Whilst overall I prefer the manga to the anime, there's one aspect that I think the anime does better - the very ending.

Compared to the manga's very compactly shown thoughts of the cast, the anime gives each of them a short scene.

But although that change already is great, what matters to me the most, is this added scene of Saiko.

Despite it being so short, it feels so fitting and important to Saiko's character, making its absence in the original seem wrong. (They also added Rifuta, though comparatively, her scene isn't so significant.)

#saiki kusuo #saiko meteori #rifuta imu #saiki k #tdlosk #the disastrous life of saiki k #i'm sure people must've said this before but i always think about this when reading through 281 #although i prefer the anime's version i also think the original has its merits #i feel like putting (almost) all of the words/thoughts in one panel puts more focus on kusuo's feelings #and it also nicely shows how recognizable the characters are just by how they talk #but i think showing the characters one last time before the end works better as a send-off #(plus it works better visually for the anime)#and i'm glad the anime remembered about imu and saiko #this scene works well as a 'conclusion/ending' of sorts for saiko (though naturally it'd be better if there was more)#it'd feel more incomplete without it #the anime also added small bits of dialogue here such as toritsuka thinking “ i know you can't hear me” which is also a nice touch #i really like the epilogue and i find the anime's adaptation of it the best part of the anime #the anime rarely adds things; it mostly removes stuff #there are few added scenes in earlier seasons but it's really not as noticeable as the things they cut/shortened #but because the epilogue has a whole episode to itself - the pacing is much better allowing them to add additional stuff #on top of already adapting the manga well #ended up going on a small ramble by accident

They *all* get a chance to be featured.#Cooperation was the real end goal! However I do think these two have the best frontman energy of the group.#Or at least 'crowd favourite' energy. I also really loved hearing what people thought their vocal styles would be like!#This was probably one of my favourite polls to do and I love drawing these characters a lot B*)#I'd love to spend a bit more time in this AU so count on me bringing it back.#One thing I keep feeling like I need to redeem myself on is Madam Lan's Translucent skirt. I have *not* done the concept justice yet.#It is such a crack-platonic ship but I want to think Madam Lan and A-Qing would enjoy each other's company.#Possibly also with JYL as well. They can be like mutually beneficial therapy dogs to each other.#Madam Lan never got to see her kids grow up into teenagers after all. She only had sons. Never daughters.#Even if she saw her kids once a month we do know she treated them with so much love and kindness.#She would bite the shit out of YZY for yelling at JYL. What a sight to see. i checked the italian blind run that apparently is very popular in the IT community. and. was anyone.

so was anyone. was anyone going to tell me in this version dusknoir asks if his existence had value.

his line about saying with full sincerity that life is marvelous.

why didnt i hear of this until now i crave to know every little difference between translations so i can cry again and again over the same guy.

#i love all the other translations dont get me wrong #there hasnt been any new content of futuee trio in 10 years i need to sustain myself somehow #no but fr 'now that the end is approaching... i can say without hesiation... and #with full sincerity... life is wonderful'#hey localization team wtf #i like other translations where dusknoir specifically says hes not wavering up till the very end #that he lived #its concise yet unflinching. a state of fact. despite all the darkness that surrounded him and he tried to perpetuate #in the end he lived. his existence happened. thanks to grovyle he can embrace the life he had and let it go with no regrets #but this IT version where it feels a little more abstract and less individualistic doesnt turn me away either #it puts the focus a bit away from himself to make a more encompassing statement: life is wonderful #living is wonderful #i dont think its inherently better or worse. i appreciate the difference. i think celebi says sth similar afterwards too #btw i teared up while taking the screenshots thank you in the morning sun #btw x2 idk italian so thank god these structures were so close and similar to spanish and latin #pmd2 #pmd dialogue

hi i wanted to draw my own au so have a snippet of scene i rewrote like 12 times and will likely rewrite again
