Minor Announcement, nothing too big-

So, my college had a blood drive event going on yesterday. I had not donated before then, but I had always wanted to do so. Welp, I went, filled in the needed information, gave them my blood, then I left.

Then on my way downstairs (they held the event on the fourth floor of the main building), I fainted in the elevator. Luckily, one of my close friends volunteered to join me and this wasn't her first time donating, so she caught me, helped me out of the elevator and got me some help.

I am feeling alright right now, it was just that was my first time ever fainting. I am not dizzy or in pain, but I still feel a little drained from yesterday. So if I don't respond to roleplays or DMs right away, that's why.

Donated plasma again today. The nurse told me my plasma was a good healthy colour. That's a normal occurrence.

The nurse also told me that they found a kink in one of the tubes on the machine, and that it may have damaged some of the red blood cells being returned to my body, and that if I notice any discolouration in my urine I should seek urgent medical attention immediately. Thats not a normal occurrence.

#I also got given a waterbottle and a pen because this was my 10th donation #celebrate a milestone #that was not a normal occurrence either #also there was problems with the pressure cuff (which was probably caused by the kink in the tube)#which meant that it was getting really tight #and alarms went off #and the nurses decided to terminate my donation early #that was also not normal #i cant remember if i had a tag to filter out my blood donation posts #lets try #smidge donates blood

just when i decide to start dressing more punk i discover that i have apparently gained a tiny bit of weight so my pair of black shorts (already tight on me) no longer fit me at all comfortably

No, y'know why else we need gender neutral bathrooms? Because there's always a line for the women's bathroom and never for the men's.

Like it seems common sense to make two identical sized bathrooms for men and women but. it. is. not. Female bladders are smaller on average so women have to pee more often, not to mention the fact that going to the bathroom to pee takes longer for women usually (an urinal is a lot faster). So if there are as many toilets in the men's room as in the women's bathroom, the women will have too little space and the men too much. (And usually the men get more because of the aforementioned urinals)

Therefore gender neutral bathrooms with closed off stalls and maybe a small room with urinals on the side.

#like at my korfball club the men's room and the women's room are the same size #but the men have 4 urinals and a regular toilet and the women 2 toilets #this has not been thought through #lgbt+#<- adjacent like my argument is actually for the people who do not care about lgbt+ people but it would benefit them #feminism #imagine how much more time men have because they wait so much less for bathrooms #anyway so I have on many occasions went to the men's toilet because fuck waiting if there's a free toilet right there #especially when there's just two doors with a regular toilet behind each there's literally no difference #oh well the men sometimes don't get a bin #which can be a problem if you're menstruating #which is another reason why we need gender neutral bathrooms so that every bathroom gets a bin #good for transmen and non-binary people who menstruate and also for cis men who need to change bandages #a thought that occurred to me when I had to get rid of the bandage I got after donating blood #like my blood is safe otherwise I wouldn't be able to donate but still cleaner to drop it in the special blood bin #anyway all new buildings should only build gender neutral bathrooms #I can't get over the fact I called the bin in the toilet the blood bin just now #I made an original post

#for the record #the last time i gave blood (8 weeks before) i was A Fool #i had like. half a sandwich before the appointment. and i’d slept poorly #so after about five minutes i started getting reeeeaaaaalllllllyyyyyy dizzy #so we had to stop before i passed out #but this time! i had a bowl of pasta with sauce and a v8 and lots of water beforehand!#so it went smoothly and i completed my donation #got an a+ in donating blood! because that’s my blood type!#stupid joke but i love it #personal #pointless posting #also it’s my first time doing an image id! pls let me know if there’s anything i should fix #going to try to do it more often

I know it's bc a lot of medical professionals often don't have much of a clue or awareness abt trans ppl but I do find it kind of funny now that I "pass" as a dude when they assume smth about my body or experiences when it's sooo otherwise. like. I know general statements work for the cis majority but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the minority is still out there

Christened my mandolin with blood today. Btw.

#donated blood today & they pricked my middle finger to test my iron #(13.1 btw im Fe.rocious)#and when i got home i saw my mandolin and was like Hell Yeah Brother #took th ebandaid off my fingertip cause it'd just get in the way y'know #plucked out a few tunes #looked down to see blood on the fretboard #Ah.#so then i put the bandaid back on and went & cleaned it off #also i still haven't fixed the broken strong #i've just been playing without it #but barely #because it hurts SO MUCH more to fret that single high e string than when they're paired #like i'm garroting my finger. it's awful #so i will actually have to figure out how i want to fix it. :/
