first day shadowing at new job went well 🥺

Headcanon that Portugal and Spain used to play with these bad boys, to the dismay of all the humans around them.

These are called "ídolos oculados" which could be roughly translated as "eye idols".

They have been found all over the Iberian peninsula and archeologists believe that they probably represent a death deity, since most of them were found inside tombs.

But consider those two were babies and needed something to play with.

So apparently my 12yo brothers school decided not to let him go home because he needed to finish an assignment, and Thursday Night School is apparently “mandatory”.

And here’s the kicker. The school didn’t tell my mom about the assignment. They didn’t tell my mom about keeping my brother at school. NOTHING. So they essentially kidnapped my brother by holding him hostage (since they FORCED HIM to stay), and not contacting my mom about it at all. So nobody knew, and nobody could’ve picked him up, and the bus had already long since left at that point.

I had gone to this school for a year when I was 13-14. It was shitty then, but this is so much worse. I know it’s mostly convenient bc he can ride the bus while attending this school, but i honestly hope she can switch him to another middle school that’s not nearly as bullshit as this one is (she had done that with me and my brother, after she’s had similar issues, as well as issues for the schools “no tolerance” bullying policy meaning “if you get punched, you get punished. Even if you didn’t fight back”)

#my mom was fucking terrified understandably #apparently my brother is okay but poor boy thought he was in trouble #I hate this fucking school #and the real kicker is that they left a child in the office ALONE #there were no staff in the office so my mom couldn’t get in and my brother couldn’t get out #I mean there were teachers in the cafeteria #but iirc the office is blocked off on that side. so they couldn’t have seen in if they even cared to #also my brother couldn’t contact my mom himself because the school also took away his phone #yknow. the thing she got him for this very reason.#main reason why she also got me and my brother a phone at this age was because of the same thing #the bus would be so late so often that we’d be home an hour after school let out sometimes #which terrified my grandpa. to not know when we were coming home. if we were coming home at all.

time and time again the only things that take me out of deep depressive states are having fun and spending time with people and yet everytime i get so shocked like wow! love and fun and laughter sure made me feel like life is worth it again. who would've thought

#phew. im so tired but im very relieved #today was a good day. it feels so rare to ever be able to say this but it was #i went to sleep properly and woke up early and took a shower and had breakfast #my brother got to skip school and so he stayed home and we hung out together #i figured out how to make my headphone's mic work so we played lethal company together #then we watched the entirety of the snapcube sonic rider fandub together (because i never saw it)#then my mom had to go out in the city and celebrated her new paycheck by getting us ice cream #then at night my friends and i did our weekly dunmeshi watch party and izutsumi finally showed up #and now im here. and i feel very nice. im glad to be here today #🧃.txt

being the youngest person at work is being the honorary IT specialist despite knowing basically nothing abt technology except how to use google

#im not even like being modest when i say i'm embarrassingly bad at tech stuff #but bc i can use google and sometimes find a convoluted solution to a problem on my own i am an expert #currently the classroom ipad has not functioned properly for months #and i'm the only reason it functions at all lol #as soon as i leave its gonna be a shitshow lol #they cant even open the gallery to see the pics of the kids like its supposed to it hasnt opened in months #i'm the only person who knows to go to files to see the pictures and delete some for more space #and it took me a minute to figure out how to delete hundreds at a time #i usually delete 2k or so at the beginning of every week #bc we take like hundreds every day then sort thru for the good ones to post for the parents #so it's got thousands of pictures on it and you get storage warnings constantly #and it stops working #its got other problems too tho #but i at least got the picture taking and deleting problem mostly figured out but its not the way it was #yet its usable thanks to me only #and all my coworkers will be fucked when i leave bc they're all old lol #we already sent it to the office to get fixed twice and it came back the same #and im p sure this school doesnt have an actual tech department #and they'll be annoyed if they're told they have to buy a new one #bc the KNOW that i was making it work for months #so whoever says its impossible is just a failure lol #anyway #lol #anyway when i go home i call my brother to handle all technology issues w anything #bc i really suck at it #but at work i'm like a tech genius just bc im under 30

i am forced to give my guitar to my cousin ONCE & he 1. loses my fav plectrum (it's in the guitar hole 🤬🤬🤬) 2. jams my plectrum holder and 3. snaps a cord located inside the guitar hole ???? it's just dangling outside idk im gonna bash his face in the next time he comes over

I'M NEVER GONNA GET IT BACK BROTHER #and then !!!!! my plectrum holder just. stopped working. like it jammed. i can't take any of my picks outta there #i just KNOW he fiddled w/ it but he's lying every step of the way so im too pissed @ him to have a civil convo w/ him abt it #and now !!!!! once my mom came home she reached into the guitar hole & stared at smth for 5 mins & went.#“what's this” & when i looked up it was !!! a goddamn snapped wire/cord !!!!!#WHAT WAS HE DOING W/ MY BELOVED GUITAR !!!!!
