some thoughts on dave lalonde
so note this isn’t a kidswap au, just a strilonde guardian swap au; a plausible au wherein dave’s meteor(s) are set to land in upstate new york and rose’s in houston tx where they are discovered by mom lalonde and bro strider respectively. so it’s not even really an “alternative universe” so much as “alternative circumstance” because that’s literally all that changes
their interests aren’t swapped; their interests are a natural result of a mix of what they were always predisposed towards (we can look at their post-scratch versions for constants) combined with their living environment. rose strider is still gothy and writes, knits, and has an interest in the zoologically dubious. perhaps rose might handcraft some delirious puppets for her brother-slash-ectofather’s enterprise as a “gift” in one-upmanship. probably has good rapport with the crows that fly into her ironic knockoff disney-princess themed bedroom (see the post i linked above) and get them to fuck with bro passively in exchange for peanuts. she also keeps all the things the crows gift her, pickpocketed shiny things and whatnot
dave lalonde is still the knight of time, still makes sbahj, likes photography, still loves cooking up unbelievably ill jams, still into post-ironic expression, however he’s not irony-poisoned by bro so he’s more comfortable being genuine. his interest in dead things and paleontology comes more to a forefront because of mom’s predilection towards science and genuine encouragement from her. after all she’s made many a mutant kitten herself
i feel like since dave fell to earth with maplehoof, crushing the pony instantly on impact, instead of using its hide to make a bib like a fucking weirdo, mom would paradox clone maplehoof. so dave has a pet pony with a ribbon and little pink heart on it. a knight needs a loyal steed. and hes been attached to maplehoof since his literal first few minutes of existing. so maplehoof wouldnt be bought anywhere, it would originate from itself
i mean he’s seen with the pony at his side in the post-scratch universe so…..
would make sense if the pony mom gifted to rose in canon was more of an involved thing with dave in this circumstance
the only issue is maplehoof cant become his sprite, otherwise that would break the timeloop (they need to come unaltered to earth with dave on the meteor in the first place during the reckoning). also [S] Ride with dave and the scarf would absolutely be a thing at some point
i was thinking maybe instead of a crow, since they aren’t as “everywhere” in upstate new york as they are in that high rise in texas, dave has something more prehistoric put into a sprite. like a parave theropod. can you imagine parave davesprite. maybe an archaeopteryx or something
i guess mom would indulge in a living museum/zoo for “domesticated” ancient organisms all jurassic parked like a weird ongoing experiment but the ectobiology wouldnt be perfect especially because the dna wouldnt be able to be fully read from fossils and specimens. i feel like jurassic park should be dave lalonde’s sort of in-universe media reference the way con air was with john and putting the bunny back in the box. like his friends would just rip on him for living out jurassic park in an imperfect domestic way
and he accidentally kills it through some fetch modus shenanigans. dave still has the bladekind strife specibus but not because he does rooftop battles but because swords are unironically cool, and flings it out the window by accident and it strikes one of the parave theropods in the enclosed zoo below outside his window and dave feels kinda bad
when jade sees it as his server player shes like “oh nooooo :(“ and dave is like “oh god no dont put that in the seizure kernel while i take a piss in one of the many fancy bathrooms this household has”
#homestuck#strilonde guardian swap#dave lalonde#rose strider#hs#homestuck meta#however i dont know what dave(sprite) would have prototyped his sprite with before going back#because lil cal isnt there#but also john and jade would be dead so hed have to go back anyway#so i guess it doesnt really matter what doomed dave prototypes

live episode reaction: "save the children" (cme 17x10)
ooh time for another formative trauma for my girl
i’m not emotional about dave and tara, you are
the wheelchairs would be so funny in another context
i love how their mission totally changes focus when em’s gone like fuck the strat we’ve gotta find emily
voit you’re so annoying i don’t want to fucking see or listen to you anymore
emily being the center of everything. conspiracy girlies just like me for real.
oh honey her list of kidnappings - cyrus 2008, doyle 2011, lewis 2017 (+bailey 2024)
ooh projector time
“you know, the first time i was out in the field i threw up.” “really?” “no. i was just trying to make you feel better.” I LOVE HER one thing about emily is she will extend such care even to this fuckin guy
paget brewster is about to deliver an incredible episode all while sitting down and i can’t wait
“you’re an only child, right? you scream only child.”
YOU HAVE A SISTER???? (i can’t decide if this is ridiculous and fucked up retroactive writer shit or if hiding a sibling from her colleagues for ~20 years is a deeply emily thing to do. or a secret third thing: spycraft lying to bailey about having a sibling so he’d be at ease/trust her/tell her more about his brother.)
oh secret siblings plotline my beloathed (interesting tie-in in this particular case it just Always rubs me the wrong way)
WAIT WAIT it's “i’m floating the idea of an eviler twin.”
“if we lose prentiss because of this, no classification in the world is gonna save you.” / “i’m not threatening your career, ray.” FUCK HIM UP ROSSI i for one would love these old men to fight
i know this is far from revelatory but god i fuckin hate madison he sucks. like. so much.
rebecca. wilson. you. rock.
“i agree, but this is emily.” full argument from ms. jareau, she said emily is a complete sentence
this brother thing is. just. so dumb.
“goddammit, i bit through my tongue.” this woman
“YOUR BOYFRIEND’S DEAD BECAUSE YOU SHOT HIM, BABE, AND YOU KILLED HIM FOR NO REASON.” EMILY PRENTISS THE WOMAN THAT YOU ARE
ughh don’t call her jenny
“our special time in the cells” god and the grounding thing with her necklace this sucks so much i’m sorry jj
the way tyler is so quickly ride or die for emily this guys gets it
“and if i say no?” “voit doesn’t go, and emily dies.” oh dave
“not just the spirit but the letter of the law.” “really? you’re telling me this?” “i know. that’s why i’m not going.”
PG ABOUT TO POP OFF SHE GAVE TYLER HER GLASSES KILL HIM GARCIE I GOT YOUR FLOWER
hey baby girl wtf was that?
AWWWW CHOCOLATE THUNDER MORGAN MENTION! AFTER ALL THIS TIME? ALWAYS!
YES JJ GETS HER CONFRONTATION i do wish she had any kind of support ever though. go jj being able to handle things but you shouldn’t have to (alone).
RUINED THIS MAN’S WHOLE CAREER GOOD JOB BABY
“he had a drive that… i used to have it.” tear my entire heart open why don’t you (this is a surprise tool that will help us later, i.e. come up with a vengeance next season)
the way emily sat up straight to die, believing so completely that jade was going to kill her and she was like ‘alright, let’s go. stand and face it bravely.’
catholic guilt emily goes hard as always
the thing that really shakes her is the idea of her team in danger. the way she would die in a heartbeat to save them. you don’t get it.
“do you know that feeling when you’re staring up at the ceiling and you’re thinking, what if it’s all bullshit? maybe it’s after a preacher’s sermon or your dad yelling at you or–” “or some man is done holding you down.” “so you know.” “i do.” “so you know that– that the only way to make it through is to just. buy all the bullshit. because the alternative is way too fucking hard.” / “we need you to tell us your truth.” “will you listen to me this time?” “yes. we will.”
yeah so i’m gonna be thinking about emily saying ‘or some man is done holding you down.’ for the rest of ever
also about emily buying all the (bureau) bullshit, the grand mission, not a higher power but a higher purpose, a reason for her suffering, holding her faith in the system like religion (you can take the girl out of the catholic church etc)
i hate that we spent so much of the season finale getting cozy with a character we’d never met and weren’t meant to care about further than we could throw him and took the time for a long arrest montage sequence (and the gang standing around looking goofy af) and yet there was no time for a team reunion scene???? DumB
“not when your valor depends on my discretion.” emily prentiss you are INcredIBLE
emily ‘i will do the right thing if it kills me’ prentiss (phrase functions as threat, promise, devotion, degradation, and request all at once btw)
she is just. so catholic.
QUANTEECO CALLBACK KIRSTENNNNNN
“i’m omnipresent” i love her
hooray you’re alive cake nope i’m dead this is the funniest possible choice
“so you were so high you couldn’t get off the couch?” “i thought i was dying. i have never been that high–ever. now, emily on the other hand…” “every time i think i know her, she surprises me with another secret.” LIKE A SECRET SISTER??? (also what an insane way to trivialize their deep connective moments in that episode. and does make me think even more about how jj probably would not have said anything like what she said if she hadn't been high off her ass.)
rebecca’s hair is bad here i’m sorry
“we decided we’re more miserable apart than together.” god they love to have sapphics together AROUND a season, never during one. because they hate us. (i say this in a joking way.)
(but do i though?)
“she’s schwarzenegger, i’m devito.” i hate this. hate crimes.
“why are you saying his name in my personal lair?” pen calling her home a lair i love you penelope garcia
the long history of emily not fucking being at team things i know she’s gonna swing in at the end but BRUH
also GIVE HER A MOMENT TO EMOTIONALLY REFLECT YOU COWARDS the cock of plot is so far down my throat like bro EASE UP let these bitches have some emotional depth. as a treat. state mandated. the state is me.
writers are you absolutely shitting my dick no addressing emily’s trauma with the team??? like at fucking all??????? wait a minute. this is the bad place! (i know they’re gonna deal with it next season like they did with the rossi shit, it’s classic cross-season rollover biz but also WHAT THE HELL)

!!!! page 413 revealed !!!!
(page 409-418)
7/28/2009 Wheel Spin: Sburb Lore Verdict: INCORRECT
7/29/2009 Wheel Spin: Character Switch Verdict: CORRECT!!!!
First, we get the details of John's shift from hammerkind to handlekind. It's a fun mechanic, but I'm a little sad because I really liked the idea of John needing to use both separate halves of the hammer to defeat the shale imp. Also, being able to repair the hammer just by merging cards is definitely consistent with existing captchalogue lore, but it's a tiny bit unsatisfying if a weapon getting broken isn't a meaningful risk. Still, I like getting clarification on the rules, it definitely helps for future theorizing.
Dave is pestering everyone here, as is seemingly his way. I like his silly face being in the speech bubbles on p.411 and p.415, and I know it's for the player/reader and doesn't exist to the characters, but it raises the question. Do John and Rose have any idea what Dave looks like? He's a photographer, and in 2009 digital cameras have just recently become affordable enough to be mainstream. It's cute to think about these kids taking grainy digital pictures of themselves and figuring out how to upload a picture to Pesterchum so that they can show each other what they look like. But it's also funny to imagine that booting up Sburb was Rose's first ever time seeing John's face.
I expected Rose to bring the generator back to her house, but no, she's straight up in the mausoleum. Just setting up a tiny home with her tuxedoed dead cat and her books and pillows and violin. This is unquestionably the most goth thing she's ever done, and it totally rules. She also shares some perspectives on how the dead should be buried, and while she might just be being contrarian and going against what her mom has done, I think it fits with her character that she'd have strong opinions on this. She's the kind of kid who might have already drawn up a funeral plan for herself.
One thing I 100% agree with Rose on? Generator safety IS everyone's business. I think it makes sense that she'd know about that given that she lives in such a rural area, and it's cool to see her exercise those practical skills.
And I gotta say, good on John for noticing the door had been put back into place. I had to scroll back through the comic a bunch to notice what was out of place - he doesn't have that luxury and he's been through a lot recently. He's definitely more perceptive than I give him credit for.
We end this segment with an absolute slam dunk of a prankster's gambit from John's nan. And really, who's surprised? She was probably the OG prankster of John's family, and taught John's dad everything he knows. And now she's come back as a ghost, merged with a mischievous, one-armed, cake-smeared harlequin doll, and is basically the absolute embodiment of mischief. The fact that she was killed by a Colonel Sassacre's and a ladder, and that John recently got up to some urn based antics, can't hurt either.
Everything that has happened to this woman in canon has been classic comedy related - and this plus the Ghost Dad parallels make me think that her coming back as a pranky ghost has been planned from the start. And her reveal moment is very satisfying - glowing, hovering, unapologetic, her prankster's gambit bar at max having just succeeded on an often-pulled prank that's classic for a reason, an old timey version of Harlequin playing. Hoo hoo hoo indeed.
#homestuck#reaction#i don't know if page 413 is actually anything special and relevant#unless the generator or the mausoleum or jaspers go on to have crazy levels of plot relevance? maybe????#chrono

hi! would you consider writing something with oblivious rossi?
maybe hotch gets hurt and rossi is trying to take care of him and gets angry at morgan for trying to take over or be hotch's emergency contact or something.
could be paternal/platonic/romantic rossi
Sorry this took a freaking half a year to finish! I hope you like it! (Or are...you know...still hanging around this fandom. SO SORRY.)
Summary: When the excitement is over, all that remains is to regroup. Hotch won't get into an SUV so Rossi follows him to the wreckage of Derek's ambulance. Things just keep getting weirder for Rossi after that.
Words: 7.1k
Pairing: Hotch/Morgan
Warnings: explosions & injuries (if you've seen lo-fi/mayhem you know)
Notes: YEAH. Another Mayhem fic. Just a whole lot of Hotch being exceptionally Hotch-like. Frustrating and totally mad but we love him right? I am posting the whole fic here (and on ao3) because it's a one shot for once!
***
I’ll give you a ride back to the hotel,” Rossi said, stopping Hotch in his tracks. He’d been hoping to make his exit in silence, while everyone was occupied, but Rossi was watching him. A little too closely.
“That’s alright,” Hotch replied coolly, his eyes trained on a spot on the floor. A fleck of mica in the linoleum held his attention longer than it should have, a dead giveaway that his marbles were suitably scrambled. They might not have evaluated for a concussion but he definitely had one and there was no denying it.
“I insist. They don’t need our help here and you look like you could use a nice hot shower. Come on.”
Hotch followed dutifully, unable to conjure an excuse on the spot. His mind was a hotbed of misery, he was about two minutes from complete collapse and that didn’t leave a lot of room for quick wit. Rossi smiled victoriously, attempting to make some kind of small talk on the way through the front doors of the hospital. The conversation was one sided. At the curb, parked beside the bright red no parking emergency vehicles only pain was a black SUV. His body turned to static electricity and he stopped dead in his tracks, the ache behind his sternum becoming a rumbling freight train. Rossi pressed the button and the fob set off a chirping noise in the SUV. Hotch didn’t exactly flinch, but his hearing went out entirely and became a high pitched screaming and nothing else.
“I think I’ll walk,” he muttered. It sounded completely nonsensical to Rossi, his speech somewhat slurred in his sudden panic.
“Come on Aaron, you need some rest.”
“I said I’d rather walk.”
“You look like you can barely stand let alone walk…”
“I said I’d rather walk.” He could scarcely hear Rossi, but that didn’t matter. He knew he wasn’t getting into that damn SUV.
“Okay, okay. I’ll walk with you.”
Hotch’s legs were already moving, feet pounding pavement as fast as they would carry him on weary bones and aching joints. Putting as much space between he and that powder keg SUV as he could. The faster he tried to move, the more pronounced his limp became and Rossi struggled to catch up.
“Aaron, slow down!”
“I don’t need a babysitter Dave.”
“I worry. Humor, me would you? Slow down. It’s two miles back to the hotel from here.”
Hotch realized as he moved forward that he wasn’t exactly headed back to the hotel. He knew the way, but he had other plans. Then Rossi would really think he’d gone mad.
Maybe he had. He wasn’t in any position to judge madness, not at this point. He’d spent the day watching people be murdered on city cameras and finished out his evening by being blown up in the middle of Manhattan and then watching the man responsible slice his own throat to avoid being arrested. Now he was touring the streets of Manhattan in a concussed fog looking for a street he knew had to be coming up soon. He knew the city well enough, maybe not as well as Rossi but he could manage. On a good day at least.
At a crosswalk he stopped and cocked his head to the side, listening to the sounds of the city. He’d been hoping to hear the sirens, the commotion, but this was a city that never went quiet and he’d lost his bearings. The smoke was coating the sidewalks in all direction, he couldn’t tell where the plume originated. Rossi caught up to him and stood by his side, awaiting his next move.
“If you’re headed where I think you are, take a left at the next intersection.”
“You don’t need to come.”
Rossi shrugged helplessly. “I’m not going to let you wander around Manhattan alone, Aaron. Not in your state. Besides, I’d like to see how our friend fared myself.”
Hotch didn’t respond, he just entered the crosswalk when the light changed and began heading for the next intersection. Rossi kept up with him but didn’t speak, not for a long time. He was too busy watching him, making sure that he didn’t fall over. Again and again his leg buckled beneath him and Rossi reached out, ready to stop his face from hitting the cement, but each time Hotch managed to right himself and move with even more determination to just get where he was going.
Ahead, a few exhausting blocks further, was an entrance to Central Park. They weren’t where they needed to be, but they were close. The footpath would take them over a small bridge, beneath streetlamps glowing through the smoky haze. As they crested the bridge, he could see the smoldering remains of Derek’s ambulance and it ignited something inside of him. He began running, turning briskly from the pavement into the great sea of grass.
It was more of a painful lope, one leg clearly doing the majority of the work, and Rossi kept on his heels. It wasn’t hard, Hotch wasn’t running fast. “Aaron, we can walk, no one is going anywhere.”
Rossi’s pleas fell on deaf ears. Partially because Hotch’s hearing had almost entirely gone out, partially because he was so focused on that ambulance that the rest of the world had disappeared. He didn’t even hear Rossi’s protest.
He whipped out his credentials when stopped at the barrier, flipping them open with one trembling hand. Rossi followed suit, and without much hesitation they were allowed to pass into the scene. The heat was astounding, charred grass and flickering embers still being snuffed out by the fire department. Hotch’s pace slowed as he got closer, as he took in the full image of desolation. Molten metal, the ambulance he’d driven not long ago reduced to nothing but charred remains.
“Aaron…” Rossi said when Hotch stumbled to a halt. Like he simply couldn’t move forward. “We don’t need to be here. They have it covered.”
The ground was wet, sopping and soggy, his feet were sinking in the mush. They’d been pushing so much water over the ground, over the ambulance, the whole place was saturated and swampy. It smelled like gasoline and the still billowing smoke made him cough.
“Aaron. Come on. Not tonight.”
“Hotch!” A voice rang out through the night, and while he’d heard very little of what Rossi was saying to him, he heard Derek’s voice clear as a bell. He turned and squinted in the direction he thought the voice had come from, trying to see through the stagnant smoke hanging thick around the site. “HOTCH!” Derek appeared then, running out of the plumes of smoke still rising like phantom geysers from the wreckage and Hotch stood dumbfounded as Derek slammed into him. For a split second neither of them worried about injuries, about the clash of ribs and the twisting of arms and the intense relief as Derek buried his face in the warmth of Hotch’s sweaty neck. He smelled like antiseptic and blood, a welcome reprieve from the overwhelming acrid smoke.
“You’re in so much trouble,” Hotch whispered, his nose against Derek’s ear, arms wrapped tight. If they were alone he might have been inclined to allow a kiss but they were already pushing past any professional boundaries that might still exist between them. He caught Rossi staring and turned away, avoiding the intensity of his glare.
“My turn?” Rossi asked, oblivious. Or maybe not. Maybe he was just trying to divert the attention from the emotional meeting before people started asking questions, before he had to start asking questions himself. Derek obliged, hugging Rossi with half the vigor of what he’d just given Hotch but it made people look away, satisfied that what they were seeing was more of a family reunion than a lover’s embrace.
Rossi still wasn’t sure himself. Hotch and Derek’s relationship had always eluded his grasp. One minute they were thick as thieves, sharing a braincell, and the next they were at each other’s throats barely able to even be in the same room. The charge between them was intense and the pendulum swung wildly back and forth.
This case in New York had been no exception. The two of them had been scrapping like cats and dogs, more glares than gazes. Everything had been tense from the first sight of Kate Joyner.
“I’ll call us a car,” Rossi said as Hotch and Derek stood having a silent conversation, just staring at one another in a way that made Rossi feel like an intruder.
“I’ll walk,” Hotch insisted again. Rossi thought he’d be over that by now, that he’d just wanted to get here without being at someone else’s mercy, but there was more to it. Derek and Rossi shared a glance, and all at once without putting words to it, they realized why Hotch wanted to walk.
“I’ll join you,” Derek said quickly. “Rossi, you can go back to the hotel. We’re done here anyway.”
“I don’t mind the walk,” Rossi insisted, but Derek shot him a look that was almost seething. It took him a second to realize he wasn’t being asked not to join them but told. He was a third wheel. “Okay. I’ll see you fellas in the morning. JJ has the jet scheduled to leave at 11.”
“I can’t fly,” Hotch muttered. “The field office has secured me a ride back to Quantico.”
“You?” Rossi asked, suddenly smirking. “The man who won’t get into an SUV with someone he knows and trusts tonight?”
“I’ll manage.”
Rossi shrugged helplessly. Hotch had to be the most frustrating person he’d ever known in his life. Hands down. Not even Gideon could hold a candle to the absolute madness of knowing this man.
“Watch him, will ya?” Rossi asked, looking directly at Derek.
“Of course.”
(x)
Derek woke up before anyone else. He knew because the lobby was quiet, the little continental breakfast room was quiet though freshly stocked with pastries and fruit and hot coffee, the whole place was quiet. If Emily or Spencer had been awake there would certainly have been noise. He threw his bag over his shoulder and wandered the carpeted hallways, taking a few extra minutes to gather his thoughts. The night before was a blur of fire and exhaustion. He and Hotch had walked back in complete silence, a little over two miles without saying a word except to bid one another goodnight at Hotch’s hotel room door. No invitation inside. Hotch didn’t offer, Derek didn’t ask. That hug had taken it all out of them, had quenched the immediate thirst for connection, but there was still so much turmoil between them that they weren’t able to touch the night before.
Sleep had cleared Derek’s mind enough that he could his his way to a resolution and he only had to hope that Hotch fared the same. Somehow he doubted that the other man had slept much if at all. Passed out in short spurts, probably, but not restful sleep.
“Has anyone checked out yet this morning from my team?” Derek asked, now standing in front of the front desk. He flashed his credentials and slapped down the list of room numbers he wanted checked. The young man with horn rimmed glasses and slicked back hair frowned as he clicked away at his keyboard.
“Room 614,” the front desk attendant whose nametag read Miraz said, sliding the paper back to Derek. “About fifteen minutes ago.”
614. Rossi. Where the hell was Rossi going this early? He was usually the last one up and moving, he liked to take his sweet time. At least Hotch had stayed put, he was still in his room, with any luck sleeping. They had hours left.
“I’d like to check out. Room 801.”
“Derek Morgan?”
“Yes,” he said, wondering now if Miraz had even bothered to look at his credentials. Probably not. “You see which way the guy from 614 went?”
Miraz shrugged and his face seemed to say he wasn’t a babysitter, he didn’t get paid enough to care where guests went once they were no longer paying for his services. Derek couldn’t blame him.
“Thanks bud.”
“Hey,” Miraz said as Derek turned to grab his bag from the floor. “Did I see you on the news last night? That explosion in Central Park?”
Derek thought about shrugging, just to give the guy a taste of his own medicine, but he really wasn’t in the mood to play games. “Yeah. That was me.”
“You saved a whole bunch of lives. That’s really cool. Was it scary?”
“Uh...yeah. It was a little scary driving an ambulance rigged to explode through Manhattan. Almost shit my pants when I jumped out. First thing I did when I stood up was check my pants.”
That got a laugh out of Miraz who seemed to lighten up a little. “That guy, 614? I only saw him go out the front door, he was on his phone when he checked out. Sounded like he was going to meet someone. Thanks for doing what you did...my mom lives close to St Sebastian.”
Derek smiled and nodded, lifting up his bag. “You’re welcome. That’s my job. Hey, can I leave a note for the guy in 311?”
“Sure. Here.” Miraz slipped Derek a pad of paper emblazoned with the hotel logo at the top and a pen to match.
“Just make sure you give this to him. He’s gonna look pretty mean...be nice to him, okay? He had a rough night.”
“Was he the guy in the car that blew up?”
“Yeah, kid. He was. You saw that on the news too huh?”
“It’s all everyone was talking about last night. Bet if you went into the restaurant you’d hear it everywhere.”
Derek left after that, feeling better about the interaction than he’d started. His note was simple, just asking Hotch to call him. Somehow he knew Hotch wouldn’t, but he couldn’t control that. He could control his own reaction to the situation. He’d given Hotch space last night – yeah, the case was over and technically they were well within their relationship limits to spend time together behind closed doors once that had happened, but something about the way everything went down told him it wasn’t a good time. To let Hotch have space, to lick his wounds. He needed to come to terms with what happened on his own before he could ever hope to let anyone else in, it was just a part of who he was. And maybe Derek needed some of that himself this time too. He had no regrets, but he did spend a lot of the night worried that Hotch wasn’t okay. That his injuries were worse than he let on. Kate died and Hotch just had a blown ear drum and some shrapnel in his leg? He didn’t buy it.
But they’d walked two miles together and Hotch held up. He limped and there were times it was pretty clear he was dizzy, that he couldn’t hear well or even at all, but he walked nonetheless. It wasn’t nothing.
Derek stepped out into the bright early morning and looked around, wondering where in the hell Rossi went. What was he up to? JJ had gone to stay with Will for the night but she’d already secured the jet, there was nothing to do except just show up and take off.
He thought about calling, but what would he say? There was no real reason he should find himself so concerned about Rossi’s whereabouts. Pushing it out of his mind, he made his way toward the FBI Field Office, intending to talk with them about Kate first, and then Hotch’s ride. He knew Agent Davis had been assigned to drive him back to Quantico, and then make the return trip on her own. Derek thought he could spare her the trouble and chauffeur Hotch on his own. At least then it would be a one way trip and they could have some time alone together. The last thing Davis needed was to have to spend 5 hours in a car with the grouchiest Unit Chief on the East Coast. No one was better equipped to deal with the emotional fallout of the last week as it settled on Hotch than Derek. He was somewhat responsible for it, afterall.
On his way, he called Sean and talked to him. Sean had seen the news by the ragged sound of his voice, by the way he sounded drunk at 7am. “I heard about Kate,” he said, his voice barely more than a whisper. Raw, red sounding words, like he’d been pounding whiskey and cigarettes all night. Derek wasn’t surprised.
“I’m sorry, man.”
“How’s Aaron?” The sound of Sean’s voice hadn’t surprised Derek, but Sean asking about his brother did. It wasn’t like him to be concerned about his brother, at least not before exhausting the attention himself. He must have seen the bomb.
“Rough,” Derek said, quickening his pace. It occurred to him that Rossi might have had the same idea he had, that Rossi might be off trying to reassign Davis himself. “But alive. I’m going to drive him back home, he can’t fly. Was thinking maybe the three of us could meet for breakfast before we skip town.”
“Oh. I uh…” Sean started, and Derek could hear sheets twisting and an inhale, he had a cigarette already. “I don’t think Aaron wants to see me. He didn’t even tell me you guys were in town.”
“You know how he is on cases, bud. Nothing personal. Come on. I’m buyin’.”
Sean’s stomach growled and he knew his hangover would be epic if he didn’t eat...hell, it was going to be epic anyway, but something greasy might curb the bite. “Yeah. Okay. Look my car’s broken down and my bike’s in storage…I pawned my ten speed for rent money a couple weeks ago so I’m hoofing it these days...”
“We’ll come to you. Text me a restaurant and a time, we’ll meet you there.”
He found Rossi outside of the field office looking pleased with himself. The look on his face was concerning and took Derek back to the night before. “Rossi!” Derek called, picking up the pace. Rossi turned and looked at him, waving a little as he did so.
“You’re up early. The jet doesn’t leave until 11.”
“Yeah, I actually thought I’d give Hotch a ride home. Came by to tell Agent Davis she didn’t have to drive Miss Daisy.”
Rossi, with a look of amusement, replied. “Already taken care of. I’ll drive Aaron back to Quantico.”
Exactly what Derek was hoping to avoid. The two of them, while not actively hiding anything, hadn’t really gone public. It never seemed like the right time. It was hard to look at pictures of humans at their worst, the evils of the world, and say Hey guys guess what? We kiss now.
“Would you mind if I did?” Derek asked, hoping he could play it cool. “We kinda had a rough time on this case and I’d like to do some damage control. You know?”
“I don’t think he’s in any condition to be doing damage control, Morgan. Why don’t you save that for next week?” The smug look on Rossi’s face was irritating. Derek wasn’t in the mood.
He’d been so confident, so sure that he could get here in time to seal the deal. Why would Rossi be so adamant about doing it? About spending five hours in a car with Hotch who was bound to be grouchier than a grizzly bear with a thorn in its paw? He was dangerously close to playing his trump card, the only thing stopping him was knowing damn well Hotch wouldn’t want that. Rossi was making it awfully damn hard.
It had started the night before, in the hospital. He was the first to show up on the floor, the first to rush into Hotch’s hospital room. Derek was in the bathroom cleaning himself up, giving Hotch a minute to sit quietly on the bed and just think without distraction – it was all he said he needed, just a minute to clear his head. They were missing something and if he could just get some quiet he might find it, but of course as he quickly came to realize, the joke was on him. There was no quiet to be had, not inside his head. The ringing and the pain were louder than anything in the hospital, and then there comes Rossi jogging into the room shouting “Aaron! Aaron!” and trying to force him to lay down. “You need to rest.” That hadn’t gone over well, not for any of them. Hotch didn’t want to rest, he just wanted Rossi to stop making noise, and Derek just wanted the night to be over. He’d tried to get Rossi to leave, to let Hotch get dressed in peace, but it only turned into an argument outside of his room while they waited for Hotch to finish.
“Just because they’re pointing at you to run the field office up here…” Rossi had started, and Derek looked around helplessly at the team who hadn’t known any of that. “Not here Rossi. Back off.” No, things had definitely not gone well the night before. The scene in the park had been less frustrating but there was still some uneasiness about Rossi, some hesitation there and it had clearly spurred him on this morning. He had little hope that Rossi was going to let him have this without a fight. Not when he looked at Rossi’s little smile that said I win, though what he thought he was winning Derek couldn’t decide.
“We’re having breakfast with Sean before leaving. I just got off the phone with him. He’s expecting us.”
Rossi cocked his head to the side like he didn’t quite understand what Derek said. “You called Sean?”
“He and I have been buddies a long time, man. He knew Kate pretty well...they kinda dated a while back…”
“Kate Joyner? Dated Sean Hotchner?” Rossi could barely believe his ears. She seemed far too smart and put together to date someone like Sean, that was what Derek saw flash over Rossi’s features. He took immediate offense, bristling at the thought that Sean might not be good enough for someone. He had plenty of faults, but he was a good man and he’d never treated a lover poorly. That was reserved for himself, self-loathing a particularly strong Hotchner trait. They didn’t care half as much about themselves as they did others.
“I guess when she was new to the city. I don’t know man, he’s handsome and he cleaned himself up pretty good for a while. But I’m a little worried this is gonna make him relapse. I thought if we...Hotch and I...took him out for breakfast maybe we could help.”
There was a dawning look of curiosity on Rossi’s face that Derek didn’t like, but he supposed it was only a matter of time. “You know, if I didn’t know any better I’d say there might be something going on between you that you aren’t sharing with the class.”
“Me and Sean?” Derek asked, feigning ignorance. He wasn’t very good at it. Rossi didn’t smile.
Now Derek just felt like a slimeball. Sure, he’d been angry at Rossi the night before but it wasn’t really angry it was just frustration, exasperation. Rossi was pushing him and it would have been so much easier if he could just fucking tell him WHY because he knew Rossi would respect that and leave them alone but he was trying his best to honor Hotch’s wishes that they be discreet for a while longer. Until the dust settled on his divorce, until they were back on Strauss’ good side...well this sure as hell wasn’t going to put them there and frankly that they ever would be on her good side was starting to look hopeless. The only thing he knew for sure was that he had to have a heart to heart with Rossi. He had to lay it out or this game of tug-o-war was never going to end.
“Let’s go grab a coffee,” he suggested, looking at the time. He still had a while before Hotch would get up. Or at least a while before he would be leaving his room. His rendezvous with Agent Davis was 9am, there was time enough to have a meaningful talk with Rossi and still make it. “I think maybe we need to have a chat.”
“If you’re planning to explain the birds and the bees, kid, save your breath.” Rossi said with a smirk and Derek shook his head. He couldn’t believe this man sometimes.
“Well damn. Guess we’ll have to find something else to talk about.”
“I have a feeling you’ve got that covered.”
They walked along listening to the sounds of morning in Manhattan, street vendors and taxi cabs, people shouting and cars honking and music everywhere. The city never slept but it seemed a little extra electric this morning after the terror of the last week, after the excitement of the night before. Newsstands were showered with photos of explosions in black and white and full color spreads, and everyone was telling what they knew or heard. Even in passing Derek could pick up how little of it was true. “I heard it was the President in that hospital…” “No, it was the Secretary of Defense…” “No, it was the Pope…” Derek had to roll his eyes as the stories got more and more outlandish. Still, no one seemed to recognize him immediately though a few people did do quick second takes as he walked by – he thought Hotch might not be so fortunate. His picture was all over the papers.
“Looks like you boys are celebrities,” Rossi said, pointing at a photo of Derek crouched in front of Hotch on the street. It was taken by zoom lens, probably somewhere just past the barricade Derek had worked his way through. Rossi picked it up and stared for a minute and Derek wondered what he was thinking – could he see the look in his eye? That absolute devastation at seeing Hotch bleeding in the street? And could he see the look in Hotch’s eye? Like Derek was some kind of savior? Rossi looked at the photo for a long time and Derek sucked in a shaky breath, glancing around at the crush of people crossing the busy street. “They’re calling you heroes.”
“They don’t know what else to do with their fear,” Derek whispered, still staring at the picture of Hotch. He didn’t know what else to do with it either.
“How about this place?” Rossi indicated a little cafe with outdoor seating that looked like they had room for a few more. Just a few steps past the newsstand. “Looks nice.”
They were seated quickly and ordered just as fast – a coffee and a slice of quiche for Derek, coffee and a croissant sandwich full of meat and cheese for Rossi. Easy and fast, they had their food right from the glass deli counter and began eating. Rossi was going to wait Derek out and watched with curiosity as he picked the egg away from the crust and set the crust aside.
“So that’s how you get a body like that,” Rossi said with a smirk. “You deprive yourself of the good parts.”
“Good parts? Man, crust isn’t the good part. Not when you got spinach and egg and cheese in here. I love food, I don’t love empty calories.”
“Not ever?”
“Did I say that?”
Rossi smiled and shook his head, lifting his sandwich to tear into it. He was starving. The minute his mouth was full, Derek took his opportunity to speak.
“Listen. There’s no easy way to bring this up, and I really probably shouldn’t but here’s the thing. I’m driving Aaron back to Quantico. You can argue all you want but I’m not gonna budge so it’d be a lot easier if you didn’t. I need to be with him right now.”
Rossi, chewing, nodded. He didn’t seem all that surprised.
“This week’s been rough for us and we need some time to talk. Or maybe just to be together quietly. He’s hurting, Rossi. And with the whole Kate...New York job...thing...I don’t know but I’m not going home without him.”
“And if I say no? I do still have the keys.”
“I’ll throw down, Rossi.” Derek grinned at that, knowing damn well Rossi was going to hand him the keys to the SUV without any further argument. It wasn’t like Derek couldn’t just get an SUV of his own to drive back in, that wasn’t really the issue. It was a principal thing. “I know you just wanna make sure he’s okay. I know you’re worried about him, I get it. I’ll take good care of him.”
“I know you will.” That was the first really serious thing Rossi had said all morning. He was glad, in some ways, that Derek was so devoted but his reputation worried Rossi. Maybe he wasn’t the dog everyone made him out to be, but Hotch was in no frame of mind to be dealing with personal drama. Between the divorce and now Kate’s death, he’d had enough. It just kept piling up and all Rossi had wanted to do was try to ease it. He wanted to ask questions that would probably come across as insensitive or prying, definitely pressing for information he wasn’t owed but Hotch had become like a son to him. He cared deeply for him in ways he hadn’t for anyone – there was a time he felt more devoted to Hotch than his own wife. (Wives.) And he was usually welcome in with open arms, this was jarring being pushed to the outside. Not being given an opportunity to help at the hospital and again now, it didn’t sit well.
“Do you remember Adrian Bale?” Derek asked, digging a tomato out of his quiche.
“The bomber who killed 6 Agents and wounded several others, sending Gideon into a tailspin. I recall the case vaguely but I know I checked in on Gideon several times during his leave. I was on a book tour at the time.”
Derek nodded. “Yeah. Well, Hotch was one of the wounded. I sat with him in a hospital room for three days while he battled his injuries. Three days I listened to him cough his lungs up, cleaned up blood, helped him eat and go to the bathroom. Three days. I should have been there when it happened but I was too busy licking my own wounds after a fight with he and Gideon about where I was needed. I thought I should be on the front line, they didn’t think so, I got pissed at them treating me like an outsider. That’s not what they were doing, I know that, but it pissed me off anyway. And I let that anger keep me away when they needed me. Last night was like a repeat. Only this time it feels worse because that first time I wasn’t really mad at him but this time I was. I almost lost something last night and I’m not gonna...not again. Not without a fight.”
Rossi nodded but said nothing, just regarded Derek with a seriousness he didn’t often employ. The restaurant shrank around them, suddenly cramped and tight, and Derek found it hard to breathe. He hadn’t even really said the words, probably didn’t need to at this point. If Rossi wasn’t picking up on it, he might need to look for a new job. He thought Rossi understood completely though, and instead just didn’t like it.
“You’re either not surprised or you don’t wanna invest much in it because you think it won’t last. Which is it?”
“Both, maybe,” Rossi admitted, pulling a piece of ham from his sandwich and eating it. “It’s not that I don’t think you’re good for him, but he’s...his marriage ending is probably not the best time for him to jump into something new, especially not something committed. Measure your expectations.”
“You callin’ me a rebound?”
“I guess in a matter of speaking. Maybe that’s not exactly what I’d call it...but close enough. They were married a long time.”
“No, they were together a long time. They actually weren’t married that long. They got married right after I came to the BAU.”
“Are we arguing semantics now? They had been together since high school, in whatever capacity you’d like to imagine. You don’t just get over that and jump into another healthy relationship right away. There has to be a grace period. A rebound, if you like.”
“Damn Rossi. That’s a little cold don’t you think?”
“Am I wrong?”
Derek considered what Rossi was saying while he sipped the too hot coffee. It burned his tongue. “I don’t know. I think you might be. I know how I feel, and I know how I’ve felt for a very long time. It’s not like this just came on out of nowhere for either of us. It’s been a long time coming. I guess I thought I knew how he felt...before Kate, anyway. Now I’m not as sure.”
“What makes you say that?”
“You saw the way he was with her. I know she dated Sean but it doesn’t take a genius to see the way he looked at her. And her resemblance to Haley was uncanny.”
“I suppose.”
“You suppose?! They’re practically twins.”
“Because they’re both blonde? That’s hardly fair. You’re jealous.”
“Damn right I am. Wouldn’t you be?”
“With anyone else, maybe. But you know Hotch better than that. That man was made to be married. If he’s with you, he’s with you. He’s not looking at anyone else. You should have seen all the LEOs and lawyers and other Agents who chased his tail, slipped him phone numbers for years and he was either completely oblivious or if he picked up on it he shut it down right away. You don’t trust that, you should probably cut your losses now and move on.”
“Yeah. I know. It’s just that I know how he still feels about Haley, how he’ll probably always feel about her and I saw this chick walking around like hot shit with him following behind her looking like a lovesick puppy…”
“Did you ever stop to consider that his motivation was deeply rooted in the fear of you leaving, not attraction to her? And that perhaps her intense interest in him had more to do with trusting him to save her job than it did with sexual attraction? I think your insecurity is leading you down a dangerous path.”
“Damn Rossi. You’re not pulling punches today. How’d you even know about that anyway?” He remembered talking to Rossi in the bar, and he never questioned Rossi’s knowledge then. He’d been too distracted to wonder, to puzzle that out. And the hospital had been the wrong time to bring any of it up. He couldn’t get that look of betrayal on Spencer’s face out of his mind. But now he wanted to know. There shouldn’t have been anyone outside of he and Hotch and Kate who knew and he thought they were going to keep it that way. At least until the case was finished.
“People talk, Derek. And I listen.”
What he meant was he had eyes and ears everywhere. He was connected. He probably knew before Hotch or Derek did. He’d probably been hearing whispers for months, judging by the cocky look on his face.
“It would be a terrible thing, you leaving the BAU. You would hate it up here. A desk job, suit and tie, dealing with all of that red tape. It’s not you Derek.”
“I’m not even tempted. I don’t want to leave the BAU. Only reason I considered it the other night was anger.”
“You tell him that?”
“I plan to...if you ever give me the damn car keys.”
Rossi finally handed them over and paid the tab before telling Derek he should get going. “Hotch will be checking out anytime now. You’ll want to catch him before he decides to take matters into his own hands or you’ll be chasing his tail lights down the interstate. You know how he is.” What Rossi imagined wasn’t Hotch in a car so much as Hotch on foot, wandering along the side of the road in some desolate Stephen King torturous walk, his feet bleeding inside of his shoes and him content to continue just so that he didn’t have to slide into the seat of an SUV.
“Shit.”
Outside the FBI Office, Hotch was talking with someone Derek didn’t recognize. He held himself stiff and tall, Derek could tell his back hurt but he looked shockingly put together and cleaned up. Upon closer inspection, he could still see a smear of blood behind Hotch’s ear and another at the nape of his neck. Clearly he hadn’t showered, just gave himself a wipe down – he probably didn’t get up in time, or maybe he couldn’t manage it. Derek really had no idea.
The sight of Derek approaching was startling to him, Derek could see it on his face. “Derek. What are you doing here?”
“I know you got my note. That kid at the front desk said he’d give it to you.”
“He did.”
“And you just decided to ignore it?”
Hotch’s features melted into a slow, cautious smile. “I knew you’d find me regardless. You always do.”
Derek rolled his eyes and leaned forward to grab Hotch’s go bag before he could. It was easy, he wasn’t exactly moving quickly. Bending at the hips looked painful. “I’m driving you home. Don’t bother acting surprised.”
“I had assumed Rossi might get to it first. He sent me a cryptic message this morning alluding to a road trip.”
“He did but I fought him for the honor. Won fair and square.” Sort of. Maybe he fought a little dirty. Maybe he said some things he wished he hadn’t. Given too much up.
“You told him about us, didn’t you?”
“Had no choice if I wanted to win.”
Hotch nodded and set out to walk toward the car. He moved slowly and Derek knew he wasn’t wrong about that stiffness, his back was messed up. He didn’t seem to move his neck either, instead he shifted his entire body in the direction he wanted to look.
“You’re lookin pretty rough today.”
“Feeling it.”
At least he admitted it, that was a step in the right direction. “Yeah. Me too.” Derek stopped at the SUV and hit the unlock button on the fob, keeping Hotch in his peripheral vision. He didn’t exactly flinch but he did stiffen up some, and his thumb started working a little faster over his nail bed as he looked around. PTSD. Maybe not alarming, not yet, but small signs. Derek didn’t miss them.
“We’re having breakfast with Sean.”
“I know. He sent me a text this morning.”
“Damn. Is there anything I can tell you that you don’t already know?”
Hotch reached for the door but Derek got there first, clicking it open and putting his body between Hotch and the car. Hotch smiled at the gesture. “You could tell me that you love me.”
That wasn’t what Derek expected. Not after his talk with Rossi, not after everything they’d been through with Kate. “If I did that...would you say it back?”
“You’re going to have to try it and see.” Something about him looked so serious, Derek couldn’t resist. He didn’t think Hotch had ever looked like he needed anything more in his life than to hear that Derek loved him right this minute, and how could he deny him that?
“I do. Dammit, I do. I love you Aaron.”
Hotch smiled and leaned forward, his body awkward and screaming in pain, every movement of his aching joints driving him mad but he kissed Derek once softly and then again a little harder. Slowly he raised one hand and cupped the back of his neck, holding him in place. “I love you too. Please don’t leave.”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
Hotch smiled into another kiss. “Good.”
He was broken, his head was pounding mercilessly, his ear was ringing so loud and the sound of the city wasn’t helping any of it but for the moment, just this one moment, he wasn’t thinking about any of that. He was only thinking about the way Derek smelled, and being able to sit beside him for hours alone. They were never alone. It felt like a luxury and he could only wish that he felt better, that he felt halfway decent so he could enjoy it. This was probably the best he would feel all day and it wasn’t good, not even a little, and it was bound to get worse. He could already feel his head swimming and filling with that cottony otherworldly confusion that comes hand in hand with a concussion. The coffee and advil he’d pumped into his system had given a valiant effort at staving off the symptoms but it was a temporary solution to a much more resilient problem. There was no wishing this away, he would have to walk head first into the pain and hope he came out the other side in better shape.
“Your brother’s a wreck,” Derek whispered against Hotch’s warm lips and Hotch nodded. His brother was always a wreck. “I think maybe we all are.”
“Probably right.”
“Let’s go get some food. It’s as good a place to start as any.”
“Somewhere quiet, please.” It was the simplest request he could make. What he really wanted was somewhere to lay his head down, it was already feeling about twice as heavy as it should on his neck. The look in Derek’s eye said he had plans for them today, plans that probably involved talking and hashing things out, but the reality was grim. He needed to sleep.
Derek pressed his hand to the side of Hotch’s head, thumb caressing the cup of Hotch’s injured ear. To his surprise, Hotch didn’t flinch away from the touch. “Somewhere quiet. You got it.” He paused, smiling, and just for the hell of it spoke again. “I love you.”
“I know.”
“Dammit Hotch. You’re such an asshole.”
“I know that too.”
“I’d punch you in the mouth if I thought it would change anything…”
“Kiss me instead.”
Derek didn’t need to be told twice.

Alicia gets a text
TWs in the tags
Masterlist
I was forced to leave by something out of my control and I'm trying to get back to you. I love you and miss you, and if I can't answer texts for a while it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with me being in a bad situation
It doesn't make any more sense the fifth time Alicia reads it, and her frantic texts in response have remained unread. What could this possibly mean?? What's happening to Tracy??
Alicia can't get her breathing under control. Tracy was forced to leave. She's in a bad situation. What could possibly force Tracy to leave? Tracy is the toughest, bravest, smartest person Alicia knows. Anything that could force her to leave is really, really bad!
Her eyes blur with tears and her whole body shakes. What if Tracy is dead? What if she's been kidnapped?? What if she– she–
Alicia can't even think of anything else that could've happened. She can think of quite a few things that would make Tracy feel the need to run, but she's never run without Alicia before. She would've come and got Alicia if it was something she had any control over at all. She was forced to leave.
If she's dead, she couldn't have sent the message. Alicia holds onto that sliver of hope, but it falls away as she realizes someone else could've sent the text.
Maybe someone's just pranking her? It would be a horribly mean prank, but much better than any of the alternatives. Still… Tracy is really careful with her phone. She has to use her fingerprint and a 12 digit code that she changes every month to get into it. If someone else did send the message, something still would've had to go very, very wrong. There's no reason for this text to be sent that doesn't also mean Tracy is in danger.
Alicia feels like she's going to throw up. She tries to slip out of class unnoticed, but her teacher spots her right away.
"Alicia, are you okay?"
“I’m just going to the bathroom.” She leaves before her teacher can respond and leans against a wall to steady herself.
She’s so, so scared, and usually when she’s scared she can call Tracy but being unable to call Tracy is the reason she’s scared! She has no idea what to do. She stumbles to the nearest bathroom and vomits into a toilet, then rests her head against the cool porcelain. She sobs and sobs.
If Tracy is dead— if Tracy is dead—
She can’t even finish the thought. This can’t be happening! She needs Tracy!
Eventually, someone pulls her to her feet and guides her to the nurse's office. She doesn't pay much attention to who. It doesn't matter, nothing matters except that Tracy is gone.
The nurse asks her questions like "what's wrong?" and "should I call your parents?" but Alicia doesn't answer. Sobs are painfully wrenched from her chest whenever she so much as starts to figure out what to say. She throws up a few more times before her foster parents show up.
Her foster parents, Mark and Dave, also try to ask her questions, but theirs are easier to answer. They ask her if she's in pain, if something happened, if she knows where she is, and if she thinks this is a panic attack. All she has to do is nod.
"Okay, okay. It doesn't sound like we need to go to the hospital, does that sound right?"
Alicia nods.
"Do you want to go home?"
She doesn't know. She doesn't really want anything right now, except for Tracy.
"Let's go home and watch a movie or something. Does that sound okay?"
That's a better question. She nods and lets her foster parents lead her out of the school and into their car.
Mark tries to guide her through breathing and grounding exercises on the ride home, and they do help, but every time Alicia starts to feel herself calm down a bit she panics all over again. If her breakdown is over, she'll have to tell her foster parents why she's upset, and it'll be real.
She sobs until her head pounds and her throat hurts, and eventually she has nothing left to cry. She feels numb and floaty as her foster parents guide her into the house and onto the couch.
"Can you tell us what's wrong now?" Mark asks. "You've had your cry, now it's time to try and solve whatever the problem is."
Alicia manages to open her phone and show them the texts.
Dave's brow furrows. "Has she ever done anything like this before?"
Alicia shakes her head. "She always takes me with her. She never leaves me like this."
"Hope she didn't kill someone…" Mark mutters, probably assuming Alicia wouldn't hear.
"If she had to leave because she killed someone she'd take me with her!!! I can't think of any reason why she'd do this, something is wrong!" She chokes. She shouldn't be screaming at them, they'll hate her. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you."
"Don't worry about it. Should we report her as missing?" Dave asks.
"Might as well try. I have her address somewhere, maybe we can ask her roommates what happened…" Mark takes out his phone and starts searching for the address. "It'll be okay. We'll figure this out. It's not the end of the world. Breathe."
Dave nods. "It'll be okay." He repeats. "I'll contact the police about a missing person report." He steps out of the room to make a phone call.
Alicia feels like she's dying. If something happened to Tracy… if something happened to Tracy…
Alicia can't live without her. She just can't.

Haven re-watch - Season two finale
Vince’s rabbit-in-the-headlights expression when Audrey knocks the coffee cup out of Dave’s hand is absolutely priceless
But then at the end of that scene, that hint of viciousness that comes out when he tells Dave, “You’re not getting in my way this time.” It’s almost like that moment he has with Max in the season one finale. I really want the Teagues whole entire back story.
Nathan is so adorable with his “Are we talking dinner or b-breakfast?” But I do wonder if this is the first conversation he’s had with Audrey since she met Lucy. Because if so I’d suggest first asking her how that went might have been a better plan.
It’s great to see Duke getting angry with Simon. “You’re much smarter dead and imaginary” XD Eric does a great job in this episode.
In fact everyone does a great job in this episode and it’s full of great lines too. “Zombies are trendy.” XD
Nathan’s “You can never trust Duke,” speech is such a Moment and it’s well done but it opens up so many questions - not least what Duke’s side of the story is. But also, why is Nathan telling her this, at this particular point in time, in the middle of an investigation, in a graveyard?
“Waste of a good cooler.” XD
And I do love Nathan’s way with words. “Well then, you wasted your time.” It’s such a great way to say “Yes I love her” without actually saying it. Like his “You’re not just my partner any more,” to Audrey. Or his “I called my father The Chief,” to the Rev. in other episodes. These things which make a very clear statement by actually saying something different. Very nice writing and I love the way Lucas brings it to life.
“People followed me when I was alive. Think what they’ll do now.” Excellent menacing from the Rev.
And then the scene with Kyle in the woods; Duke stood between the Rev and Simon; a devil on either shoulder trying to talk him into what they want from him.
And then Simon and Garland in the last moments before they disappear. “I know you helped her kill me.” / “Nah, she just beat me to it.” And then also Garland’s “I’ve got a son too, a damn good one.” aaahhhhh! And his “Take care of our girl.”
I love the aspect of some of these older characters. A detective, a reverend and a newspaperman, all pillars of the community and all approaching retirement age (at least); the type of characters we would often see as benevolent and harmless. And yet here they show us this undercurrent of viciousness, of being willing to kill (or at least get others to) if they need to. It’s a nice layer that adds to the overall story I think.
I would love to ask Vince what he when he says to Dave, “She’s different this time.” He’s talking about Audrey but …. Different how, exactly?
When Nathan accuses Duke of having kidnapped Audrey, Duke is concerned about Audrey and upset Nathan would think he had anything to do with it, but I think he’s also offended Nathan would believe him that incompetent as to have left his necklace there as evidence and not planned ahead to deal with Nathan. All of which completely valid from Duke imo.
And then the cliffhanger of that gun shot!!! da da daaaaa……..

Its sooo upsetting that jade never got her happy ending, she never got her chance to heal. Not where we could see, anyway.
Disregarding the game over timeline, disregarding 3 years of her being in a ship with John and Davesprite and Nana and Jasper— disregarding that and moving to the ending timeline, the one that made it to the end, Jade Harley starts the game, because it’ll make her friends happy. Jade wasn’t going to play SBURB. It wasn’t something she had set her mind to. She wanted her friends to play, because Rose would see her dead cat which she loved, John would have fun, and Dave… well, he’d be with John and Rose. She didn’t really get all that much information from the clouds of Skaia.
She starts being bullied by the trolls much earlier than the other kids, and Karkat is much more ruthless. He’s mean. She plays the game, and she’s excited to see her brother wake up, and then she dies before she sees that happen. And she wakes up with the worst migraine of her life, and Feferi terrifies her, and everything’s happening all at once and she’s being blamed for a thousand things she simply didn’t have a say in. And her grandpas dead, her dog is gone, and she has doomed her friends.
She tells Rose her mom is dead. Would she blame herself for her turning grimdark? For being the reason her friend found her cat, but lost her mom?
She meets Dave— the first person she sees since she was small, and she kills him. And her dog, a part of him anyway, makes her do it. And this is after she learns that she is the reason her grandpa is dead, too. She killed him.
I know Jade doesn’t need a weapon because of how powerful she is. But I think, also, she wouldn’t have wanted to use her gun again.
Then she’s almost at her happy ending and her brother and her best friend (another version of him, but Dave nonetheless) die while on her watch. And for three years she blames herself. 3 years that she spends alone, again, in an isolation she thinks was created by herself. Again.
Then she gets to see people again, and she’s mind controles to hurt those people, and then she falls asleep and when she wakes up she is incredibly uselessly alone and there’s just a letter and another mission. And she goes to that mission, and she has to see her dog again, the reason she killed Dave, the guy who Doomed her timeline, who took her guardian away, who took Rose’s and Dave’s and John’s guardians away, her dog. There’s a nostalgia and an request from deep within her for some sort of reminder that her dog exists, or existed, within these creatures, a request to play again. And one of them hits her, and she falls, and she’s knocked out again.
Then… she gets a hug? She sees her brother again? What’s that matter with no dialogue? There is no real heaviness to her reunion as there was with Dave and dirk, or rose and Roxy, or John and Jane and Jake (and arguably, those three weren’t as heavy or as emotional or as meaningful as the strilondes). But Jade gets nothing. Nada.
She begins as a character foil, as the key, and ends as the character foil, discarded.
#jade Harley#I have a lot of emotions abt jade and how she’s handled throughout homestuck#we only ever see her at her worst and her best only lasts a few moments#we never see her reaction to killing Dave besides karkat’s mention of it#she is so sidelined it hurts#homestuck#mine#they speak

Humans | Lowblood Trolls | Midblood Trolls | Highblood Trolls | Cherubs | Carapacians
Happy belated 4/13 everybody!
So it’s clearly no secret that Homestuck and Pokemon are two of my favorite fandoms. This of course means I had to combine them somehow, and the best way to do that was to turn the Homestuck kids into Pokemon trainers, right?
Originally, I was gonna go the lazy route and do the Pokemon Team Planner to make up their (and the Trolls’ and Cherubs’) teams, and I’m still going to do that later, but the problem is I can’t do that until the Gen 9 dex is added to Pokemon HOME.
So instead, I just drew the Beta and Alpha Kids with what I personally think their signature Pokemon would be!
For an explanation:
John Egbert: John’s ace is Quagsire, also known as Casey! This should have obvious reasons behind it lol. He also has a Mimikyu, to represent the stuffed bunny from Con Air. I like to think John found that Mimikyu and mistook it for a ratty old Pikachu doll, only for Rose to reveal to him what it really is like a week or so later.
Rose Lalonde: Rose of course needed a Psychic-type cat and I could think of no better Pokemon to fit that description than Meowstic (Espeon could also count, but we don’t know for sure if it’s really a cat). Since the cat is obviously supposed to be Jaspers, I used the male Meowstic. He communicates with Rose telepathically sometimes, and once shared a secret with her that she never decoded until years later.
Dave Strider: Now many of you probably expected him to have Corviknight, and I’m sure he has one on his team, but I think Archeops works better as his ace, and no not just because it’s my personal favorite Pokemon. Archeops not only works for Dave’s bird motif, but it also fits with his love of preserved dead things and paleontology. He probably got it as a Plume Fossil that he added to his collection and then Jade was like “You should try getting it revived” and Dave was like “You can revive them!?!?”
Jade Harley: Jade was actually surprisingly tough to pick a Pokemon for, since there are so many dog Pokemon out there who could play Becquerel’s part. I decided on Houndstone -- it’s “the most loyal of dog Pokemon” for starters, it’s white and it has access to Phantom Force so it can teleport. Also it has no eyes. Like in canon, Bec used to belong to Jade’s Grandpa, but in this AU, I like to think Bec is the ghost of Halley, Grandpa Harley’s old dog.
Jane Crocker: Jane was trickier, as she doesn’t technically have an animal motif like the others, but I ultimately decided on Stoutland, because it both fits with her love of detectives and has an absolutely fantastic mustache! Of course Jane would like this one XD Being the most normal of the Alphas, Jane most likely got Stoutland as a gift from her Dad.
Roxy Lalonde: Roxy ran into the same problem as Jade in that there were so many cat Pokemon to choose from. Ultimately, I went with Sneasler (and yes, Sneasler is a cat) because it fits with Roxy’s Fistkind strife specibus and honestly I just like the vibes these two have together. Two sassy queens XD If you’re wondering how Roxy got a Hisuian Sneasel, I like to think she appearified her by accident and decided to keep her. Also they’re both trans. Deal with it.
Dirk Strider: Dirk got Ceruledge because it’s one of the few Pokemon that’s explicitly a swordsman, but more importantly, it also very clearly looks like Derse. I imagine that Dirk’s Bro left him a Charcadet with the appropriate armor to evolve it into a Ceruledge, and the two often spar with each other.
Jake English: Contrasting with Dirk, Jake gets an Armarouge. Whereas Dirk has a sword-wielding Pokemon resembling Derse, Jake gets a cannon-wielding Pokemon resembling Prospit! It fit so perfectly, honestly. I think that Jake would’ve found his Charcadet while exploring his island and eventually dug up some armor for it in an ancient ruin of some sort.
I would’ve done the Trolls, Cherubs and maybe even some of the Carapacians too, but this was exhausting enough to work on so maybe later. I still definitely wanna do those Team Planner things though, so I’ll try to get around to that when the site makes the right updates!
EDIT: Fixed a portion of Jane’s Stoutland that I forgot to color.

the creeping shadow first read
books 1&2, book 3
one day i will have a solid grasp on what to name these... not this day (this was my first book of 2024 i was reading it during Jooles Hootenany and was like two chapters? away from the end? i have no idea wish i made a note oh well)
this book is an ex library from somewhere called Snodland. SNODLAND. i just want to laugh.
5 Emma Marchment ghost hunting with mirrors which is actually really fun
13 Wan Tina, Medicore Ted and Jumpy Dave. Hello [temporary] team mates 14 "concerned about supervisors that they never acted like proper teams" it must be very hard to rely on people to keep you alive but you also have to rely on adults most of the time (what happened with Lucy in her home town being an extreme case of the unique hardships that brings)
21 "hey there's nothing disgusting about random body parts" lmao skull
33 Dave is the only one who has rights. (and he and Lucy being little shits is so funny)
39 the skull had a point about the flower pot
43 "the slim and elegant figure of Holly Munro standing picturesquely beside him [Lockwood]" detect a little jealous and bit of yearning for Lockwood
49 "[Lockwood] and that girl were still on a high when they came in. Quite exhilarated. Laughing and giggling together." a little hurt and jealousy electric boogaloo
53 Skull and Lucy in a flatshare situation (i need Lockwood's pov)
58 the skull feels bad for Lucy
60 the shock of seeing Lockwood at her door is great. His smile "it was warm but somewhat hesitant, as if it hadn't been recently used. It was the smile I'd hazily imagined a hundred times; only now it was real, solid, meant just for me" this entire bit so much is said but not outright you know?
her spiel about his chosen tie and her own thoughts about her reaction also the laundry bag and Lockwood holding it is so i would rather die (hilarious to think about this scene happening in the show just in general but imagine if we got this scene AND they kept the towel scene in the show)
66 "Making tea is a ritual that stops the world from falling in on you" I just like all the quotes about tea
70 first off I want to know what was said when Lockwood "growing angry with me at last" and just laugh at Lucy imagining him going down on bended knee asking her to return to the company
82 "what could it be?... not a date surely?- the boy's got eyes" the skull my love
92 this is awkward
96 just the entire bit about crackers is so funny
100 Penelope is a locklyle shipper so one of us (also this would be so great in the show as it would be following the "you feel safe with him"
103 "I didn't feel bad about the fib though. I'd been lied to as well"
104 the Rotwell mascot is called Roger? also the posters are great
108 the heck? the mummified head Lucy finds at the start of the book is not destroyed?
111 I love this chat with Holly but what was she going to ask "I was going to ask you about -whether you found- oh good, and here are the boys too" like come on what was it?
121 KIPPS!
146 talking about the skull is so funny
152 snapshots of the past
157 compliments "I couldn't help smiling back at him. Compliments from Lockwood were always nice to hear"
163 creepy "the sound of teeth clacking together" this is horrible
173 Locklyle "thank goodness for you Lucy... I can always rely on you"
176 Lockwoood is more reckless and George upset about it and Lucy
182 Uh oh spaghettios Lucy's flat has been broken into
188 Harold might have done it?
195 love this bit "strange how close the darkness is, even when things seem brightest. Even in the glare of a summer noon, when the pavement bakes and the iron fences are hot to the touch, the shadows are still with us"
203 Harold is dead gods
215 Lockwood seeing Lucy appear at her doorstep is also something i want to see his pov on
221 talking about Holly staying over and Lucy feeling a little hurt by it
234 lmao Lockwood and George's superior nursing skills. and the second client of the day.
241 "creeping shadow" roll credits
248 nice relaxing moment in the garden
261 i love the spirit capes 269 I love disguises
281 the skull is so funny
283 "I've missed you so much Lucy" Lockwood said that and I yell and rereading it now my only though is he blurted that out and barreled on not letting Lucy respond (she wanted to)
290 Mr Johnson? hello 292 Hi Adelaide (i really like that name)
301 capes and Lockwood putting one on Lucy first.
315 Information on Rotwell
323 "there is a battle to be won - not simply against ghost, but against death itself" hm interesting
331 Castle! can't wait
342 punch the boy also considered by Lockwood
354 At last the goggles are being used
363 should have locked Reverend Skinner in his rooms
370 aw Lucy just happy to be with Lockwood
379 Rotwell is an ass
389 poor lady and this would be horrifying to see on screen
395 hi buddy 397 them holding hands is so cute
(the Iron Chain) 407 technically you guys walked into the Black Library at Fittes.
414 helpful Lockwood "the hole's between those two black posts"
417 "it was the desisive action. once through, we could never take it back." uh oh
426 Lockwood's orders is great 435 oh my god 437 holy shit
442 the skull remains a little shit 446 guys that was a little close
450 good job ghosts avoiding Guppy and just the Locklyle of it all
459 I am nervous
464 oh god Lucy 469 SKULL! "his grin, which gleamed sardonically even in the swirling dusk and was somehow most familiar"
474 GO ON GEORGE "he's like a whirling dervish" 477 HUGS between Lucy and Holly
481 saving Kipps and the imagery is cool
484 kick Rotwell's ass!
(practically thinking how they would adapt this scene in the show this has a lot of working parts more than the Winkman fight because there is more people, practical affects, special affects and having it in a probable 8 episode season would not do it justice)
489 lmao Lucy and Lockwood deciding to give Georgie the last biscuit/ barrel
499 Lucy understands now
501 thanks Mr Skinner 504 Barnes asking them to be safe aw
511 intense eye contact
518 Sir Rupert and Penelope is in their kitchen
520 Yikes 528 the skulls parting words had a "I beg your pardon" from me.
#lockwood and co#lockwood & co#lucy carlyle#anthony lockwood#george cubbins#holly munro#quill kipps#locklyle#sorry to keep bringing up the show I think it worked well as a adaptation and I want to see these scenes with Cam and Ruby and the others#and I am sad i missed some interviews with Joe Cornish and Mr Stroud in the past#ellie reads

S17 Ep5 post-watch recap
I have way too many thoughts, this is going to be long and probably disjointed.
So I feel like a lot happened, but at the same time not really? Overall though, so far I'm really here for this Gold Star mystery and the MK Ultra/behavior modification/Frankenstein's monster stuff around it, I just hope they commit to it? I know so far they've made it a point multiple times how it's a "conspiracy theory" and it's "based on a half-truth" and so on but at the same time things just don't add up? Most notably, if the government has nothing to do with this, why would they care enough to hide it? Who has enough influence to stage Emily's arrest etc?
Anyway, since this was very complex I'll try to break it down to characters.
Damien/Jade
Honestly? I'm really enjoying them so far? They have a fun dynamic?Wish I knew their actual ages, maybe it was shown and I just didn't pay attention. I think Aiden was around 26? So I'm assuming they are around the same , give or take 2-3 years. So these 2 meet up, 1 is dead ("assassinated by the FBI", which is an interesting way to phrase it. I wonder if that will come back on either Rossi or Emily. One giving the order, the other following it.) And Peter and Dana are 'missing', and we have no idea what they look like. Okay, cool.
So they are tech savy enough to operate Voit's network (wasn't that used to be a weather app lol? That whole comment on people posting their racist opinions on that neighbor app, which was featured in ep 3 too, seems like a reference that my not-american brain is not clicking with) and they can put together bombs. It was weird that nobody picked up on the fact that Jade has to be in the park to make that call? Why was everyone just standing in a circle and worrying when they could have sent people to scour the area lol All the while ignoring Voit who was at least smart enough to not run.
Voit
So Voit. This little shit. Every scene he was in I just kept repeating 'you little shit'. Very entertaining bordering on frustrating. His whole demeanor of being like a kid in candy store was funny I'll admit that. That first scene with him going "Dave Dave Dave" took me out. My dude is def dying by the end of the season tho. They can't keep him around for much longer. And I honestly can't tell if him doing morse code was meant to be noticed by the team or not. Because I'm thinking that he is in fact making up the identity of "North Star" and trying to get someone killed? Also, that reveal that he gave the identity of the strike team to Damien? Chef's kiss. He's truly Hannibal Lectering this season. Aaand he has a point with Garcia and Tyler and that whole fiasco last season. I'm glad they are bringing that up because that should have some kind of consequence. (Voit giving them a ship name tho? And talking about carbon footprints? I'm not sure I like him sounding like stan twitter. I mean it's obviously a reference for the fandom to get, but still. It's...a writing choice for sure.)
Garcia/Tyler/Luke
I'm lumping them together because the show is apparently committing to the love triangle bit. Which I'm not that big of a fan of, in general.
This might be an unpopular opinion but the more episodes we have the more I feel like the show doesn't really know what to do with Garcia this season? Like that entire exchange in her office, that ends up with them being back in the bullpen? It was...weird? So Voit smells, okay, cool, did we need to spend this much time on this? It honestly felt like a waste of time that didn't lead anywhere because we are back at the bullpen anyway? Like, narratively, what was the point here?
Luke is still not checking on JJ after throwing a bomb on her, cool lol. Love that he was the one deciphering the morse code tho, and that he dismantled the bomb. Love it when the show remembers character traits.
Tyler remains another frustrating part of this season for me? Everytime he does something where I go "hey cool, that's nice, I kinda like you" he immediately does something else where I go "okay, go fuck yourself now". Like, doing off-the-books work for Emily? Great, cool, love it. And then goes behind her back like it's nothing. So 'Teresa' might be an actual person, but the phrase could also be relevant? Maybe it's another anagram, idk. Either way he's warning someone while keeping Emily in the dark. In conclusion, I don't trust him lol.
Emily
So the framed arrest/mugshots are coming into play, that's great, I'm glad there was a point to that. (Weird choice to drop the name of an actual existing website as the leak but okay). Someone is really out to get her that is connected to this whole ordeal but there's no indication it's either Damian or Jade. Someone also convinced Brian to change face. Also, was he trying to gaslight her? Is that going to be a part of Emily's "breakdown arc" that she is questioning her own sanity? That could be interesting. Or, we are going full scifi and they made him somehow forget his previous alignments. Seems unlikely, but who knows. Anyway, she is on restricted duty and is clearly over it. Just, everything. Great scene by the end. She was going to back to her "spy roots" and moral grayness and it's slowly breaking her. Genuinely think she is one of the most complex characters of this entire show. (Shout out to her speaking Russian too. I know it's just a phrase but it's a nice callback.) Love her bond with Rossi as well. And just all her scenes, great. If there's a character I'm really happy with this season, it's Emily.
Rossi
Honestly not that much to talk about? For the audience this is not the first time he interacts with Voit, but great scenes. He is also losing it, clearly. Maybe I expected a bit more? Confusion, at least? As in, having a hard time differentiating with the real Voit and his halluciVoit?
JJ
I'm biting my fist every time JJ is on screen because I'm just so nervous how that is going to end. She is clearly not okay, everyone is dealing with something and not taking notice of her issues. Loved to see her in charge on the field. She was also the only one competent enough to finally tell someone to shoot the wheels, lmao.
Tara
Tara wasn't given a lot this episode tbh. She was aiding Luke, sure, but this may have been her least active episode. So we have the scene with Rebecca losing her shit, that she's in danger, okay. I mean, they are cute? Wish they would talk more instead, but cute scene at the end, none the less.
I have absolutely no idea where the next episode is going lol. I expected a cliffhanger, we didn't get a cliffhanger. Zero clue as to what comes next.

So, this is something my sibling and I came up with a while ago but after seeing a homestuck tma crossover i thought maybe others would be interested in seeing our thoughts? I was thinking of running an rpgstuck game that has Magnus archives fears baked in. So my sib and I decided to connect each aspect to a fear. It’s not perfect, especially because there’s 15 fears and 12 aspects but I think what we came up with makes enough sense. Here we go!
Space=Spiral: I feel like this one is pretty obvious. The spiral often manifests as physically changing the environment you’re in, from teleporting you to strange never ending corridors to fractals and impossible structures. And space is the building block of the universe. I can’t remember how much of Jades powers were from her being witch of space and how much were from the green sun, but I believe her spatial manipulation is from the space part. Which is very spiral of her. Oh, and I had a land name that I thought sounded pretty fun for this: Land of Mazes and Marble
Time=End/Hunt: this one was harder to pin down. I don’t really know why I associate the hunt with time so much. It just fits the vibe for me I guess and maybe I just like the idea of a time manipulating hunter going after you. There’s also the fact that time is constantly after you and there is no escaping it. The end probably makes more sense given that all known time players from the comic have connections with death: Dave collected dead things in jars and constantly dealt with dead Daves, Aradia was a ghost in the beginning and also liked archeology, Caliborn has a skull head, and Damara basically serves Caliborn. Hm, now that I look at some of my old notes, perhaps the corruption also fits time. It’s about rot and decay, infestations, and definitely brings to mind corpses, if only ones specifically infested. Or maybe the extinction for the heat death of the universe is inevitable and coming for us all. Eventually everything we know will crumble into dust. Man time is a hard one.
Light=Beholding: I think this one is also fairly obvious. Though light isn’t directly equated with knowledge all of the light players we see are very knowledgeable, and guide the others with their knowledge. Well, maybe not so much Vriska and Aranea is probably more of a glorified gossip, but Rose guides! Jokes aside, there is a pretty big association between light and knowledge at the very least. Also, light is implied to be something that draws attention, see when Roxy and Calliope were hanging out but Calliope kicked them out when Rose arrived saying something like “you can’t bring a light player here that’ll broadcast our location to everyone!” So, light brings information into the spotlight. Which is kind of like how the beholding knows all and watches you all the time.
Void=Dark: I don’t really have much to say about this one. Because, again, I feel it’s pretty self explanatory. The voids hides you and is obfuscation and nothingness. And the dark is… dark. In the podcast the dark has a way of blocking out the eye, and Johnny can’t just know about it. Possible land name: Land of Shrouds and Pits.
Life=Flesh: This one is pretty fun. So life is very much associated with healing. And also with taking life in the case of the Condese. And that leads me to thinking about how medical procedures can be kinda horrifying. Like I personally have a fear of syringes and I also get grossed out by the idea of a colonoscopy or Stiches or surgery. And especially with how we lose control of our bodies during these procedures and how we can be objectified by doctors. This is what leads me to really connect life to the flesh. For we all live in a gross meat sack that needs constant upkeep. Uh, that rant went in a different direction than I was expecting but I think it describes my thought process well enough. Land name: Land of Sinew and Viscera. Land of Bones and Mutations.
Doom=The End/Extinction: Doom and Time are very similar. Part of why they’re so hard for me to put a fear to is because I want to neatly pair them all up but it’s so hard to decided which aspect fits better with the end! I was tempted to mark doom as corruption but I don’t think it fits. Doom is about fate, about restrictions. Doom is the futility of your life. The extended zodiac describes them as “fates chosen sufferers” and that doesn’t say corruption to me. Now, end and extinction are like doom and time. They’re very similar and while I understand why they get separated it’s still hard to do it for my brain. For doom, I think extinction works better. Thinking back to doomed sessions, they are kinda apocalyptic in that they cannot go on. And for fate and being a chosen sufferer I think Doom vibes well with the end of the world. There’s also an element of sacrifice to doom. Sollux sacrifices himself to get the meteor to the green sun, Mituna sacrifices his mind for the other trolls. I don’t really know if that fits with the whole extinction thing, I am only about halfway through season 4. Honestly the end probably works well too. Death and sacrifice fits. God it’s getting late this is harder and longer than I thought this would be. Heh heh.
Ok I feel asleep and am gonna continue. No editing I can’t be bothered this is all inane bullshit anyway now where was I?
Heart=Lonely: Ok, so I see heart as the internal conflict aspect. Dirk being… well Dirk is a prime example. His whole story is how he splinters and fucks hi self over and all that jazz. Nepeta has a whole thing about her crush and shipping her fellow players and I think she does get in her own head especially about Karkat a lot. And out of all the conflicts you can have I think internal conflict is the most lonely one. It’s all in your head, and usually someone with lots of internal conflict doesn’t go to a therapist or seek outside help. It’s usually something the character needs to work through themself. Land of Contemplation and Philosophy is the land name I wrote down and I just think that’s funny. So Dirk. Anyway, next!
Blood=Buried: This was another hard one, but I think it fits. Blood is all about bonds between people, and it’s a pretty short leap to thinking of bonds as chains pulling you down. The blood player often acts as a leader, which is another responsibility that weighs people down. And what better fear to bury people under their own responsibility and connections to other people than the buried! I also like the land name I wrote down in my notes: Land of Spelunking and Roots.
Rage=Slaughter: I don’t have much to say about this one. Rage is the most violent of the aspects and has the most chaotic character as one of its players. And I think slaughter is the least selective of the fears. Anyone can face brutal, chaotic violence. No one is safe from it. It’s something that affects wars and crime ridden streets alike. They both have this energy that isn’t directed at something in particular, just at their surroundings wherever they happen to be.
Hope=Desolation: This is an interesting one, because I feel like desolation is more of the opposite to hope. However, hope can be a destructive force in of itself. The loss of hope can be devastating and the things you can do while holding onto hope can be destructive to yourself or to others. Desolation is a fear about loss and destruction. fear of pain and cruelty. And I think that while hope is usually associated with happy thoughts it can hide a darker side.
Breath=Vast: shit I was trying to keep the aspects paired with their opposites. Oh well I can’t be bothered to fix this. Anyway I don’t have that many thoughts about this, breath is freedom and wind and vast is huge empty spaces that freak you out. I think Simon Fairchild with his tendency to throw people into the sky is the best connection I have. It just makes sense to me and I don’t have the words to say why. Next!
Mind=Web: This one i find to be a little ironic. Terezi, who is blind, has the fear with all the spider themes and Vriska, with the spider theme, has the fear with all the eye shit. Anyway, mind is about knowing people. Knowing how they work, what makes them tick. Mind is all about decisions people make and the consequences of that. Terezi, greatest troll don’t @ me, shows this off when almost everyone dies and she has to write out a plan for John to execute to change the past and fix the timeline. Also when she kills Vriska to stop her from going after dog jack and leading him to the other trolls getting them all killed. Mind players are manipulative lil bitches just like web avatars is what I am try to say. (Love them tho) the land name I wrote down was Land of Marionettes and Pointed Smiles.
Whooo and there they all are! If you read all of this nonsense I am sorry. It’s probably incoherent nonsense that you struggled through but I do appreciate it. This was longer than I thought it would be. Also if you disagree that’s fine. This is all subjective and it’s also futile to perfectly separate the fears and probably the aspects as well. While Hussie takes the “they are definitely different” approach and Sims takes the “eh theyre kinda different but also the same” I think it’s pretty interesting to pit these philosophies against each other and see how they compare. Or maybe I just have a problem. That’s more likely.

Echoes of Home: 41 - Steve ("vet")
Echoes of Home: FFXIV AU OC – WoLs on Earth
If I'm not careful, the town's going to be afraid of me. Possibly both of us.
I got started at the diner last night, taking orders, cleaning the counter, when Tsu'na came in. I heard her wheeling out the bucket, then everything got quiet. I looked up and saw her staring at everyone staring at her. Then she just ran out. I've seen her run from things, but only in a practical sense. Never from people staring at her. I mean, maybe no one's ever stared at her like that before, so maybe she's never had reason…
At any rate, it ticked me off. These people looked at her like some sort of sideshow. Of course it was upsetting for her. And that was upsetting for me. I slammed my hand down on the counter before I got ahold of myself. I'm glad I didn't break the counter. I haven't a clue how to make formica.
I hadn't turned the music on, so it was dead silent after that. After I got my breathing steady I said, "Closing early. Five minutes."
"But I just got here!" "I didn't get my order yet!" "Can't I finish eating first?"
"Yeah, well, my wife just ran out of here crying because y'all were creepy at her, so I gotta go home and deal with that. Take it to go!"
No one said anything after that, including me. I couldn't manage "Thank you, come again" even once as I wrapped pretzels and pies in napkins and handed them out.
I didn't think she was actually crying, and perhaps I should have planned with her whether to ever paint that picture in people's heads, but I didn't want those people walking out guilt-free. I think a couple of them wanted to whine something like "What did I do?" But none of them did.
I shut the place down and locked up. When I got to the house, the Hartmans were sort of fussing outside the guest room door. I told them what happened; Mrs. Hartman was sympathetic, while Mr. Hartman just looked grim. I like to think they expected better of their fellow townsfolk.
I went in, joined Tsu'na in bed and held her for a while. I could tell from her breathing that she wasn't asleep, but she wasn't talking either. If being held was what she needed, I was only too happy to provide.
I made omelets in the morning. I kinda expected her to stay home, but she put on the beret and headed out to face the town again. I went to work on the shed. I wanted to tag along with her, but I didn't want to suggest she couldn't handle things on her own.
Got some gawkers at the shed...guessing guys wanting to see the catgirl. They didn't stay long when they saw I was alone. They'd all cleared out by lunchtime when Sam came out with bottles.
"Heard about the diner."
"Yeah."
"She okay?"
"Think so, yeah."
We sat on the bench. We drank. We ruminated.
"Small town, ya know."
"I've really only ever heard stories."
"Don't b'lieve the flyin' saucer ones."
"What about the witchcraft ones?"
"That's more Nebraska."
"Huh."
The air was mostly still. Beginning of September, Summer starting to wind down a little, at least according to the weather channel.
"Mighta found you a wiring guy. Don't know him...Dave says he's good."
"Dave?"
"Works at the post office."
"Can this guy do breaker boxes? Don't want to blow your fuses with a window AC."
"I'll ask."
You see this stuff on TV...couple guys on a bench, drinking, trying to find something to say. Especially when one of them has something to say.
"So...you meet Eddie?"
"Dunno. Which one's he?"
"Wears a cat hat alla time?"
"Cat hat?"
"Yeah, a hat that says CAT on it."
"Oh, like those mini-dozers?"
"Yeah. Anyway, he's a vet."
"Army?"
"No, like an animal doctor. Does stuff fer the ranches."
"Sorry, a vet that wears a cat hat?"
"He thinks he's funny."
"...Sure. What about him?"
"He, uh…" Sam scratched his jaw, let his eyes wander over the yard. "...kinda wants to see yer wife's ears."
"So does half the town, I think."
"Yeah...uh...he doesn't think they're real."
"Whaddaya mean?"
"Somethin' 'bout the ear canals an' stuff."
"And he's saying this without having seen them."
"Yeah, well...he wants to see 'em."
"And by 'see' he means, what? Look at? Touch? Poke around in? What would it take for him to know they're real?"
Sam fidgeted. "Dunno."
"My wife lost her shit when people just stared at her. Why the fuck would I let some animal doctor poke around in her ears?"
"...To see if they're really real?"
"Of course they're real. They're attached to her head. She hears with them. How real do they have to be?"
He was looking increasingly uncomfortable. "Eddie says you can't do that with plastic surgery."
"Well, maybe he can't. That's why no one's gonna pay a fuckton of money to an animal doctor from, no offense, here to give it a try."
"You saw it happen?"
"No, she got the work done before I met her. Why?"
He shrugged and studied his bottle.
"I'm sorry...are you accusing my wife of lying to me?"
He made himself look at me. At the guy who'd said he was ex-military. At the guy who could pick up a man with one hand and throw him through a table. At the guy sitting a couple feet away from him holding a cider bottle.
"S'pose not."
"Is this Eddie going to be a problem?"
He stared at me. "Whaddaya mean?"
I realized as soon as I said it that it sounded like something from every TV show ever about murder and organized crime. I sighed, sagged a little, tried to look more tired and worried than menacing. "I mean, she's had crap in the past, she had crap yesterday, she doesn't need any more. Is this guy gonna be bugging her in the bar or wherever?"
Some tension bled out of Sam too. "I can talk to him."
"Thanks." I pressed my bottle against my forehead. "She told me about how it was. I tried to imagine it, but it's not the same as seeing it happen right in front of me…" I closed my eyes, gave it a beat, and looked at Sam. "If this Eddie has any questions, have him come to me first, okay?"
"Sure."
I nodded. "You're a good friend, Sam." I clinked bottles with him. Like every TV show ever about guy chemistry.
We sat a bit longer, finishing our drinks. Sam got up and stretched. "Better get the bar open."
"In time for happy hour?"
He snorted. "Yeah. All them business guys in suits that swarm the place every day."
He stood there, but didn't quite turn away. He hesitated for a moment, then turned back to me. "Can I ask ya somethin'? Tell me if it ain't my business…"
"What?"
"It's…the way she calls you 'Husband' alla time. Ain't nothin' wrong with it, it's just not somethin' I hear much. Is that one o' those things like…ya know…"
"What?"
"...Master?"
I couldn't help but snicker. "You think she's submissive? Hah! Try possessive. That started happening a little after the wedding. She grabs me, she's got this big grin on her face, and she's like, 'Husband!' I'm like, 'Yes, my love?' 'Husband!' 'Yeah…?' 'Husband!' 'What?' 'You are my husband! Mine and no other's!'
"And since I'd, like, just gotten done promising exactly that in the wedding, I was like, '...Okay.'"
A rather wicked grin appeared on Sam's face. "So, it ain't that she's yours…it's that you're hers?"
"I mean…it's kind of the same thing, right?"
"Keep tellin' yerself that, son." He grew a bit more sober. "You take care o' her."
"That's the plan."
Just an overprotective husband. Not a threat. Just a guy.
Just a guy who doesn't know what the town's saying about his wife.

Our son and daughter are getting along good and I'm dreaming of being together at places to save these people who are bothering him
-there's a couple more things going on and they're here in Charlotte county and these people got reelected and people are going after them for it that started a big fight and they see what Trump is up to with their son and says crap just like he says going to go after him for it being crap
-other things are happening it's not really Tommy f is planning to get our son a vehicle. Although he will be at the scene of the crime will be transferred with different persons. When JC and Mary bought the coach he was reluctant to sell it and didn't want to sell them and others influenced it to happen and he was put out and was a b**** and that guy is an animal too he just sat Dave in the cellar and that's it and treated him like a child. There's more going on but our son told his brother and he said you're holding me here to make me obscure and you're a dead man it's stupid on top of it he got really mad I said I'm out of here and you're f***** and his brother was helping to get a job it was after the fight and he got the job and he got out and it's dangerous but he has to do other stuff this guy is a huge a****** and he held our son in the house and thinks he's going to kidnap him because of it with the same pattern and s*** and it's gone past it and he's going to get his ass kicked now and he will get his ass kicked out of Florida and he can be told to stay out and he's going to take a beating globally and he asked for it in a different way now he's worse than Trump and it's just a snive little s***
---other things happening here Trump got those positions he says is in them let people are pushing him out and publicly the announce the change he got four positions in the Hillsborough county area in government county government and they're just removed so far it's like 10% and Trump got 50% of the positions so he is down to 40% and soon it'll be 30% this this week or lower and it'll be them getting removed it's going to be a huge huge craze cuz I don't do anything and it's gross and ridiculous
---on top of all this John arimaillard is becoming a massive nuisance. He's going into the house so many times that people are just getting angry at him. And it has been voted that he'll be removed. They're trying to get stand to do it and he won't and other people are trying and it's tough if Stan has evicted to come back as another character almost immediately that knows Emily blunts or something it's really awful what he's doing here and he is a despicable character and person who needs to be put down like a rabbit dog and I'm sending orders to get him out it's extremely annoying what he does too and then he gets hit quite a bit because of it and doesn't care so we have to hit him a lot that brings us to the next point
---this area is full of hostile shitheads. They're stupid people. We need to knock them down in order to control them they are unruly and they're doing the wrong thing of course but they think that they're getting powerful right here is what we have to do
---we have a busy day today her son's going to try and go to the powersports event to look at what's going on and look at bikes and he thinks Ken can't make it and he can't and they had a half decent day even though only like three cars showed up it was a good time and Tommy yeah and stuck it out there and he got beat up but there's more to it but it is places to do that is it's a helpful. This is going to be a kickoff this week to a whole bunch of events and it's because of a cataclysm it won't really physically affect that many people and they've seen it before people evacuate and they decontaminate and they hose everything down with salt water and it's all set but really this is going to be different because huge sections of the land are going to disappear and facilitate the clothes in their attempt to dominates the area and it's going to begin in just a few days the terrorism and the attacks are starting today and they will ramp up to probably Tuesday and they will try for the caverns and not just at the tip they have several plans to attack. Globally.
This is a momentous occasion which is going to push a lot of other things more notably the nuclear bunkers of trump these taxes and caches of trump and the attacks of the pseudo empire will elevate to a very high level and we think that bja will get wiped out in several locations and foreigners will take over and wipe Trump out and Max 2 will have their share and us and BJ will have some of his no he'll have his share but it will be more to scale and there's a few other groups during their attacks on we'll see the week after this coming they will figure out what Trump is up to and eliminate him and start wars with the cities right now those cities are embroiled and people go in and taking them down and taking devices and disabling them and it's becoming big as of a day and a half ago with the announcement of multiple ships below things are starting to move
Thor Freya and yes that's why those five cities emptied and it's going to be continuous
Olympus it's a good day at the beginning of a change and we need it bad
Finally we'll see the light a little and we do and my husband says it might be a schedule but the schedule might be formed because of the palmoline that's evil people are taking they get hit and things change and everybody's going to look at it

Twisted truth pt 20, 21, & 22, by @magmacartoons
Warnings: Blood, fighting and foul language
Meanwhile, back at the pizzeria, Afton was still working on the machine
“Where the hell is Vanny and the other guards? They should have wiped T Freddy’s memory by now.” He wondered
“Try contacting her again.”
“Mrs. Vanessa, please come in.” Victor said into the walkie-talkie, but all it was was just static
“Mrs. Vanessa, are you there? Can anyone hear me?” He continued
“Argh! Give me that. Vanny, come in. This is Mr. Dave. Where are you?” He asked, but unfortunately it was still the same
“Vanny, come in!” He demanded
“Something must’ve gone wrong sir.” Victor said
Afton refused to believe that, and decided to have his own animatronics to help him.
He wanted them to bring T Freddy dead.
….
After the whole thing was going on, Y/n just stayed quiet hoping the horror animatronics wouldn’t notice or recognize her
“Well well well, what do we have here?” The animatronics said. He looked a little bit like a hyena or something
“Wait a minute. I know you. Yeah you’re that bear I helped rescue all those years ago. How have you been? You look a little more pale than I remember. You could probably use some sun. But then again, who am I to judge?” Deathtrap said and he laughed about it
“I’m sorry. I think you’ve got me confused for someone else-” T Freddy said, but he was cut off
“Oh come on now! I know a familiar face when I see one and I never mistake it. Hey, Lumi, Sari, look who it is. It’s our old pal, Freddy Fazbear.” He said
“Well aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” Lumi said
“Yes he is. How’ve you been, Fazbear? Hope we didn’t scare you too badly. It’s our thing after all.” Sari said
“Quick side note, I might have gotten lonely enjoying freedom all by myself, so I rebuilt them and erased their memories of me killing them. But let’s just keep that to ourselves, Eh old pal?” Deathtrap
“I don't know what you’re talking about, but that sounds really messed up.” T Freddy muttered
“Well, since we’re all friends here, you should probably excuse me, I’m in a big hurry.” He told them
But he was stopped, they seemed pretty eager to catch up with him
“Hang on there friend. It’s been a while since we’ve seen you. We have a lot of catching up to do.” Lumi insisted
“Yeah, we have so many questions.” Sari said. Like, what’s this?”
“Hey! Give that back!” T Freddy shouted
“Now, what do we have here? What’s this?” Deathtrap asked
“It’s the plan for William Afton’s machine, he’s trying to make himself immortal and he needs 6 souls of the children he murdered in order to collect their remnant.” T Freddy explained
“Wait? So that purple bastard isn’t already immortal?”
“Well, he was at one point, but not anymore.” T Freddy said
“This is fantastic! Now we actually have a shot at killing Afton and being free for good.” Deathtrap exclaimed
“Wait. So you guys have been after William Afton too?” He asked
“Em. Not necessarily. We’ve been living here all this time, peacefully. But then Afton came back and rebuilt the sister location and we were sent out of our new home and forced into hiding!” Sari said
“We wanted nothing to Afton. But that monster still finds a way to make life hard for us. So in order to get our home back, we have no choice but to find him and kill him.” Lumi suggested
They all wanted to get their revenge on him, but none of them knew that a certain someone was watching and listening to them as they talked about it while she was hiding in a closet
“All this time, I’ve been saying, “forget about Afton. Let’s just go and enjoy our freedom since we’ve been held captive for so long.” But I was wrong. He is a cancer that continues to torment us until he finally ends us.” Deathtrap said. “The only way we can truly be free, is by killing Afton once and for all. Just like Sliver wanted.”
“Rest his soul.” Lumi said
“Indeed.” Sari said
“I’m so sorry you’ve all had to suffer.” T Freddy said, sympathetically. “I guess I know what that’s like. My whole life has turned out to be a lie. I thought I was made to entertain children. But in reality, I was just used as a cover up for what Afton was really doing. Torturing those poor, innocent souls. So many people have suffered from that. But I know how to stop him. I just don’t know if I can. I don’t know if I’m strong enough.”
Y/n felt really bad about that
“I feel your pain. But if you know how you can stop Afton, then we’re just going to have to help you do it.” Deathtrap said
“What? Really?” T Freddy asked
“Of course. With 3 extra killing machines by your side, Afton will be dead before sunrise. Assuming we find him before sunrise, of course.” He chuckled
“Oh! I know where he is. He’s at the new Freddy Fazbear’s pizzeria in the shopping mall area.” T Freddy mentioned
“Heh. Shocker.” Lumi muttered
“He has a lab there where he spends most of his time. It’s also where his machine is located. If we make it back, I can destroy the machine, and you 3 can take out all the guards and kill Afton. This could actually work. We can actually stop him.”
“Then we’re all in agreement. Afton dies tonight.” Deathtrap said
And then they heard what sounded like a sneeze.
“Oh geez. Sari, have you been sneezing again?” Deathtrap asked
“I know what you’re thinking, but that wasn’t me this time.” Sari said
Then they heard what sounded like a a muffled noise coming from the closest
“It’s coming from in there.” T Freddy said, and Lumi was the first to check it out. He opened it and found the girl
“Hey guys. Check this out.” He said and he grabbed her by the prosthetic arm
“Woah!” Y/n exclaimed as she was pulled out
“What the?” Sari said
“Oh damn it.” Y/n said sarcastically
“Hey, guys, maybe we should put her down.” T Freddy suggested
“Maybe not until we get answers.” Deathtrap said. Who are you and why are you spying on us?”
She was probably thinking about lying, but she had to tell the truth
“I’m…. Y/n…. William Afton’s daughter.” She admitted
“What?!” Lumi said, as she fell to the floor, with her arm still in his hand, but he threw it on the ground
“What?!” Sari asked
“Who?” Deathtrap asked
They were all shocked, except for T Freddy who already knew her
“Yeah…”
“I know what you’re all thinking, but she’s not like her dad.” T Freddy defended her
“You’re the daughter of William Afton?!” Sari asked, shockingly
“Well, yeah.” She said
“Was this before or after he became a serial killer?” Lumi asked
“You’re the daughter of a serial killer?” Deathtrap asked
“ay dios mío. (Oh my god). Why are you all asking like that’s a big deal?” Y/n asked
“Hello? We didn’t know he had a daughter.” Sari said
“We just didn’t know what happened. It wasn’t until we heard rumor’s and news about how you survived that car accident and made… well… a sort of recovery.” Deathtrap said, as he noticed her missing arm
“So… you guys already knew about me?”
“Yep.” Lumi said
“Still, you probably might need to explain a few things.” T Freddy said
“What on earth are you talking about?” Y/n asked, not knowing what he was saying
“Maybe the fact that you weren’t back at the pizzeria! And you’ve been hiding around in the sister location for a few days after I was captured. I think you owe us an explanation.” T Freddy argued
“You were hiding in the sister location?” Deathtrap asked
Y/n couldn’t hide it anymore
“Alright, alright. If it’ll get you guys off my back, the truth is… I ran away.” She admitted
“You ran away? When?” T Freddy asked
“About hours later after you were captured. “She started with a sigh. “I took the stupid old prosthetic off, because it was just a reminder of all the lies and the schemes I’ve been manipulated into. I knew about the sister location already, so I just decided to stay there. That’s when new friends of mine found me. And they told me everything that happened in the past and the plan. After that, I wanted to stop his doings.”
They all looked at you, just confused and shocked
“But, you didn’t know about the plan? He never told you who he really was?” Sari asked
“If he did, what do think would’ve happened? Would he have ever told me? Or would he just try to kill me when he had the chance?” Y/n asked as she walked past them
“Y/n…” T Freddy muttered, worried about her
And she put her new arm back on and looked back at them.
“I know you don’t probably trust me right now. Believe you me, I wouldn’t want to either. But right now, we need to focus. We need your help so we can save the souls and destroy the machine. If we can, we might actually stand a chance.”
“And… how do we know you’ll keep your word for it?” Deathtrap asked
“Hmmm. Good point.” She agreed. And she had an idea. Well, more of a promise.
“How about… we make a deal?” Y/n suggested
“Oh c’mon. You think we’re that stupid? Making a deal with someone like you?” Lumi asked and T Freddy elbowed him
“Hey!” T Freddy said
“It’s fine. And it’s not anything dangerous or weird or whatever. It’s just a simple deal. I help you do this. And after he’s gone, in return, I’ll be willing to give you freedom. There’s plenty of places you can go and hideout for a new home. Just try staying out of sight from other humans.” Y/n explained
“That’s a pretty big deal.” T Freddy muttered
They thought about it for a while but they wanted to see how it plays out
“You won’t go double crossing us or go back on your word?” Deathtrap asked, suspiciously
“When I promise something, I never break it.” She said carefully
Deathtrap looked back at them and he went into agreement.
“Do we have a deal?” Y/n asked
And he looked back at her. Raising his arm
“We have a deal.” Deathtrap agreed
And they both shook hands
“Alright. It’s settled then. William Afton dies tonight.” Y/n said
“If only Sliver were here to see his dream becoming a reality.” Sari started with a sigh
And right as she said that, everyone backed up.
It was Silver, but he wasn’t himself
“Oh boy, that is one big bad wolf.” Y/n said, standing beside T Freddy
“Speak of the devil.” Deathtrap smirked
“Silver?” Sari asked
“That’s silver?!” Y/n asked
“He’s alive?!” Sari asked, shocked
“But you told us he was dead, Deathtrap!” Lumi mentioned
“I…uh…well…Silver, my old friend. How’ve you been old buddy…” Deathtrap tried to hug him, but he got slapped
“Yeah. I guess I deserve that.” He muttered
“I have no clue what you did, but whatever it was, you must’ve really pissed him off.” Y/n said
And then more of them came.
“Oh no. Not these guys.” Y/n said
“What are those things?” T Freddy asked
“Twisted animatronics. Monster versions of us. And they might want to hurt us. Afton told me about how he made those and they were dangerous.”
“Uh… judging by how their looking, I’d say their here to kill Fazbear only.” Sari mentioned
“Oh fan freakin tastic.” T Freddy said sarcastically
“Oh calm your pale bologna looking ass, Fazbear.” Deathtrap said. “We’re not going to let them lay a finger on you.”
“Are you kidding me?! We don’t stand a chance. It’s basically 4 savage monsters against you 3.” T Freddy said. He wasn’t being wrong about that
“Then it’s gonna be a fun fight.” Lumi said. And that’s when they started fighting
T Freddy was hiding underneath a table but he was found by the twisted version of him
And then an arrow was shot into the animatronic.
“Afton!” Y/n called out. “Afton, we need to speak!” She demanded
The twisted animatronic came close to her and then the eyes glowed as the words came out
“Y/n?” Afton replied “Is that you? Oh! I’m so relieved to hear from you. Where are you? And you are in so much tr-” he ranted but she cut him off. The others were looking at them as the confrontation went on
“Shut the hell up and let me speak!”
Everyone was shocked as she said that. T Freddy was too. He knew she was upset, but he didn’t know that her situation was this bad
“I know what you did during your days as a serial killer!” She shouted and everything just went quiet. “Did I mumble, Dad?” She said, angrily. “Why should I even call you that?”
Afton was terrified. He didn’t know how she found out but she was very furious with him
“Everything I did. I did it all for you.” He said, getting angry. “I’ve spent my entire life raising you. And this is the thanks I get?!”
She looked back at her friends who just stared at her.
“I can’t believe you. All this time you’ve been hiding this from me. And what else comes out of all this?” She said as she walked around. “You put me through a car accident, you kept lying to my face, your talking to me in a stupid excuse of a hideout house!” She ranted
“And now… she said and grabbed a bow and arrows. “I’m gonna have to help them finish this.” Y/n said
“Try it. Daughter.” Afton said, and the twisted animatronic fought her, but she fought surprisingly well
And then the fighting continued. While all that was going on, Freddy ran into the woods and Silver followed him. Deathtrap and Y/n looked at each other and nodded.
“Hey Lumi, you wanna fight 2 animatronics?” Deathtrap asked
“Not really.” Lumi said as he punched on of them
“Too bad. Here you go! Have fun.” He said as he grabbed Y/n by the hand and ran off
“Deathtrap! You son of a-” He tried to say, but the other one pounced on him
“Was that really necessary?” Y/n asked
“They’ll thank me later. Now come on!” He said
T Freddy continued to keep running until he found him and pinned him to the ground.
He was going to hurt him. Until Y/n and Deathtrap came in.
“Hi ho, freakin sliver.” He smirked
“Guys?” T Freddy said
“What, Fazbear? You didn’t think we’d let you have all the fun, did you?” He asked and Sliver started shaking them around
“Woah! Woah! Deathtrap, can’t you do something?!” Y/n shouted
“Oh calm down! Alright, let’s see if I can fix this. A little bit of this and that. And voila!” He messed with the switches and wires causing Silver to shut down and they both jumped off
“Whoops. It looks like I accidentally killed him again.” He smirked
“Dude? What did you do?” Y/n asked, feeling confused
“Well, I was trying to rewire him to see if I could turn him back to normal, but I might have short circuited him by accident. Oh well, might be for the best. Now let’s go kill Afton once and for-” he was interrupted because he was rebooting himself and then he was back to normal
“What? Where am I?” He wondered. “Ugh, my head.”
“Silver?”
“Deathtrap? What’s going on? How did we get here?” He said and looked at the other people
“Who’s the kid and the white bear?” He asked
“You.. uh… don’t remember?” Deathtrap asked
“Remember? Remember what? The last thing I remember was we were in Hurricane park, when you.. ” and then he remembered something “Stabbed me in the back.” He said angrily
“Oh.” Deathtrap muttered
And then he grabbed him and held him against a tree.
“Now hold on a minute, Sliver. I’ll explain everything later. But I think your gonna want to hear this. We know exactly where William Afton is hiding.” He said
“You do? Where? Where is he?” Silver demanded
“Our polar bear friend and newest member in the group know exactly where he is. And they have a plan to kill him for good.” He said
“Do you have a plan?” Silver asked
“Yes, we do.” T Freddy said
“And it would be a great idea if you helped us, old friend.” Deathtrap said
“Of course, anything to finally put that purple swearing bastard in the ground. Now tell me, what is this plan you two have.” Silver asked
“Alright listen closely.”
….
Afton found out about the spirit and T Freddy and the others were talking about the plan. And then the shadows came and helped them. But Silver and Deathtrap went back for Lumi and Sari

Rose Lalonde, Jade Harley
Act 4, page 1627
TT: I spoke with Jaspers.
TT: I didn't understand what he told me.
TT: He said I'll understand once I "wake up".
TT: For some reason this made me think of you.
GG: hehehe......
GG: yeah i bet hes right!
TT: We wouldn't happen to be talking about awakening in a sort of breezy, philosophical sense, would we?
TT: Is my dead cat concerned with my enlightenment? Should I prepare to shed this coil of ignorance and suffering?
GG: wow no i dont think so...
GG: hes being a bit more literal than that!
GG: what did he say?
TT: I doubt I could reproduce the statements with fidelity.
TT: It was like listening to a five year-old describe a dream.
TT: The content manages to take a back seat to the simple heartwarming spectacle of the moment.
GG: :)
GG: well what he meant was.....
GG: that you have a dream self
GG: who is supposed to wake up whenever your real self goes to sleep
GG: we all do! all four of us i mean
GG: but see your dream self still stays asleep when you go to sleep
GG: because you havent woken up yet!
TT: I think I get it.
TT: I take it your "dream self" is wide awake when you sleep?
GG: yes
TT: And would I be out of line in additionally presuming this has been the case for many years, at least as long as I've known you?
GG: no you would not be out of line!
GG: in fact im asleep now
TT: That was to be my next wild presumption.
GG: :p
TT: So when I wake up, can I look forward to being able to message people in my sleep too?
GG: no only i can do that!
GG: because of my robot
TT: Oh, right.
TT: I forgot about your robot.
TT: My short term recall seems to eschew the profoundly ridiculous.
GG: you guys can probably make your own i guess......
GG: but you need to wake up first for it to matter and maybe by the time that happens you might not even need them!!!
TT: I'm not sure if necessity is a concept I'd associate with such a contraption even under some of the more obscure scenarios imaginable.
TT: But good to know I guess.
TT: Here's another question, which I'm sure will look stupid once I've finished typing it.
TT: If my dream self is asleep, does that mean she's dreaming, and if she is, who's dreaming the dream, her or me?
GG: um.......
GG: ok well i dont really know how to answer the second part but yeah shes dreaming!
GG: shes most likely lying in your bed troubled and restless
GG: about things burdening her
GG: which is to say you!!!!!
GG: things about who you really are and what your purpose is
GG: but you cant start figuring those things out yet because youre not awake because youre not ready yet
GG: thats why you have such terrible dreams all the time rose!
TT: Ok. How do I wake up?
