This was a great video! But I noticed that you saw the line "Maybe he can still prove his worth to me," in Journal 3 as being out of character for Ford? But I see it as supremely in character, at least for that point in his life, especially on how it relates to one of the core themes of conditional vs unconditional love. The way I see it, thanks to Filbrick and various other factors in his life, Ford's been taught that love is transactional. He's internalized this, but it's not really how he works at his truest self. We know that because despite his attempts to "control his emotions and be logical", and despite all his anger and betrayal, he can't turn that unconditional love he had for Stan off. We see it in how he instantly has love for his niece and nephew the moment he finds out they exist. But he's definitely internalized that love should be transactional, so at the time of the portal incident he believes maybe if Stan jumps through these hoops for him, this will not only save the world but this will mend things between them! Instead, it's what could have killed it for good. Seeing as it's the splitting off point of the Better World AU, and from the comments Rob Renzetti made in your interview with him on what could be Stan's fate in this AU, the defining moment here is: Does Stan still believe in this unconditional love and try to get through to Ford even if it's by lashing out or does he let that belief die and take the journal, with Stan and Ford never reconciling and getting material success at the cost of everything else?

This theme of conditional vs unconditional love runs through the entire show. This is why Stan and Bill are foils (Bill is literally the personification of conditions) and the end of Ford's arc is Stan showing him what true unconditional love looks like. That's why seeing that, realizing the scope of what he lost, and seeing Mabel's unwavering love overcoming everything and bringing Stan back is what it takes for Ford to finally, finally throw his father's worldview in the trash where it belongs.

🩸: Whenever it rains, Mr. Scarletella is always standing right there next to you, holding his red umbrella over your form so you do not become drenched because of the dreary weather. He takes his job very seriously, too, not minding how cold water causes his clothing to cling to his already deathly cold skin. He does it with an ever-present smile, too, watching you with unblinking eyes while he happily follows you around. Mr. Scarletella doesn’t get cold, he typically doesn’t feel any physical sensation in the first place, so getting a little wet while being able to keep you dry is something he doesn’t mind doing for you. If you invite him to join you under the umbrella, he falters for a bit before eventually standing next to you, shielding both of you from the rain (he loves being able to stand that close to you – he can almost feel the warmth radiating from you, and he finds himself craving it even after the two of you have found somewhere to take shelter). 

🩸: If there’s something you express an interest in, whether or not Mr. Scarletella is around when you make the off-handed comment, you’ll wake up to it lying right in front of your door. It’s honestly a bit creepy sometimes, just waking up to the article of clothing you looked at for longer than three seconds or the book whose title you briefly mentioned sitting at your feet when you open the door. In the past, any gift he left used to just be haphazardly placed in front of the door, and it reminded you of when a cat would catch a mouse and bring it to their owner (you’re not going to talk about the time you woke up to a literal human heart waiting for you, though…). However, Mr. Scarletella noticed that humans who exchanged gifts typically had them wrapped in paper, so he started to mimic their behavior, too, in the hopes you would like them more. Sure, his wrap-jobs were bad, almost hilariously so, but it was the thought that mattered. 

🩸: Whenever he looks at you, his pupils further dilate (even more than they usually are – it’s almost to the point where his entire eye is purely black, the red of his irises lost in the dark void of his gaze). Mr. Scarletella loves being able to just look at you, needing nothing more in life. He’ll watch you with an unblinking stare while you do literally anything. Whether it be cleaning your home or making yourself a meal, he will observe you as if you were the most interesting thing to have ever existed. As stated before, Mr. Scarletella is very good at mimicking human behaviors so, sometimes, he’ll ask if he can join you in whatever task you’re doing. He’ll copy the way you clean the floors or perfectly execute chopping the vegetables for the dish you were making after showing him what to do a single time. He’s very pleasant to be with during moments like these since he’s very good at acting like a human most of the time (other times, though – say if you need something from the top shelf – his body will twist and morph in very unsettling ways... It just emphasizes that, even if he’s good at pretending, he still isn’t human at the end of the day).   

🩸: Being with Mr. Scarletella means that you cannot have an unserious relationship, it’s just not in his vocabulary (because he’s obsessive, especially regarding you). He’s devoted to you entirely – body, mind, and soul – gladly letting you have the red umbrella to do with it whatever you wish. He’ll shiver slightly whenever you hold it in your hands, your touch is so strangely gentle as you softly run your fingers along the handle or press a kiss to the unassuming object. It hurts but in a different way. A part of him wishes you would just throw the umbrella to the ground, dig your heel into it, and have him experience a pain that was easier for him to understand… but you don’t. He loves your sweet touches, even if it’s painful and causes his chest to ache. He finds himself wishing he could touch you in that way, too, his ghost-like caresses causing your skin to tingle with static whenever his feather-light hands graze over your flesh (he loves cuddles and loving touches, even if he can’t experience them with you in a conventional sense). 

🩸: If you ever find yourself being bothered by someone who won’t leave you alone or someone who won’t take no for an answer, well… they may or may not end up missing. If you don’t want Mr. Scarletella to take care of anyone who is bothering you for you, you’ll definitely have to explain that it’s not appropriate because of the differences in your cultures – death and murder are common in the other world, after all (I’d also explain to him that he cannot harm or threaten people you care about, either, since he honestly wants you all to himself). This does mean, though, that you know that you’re safe no matter where you are. Mr. Scarletella is always watching you so, if you find yourself in a situation where your safety is at risk, you honestly have nothing to fear. He’ll keep you safe – you’re his love, his world, his reason for living, and he won’t let someone else take that from him.

Thanksgiving with Matt

And the tradition of [Blank Holiday] dating Matt continues on!

Thanksgiving:)

- Doing a little N, M & P Thanksgiving in the office, or alternatively, going to Foggy’s family’s at the butcher because you know his father makes the best turkey & his brother makes an insane holiday cocktail (it’s mostly whiskey, with whispers of apple and cranberry, Foggy has stated) The Nelson’s welcome you with open arms as Matt’s girlfriend. Karen would make probably the best apple pie you’ve ever tasted in your life.

- You & Matt hosting for the first time. You being so nervous about the turkey being done right (considering you’ve never made one in your life and you woke up at 4am to prep it) Matt literally has to force you to get ready before your family arrives (The food was the best everyone has tasted)

- Bringing Matt to your hometown for Thanksgiving. Taking him to your favorite restaurant growing up and introducing him to the staff. Taking him to your favorite coffee shop that actually your favorite drink the *right* way.

- Matt meeting your family!! You always raved about him to your mom and your mom saying “So this is the Matthew that my kid has been gushing over!” And you getting embarrassed and Matt saying something like “gushing over me? Really?” and pinching your side teasing you. Your mom is like, “Oh, almost every phone call is like, “mom Matt did this for me today and it was so cute” and your face going so red and your heart beat quickening and Matt is laughing at your mom putting you on blast. Your dad being so impressed that his child is dating a lawyer that went to Columbia University after dating all the “no ambition” guys before Matt. Your nieces and nephews find him so cool. Your baby niece/nephew keeps trying to grab hold of Matt’s glasses when you’re holding them in your arms. Your cousins saying how good of a guy he is and how much you deserve him. Matt’s drinking beer with your uncle and dad outside as you’re helping your aunt, grandma and mom in the kitchen. (And if you’re the same religion as Matt or adjacent, Matt leads grace at the table and your granny is just swooning over this nice Catholic boy)

- Your parents being traditional and sorryyyy they make you and Matt sleep in separate beds in different rooms. But that doesn’t stop you from sneaking into Matt’s respective bedroom like a teenager to get some intimate time together (very very quietly of course, even though it’s hard given Matt’s talents) (You’re literally biting the sheets to keep yourself from making any noise and you put pillows behind the headboard to stop any banging noise. Old trick)

- Drinking too much wine at Thanksgiving dinner and going up to bed after everyone going home. Kissing Matt goodnight before he goes to bed and you accidentally say “goodnight, I love you” (FIRST TIME SAYING THE L WORD!!!!) and your heart feels like it’s going to leap from your chest and Matt being like “oh!!” and you getting all frazzled like “Oh my god this wasn’t meant to happen this way oh my god I’m- I don’t know why I said that now” and Matt pulling you into his room and shutting the door and kissing you so tenderly and saying, “I love you too. I was too scared to say it first. But, man do I love you. So much.”

Ok here are my thoughts about arcane season 2, buckle up

I wana say, I liked the second season, less about what we saw, more about the story they wanted to tell.

It started fine but as soon as episode 4 came the problem was clear. The pacing was bad. Everything was happening too fast, there was no time for smaller moments. A lot of character development was off screen too.

I've heard they were supposed to have more seasons but decided last minute to cut the show short because 'there are more stories to be told'.

Caitlyn had most of her arc off screen which is such a shame, I really wanted to see how she realized she was being manipulated, I wanted to see her dictatorship era. But we got none of that, it's implied it happened but we didn't get to see it.

Sevika was relevant up until ep4 and then we see her again in ep8. I don't think she has any speaking lines after ep4. Such a waste of her character, she was really interesting.

Isha. She came to the series as suddenly as she left. I have a lot of problems with her character, one of them being that she wasn't introduced organically. She randomly fell on Jinx (by accident). Arcane relies way too much on 'right place right time', on coincidences so, when that can be avoided, it definitely should. Make her fall on top of the first person that passed through on purpose so she won't get hurt (that person being Jinx is the only coincidence here). Her sacrifice felt a bit unearned because we didn't get to see her a lot, and after ep6, they never speak of her again (it affected Jinx sure but they don't even mention her once).

Mel. They did her dirty this season. They speedruned her arc (and the whole thing felt so out of place). I've heard that maybe the next show was going to be focused on Noxus etc which, if it turns out to be true, would be a bad decision. If they are actually planning on making something about Noxus, I'd at least expect Ambessa to be there and also, it would be a great opportunity to learn about Mel and her powers in greater detail instead of whatever we got.

Viktor as the herald, ultimate life form or whatever was so short lived. Make you wonder why they decided to include it only in the last episode instead of implementing a bit earlier.

Vi was also so, useless this season. She did almost nothing. She was a punching bag for the most of it.

Jinx felt a bit ooc, less about what she was doing and more about how there wasn't any time to see her get over Silco's death. Silco had such a negative effect on her mental health (all these hallucinations from s01) but he dies and boom, mentally stable? I would have liked to see her become healthier (it would also tie nicely with getting to know Isha better).

Vander. They brought him back. It was actually foreshadowed in the first season. Him being back is not my problem, on the contrary I think it was a great way to naturally bring Vi and Jinx back together. My problem was how we see him for 2 episodes (and then he 'dies'). It felt like a waste of time honestly, time that could have been used to see something else.

Episode 6 has to be the worst episode of the whole show. The pacing is pretty bad. The events that take place in it feel like 3 episodes, not 1. We get not 1 but 2 different artstyle montages, making the episode look, weird...

The best episodes were probably ep03 and ep07. Both had nice pacing (especially ep07, it felt like it was straight out of s01) and the story explored in them was pretty captivating. But I do have a problem with ep07. It's where Ekko got his 'time powers' from and honestly, they were pretty underwhelming? Also not at all well implemented to the story. We literally see him use them 3 times. 1: when he finds out about them, 2: when he saves Jinx and 3: when he goes back to try not to get captured by Viktor's mannequins. The last 2 on the same episode. That 4-second-limit was never really relevant (at least I don't think it's was). They wasted an entire episode giving him powers only for him to never really use them and for the machine to act as a bomb.

Also I didn't like the dancing scene with Powder and Ekko. I understand the vision behind it but I felt like my TV was dropping frames. It felt choppy, cheap (such a shame for a beautiful scene).

Now, I liked the lesbian sex scene in ep8, I really did, but it felt so out of place. Jinx basically implied she was going to kill herself, Vi was on the verge of tears because she was insecure about how she seemed to only make the wrong choices and then, that scene happens. It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I've seen people compare it to the s01 'Jayce/Mel vs Viktor dying' scene and while I understand where the comparison is coming from it's definitely not the same. In that scene, Jayce didn't know Viktor was dying (he knew about his deteriorating health, but he was clearly shocked and left Mel to go check out on him etc etc).

Also, Caitlyn should have gone down on Vi. I think they image would have been stronger. Vi was at the bottom of the barrel her entire life (literal plot point, being from the undercity etc) so seeing Caitlyn, someone of higher status and power, being the one to 'bow' would just be more powerful. Just a thought.

I just feel like I liked their relationship and dynamics more in s01. They had more casual moments, more natural dialogue. Yes we won but at what cost? Their relationship was so sweet in s01. In s02 it started sweet, turned out to be manipulative on Caitlyns side*, they break up and then they're fine again.

*in ep3 it's clearly shown that while Caitlyn loves Vi she's willing to manipulate her to reach her own goals. That first kiss we see was definitely more of a 'I'm gonna play with your emotions so you don't doubt me' rather than 'let's just kiss now'.

I liked how Jinx cut her hair. The whole 'hair holds memories' and how she was ready to move on. Too sad that scene didn't have the proper gravity it deserved because the lesbian sex was happening (probably) the same time.

Ep9 was, something. I'm conflicted about it. On one hand I really liked how they tied up Viktor's and Jayce's plot lines, on the other hand everything else was so rushed. Caitlyn and Mel were a team (they didn't feel like one honestly), they fought Ambessa and then she randomly died from the black rose. It felt like they just wanted an excuse to kill her. 'She needed to die so Mel could become the wolf' no, not really. She could still be alive, have Mel 'spare her life' or something. It would be more on track with Mel's ideals that way.

Jinx sacrificing herself to save Vi was also so forced**. It felt specifically written so she could 'die'. I do believe that 'Jinx is alive' theory because Caitlyn looking at the vents while holding that monkey head Jinx's bomb had + that air balloon Powder said she'd fly away with are all too specific to be coincidences.

**her sacrifice was forced but foreshadowed. Isha was acting as an 'archetype' of what Jinx had to become. Her whole existence in the show was so Jinx could become an icon for Zauns revolution and for her to sacrifice herself so Jinx could see and do the same, break the cycle.

What really bothered me was how Jayce and Viktor seemed to be the only characters who had a complete story, everyone else had a lot missing scenes (they did too but way less, there never was a point where I thought 'where does this come from?', everythingwas explained about them. I wish I could say the same about the 'arcane', magic). It's so unfair, on the female lead show about 2 sisters for the male characters to be the final focus. Also another thing that bothered me how they did a seemingly better job at writing Ekko/Powder, the straight ship we got to see for 1 episode on a different timeline, rather that Vi/Caitlyn, the lesbian ship AND main focus since they're both main characters from the timeline were following.

Something else, I feel like the score for s01 was better/more memorable than s02. Sure s02 has some pretty good songs but s01 felt more diverse on that? Maybe that's just me.

Kinda lazy how they used the same song for the opening credits while using visuals way too similar (if not the same) to the artstyle of the show. Although, truth to be told, the s01 opening was way too good for any standards, it would be very hard if not impossible to make something better. Still, I feel like they could have done a better job.

Also maybe that's just me but there were a lot of predicable moments. Sometimes a scene would start playing and I'd know exactly where it was going (something I can't say for season 1).

I really liked in s01 how in each episode, before the opening, we got to see some glimpses from the past of each character. It was a great way not to have too many random flashbacks and include these scenes organically in each episode. In season 2 we don't get that. I understand that we already know these characters but it's still something I adored from s01.

What made s01 so appealing was how they handled the story, didn't rush things. How they took their time to make us understand and like the characters. With s02 we didn't get that luxury.

Season 1 was a masterpiece and unfortunately, season 2 didn't meet the expectations.

I still enjoyed watching it but it was definitely not as good as the experience of watching s01.

- This man never seems to sleep. He’s always up early surfing or working out and he’ll have something ready for you to eat when he comes back because he loves taking care of you.

- He always wants to take you out to do something. Try a new food truck, a new shop that opened, or just go out and walk and talk. He isn’t one to shower you in presents, but he’d definitely make a little trinket for you or pick up something small and thoughtful that made him think of you.

- You showed up at HQ after you guys had been together for awhile, planning to surprise him with lunch and he was so giddy and excited to show you around. It was the first someone understood and cared about his work as a partner.

- The interest you showed in his work made him glow, and you won’t find anyone more interested and supportive of what you do than Luca. Whatever it is you wanna do, that man is your personal cheer section.

- The way you got along with the team, bantering and talking and making yourself at home took his breath away. You really were everything he could hope for.

- He isn’t a fantastic cook, and he can be messy sometimes, but he really tries hard to make it up to you and help with household chores. You ask him to wash some dishes or throw in the laundry, he’s right there helping.

- He’s the most intense, passionate love maker and you don’t think you’ll ever not be swept off your feet by it. He fills every kiss and touch with his love and adoration for you.

- And don’t you dare lift a finger and work yourself while you’re having sex (unless you want to, he’d never object). He’s there to serve you and make you feel good and that’s enough for him.

- This man fucking loves your curves. He could drool over your hips and thighs for hours. Like if you’d let him, he’d be between your legs kissing and biting at your thighs because he thinks they’re so delicious.

- He loves showering with you. Mostly to admire you, and he loves washing you, but also to be a goof and fuck around. Using the shampoo to mess with your hair, making shapes. He’s such a dork and it warms your heart.

- This man will have you crying laughing with his antics. Jokes, doing goofy shit with the team, he brings so much laughter into your life. He’s a ray of sunshine.

- He has his down moments though too, and you being there to help him through it or keep him company means the world.

- He knows he isn’t an easy person to be with, but you trying and putting in such effort because you love him never fails to baffle him. That he means that much to someone.

Sketch vs final

Tbh, I don't really like this bc I can't flipping color, but it's okay. I've had this au in my head where wukong and Mac are celestial monkies in the literal sense. Y'know where WuKong is actually the daytime sky and sun while Mac is the moon and nighttime sky or kinda like the diety Nyx from Greek mythology (if you know who she is, I love you).

I was thinking of keeping the rest of the crew normal bc one day I want Mac and wukong to leave the sky for a bit and be found by Mk and Mei and they go on adventures together bc WuKong and Mac don't even know what a butterfly is.

So Mk and Mei and the rest of the crew would teach them about "Earth Walkers" (what WuKong and Macaque call the people who live on earth) and basically many other things and it would just be a cute little found family with a bit of angst and a lot of adventure. There are also festivals to celebrate the sky, aka Wukong and Macaque, and they were really touched to find out earth walkers celebrate and appreciate them.

They go by any Pronouns but usually appear more feminine and like more feminine Pronouns(idk of this is weird, sorry). Also, I would like them to be sisters in this au :D.

I don't know what role heaven will play in this bc I really just wanted to make cute sky WuKong and Macaque drawings, but then my brain started making other ideas, and I got really hooked, I was thinking maybe heaven is scared of them and would try to find ways to get rid of them but the problem is that one, they're immortal, and two killing them would pretty much bring an end to all life on earth. Also I don't know if Mk will be a celestial monkey in this au bc half of me just wants to leave him as a monkey demon kinda like the Canon wukong but a lot less powerful than Canon Mk or leave him a as a human idk :').

Teen titans and Yj cartoons are both different shades of mid. I don't like Starfire in TT at all :/ and Yj just blows. Teen titans is iconic though and I loved it as a kid.

Ziam is real, climb on board

For the first time, we’re experiencing a genuine influx of people looking into Ziam, the real relationship between Zayn and Liam. And honestly it’s about time. It’s always been so beautiful and devoted and consistent and visible to those willing to invest and find out for themselves. It’s also been so unseen and dismissed and a bit buried by Larry too. I’m a Larry too, but right now I’m all about Ziam. I’m really happy Ziam is getting there deserved time seeing some light.

I’m not here to convince anyone. Ziam isn’t new, it has been around and discussed and real since 2012 when we believe their relationship started extending beyond friendship. There is an existing treasure trove that can be sought out by people willing to open their mind and examine it, especially from Zayn and Liam themselves. Right from the start and up until present day. 

The truth is we are experiencing a moment we weren’t expecting. First with Liam’s death. Now with Zayn touring for the first time ever as a solo artist. 

People are interested in Liam and that is a normal reaction. People are noticing a lot of things that don’t make sense and are curious and questioning that. People can’t make sense about his relationship with his “girlfriend”, the public PR performance at his funeral of a select group of celebrities (all aligned with Modest, Simon Jones PR or existing narratives regarding the boys) and of course the narrative around his “son” Bear.

Usually when things don’t make sense, there is a good reason, we know this with Larry too, and so in the same way people should look and critically engage. Gaps can’t always be filled when we are dealing with public media narratives that then clearly don’t align with who a person really is consistently as a human. It's pretty hard work for all involved to contain a decades plus closet, in times like this. That is a big part of what people are noticing with Liam. They should question public narratives and media. Liam wanted to be seen and heard for who he really was, and celebrating and talking about Ziam right now is one of the biggest parts of seeing and knowing Liam. Its not disrespectful if you've done the work to see and know, just like with Larry.

Now we also finally have Zayn touring for the first time ever as a solo artist. Seeing him on stage after a 10 year wait is kind of exhilarating and like any of the boys you get a reminder on stage of who the person really is, really leaning in and hearing the lyrics live and seeing his being. Zayn is very definitely coding to us in a way that he hasn’t been able to do so before. He knew we would be looking and he wants to be seen. He is literally telling us that he is honest and truthful in his music. Zayn’s public narrative has never made sense either, it's all the same closeting stuff. Copy of a copy of a copy.

The narrative set up for Room Under the Stairs was actually quite strange, and in reality it translates very poorly to the lyrics and the emotions. So many gaps and things that don't make sense. In the future I will share some analysis on RUTS. I’ve been immersed in the album non-stop since May. The album to me is mostly about his closet - the pain it has caused him, the effect it has had on his relationship, the pain and effect it has had on his long term partner, the ways in which he has had to reframe his mindset to live within the reality of his closet, the ways he has changed his lifestyle to focus on the simple things in life to help his mental health impacted by his closet (and other things). Yet throughout all that heartbreaking pain, he still talks about his person, his lover, he refers to 'they' in many key lyrics, he brings his partner into the lyrics clearly, lyrics that clearly refer back to past and present times. Its the same person, it always has been in Zayn's lyrics. He tells them and us that he wouldn’t change anything despite all that pain, that their love has been worth it, that he is devoted, that their love was like stardust from the start until forever. The most specific songs relating to his person haven't been included on the tour setlist - How it Feels, The Time, False Starts, Something in the Water and of course Stardust. They are the strongest songs on the album, the ones that have made me cry non-stop for the last 6 months. I suspect he rearranged the setlist, they would have been too hard to sing live. Instead we see a few B sides we wouldn't have expected on tour. I hope more people will listen to RUTS, it's absolutely devastating, empowering and life affirming and you can really see and feel who Zayn is.

I think the reason beckory works well is that tony has a habit of getting self righteous and in his own head about things but Gregory isnt afraid to tell him off or call him out about things. the point of tony in ggy is that nobody ever told him that how hes treating other people isnt good, so that's why he got so bad. but tony would be close to Gregory and have every rational reason in the world to listen to Gregory so when he would say something like "you're treating ellis badly and that's not what a good friend does, you need to do better" hed actually listen and take it into account and improve himself
