it makes me unimaginably happy to see little kids doing art for fun. I was in a museum today and there was a little girl with braids next to me on the bench in front of a monet and she had a teeny tiny little blank book on a string around her neck and a pencil in her hand and she was just doing little sketches by herself.

god art is so precious and kids are so precious and like!!!! it just makes my heart feel so full. one of the things we've done from the beginning of time is see something cool and go yeah. that's important. I'm going to make a mark to remember it. I want to tell this story. and it's so so so personal to me to see that against all odds and ads and ipads and AI, kids still want to draw. they still want to tell stories.

I really need more stuff on some Joker Junior angst, along with Jason finding out about Joker Junior. Even better if you wanna pull in the whole Red Hood (Joker/Jason) Attacking Robin (Jason/Tim), both times when Robin was 15 years old and was supposed to be with someone/somewhere safe.

Hmm... I agree that more content about that would be fabulous. I especially love JJ fanart (there's some really cool ones on TikTok).

Fuck it. Here we go:

TW: torture, Joker Junior, violence, blood, flashback, dissociation, derealization, hallucinating(?)

Tim hands fly to his throat in a desperate attempt to rub away the urge to giggle. He's biting his lips hard enough to bleed in order to prevent them from twisting into a panicked grin.

He's pinned to the floor by a man using one of Joker's alias.

Just like old times, eh?

A snicker slips out at that, which only seems to enrage the man in red.

"Something funny, Placeholder?" The voice modulator in the helmet does nothing to hide the clear disdain and wrath curling through Red Hood. His grip tightens over his holsters, but he doesn't pull them out quite yet. The crimson helmet just glares down at Robin.

Red, red, red. He'd look so much better in Green.

Fuck. Note to self, Tim. JJ likes Red Hood.

Robin locks his face down at this revelation to keep a calm facade. He could try to dislodge the knives holding him hostage, but not with the perpetrator towering over him like this. "Nope. My bad, Hood. Got a little distracted. Where were we?"

The crime lord takes a few steps forward until he's next to the trapped bird. Somehow, he makes even the action squatting appear menacing. "This is the part where I torture you. Where I cut off a little bird's wings so you'll never fly again. Maybe then, B will learn."

Robin watches as Hood draws another knife. The crime lord twirls the blade between his fingers and tilts his head. There's a considering glint evident in his body language.

In a sick mockery of comfort, Red Hood trails the knife down Robin's cheek. It's too close to Joker's signs of "affection" after a round of shock treatment.

Junior shudders.

The leather jacket starts to morph into a lavender lounge coat and Tim blinks rapidly to clear his vision.

A sigh of relief escapes his lips when he's able to see Red Hood again.

The crime lord pauses. He tilts his head once more. Tim can feel the gaze studying him, but he's not sure why. He can't tell if the man is genuinely curious or if he's inspecting Robin like a bug trapped in plexiglass.

When the knife leaves his skin, Tim feels his shoulders lose an inch of tension.

"Don't get too comfortable. I've got a few questions before I snap your legs."

Tim can feel a jolt of pain flash through his legs at the claim. He grimaces at the notion of months off field.

Hood leans back onto his heels, fortunately giving the younger teen some space. It doesn't seem intentional, but it's better.

"You've been Robin for two years now?"

When Tim initially refuses to acknowledge the question, Hood raises the knife. Robin sighs and gives a nod.

The man hums and brings the hilt of the knife to his chin. The weird thinking pose blares an alarm in Tim's brain, but he can't quite piece together where he's seen it before.

"About eight months ago, the clown disappeared."

Phantom feelings of electricity run through Tim's body. His muscles twitch under the memory.

Red Hood leans closer. "Where is he?"

Tim can hear -

"You know better than that, Junior. Where's the smile for your old man?"

A desperate giggle bubbles up Tim's throat.

"Come on, son. You wouldn't want to make your mother sad, would you?"

Joker leans over Tim Junior with a wicked grin. He grips a blade and gestures to Junior's lips. "Do you want your dear old Dad to teach you to smile? Again?"

Junior shakes his head frantically as trembling lips split open in a facsimile of a smile. The motion pulls at his stitches scars.

Scars?

That's not-

Junior's smile starts to fall.

Red Hood Joker crosses his arms. "What the fuck are you smiling at?"

Junior still has a smile on his face (it can't drop), but his eyebrows furrow. "Dad?"

Joker flinches back.

Amethyst cloth flickers to bronze leather and then back again. Forest green hair morphs into a cherry red helmet. Junior watches it peer behind its shoulder before Joker's face turns back to him.

"Batman isn't here."

A cackle erupts from Junior's lips and dissolves into a fit of giggles. Joker peers at Tim Junior in confused horror. The kid turns his head more towards the man. A smile stretches and pulls the corner of his lips, highlighting the faint scars.

Junior Tim hears the man take a startled breath in.

"Batsy isn't Dad. Dad-"

Tim frowns as his gaze drifts away from the man. "I killed Dad. He's dead."

He pouts exaggeratedly before Junior dissolves into a fit of giggles. "Bam!" Both of his hands point an imaginary gun Red Hood's Joker's way. "Bam! Bam!" The hands recoil back as if actually shooting the man.

Tears start to stream down Junior's Tim's face. He fights to bring his lips away from a grin.

"Fuck." He's still grining. "Fuck!"

Red Hood, the cause of all of this, is just staring at Tim. He's observing the teen try to bring himself back to sanity inch by stupid fucking inch.

Tim's eyes dart around the room. He takes a deep breath in and, on the exhale, list something he sees. "Chair. Blender. Staff. Kni-"

Several more deep breaths in and out as he ignores all the knives in the room. "Light. Jacket. Cape. Couch. Lemon. Counter."

His hands paw at his utility breath as he keeps breathing. He grasps one of the sour candies and works on opening the wrapper. He pops it into his mouth and continues the breath exercise.

Red Hood is silent as he watches Robin pull himself back into reality.

It takes several more minutes before Robin's breaths return to normal. He lays there looking at the ceiling absolutely drained and done with this whole situation.

Finally, Tim turns his gaze to the crime lord.

"Can you just kill me already or get the fuck out?"

Red Hood responds by pulling off his helmet.

Tim blinks. Sighs. Then starts up his grounding techniques again.

New year and new art i post when I get tunnelvision while drawing. So anyways, I'm posting my twst fan kid.

His name is Vitus Draconia, and Malleus and Miguel's (my Yuusona) eldest kid and only son.

He's an extrovert. But man, did this dude inherit Malleus' height and aura of intimidation, along with his inability to not overthink casual interactions. But that happens when both your parents were over 6 feet and your human dad died when you were like in your 50s.

He's going through a rebellious phase, something that Malleus wishes Lilia were here to help him with. But at least he has Uncle Sebek and Sebek's daughter, another half fae, to go along with him. Does not help that he's overly self-conscious due to attending a school of majority humans.

I like to think that since Miguel is 100% gonna die due to being human, he probably is the only one attached to his human side compared to his younger sisters... who probably hadn't hatched when Miguel died. He's more of a mediator because of how much his sisters fight over their human features. With how much he loves his human side, compared to those two who never got to meet their dad. He's not very good at dealing with arguments, but it's the thought that counts.

Miscellaneous Stuff about him and his family

Birthday is January 18th. Like both his dads.

198cm, probably won't grow more and is thankful. He's already tall enough.

Sorted into Diasomnia. Refuses Prefect status during his first year initially, but jumps when he learns his dad (Miguel) was like a prefect with his "pet cat" during his first year.

He's a big lover of his dad's old clothes and fashion. Will alter them with magic.

Attached to humans and their livelihoods. The human percentage of Briar Valley has gone up to 38%

Portraits of Miguel throughout the years decorate the castle. Along with other portraits of other deceased family members, like Grandpa Lilia and Uncle Silver.

A far cry from Malleus' mostly solitude upbringing. Malleus makes sure to be as involved in his life and somewhat of a helicopter parent due to that. Along with having to deal with 2 quirked up twin sisters who are wrecking the castle during their fights.

Hyped to go to NRC while Malleus had ptsd flashbacks and worries the entire time. While his youngest daughters chaos mellows down bc their older brother left them.

Tight with other Fae families, like the Zigvolts . Specifically with Sebek and his daughter. (I like to think she's the same age or younger. But both go to NRC the same year. I like to think that NRC became officially coed after almost 200 years.)

Attempts to keep close with descendants of other alumni of NRC.

Even met a couple of the original students his parents attended with when he was still a dragon baby.

Miguel is his Dad while Malleus is his Father and any nickname he can say to be "trendy" as humans call it.

Augh, i love fan kids. I wanna make more soon. And even build more on my Yuusona bc he's a 27 year old man forced to be the older brother to dozens of kids. Shout out to DTI Halloween update for those Horns and keeping them.

How do you recreate the Hetalia artstyle so well

ok so.. .uhhhhhhhhhh honestly i dont even know how. which is why i am obviously qualified to make YOU, yes you, the person reading this, a tutorial

i psoted an incomplete tutorial on the hetalia art style some few months back and when i look back at it now, some things are just straight up wrong or need clarification (also its the same post where i accidentally sent multiple death threats to a random sex worker thinking they were just a porn bot oopsies) so if you guys still remember that, forget about it! all of it!!! this is a brand new, more accurate guide on how to draw himas style!

(quick warning though im just a weeb not a professional teacher by any means so dont take this as gospel and dont get mad if i got something wrong or something is confusing)

ok lets start off with the

HEADS

this is just the way i start drawing my heads personally. if i had to describe it, its basically a simplified stylized version of the loomis head method. proko has a good video on it! just give that a quick watch then take a look at my step by step guide

but besides this, there are some important things about the head that you should remember

the shape of the head is generally rectangular

compared to more typical ikemen styles, hetalia characters have a more rectangular head. HOWEVER their chins taper off to a very triangular shape. rarely do the chins flatten out like the guy on the left.

2. shorter face = younger/more feminine appearance

well... self explanatory. you can see in the diagram how changing the length of the face gives a character a more feminine/childish look.

if you feel that something looks kind of off, feel free to change it, but if it looks okay then lets move onto facial features!!!

NOSES:

ok so this might seem a little weird but i like drawing the nose first. its right in the middle of the face and is generally the easiest to get right. it also kind of acts as a divider between the eyes, especially useful when you're drawing in a 3/4 angle

which kind of look something like that i guess.....

or that if you want something less extreme

anyways while hetalia noses are kind of inconsistent they generally have the shape of these three lines. feminine/childlike characters have a smaller and subtler nose though

noses also never face fully straight ahead, so when drawing a front view, the nose slightly faces right or left (tbh himas characters rarely face the camera head on, so id refrain from drawing frontal views altogether but thats just me)

anyways lets move on to my second favorite part of the hetalia art style

EYES:

the eyes are the most important part of himas style. if all else fails, you can always recognize the style by the eyes. luckily for you, the eyes really arent complicated compared to other anime styles :D here is how i do it:

(feminine and childlike characters have bigger eyes)

you have probably noticed this but the pupils hima draws now has a more squiggly teary-eyed look compared to the pupils he drew then...

i subcounciously do a mixture of the two because i got used to drawing the old type, but if you wanna draw the new type of pupils just take note of their squigly shape and that they have one dominant highlight in the upper-middle area. uhhh.. or if youre like me just draw the old eyes as if you have parkinson's

anyways heres a step by step guide

and some fun eye variations!!! you can try using variants if youd like to give an oc a more unique look (you can also try making your own variants too but be careful of straying too far from the style)

so now about the eyebrow and the eyelid.... uhhh the eyelid doesnt really have a consistent length so just draw it however. feminine and childlike characters have thinner eyebrows but even then eyebrows should never be drawn as just a single line

we are close to finishing the face!!! now we can move onto

MOUTHS:

if you know how to draw a typical anime mouth, then hima mouths is easy peasy!

for closed mouths just draw a curved line with two dark blots for the corners of the mouth

i think that giving them a shaky look makes them look more expressive

open mouths are just random blobs, dont close off the bottom though, and theys till have those dark blots at the corner of the mouth

now then i'll move onto the

EARS + CHEEKS:

i decided to combine these two since these are probably the easiest parts of the face

hima's ears are pretty round and don't really vary in shape. inside the ears though....

it isnt very consistent, so don't think too hard about "getting them right". above are some ear variations i drew from one of the latest chapters of the manga

the cheeks are just a bunch of lines that can appear fully, or only on one cheek, or don't appear at all. i think it depends on level of detail, angle, or the character's emotion

these lines do not appear on rendered pieces

also if a character feels especially displeased they will gain heavy eyebags

so yay! we're pretty much done with the face!! look forward next time to where i cover hair, the body, and other stuff idk... i'll link the other parts to each other when i complete them

Stupid little angsty blurb for my war daddy 🥰🥰

Ares doesn’t have a soft spot for anyone. Not even his own kids get special treatment from him. He’s a lone wolf, he doesn’t need anyone else.

He’s not a sentimental guy, it’s just convenient that the diner you’ve worked at since before he met you was just up the road from where he found the kids. He can feel you watching them but he resists the urge to meet your gaze. Once he sends the younger pair away, he thinks you’ll come over. But you don’t. You’ve always understood that you don’t fit in his life.

Once he’s packed the whole group into the back of a truck and watched them drive away, his mind is back on you. Your shift must be almost over if it isn’t already. He could use some time with you to blow off some steam. Before he could even think of looking for you, he heard you behind him.

“Hey” You said nonchalantly. You clutched your purse almost self-consciously and your eyes darted around nervously. Some part of him bristled, you were never nervous around him, that’s what drew him to you the first time you met. He couldn’t scare you off.

“I know you’re busy but could you give me a ride home? Those guys are freaking me out” You explained quickly. He followed your gaze over to the group of truckers watching you like hungry animals.

“Get on the bike” Ares said lowly, never taking his eyes off the men. He couldn’t do anything to them, not that he didn’t want to. He couldn’t risk drawing too much attention to himself right now.

The ride to your apartment was a journey Ares was starting to get used to. You were quiet which he was thankful for. You knew he hated small talk. Once he pulled up, you quickly removed your arms from his torso and hovered on the sidewalk.

“You wanna come upstairs? Got to thank you for being my big scary friend” You offered

“How were you thinking of thanking me?” Ares asked cockily.

“Well, you always like that thing I do with my tongue” You shrugged, a sly grin on your lips.

He didn’t need much more persuasion than that.

Ares should have left hours ago. He should have had his fun with you and left. But now the golden beams of sunrise were streaming through your bedroom window. You were blissfully unaware, still fast asleep against the soft pillows. He watched you silently for a second, admiring how you beautiful looked in the golden glow.

You deserve a good man, he thinks to himself. Someone who would give you the world and treat you like a queen. He’d never admit it out loud but it will kill him when you do find someone. You understand him in a way that most humans wouldn’t. Part of him wishes he could just stay with you, live in the fantasy of spending your life together. Who else would put up with him for that long?

You stirred slightly, huffing slightly at the light on your face. His hand covered your eyes slightly to help you fall back asleep.

“Shh darling, it’s just me” He whispered and you hummed in response.
