“Scream if you have to,” is such a terrifying phrase to hear from Bruce. But I think the Batkids actually need to hear it — whether they’re getting a bad break reset, or having a wound cauterized, or something else extremely painful — it can be a relief to know you’re allowed to yell and make noise. Relieving to know that Bruce says it’s okay to scream.

The "Sansa reminds Sandor of his sister" motive that some people try to hitch to his character really just flies in the face of his actual attachments to her, doesn't it? Sansa reminds Sandor of himself. He sees the little boy who used to love knights in this girl who's been swept up by the same romanticism. He sees his abuser in her abusers, the much larger knight(s) beating on the helpless child. He sees how she is betrayed by every level of authority that should have saved her and remembers his father's neglect and Tywin and Robert's apathy for Gregor's crimes. He's protective of Sansa because he was Sansa.
And GRRM's design, that one of the strongest warriors in the series, a fearsome and cynical 6'8" guy who's "muscled like a bull" and has the face of death itself, sees himself in this soft and effeminate teen girl, and empathizes with her because he was an abuse victim too, is INFINITELY more compelling than "Oh yeah I bet she just reminds him of his sister," who he's never mentioned and who we know literally nothing about. Way to unnecessarily water down a character, you couldn't have ignored the black and white text more efficiently if you tried.

I think the difference between him going >:((( strong pokemon#and this very calm and happy to be here bean sprout dinosaur is very fun#now about lyra’s chikorita#it end up fitting really well by completing the protag trio#she chose the starter weak to her brother’s but effective against her brother’s rival (who will also become her rival)#(that’s kris btw)#…but despite the type advantage she still loses every battle they have.#and she matches with that angsty guy they see sometimes!#success!

#this is what I think anyways#my art#dc#dc comics#clark kent#superman#bruce wayne#batman#wonder woman#diana of themiscyra#diana prince#dc trinity#you could honestly argue that any of these apply to all of them but#I think they most strongly apply to these pairings#like Bruce is also pretty lonely but Diana and Clark’s detachment from their homes specifically#is a consistent weakness for them#kryptonite literally being the shattered remains of Clark’s world and any threats or changes to themyscira being what always gets#an emotional reaction out of Diana in fights… they both have homes they’re unable to return to#and Diana is also pretty bad at opening up to people but only because she isn’t aware she has any problems to begin with#Bruce and Clark at least somewhat know when they have an issue. and then tell nobody anyways#Diana and Bruce ohh their parallels make me crazy#their incredible devotion to being a protector that they get so absorbed in they can’t see themselves as anything outside of it?? crazy#I think Clark and Diana also have a shared complicated relationship to their public idolization but I couldn’t#fit that into a concise sentence#I care for them so deeply.
