A/N: I've actually never written about Zoro before. It was more fun than I expected.🦖 Btw I think I might be shadowbanned. Can anyone who doesn't follow me write something in the comments, please?

LUFFY

Luffy doesn't understand. He is more practical. So when you tried giving him hints like "Yo, it's hot, take your shirt off." "I don't feel like it." He would be clueless. He doesn't get why you would want to keep your shirt on when it's so hot on the deck. He is for sure confused.

He also wouldn't get why anyone would hate how they look. "I mean, it's you. Why would you hate you?" He has no idea what he would do if he hated his body. He thought about it for a while. "Nah, my body's cool" He understands why you can hate others, but how can you hate you? He doesn't get that.

After you tell him and the crew these hints Chopper gets a little worried. He's a doctor. He knows what might happen if you hate your body it may not end well for you. He brings up the topic when Luffy and a few others are around. Luffy is again surprised at how can someone hate their body. The concept is totally foreign to him.

He ran up to you after a banquet in the middle of the night when you were, sound asleep on the bed. He woke you up and yelled into your face. "YOU HATE YOUR BODY?" He is always so straightforward. You were still half asleep, so you stayed silent for a while and then answered. "Kind of..."

"But why?" You thought about it. You thought about how to answer him. "I don't like the way it looks." You sighed as you made eye contact with him again. "But I do... how can you hate something when I don't?" You looked at him, and his response made you chuckle. "People are different, I guess."

"That's too difficult." He couldn't understand. "So, like you're sad?" "Yeah, something like that." Now he understood why you would hate being sad. "That's bad you, shouldn't be sad." "I don't like that."

He looked like he just got an amazing idea. He tackled you to the bed and said. "Cuddles help with being sad right?" You squeezed his body and buried your face into his chest. "I think they do." "But I'm not sure, so keep cuddling me so that we know whether it's true or false." "That's smart."

ZORO

Now this man is pissed. "Huh, no fucking way." "No, you're not allowed to do that." You looked at him, confused, wondering if he meant that. "Vice captain's order" You laughed at how childishly he spoke. "It doesn't work like that."

"What is there to hate about your body? I don't get it?" You thought for a while. You thought for a longer while. "I would say my feminine body type." "What that, how can you hate that?" You gave him a confused look telling him to elaborate more.

He understood what he had to do. You couldn't even blink and he was right there, right in front of you. He grabbed you off the ground and lifted you into the air. "You mean that you have the most liftable body type?" He put you back up and hugged you. "Or that I absolutely tower over you?"

You looked his way and saw a devilish smirk. "Or that I can grab you pretty fucking easy?" He grabbed you by your waist and lifted you. Your legs naturally parted as they squirmed around Zoro's waist. He pushed you to the wall behind you. "And because I can fu-" "OK, ZORO. I GET IT. I'M NOT ALLOWED TO HATE MY BODY."

"Wait for tonight. I'll show you how much I love that cursed body of yours."

Lowkey feel like your feticizing FTM. I've read a lot of your writing and I've seen mostly ftm characters, mainly smut, and I don't know if I looked hard enough but like no actual ftm problems. I've only seen it being sexualised. And your pretty much only using masculine pronouns, you write the characters as if they were women, only masc pronouns. I understand if it is the reader who is ftm, like cool. Or maybe your not and I'm reading to far into it, cause this is basically what every writer does.

1. I’ve never counted the amount of ftm pieces I’ve done but Im 100% sure they’re not the majority of my work. I looked through my writing tag and the most recent ftm piece i did was my price piece. Edit I just checked, for the month of February I wrote one single ftm price piece, and in the month of January I wrote 2 ftm Price pieces.

2. This is a smut account. I do not depict issues and struggles in what’s supposed to be a smut piece. I have nothing else to say to this. I apologize.

3. I don’t really understand the “you write the characters as if they’re women” part because I do not feel that I do so nor has anyone told me this before and I’ve written for a year now. So I don’t really know how to respond to this part 😭 Edit: do you mayhaps mean when I discuss 141 getting pregnant specifically price? I get that’s not everyone’s cup of tea and I can always put a tag so you can filter out those asks/ pieces of writing

4. I also don’t understand “if the reader is ftm cool”. Do you mean it’d be okay if I wrote trans reader but not trans characters? To that i say, I see nothing wrong with writing trans characters. I think there are more trans characters pieces out here than trans reader pieces.

I've hinted at some of my thoughts on this before, but here is all the deep lore (as deep as Alucard in Trevor)

(None of this should in any way be taken to mean that Trevor exclusively bottoms. He absolutely does top sometimes and if you're already asking what he does with that whip if he's not a dom and/or top with Alucard, the answer is Hector. He's doing Hector.)

Alucard's portrayal in netflixvania has done irrevocable damage to how his character is perceived by the fandom as a whole, and this is one of many reasons why. 

I refuse to acknowledge what Warren Ellis did to him and I refuse to acknowledge his rapist ocs as canon. It cannot be proof of Alucard's sexuality (I think he is bisexual for entirely different reasons, based solely on the characters I ship him with in cv3 and sotn) or what he actually does like doing in the bedroom, because it's a rape scene written by a sex pest.

I'm also refuting it out of spite for migratory slash fandoms latching onto trevorcard for the wrong reasons and forcing them into the seme/uke mold. I can't even really call it flanderization when it's not an exaggeration of traits they actually have, it's just wildly out of character. I have a deep-seated personal seething hatred of ukefication in general, and especially when it comes to pretty bishounen. 

It's even worse when it's my comfort character who I somewhat relate and project onto and aspire to be as pretty as him and I WOULD NEVER DO THAT. (For personal reasons to do with me being ftm and dysphoric as hell and hating the stereotypes about it. I don't hc Alucard as trans but I know there's fans who do SOLELY because he's pretty and/or because they decided bottom=trans because of the aforementioned nfcv shit and I hate it. If vampires were real I would let them bite me though. I'm only a masochistic slut for vampires ok)

Exhibit B: Actual serious reasoning based on what I can extrapolate about his characterization based on the games and vampire lore in general

A very common headcanon which while I don't entirely agree with, is more accurate than how nfcv and its fans portray him, is that Alucard is aroace. And I can somewhat see it, though I see it more in the sense that I think he would be more interested in pseudo-sexual intimacy than actual sex. The sexiest of all forms of pseudo-sex is a vampire's bite (citation NOT needed). I'd go so far as to call it a type of BDSM. Feeding would be the ultimate act of love and intimacy for him, and I don't think it's something he does lightly; only with the humans who love and trust him implicitly.

Additionally, I think he'd be more interested in sex while feeding than sex by itself; both of them at once being filled with the other's warmth.

6: which ship fans are the most annoying?

I've curated my dash enough to not see any of it on tumblr, but trephacard shippers still manage to annoy me by cluttering up the tags for the games on ao3. The sheer amount of fics that get filtered out when I filter it out is just depressing. They get all three of them completely wrong (which is mostly the shows writers fault but they still get compressed even further into flanderized molds) They're sleeping on Grant when they could be sleeping with Grant and leaving him out of the polycule is an instant red flag that it's a netflixvania fic

8: common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

The common headcanon that Alucard is oblivious to or disinterested in romance. I'd like to think he does reciprocate Maria's and the curse polycule's feelings. It's not that he doesn't want to be with any of them, but that he keeps his distance and goes to sleep out of a misguided desire to protect them from himself and believing he doesn't belong with humans because of the vampire half of himself; all the while pining that they cannot be together. I don't think that was an easy decision for him to make.

12:  the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

I know she is beloved in our corner of the fandom here but Julia

I feel like outside of here, people just see her as Hector's obligatory love interest or as a replacement for Rosaly. She is so much more than that. I feel like there is so much that CoD only hints at on a surface level.

I've been thinking more thoughts about her lately, admittedly in relation to Isaactor-centric fic ideas but I feel like she's taken on more of a distinct personality that cannot be interchangeable with any other character.

I think anyone who appreciates Isaac should appreciate her too; I'd like to think they're not as different as they seem in CoD

It's been two and a half months since I wrote out my Mr. Reca headcanons, so now I'm updating them!

Headcanon list:

(these are in direct response to these headcanons, so this'll make more sense if you read them first, but you don't have to!)

Reca is a he/him in the way a cute dog or cat is a he/him. Cares a lot more about it than they'd like to admit, though. Wants to wear more ruffly blouses and shorts. They prefer to be called they/them by those close to them.

They transitioned (ftm) before they became a memetic entity. It's debatable whether they had top surgery while they were human or not. (It's funnier to think that they didn't) (they also didn't take T)

"[Reca is] neither a feminine nor a masculine entity." They've always felt this way, but they decided early on to present as fully male in order to get by in life. It's unfortunate that this is how this world is built.

Reca's hair is an interesting story. They're a natural brunette who went fully platinum blonde and then later got the most wacky ass chunky lowlights you've ever seen. Now they're an official White Striped Freak!

Reca has only ever experienced romantic attraction towards fictional characters. There was this one character, once... *sigh.* Never mind. It's too painful to remember.

It's not known exactly how many sketchbooks there are, but Reca is always seen with at least two to three separate sketchbooks with them at all times. They have blue covers, they're spiral-bound, and they all have their respective numbers written in thick black permanent marker on the front cover.

Sometimes I say they're between 5'5-5'7 to appeal to everyone who thinks they're 6'1 (😞) but in reality they're only 5'3 😬

They've got audhd big time, with a major frog hyperfixation and a knack for paranoia. The balance of reality relies on whether they take their silly medication or not 😋 They also have some obsessive-compulsive tendencies, and some dissociative shenanigans going on (they're a memokeeper, after all).

This one was so wordy I'm sorry.... anyway, now you all know the truth of Reca's gender that I've been heavily implying for the past four months! Haha!

SATOKO by quantumghosts, a Naruto fic where an OC-insert is Naruto, it's really well-written and planned out, I highly recommend!

Does this question mean personal lore about me or about my characters...? Well, I try not to talk too much about myself online so I'll go with some character personal lore, let's see...

Oh, I know! When I was planning out 621's backstory, I did originally plan for him to be ftm, but after some thought realised it didn't really click with the backstory I had constructed for him for multiple reasons, so instead I hit Walter with the trans beam bc it fit a lot more with his whole identity issues in a contrasting sort of way - that he has so much baggage about his lineage and his father yet he's decisively confident about the fact he's a guy (even if his father issues creep into the fringes of that from time to time).

Also bc ftm Walter is hot. I am a simple person sometimes.

🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?

Having been forged in the crucible of 2000s ff dot net and LJ anon kink memes my tolerance is very high when it comes to fic. I've found plenty of fic where the story is amazing or the character interactions are fun, but poorly written, or amazingly written fic with a flat plot/characters, and I'm fine with it majority of the time. I'm always willing to give fic a chance even if its not the best upon initial read bc you can find some real gems out there.

Like, I genuinely can't think of anything that'd have me click out of a fic immediately... not even untagged noncon, bc that shit was rife on ff dot net. I usually just scroll past it and see how the next part of the story is handled...

About Me!!

Watered my plants today so here’s a drabble: ftm!Steve and gardener!Billy

Mrs. H wants a rose garden. They actually used to have roses in the flower beds in front of the house, but life got in the way and they were replaced with plants that could handle themselves, for the most part.

Thing is, Steve loves flowers. He stopped letting himself indulge in them because it was hard enough being “man enough,” but his friendship with Robin (and saving the world a few times) puts things into a new perspective.

He deserves to pursue his interests. And goodness knows, anything other people have tried to push on him haven’t worked apart from always make him looking like a fool.

So he gets a bunch of roses in little green “trainer” pots and gets to work during one of the last winter days where it’s cold in the air but hot under the sun. Steve plants peppermint (red and white striped) roses in the front flower beds, and red ones around one side of the pool; the side of the yard that slopes down and around to the front of the house, so the right angle from the street can see them. He even gets a fine mulch to blanket the new beds and goes to the quarry for free rocks to frame it all in.

Then a gardener shows up. His mom hired a freaking gardener.

Admittedly, Steve could have reacted better than, “Who the hell are you?”

But also, who arrives on their first day of work and says, “Wrong mulch, pretty boy.”

Steve had climbed out of the rose bed and faced the young and muscular guy, who blinked and his face flickered with something that Steve had seen dozens of times. The uncertainty between Steve’s height and his mother’s eyes and cheekbones. The movement of eyes analyzing the width of his shoulders and hips between a waistline he had worked damn hard on to be rectangular instead of hour-glass shaped.

“What’s wrong with the mulch?” Steve bit out as he planted his hands on his hips. He couldn’t say why he had the habit; some traumatized mixture of hiding his hips and making him look wider. Stronger. Deserving of the space he held.

“There was a recall from that brand. A whole vat of pesticide fell into it. It’s too toxic for flowering or fruiting plants.”

Steve could hear Robin’s voice in his head. If a man explains something to me one more time, I’m going to start frothing at the mouth.

God, Steve loved her. She helped him see all the micro-aggressions men did to him because they mentally catalogued Steve as the wrong gender. It helped him realize how bad he was at reading people and why he’d made the wrong “friends” up until now.

“How was I supposed to know that?” he retorted grumpily.

The gardener - with his stupid face already golden in the winter, and a stupid curl falling over his forehead like he styled it for landscaping or something - smiled. “Get a rake, peach. We’ll replace it by lunchtime.”

Peach? Steve fumed.

So...yeah. Not the best start.

Even worse, this guy named Billy really fed into the pet name. Greeted him with, “Hey, peaches,” all the time, and went inside to use the bathroom only to bring out sliced peaches and yogurt.

“It’s finally getting hot out. Sugar’s good for you.”

Steve hated him. He hated him for calling him Peach, and he hated him for putting salt on his fruit ever since Steve stomped inside and corrected the stupid snack the way he liked it.

And then Steve’s own red rose bloomed. He despised the irony but there it was. Robin helped him despise it less and less. Her own tactics for dealing with cramps, food cravings, and headaches really saved him; and just having the company made him feel less like a fish in the wrong ocean.

It came early, though, and it was a doozy.

Steve and Billy were only weeding the beds with occasional pruning of the branches, but eventually Steve just had to lie down. He’d started bleeding that morning, but in less than twenty minutes his abdomen was swollen and he felt the cramps all the way down his inner thighs to his feet.

The grass was cool underneath his cheek. Being horizontal helped the headache but not everything else -

“Hey, Peach. Sit up a little. I got you something.”

“Fluff off.”

Billy...didn’t laugh. Steve heard him huff through his nose and drape a towel or something over him before setting something on the grass. “Don’t knock it over.”

Steve opened his eyes and saw a glass of water and a glorious little pill on a toilet paper square. Steve gulped it down as fast as he could and settled once more...underneath Billy’s jacket. He supposed it was still a little cold in the morning shade.

When he could, he folded the jacket and set it on the poolside concrete before going inside to get himself more water, a little coffee, and to, you know, check -

He’d bled through his jeans.

Like the weight of water crashing over his head, Steve wilted in the bathroom. It wasn’t a big stain, but Billy had to know, right? Steve tried to remember where exactly he’d placed his jacket on top of Steve. Was it to keep him warm, higher up on his shoulder? Or lower, to give him the courtesy of privacy?

Steve wasn’t a coward. And he sure as hell wasn’t going another day with this gardener treating him like-like...

Like what?

Robin would skin him alive for not wanting to be treated like a girl. What does that even mean, Steve? Treated with respect? Treated like a person? What does it mean to be treated like a man, then? Who is devalued here? 

Steve sighed and yanked on fresh underwear and jeans. Why was gender so hard? He knew he was Steve, and Robin liked to tell him he over-simplified things - which was a hell of a nicer way of saying he shined less than other bulbs - but he couldn’t deal with the wondering or the tip-toeing around this incredibly masculine and pretty and annoying gardener.

Billy was down the slope in the side-yard. Steve didn’t know why he was planting a sapling, of all things. His mother never said anything about wanting a tree, but he ignored that and barked, “I need to talk to you.”

“I’m listening,” he said without turning around. Steve fumed as soil got patted down around the base of the tree.

“We need to talk about my – me. We need to talk about me.”

“Are you feeling better?” Billy stood and went to the wheelbarrow of mulch.

This was too frustrating. Steve came right out with. “Do you know? Like – because my name is Steve. But I’m not sure you get it – ”

“I get it. Steve.”

Billy finally looked at him and used the shears from his belt to clip off the large tag fluttering on the branch of the tree. “It’s you who doesn’t get it.”

He pushed the tag against the front of Steve’s shirt. The latter now had a prop to syphon his frustration into. He waved the tag around as he exploded, “What do you – You don’t get to know me better than – ”

“Romance really flies right by you.”

And.

Well.

Whatever lake or ocean Steve flailed in, he sure gaped out of water now.

Billy stepped up to him, making Steve shut his trap and swallow a wet sound. He purred in between them, “This is the part where you read the tag.”

Steve really hated being a slower reader. He felt like every second was a month as he read the tag, and then flipped it over…

“I’m mean because you deserve it,” Steve growled, but he wasn’t doing well at putting distance between them. Good god, the man had freckles on his nose and cheeks.

Billy pinched the front of Steve’s shirt. “I know what else I deserve,” and pulled a light little moan out of Steve when he captured his lips.

Billy’s lips were soft, and his hand was a little sweaty where it came to hold the side of Steve’s neck and jaw. Steve couldn’t help but say against Billy’s breath, “You don’t mind?”

“ ‘Course I don’t mind,” Billy murmured almost angrily. “It’s not the 1880s.”

“You just relied on a plant to tell me you like me. That’s pretty sappy-Victorian-show-trope to me.”

“I had to get creative. You’re already surrounded by roses every time I see you.”

Steve giggled breathily in the little space between them. Something in his body moved like a trapeze artist when the pink tip of Billy’s tongue moved inside his mouth, from one side of his bottom lip to the other.

“Roses? Too old school for me,” Steve teased.

“Good. Any more old school and it’d be awkward for me to keep doing this.”

Steve may or may not have gotten sunburnt from kissing too long.

Billy somehow found peach-scented sunscreen.

I've a whole "trope theory" about different types of intelligence groups tend to have, and simply put it goes

book smarts, street (survival) smarts, emotional smarts, social smarts

and how those mix and match to show through in characters that are disregarded as stupid and I personally believe Steve is very Socially _and_ emotionally smart but because he's arguably in line to be the most toxic masculine people by reputation (not personality but the past -both his and his dads- linger) people don't notice it.

Hi anon, of course I want to talk about Steve's intelligence - because I am so so so tired of him being written off as the fool, and I am especially tired of people pretending like he is not the most emotionally intelligent person in the show other than potentially Will or Joyce. Also in advance, I totally go on a BUNCH of tirades and rants so I'm sorry if you lose the thread at all, I just have a lot of thoughts and they all FEEL important to me. So yeah, this is a long one.

I haven't read many fics where Neurodivergent! Steve's divergence is specifically autism and personally I feel that other divergences fit him better such as OCD (see - his need to keep things tidy, instances of reduced impulse control, repetitive/ritualistic behaviors, hypervigilance, and agitation), ADHD (see - his need to be moving lots of pacing and bouncing, difficulty concentrating on the group discussions, impulsivity), Dyslexia/Dyscalculia (personal/popular headcanon), or something that would affect his audio processing (personal/unpopular headcanon; see- being unable to get past the music on the recording, difficulty following along with the group discussions, immediately losing track of the group in the Upside Down Wheeler's house when he thinks he hears Dustin)- but I definitely read him as someone whose brain works in a way that is non-typical which is something we ABSOLUTELY see in season 3 where he focuses in on the music and it seems like he literally can't focus on the Russian words until he knows what the music is.

But what it comes down to is that so many people read the fact that he didn't get into college (which is more indicative of a lack of testing skills than it is for actual intelligence) and his inability to follow along with group discussions about Upside Down stuff (which could point to issues with concentration or audio processing or just a lack of knowledge regarding the lingo being used) as a way to characterize him entirely as an idiot/fool. This of course isn't helped by the Duffers refusing to deepen his character beyond "he was bad but now he's good because now he's interacting with intelligent™ people". So to answer this question, I'm all for fics that explore Steve's intellect through a lens of "no he's not dumb, he just processes information in an atypical way".

I'm not 100% sure I'm interpreting this question correctly but I have some issues with fics where the character of interest is 'pretending' to be stupid so it entirely depends on what the motivation behind doing so is.

If the motivation is "I play dumb so that I can fit in better and not be bullied for being smart" I don't like it that much - I feel like in a lot of media, and American media especially, there is this perpetuation of Smart=Unpopular/Bullied/Unathletic and Dumb=Popular/Bully/Athletic and I don't like that because in my lived experience that really isn't the case - I have friends that were the Valedictorian's of their high schools by gpa that were also class president and soccer captian and genuinely good people and some of the meanest people I have ever met were stereotypical™ nerds. So if the motivation is that he pretends to be dumb specifically to fit in and not get bullied I don't really like it. HOWEVER, if the motivation is "I downplay my intelligence so that people underestimate me" that's different and I can get behind it to a degree - no one is perfect and Steve was not the best person at first so him having a little manipulation bit like this would make sense.

Also this leads into another thing I feel we don't talk about enough - Steve is a jock with a head for STRATEGY and you cannot tell me otherwise. The ability to strategize is something we like to take away from jocks all across media, but as a former athlete myself I can tell you that a LOT of thought goes into athletic strategy and it translates well to other aspects of life. We also see Steve make quick strategic decisions A LOT but we never mention them - some examples include when he leads the scoops troop through the crowded russian base w/o getting caught - some of this is simply poor writing/tracking and i will admit that but if we suspend our disbelief for a second it's Steve that looks at the set up takes in the information and says "Follow me, stay low and be quick" as they navigate that scene, we also see it in season two when him and Dustin get to the junkyard and he says "oh yeah this will do nicely" and then he proceeds to set the stage for catching Dart with a clearing to trap him, a reinforced fort for protection and surveillance and honestly the only reason this goes wrong is because there was more than one demodog. So yeah being good with strategy lends itself well to Steve using his intelligence as a manipulation for others to underestimate him. I personally would love for there to be a fic where one of the kids challenges Steve to a strategy game like chess or risk or something like that and for him to DECIMATE them because strategy is the thing he's good at.

For one I would like to quickly put out there that Steve almost definitely got a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) from the Russian Torture - and probably PCS (Post Concussion Syndrome) from the fight with Billy (I would also like to quickly mention that these are different things with different causes and potential future outcomes/side effects, I feel like they get confused a lot in this fandom which is totally fine but just a reminder that a concussion comes specifically from your brain impacting your skull and how he receives his head injuries from Jonathan and the Russians would indicate to me that he probably didn't have a concussion those times but when he crashes the car in season three he could have easily gotten a whiplash concussion which is something we don't talk about but does actually happen a lot and it's less likely to get treated because people don't realize you can get a concussion w/o hitting your head. Also I am so sorry about this head trauma info dump, it's just a subject I have lots of experience with/knowledge about).

ANYWAY, yeah TBIs and PCS can really mess with your head and are often the cause of things like memory loss - as well as vision and hearing impairment. Also TBIs have been studied a lot in American Football players and sometimes they can even cause shifts in personality. (Also @peter-pantomime has some really good discussions and headcanons regarding Steve's head traumas so I highly suggest their content both here and on tiktok.)

And yes, Steve consistently proves to be extremely socially intelligent. You do not get to the top of the high school food chain by simply being attractive or athletic, you have to be capable of understanding and manipulating certain social interactions - walking into a room and knowing who to talk to and who to avoid, popularity is often just a matter of networking and part of the reason Steve loses his popularity is because he abandons the network he built himself up through and switches it out for a group of people much lower on the social ladder. We also can tell he's incredibly emotionally intelligent through his interactions with others - scenes that really show this are Steve cleaning up the theater sign and going to apologize to Jonathan (some might say this is just emotional maturity but i would like to point out that he was emotionally intelligent enough to realize that it was Jonathan that deserved the apology instead of just Nancy) (s1), when Will comes home and we see him empathize with the worry of Joyce & Jonathan (s2), when he can seemingly tell that something happened between Nancy and Jonathan but instead of lashing out he supports her (also s2), when Robin comes out to him and also technically rejects him but he just treats her like normal (s3), like… every scene with him and Max in S4, and also when he tells Eddie that he needs to stop being so hard on himself when he keeps talking about how much of a coward he is (also S4).

Yes do it, caveat: I think it needs to be Robin, Eddie, or Will - I think everyone else is a little too in their own way of realizing Steve has consistently made good points.

For Robin, as a Queer Platonic Stobin truther, I feel like if anyone were to really get into Steve's brain it would be her.

For Eddie, I feel it comes from that same vein that we see people pointing out that Eddie is the only person who directly answer Steve's questions, so it would make sense for him to be the one to say "wait hey - Steve is actually asking incredibly relevant questions that lead to a point he wants to make."

For Will, I simply think that he's the most emotionally intelligent member of the original Party and also the one with the fewest interactions with Steve so if he were to be with Steve in a time of crisis he wouldn't ignore Steve's thoughts the way that sometimes happens and notice something about how he processes information or something and be like "why did you guys all tell me he was dumb, he's making extremely relevant points right now?"

honestly, doesn't it always come back to a/b/o and mpreg? and i felt this way before i was consciously trans and it's only gotten more pronounced as i've pushed forward into the non-fanworks world of fiction writing. there's a distinct lack of trans characters in both, but there is an especially noticeable lack of visibility and representation for ftm/transmasculine characters. i've speculated a lot about why this is (best i can come up with is the societal fear of a surprise phallus is greater than the surprise of a lack thereof, but this is a really hard thing to articulate and incredibly nuanced, and it'll take me way off topic), but people in general are just incredibly adverse to writing trans male characters, in particular trans male adults. adults who hold positions of power and adults who have sex and adults who fuck up.

and trust me: i have tried to read a/b/o. i have tried to understand the appeal. but i'm just like, goddamn, why are so many girlies choosing wet ass when you could just write a trans character and fucking have your cake and eat it too! trans men have dicks, natural and surgically! if you're that obsessed with needing two cocks, you can still have that with a trans character, and you don't need this gross, cissexist trope that requires ass pregnancies.

and that segues nicely into how fandom writes characters when they are actually written as trans which is... still woof. because it's never just normal. 80% of it is pregnancy whump, "woe to me, for i, a transsexual, am pregnant, and this is the worst thing that could ever happen to me". obviously there's nuance to this (hell, when i was a teen i wrote a polyam series where my trans character got pregnant. i also wrote a lot more porn than angst, though, it wasn't just endless angst), but when that's all there is?? and when it's not pregnancy angst, it's g or t-rated, which, fine, whatever, but why can't we have casual pwps? why is it so hard to get casual explicit stuff with a ftm character? fandom is full of all kinds of weird porn, but i have actually gotten yelled at by Fandom Girls for asking why people write a/b/o over making a character ftm lol.

obligatory "if people aren't comfortable writing trans characters, i would obviously rather ignore their weird cis porn than have to suffer through shitty trans fetishization". but also. people should learn how to write trans characters, in fandom and in general. a character can (and, imo, should) be trans without that being the whole plot. the problem is trans people still exist primarily as inspiration/tragedy porn in the cisgender eyeballs, and so we don't get to just... be a character. we don't get to have casual sex or get put into cutesy little au's or any of that.

(that's also why i'm happy that my chris/adrian series has been doing well because like..... this is not meant as shade to anyone in the ao3 tag. but right now, besides me, there's, like, 2 other trans adrian fics that i would go back and reread. everything else is a/b/o, and one tagged as "mpreg" that i refuse to touch on principle. but the two good ones are i think both t-rated. we have far more fic for breeding kink, which, fine, whatever. and i really want other people to write trans adrian, because i think combining his obsession with identity makes him FASCINATING to write as trans, and i want people to get fun and freaky with explicit stuff like they do when they write him as cis, but also i trust a maximum of 5 or 6 writers to do that decently. and at this point, i've dissected and analyzed so much fucking trans media that i just emotionally and mentally cannot. spare the time of day for people who are still doing it objectively wrong. lol)
