This idea is canon to me, you can’t change my mind. The father getting to feel the baby move? Getting to feel their heartbeat? TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!

Other familial applications for tsaheylu that I headcanon:

Couples making tsaheylu while giving birth. That way the father can literally provide his support and they can bring their child into the world together as partners. You make the baby together, you birth the baby together. 

The father makes tsaheylu with the newborn baby the same way the mother does. I LOVE that a baby’s first tsaheylu is with their mother, but I headcanon that their second is with their other parent. Relationships between fathers and children are just as important as relationships between mothers and children! Let them make those connections with their babies too!

Na’vi twins make tsaheylu in the womb and that’s why they’re so close when they’re born. Human twins already tend to be very close and share “twinisms” (some of the stories I’ve heard from friends of mine who are twins are WILD) but I feel like tsaheylu would explain that kind of closeness and “mind reading” so well for Na’vi twins. Plus, it’s cute! (Twins are always on my mind thanks to Jake and Tommy tbh).

It drives Remus up the wall but it catches up with James, Pete and the girls and by extension, the whole Gryffindor tower and soon there are several variations going around and almost on every corner you can hear someone go

"Acting the Lupin"

"Gobsmacked Remus"

"In the name of Lupin"

"By the power invested in me by Remus Lupin"

It's hilarious and by the end of their time at Hogwarts, Remus doesn't even notice it anymore to the extent that it goes from blushing profusely and dropping whatever he's holding in surprise to blushing mildly and stuttering.

Most people agree that John should move on with his life, let go of Jamie and find happiness in a real relationship. But there are some takes on this subject that really piss me off.

I’m sorry but “oh I know John will never love someone like/more than he loves Jamie, but I really wish he could find a great guy and have a nice relationship with him!!” is not the good argument that you think it is.

That’s not getting over Jamie, that’s settling for second best. Well, he can’t have Jamie, poor thing! So he will have to take someone else who he won’t love as much as he loves Jamie but at least he will have someone to cuddle with at night 🥺

Why can’t John actually get over Jamie?? Why should he settle for the second best? Worse, why should his partner accept being the second choice??

I damn well don’t want John loving someone else like he loves Jamie because that shit is completely unhealthy imo, but I know that’s not what people mean.

Jamie being the superior god-like man that everyone is in love with/is attracted to/wants to fuck is kinda ridiculous imho, but I understand the appeal that a character like that has for the audience of a romance book/show. But to put Jamie so high up in a pedestal and to think that John should be forever in love with him and not ever get over him because oh lord nothing is comparable to King-of-Men-Jamie is… a choice.

Listen. I know that’s on Diana. She is the one who wrote John like this. But I wish people would be more critical of Diana’s writing of him instead of swallowing that shit up like it’s chocolate. Everyone knows how problematic the books can be regarding certain topics, this is just another one of these things.

Instead of accepting that John won’t ever get over Jamie/won’t ever love someone as much as he loves Jamie, you should be asking yourself: why is that Diana writes him like this? Why does she insist in the stereotypical cliché of the gay man having unrequited feelings for his straight best friend? Why can’t John truly move on and stop having romantic feelings for Jamie? Why should Jamie be John’s greatest love?

Outlander is essentially a romance (idgaf about what DG says). Love of all types is a running theme: not only romantic love, but the love that exists within family and friendship. And yes, there’s a lot of platonic/friendship kind of love between J/J.

But romantic love specifically has a huge role in this story. We have straight couples left and right in this series: Claire and Jamie, Bree and Roger, Fergus and Marsali, Ian and Rachel, Dottie and Denzell, Hal and Minnie, Jenny and Ian, hell, even Brian and Ellen are getting a spin-off.

So I’m sorry but it’s really freaking weird that, in the middle of all this, people say that John (the character with his own book series and one of the main POV characters in the main series, mind you) won’t ever be able to love someone like he loves Jamie, or more than he loves Jamie. It’s really freaking weird that people say that John has to settle with second best — because that’s essentially what’s being said every time someone says that John won’t ever love someone like he loves Jamie but he should find someone else to be in a relationship with anyway.

All of that for what? Keep the cliché of the gay dude in love with his straight best friend and who never moves on? C’mon now. Don’t piss me off.

Someone should tell the Marauders' fans that just making some characters gay doesn't make them any less abusive or bullies, and honestly, capitalizing on the LGBTQ+ movement to whitewash a gang of rich, abusive kids while body-shaming their victims is not only questionable but seriously messed up.

James and Arcade's first time sleeping together actually wasn't like. Super sexy passionate kind of shit you'd see on TV, but it was still very memorable for them because Arcade would often check and make sure James was feeling okay about it/enjoying it and James would lighten the mood by making little jokes here and there or be reassuring that he's doing alright when he'd notice Arcade seeming a bit self conscious or hesitant during it

Tbh they both care about each other a lot and I think that's a really romantic thing for intimacy between two people rather than "ohhh they were so in LOVE that they both knew EXACTLY how to please each other!!!"

I can't say anything BC it's the same (almost) unit of measurement that I apply when I go to concerts.

Smsmksksa (not so much) joking aside, the mic unit of measurement is the most useful and obvious for the concert donut. I know they updated the number and positions of the mics,, so I am now kind of curious of the ratio drum riser/mics on the stage. Like there are 4 battle station on the donut, how many mics between every drum kit? This is a math problem due to monday

Listen. Probably my favorite thing about The Terror is that because the story is one planned out season, the arcs and parallel scenes are set up so cleanly and nicely that it echos.

it's not criticism lol (well, at least not criticism about the whole piece because i didn't have context for the whole piece), i was literally watching the movie for the first time and liveposting, those were my initial thoughts as i watched it. it's tagged as the movie because... it's me watching the movie. and if anyone has the movie's tags blocked for some reason, they don't have to see it.

didn't even know there's a tag to critique the movie bc idrc about it like that, bc, like i said, it was a first time watch, and i'm not trying to engage with the fandom (nor do i care enough, personally, to go back through every since reblog on a post and edit its tags depending on how i feel about it at the end, since most media is more nuanced and complicated than a criticism or positive tag and it would have to change like 3 times in every post since mine are dense with opinions that are both criticism and praise so it would be impossible to tag them as either, and most of whatever i post about something is usually initial thoughts about something i'm watching for the first time — made clear by the very first sentence of my post on that movie too, and that post was also a combination of criticism and praise — or like a letterboxd review or something.), more just make it easy to categorize for myself since tumblr search sucks, and for anyone looking for my initial thoughts on it at a later date.

You know, I'm discovering that half the appeal of jegulus for me is that it forces rosekiller and james to interact in a non-antagonistic way. And that dynamic is soooo fun. I need more. Like. Just some highlights for ya'll:

James: Fantastic, but have you met Regulus?

Barty, kicking down James door: POTTER!

Regulus: James. You know how you said you'd do anything for me? Well. . .how much did you mean that?

James: With my whole heart. Anything. What do you need?

Regulus: Evan?

Evan: We need you to find Barty. He went into one of his fits of exam-stress-induced madness and he's been missing for three days.

James, suspicious that Reg blabbed about the map: Okay, why do you think I'd know where he is?

Evan: Because when you and Regulus were in your painful pining phase you were somehow able to avoid us AND stalk him everywhere. I don't know how you know where everyone is all the time, I just know you're doing it somehow. If you can't find him, I'll have to assume he finally made good on his threat to fling himself into the lake.

James: Is? Is this a recurring problem for you?

Evan: OH, and you've NEVER lost track of YOUR boyfriend OR your best friend because they were spiralling and have a complex from their shitty upbringing?

James: . . . Point taken. Give me 5 minutes.

Evan: *grabs James in the hallway and slams him against a wall*

Barty: Alright Potter, start talking!

James: Dammit you two! You know you can just ASK Regulus how it went after we go on a date, right? He'd probably be thrilled to tell you! Don't you two keep complaining about how much he won't shut up about me?

Evan: EXACTLY. If we encourage him, then we'll REALLY never hear the end of it. Now, did you do the thing we told you about?

James: the praise thing? Yeah, he reacted really well. Which you'd know if you ASKED REGULUS!

Barty: See, what did I tell you? He loves it! See you same time next week Potter!
