eighteen weeks pregnant

"Y/n Y/l/n." Both Y/n and Chris look up and see their usual OB waiting by the door. Chris grabs Y/n bag and they both walk towards her. "Hey, you two!" She says cheerfully. "Hello, how are you?!" Y/n says. "I'm well, how are you and the baby?" She asks. "We've been good." She smiles, as she follows her. "Dad? How about you, how've you been?" She opens the door to the room they'll be in. "Pretty good!"

"Alright, so today will be like any other check up. But, I'll be able to see the gender of the baby. And, from what I remember from our last conversation you guys want me to write it in an envelope, correct." She asks the couple. "That's right!" They both nod. "Okay, Y/n go ahead and roll your shirt up for me." The OB gets the gel ready. "Ready? It's gonna be a bit cold just like those other times." She squeezes some gel onto Y/n's belly and she flinches at the cold gel. "Let's see here," She turns up the volume and the room fills up with the sound of a heartbeat. "There's the heartbeat, a very strong one." She giggles. Y/n gasps and looks at Chris who is looking at the screen then looks back down at her and hold her hand.

"That's crazy, my god." He mumbles. "Okay, here we have ten toes, they're all there, eyes, nose, mouth, ears." She points every one out. "At this stage, the baby can finally start to pick up on some sounds so it's great to start talking to them if you haven't already. The baby can also stretch, yawn, and make facial expressions. But looks like they're relaxing right now." They all laugh. Chris had already known all of this, thanks to the many apps he has downloaded. "Alright, I'm going to flip the screen to me to see the gender, any preference you guys have or think the baby is?" She moves the hand piece around Y/n's belly.

"Nope, we're fine with either." Chris says, "Yep, but I just have a feeling it's a girl. Not sure why but, if it's a boy I'll be the same amount of excited!" Y/n says. "Oh, okay, I know what they are. Let me go print the report out. You two want pictures?" They nod. "Here's a paper towel, hon. You can wipe it off and put your shirt back in place, I'll be right back." She hands her a handful of paper towels before she leaves the room.

"I'm excited! We're going to the bakery after this, right?" Y/n says, as Chris takes the dirty paper towels from her and throws them in the small trash bin. "Yeah, and we'll get to find out what the baby is! I'm equally excited as you are." He plants a few kisses onto her lips as he rubs her belly. A knock at the door brings them apart and the OB walks back inside the room. "Here are those pictures, and the gender of your baby is in here. Congratulations you two. I'll see you again in a couple of weeks. Enjoy your day!"

"Thank you!" They both walk out of the room and back to their car. At the bakery, ran by an elderly couple, they walk in and the sweet smell of baked goods makes them hum. "Smells so good in here." Y/n practically drools. "Chris! Y/n! Is it time?" The elderly lady, Jamie, squeals as she sees who has walked into her bakery. "Hi, Jamie! Yes, it's time." Chris laughs. "Here you go." Y/n hands her the envelope with the gender inside. "I'll be back in a few!" She says before disappearing into the back.

Chris and Y/n absolutely loved this bakery. They stumbled upon it a couple of months ago and never went back to any other bakery. A few weeks ago at their last appointment when they found out they were going to be able to know the gender the following appointment, they came to the bakery and places and order for a small cake for two people max and two of their big cupcakes. Jamie and Hank were excited at the thought of making their gender reveal cake for the young couple. The two had baked the cake and cupcakes earlier in the day and waited for the young ones to come in with the gender. All they needed to do was frost the right cake.

With one pink and one blue cake and two pink and two blue cupcakes sitting right in front of them they opens the envelope to see. "Don't be too loud, Hank. They're right outside." The old lady warned her husband. "Just open it!" She carefully teared the envelope open and saw the words of the gender in its corresponding color. "Oh well isn't that exciting, I knew it!" Hank said. "We both did, dear. Now come on let's frost them, don't want to keep them waiting too long."

"Here are the two cupcakes, and the cake!" Hank says as he comes out from the back. "Thank you so much, you two!" Y/n takes the bags from him. "Y/n, here the envelope. I sealed it back up." Y/n retrieves the sealed envelope from her. "Thank you!" Chris takes the bags from her. "Congratulations you guys! Hope to see you soon!" They both wave. "Oh we'll definitely be back!"

"It smells so good, we should've gotten some of the chocolate croissants. I ate the last one yesterday night." Y/n frowns as she places the bag with the cakes on top of the island counter. "I can run by later if you want me to go." Chris says wrapping his arms around her. "Thank you, you're the best." She kisses him. "Come on, let's cut the cake!"

Chris props up his phone on a tripod as Y/n takes a seat on one of the stools. "Okay, it's recording." Chris says, as he sits down on the stool next to her. He carefully takes the cake out of the box and sets it on the counter. "Oh, it's so pretty." She gasps, seeing the cake for the first time. "Alright, future child of ours. It's Mom and Dad and today we're finding out what you are! Boy or girl?" Chris says into the camera. "Mommy thinks you're a girl and I have no clue but I'll be over the moon for either. You can do the honor." He hands Y/n the knife. "Okay, let's close our eyes!" She tells Chris. "Careful, babe." He closes his eyes. "I'm cutting it, okay, next side!" She slices the cake. "Ready?"

"One, two, three!" Chris counts and Y/n picks up the slice once they open their eyes.

It's pink!

"It's a girl, oh my god. You were right!" Chris automatically gets up, holding onto his hat as it almost falls off. "Chris, holy shit!" She drops the slice back into place and Chris engulfs her in a hug. "We're having a girl!" He mumbles in her neck "I can't believe it!" The recording of the camera long forgotten. "This is crazy, can't believe you were right." Chris looks back at the cake, the pink crumbs seeping through. "A mini you, baby. Oh my god!" He covers his face with his hands tears welling up in his eyes. "Stop, you're making me cry." Y/n starts bawling. "I'm so happy!" Chris wipes his eyes and hugs Y/n who is sniffing.

Minutes later, they sit back down and try the cake. "Mm, delicious." They pick at the cake with a fork. "Oh! We're still recording!" Y/n points at his phone with her fork, dropping some crumbs in the process. "Oh, well! Looks like you're a girl! We're so happy and we can't wait to meet you, our little girl!" They cheer.

After eating half of the cake together, Chris facetimes Matt and Nick. "Hi, where's Y/n?" Nick says as he answers the call, still waiting for Matt to join. "Hello to you too." Chris scoffs and Y/n giggles besides him. "Hi, Nick. I miss you!" Y/n says as Chris presses the ring button on Matt's square. Seconds later Matt's face comes into view. "I didn't answer the first time because I'm on the fucking toilet." Matt's voice echos. "Are you guys doing anything later today?" Chris ignores Matt's words. "Nope, jus' staying home." Nick fixes his nose ring looking at himself through his square. "What he said." Matt says.

"Great, come over whenever you guys can." Chris says, Y/n leaning her head on his shoulder. "Why?" Nick says. "Do you not want to see me?" Y/n scoffs. "Of course I do!" He says. "Just come over!" Chris rolls his eyes at his brothers' stubbornness. "I'll make the pasta I always make for you guys." Y/n bribes them. "Oh! Nick start getting ready!" The call ends a few minutes later. "Can't believe I bribed them with pasta."

Both Chris and Y/n wanted to catch Matt and Nick off guard with the gender. Whenever they asked when they would be able to know the two always shrugged, already knowing the answer. "Let me go put the pasta to boil." She gets up and Chris jokingly swats her ass. "Chris!"

Just as the pasta is ready, Chris' phone starts to ring. "Hello, okay I'll buzz you guys in." He hangs up. "They're here." He jogs to the buzzer by the front door before unlocking the door and going back to Y/n to go over the plan. "Hi, Y/n!" Nick walks through it door and walks towards the kitchen. "Hi, Nick!" She hugs him. "I smell the pasta." He sniffs the air. "Do you want some already? Hey, Matt." Y/n says as Matt comes to give her a side hug. "Please, I'm starving."

Thirty minutes after they've all finished eating, they offer them the cupcake. "You guys want a cupcake?" Y/n asks. "Sure." Both Nick and Matt say at the same time. Chris walks to the fridge, and takes out the two individual boxes. "Here, but take a bite at the same time." Nick looks confused. "The hell? Why?" Chris groans. "Just do it." They open up the box of the cupcake and peel back the cupcake sheet. "You guys aren't having one?" Matt says. "No, we had one earlier." Chris goes to stand next to Nick.

As they go to take a bite, Y/n takes out her phone and starts recording. Matt pulls back from taking a bite and looks at the inside of the cupcake furrowing his eyebrows. "Why is it pink inside?" He chews. "Mine too- wait! No way!" Nick yells and gasps. "What?" Matt gets scared widening his eyes. "They're having a girl!" Nick throws his cupcake in the box and hugs Chris and then goes to Y/n to hug her. "Wait- Really?!" Matt smiles looking back at the bitten cupcake. "Yeah! We found out today!" Y/n giggles, and stops recording to hug Nick back comfortably. "Congrats, holy shit!" He daps Chris up and gives him a hug.

"I knew it! Matt owes me a hundred dollars." Nick goes back to his seat and takes a quick picture of the cupcake for memories before finishing it. Matt goes up to Y/n and hugs her telling her congratulations. "You thought it was a boy, Matt?" Y/n says, pulling away from him. "Mhm, I just had a feeling, not sure why." He goes back to bit seat and does the same as Nick.

"You're gonna have a little queen, oh my god." Nick laughs at his own joke.

Little Angel.

Summary: while dinning with the whole Sturniolo family, you and your husband Nick decide it’s a great time to announce your plans to adopt a baby. +a couple of cute pictures I found on pinterest.

Tw: cursing, anxious reader.

I turn off the car and let out a big sigh, I’m nervous, more than that, I’m anxious. I look at my hands on the steering wheel and consider turning back, but I can’t. I feel one of Nicks hands on my thigh.

‘’It’s okay, honey. It will be fine.’’ He reassures me.

‘’I know, I’m just nervous.’’

‘’We are ready, we have talked about this a lot. Plus, the adoption process is almost done, we have to tell them.’’

‘’I know, I know. It’s just a big step in our lives, we are going to start a family. I’m gonna be a dad, I’ll get to take care of daughter with the love of my life, it just seems like a fantasy.’’

‘’I know. It’s wonderful, I’m nervous too, but we are together in this. Plus, you know my mom loves the idea of grandkids.’’ He kisses my cheek and pats my thigh. ‘’We have to go inside. They are waiting.’’

As I make my way to the door I look at my hands that hold the desert me and Nick picked for the dinner. I see Nicks hands with a gift bag, inside of them there are silly shirts with personalized writing on them, Nick was the one with the idea to surprise his brothers with a ‘’best uncle in the world’’ shirts, and then though: why not my parents too?

So now we are here, inside the house. I’m on the kitchen helping serving the food, I hear my father-in-law talking with Nick about how is our life going. I see Justin entering the front door with a bottle of wine in hand. It’s a lot going on, and the pressure on my chest comes again.

‘’Are you feeling, okay?’’ Matt who was also helping on the kitchen looks at me.

‘’Yeah, all good. Just got a little dizzy, that’s all.’’ He nods and tells me to drink a glass of water. I do, I get a glass with cold water and walk to the dinning room, sitting besides Nick. He looks at me and gives me a warm smile, wrapping one arm around me comforting me without knowing.

After a couple of minutes everything it’s served on the table, the wine is open, everyone is chatting and laughing. It was an amazing dinner; the food was delicious; the conversations were amazing. And as I was making my way into the kitchen to bring out the desert, I hear Nick speak loud and clear ‘We have something to tell you’.

‘’Shot it out!’’ Chris says.

‘’Well, it’s kind of a long talk.’’ He looks at me and I nod putting the box of desert on the table, going back to sit besides him.

‘’It’s okay, take your time.’’ Marylou looks at us with a kind smile.

‘’Well, ad you know. We have been together for a while and we have been talking about… about our future and what we want in it, so after long conversations we decided that we want to have kids. We are currently in the process to adopt a baby girl.’’ Nick talks, I can tell that he is a bit nervous, but his words are confident and he looks at everyone in the table while doing it.

‘’OH MY GOD!’’ Marylou stands up and runs up to us, Nick stands up and hugs her, I do it too. I see the faces of shock and the smiles on everyone face.

‘’That’s amazing. I’m so happy for you guys.’’ Chris stands up and hugs the both of us, Matt does the same, Justin and James too.

Now we are sitting in the living room. A few tears polling in my eyes, a few tears running down my parents in law faces, we are watching pictures of Nick when he was a kid, talking about what a responsibility is to take care of a kid, to love and guide them. We eat the desert as we show them pictures of the girl and the nursery we build for her. It was so wholesome. Then I stood up and handed out the shirts, everyone laughed and put the shirts on. It was amazing to be a part of this family, and it was even more beautiful to be able to make it bigger.

Dear Lucien, Dear Elain: Reveal and Q&A

Before reading this post, make sure you go and read the final update to Dear Lucien, Dear Elain. Under the cut will not only be the reveal of who wrote who, but also a Q&A inspired by some of your questions of the writing process that myself and @crazy-ache took while writing this collaborative fic.

In our poll, you all were evenly split, 50-50, on who you thought wrote Elain and Lucien. Which really tickled us.

Now, to reveal (which maybe you already know if you read the fic lol)....

We also asked you all what some of your questions were related to our writing process since this was both a collaborative fic and a very unique style (epistolary). It was definitely experimental for us. But we had so much fun writing it. It was really us stretching some of our creative, writing chops. And the epistolary style really was a great medium for writing a collaborative fic together.

Q&A with crazy-ache and zenkindoflove

How did you choose which character to write.

Crazy-ache: I chose to write for Lucien because I felt most comfortable in his head! I had dived deep into his psyche and motivations in a few of my recent works. I also had this vision in my head that Lucien is a very poetic, romantic writer given his rakish and silvertongue ways. My roots in writing are in poetry and I tend to be a flowery, verbose writer, so I felt like I could naturally tap into Lucien’s style. I believe I asked to be Lucien first and had a good inkling that Zenkindoflove had the stronger grasp on Elain’s character. She went above and beyond in giving Elain’s character and development the justice it deserves. 

Zenkindoflove: I was very relieved when Crazy-ache declared she wanted to write for Lucien because as soon as we came up with this idea, I knew I wanted to write Elain's letters. I think she provided the level of poetry and devotion that was necessary to convey in Lucien's letters. For me, I have always been an introspective writer. I like to be inside character's heads and have them actively work through their feelings. And for Elain, this exercise felt like it was an exploration into her working through her feelings for Lucien. Where I think Lucien has always been clear on his feelings for Elain. Or at least he's been sitting with them longer than Elain. I also relate a lot to Elain (and probably project a lot too though I argue that especially in her case where we haven't gotten her POV, authentic writing requires it a bit). I've always felt more comfortable in my other fics writing from Elain's POV.

General process/approach to writing

Zenkindoflove: We decided that the easiest way to write the fic would be to pick a character, stick to that character, and take a ‘yes and…’ approach to writing much like in improv or role playing. We very much treated it like we were the characters and writing each other letters. I would get so giddy when I saw I had mail because it felt like Lucien was actually writing me 😂. After we wrote the first two letters, we came up with a general plot that we wanted to follow once we knew the set up was working. We didn't know how many letters that would entail but we knew that we wanted to try to stay as canon compliant as possible and end on Nessian's mating ceremony where that would be the first time they would talk in person. For topics that were discussed, that was almost entirely unprompted and generally came from us answering each other's letters as the characters. So the emotional development was fairly organic throughout the whole process.

Crazy-ache: Something I want our readers to know is how organic this entire process was for us. What you read from each character is also mostly what we read as well. So we experience the same feelings of giddiness, sadness, disappointment, etc as you did. We just happened to have an idea of where the story was going, but not the words that would take us there on the journey. We truly got inside our respective character’s heads and created this story for you. It’s been one of the most fun, passionate writing exercises I’ve ever participated in, and I hope that rings true in your reading. 

Curious to know if either of you had veto power for when the other wrote something you didn’t like, or how you handled any differing opinions (if you even had any) on what the characters might say. 

Zenkindoflove: For the most part we didn't have many disagreements. A lot of our conversations consisted of us brainstorming or working through the logic of certain situations. The hardest situation to work through was what we did for Starfall. We knew we wanted to have this angsty moment where Elain stands up Lucien because of a vision, but we were working through the logic of how she could accomplish this without Lucien feeling her panic through the bond and coming to find her. That consisted of a lot of back and forths and crazy-ache wanted to make the situation even angstier by having Azriel actually be involved (only flying her away) and it contributing to Lucien's feelings of paranoia that there was someone else! That was the one time I said absolutely not because I didn't want us to go too hard because it was already a gut punch. Also I had to write the letter explaining everything! 😂

Crazy-ache: Yes Zenkindoflove had veto power for that situation and the next day I was like what was I thinking 😂 But it truly was a collaborative experience where we built off each other’s ideas. When it came to the letters, we had no idea what the other would write (other than an overarching plot we had initially agreed upon), but we respected each other’s creative decisions and just went with it! 

I wonder if either of you had a line that the other’s assigned character just had to say. Did you talk about this prior?

Zenkindoflove: Mostly this did not happen except for setting up some plot stuff. Like, hey did you get your Starfall invitation? That kind of stuff. We sometimes gave each other a few edits after reading. Such as if there was something that felt not properly addressed (cause let's be real, these letters got long at a certain point) that we knew would be good for setting up the next letter. Oh, in the beginning, we did have a really hard time thinking of the questions they would ask each other and we often referenced those lists on the internet of like 100 questions to ask on a first date. Those kinds of things hahaha.

Crazy-ache: Agreed, there was nothing we requested or assigned the other character to say in their letter. Everything we wrote was 100% true reaction to what the other person put in the letter. But like Zenkindoflove said, we would give each other small bits of feedback. Like hey, I think it’s little early to bring that up. Or, I think we need more on X. In fact, the line a lot of people seem to really like from Lucien wouldn’t exist if it hadn’t been for Zenkindoflove pushing me for more on one letter. I remember being like ugh you’re right you’re right….and I sat back down and worked on it some more. And I’m so glad she did because that’s when I came up with this line and paragraph: 

"Perhaps the Mother knew we would not be ready when our paths first crossed—our hearts, our minds, our circumstances—and so she gave us this immediate, unbreakable connection to ensure we never lost each other along the way." 

Zenkindoflove: Specifically I remember Crazy-ache holding me back from Elain bringing up the bond too soon which was 100% correct and I was getting too eager. And I pushed her in the end for Lucien to say “love" more since Elain had been using it after her breakdown. Which I think shows a lot of balance in how we approached emotional development.

Favorite letter you wrote?

Zenkindoflove: My favorite was definitely the last letter. It was challenging because I essentially had to write it as Elain telling Lucien events he already knew because he experienced them too. I wanted people reading to get the information they needed to know to visualize how the night went but make it feel like an authentic letter Elain would write. I also got to lean fully into Elain being as romantic as possible about her feelings for Lucien.

Crazy-ache: I am going to cheat and say 2 letters. The majority of my letters were written in one sitting, really emulating what it would be like for Lucien to sit down and read Elain’s letter and then just write his reaction immediately. But the two letters I sat on for a while….1) THE Starfall letter where we learned Elain stood him up and 2) the letter where he responds to her explanation for why. The starfall letter I was just so excited to write because I knew it would catch everyone in surprise. And the response was also exciting because I really, really enjoyed exploring what the bond meant to Lucien. 

Most challenging letter you wrote?

Zenkindoflove: It was definitely the letter after Elain stood Lucien up and she responded to his very angry curt letter. Crazy-ache sent me his letter and I was immediately overwhelmed even though I knew it was coming. I literally could not stand not answering his letter immediately. I just was so upset haha. And then as I wrote Elain’s letter, I had a complete meltdown in messages to Crazy-ache where I cursed SJM for the SF bonus chapter and making me have to explain the almost kiss. I think I said to her, “I feel like I cheated on Lucien but i didn’t!!!!!” Like, I was a mess you guys. Which is probably why it ended up the way it did - this stream of consciousness. I was imagining Elain just utterly broken, crying at her desk, writing the letter frantically, desperate for Lucien and hoping he would still write to her. With her sad little corsage on her wrist. 

Crazy-ache: The hardest one for me was Chapter 6 after Elain reveals Lucien had misunderstood her discomfort to the bond and she sorta calls him out on that. I really tried to get into his head the best I could for these letters--and I imagine hearing Elain say she always had desired him even when it was confusing and complicated would be overwhelming to read. Like the world just shifted for him because that wasn’t what he imagined…and after you have accepted a certain amount of love and affection, it can be even harder to accept more when it is presented to you. I was balancing all these things when writing his response and that would took me the longest to put together. 

Favorite line the other person wrote? 

Zenkindoflove: Crazy-ache is SO poetic in her writing. Especially as Lucien. Choosing one is incredibly hard. I will choose a few but know that I don’t even know if these are really my favorite favorite because so many of her lines were just BEAUTIFUL. 

“I take all matters and concerns regarding your trip very seriously. I will gladly accompany you across the courts, where you can trust I will be unhurried, diligent, and thorough in the pursuit of your greatest pleasures. I simply could not live knowing you were in the slightest disappointed, and will not rest until I know you are quite satisfied.” - the innuendo!!!

“I have done my best to be loyal, dutiful, and honorable. Only to turn around and discover my actions have only proceeded to write me as a villain in their narratives for those very attempts at doing what is right. There are reminders of my arrogance and recklessness every time I look in the mirror. I have certainly paid the price. You deserve to know these facets of me as well, most especially the bitter, pathetic parts of me.” - such a good summary of Lucien’s character and how he sees himself

“To put it bluntly, yes, your mere existence hurt me. Because my soul aches for you in ways I had never known it could hurt. What was painful and difficult was just how badly I wanted to know you beyond all reason and that terrified me. You, my lady, still terrify me.” - PAIN

“Please, I beg of you, to not mourn any fate of mine. I have survived worse possibilities thus far, and that was before you were mine. Before you were my reason to survive, to fight, to live and breathe. There is nothing that can keep me from you.” - THE ROMANCE

“Elain, if the bond is the sun, then you are the warmth of its light.”

“Fire may live inside my veins, but it is your actions and words that have sparked a flame to rival the sun, where I burn and burn and burn for all of you.” 

“Perhaps the Mother knew we would not be ready when our paths first crossed—our hearts, our minds, our circumstances—and so she gave us this immediate, unbreakable connection to ensure we never lost each other along the way. When I told you I wanted an anchor, someone to ground me, the truth is I wanted it to be you.”

Crazy-ache’s favorites: 

“I suppose, I will have to trust in your wealth of experience and your steady hand to guide me through these desires. I would welcome a long, thorough exploration, as my previous travels ended too soon for my liking. So, I think it would please me to spend sufficient time, discovering new sights and experiences, and some clever bouts of spontaneity, to the point that I am tired and sated.” - NOT APPRECIATED ENOUGH 

“You call yourself disfigured, as if your scar could take away from the handsome features of your face or the ethereal quality of your essence. If anything, your scar is a story of a life of loss and daring, adding to the mystery and allure of your draw. I wanted to know immediately who marked you so I could cut out their eye as well. Because when I looked at your face for the first time, I knew you were mine.” - PLEASEE i will never forget elain wanting to cut a bitch

Since most of you chose number 3 I'm going to do a rafe cameron blurb/imagine.

Summary : Rafe thinks braiding hair is easy, until he tries and finds out its harder than he thinks

This is the song I listened to while writing this, it doesn't fit the blurb, but I liked that music (not listening to lyrics) for the soft tone of this imagine/blurb ⤵️

It was a Saturaday, you had just gotten out of the shower with rafe and you were braiding your long hair to get it out of your face, and you had a party you were going to later tonight and your wave pattern was to unpredictable, so you wanted to make sure there would be waves in your hair. Rafe had just gotten dressed coming out of the closet throwing on a shirt and sat on the edge of the bed staring at you through the mirror.

"What are you doing?" you giggle as you catching him staring at you braiding your hair. "Watching you braid your hair. Can I try?" he asks all innocent and cute. "I don't know baby, it's harder than it looks." you tell him not sure if he would be able to do it. "Come on, Princess, it can't be that hard." so you obliged letting him braid your hair.

You sat on the floor, him sitting on the bed behind you. Your hair was already mostly dry, which would make it more difficult for him. You giggled at the thought. As he started to section of the 3 parts to your right braid, he had already started to struggle, you could see him getting confused and slightly angry in the mirror in front of where the two of you sat.

He was so confused, how could you section it off and braid it so quickly and simply and it flow like smooth silk through your fingers, while he was sitting here creating knots and messing up your hair trying to section it! "You struggling babe?" you retorted playfully. "No....... WAIT!! Your hair's dry! You braided your hair when it was wet and now your making me braid it while it's dry?!" he (playfully) angrily shouts at you. "Yeah, you just now noticed that." you responded back with a sly smile. "Come, on." he said trying to get you to follow him. "Where are we going?" "To the bathroom so we can re-wet this side of your hair." "What! NO!!" "Why not?" "Cuz, then one side will be wet and the other will be dry." "Then let's re-wet both sides." "NO." after much agruing and a lot of pursuassion from Rafe, you did take out your left braid, and re-wetted all of your hair.

When you both sat back down, Rafe now sitting on the floor behind you with his legs spread in a V while you sat in between them so he could reach better. You decided to do one side to show him how even though he wasn't asking for help, you did your left on your own again as you saw him, watching and trying to match your movements, from the corner of your eye.

When you both were finally done Rafe let out a huff. "Are you tired baby?" you asked is a soft tone seeing him wiping the non-existent sweat off of his forehead. "Yeah, that was difficult." "See, told you it was harder than it looked." you stated as you watched him getting up from behind you only to get up on the bed. You watched him with curiosity seeing what he was going to do, when you stood up he made grabby hands towards you and grabbed the book you were currently reading. Indicating that he wanted to cuddle with you while you read to him.

You obliged and the two of you spent the afternoon in eachothers arms, reading and talking about the book, while your hair dried before you went to the party later tonight.

Had a nap. Considering leaking a potential ending for Aces and Oh’s. It’s really sad and dark, and it contains main character as a ghost. I’m toying with this potential plot line that I came up with whilst napping. I read something on Pinterest about killing the main character right in the middle of the story. Kenz might not survive Aces and Oh’s.

Also, Aces and Oh’s will have POV switches from Kenz and their two triplet siblings like how the pov switches in Warrior cats. I might poll whether or not to kill Kenz right smack dab in the middle of the story. Might not and leave it up to the fic to decide. One-Shot Possibilities

Bodyguard Dwalin- (Bagginshield) After the Carrock, Thorin pulls Dwalin aside asking him to protect his One from harm. Dwalin had no idea how difficult a task this was going to be, but the Burglar is an accident magnet!

Bodyswap- (Bagginshield) Bilbo and Thorin wake up in each other's bodies which was annoying on its own, but Thorin learns Bilbo's stupid hobbit body is always hungry, and Bilbo doesn't quite know how Thorin gets by with the amount of chronic pain the dwarf body has.

Interpreter- (Bagginshield) Every time Erebor comes to the Free Peoples Meeting in Rivendell, Bilbo is always assigned as the dwarf king's interpreter. A job he accepts gladly, except for the fact that Thorin has a tendency to make more adversaries than friends.

Knights- (Bagginshield) Bilbo has been waiting for the chance to be chosen as a knight's squire for a very long time. However, being the first hobbit page does not endear him to most. So he should be ecstatic when Sir Thorin "the Oakenshield" choses him...it's just that dwarf has a hard time keeping squires around.

5+1 Hospital Scenes- (Haddotin) 5 times Haddock has had to sit by Tintin's bedside, and 1 time Tintin sits by his.

Reincarnation AU- (Haddotin) Haddock was actually Sir Francis in a past life and as they hunt for the treasure, Tintin begins to regain memories from his own past life and the part he played between Sir Francis and Red Rackham.

Post-BOFTA- (Bagginshield) Thorin survives his battle to find Bilbo laying unconscious in the snow. Unable to carry him down, Thorin leaves him with his ring on to get help. Only he doesn't make it very far before collapsing. Waking in the healing tents, Thorin has to convince the Company to let him go find Bilbo before the storm rolls in.

Tea Shop AU- (Bagginshield) Bilbo is just a humble tea shop owner who loves serving his regulars including a businessman who always makes it a point to stop in when he's in town. However, this time he leaves Bilbo with a $50,000 tip, and Bilbo doesn't know how to interpret it, especially considering he's just learned the man was Thorin Oakenshield, CEO of one of the biggest multi-million dollar companies of their generation.

Shifter AU- (Bagginshield) Bilbo is a fox shifter and he is about to meet his boyfriend's family. Bilbo knew Thorin was a rather prominent raven-shifter, but to learn that he was practically royalty might be a bit too much.

Band AU- (Bagginshield) Bilbo was one of the most renowned concert celloist in the world. However, he's been harboring a secret. His boyfriend is the lead singer of Durin's Day. His professional life and personal life might be in danger of clashing when Thorin and Bilbo both have performances in the same city.

Afaik the ST actors have said they barely can work on other projects besides ST. And Finn specifically has said that he is quite selective about the works he chooses to be a part of. Assuming he himself and not his management decided to audition for The Goldfinch and WYFSW: Boris and Ziggy are both canonically bisexual. Trevor in Ghostbusters has a female LI Lucky, but Lucky's actor is non-binary and who knows if we maybe get an off-hand comment about Trevor's sexuality in the second Ghostbusters.

So do you think Finn partially chose these projects because he was going to play a queer character, specifically bi+ characters?

A) Yes

B) No, it was a complete coincidence, he would have chosen stories like that even when his character would have been straight

C) I think their sexuality and not the story itself was the main reason why he chose to play these characters

Hazbin Hotel Theory: Lilith Was NEVER In Hell In The First Place, Eve Was...And Alastor Made A Deal With Eve.

[Note: Don't Read This Unless You Had Watched All The Episodes of Season 1 of Hazbin Hotel, cause of spoilers and also this is for Mature Audience Only, that means no little kids allowed, even most fans know that the show as well as Helluva Boss, are NOT for children, and for Mature Audiences Only, and a child being mature for their age does NOT count as a loophole, just because they are able to act in a mature manner where they behave and don't act up, doesn't mean they are Mature enough or at the right age to see mature stuff that is like around 18+ or higher....]

anyway "Lilith" who might really be Eve, and Alastor were absent for 7 years, and Lilith is somehow in Heaven.

it could be possible that despite Lucifer and "Lilith" being punished, the True Lilith made a deal to let herself not end up in Hell with Lucifer, and was able to switch places with Eve, who by this time, had already had most of Adam's Children, so Seth, Abel and Cain were already born and had to watch as their Mother ended up in Hell with Lucifer, but not knowing it was her, because Lilith had disguised herself as Eve and watched the True Eve take her place.

this would mean that Eve is in fact Charlie's Mom, not Lilith.

and for all we know, when Lute was talking to Lilith and demanding that she go and stop her daughter, she wasn't talking about Charlie.....she was talking about Vaggie.

this doesn't mean Charlie and Vaggie are half-sisters or even sisters at all, it just means that Eve is Charlie's True Mom and well, Vaggie likely doesn't know that Lilith is her Mom, and all her Exorcist Sisters are possibly her actual sisters, maybe not all of them, but half of them could be.

this would mean that in a history where three angels had killed Lilith's children for every time she didn't return to Adam, which by the way is still freaking messed up and that is NOT love at all, and those three angels can't just do such a messed up thing and think it's okay.

cause it's not okay at all, and if ya think about it, they are half the reason Lilith became worse, well them and Adam of course.

even if Adam didn't get his hands dirty in this universe, but it doesn't mean he isn't partly at fault for hurting Lilith just as much as those three angels were.

the Exorcist Angels may be like those Three Angels, but they are also a mix of Lilith's Children, but the Sinners aren't her Children, not unless ya count some of the half of them that come from the Evalith Bloodline, which is what I'm calling it....the Evalith Bloodline means those who are descendants by blood to both Eve & Lilith.

the Sinners in Hazbin Hotel, are possibly Eve's Children, Adam possibly wanted Eve back even if she was stuck in Hell, while Lilith was living up for centuries in Heaven.

Eve had already fell in love with Lucifer as the centuries past, and Lucifer himself while already knowing about the switch between Lilith and Eve, had likely fell out of love for Real Lilith who chose to make a deal in order not to be send to hell with him, and had Eve take her place.

Eve had possibly decided to go under the disguise as Lilith and even taken the name, and the only ones who knew this was Lucifer and centuries later, Alastor.

Eve/"Lilith" and Alastor both go missing for 7 years, but it could be possible that before those events, Eve had trusted Alastor to watch over and take care of her husband and their daughter.

so she had a special gem made to have Alastor disguise as her, in case Adam had send three of his Exorcist Angels after her again.

if Adam did send Three Exorcist Angels to force Eve to return to him and be his wife again, then it could reference how Three Angels were trying to make Lilith return to Adam.

Lucifer is likely the one who gets pregnant, because the whole theory that it is the Boy Angel, who has the baby....though with hybrids that are half-human and half-angel, they still have some who have the Girl Angels that have the baby....but it could be possible if they were to have a relationship with angel guy, who isn't half-human....then yeah, he could be the one to get pregnant, or both of them could end up pregnant.

anyway, it is possible that Charlie's Mom going missing for 7 years and Alastor being gone for 7 years is more connected than we know.

cause Eve/"Lilith" who is Charlie's Mom, went missing WAY before the 7 years that she supposedly went away for that time.

Alastor probably did the divorce himself, being tired of being married to Lucifer, and there is a reason why he was being sassy to him....

because Eve/"Lilith" made Alastor marry Lucifer, even if it was by making a deal with her, part of their deal may have to do with keeping Charlie safe.

Alastor possibly spend most of his life, before the whole modern advancements, acting as Charlie's Other Parent, and in the disguise as Lucifer's Wife.

he possibly had been switching between his true form and that disguise for years, and maybe even making a clone double of himself be in a same place as himself when he is in his disguise as Eve/"Lilith"....but at some point, once Charlie became a young woman and was able to live on her own, at some point before "Lilith"/Alastor went missing for 7 years, he decided enough is enough and stop wearing the disguise, he could of done this years later after his and Lucifer's divorce.

so this could mean that RadioApple is Semi-Canon, it's just Lucifer had no idea his wife Eve (who he knew wasn't Lilith his first love, because she purposely made a deal to have Eve take her place, and Lilith was NEVER in hell at all, she was in Heaven this whole time and might be Vaggie's Mom, Not Charlie's, cause Eve aka "Lilith II" is Charlie's Mom.) had made a deal with Alastor for him to take her place and become Lucifer's Partner/Spouse if she is taken away by Three Exorcist Angels and might never see him or Charlie again.

for all we know it could of been Alastor who was "Eve" at the time, who made Charlie and Lucifer believe that the other didn't want to see them.

the other reason why Alastor might be helping Charlie, besides for his own entertainment, might have to do with him watching Charlie grow up and being the one to help raise her when Adam had send Three Exorcist Angels to bring her back to him.

so yeah, instead of it being Lilith, it was Eve.

and the whole Lilith being Vaggie's Mom and the whole Eve being Charlie's Mom, would be the biggest plot twist like ever. O_O

and I guess it could be possible that Vaggie's Dad could be Samael, who by the way, wouldn't be the same person as Lucifer who is Charlie's Dad.

even if in real life some people think Samael and Lucifer are one in the same, but that might not be true at all.

so yeah, Charlie's Parents Are: "Lucifer & Eve (And Alastor)..."

and Vaggie's Parents Are: "Lilith & Samael"

and if Samael did become the ruler of the Wrath Ring, and Lilith likely didn't want to raise her own daughters...

it would explain the whole Adam naming Vaggie, but he likely didn't really raise her or her sisters, it is possible they were place under some kind of foster care once they were named, and the sisters didn't really live together, but end up living with their caretakers that became like their adoptive parents.

Vaggie's adoptive parent, could of been Alastor's Mom, who might be the reason why Vaggie chose to spare a sinner child, because she was taught about mercy and to never harm a child, even if they end up as sinners.

Vaggie not being as bloodthirsty as her sisters, might have to do with her being raised by Alastor's Mom.

and it could be possible that Alastor's Mom wasn't the only one who raised her, and during her time in Heaven, Alastor's Mom had met someone and fell in love.

Vaggie might refer to Alastor's Mom, as well of course Mom.

because she is the one who took her in and raised her, not Lilith or Samael...and at times, your true parent wont always be the one who brought you into this world.

which proves in that Silent Hill Movie, where Rose knew that Sharon was her daughter from the moment she saw her.

the same could of been the same for Alastor's Mom when much Older Angels came to her home where her and her romantic life-partner live, and was shown a little girl who they said was to be her new daughter, and even explaining where the girl came from and who her biological parents were, but they did so while covering the girls ears, and told Alastor's Mom to never tell the girl who her Mother and Father truly is...

Vaggie likely grew up in a loving home, and the reason why she isn't 100% the same as her sisters, is because her Adoptive Parents who were at first her Foster Parents until they fully adopted her...

is because Vaggie's Adoptive Parents, and one of them being Alastor's Mom. were Winners and thus had humans lives before ending up in Heaven.

Vaggie's Sisters, were likely raised by Heavenborns, this would also include Lute as well.

Alastor might of have had other reasons he went missing for 7 years, and whatever those reasons are, we might find out more in the future.

but it could be possible that before those events where he went missing, he was made to be married to Lucifer by Eve who was Lucifer's Original Wife and Charlie's Mom.

which means that it had to be around the time period when Alastor ended up in Hell, and when he did end up there, he ended up meeting and making a deal with Eve and she found a way to get him to marry Lucifer, which means that Lucifer had two spouses but didn't know it.

like he could of known centuries ago that Lilith had chose to make a deal to get out of the punishment and had Eve (after she had her and Adam's children: Abel, Cain/who might not really be Adam's and Seth.) and part of the reason why Lucifer got depressed after falling, was because Lilith broke his heart, and it took time and many centuries later for him to fall in love again, and the one he fell in love with, was Eve who he knew had taken the name "Lilith" to hide her true identity from Sinners, because no one should know the truth.

if it is true that Lilith, the Real Lilith in Hazbin Hotel, is in fact the Mother of The Exorcist Angels but their adoptive parents who are Heavenborns (save for Vaggie's Winner Parents and one of them being Alastor's Mother.) she could try to play the "loving mom" card and try to get Vaggie to talk Charlie out of her redemption idea.

Vaggie could of found out before she was punished by Lute, that Lilith was her Mom, and other info that she found was that it wasn't Lilith that was send to Hell, it was Eve, some time after she had her and Adam's Children.

Vaggie finds out about the deal that Lilith made centuries ago, and that it let her into Heaven, while Eve fell into Hell with Lucifer.

so yeah, Vaggie finds out that Eve was forced to take Lilith's punishment and she had to live as "Lilith" for centuries, and at some point both Eve and Lucifer fell in love, it could be possible that Lucifer could be bitter over what the Original Lilith did, he had loved her and she betrayed him to not end up punished along side him, so she made the deal, possibly with Sera that involves Adam.

and she was able to let Eve go with Lucifer and she got to stay on Earth until she ended up in Heaven.

so she was never in Hell, she was always in Heaven and mostly at that part that has the ocean.

if Charlie finds out the truth, it could break her heart, even more than the whole big secret Vaggie was keeping, but if Vaggie did find out that Lilith was her Mom and not Charlie's, she could of done so some time after Charlie found out that she was a angel and after the big fight with Adam and the Exorcist Angels.

Vaggie could of found out by reading Lucifer's Diary, and it saying that Eve is using the name "Lilith" to hide her true identity and the real Lilith never went to Hell and had been on Earth the whole time, and then later ended up in Heaven.

Lute could of found out that Vaggie is Lilith's daughter, but she doesn't know that she is also Lilith's daughter, and that all the Exorcist Angel Girls are in fact Lilith's daughters.

not everyone has to agree about this theory, or the whole RadioApple being Semi-Canon, which would make some fans happy to hear that if it turns out RadioApple was technically canon.

it would mean that Charlie did technically have two Dads, even if one of them was disguised as her Mom because her Mom Eve had made Alastor do so in case Adam took her away from her family.

anyway maybe I will talk more about this theory some other time, I'm going to check out a few more fan arts before I log off, and I will log back on maybe later or tomorrow....

like Adam's Human Half becomes a Sinner, but his Angel Half that gets split from him, ends up being reborn as Blitz.....so they are like cleaved souls, and if Adam did become a Sinner, he would still have his memories, but Blitzo wouldn't, but his little hallucination he had could hint that he was once the angel half of Adam, maybe...

anyway, when I can I will talk more about that weird theory that pop into my head, that Blitzo is technically Adam's reincarnation, even if it is only half of him that got reborn as a Imp, while the half that stays Adam becomes a Sinner.

fan theories don't always have to make sense, even ones where Adam gets reborn as a Imp, even if it is only his Angel Half while the original him ends up regenerating and becoming a Sinner.

Hello! I took out a wisdom tooth today and after such a tragic ordeal (it was extremely easy and quick), I have decided to ease my pain (I'm literally fine) by posting a new snippet!

This is the biggest one yet (about 1k words) but I love this scene so so much and I want to share it with you! It was in the snippet poll a couple of weeks ago. It was the "Seth and Theo arguing about the war" one.

Now, every time she and Theo strolled through the hospital, she felt the other healers’ eyes on her. Their voices lowered to whispers as she passed, but she could hear them rattle on enthusiastically when they walked out of her field of vision. Theo found it very funny. “Ever since I healed that soldier, they won’t leave me alone,” Seth grumbled. “They’re giving me a headache.” “Well, I think they’re adorable,” Theo replied, looking over her shoulder to make sure the healers they’d run into were no longer within earshot. “I like their enthusiasm.” Seth looked away, her eyes fixed on the windows that filled the corridor with light. She could barely wait to return to camp. “They’re healers,” she sighed. “I have… complicated feelings about that.” Theo placed a hand on her shoulder and they both stopped in the middle of the empty corridor. The sunlight made her eyes shine, like two red stars. “I know,” Theo said. “I know how you feel about them.” “I don’t want them to feel the need to heal people. I’d have preferred it if they’d never discovered the potential of their own magic. So many of them are so young…” Seth paused, furrowing her brow. “But also… I can’t stop thinking about how things were when I was on their side. I still remember the Master Healer Lady, encouraging all those girls to give up their souls to any soldier that needed them. And seeing Asha do the same, knowing that, despite it all, she’s still enforcing it, makes me feel… small.” Theo squeezed her shoulder. “I can’t say I fully understand what you feel, but-” “Even if a single healer can prevent dozens of deaths, I’d prefer it if none of them ever saved any lives. No one deserves to have magic like this.” Theo stretched her arms out to hug her, but Seth stepped back, grabbing one of her wrists. “Why aren’t you ever like this at camp?” she asked. She was neither angry nor sad, just put off by her behaviour. “Why have you suddenly stopped ignoring me?” “Seth…” “No, Theo. Why are you behaving as if the past few months never happened?” Theo sighed, ripping her wrist from Seth’s hand. The small medal she wore over her chest jingled with the sudden movement. “Can’t I spend time with you? Can’t we talk normally anymore?” “Why do you only do that when we’re here?” Theo sighed. She looked to the side, avoiding Seth’s gaze. “When we’re here, I can pretend that we’re not in the middle of the war.” “You’re the one who wanted to come!” “I know!” Theo shot out. When she turned to Seth, her eyes seemed to spark for an instant. “I know it was me! I know I dragged you here with me! You don’t think I think about that every day?” “I chose to come! I came for you! If you’re so desperate to pretend you’re not in a war, why don’t you go home? It’s not as if the Goddess of Time can find you there.” Theo’s shoulders lowered with a sigh. She choked on her next words. “I… I hate the war too,” she murmured. Her hand flew to her medal, and she turned to look at how it glistened in the light. “I hate it so much…” “Then go back home.” “I can’t!” “Of course you can! If we ran right now, the Goddess of Time wouldn’t be able to catch us.” She reached towards Theo’s hand and squeezed it reassuringly. “We’d be safe from her. At home.” “And the rest of the time?” “Extend your dominion to the whole town. Make all the people subject to your divinity. I don’t care. Come home.” Theo shook her head, but she still held Seth’s hand, hidden in the fabric of her embroidered healer’s cloak. “I can’t.” Her voice was weak, as if she was on the precipice of tears. “I can’t. They need me. I believe I can end this war.” “By killing more people?” “More people would die without me. At least like this, they have an advantage, even if it is… even if it hurts me a lot.” “Screw them! Let’s go home!” “And let the war go on? And let more people die?” Seth sighed.

“I don’t give a damn about the war. Let them all die. Let the war go on forever. I don’t care.” She brought Theo’s hand closer. “As long as you’re with me, in peace, I couldn’t care less. I don’t mind the war if I’m not looking at it. It isn’t hard.” Theo pushed her away and took a step back. “You’d let this violence continue for years and years just because it’s not directly in front of you?” Seth straightened her spine. She knew that Theo hated what she was saying, and it felt like being stabbed through the chest “Yes. As long as you’re with me and the war is far away from us. Yes.” “I can’t believe you’d let the war go on for such a selfish reason! We finally have a chance to win, to stop the deaths of all these soldiers and healers, and you say you want none of that because you want me by your side. Don’t you see that, for the first time in decades, we can be, finally, once and for all, at peace?” Seth looked into her flaming red eyes, now covered in shadow. “At the cost of your suffering?” “My suffering is nothing compared to theirs. My Mother created me with her own hands to fight in this war and this is what I’ll do.” “Even if it kills you?” She took a step closer. “Even if you end up like Dora?” “Yes. Because I’ll have ended this war.” “What about me.” “I’ll spend the rest of my life with you. As soon as the war is over.” With no reply, Seth began walking in the opposite direction. She held her cane more tightly than usual, pressing it against the marble floor with such force she thought it would crack. She felt as if she was going to fall at any moment. “Your suffering is a price too steep for me,” she said, turning back, already a few steps away. “To me, it can compare to nothing.”

Also, Theo saying "I'll spend the rest of my life with you once the war is over"??? Sure you will, girl. All 5 minutes of it.

I genuinely love this snippet!! It was so fun to write!!! Seth is such a selfish character and she's got a kind of... unhealthy attachment to Theo, I'd say? And this has already been shown extensively (i.e. Seth hunting down a goddess for 30 pages to look for Theo), but this is the first time she's verbalizing the extent of her possessiveness. Literally, her only motivation is "be with Theo".

Tumblr Plays Pokemon White 2 - Part 3

Picking up where we left off, I decide to do some last minute exploring around Aspertia City and managed to get an ultra ball! I think its only available from an npc in one of the houses after you beat the gym. Still happy I chose to explore. An ultra ball is a pretty good item this early in the game.

Heading towards Virbank from Aspertia I KO a few wild pokemon on the way. Once on my way out of Floccesy town Bianca catches up. Turns out she wants to update our pokedex to add a habitat feature which helps figure out which pokemon are in an area.

She also tells us about rustling grass which is one of hte only ways to get certain pokemon in this game. I will likely be including such pokemon in the polls in the future.

Once we get onto route 20 a hiker is blocking our path and wont let us through without a gym badge. When we show him we have one he immediately starts a battle.

He starts with a riolu and I send out aries. Riolu hits with a quick attack while I have Aries use cotton spore to slow it down. I then use thunderwave to paralyze the little tyke. Riolu used foresight making Aries easier to hit and followed up with endure. Aries used thundershcok to deal some damage but while it does decent damage its not enough to get into the red. Riolu hits with another quick attack and I have Aries use thundershock again. This gets riolu in the red. I try to finish him off with tackle but he uses endure before I can, letting him hang on by 1 hp. Paralysis keeps riolu from counterattacking though so Aries next tackle takes him out.

After that I head down the stairs and run into Hugh and Cheren again. Cheren tells us about the dark grass where you can sometimes face 2 pokemon instead of just 1 and they can be stronger than regular pokemon. He then gives us some Pecha berries and takes off.

I decide to have Aries beat up a small childs psyduck for exp. I mean, there IS going to be another gym coming up. With that concious clearing thought I beat up a little girls lillipup.

This is pokemon. You gotta harden your heart a little XD

After beating up several little childrens pets Bentley winds up at level 15 and Aries at level 13. On our way through the gate to Virbank the desk lady stops me, judges me by the number of pokemon I have and gives me some great balls.

Not two steps into Virbank and our mom calls. UUUUUGH I'm only one town over MOM. I even have a murder bean and an electricfied wool blanket to keep me safe! LET ME LIVE MY LIFE.

Good thing we hung up on ma when we did or else we wouldn't get to see this juicy drama unfold.

But his... daughter? tells him how hes already a captain with, like, responsibilities and stuff and how if he doesnt move his ship stuff will go bad. But daddy-boy has a good comeback. evidently his daughter is the gym leader but also a member of a band. If she can do it why can't he? He then swaggers off like a BOSS

Maybe I should go to the gym and teach her a leson about respecting her elders.... later. I gotta heal up the team at the pokecenter. Plus, honestly? This is the first town I've been to on my own. Imma EXPLORING.

And with that I do things like talk to strangers, find "antidotes" in trash cans, be given burn medicine, pokeballs by complete strangers, etc.

I'm also going to go play in a construction zone and (checks polls) try and catch a growlithe! This is also the first area where shaking grass becomes available which means Audino is now available for grin training which is going to come in handy down the line. At the moment though I really don't want to over level my team so I think I may try prioitizing catching a growlithe over trainer battles for as long as I can. Although I am going to opt to hunt for a growlithe in the dark grass to both increases my chances for an encounter, as well as increase my chances for a higher level growlithe.

Not only do I eventually successfully encounter a growlithe, but the very start of the fight lets me see that it has the Intimidate ability which is arguably one of the great core abilities of the game.

I have Bentley at the front of the party so he is sent out first but I pretty quickly swap into Aries to paralyze Growlithe. Plus this Growlithe is level 14 so using Aries, who is one level under it, might be the better call. It helps that fire types take neutral damage to electric as well. Although the fact htat its raining in gme may change that a bit. After two thundershocks and taking a couple of embers Aries successfully gets Growlithe into the yellow. Not wanting to repeat Bentleys murder spree from earlier, and wanting a new team member of the poison type gym, I opt to go ahead and try throwing a great ball. (I'd like to save the ultra ball I got in Aspertia for later potential catches).

And with that our little lady Growlithe is caught!

In a bit of selfish irl insertment I've opted to name this little spitfire after my families elderly dog. (I'm not the first person to name one of their pokemon after an irl pet and I wont be the last)

Course after giving it such a personal name I was relieved to see she had a Hardy nature and could fit into the team dynamic!

With Molly successfully caught, I can now safely construct and release the next set of catching polls! Once I have those posted up, I'm going to go ahead and play through the Virbank Complex more or less on my own so i can train up my team in preparation for Roxies gym battle!

For now though I'm going to end this post here and we'll be able to tackle Roxies gym battle, POkestar studios, and potentially the beginnings of Castelia City in the next part!

followup fun facts about together, to that promised aquarium

this is gonna be just kinda a disorganized post of random things so uh. dont mind that.

the event title is actually a double reference ^^ its both a callback to 1dt with 1c promising to find time to do things as friends despite getting busier (even if theres no ichika this time), and also a reference to harusakis first kizuna!

colopale you still havent given us that aquarium they said theyd go to. theres a reason i had to do it myself. the fact that theres not an aquarium event in general is a crime tbh i know theres some romantic connotations with a pair going to an aquarium but theres very easy solutions to avoiding that? sending a group of 3+ characters together, having them run into other characters while there, inviting someone else along (even if they cant go, it helps make it feel more like a friend thing i think). i did a bit of the latter two, as you mightve noticed! in general though its just SUCH an obviously fun event theme i cant beleive we havent had one yet

while i am a known harusaki shipper, i kept the story pretty light on the stuff that could be read as explicitly shippy, since when im trying to make fake events, i like to think about how itd work in canon, which means keeping it low on explicit ship content. plenty of stuff that could be taken as ship food (as id like it to be!) but nothing that would alienate non shippers from enjoying the story too.

i actually didnt write shizukasas presence as intended for ship content at all though, but im definitely okay with people taking it that way lol they can be on a date too if you want them to be. my plan with them was simply theyre childhood friends too but dont get to spend time together that often anymore -> their schedules line up with a free day and tsukasa heard about the aquarium from saki, decides to invite shizuku to go there with him as a part of hanging out together -> surprise encounter with harusaki!

also both of them were scoring quite high on the form when i decided to lock in the lineup (tsukasa was absolutely sweeping the 2* category, and while shizuku wasnt winning anything, she was a pretty popular choice) and theyre very easy to work into a story together and also into a story that is focused on harusaki (╯▽╰ ) the benefits of siblings and unitmates

the event and gacha names actually both came to me one night while i was about to fall asleep. struck by inspiration so strong i had to grab my phone and write them down in my notes app. and they actually worked very well! also heres the transparents of the logos if you want them i guess

the card/skill/costume names also mostly came to me in similar ways, in the last couple nights before i finished everything. i think only saki, luka, and shizukus skills didnt come to me that way.

while the rui fish in tsukasa card might be obvious, theres actually more animals referencing other characters too! theres a group of three fish in sakis card that are the colors of the rest of leoni, the sneakiest of the bunch, and also not quite as sneaky but maybe not as obvious as the rui fish is the airi and minori sea slugs :)

i did think about giving tsukasa fish to be emu and nene too, but that many differently colored fish in a 2* seemed like too much, so i didnt do it... at least of the units involved, 2/3 of them are fully represented in some way!

and now most importantly probably, is that this is in fact my second pass at an aquarium event! the original one i started back in 2022 and......... i think you guys can figure out why i couldnt just reuse it when i decided to go for making an aquarium event again this time.

yep, youre seeing that right. 4/5 of the characters i chose are the same as what ended up being 1dt, all i got wrong was the vs. thats pretty crazy, honestly. im still not fully convinced colopale isnt just stealing my ideas after val3 happened too /j

it was also saki focus actually! i had written out a rough idea for the story back then too, and while theres some similarities to the current one, it obviously went through a lot of changes when revising the lineup and also with everything that has happened in the story over the past two years. it was definitely a bit more explicitly shippy than my new attempt, although i still tried to keep the shipping stuff toned back somewhat

i only ever made one card for that set though, just lukas 2*... but thats the original reason i made the old 2* backgrounds! its always those fake events throwing me into the graphic design trenches (fist shake) i had been trying to do a more canon-accurate style to......... mixed success. its not terrible, but i definitely could not have done the full set like this. theres a reason i did promised aquarium in my own style!

the original theme for the set was kind of like..... performers at an aquarium? along with living water sculptures of animals. it was a fun idea, but i think i was much better suited to doing the underwater scenes of promised aquarium and also we have plenty of performance themed trained sets already ^^

considering i also technically kept her from the original set (plus she was also winning the vs poll), i gave her a higher rarity card this time around for fun. and also because i knew none of shizuku tsukasa or luka would have super significant roles in the story, and i thought it would be fun to design a lim hairstyle for her!

one final random fun fact: the thing that kicked me into gear making promised aquarium was the fact that haruka wasnt on beautiful sound. i was just a little mad that they had an underwater set WITH A PENGUIN COSTUME and there was no haruka. sometimes petty beef brings out my craziest motivations and then i proceeded to spend the better part of a month planning and making it happen.

I made an AI write an episode of Puppet History about Shanesweep

The camera fades in on the set of Puppet History, where the Professor is sitting behind his desk, surrounded by various historical artifacts and documents. Ryan Bergara sits to his left, frowning as he reads over a stack of notes. A third chair is positioned to the right of the Professor's desk, and it is soon occupied by a smiling Steven Lim, who waves at the camera.

Professor: (beaming) Well hello there, students! Welcome to another exciting episode of Puppet History. Today, we're going to be discussing an event that's very near and dear to our hearts here at the Watcher network: Shanesweep!

Ryan: (rolling his eyes) Oh boy.

Professor: (noticing Ryan's attitude) Now now, Beef Boy, don't be a sourpuss. This is a very important historical event! After all, Shane Madej winning the Ultimate Tumblr Funnyman poll is nothing to sneeze at.

Steven: (grinning) I have to agree with the Professor on this one. I was rooting for Shane the whole time.

Ryan: (sarcastically) Well, that makes one of us.

Professor: (clearing his throat) Now, as you all know, the poll was a heated battle between Shane and the legendary Weird Al Yankovic. At first, it seemed like Weird Al had the upper hand. But then...

Ryan: (interrupting) Can we just skip to the part where Shane wins?

Professor: (chuckling) Alright, alright. I can tell you're just chomping at the bit to hear the results. So, after an intense few days of voting, Shane emerged victorious!

Steven: (clapping) Yes!

Ryan: (sighing) Great.

Professor: And it wasn't just any old victory, mind you. One of the Watcherinas even sent Shane a trophy in the mail to commemorate the occasion!

Ryan: (smirking) That's cute.

Professor: (leaning in) Oh, and let's not forget about the propaganda. The Watcherinas were so unhinged and insane, they really went all out with the campaigning.

Ryan: (raising an eyebrow) Propaganda?

Professor: (nodding) Oh yes. Memes, gifs, videos, you name it. They even got Watcher to reblog the poll on Tumblr with the caption, "We did it Joe!"

Steven: (laughing) That's amazing.

Ryan: (grumbling) I don't see what's so amazing about a bunch of internet trolls rigging a poll.

Professor: (smiling) Well, that's one way to look at it. But from another perspective, it just goes to show the power of community and how passionate people can be about something they believe in.

Ryan: (nodding) I guess you're right.

Professor: (clapping his hands) Well, speaking of believing in something, it's time for our quiz! Are you ready, gentlemen?

Steven and Ryan both nod, and the Professor grins widely.

Professor: Excellent! Alright, first question. What year did Shanesweep take place?

A multiple choice question appears on the screen:

Ryan and Steven both quickly scribble down their answers.

Professor: (smiling) Alright, let's see what you got. Ryan, what did you choose?

Ryan holds up his whiteboard, which says "C".

Professor: (barking) We've got a couple of sea dogs

Steven: (laughing) I also chose C.

Professor: (grinning) Well, you're both correct!

Professor: (holding up the coveted cup) Now, it's time to reveal who the winner of today's quiz is. And the winner is... Steven Lim!

Steven: (grinning and holding up the cup) Yes! Thank you, Professor!

Ryan: (looking incredulous) What? But I got the same answer as him!

Professor: (smiling) That's true, Beef Boy. But you see, Steven made a really funny joke earlier, so I decided to give him some extra jellybeans. It's all in good fun, right?

Ryan: (grumbling) I guess.

Steven: (laughing) Thanks again, Professor!

As Steven continues to thank the Professor, Ryan can't help but feel a bit resentful. He's been coming to Puppet History for months now, and he's never won the coveted cup. But before he can say anything, the Professor suddenly looks up, his eyes widening in shock.

Professor: (gasping) Wait a minute... Steven, I think I know what's going on here.

Steven: (looking concerned) What do you mean?

Professor: (leaning in) I think... I think you might be an alien.

Ryan: (looking surprised) What?!

Steven: (laughing nervously) What are you talking about, Professor? I'm not an alien!

Professor: (shaking his head) Oh, but I think you are. You see, there have been some strange things happening around here lately. Mysterious lights in the sky, unexplained power outages... I think you might be here to study us.

Ryan: (looking skeptical) This is ridiculous.

Steven: (laughing) Come on, Professor. You're just joking around, right?

Professor: (shaking his head) I'm afraid not, Steven. I think it's time for a little test.

The Professor reaches into his desk and pulls out a jar of peanut butter. He holds it up to Steven, who looks confused.

Professor: (smiling) Do you like peanut butter, Steven?

Steven: (nodding slowly) Um, yeah. I guess.

Professor: (grinning) Well then, let's see what happens when I give you a little taste.

The Professor dips his finger into the peanut butter and holds it out to Steven, who hesitantly takes a lick. Suddenly, his eyes widen and he starts convulsing.

Steven: (shouting) I am an alien! I am an alien!

Ryan: (looking shocked) What the hell is going on here?!

Professor: (calmly) It's alright, Ryan. I knew this day might come. You see, Steven is from a planet that's allergic to peanuts. It's how we were able to finally confirm his identity.

Steven continues to writhe and convulse on the floor as the Professor calmly explains the situation to Ryan. Eventually, Steven recovers and stands up, looking sheepish.

Chapter 3

Summary

Wukong trains his subjects in war to protect them from future attacks. He robs a kingdom's armory and threatens the Dragons of the Oceans for his staff and battle garb. He forms a brotherhood with six of the seventy-two other demon kings on Flower Fruit Mountain (although the rest pay tribute). The Ten Kings of the Underworld send for Wukong to pass on in his sleep; instead he fights his way into hell and strikes his and as many monkeys' names as he can find from the Register of Names, granting them all Immortality regarding Old Age (and potentially preventing them from ever reincarnating?). The Jade Emperor nearly sends an army to arrest Wukong upon hearing of his deeds, but Gold Star of Venus convinces him to instead offer him a position in heaven so as to tame him socially rather than by force.

Misc. Notes

Wukong originally trains his subjects in war as a game, then realizes "o shit, we may one day piss someone off, we should get real weapons" which 1) great foresight Wukong and 2) who taught him war? Was this part of the curriculum at Subodhi's?

Was not expecting two of Wukong's commanders to be female monkeys. Pretty much everyone so far has been male.

Thoughts/Poll!

Wukong in this chapter immediately went and proved Subodhi right, committing thievery, threatening other immortals, unrepentantly breaking promises of payment, and putting his responsibilities on others so that he can relax and make friends. Is this sudden violent attitude because Subodhi told him that is what he was or would he have been like this even regardless upon attaining his powers?

I lean towards it coming from being informed by his teacher that he is evil, not because I want to absolve Wukong of any guilt (he still chose to commit those crimes), but because the Wukong before and at Subodhi's is different from the Wukong after Subodhi's, notably with how he regards promises and payment. Pre-Subodhi, Wukong gives a speech about trustworthiness and about the value of following through on one's word to his monkeys (p 105), and makes similar statements both to the woodcutter (p 112) and generally throughout Chapter 2. Post-Subodhi, however, there's the Dragon Incident, where Wukong first goes back on what he's there for (from a divine weapon to a weapon and battle garb) and then on his promise of paying Aogung for the weapon ("Go and look some more, and if you find something I'll like, I'll offer you a good price" (p 134)). His original attitude was demonstrated literally in the paragraph before Subodhi's declaration, which suggests that this wasn't something that occurred because of the power he'd gained mixing with his natural inclinations.

Since this is fundamentally a Nature vs Nurture debate, however (especially since Wukong is supposed to symbolize the mind), I'm gonna open it up to a poll!

I can't decide which one of two characters, from the same source should I submit and asking other people in the fandom doesn't help. Would it be a big problem if I submitted both of them and let you chose based on description, or should i keep annoying our discord server until we decide?
