just finished practice makes perfect by sarah adams !! 🩷

my rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

when i went into this book i was honestly skeptical. partly because at the time i was reading this, i was in the middle of a really bad reading slump and everything i read just hasn't been hitting that much which leads me to pretty much dnfing what i could get my hands on.

but when i tell YOU. this book solved that issue and it made me feel so so SO good.

practice makes perfect follows when in rome mmc noah walker's little sister, annie walker and will griffin, the bodyguard

in a nutshell, annie pretty much feels like there's something lacking in her life and thinks that settling down, marriage and having kids is what'll fill that void she's been feeling, because that's what she saw in her late parents. so she goes on a date with someone! spoiler alert: it ended in disaster

enter will griffin: the sexy, tattooed bodyguard who annie may or may not has been crushing on for about the same time as when they first met. annie was devastated that she can't land a date or find her perfect husband for her perfect future, so amelia, her future sister-in-law, sets up a plan. will griffin will be her practice person to find that perfect someone annie's been looking for.

they banter, they bond, and eventually they start to fall for each other. but not without speed bumps along the way!

i loved how will was written and how his past was delicately put out there without it being romanticized or overbearing. he was troubled, and that itself is honestly what made me adore him. and not to mention, annie!!! her grief was just beautifully well done!! as someone who has also lost a parent, that silent grief annie felt throughout the book was such... a relatable experience. it felt so real it hurt. it made me remember my own experience with what it was like having to live through putting my own hurt aside for the sake of others. it made me feel seen through her and it meant so much to me.

the stories following rome, kentucky by sarah adams have been nothing but amazing for me. the fluff, the love, and everything in between, it's definitely touched my heart in more ways than one. i'll have to see how the third book will be once it's out!! the third book will follow emily walker, but im particularly excited about maddie's book too. james has a secret... 👀👀

overall, this book was such an enjoyable experience!!!!! i might need a second to move on from this because i loved them both so much 😭 definitely a must read for those who like small town romances !!!!
