1) Jack was introduced as an important plot point in Cas' storyline, from the very beginning his story was supposed to be tightly connected to Cas'. But I suppose execs thought that having Misha and Alex in the episodes together was luxury (and we can't even think about making an episode where Jensen and Jared aren't involved) which led to rare interactions between Cas and Jack which is deeply disappointing.

3) They tried to do that in season 5 while making him a parallel to Bobby's disability, but in the end both of them just got better lmao. After that Cas losing his powers and gaining them was used mainly as a crutch to the main storylines.

5) This is going to be complicated. Most likely it's just a me problem. Yes, there's charm to Cas being a total loser. Yes, trying to accept yourself beyond your usefullness is a theme. Yes, I get it. But. It feels bad. He's an autistic-coded character to whom I relate a lot. Because of my autism many people think that I'm incompetent, that I'm unable to do any job, that I'm too uhh child-like for it. And through Cas it seems to me that show says "yeah, lol, you're a loser, you can't do anything yourself, you should just give up and let others do your job". Like it's totally connected to my personal problems and to how I interpret the character, but if we're talking about lore of the show, shouldn't he be one of the most effective soldiers of Heaven? Why does he lose all his skills? I'm sure not all of them were connected to his angelic powers. And if they were, couldn't writers let him learn new skills? I just want the show to give him a little more dignity.

6) I just want what Dean fans have - lots of boyfriends/girlfriends for Cas.

7) If you're burying gays, don't be pussies about it. The "yeah, he's here in the Heaven" undermined Cas' sacrifice for no good reason.

8) If you can't have Misha in the episode, at least think of the fun explanation for Cas' absence. Like "Yeah, sorry, I wasn't in the last episode because had to fight aliens", idk.

9) I just want more drama. Moriah was good, but I want more.

"i'll be out there in ten," you say, slamming the trailer door shut again with one hand, and pushing jensen back with the other. you were going to fuck him now, you decided. let him have the reminder of who, exactly, was in charge between the two of you.

you spent years working toward something like this. your family's name was plastered everywhere already; if it wasn't your mother's face on magazines with your last name plastered on the tags of her successful fashion brand, it was your father's photography career, or your twin's modeling career.

you wanted to break free from the mold. what was the point of having a pretty face if you didn't use it to your advantage?

that led you to the auditions for celia hollinsworth. you loved the beach. they were typecasting an it girl. and you had a last name that got you bonus points in instances like this. you walked in with the confidence of a girl who'd already earned the part, and what do you know? of course you did.

it was also that same day that you met jensen. he was there doing readings with the auditioning it girls, the casting directors needing to test the chemistry between the show's it boy and its oncoming it girl.

he vouched heavy for you, even though he didn't need to, and that wasn't a detail that mattered in the long run, to you, so he never brought it up. the directors saw the easy back and forth with you and him and already made a note to keep your name in their heads.

the next day, you got your call. celia hollinsworth was yours, baby! will dameron led the daytona beach lifeguard crew, but he would be oh so lost without his anchor: you. that was why the chemistry testing mattered so much. what use was a celia if she didn't draw out desperate, fervent yearning from the main lead?

jensen spent the whole first season yearning for you. it didn't stop when the cameras did. everyone wanted a piece of the pretty girl in red, but he was the only one brave enough to step forward.

the last day of filming ended up being the first time you actually accepted those advances. what could you lose? your show was finished, unconfirmed or not if it was getting a season two. a little fun did not hurt anyone in the times for celebration.

and then baywatch: rising tides got a second season. and then jensen was accredited as one of the central reasons for it, what with all that yearning that you brought out in him, but there was no mention of the fact that he only yearned so good because of what you brought too. so jensen got cocky. jensen got annoying.

and now you were standing across from him while the atlantic waves splash your ankles, on this scene's sixth take, because he was completely and totally pissing you off.

"chanel," he says in that slow tone of his, the slow tone that meant he was about to be tackled into the waves and whaled on, "you know when the line says, kiss will dameron, you have to kiss will dameron?"

"i'm not kissing you when you're giving me that stupid look."

jensen's eyebrows shoot up. "what stupid look?"

"like you own this show or something. you are just a guy." and he was! a very pretty guy, but you were going to be the last person to tell him such. he already knew. he'd just fucked you in your trailer, and later today, he'd probably be in one of the other girls'.

you weren't serious, just having fun. but it also made you hate him, and like a snapping shark toward the other little fishes that were your costars.

"baby, i don't look like i'm baywatch, i am baywatch." jensen smiles like he knows, too, that he's going to lucy tyrell's trailer the second filming wraps up for the day. the frustrated growl that you let out just moments before you launch at him to break his pretty nose is interrupted by the crew.

five minutes was not nearly enough time to get calmed down. no drug could sink into your veins enough in that amount of time to make you behave.

so instead, you do what's probably rational, and stomp over toward the snacks tent. see? you were good, sometimes. not every problem needed a party drug to solve it, sometimes it was just water that you needed - even though party drugs made things so much more fun.

jensen doesn't follow you, because, you guessed it: lucy tyrell is clinging off of his arm. fingers interlaced with the same ones that'd been inside of you hours earlier.

you squeeze the water bottle in your hand so tightly that it just might explode, plastic cap blasted into oblivion and water dousing you. then you'd need time to dry off, and then you'd have time to dip into your trailer and─

you startle so much that the plastic bottle falls into the sand at your feet, an irritated look on your face when you turn to find the source of who'd interrupted your completely and totally warranted jealousy. it was warranted. just having fun did not mean unspoken permission to fuck your onscreen best friend and make it so obvious right in front of you.

this guy looked like he was pulled straight from the rack of boy next door ken dolls. shaggy dark hair, bright blue eyes, a body that made you a little dry mouthed. water. you had water. somewhere.

"who the hell are you?" you manage to bite out as you bend to get it. because this stranger was wearing the classic red swim shorts that jensen had on, and whatever other guy lifeguard co-star there was. again, did anyone else on this set even exist beyond you and jensen?

undeterred, the man in front of you holds out a hand. "ryan shaw."

the name rings a bell, but none close enough in your mind to pick up on the meaning of it. you take his hand, still weary, as you lift the bottle to your lips and take a little sip. "i've never heard that name before."

"surely you have." his other hand lifts to wriggle the script clutched between his long fingers. "season two new addition."

one slow blink, and then another, and it clicks. ryan shaw: will dameron's childhood best friend returning to daytona beach after years spent in the city, given a job by dameron himself to get him reacclimated to the beach life.

the slow blinks turn into a slow, wicked smile. he was a minor role, sure, the script writers testing the waters, assumedly, to gauge audience reaction. but you heard will dameron's best friend and all manners of rational thinking left your head.

if jensen could sleep around, so could you, couldn't you? and here was this new little fish in the water, so easily walking up to the shark, daring you to take a bite.

"ryan shaw," you repeat back to him, setting your bottle down on the table beneath the snacks tent you were stood under, "i've been waiting to put a face to that name."

Weekend Ramblings

GelBoys Episode 1

Great first episode. I like that they're using public transport and walking outside a lot, it feels more alive and realistic even if I have no real frame of reference. I like that the nails are telling the passage of time and this is going fast. The first episode spanned 3 months at least judging from that, probably more.The visuals are really good and I really like the editing, and the way it's shot almost makes me feel like I'm watching a documentary. Seems like this will be messy and angsty teenagers kinda bl and I'm ready.

Perfect 10 Liners Episode 16

I'm still comfortable in my hypocrisy and will use this gif whenever it suits me. Cause Faifa is me, in any other show but this one.

There's something about a brooder begrudgingly falling for the ray of sunshine he swore he’d never need, that I just adore. Add to that the fact that the brooder is played by Perth and I'm in uni bl heaven. I loved this arc so damn much. These two make such an adorable couple and Perth and Santa are great together. I'm surprised with their chemistry but also not, cause I think both of them can probably have chemistry with anyone. If they stay a pair for now I'm on board. Although I do enjoy seeing Perth kissing different boys. We had another parental forgiveness moment which I hate but at least she's moving away and I won't have to see her again. I love Faifa and as much as I hate saying goodbye to YothaGun, it's gonna be fun to watch him and Wine. I do hope just like ArcArm, I still get some crumbs from those two.

Boy Next World Episode 6

Say what you will about Mame but she can deliver a sex scene like no one else. I like that Phu has agency here and that there's real communication happening around and during the nc scenes. Boss and Noeul also deliver as usual but I find the dynamic a little too similar to LITA, and I don't love that. I think it happens more when it comes to Noeul, although I concede that I'm often too distracted by Boss's face to notice much of anything at all, but there are moments that I'm seeing Rain instead of Phu. Fake dating seems to be the go-to these days to keep psychos away and I'm not mad about it. That mother though. His stalking tendencies notwithstanding, it’s a wonder Cir is a functioning human at all. I really like the sides and I adore Jin.

Sangmin Dinneaw Episode 7

This show continues to be the weirdest. And I don't know what I did to deserve this but I think I got a double prize today. Amnesia plot my beloathed and some noble idiocy to follow. At least when it comes to the amnesia we were warned. Although I'm not sure when he actually remembered, so he might not have had amnesia at all. Honestly, who knows with this show? Half the time, I have no idea what's happening, and the other half, I wish I didn't. That scene with the sides gave us the usual whiplash, and the scene with the mother was just insane. It's psycho mom's day, apparently. At least with this one, we got to see some mom-on-mom fighting. It's all bonkers but at least there's only one more episode to go. Sangmin better have a damn good reason for leaving, although I doubt it. At least let me have some fluff from these two, cause they are cute. Also why is the hotel dude still breathing?

I love that we suddenly have SO MUCH to speculate and theorize about!

Immediately jumping into long excited discussions, rewatching older episodes and thinking about established rules and potential changes of rules, weighing different theories and reading what other people have to say! I have a few favorite theories for now, but what I want to say about this all is - ohhhhhhh I love that we literally can't know yet. We don't have enough puzzle pieces and I appreciate it how the writers threw multiple different clues at once. I am sure they know what they're doing, but for us now it seems like it could go either way. And I love it.

Adrien revived or not even hurt? Chat Noir's transformation? Ring disappearance at the table? Grandma Graham de Vanily being lowkey suspicious? Lila? Felix and Marinette scheming (seems most likely to me so far) ? Marinette and Plagg scheming? Ladybug's will? Ladybug nervous or confident enough? One fake ring? Both fake rings? No fake rings? No amok? Actually what was the exact Wish again?

God, it's SO FUN. I hope we get to speculate more, I hope we get different clues and I hope we get fooled, surprised, thrilled and disappointed, scared and relieved, that's the life of it! giggling and kicking my feet

But not going further into theories right now, as for the rest of the episode - IT WAS SO ENJOYABLE! Can't even form words about Nathalie (I'm just swept in asukiess's current of thoughts and screams), Adrien's childhood, the house. Gabriel's room all wrapped in cloth (yes yess like ghosts!). Adrinette! I love when Marinette breaks into events undercover lmao, but what I really really loved was that she planned this together with Adrien and Nathalie, Nathalie being hesitant but agreeing to the idea, because she knew it really would be comforting for him. And I haven't even mentioned the grandparents themselves! although we still don't know enough about them but their interactions were something. Grassettes seem fun, GDVs seem cursed and I want to see moreeeee!!

Rex and Eve are legit sm more interesting since they're supposed to be friends for years, then got together, and went through the same shit together. I'd legit rather than them than this. Why did Rex cheat? Why not explore any of these dynamics? Did Kate feel sidelined so she believed Eve and Rex were on a break? How shaky was their relationship?

Get this man in ethics, philosophy, therapy, and pysche classes istg. He truly needs college istg, bro needs education and awarenes. I do not believe he thought he actually thought of Eve, out of anything but guilt, if at ALL. This show feels like it's ACTIVELY trying to lie to me and it's not even doing it WELL? HELLO?

Speaking of Oliver, they way he's better at fighting than Mark, like this is embarrassing. Mark lock in. Mark do better. Mark why is a child showing you up. WHY ARE EXPLICITLY SHOWN MARK IMPROVING AND THEN HE ACTS JUST AS SUCCESSFUL AS S1? HELLO?

I thought the fight against the underground monsters would be a great opportunity for him to be particularly lethal, like Omni-Man and actually show off some proper skills, and introduce Darkwing + Robots helping heros escape while he's distracted. Still can have Mark freak out, but people get reminded whose son he is. Casually shake off blood. Which we get later on (I wish it was cooler so bad, it's still my fav but with a hint of begrudging admittance), but I say why can't we have more feral Mark scenes? Why stop at one battle parallel with Nolan? Have him particularly lethal with monsters since he'll freak out over people, thinking of Angstrom! Let him mimic Nolan's efficiency and like casually dive through a monster's brain. Him freaking out when someone he cares about gets hurt is so dull to me, also? Did the venom work from the centipede????

GoG's breakup was truly so funny because none of these mfs have been meaningfully explored enough to make me shaken up that they're breaking up, or what that even means because their hero ecosystem isn't explored either! What's the stakes here? I don't get to see more dynamics I never got to see? I'm truly heart broken. Oh no. Also Immortal stay annoying me because bro truly invited himself, told everybody to stfu and get out to a team he decided he'd join back up again, and you're so correct he'd make a mf grovel to get back? Immortal don't be insufferable challenge.

Nolan being endeared to her because she's not afraid makes too much sense, omg. He's so baffled he's enraptured, and Debbie truly thinks he is not special for being capable of killing him, people could die randomly, asshole, get in line. I'd love to see how they got together if the show had time, and the potential dynamics from a "take no shit" Debbie and still learning about humanity, and flirting, Nolan.

REAL ASF THO. Like Invincible could be SO far if it was good. Shows where I'm already invested after it outright refuses to live up to it's potential are like catnip to me, I cannot shut up about it. I'm infuriated and enraptured and endeared. Begging everyone to watch this show, no I don't think it's incredible, watch it all anyway.

Please write the mentor Cecil fic of my dreams, if I can get some oneshots done I'd love to write it myself if I can think of some scenes. There's something so interesting about Cecil becoming an incidental (perhaps Mark opens up and Cecil Realizes: Oh, I can Use This) and then intentional mentor figure, (or again Mark insisting he needs to earn Immortal's approval to prove he's not his Dad fr). Like? Thefun extra wound of betrayal if Cecil still uses the whole scream thing! Maybe Robot/Rudy does a scan of him and finds it, and Mark has to conceptualize what it's for, or it's outright used to against him. I believe in Mark being put through the emotional ringer. OOOOOO chewing on this currently, hm, the much a distinct flavor of exactly what you’re talking about, but the potential for more family drama depending on WHO knows. Does Mark know?? Is he waiting every day only to be crushed? Does he confused non-Debbie features with Nolan’s? I suppose I’m not the most enthusiastic about non-power AUs, but I think there’s something very fun to explore about Mark having to settle with, if he knows all his life, he will never have powers? I think the trajectory of his dreams will obviously shift, I can see him still having that distinct fatherly idolization, but perhaps embraces being useful to the GDA? Cecil’s number one intern—only intern—curtesy of nepotism, ha! There is something tickling me about Mark taking the Robin Route/Role for the Teen Team in terms of having no powers, just insane skills, BUT there’s something way more delicious about intern Mark when s1e01 happens and Mark tries snooping around to find out the truth about what happened to his Dad.

I wonder if, with Mark having a whole another father, if they’re more or less distant relationship, depending on WHEN Nolan entered Mark’s life? Like if Debbie met Nolan later for this, or just for fun, they dated once, separated (Mark being born during then), then they happened to stumble into each others lives again and Mark’s already been born, anywhere from tween to teenager so there’s a gap in how close they are. I feel like one important aspect of the whole Family Drama is how close they’re supposed to be, a functional, loving family turned upside down? So I wonder what more distance does. I wonder how Nolan copes when his family is entirely human and he can’t project onto Mark.

and like, despite the deliciously shippable couples it has, Twinkling Watermelon is not a romcom, it’s a fantasy coming-of-age. the theme is family, the main relationship is between Eun Gyeol and his father and while their respective romantic storylines are crucial, they’re not central.

which is nice, on the one hand, because it offers a slightly different (and beautiful) kind of story, but then because instead of being [main couple] > [second couple] it’s [son and dad] > [son’s gf and mom], it ends up letting down Eun Yoo and Cheong-ah a bit and leaving their resolutions a bit rushed / open ended (you know, like how in other shows you’ll see the second couple standing together at the main characters’ wedding but no actual, solid resolution).

so the final scene of the show is primarily a bonding moment and a resolution for Yichan and Eun Gyeol, and you don’t get much of Cheongchan and a very quick last-moment wrapping up of Euneun (and like. what happened to our girls in the years in between?? we need answers!)

pertaining to the idea of tenax’s band of strays i do think it’s touching that the kids are the ones who saved him and waited outside the door to make sure he’s okay. for all tenax claims to be harsh and cruel it’s a fine indicator of his character that the kids won’t rest without him and are there every time he’s in danger.
