#joker out #it's SO GOOD. the lyrics are SO GOOD.#also they make me very sad #the contrast between the needs of the speaker and the needs of the partner #the hand-in-hand solace and hopelessness of the chorus #the way that even 'i've heard that' in first line sets the situation up as being an uphill battle #actually to elaborate on the first point. the contrast between #the framing of the speaker as not only something now unnecessary to the partner (OUCH) but as something that could actively cause them pain #in the future #vs the framing of the partner as the speaker's sole solace (ha) and comfort that they are soon going to lose #but it's a necessary loss because otherwise they would just be dragging the partner down into hell and presumably the speaker cares greatly #for the partner. but it's still a loss of someone who acts an an anchor for the speaker #the way what's good for the speaker can't live alongside what's good for the partner because they're the antithesis of each other #the feeling of desperately trying to hold on to the last tatters of solace. I'm using that word a lot. before it gets torn away and you're #left with nothing #the hopeless repeating of the chorus in contrast to the verses #'i've heard this and this and this and i know this and this but all that i know is you are my anchor and comfort and when I'm with you #i'm safe'#hell even the way 'i know' vs 'I've heard' is used throughout the song #“i've heard everything comes to an end and I've heard you don't need me anymore. but all i know is that i need you”#“but i also know you've been through hell before and you don't want to return. and staying with me will put you there”#“but i know still that your presence keeps me from being there”#i am going to EAT DRYWALL #i'm making interpretations now so it's probably time to wrap this tag-fest up #i'm sure it was very redundant. i may end up getting emotional and adding to it another time but in summary #kris guštin i'm going after you with a hunting knife #and maybe bojan cvjetićanin too?? idk if he's credited as co-writing the music or the chorus #only tagging kris though because he's the one i'm sure wrote at least a portion of both #og #kris guštin

I think the wildest thing about the TikTok Ban is that TikTok decided to adhere to it beyond the letter of the law.

They bent their knee willingly and gave up space and a platform they did not have to. They consciously decided to fuck over their user base when there was no valid reason for them to do so.

I've seen people talking about how you absolutely do not want to obey ahead of authority, and to see TikTok do it is... weird. It's unsettling. It feels like a dangerous stunt.

Specifically, it feels performative. It's got the marks of a Great Drama™, and given Trump's first 4 years and his absolutely bonkers love for theatrics over anything else, this just feels hollow. Like TikTok is trying to turn it's - generally younger - user base into "fans" of the republicans.

They can't really scoop up youths any other way, honestly. But using a big impactful story and putting Trump as the "hero" who saves their beloved platform.

It's not even the 20th and I just don't like how this new administration is starting. I do not like a private company complying beyond the letter of the law in advance of that law either. Because the only thing the law laid down was that they couldn't update the app on Apple and Google.

There wouldn't have been any fines or legal ramifications.

unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the pokémon assigning quiz has been canceled. instead, you must spin THE WHEEL, assigning you a random, unevolved, non-legendary and non-mythical pokémon. you must now go on some sort of world-saving adventure as this pokémon. good luck!

tell me in the tags what you rolled, and how you feel about it - for bonus points, you can spin the wheel again for (or just take your pick of) a pokémon to be your partner.

bonus rules:

you're not shiny unless the wheel tells you you're shiny

take your pick of regional forms and evolutions (for example, if you roll vulpix, it's up to you whether that means normal or alolan vulpix)

Bruce definitely trained all the Robins to abandon him if things got bad. He'd give them scenarios like him trapped under something in a fire, hypothermic conditions, he's too injured, and they need to get information to Lucius, and the list goes on. And to date, the only bit of training his kids have continually failed, whether in simulation or practice, is failing to leave him behind.

#Not counting Red Hood Jason for the most part. something that drives me insane on a relatively regular basis as a body jewelry understander is talking to people who have sensitive skin who are like "oh well I just can't wear any earrings without my ears getting inflamed" and I say "well what have you tried" and they say "well I've tried sterling silver and I've tried gold..." and it's like. ok. I don't know how gold and sterling somehow got spun by the jewelry industry as being especially good for sensitive skin but whenever I'm like "well have you tried implant grade titanium" they're always like "no....... but I've tried sterling silver... and it didn't work ..." like. I don't know how this narrative about sterling silver somehow got so strong but when they put pins in your fucking legs when you snap your leg in half are those pins made of sterling silver or are they made of implant grade titanium or surgical steel????????? HELLO. HI. YOU MIGHT BENEFIT FROM TRYING IMPLANT GRADE TITANIUM I AM JUST SAYING

I love tornado survival guides. "Shelter in a basement or interior room without any windows. But if you're in a mobile home, just fucking die I guess lol"

#did you know over half of deaths caused by tornados are residents of mobile homes?#which also means that they're primarily poor and elderly and disabled people #most places have absolutely no requirements for trailer parks to have safe shelter for residents during a tornado #personal tornado shelters cost $5000+ and many of them can't be installed in trailer parks because of neighborhood rules #and many parks are so isolated that going to find shelter somewhere else isn't safe or possible #it's safer to shelter inside a ditch outside than to stay in a mobile home during a tornado #and yet there's next to no effort to change laws to make trailer parks safer especially in emergencies #or even make other housing more accessible and available so people don't have to live in homes made of tissue paper #there's no tornado happening i'm just stressed
