I think this is true w light reads but when it comes to serious works I actually have an issue where I overanalyze to the point of burnout (I used to be more reasonable ab it before but lately it’s been sooo excessive)….. which is actually one of the reasons for my reading slump :( I confided in my therapist about this and she advised me to get one easy read (where I don’t have to think too much & it’s just fun so I don’t feel the pressing need to analyze) and one critically acclaimed read so I can switch between the two without flatlining entirely

I know we are only on episode two but I think I’m onto something here. No screenshots on this one just in case.

What we know so far is that Arajin Tomoshibi is attached somehow to Senya (a character who appears to be based of djinni or a reference to one thousand and one nights) asking him what his wish is and then partially merging with him to do a big punch.

His wish before the big punch being that he was wants to lose his virginity. Mhkay, guy 👀

Consider for a moment how Djinn wishes in some stories often come out with unexpected results, (look no further than @/asshole-genie in tumblr for an example)

So my bucchigiritheory is that the dudes Arajin punches after making that dumb wish fall instantly in love with him… because that definitely aids in his wish of losing his virginity.

i’ve been playing arb on switch in the occasional pockets of free time i have so it’s been slow lol, but they like, really streamline you getting your cards lol

as advertised, you can just play thru the story to unlock cards but they made it super convenient letting you just skip the entire story and give you the cards you would have unlocked going part by part

thinking deeply about vivian ratcliff. grew up in fort collins, colorado with a good family, a good childhood, filled with many homemade dinners and pastries after meals and flowers in pretty, passed-through-generations vases. her family had a big farm that’s been there for hundreds of years through the ratcliff family and she spent many summers riding horses, tending to the cows, chickens, pigs and her ma’s honeybee farm. they make quite the profit. she’s kind and conscientious, aspiring teacher, and a happy-go-lucky, calm-cool-and-collected type of girl. she’s content with where she is in life. and she wants to do things, see new places, read and learn all there is. and then she meets boyfriend-turned-future-husband when her dad needs a handy-man and james pennington shows up. she attends the university of washington and completes a program for teaching but goes into the military after graduation because of an opportunity to shoot and fly - and, with a war on, she could kill two birds with one stone and see the world and do something for it at the same time. with her parents a little less than happy and her boyfriend shipping out to the navy, viv takes this in stride. heading to utah, she gets a gig on a plane as a turret gunner before being accepted into Silver Bullets under captain birdie faulkner, the first female pilot of the war for america. the crew builds up, the friendships form and Silver Bullets is the finest B-17 there is. she writes to james, she keeps up with her family and friends back home, she goes to the flying club, and takes early morning runs around base. she’s content. things are good.

then, captain faulkner is KIA. flying a regular bombing run - freak accident with the shrapnel flying through the air. killing her right in the midst of the sky. viv remembers how numbed and equally freaked out francis was - how’d she manage to land a plane and maintain composure? lieutenant annie bradshaw is the newest replacement and finds herself next as the newest pilot of Silver Bullets. viv thinks things are okay, things are looking up.

then, a letter comes in. james pennington is KIA. her world seems to shatter. everything seems to crack open and equally fall apart. she’s half in a spiral and half trying to keep it together in front of everyone else. no one should see her like this. she hardly wants to see herself like this. annie bradshaw and the rest of the crew seems to pull her through; most surprisingly, so does everett blakely. he was always more in the background, a handshake, a comforting pat on the shoulder, willing to check in and move on his way. an all-around gentleman. then, she starts to notice him. at breakfast, at dinners, before missions, after missions, glances through the interrogation tables, before bed when cigarette butts were stubbed out and last minute conversations were held. everett blakely was always there.

then, the Silver Bullets crew is split across half of europe. and yet again, with 40% of the crew MIA, viv is sent to operations and is suddenly stepping into a world where her hands are filled more with pencils and papers and maps then a gun. yet again - without annie bradshaw and francis montez, who became a pilot for a new B-17 crew with quite an annoying co-pilot, viv feels more alone than ever. until ev blakely is there. always there. again. they grow closer than they ever had - breakfast together, sometimes even lunch and dinner, cigarette breaks, sharing coffee breaks, finding moments to take a glance throughout the operations room. moments viv didn’t think much of. until she was heading out for the night and ev invited her to the flying club for a drink and a dance.

and then the war ended. and everyone went their separate ways. and reality hit. and it hit hard. james pennington’s funeral, the reality that the man she was going to marry is now dead, and her family, torn at the edges, crumbling. she’s hurt, filled with a grief she can’t untangle and is lost between what to do and what else there is left for her. until everett blakely starts writing. and doesn’t stop writing. writing the Silver Bullets girls were on thing, but writing ev blakely was different - in his words, his phrases, what he talked about.

they decide to meet, and everything comes flooding back. like the crash of high waves, just as fast, just as harshly. and she doesn’t feel herself turn away like she would. and suddenly, she doesn’t want him to leave. and for the first time in her life, he doesn’t. he stays.

Feel like we’re too focused on our favourite ships and/ or the characters we have a crush on to realize that xo kitty isn’t just about love and what ship’s endgame, it’s about kitty learning about her background and discovering herself.

Kitty herself is trying to be her own individual and have her own journey/ adventure (she’s says so herself).

I think that’s why people think Kitty being bi is “random” (it really isn’t but if you wanna be dense that’s your issue). Too focused on who Kitty ends up with and not who she ends up as.

I also think this effects how people look at kitty as “just some white girl koreaboo looking for cute boys in Korea” and think she’s annoying cuz she’s not your perfect self insert (she’s a teenage girl she isn’t supposed to be).

Trying to drag my ass into posting more of Chaye’s backstory!!

Chaye has only been in the Mojave for so long, arriving from a long wander in the western wildnernesses and various settlements in California only just after the first battle for the dam about four years pre-canon. One of the first people they properly met upon arrival to New Vegas was The King.

He quickly took them under his wing, under the promise that they’d do a few errands for him. (Really, that was Chaye’s stubbornness, they’d only accept his help if they felt they were doing something in return.)

What started out as a simple favor became many, Chaye taking on their Mojave Express status and continuing to use the name “Six”, having told nobody their real name since escaping their vault.

They and King became fuckbuddies pretty fast after that, continuing an intense relationship even in Chaye’s many weeks away at a time taking packages to Hopeville.

However.

Chaye’s intense struggle with CPTSD and various other mental and physical health issues drew them further and further toward extremely unhealthy habits, starting with alcohol and slowly devolving into chems, especially those that could kill their pain or blur their thinking and memory. Along this road they encountered Red Lucy, who would pay well for a dangerous set of tasks.

Bringing her Deathclaw eggs, as well as the spawn of other hostile animals.

At first it was a simple trade of goods for caps, supplying their everyday as well as the growing addictions. But Red Lucy began to take a fascination with them, leading her to coax them into her bedroom.

In the beginning of that particular arrangement, Chaye didn’t really care either way. They were still paid and the sexual aspect was appealing. But the ringmaster quickly became possessive of them, and payment in caps quickly became payment in sex and chems…

And when they started to try and pull away, she began to threaten them. She found their link to King and was furiously jealous of him, and would tell them she would bring him to harm or death if they refused to return to her.

And she stopped taking no for an answer.

Chaye would often return to King late at night, bruised and high and exhausted, unable to find a way out when they were afraid for his life. Promise after promise for safety if they just stayed with him never convinced them, thinking it safer to comply to Red Lucy’s increasingly aggressive and degrading demands.

This of course continued to worsen their already failing mental health, their only real anchor to keep fighting being their deep love and want for King.

But they ended up being incompatible by neither of their fault. Chaye is and was a deeply romantic person, wanting to build a life with him… and King was ever oblivious to this, having no interest in romance at all. He said something to the effect of rejecting a few of the women he’d slept with, stating he “doesn’t really swing that way. Or any way, really.”

Of course this broke their heart. They had placed so much hope into the idea of a future with him. They didn’t breathe a word of their still-concealed affections, and ended up leaving Vegas entirely, planning to only commute between Hopeville and the various Mojave Express outposts from then on.

But that fateful package utterly destroyed what little they had left, and that led them into a deep suicidal spiral and Benny’s trap… and the subsequent loss of their memories.
