but also like. guys you don’t need to leave the minecraft youtube community bc one person is bad to clarify. like. shelby is a minecraft youtuber. a lot of her friends are minecraft youtubers. those friends are supportive and as far as we know all believe her. the vast majority of minecraft youtubers are like. fine. this shit is something that Happens because Abusers are Manipulative, going to another hobby will Not shield you from anything and you’re not immoral for liking something bad people also liked. which is. one of the biggest video games ever. like in this situation no one was knowingly harbouring an abuser and it seems everyone was supportive. this is just a case of some people being shit, not anything to do with mcyt. hell, the guy hasn’t been on minecraft in like a year lmao.

i fully understand why the content might be uncomfortable to you guys now but like, please don’t self flagellate and cut yourself off from an entire genre of media because of one guy again. i saw that happen after the dream stuff and a lot of people ended up losing important things because they made rash decisions and felt like they Had to leave. but please. take one deep fucking breath. this has happened before. this has happened so much before, and in ways far worse than this. because abusers, unfortunately, exist. you should not feel guilty for being manipulated by a manipulative abuser, don’t blame yourself. do what you have to, but please, please keep in mind that the majority of minecraft youtube is fine. it is fine to continue engaging with it. it’s fine to be manipulated by an abuser and it’s not your fault. please don’t make rash decisions and end up losing things you care deeply about and being unable to get them back. distance yourself all you want, but please be careful to not do so out of emotional self harm from the guilt. that’s something this fandom encourages far too much- even outside of this- and it’s unhealthy and anyone expecting it of you is cruel.

"It had been my third week at the academy when I met Jovan. He had approached me– the first of my peers to do so– and asked my name. I told him, and he responded by saying that my accent sounded funny. I promptly told him to kriff off.

At first I thought it was pity, the way that he followed me around, shoving his offered friendship in my face. He tried helping me with my studies, he introduced me to his friends, he even– on a number of occasions– lied to our superiors to help get me out of trouble. Eventually– after a painfully long time– I realized that these weren’t actions taken out of pity. It was simply rather that Jovan was kind. 

I was unused to kindness; the lower levels were harsh, nobody ever wanted to extend a helping hand, and even if they wanted to it was unlikely they could afford it. Jovan was kind for the sake of it. 

Our relationship was at first one of stolen kisses in dark corridors and fleeting looks from across classrooms. Even after the juvenile giddiness had passed, I found that Jovan had become a constant in my life that I dared not let go of. His family had become my own; his mother called me ‘son’, and his dad taught me how to fish (or at least he attempted to). My life had become completely tied to his, and I was perfectly content to have it that way. 

Years down the line we reached a point where the empire had changed us both for the worse. It was after I began ISB training I realized his kindness had become conditional, he’d become selfish, and– dare I say– entitled. What I failed to realize at the time was how I, too, had changed drastically thanks to imperial propaganda and rhetoric; I spent my days working myself to the bone, and the starry-eyed wonder that I’d joined the academy with was long gone, replaced by ambition and apathy. 

Our breakup was messy. It was so long ago that I honestly don’t remember what exactly had caused it, but I do remember how in the following months I was overcome with a constant, all-encompassing rage.

At 24 I was livid, because if things had just gone better, I would have married him.

At 46 I cannot put into words how glad I am that I didn’t."

then we put them nicely onto a rebloggable post, give people different color options and shapes, throw in lil graphics to give it a certain flair

I stopped making icons for months because my posts would get like 13 notes (most of them likes) and yet I'd see the icon be used by more than 13 people - NONE OF WHICH LIKED OR REBLOGGED THE POSTS

I've even seen people take my icons (again who didn't like or reblog the original post) and edit them and use them for something else WITHOUT MY PERMISSION or give me credit

We need more engagement in this fandom!

So, as the title says, because I was thinking about this - I love this manga with all my heart as you very well know, and the main reason I started translating is because I wanted more engagement in the fandom, which was pretty much dead. Well, it still kind of is, which brings me here lol

I tried to keep this blog translations only to keep everything more in order and make it easy to find the various chapters and all, and I kept all my theories and ramblings either in the tags or on my main blog, except for the times I got asks.

But I would love for this fandom to be more active! I wanna talk about theories and headcanons and ships and all that! I want this fandom to start living again :')

So I was wondering - would you people like it if I started also posting about that kind of stuff? Reblogging fanarts, posts, fanfics or whatever I see around? Would you like to engage more in the fandom? I'm asking because: 1) maybe you'd prefer it if this blog stays translations only, kinda like an archive; 2) maybe there aren't many people who actually wants to engage in fandom activities anyway lmao

I'm asking honestly! I just really would love for this fandom to be active again :')
