L Is For Love - Pt.1 (Soulmate!Au)
A/N: I saw this idea on a Tumblr post and omg I wanted to write it so bad. This probably will turn into a short fic, and my replaced au fic will be on hold for a while cuz I need to reset my brain (I have commitment issues) Anyways, enjoy~ (Also I'm not familiar with writing gender neutral reader so if you spot a mistake please let me know!) Also it refers to furries at one point, and it isn't meant to be derogatory or anything, trust.
Pairings: Lucifer X GN!Reader, Leviathan x GN!Reader
"Oh I can't believe it happening to me"
A tattoo. One simple letter, inked into your arm the day you turned 18.
What value does one sole letter hold?
Everything.
That one simple letter becomes the reason you breath, sleep, eat, live.
Some call it a scam, saying a letter can't define who your lover should be. But of course, only the ones who haven't experienced it, will judge it, no?
They say fate holds the reins, deciding who will meet who, when and why. So when you get your letter, don't stress! All will fall into place when it has to.
No one can change what is written in the stars....
As the sun shone through the pastel curtains, you groaned, covering your face with your hand, still half asleep.
Suddenly, a throbbing pain shot up your hand, and you cursed, pressing into the pained area with your other hand to deviate the pain. Grumbling, you stumbled to their feet, cursing as you nearly tripped over your own dirty socks, as you opened the bedroom door. You stumbled into the bathroom, squinting at the harsh white light of the bathroom, as you heard your annoying brother shout,
"Oi! You think you can be any less louder?! What are you, King Kong?! Stop stomping around the house!"
"Shut it!", you yelled, or more like groaned, sleep clouding your voice.
Blinking quickly, you tried to make sense of your surroundings, your eyes travelling over the sickeningly white walls and countertops, with speck of black marble in them.
Another round of pain shot up your arm and you hissed, quickly running your left hand under the water. Your eyes went to your wrist to see what was making it hurt so bad.
A black mark.
You frowned. Had your idiotic brother drawn on your hand while you were fast asleep? Was that it? But upon closer inspection, you noticed a very messy letter inked into your wrist.
L
"Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this"
A soulmate mark is an inscription in one's wrist, of their fated soulmate. One cannot pick his soulmate, for it is decided by fate.
You scoffed, slamming the book shut, and instantly regretting it when a plume of smoke shoots up and you cough, face red as other people sitting near you shoot you a dirty look.
You hated this library with a passion. You loved reading, yes, but this library sucked. It made it seem as if talking was a crime, and dropping a book, a sin.
Grunting, you grabbed the heavy book and lugged it back to its original spot, because god forbid you placed the book in those bright yellow plastic carts. Even though they were made and placed for the very reason that you could place books in there instead of heaving them back to their original spot, you'd much rather commit arson that use the cart. It was for show anyways.
As you walked out of the library, your eyes fell on your wrist again, tracing the L inked into it.
It annoyed you greatly that you didn't know your soul mate's name, just the letter.
"If fate wants to decide my soulmate for me then why the fuck can't I know their full name?"
You suddenly yelped, stumbling into something that sounded a lot like coins, and cursed. Kneeling to pick up the coins, you realised you had tripped into some beggar's coin jar.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!", you apologized, quickly picking up the coins and dropping them back into the jar. You raised your head to look the homeless man in the eyes, his haggard white hair and beard covering his face. " Are you okay?!"
"You cannot change fate. You will meet him when it is fated. Don't fight it."
Taken aback, you blinked once, then twice. "I-I'm sorry?"
"Don't question fate. Fate is decided, you will meet him when the time is right."
Your breathing quickened as you stared at the man, still kneeling. His beard was too white to be related to old age. His hair was too full and too shiny to be old. His eyes were too bright, his lips were too full, his skin was too-
You gasped as if someone had pulled you out of water right as you were drowning. You quickly jumped to your feet, backing away from the man.
"I-I'm sorry, I have to go!"
Quickly dropping a coin into his coin jar, you turned and took off running, cold sweat dropping down your face. It wasn't until you were a good three blocks away that you calmed down, panting.
Crossing the street, you murmured to yourself, "psycho old man, what the fuck was he try-"
Beep!
A horn sounded as you turned, car light's blinding you as the last thing you saw was a horrified expression of the driver as he surely ran you over.
For some reason, you felt no pain. Did you die? Probably...
You groaned, opening your eyes to see a dark mahogany ceiling, with floating candles. Hogwarts? Was Hogwarts heaven suddenly? Was this some software update you didn't know about?
"Ah, it seems your awake..."
You shrieked, jumping six feet into the air, and saw a man with bright red hair, and....horns?
Your wrist tingled, and you internally thought, was this furry your soulmate?
"My name is Diavolo, future king of Devildom, or as you humans may call it, Hell."
Your eyes widened. So you did die. And you didn't even go to heaven! But at least on the bright side, this furry...or whatever he was, wasn't your soulmate. So, yay?
"I know you must be confused right now, but allow me to explain. We were planning on bringing you here for some time as a part of an exchange student program. However, while we were about to summon you, you nearly got into a terrible car accident. Thankfully, albeit some mysterious reason, we were able to save you before you died. Now, let me introduce you to the demons you'll be living with."
And just like that, you were a human exchange student in Hell. The “demons” you were supposed to live with weren’t there when you first arrived, so you were told to live in the Purgatory Hall, with two angels and a suspicious looking human. After that day when you found your soulmate’s letter, you hadn’t seen it again. You knew two of the demons had their names start in L. Could one of them be your soulmate?
You were dying to meet them, but as that creepy old man, and practically everyone in your life had said, you had to wait for fate to make you two meet.
To be continued….

requests 2: electric boogalo
(sure wonder whos hand that is...) I forgot to screenshot this request before deleting it from my inbox. I think @sunriseindigo requested their fav lil guy Min, but if it wasn't you uh. Hope whoever did request it sees this! I went kinda hard on this bc I have posted Min on this blog ONE time. and that's a crime.
forgot to screenshot this one to, but an anon suggested: Hu patching up Ace after he falls off of a horse. I feel like even if Hu and Ace don't get along, she'd try to come to his games to support him once in a while as the mom of the group! (even if Ace is her least favorite child.) In like 90 degree heat she'd pull up, with enough sunscreen and waterbottles to keep everyone in a 70 mile radius hydrated and safe from skin cancer. And she wouldn't hesitate to help Ace if he gets hurt, ofc!
...
I really fucked up with forgetting to screenshot a good amount of these. whoever needed a pic of Nico beating Ace in a fight, I delivered! The tone in which you asked wasn't too serious, so i hope a shitpost is sufficient for your needs.
(someone requested sora and yuki from sdra2 in drdt and im gonna make that its own post. so just know u were seen anon. also person who asked for more ace and eden, same thing.)
i can always draw Whace. they are my everything.
mans even singing it wrong 💀 (thanks for the request i love whace sm im glad they remind you of u and ur bf :D)
in a better world, Arei is talking to her therapist about Hopes Peak drama rn. (i love drawing arei thank you anon)
honestly this ship had never crossed my mind. i couldn't rlly think up anything too cute for it so i went silly instead kjfaljdf (thanks for the request @weightedblankettt, I LOVE THAT ONE FIC YOU WROTE WITH LIKE THE NICO AND ACE SWAP THING. i literally went "OH MY GOD???" when i saw you sent in a request fkhfla /pos)
Hello again @xmicrophonyx :)) thanks for another request
I feel like Xander would buy a skirt to wear to a protest or something and then he'd go "wait but it matches my hair..." and then wear it like just out and about sometimes. Whit would just have one I think. Just randomly bought it and wears it. And Levi literally makes clothes, so I'm sure hes made a few dresses for himself just to test techniques and such. Ik you didn't ask but I felt like explaining my choices for who I drew 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Ur so right actually. I feel like Veronika would be like "Ohhh weird morally gray old man??? ILY." and he would actively detest her. thank you anon i haven't drawn a soy-bean (syobai) in a loonggg time lmao
Ajhskjfafksaflsga gay peiple. i love them. i really do. thank you anon. gay oepeple. aughgshah. /POS

I don’t normally share personal projects here but I'm happy with the art so why not. Anyway these are some character concepts for a game pitch assignment I've been working on. It's still very much in its infancy but the idea is a dating sim/visual novel-style game based around the concept of a support group for the henchmen of supervillains, called "Henchman Anonymous."
You-- the player-- are the familiar to Carmilla de Villeneuve, the Vampire Princess (pictured left). No, she isn't royalty. Yes, you're pretty sure she stole her name from popular vampire media. But yes, she's actually a vampire, a vampire supervillain more specifically, and a very mediocre one at that. After years of thankless work executing her extravagantly stupid schemes (that might also just be a wee bit genius) and styling her finger waves you've about had it. That's what Henchman Anonymous is for, breaking up with your abusive boss! Only one issue you might sort of actually be a bit in love with her... Perhaps what you need is a little help getting over her.
As of right now I only have two main routes planned.
Route #1: Amélie is one of Ring Master's many henchmen and she is also her daughter. Let's just say crime runs in the family, as in they're literally a crime family. Amélie is the fourth eldest of eight, meaning her smack dab in the middle and often overlooked. Between the size of her family and her mother's controlling tendencies, Amélie feels more than a little stifled. She hopes that Henchmen Anonymous will help her break free and lead a normal life. It's too bad her boss just happens to be your boss' villain rival— not that Ring Master knows that.
Route #2: Dorian is a man of mystery, well it's more accurate to say he's a stubborn jerk who refuses to share anything, despite being in a support group. You swear he looks familiar though. Little do you know the reason Dorian won't talk is because he's not-so-secretly the sidekick to the Ebony Knight-- your city's resident vigilante-- who's undercover trying to get insider information on supervillains so that maybe his boss will fully take him under his wing. Unfortunately for you, the reason he looks so familiar is that the Ebony Knight might just be Carmilla's nemesis and absolute obsession. (Lego Batman and Lego Joker vibes)
Main Route:
Ideally, I would like to have a non-romance-based route for those who want to explore the plots of both stories. This route would allow players to learn about both Amélie and Dorian's connections to Carmilla and allow you to befriend them. There are also a couple secondary non-romanceable characters that I haven't mentioned because I don't have concepts drawn up for them that would get more emphasis. I haven't decided if it would be something activated by not scoring high enough with either of the romanceable characters or if it's something I would let players choose.
Secret Route:
In my head, I'm calling this the "I can fix her" route, because that's basically what it is. It would focus on getting to know Carmilla. In all versions of the story, there would ideally be a plot about learning to set boundaries with Carmilla, but this secret route would basically allow you to then romance her. Unlike the other routes, Carmilla wouldn't be something you could choose, you'd have to earn it through the main route.
Notes on the designs:
Carmilla died in the 50's and is old Hollywood-inspired, specifically Marilyn Monroe who I used as a clothing reference. Overall I wanted this whole series to read very campy and lean into tropes, so I tried to also capture as many vampire motifs as I could. While she loves to look glamorous she's actually not all that good at styling herself. I sort of based her on the wwdits vampire logic of them being dated but not completely tied down to whatever century they died in. Committing to the aesthetic is the most important factor.
Amélie is based on court jesters and is absolutely supposed to be a Harley Quinn knockoff. I mixed several eras for her clothing. Court jesters are associated mostly with being medieval so I pulled some references there with the headdress, which I heavily stylized to look like devil horns. The ribbons are a call back to the veils women used to wear. The collar and sleeves are more Elizabethan, while the stays are based on 18th century fashion. (I've been drawing too much ofmd fanart my bad everypony) Don't ask me where the chemise is, maybe it's cropped. For the bottom half I referenced DC comics silhouettes. It might also be worth mentioning that I was listening to Chappell Roan while drawing her initial designs, so that really carried over in the make-up, but I swear she was always going to be a redhead!
Dorian's outfit I have to be so real about, I'm not super satisfied with. I wanted to do a more modern, street-wear look. The best way to describe the vibe I wanted to go for is "if DC's Nightwing were to try to style Marvel's Prowler." I wanted this sort of uptight, hyper-serious sidekick to dress like what he thought villains dressed like. So I opted to put him in stereotypical "bad boy" clothing; leather jacket, studded belts, fingerless gloves. I looked at a lot of Shadow the Hedgehog gijinka fanart. I don't hate what I came up with, but I definitely want to push the design more next time, really amp up the emo, bad boy-ness of it all.
some notes on the design of the game:
Because I'm still very early on in the hypothetical process I don't have backgrounds or specific graphic design elements selected. However, my initial idea would be to use the classic comic book style font with the text bar emulating speech bubbles-- well, closer to the bubbles they use for inner dialogue or establishing shots. I want to play up that comic book vibe.
And for funsies here’s a facial sprite in action:
(ingore her lack of feet it's a sprite draft)
#i don't know if it's obvious but i go to art school teehee#txt#long post#oc#oc art#original art#original character#henchman anon#my art

Ok, so I saw your post about batfam in Pjo cabins. I loved it but I just have one criticism, Jason in either a Dionysus or Apollo kid.
Apollo because:
1. Don't you dare insult his mom in front of him (didn't Apollo kill a whole kingdom because they insulted his mother)
2. His thirst for knowledge, people often forget that Jason genuinely enjoyed school and learning new things (coincidentally Apollo is also the god of knowledge)
3. His fav subject? English (a language, and Apollo is also the god of languages)
Dionysus because of the Theatre kid vibes I get from him
But I would like to know your thought process too!!!
OH MY GOD, YESSSS!!! I'm so glad someone also agrees that Jason is an Apollo's kid. Unfortunately, the post I made was a heat of the moment kind(cuz I haven't done a DC post in a while), and because of that, I didn't take into account that Jason is also an Apollo kid.
I think that he was 100% an Apollo kid before he died but after death, there was all that rage and hate in his character, which led me to sort him into Ares
Let's not forget the fact that Jason was considered to be the most behaved Robin. He wasn't vengeful, he didn't stalk, he didn't kill; this boy just wanted to have a good and normal life without having to worry about anything, but he was drawn a bad hand.
In a world where Jason was raised without the poverty and crime around him, he would have been an Apollo kid. Technicqlly he still is, but do we get enough nedry and dorky Jason? Nooooo. I often headcanon that Jason became a Literature Professor (let's not forget thar Apollo is also the God of Poetry) in a No Capes AU. If not, then Lawyer (story for another time).
I agree that Jason is an Apollo kid with all the nerdiness and dorkiness in him.
Jason being an Ares kid is, I agree, a bit stereotypical for him. However, again, there is more to their characters that wanting to fight and wanting bloodshed.
If you don't already know, Ares is actually one of the most caring parents and respectful in the mythology. Not the series, the MYTHOLOGY. This man never raped, is an amazing father to his children, and is a protector of those who can't protect those who are seen to be not worth protecting. (Idc if the rape thing technically has nothing to do with Jason but it felt like it deserved a mention)
Jason is one of many misunderstood and misconceptualized characters in DC. And both he and Ares are only viewed for their bloodlust and violence. When really, there are so much more to their characters than that and people refuse to see that side of them cuz they want to limit their personality to that certain figure.
TL;DR: I do agree that Jason is an Apollo kid. However, in my personal opinion, it was more in pre-death. After death his Apollo-ness was still there but not as much. I personally think he was more an Ares post-death.
AGAIN, I have never read PJO and I'm basing this on what I already know about the series and about the mythology

Mr. Monitor and Mr. Puzzles seem to have suspicious oddly specific similarities...I think.
WARNING: A COUPLE SPOILERS FOR THE PUZZLEVISION MOVIE!
So, I have paired up Mr. Puzzles and Mr. Monitor for a while now. Simply because they are both have a screen for a head, and are from SMG4. Oh, and also because I love them both! I have drawn them together at some point. But for a while, I only paired the 2 because they have screen heads. I didn't think they were that similar. But I have taken a bit of a closer look at both of them, and I've noticed a few strange similarities.
| Design |
Well, they are both Screen Heads...Obviously. They both have a white long sleeve shirt with pockets. Mr. Monitor has a tie, while Mr. Puzzles has a bowtie. They both wear hats, and they are both quite slender and tall. Albeit, Mr. Puzzles proportions are a bit more exaggerated. And they are both cyborgs, rather than being robots. Mr. Monitor seems much more robotic, but he has human hands. Although his model Is just a generic police officer model with a monitor head, so maybe I'm overlooking that. But In "If Mario was In... Friday Night Funkin 2" He needed to use the bathroom. So It seems he still has basic human needs.
| Name |
I don't know how I haven't noticed this before, but It seems to be a bit of a suspicious similarity...Their names both start with "Mister", and their last names are words rather than names. (Monitor and Puzzles) Now why would SMG4 Give Mr. Puzzles such a similar name to Mr. Monitor...?
| Personality |
Their personalities seem quite different at first glance, But I have noticed a few weird similarities.
They get extremely worked up when you do a certain thing, but then proceed to do that thing themselves. Examples: In the PuzzleVision Movie, Mr. Puzzles got mad that SMG4 swore In his kids rated TV show, and then told the audience (which he called kids) which torture method they should use to punish SMG4 and SMG3. And Mr. Monitor getting mad when someone does something ILLEGAL, and then brutally assaults or kills the "criminal".
They both have an unhealthy obsession with something. Mr. Monitor Is obsessed with taking down anything that Is ILLEGAL, Going as far as to break the law himself. But when he did a minor crime like stepping on grass, he had a breakdown. and I mean, a LITERAL breakdown. he exploded. Mr. Puzzles Is obsessed with PERFECT ratings, so he could have creative control over everyone In his show. and I mean It, PERFECT ratings. In his perspective, a 4.9 star rating Is a 1 star rating. And he would do anything to get It back to PERFECT. ANYTHING. And as we know In The PuzzleVision Movie, he had a breakdown after he was defeated by the SMG4 crew. His last words being "I just wanted to make a good TV show..."
They are both quite lonely. Mr. Monitor treats other Monitors as people, and has a Microwave for a wife. And Mr. Puzzles has said all his life he has struggled to make friends, so he watched TV instead. Although Mr Puzzles doesn't really care, as he Is very egotistical.
They both seem to have anger issues. Mr. Monitor appears to be quite brutal and aggressive to people that break the law. and he doesn't mind hurting a child as we saw In "The Totally Legit Learning Show With SMG4". And Mr. Puzzles Is also pretty violent to the SMG4 Crew after they enraged him by decreasing his ratings.
Andddd, those are the similarities I can think of In the moment. this might all be a coincidence, because Hal Monitor hasn't had a major role In forever.
But I think It would be pretty cool If Mr. Monitor was associated with Mr. Puzzles! Because I love Mr. Monitor! and maybe they would redesign him If It were true? I might draw my own fan design for Mr. Monitor at some point...
I've got a backstory I made up for Mr. Puzzles that explains the similarities, but we'd be here all day If I started rambling about that! And you might be saying...
"There Is no way Mr. Monitor Is connected to the Mr. Puzzles lore! Mr. Monitor Is just a character around for jokes!" And to that I say...Waluigi and Francis.
But you are right In a way, I might just be speculating! Thanks for reading.

Me and my friend have been reading your story together and they are a few chapters ahead of me but still we want to know your opinion on our favorite not canon ship. I know this might sound strange but it’s Lev x Wicks. We have almost the epitome of a court case to support why we ship this to if you’re interested.
Anyways, I want to thank you for writing this, when we have nothing to talk about in the group we just rant about your story and our favorite characters so have a Gouda day lol.
AHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HEWP ME. THANK YOU FOR READING AND ENJOYING.
So, okay, since you are at that point in the story. I am guessssssing, the one that I have on my other blog.
There are a few fun things that have not been explained in Widfali regarding them. However, I do not quite know where you are so I will withhold for now. LOL.
However, this is probably one of the most cursed ships, at this current point in the story. As spoiler free as possible below.
Between them, would be interesting though:
Tidbit - Something I realized as of late; Wicks is drawn to people (or more like dragged in) by people with strong personalities. Lynette and his other buddy, who you will meet later if you haven't Garter. Lynette and Garter both are very, "you're going to be my friend and like it". Lev also has a strong extroverted personality like them, so he'd drag in Wicks one way or another.
Personality -
Wicks is reserved. It's not shown much in the story but he's somewhat socially awkward. He doesn't do small talk, nor does he enjoy speaking to people if he doesn't have too. He is seen having fun or acting silly with Lynette because he's obviously very comfortable with his best friend and sister. Other than that, he tries to avoid conversation with people he's not close to unless it's important to discuss like work or he wants them to feel included. However, he usually gets stuck in his own head.
Lev on the other hand, LOVES conversation. He's not a fan of small talk either, he'll instead change the subject to find peoples interest or joke around and get them at ease. Traversing conversation does not scare him, if anything, he's mastered it.
Overall, they are both hard working and like to spend time with people they care about. They'd both value each other's time and would put effort into the other to improve themselves. Lev is more playful with his jabs though and Wicks would take them seriously. Which would lead to some "friendly" combativeness. Basically, Lev would tease the sh*t out of Wicks and Wicks would want to hide his embarrassment or fight.
Combability Relationship Wise -
It's honestly a mash up. I don't think Wicks could or would easily forgive and forget Lev's crimes against his sister. Even if Lynette said it was okay and forgave him. Wicks will hold a grudge. And uh, Lev with uh, insert spoiler here, would be a very funny given his history. Especially if he found out other certain family related matters, not talked about in Widfali yet. It will be in this current arc on my other account.
Other than that, they'd work as well as two alley cats in the same home. A lot of fighting, biting, hissing, and etc, at least at first. But they'd mellow out to one another eventually. I feel like Lev could win over Wicks, overtime. WHICH Lev is and will always be a very patient person. He has time to spare, and he will if he chooses to dedicate himself to someone.
Wicks's love language is words of affirmation which Lev would give him, similar to Lynette. It's the kind of reassurance Wicks needs as he questions himself constantly. While Wicks would do acts of service for Lev, trying to assist and get things done for him when he can. Wicks wants to make things easier on his partner, and Lev would appreciate it because it means he can get back to his odd hobbies and things so much faster.
...
"Realistic factors" (It's a fiction story so this is funny) -
Though, Lev goes on dates with humans, he'd probably want a Drakin like himself in a long-term relation because his species mates for life. Even if their mate passes, they'll never love in that way again.
Wicks would want control in the relationship and with Lev, that's a hard sell. Not that Lev would control every aspect of it, he might be a little at first because of his own personal need to plan everything out, he'd just hold enough power that Wicks would feel overwhelmed and worried. This would take time with trust.
And ha, most importantly, Lev ages slower than Wicks BY A LOT. Every forty years Lev ages up one year. Sorry to fans. Unless there was a way to stop someone's aging/change someone into something that lives a very long time, it probably wouldn't happen. Technically there are a few methods. The risk of death is there. They won't be talked about in Widfali...probably?
...
That being said. I HAVE written, but never editted and published a funny joke for April fools about Lynette having a nightmare where Wicks and Lev were dating, get married, and then he eats Wicks in front of her. xDDD
SO, THIS WAS SO HILARIOUS TO READ. Thank you for making me crack up so much. You and your friend better have a wonderful day! (Nonnegotiable).

14, 23 and 91!
Ohhh oh!!!! I like these ones quite a lot! This is going to be a lenghty answer
14. I'm stuck between Kokichi's 4th freetime event because I find it absolutely hilarious how he predicts all of Shuichi's moves, and Ibuki's last freetime event because I truly felt seen through her words... It was a very touching moment that I think I won't ever forget; also Ibuki is pretty awesome
23. woah... what can I say, v3's chapter 1 is an absolute 10/10 from start to finish, and an incredible introduction to such a wonderful game! From the motive, the setting + buildup, the blackened and the victim, and also the REAL blackened.... What a crazy start! I would've normally answered v3's chapter 5 because it was genuinely one of the most stressful trials I had to endure, but I barely see chapter 1 getting the credit it deserves (also... I just love these two equally)
To this day it still sends me chills to my bones when we get to the protag switch on the trial, and I even start sobbing! Seriously after all this time and it still gets some tears out of me?? Not many cases gets me this emotional. It was also like such a bold move on the team for getting rid of the protagonist, and setting such an important message that carried all the way through till the end, and affected almost if not all the members of the cast! Kaede is such an amazing character seriously... And I think that's what v3 does best, making you feel so deeply for fictional characters that you truly get invested in the hardships they face
Also Rantaro was such a big enigma, I loved what they were setting up for him and it got me really intrigued as to find out more about him and his talent throughout the game, and when we got, later on, a segment of his video I was so hooked! He's such a mysterious character I can't help it but be drawn to him
Overall, rewatching this chapter for a second time truly hits different, knowing exactly what actually happened and seeing the countless of ways they could've avoided this situation can be a bit frustrating but I would personally not change anything as I enjoy the impact it had on the story
edit: I feel like I haven't properly answered the ask, as I've only touched the trial part of the chapter, but ch1's Daily Life was the real deal, as I was really invested in Kaede's will to work together with everyone, how little by little she formed almost an unbreakable bond with Shuichi (in such a short time at that) and the conflicts that came from her stubborness! Her rivalry with Rantaro, even if it was subtle, was really well handled, since they truly conveyed the Belief vs Distrust themes of v3, and even after their death that theme was thankfully explored through Kokichi and Kaito. I also like how ch1 and ch4 compliment each other as they don't shy away from tormenting these characters alongside the player, and how both blackeneds were almost impossible to imagine commit a crime such as murder. They knew exactly the right buttons to push to get you weeping on your seat
(Ahh.... I will probably talk about v3's chapter 5 on another, more elaborate, post, as I feel that if I start talking about it now this post is going to get reaaaaal long)
91. Dang it why does it always have to be one? There are so many good ones, I can't choose... So I will just link some down here ;)
Gravitational Attraction by whattheskyknows is without a debout one of my favourite oumota fics! And surprsignly enough, it's fluff. (I'm more into angsty fics haha) it's genuinely really funny and their romance is just so them! I would recomend it to anyone
Motive 5: Death Puzzles by lunarleonardo is a really good chapter 5 rewrite where it completely changes the course of the game (by adding this rather... special Motive, yk what to expect from the title alone),and it's also saiou, which I'm a big softie for. I'm pretty sure it was one of the first Danganronpa fanfictions I had read when I entered the fandom a couple of months back (?) It's filled with angst and the way lunarleonardo handled saiou's relationship made me feel deeply for these two. I would pay reaaally close attention to the warnings at the start of each chapter thoought, as it gets really bad at some points, but promise there's a happy ending!
I'd Trade My Life for Yours by grayimperia is definitely a must-read on the dr fandom (in my must humble opinion haha), like there's always this one fanfiction everyone has read or should read it within a fandom, just like with Amalgamate by DoctorHaifisch, and these two are definitely the v3 fanfictions! They're both wonderful pieces of fiction that delivered amazing new insights on the cast, and put together some really cool scenarios that are just as good as what canon gave us. I feel like I'm reading a script directly from a Danganronpa Game, because the characterization of each of the characters and their dialogues are on point, awesome stuff that I'm sure many have already read, but I couldn't not put them
finally (because this is getting really long, sorry) Reaching by kokichiouma is my personal favourite timeloop fic! I'm a big fan of the character exploration for Kokichi that the author made through this fic, and his relationship with Shuichi is just *cheffs kiss*, very high quiality fic! And a bit underrated too, it deserves so much more praise
..... Phew! That was a looot of yapping, my bad! Thanks for the ask btw <3

i dont know how to word this well but hopefully my point gets across. as ive gone through lots of manga/hwa/huas for the past few years, there's been a lot less hate for fat female characters, and when the author portrays negative traits in them, the comments are always up in arms to defend said character or point out that it was unnecessary and was adding onto a distasteful image of associating fat people = evil in media. that's good!
but i've realised that there's not as much defense or uproar when it's a fat male character? you know the one. they'll be drawn comically fat with tiny features to show that even the author thinks this character is a waste of time to put effort into giving them a design full of character details and an actual Story. they might even be bald in some cases to drive home the "lecherous old man preying on the helpless" image. they'll be bumbling, incompetent, the most inarticulate bastard in the story, and the author wants you to KNOW it. look at this guy. he's obviously meant to be hated. look how pathetic he is and how he pales in comparison with our hero, who is charming, pure snow-white in morality, Has Never Done Anything Wrong Ever.
the trouble is, unlike female fat characters that are often used as a sort of cynical, pessimistic evil whose entire identity is to prove that "sometimes you're ugly both inside and out", that isn't the case for fat male characters. in a way, fat female characters have a "way out", so to speak, because there IS a probable cause that's snowballed the problem until its become a mountain; particularly, the cord that binds how they're expected to perform in society (gender roles, sexism, internalised misogyny) and how they feel they aren't able to escape scrutiny anyways for being ugly, even if they're good. so why not go all the way? what's the use in being halfheartedly acknowledged for who you try to be, when you could be the worst version of yourself, and at least THEN they'll finally look at you proper? so a lot of fat female characters who turn evil are often in this line of thought, i think. despite how much they're trying to break free from the preconceived notions of what people want them to be, it still clashes with their innate desire to be seen, accepted, and loved by other people. so the answer to "redeem" them? simple. accept them. that's enough to write a satisfactory redemption arc to turn them "good" again.
but fat male characters... i've noticed that they're written with crimes much heavier and much more serious than their female counterparts. their appearance is never purely for the sake of psychological friction (stirring the pot, instigating distrust) in the story. we see them drawn with disgusting lustful expressions to show that they haven't moved past primitive desires (they're worse than children—they're children with an adult's ability to get what they want), touching people inappropriately, their minds always turning to the worst possible scenario, their dialogue always written with an undercurrent of narcissism, like the river of his own life was completely empty save for his own self-admiration. is that really all there is to them? how did they manage to get this far in life without ever experiencing or being convinced — or tried to be convinced — to change? has he, in all his years of living, never experienced a shred of empathy for others? has he never felt touched by the connection of another human being?
and then at the end of the story i know it was useless to ask these questions — he only existed as a plot device, as an antagonist for the final climax and resolution, the dragon to be slayed.
but he's not a dragon. he's a human, and despite his current problematic views on life or people, i'd like to try and imagine what it's like to "redeem" him.
but almost always, there IS no way. the author has cut off every possible escape route for him. he was always evil. he can't be helped. he can't change. he was always going to do this, so there's no point in imagining a world where he didn't.
but like. why? why do fat female characters get to be redeemed with the power of Love and Friendship but not him? why is it not enough for him to be bad, he must also be dangerous beyond recourse?
i don't really know the answer to this question, since i'm AFAB and i don't have insight on the matter beyond my own speculations. but the only thing i know is that it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth when i see him being toppled over as the final Evil, and everyone cheering in the comments with "i've always found him sus" "finally you disgusting pig" "i hope he never shows up ever again"
i have to say, i don't like the idea, especially in fiction, that people are irredeemable and unworthy of compassion. of course this isn't a plea to forgive them or to get them out of fictional jail or whatever, but i'd at least like to entertain the thought that i want to know the entirety of a person's character before writing them off, and you can do that in stories. i can't do that in real life. i would kill myself trying. sometimes people just hurt you and you have to accept that they hurt you to give yourself express permission to protect yourself.
but in fiction... are you really telling me that a world with dragons can exist but not the possibility of change for a character whose fate was set in stone the moment their shape was carved into existence?
#yuu rambles#idk idk idk. ive had a lot of thoughts about this for a while#btw anyone who interacts w this dont fuckin come at me with the all men are evil garbage#its prolly only gonna be seen by friends who follow me but just in case i wanna put it out there#i dont believe all men are evil though i do think theyre raised and incentivized to nurture traits that are#convenient for being evil effectively. but its taught not inborn meaning anyone can decide to change what they dont like#about themselves. its called accidents of birth bc we dont have a say in how we're born in what appearance in what environment#but as you grow up you do owe yourself the opportunity to be someone you're proud of#and to be honourable both in character and action#anyways. ANYWAYS!!!!!!!#idk man im just rambling. also there might be processing some Shit in here tehepero#u know how it be!!!!#i fuckin FORGOR to trigger tag this im sorry!!!#tw fatphobia

9, 11, & 14!
YET ANOTHER MULTIMUSE QUESTIONNAIRE. ACCEPTING!
9. For canon characters, tell what drew you to use a character to make them a muse? Any of your choice.
I'll just talk a little about all of them! Strawberry Crepe was an easy choice for me. The moment I have a mess of lengthy, disorganized notes on my phone and a handful of Google docs filled with ideas and headcanons about a character, it's almost certain I'll be making a blog for them lol! Perhaps there is some familiarity with them and even Silverbell, as Strawberry Crepe has some shades of Sora Shiun'in while Silverbell has hints of III / Michael Arclight, but they're still very much different characters and certainly can't be treated as the same. Though now that we're talking about Silverbell, I honestly ended up picking him up pretty quickly because he just instantly appealed to me haha. I loved nearly everything about Secrets of the Silver Kingdom update, especially the culture and mythos of the faeries ( and of course the beasts ), and I will absolutely be expanding it with my own lore and such! I hope we get to revisit the faeries at some point. Red Velvet and Stardust both kinda fall in the same category — I love both of them as characters and enjoy their stories, but I've never quite written muses like either of them before. I've always wanted to broaden my horizons and try new types of characters, and Cookie Run gives me that chance in a way that other fandoms I'm in don't seem to. I'm not exactly confident in my portrayals of them yet, which is why Red Velvet and Stardust are currently labeled tertiary, but I actually do have a lot of thoughts and feelings about both of them! Eternal Sugar and Peach Blossom was purely because of aesthetic. Now that we actually have the story of Peach Blossom, which did not satisfy me simply for my bias of wanting him to be more important / involved ( especially considering his character inspiration ), it's more because of the potential I see in him. I feel a lot more can be done with Peach Blossom, and I very much plan on developing him further and having fun while I'm at it! As for Eternal Sugar, I'm very much looking forward to their debut episode ( whenever it comes ) and learning about how they became corrupted. I have a feeling all the beasts have a similar setup to Mystic Flour ( in that they didn't become 'evil' for the sake of being evil — there was a cause, a reason, an epiphany of some sort. ) My portrayal will probably stray away from canon to some degree because I already have a few personal headcanons for them, but to be honest, all my portrayals here are headcanon-based on some level or another. Some more than others, but my point still stands!
11. Have you ever drew any of your muses, if so can you show a drawing?
As far as my Cookie Run muses go? I haven't yet and that's a crime! My art is still amateurish and I haven't drawn consistently enough to have improved very much, but I've been trying to revisit the basics and go forward from there more recently, jotting down ideas for when I feel my skills are a bit better. That said, there isn't really anything worthy to show off really unless you want to see a bunch of studies lmao, but here's some of my old art anyways! Again, far from professional, but as Bob Ross says: "Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you're willing to practice, you can do."
14. Which of your muses is the easiest to get along with? Which one is the hardest?
Out of the current roster, Peach Blossom is probably the easiest and Strawberry Crepe the hardest! Almost anyone could get along with Peach Blossom honestly. It's actually a little funny that he was in Dark Cacao's story, the cookie with the least trust for strangers ( though his distrust is understandable, especially with what he went through in Beast-Yeast. ) Strawberry Crepe being the hardest to bond with is also ironic, given that they are actually lonely and do desire the company of others ( despite acting like they don't. )

I don't hate Amen but I have no idea how his brain supposed to work around Eva. I get that he's supposed to be Dragan/Lucifer type of character but uuhhhhh......🤷♀️. I'm not really sure if Amen were really sidelined in SOTCN (I don't think so) but do his fans recognized his horrible sadistic tendency??? I understand he's had childhood trauma but I don't think that's an excuse for his behaviour? Lane from HS:R suffers from abandonment issue. Lou (PSI) lost her dad when she's still young and almost SA'd by her stepdad when she was barely a teen. Nova (W:TC) with the whole conditioning from the Church. It's one thing to recognize character's flaws and still liking them but it's another thing to defend their wrongdoings like it never really happened. I can understand the arguments with Lane and Lou (Lane acting sus the whole season 1 and Lou running away from LIs in the ending), but with Amen? Idk. Am I missing something? Anyone can elaborate pls?? That would be nice. Thanks.
wtc, psi, hsr spoilers in ask //
sorry for the late reply! but please make sure to mention if they are spoilers in your ask. i haven't read psi and wtc yet.
amen is not sidelined lmaooo. and yes he did enjoy torturing dia. i don't understand why his fans feel the need to justify his crimes and make him seem like a good person bc it's okay to like a character who's morally grey or just plain bad. there's no need for the mental gymnastics but this same mess has been recycled to hell and back so just think whatever you want atp.
and yes me too. idrc about amen or sotcn anymore bc it's devolved into the particular messiness remy brings to her stories mid s2 where there are twenty different subplots going on at the same time, but i did romance him. i was drawn to the forbidden love aspect but his route is just wasted potential. we could've seen some grappling with his loyalty to his duty/the squad vs his love for eva, but instead we get him lusting after her anytime we're in his head. they had some cute scenes (the drawing scene, amen taking care of eva after ismam's death) but overall it's just not my thing anymore. he had the potential to a complex well written character but i'm not feeling anything.

Okay, so. I'm going to say a bit more on this, because I usually am very hesitant to lob such accusations at literature.
I'm still not intending to argue that BNHA is intentionally fascist and everyone who likes it is supporting fascism. Not even close. Still just saying it does have those elements.
But, for work and given current, uh, political events in my country, I have recently been reading Umberto Eco's "Ur-Fascism." I highly recommend it for current events. Eco grew up in Mussolini's Italy and is a well-reknowned novelist and philosopher.
There's a list in the essay of 14 elements of "Ur-fascism." Eco notes that these points are often contradictory, and no BNHA is not endorsing all of them. Again, I don't think it's a deliberately fascist text. But the reason I am using that word to criticize elements of the ending is because of something else Eco says:
it is enough that one of them be present to allow fascism to coagulate around it.
Hence, I want to draw attention to one in particular:
In such a perspective everybody is educated to become a hero. In every mythology the hero is an exceptional being, but in Ur-Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death. It is not by chance that a motto of the Falangists was Viva la Muerte (in English it should be translated as “Long Live Death!”). In non-fascist societies, the lay public is told that death is unpleasant but must be faced with dignity; believers are told that it is the painful way to reach a supernatural happiness. By contrast, the Ur-Fascist hero craves heroic death, advertised as the best reward for a heroic life. The Ur-Fascist hero is impatient to die. In his impatience, he more frequently sends other people to death.
No, "heroes" here don't inherently align with the superhero fantasy or its tropes. No, superhero fantasies are not inherently fascist or wrong. They've been around since the beginning of time and people love them for a reason. No, sacrificial death and "everyone and anyone can be a hero" are not inherently bad tropes.
But, BNHA does laud this exact thing when it once criticized this exact thing.
When your work swerves into "kill people to protect others even if they haven't yet done a crime," when it is Literally about a school where children are trained and used in war and taught to sacrifice their lives (but don't worry they're good so they are fine in the end), when the actual work itself has drawn attention to these two things as something negative and then gone back around and portrayed it as no big deal, yeah, I think you might want to consider what the message of what you're sending is.
You can't make your initial problem (hero society) which has its good and its bad the solution without changing anything.
If your initial problem is literally a centralized educational facility that tells every young person, "you can be a hero" (which is itself a good thing) and uses that to ignore their individuality and compassion to fall in line with the system, you have a problem. Especially when "falling in line" looks like either sacrificing your life or sacrificing the different, good elements of your character (like Deku's belief that he doesn't want to have to kill Shigaraki).
In comparison to, say, Harry Potter or AoT, both of which have their own problematic elements but are strong stories, you have this directly criticized and not upheld. Gabi and Falco and Mikasa get to live normal lives instead of sacrificing constantly. Harry does sacrifice himself, but notably he goes outside the centralized education system to do so (the teachers all tell him not to, and while Dumbledore plans for it, Snape opposes it, which is why Snape is so elemental to the themes). Even Naruto's major resolution as a story is a fight outside of society, not within.
the notion that bnha is pro authoritarianism or social hierarchies is nonsensical not to mention acting like being pro cop is bad
Err... BNHA is pretty pro-authoritarian. I actually find it pretty disturbing. And that's even if the story turns out with the League alive at the end.
As for being pro-cop--cops are human individuals, yes. But people have in recent years in multiple countries (including Japan, by the way) protested against cops being used as tools to maintain social hierarchies wherein people who are not part of that hierarchy suffer for daring to want to be treated as human beings. When I say I'm anti-cop, I'm not saying I hate anyone on the basis of being a cop. But I am saying that the ways in which the police force are used in many countries does societal harm. Critical thinking, yo.
Honestly I feel like this whole story (BNHA) and fans reactions throughout (especially when compared to other stories) demonstrate how people are not using critical thinking. And that can have real world consequences, though it doesn't have to.
I just find it weird that people are okay with a story where the ruling class is always right and always wins. Like... how have they not? I mean, even stories that end up suggesting the ruling class isn't entirely wrong or show flaws in rebellions generally don't go hard on the authoritarianism. But Horikoshi... is doing this.
The whole thing is so weird to me personally, too, because Horikoshi's wishy-washy framing and switches in coding generally seem to be the result of him caring, deeply, what his audience thinks and feels. Too much, really, but it also seems like he genuinely doesn't want to hurt people. Except this ending--even if Tenko does reappear as New Character and saves the League--is the exact opposite. (If Tenko doesn't reappear, then everything I'm about to say is multiplied by a thousand.)
It's catering to mean-spiritedness, and while I do understand fiction isn't reality, the side he's catering to now is making the argument that fictional crimes are real crimes and thus must meet real penalties.
I can play this game too.
If people are gonna make those arguments, I'm going to say they're the problem and the reason we have wars, genocides, assaults, and more.
If you ever want a cycle of violence/abuse to stop, someone has to accept that they've taken the last punch. Not keep going until the other side is WIPED OUT.
If you equate justice with equalizing losses, then you are enacting Dazai from BSD's statement on justice: justice is a weapon. You can never heal by it.
If you want to heal, you have to stop fighting and bandage wounds. And maybe you are too injured to do the bandaging. That's okay. But someone else can, and if you try to stop them on the premise of "but no one bandaged my wounds" you're a bitter person who makes the world a worser place.
If you say a tragedy is the story, sure. But you have to set up tragedies from the start. See, Attack on Titan, which's ending I love. It began with someone crying and an ominous message to the future. You don't set up your first chapter with "this is the story of how I become the greatest hero!" spend 200+ chapters criticizing hero society and have the hero fail at the goal he'd been repeating for 200 chapters in the end and join hero society and still think you wrote a story that delivered in what you promised. You failed.
Either you wrote a tragedy and are trying to pass it off as a happy story (see how well that works usually) or your understanding of a happy story is pretty much just fascist propaganda. And yes, BNHA does have fascist themes at this point. Way more than AoT ever did. But they have smiles and cute frog girls so it's not nearly as dangerous, right? (sarcastic).
The thing is, this is where the lack of critical thinking comes in. While I've seen people talk a bit about how BNHA seems like copaganda, it's taking things much, much further than other stories usually do and into territory where I'm frankly disturbed.
Yes, BNHA started out as a clever critique of hero society and of the very idea it's now seeming to uphold: that the human instinct (which is universal in real life to) to idolize people leads to a lack of humanity for those who do not have those traits we idolize, whether their fault or not, and for people to become villains in response. But not only has it failed to deliver on this premise by upholding society (hey, Naruto and to a degree Tokyo Ghoul also failed to completely change society), it's gone so far as to endorse what it previously criticized.
It's more akin to Game of Thrones Season 8 upholding racism, sexism, and classism, than it is to Naruto or Tokyo Ghoul. GoT ended with a joke about prioritizing brothels being open, as if the misogyny was actually a good thing and not what caused a lot of the problems. There's no critical lens here. It's just like "hey, there was no point in struggling. Monarchies that abuse women, rah rah, let's go!"
BNHA seems to be going a similar route. Deku's murder of Shigaraki, Ochaco's crying over Toga, the way Shouto reaches out to Touya--it's sad, but not framed as something the audience should see as a wrong done on behalf of heroes. In fact, the heroes are not criticized at all. Frickin' Edgeshot, whom no one cares about, is fine. All of them are fine. Their statuses are generally fine, too, except maybe Enji's and even then he's not like going to face the fate of the League and die alone. His family still supports him. Hawks is completely fine and framed positively. His regret over Twice is pure lipservice. Deku really did just need to kill Shigaraki, and all his "I want to save" spiel, much like Ochaco's, is for naught. He just needed to learn to grow up and get in line.
Even if Tenko comes back, and even if Deku like... somehow knew this would happen via vestiges or whatnot (let's be real, he will if this is the case), and the message is just that society isn't ready to move forward, but at least they can live, then... I don't know, y'all. That's still depressing. I don't see how Deku is a hero for that, much less the greatest number one hero. He decided to be a hero at the cost of his own integrity, and if this was a gritty story about the realistic struggle of living in a capitalistic society where ethics are always compromised that would make sense, but... it's not. Even until the final battle, the characters were endorsing idealism.
At the very least, Horikoshi didn't deliver on his promise in the first chapter. At the very worst, he's endorsing fascist ideals.
Like, I'm sorry, but "kill this person for the good of society," the violent upholding of oppressive societal hierarchies, the importance of being a cop hero and the way the military hero brutalities are worshipped, the way heroes are lauded and everyone who doesn't get in line with this is punished, went from being criticized to being endorsed. Those are all central elements of fascism.
The little guy deserves to lose, but, but Deku is the little guy, so it can't be! Except it can be. Because it's actually pretty common irl even to trot out examples of people like Candace Owens to be like "hey, you can't possibly say Republicans are racist!"
And don't you dare say "but Japanese culture makes it unreasonable to expect a non retributive justice!" The Japanese people are not a monolith. Not to mention... Naruto, Bungou Stray Dogs, Monster, Hunter x Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho, Mawaru Penguindrum, Oshi no Ko, Dragon Ball, Attack on Titan, and Tokyo Ghoul all say hi.
I hated the TG ending, and still hate it, but I'm not going to say that it upheld the CCG as right all along because it didn't. BNHA thus far is doing that with hero society. And even if the answer is for the League be revived and to leave society or whatever, then how can we be happy Deku is a part of this society? How can we root for him, or his classmates? Is he going to work from the inside to change it? Why wasn't that emphasized beforehand as a theme or struggle?
tl;dr Horikoshi has cooked his story no matter what he does now, and I don't think it's salvageable. Either way it has themes that are disturbing especially considering real world events across the globe, and that people should be more aware of instead of focusing solely on stories that have fascism and monsters in them but don't uphold it.

Hello, Sugar cubes. I have gotten sucked into twisted wonderland, figuring out college and work. I am so tired. Anyways, here's a little something from the notes. This was written before the other SK! Mattsun piece, jsyk
CW: The horny goblin wanted blood and it got it, smut, SK! Mattsun, established relationship, mentions of homicide, knife play, violence, dubcon bc he didn't really ask but reader is into it.
Argument spree
The news played in the background as I went through and edited page after page for this new book.
"According to investigators, this is connected to a recent but unsettlingly long string of crimes around the area. Detectives say that although the victims are barely anything alike, they all have one thing in common: All of them look to be crimes of passion, a small heart drawn on the back of their right hand..." I opted to stop listening after that, reaching for the remote to turn the TV off as I kept scanning over my writing. My eyes didn't fail to miss the small heart bracelet around my right wrist, a gift. I roll my eyes after a while and sigh, unable to focus on my revisions.
"Dammit." I get up and grab a drink from the fridge, going up to the shared bedroom to lay in wait. Being in love with a serial killer is not too much different from a normal relationship, minus police snooping every now and then. Arguments are just as common and after this most recent one, he's opted to go on the quickest spree I've seen, changing up to avoid normal suspicion, but knowing that I would see it. He's been gone for about a week, but has already managed to kill 9 people. I stare up at the ceiling until I dose off, *maybe a nice nap will help me get back in an editing mood*.
A hand clasps itself around my neck, immediately waking me but squeezing before I can make a sound. "***Don't. make. a sound.***" I know the voice, but because I'm on my side, I can't see the face, though the familiar hand on my throat is enough confirmation. Matsukawa presses his hips into mines, grinding as his other hand makes its way up my shirt, feeling slick and cold.
"I'm kinda upset, baby. It's been almost a week and you haven't even said a word to me. No calls, not a text, nothing. Are you still that mad at me, love?" He shifts so he's over me, releasing his hold on my throat.
"I'm not the one who started that argument, nor am I the one who went and had a murderous tantrum." I glare up at him only to have my gaze interrupted by my shirt as he forces it over my head, pulling at my pants after, feeling his hands still slick in the dimly lit room. "Is there literally blood on your hands right now?!" I asked after fully coming to my senses as he forces my pants off of me, tossing them with my shirt as I take in the fact that he has on nothing but his boxers.
"Yes, and?. I was still mad before I decided to come back so I went and carved up a girl like a fresh baked ham. Don't be jealous tho, babe, I brought back your favorite knife." He smiled as he reached over and grabbed the switch blade he took ehen he left and pressed the tip to my collarbone. I stiffen under him as he drags it across my upper chest, free hand pulling off the remaining clothes and discarding them. He pressed the tip of the knife into my skin just enough to draw blood before he attached his mouth to the wound. "1. You're absolutely disgusting for sucking my blood and smearing someone else's blood all over me, you sick fuck." I sigh as he kisses up from my collar to the center of my throat, groaning against my skin. "And 2. You killed 10 people in less than 7 days. You're nothing but evil... And it's hot, even though it shouldn't be."
He chuckled against the skin and bit into the center of my throat before moving over as I whined. He's careful with the knife as he moves my legs so that the back of my knees rest on his shoulders, pushing down his boxers as to grind himself against me skin to skin. His hand still slick, he moves it up to play with my breast, the other moving the knife behind my thigh, eyes daring me to squirm the wrong way and slice myself. "Cmon, stop teasin', Issei. You leave for a week and then come back, slather me in someone's blood and then wanna tease. That's not fa- ahh!" He cuts off middle sentence, the harsh thrust shifting me upwards.
"You're right, I'm just being mean at this point." His smile is sadistic as he sets a ,
harsh pace, pressing himself and my thighs against my chest. He buries his head into the other side of my neck, the knife sharp and more precise than one would think as he presses it into my skin, cutting slice after slice into the backs of my thighs. I squeal and mew under him, eyes glossy with tears as I squeeze around him, making him groan and bite my neck. I reach up and grab onto him, digging my nails into his back, feeling the blood from the back of my thighs trail down his chest.
"Fuck~ fuck, Issei, please~" he pulls away from my neck to press his lips to my ear.
"Say you're mines, darling. Say you belong to me." His voice has a gentle tone of desperation, his hands let go of the knife in favor of gripping the front of my thighs to pull my lower half closer to his. The pain forces a broken moan from me as I fist the sheets at my sides, tears streaming from the corner of my eyes.
"I'm yours, Issei! Only yours, I swear." I babble out as his hips speed up, the sounds and feeling much wetter than normal, though my mind is too mushy to care. My back arches as I whine and keen beneath him, gushing around him as he soon follows, stilling as he grunts and fills me completely. He pulls away so I can properly see his face, giving me a gentle kiss as he moves a hand to cup my face. "I really do love you, you know?" I ask with the softest voice I can, completely tired and limp under him. He chuckles and sits up to put my legs down, his movements slow and gentle.
"I know, and I love you too. Now, how about I clean you up and then we cuddle?" I nod as I watch him disappear into the bathroom, still feeling lucky as ever.

I haven't played TGAA, but I find the double standard in the way Barok is treated vs the way Miles, Fran and the rest of them are treated kind of strange. Barok is supposedly insufferable, plus he's racist and xenophobic. I ain't excusing that, but that's just how 19th century England was.
Miles and Fran have most likely sent innocent people to jail or even landed them the death penalty, simply because they cared more about securing a guilty verdict than actual justice. Godot is a literal murderer, and I've heard some unpleasant things about Simon and Nahyuta as well.
Yet, all (or most of) these characters are redeemed. Barok's biggest crime is...upholding the views of everyone else at the time. And that somehow makes him irredeemable, despite him actually warming up to Ryonosuke later. I'm not saying everyone should like Barok, but if Barok is irredeemable, so is every other prosecutor in AA.
This has been pretty much my point ever since they announced GAA's localization.
Barok is obnoxious, that is undeniable. Nipponese this, Eastern island that, his mocking of Ryuu easily crosses a line that leaves the player uncomfortable, as it should, because if his xenophobia doesn't bother you it says more about you than about the game.
But. Being obnoxious is all he does.
He does not present forged evidence, or use loopholes in court, or coach witnesses, like Edgeworth and Franziska used to do.
He's never ever physically violent against the defense, unlike Franziska, Godot, Simon or Nahyuta - he breaks his own glasses and bottles when frustrated, but he never harms anyone. (it says something that the entire series so far had only three prosecutors who are decent human beings)
His objective as a prosecutor is simply to find the truth. While he pushes very hard to prove the guilt of the defendant, it's clear that it's because he genuinely believes in his case - once Ryuu manages to convince him his theory makes sense, Barok drops most of his hostility and helps him. Unlike Edgeworth pre-heel face turn and Franziska, he couldn't care less about his own record, which means that he never deliberately gambled with the lives of potentially innocent people for his own ego. He is biased towards Ryuu, not only because he's Japanese but also because Barok admits to personally taking his cases even if they're banal, but he's not completely driven by a petty grudge like Godot - like I said, he'll help Ryuu win if he does a good enough job in his book, no matter his personal feelings towards his learned Japanese friend.
Both he and Edgeworth post-heel face turn share the same goal of finding the truth. However, Edgeworth has hurt at least one person in his quest, infamously Adrian Andrews when he threatened to reveal her mental illness in court and even said "if you kill yourself, that is no concern of mine". Compare this with Barok, who has shown himself capable of kindness as soon as his second appearance, when he (spoilers for Case 4 of GAA) subtly implied he would allow Roly Beate to keep his job despite tampering with the crime scene, because he could empathize with the poor man wanting to spend one day with his wife.
He's genuinely competent in his job, relying simply on cold hard logic to dismantle the defense's arguments as a good prosecutor should - to be honest, it may be the different writers, but Klavier, Simon and Nahyuta never struck me as being especially good at their job, with Klavier having to deal with a rather incompetent Apollo in AJ and Simon and Nayhuta happily abusing the old "attacking the defense" and "asking evidence for every word you say" tricks. (to be fair Simon gets to demonstrate his interesting manipulative skills in one case... Turnabout Storyteller, when he's Athena's ally. Also, I can't remember anything particularly horrible he does beyond being an ass like usual, in fact he may be the best prosecutor of the second trilogy)
Speaking of Nahyuta, the reasons I can't stand him while I love Barok are that Nahyuta is nothing but repetitive, unwitty, painfully realistic obnoxiousness propped up by a shallow twist revealed at the tail-end of the game; he has no real character development, because "sowwy guys i was good all along" is not development; he prosecutes simply to win even if it means insisting that a young girl committed murder in spite of the defense's reasonable arguments; there is no in-game justification for shit like him tormenting Athena in Japanifornia, or even him being an asshole in Japanifornia at all; and there's no weight in the realization that he let hundreds of innocent people being sentenced to death while he stood aside to protect his sister (like, that has got to mess you up a bit right? Can you show me that, game?). Barok not only has a much more fleshed out, drawn out backstory that explains most of his behavior (although I have my reservations at tying his racism to One Trauma); not only he slowly (... very slowly) warms up to Ryuu; not only he has humanizing traits like feeling horrible about being branded the Reaper of the Old Bailey, like it would happen to anyone being rumored to be a death bringer; but he is, most important of all, an overdramatic bitch and the contrast between his intimidating demeanor and the shit he pulls behind the bench is infinitely more hilarious than being told for the umpteenth time that you're a putrid lawyer who's going to hell. It doesn't sound like much, but a good AA game masters the art of "love to hate".
You know how Klavier is a base-breaking prosecutor because some consider him too nice? Barok is what happens when you take Klavier's honest, well-meaning demeanor and give him enough presence to be hated and loved at the same time. I completely understand if people find him too annoying (he's testing my own patience lmao), but I still think he is one of the best prosecutors in the series, both as a job and as the role of the rival.

word count : 4000+
warnings : mutual pining, gender neutral reader, relationship insecurities, bakugo tries but. . .it doesn't go as well as he planned, grammar errors and spelling errors, it's . . . a long one, a bit rushed at the end so uhh pls don't mind that :)
parts : [ 𝐈 ] [ 𝐈𝐈 ] [ 𝐈𝐈𝐈 ]
a/n : so sorry for the long wait LMAO- i know i said my bokuto fic would be coming out today but uhhh ahaha my depression hit me full force this weekend and i didn't even look at the dock because i was too busy sleeping, but uhh enjoy this :D
↩︎ back to student masterlist | main mha masterlist
- WELCOME TO PART THREE sorry for the log wait 😭 life has been kicking my ass but we're not here to hear me complain, we're here for the tea
- so, it's a couple months after you joined the bakusquad and their relationship. and let me tell you, it has been nothing but amazing. 😩 your days are never quiet and they're always filled with some sort of excitement and love.
- you kaminari and mina often get into trouble for leaving the dorms late at night because you want snacks and there's nothing in the kitchens. you become kirishima's pillow, don't matter about your size or whatever, you are his pillow and you better not argue 🔫 sero always puts on some type of bachata or reggaeton or some spanish song and dances with you in his dorms. and bakugo is your go to person to cook with and just generally annoy or prank since it's so easy to get a reaction out of him.
- and you couldn't have asked for a better relationship. you all are so communicative and talk about your feelings often and how you're doing. every saturday or sunday, you all go to a dorm (usually it's bakugo's cause it's the cleanest) and have a huge cuddle pile and talk about your mental states, how you're doing, what you have problems with, etc etc.
- like damn ok i see you with the mentally and emotionally stable relationship 🤪🤪
- it's so refreshing too because sometimes you'll have a tough week and you jsut need to let it all out, and you can in the comfort of bakugo's dorm and you know none of them will judge you because they're all so open about their love for you (and vise versa)
- anyways, yeah y'all got the best relationship
- you never thought about anyone else in a romantic sense because the squad took up nearly all of the space in your heart. but when you teacher announced one day the general studies kids would be coming in to have a joint project to create gadgets for the hero course students, you had no idea your life would suddenly be turned upsidedown.
- you were paired with a guy named shinsou. he looked friendly enough and returned the wave you sent him with a little surprise as he made his way to the open seat next to you. he seemed surprised when you started a small conversation but he talked to you in a quiet soothing voice. he seemed nice enough and you figured the project would be a breeze since he seemed so nice and offered to meet up over the weekend to start up some ideas for the project.
- you agreed and the two of you met up that lunch period in the library to pre-draft some ideas and get to know each other more.
"i'm surprised you don't mind being seen with me."
his sudden comment took you by surprise as you looked up from your paper with messily drawn gadgets and chicken scratch writing to look up at him, "what do you mean?"
it was true you had never seen him before or even heard of him, but his hesitance to talk to you and open up to you made you feel as though you should.
shinsou rubbed the back of his neck and looked away shyly, "so you really haven't heard anything about me, have you?"
he looked almost guilty to bring it up, his gaze falling to the table in front of him as be played with a strand of his hair.
you shook your head. you never really payed attention to gossip around school, your head always too high up in the clouds to care about rumors and gossip (bakugo often scolded you for being such an airhead and ignorant to your surroundings, but you knew he was just worried about something happening to you). plus, to you, gossip was nearly never right and more often made up and fictitious.
shinsou refused to look up at you, "well. . .i'm known throughout the school as a. . ." he looked hesitant to continue but before you could reassure him he didn't have to talk about it if he didn't want to, he continued, "well, a villain."
he prised his lips as if the words left a bitter taste in his mouth, and all you could do was tilt your head. shinsou didn't seem like a bad person - or a 'villain' as he had said. on the way to the library he held open doors for you and helped you carry some of your books to your locker and even bought you a drink you wanted buy but were a bit short of change on.
"do you think you are?"
"what?" shinsou looked at you for the first time since he brought up the topic.
"do you think you're a villain?" he shuffled slightly in his seat and looked away again from your intense stare. he felt like you were looking straight into his soul from how strongly you were looking into his eyes, he wasn't sure if you had even blinked in the last minute.
shinsou thought back to all the times he's been called a villain or a criminal. it was always unwarranted, a passing comment that seemed like no big deal to others but shattered his heart into smaller and smaller pieces. but never once had he ever thought he was a villain - a monster.
if anything, he used those comments as encouragement to become a hero, to be better than those who always thought he would turn to a life of crime. so, "no... i don't think i'm a villain."
"well, that's that."
shinsou could only stare at you, your smile brighter than any star he'd ever seen, so full of hope and encouragement shinsou felt like he could take on the world. he looked away and rubbed the back of his neck, a shy smile pulling at his lips and a weird feeling blossoming in his chest. how curious. . .
- so yeah, a new friendship 🤪 the two of you started to spend a lot of free time together for the project. you would often meet up during lunches or free time between classes to work some more on the project, all the while getting to know each other in depth. you learned many things about shinsou and spilled many of your own secrets, you laughed together over old childhood stories, and played animal crossing on the rooftop during lunch, your project discarded and forgotten beside you.
- your sudden absence didn't go unnoticed by your lovers, and they grew curious to your whereabouts when you would blow them off for the fifth time that week to "work on your project". now, don't get me wrong, they had conplete trust in you and knew you would never cheat, but they were just curious as to what - or who - was taking up so much of your time.
- so, they did the smartest thing, and followed you. after blowing them off for the sixth time, they decided to follow you to your destination. mina and kaminari tried to be inconspicuous and wear disguises, but the fake mustache, black glasses (indoors, might i add) and hat weren't all too discreet as they thought.
- they followed you through every turn and weave you took and hid behind a corner when you stopped at a vending machine to get your favourite drink. but what surprised them the most was you also bought a coffee. bakugo was most surprised you even thought about even touching the can of caffine because he remembered you telling him you would get terrible caffine rushes that would make you dizzy if you drank coffee.
- but, as you finally reached the rooftop and made your way to a hunched over figure in the corner, it all made sense.
- they all saw how effortlessly you and shinsou acted around each other. they could see the soft looks he would send you when you weren't looking and the way his hand would hover over yours for a split second too long before snapping away as if you were made of lava. but surprisingly, they didn't feel any sort of jealousy or anger, it felt like a piece of them had returned they didn't even know was missing. the sort of feeling that walks through the door unexpectedly but it's wholesomely welcomed.
- the "oh, there you are, welcome back" type of feeling. they were happy you had found someone that made you feel comfortable, arguably more comfortable than you had been with them so far because truthfully, while you had felt welcomed and appreciated in the relationship, it still felt like you were an outsider. the five of them had inside jokes before you came and didn't get them when they came up, the five of them had habits special to each other that inadvertently excluded you. and while they never meant to hurt you (god knows that's the last thing they ever wanted to do), they had. but you knew that wasn't their intention so you held no malitious feelings towards them (not that you think you'd ever could).
- but the way you and shinsou so effortlessly opened up to each other, shared intimate details and secrets with each other - it warmed their hearts. so, bakugo grabbed them all by the back of their shirts and dragged them away, mumbling about giving the two of you space. there was a fond look in his eyes as he looked at the two of you he would be teased about later but would deny.
- it was undeniable bakugo held the softest spot for you. he tried as best as he could to include you in their inside jokes and habits but he was. . well . . . bakugo 🧍🏽♀️
- words aren't necessarily his strong suit and he could only hope his smaller actions let you know you were as loved and cherished as any of them there. and you knew, you caught on a little after bakugo had a little "secret talk" with the group (that wasn't really secret at all, he grabbed them all by their shirts and dragged them to a secluded spot while you distracted on your phone) and they all started to explain their jokes and include you in their habits.
- anyways, back to you and shinsou. 🤪 he was aware you were in a ployamorous relationship with the bakusquad and he's heard the way you talk about them and the soft airy tone of your voice and the starry look in your eyes; and he didn't want to get in between that. the last thing he ever wanted was to ruin your relationship for his own selfish reasons.
- so for the time being, he would be okay with watching you from afar, the sweetness of your love so close for him to taste; yet too far for him to savour.
- as more and more times passed, the bakusquad began to notice the lingering looks you would give shinsou when you passed him in the halls and how he would always be waiting for you outside of your class with your favourite drink before leaving you to go to lunch while he went off and . . . well, you weren't sure what he did during his free time, but he never brought it up so you never figured to ask.
- when you fell asleep the next time you all had a cuddle session in bakugo's room, they all talked about it. talked about your obvious feelings for each other and the possibility of including shinsou in their relationship. they spent hours talking about it and still talked about it even when the moon vanished over the horizon and the sun rose. and, in not very smart fashion, bakugo was tasked to confronting shinsou about their conclusion.
- which - almost as if there were an author behind all of this - didn't go as well as any of them planned.
it was perfect, really. almost as if the universe had been listening to their conversation and aligned itself perfectly for this very moment.
you woke up that morning with a terrible stomach ache and chose to stay back in your dorm after bakugo made you a bowl of soup and threatened you to take your medicine. his classes ended a little earlier than usual and, sending his lover's a nod, made his way over to your class, where, lo and behold, shinsou was standing near the door, the familiar brand of your favourite drink in one hand and his own cold coffee in the other.
bakugo wasn't sure what he was going to say when he reached shinsou. he opted to just speak from the heart over rehearsing lines with the others like they had wanted, besides, what kind of lover would be be if he couldn't even do this for you? but, what he didn't take into consideration, was his emotional constipation and tsundere attidute.
"hey, eye bags!" bakugo called out.
shinsou nearly jumped out of his skin at bakugo's sudden loud voice. he looked over with the same eyes of indifference he normally had, but bakugo could see the slight far in them. not at his brash attitude (shinsou could never be afriad of bakugo and confronting him before the sports fesitval was a perfect example of that) but the fear of ruining your relationship with the bakusquad.
shinsou nodded at bakugo when he got close enough. bakugo stood in front of him, his hands still shoved into the pockets of his pants, "they're sick."
it was a simple enough statement but shinsou blinked, "what?"
"y/n." bakugo stated and rolled his eyes as if the answer had been written on his forehead (and it basically had, shinsou was just a bit shocked at his appearance), "they're sick and mina's staying back with them in their dorm."
shinsou rubbed the back of his neck, "oh."
there was an awkward silence as the two boys stood in the vacant hallway. bakugo didn't know what to say and shinsou wasn't sure if he should leave or go visit you for their lunch break.
"i'll go drop this off to them-"
"no." bakugo practically growled, "i'll drop it off. go get eat your lunch or i'll make your face an eye bag."
shinsou flushed a bit in embarrassment. he was overstepping, of course he was. for a minute, having you all to himself for nearly a week straight made him forget about the relationship you were in and this was a smack of reality. you weren't his. you were in a relationship with others, other people who could give you nearly double what he could - everything he couldn't.
handing bakugo the drink, shinsou stalked away to the cafeteria, his cheeks still a light shade of pink. bakugo sighed and knew he most likely made things worse, and he came there originally to make things right.
but fate will work itself out. and what will be, will be.
- so... maybe sending bakugo wasn't the best idea ... 🧍🏽♀️
- because now, shinsou started avoiding you. when the two for you worked on your projects together, he would remain mostly silent and only input his opinion when he thought of an idea or needed help putting something together. you had no idea why and you honestly felt a little hurt that he ignored you as easily as breathing.
- you brought this up to your lovers on your weekly cuddle session, knowing they would have brought up your downpour attitude either way. what you didn't notice as your face was burried in denki's sweater were the glares they all were throwing at bakugo.
- "yeah, i wonder what happened..." sero smiled, though obviously strained, as he pet your head and told you shinsou was probably just going through something.
- and it was obvious you were hurt that shinsou had suddenly stopped talking to you because honestly it was kind of hard for you to make friends. a lot of people assumed you thought you were higher than everyone else because you were dating five students from the top hero course, but that obviously is far from the truth.
- anyways, a long time goes by and the two of you still haven't rekindled anything and the squad is getting a bit frustrated because hello??? join our cult lover circle ?????
- so the squad comes up with another solution and this time they don't send bakugo to collect shinsou
- they learned their mistake last time.
- anyways
- so sero goes and gets shinsou and tells him you need him for a little last touch of the project since it was near the due date and you wanted to make sure it was perfect. and shinsou agrees to meet up with you and follows sero.
- sero takes him into an empty classroom and it's pitch black. the windows have been covered with tape and all the lights are off. before he could ask what the hell was going on, the door slams shut and the lights suddenly turn on and shinsou's blinded for a moment.
- and he's met with a very interesting sight.
- mina, kaminari, and kirishima are standing in front of him with sunglasses and hats on, their arms are crossed and they have a blank look on their faces (though he can tell kaminari is about to burst into laughter and nearly does but kirishima jabs him in his side.)
- "uhh..."
- "shut up, eye bags." bakugo calls from behind him. he's leaning against the door with his arms crossed and an obviously pissed off look on his face.
- sero is just standing next to him with a 'sorry pal' kind of smile.
- "what is-"
- "what are your intentions with, y/n?" kaminari shouted suddenly as he slammed his hand on a nearby desk.
- "denki- no." mina pushed him back lightly, "that's not what-"
- "did you not listen last night, sparky?" bakugo rolled his eyes and scoffed lightly.
- kaminari shyly scratched his cheek, "i might have fellen asleep-"
- "he did." sero confirmed, "he drooled on me and everything.
- "I do not drool!!"
- "yes you do, it was like a waterfall, 'ki. "
- "no i don't, right kiri?"
- "well.. only a few drops.."
- "WHAT?! and none of you told me?!"
- "well, y/n kind of made us promise not to tell..."
- "SPEAKING OF Y/N," mina interjected into the conversation, her fingers rubbing at her temples as she wondered when she became the rational one, that was bakugo's job, "why don't we stick to the script, boys."
- kirishima slung an arm over her shoulder and pressed a kiss to her cheek, "sorry, princess."
- "right." sero turned to shinsou and crossed his arms, "you have feelings for them don't you?"
- shinsou tensed. his mind was still trying to comprehend the conversation that happened just a few seconds ago and processing the fact that kaminari drools in his sleep. he wasn't sure how to respond.
- of course he had feelings for you, any rational person who came into contact with you would catch feelings. it was part of your natural charm that seemed to effortlessly draw people in and never let them go. in a matter of minutes, you had simultaneously become his best friend and his closest confidant. often at night he cursed himself for catching feelings for you when things were perfect just the way they were.
- but shinsou couldn't help it. you had treated him like a normal person and weren't apprehensive about his quirk. you gave him a taste of normalcy in his world of anxieties and judgement, and he craved more and more the more time he spent with you.
- so dispte wanting to desparately scream 'yes, i do love her' at the top of his lungs, he looked down at the ground, "no. . . i . . i don't."
- "liar."
- bakugo seethed behind him.
- shoving himself off the wall he was leaning on, bakugo walked closer and closer to shinsou as he spoke, "don't lie. we all see the way you look at them, the way your stupid face lights up with a small smile when they're with you or the airy chuckle you give when they do one of those stupid dances when they make food and-"
- "OK OK I GET IT!" shinsou snapped. mina jumped slightly in kirishima's arms and shinsou sent her a small apologetic look, "you know! I'm in love with them! i've been. . ." he trailed off before collapsing into a chair behind him, his head hanging back and staring into the bright flourescent lights hanging from the ceiling.
- "i've been trying to distance myself from them, to make getting over them easier."
- "they've been hurting, y'know."
- shinsou groaned and hid his face in his hands, "i know. you think i don't see the looks they give me when i avoid them in the halls? it hurts knowing i'm the reason they're in pain."
- "so why are you doing it?"
- "because they have you guys," shinsou sighed as it if we're the most obvious thing in the world, "you all could love them a lot more than i ever could alone. plus, they're so happy with you, i couldn't be the reason to disturb that."
- "you gotta be fucking kidding me." bakugo growled and pinched the bridge of his nose.
- kaminari snorted, "i think i just got deja vu."
- "you could say that again," mina sighed, "i'm heading back to the dorms, this is giving me a headache."
- with his arm still slung over her shoulder, kirishima agreed, "yeah, not sure how we didn't see this from the beginning. i'll walk you back, princess."
- shinsou only stared blankly as mina and kirishima left the room with kaminari in tow, complaining about getting some math work done. never in his life did he feel as confused as he did now
- lost. mans was lost..
- someone get him a map and help him please
- they acted as if they hadn't been the ones to literally kidnap him
- only to nonchalantly walk out the door?????
- sero's voice snapped him back to the remaining two people in the room, "you two really are a match made in heaven." sero smiled at him and shinsou felt head rise in his cheeks, whether it be from embarassment or something else, he didn't know.
- "i'll see you two around" and then he left, leaving shinsou alone with bakugo, who had yet to realease the bridge of his nose from his pinch.
- "you're both a pair of dumbasses."
- "i'm offended-"
- "y/n said the same fucking thing when we confronted them."
- shinsou stayed silent.
- "they felt like their presence would ruin the routine we had set a long time ago when we first started our relationship. . . sound familiar?"
- shinsou rubbed the back of his neck and opened his mouth to speak, but bakugo interrupted.
- "shut up, eye bags, i'm not finished."
- "i dIdNt eVEn sAy aNyTHiNg"
- "sure there were some things we had to adjust to include them in our schedule and a whole new bundle of emotions to incorporate into our lives; but the while point of a relationship is to open up slowly and learn to trust the ones you love. and eventually, we all learned to trust them the same way they learned to trust us; but trust isn't something you can learn over night. it's gradual."
- bakugo sighed, how in the hell did he get stuck in this situation again. at the very least no one got injured this time, "what I'm trying to say is, if y/n makes you happy, then we're all willing to let you in our relationship and put our trust in you.
- "will you put your trust in us?"
- how dramatic ˙ ͜ʟ˙
- so
- :) shinsou decides, fuck it. i deserve the good things in life, and he puts his trust in the squad the same way they all put their trust in him.
- and they decided it was a good time to surprise you too and kill two birds with one stone :)
- so you walk in to bakugo's dorm after a long day of school. you were returning from turning in your project with shinsou, and while the teacher had given you many compliments and basically secured your A, you still felt a bit sad knowing it would be the last time you would see shinsou since your schedules didn't collide and you had ended on a . . . confusing note.
- so you were just looking to cuddle with your lovers on a Friday night and wallow away in your sadness.
- when you walked in the group had been piled in their natural spots on bakugo's bed. mina was giggling with kaminari as they scrolled through tiktok, bakugo was reading a book you had reccomend to him a while a go, sero and kirishima were softly play fighting as they laughed and chuckled.
- everything was as it should be
- until you got to where your spot usually was, cradled between bakugo's warm and firm chest and mina's plush thighs and stomach, and it was occupied by someone else.
- everyone stopped what they were doing, as they watched a smile pull at your lips when you recognised the disheveled pruple hair lazily sprawled in your spot. everyone watched with bated breath as they waited for your reaction and small smiles of their own shining through as they watched your interaction.
- you lifted your hand and smacked shinsou's knee that had been raised up slightly as one of his arms lay behind his head and the other fiddled with a bracelet around mina's wrist, and his lips pulled into a lazy smirk of his own as he watched you.
- "get up, fat head, you're in my spot."
- his smirk only grew.
- "do something about it, hero."

I have very different "canon" romances in the games, here's how they go in way too much detail lol:
(also don't have one for Inquisition yet, I played through it when I was 14 and without knowing the previous games existed and didn't understand or appreciate the story like I do now. Don't remember my romance choices back then tbh. Currently replaying it on Steam, and still haven't decided who to romance yet, so my Qunari mage girlboss might be aroace?)
Warden: dalish male warrior named Jimalithor (Jim for short obv) X Zevran. A primarily romantic relationship, although Zevran occasionally wants to "keep his skills in the sheets sharpened" and the sex between them is less carnal desire and more intimate closeness with a LOT of cuddling. Jim is a stalwart shield that always wanted to protect the people close to them, and Tamlen's fate pushed that desire to extremes that did end up saving the world- at the cost of making him a massive overprotective worrywart. Zevran helps him out of his armored soul, reminding Jim that the world around him isn't always a threat and that he can rely on other people for more than fighting. Zevran shows Jim that the world is full of joy and beauty as well as danger, and that being vulnerable isn't always a thing to avoid. To Zevran, Jim is the loyal true love he always scoffed at the idea of, thinking that kind of love belonged to fairy-tales of princesses and dashing knights. But Jim was better than those storybook princes, he showed Zevran devotion and love so complete without anything asked in return- save for staying together through thick and thin. No deals, no bargain, no favors exchanged, no contracts or obligations to anyone but to each other. Zevran didn't need to be anyone but himself, and it took him a few years spent together for him to accept that who he was was enough for Jim, and for himself as well.
Ending: They set out together at the end of Origins, having their own adventures together without the weight of the apocalypse to worry about. Their ending is when Jimalithor hears the Calling, and the two of them decide to die peacefully together in the sunlight rather than violently alone in the Deep Roads. After some arrangements with a passing Dalish clan for handling the burial rites and to discreetly inform their friends of their resting place, they have a magnificent picnic topped off with a poisoned bottle of wine. A final toast to the friends made along their journey and to their lives and their love lived to the fullest, before passing away peacefully in each other's arms...
Hawke: straight male swashbuckler rogue, with Merrill. Carter's death left Hawke without a brother, and Varric became another brother for Hawke - never a replacement, he never forgot Carter. But Merrill was someone that Hawke was... Drawn to, there's no better word for it. Her presence had him drop his mask of sarcastic quips and cynical jabs to just be GENUINE with someone. Merrill came to see Hawke as someone to support her when everyone in her clan had marked her an outcast and she had no one that felt like home (as someone with a troubled family history and without anything that could be called a "childhood home", the feeling of people being your home and the lonely agony of being apart from them is something I related to strongly).
Sadly, their relationship ends up being more... Gah what's that term for a relationship that happens during an intense duration of crisis? The thing where the trauma makes people that'd normally be incompatible become closer and grow more compatible out of necessity? Examples are uh; Jon X Martin in The Magnus Archives, and Jason X Piper from Heroes of Olympus (I mean specifically Trials of Apollo where they've broken up and Piper literally explains it?)
Whatever, their relationship is leaning on each other for support and intimacy in Crime City - I mean Kirkwall as it slowly collapses on itself from crisis after disaster to all the sadistic Templars against insane blood mages and all the people caught in the middle. Everyone goes their separate ways at the end of DA:2, Bethany probably goes to help the mage rebellion (OH FUCK DOES SHE DIE AT THE CONCLAVE??!!! NONONONONONO AAAGGGH!!!!), Varric keeps in touch obviously, but Merrill and Hawke don't keep in touch much at all. They still write to each other, but they still have that ache of knowing their bond was one of circumstances not love for each other. They needed intimacy in a world gone mad, and they found that intimacy in each other but they knew deep down it wouldn't last forever. Ending: Hawke dwells on the prophecy from Flemeth: "We stand upon the precipice of change. The world fears the inevitable plummet into the abyss. Watch for that moment... and when it comes, do not hesitate to leap. It is only when you fall that you learn whether you can fly." This prophecy leads him to sacrifice himself and stay behind in the fade during that mission in Inquisition (Here Lies The Abyss), leaving Varric broken by grief (his Tarot card changing to him now on his knees surrounded by the weight of all the people he's lost, HOLY FUCK that still hurts!). Merrill hears about this news in a letter from Varric, and grief hits her differently. How would grief feel for someone that you used to love? She manages to send a letter to Isabella asking to meetup with her, and as soon as Isabella reads it she races her ship towards her at breakneck speed; 2 weeks straight of nonstop sailing like a Kraken was right on their ass the entire time! They go for drinks, and spend a few drunken nights reminiscing, sobbing in anguish, and potentially singing sad songs for karaoke? Does karaoke exist in some form or another in Thedas??? If not I'm sure Isabella would have invented it somehow, maybe even gotten Varric to build a rudimentary early prototype of a jukebox or something...
Inquisitor: female Qunari mage girlboss, aroace??? Romance and playthrough endings TBD
Who are your 'cannon' romances in the Dragon age games, and their dynamics? Because for me, it goes like this
Warden: Dalish fem x OC, tragic love story consisting of the Warden being very very toxic but slowly getting better for their lover to give him the best version of herself- Tragic ending, the S/O has to watch their strong, intelligent Warden go mad with the darkspawn taint as they slowly turn into a ghoul and hear the call in their mid 40s, like 15 years into their marriage.
Hawke: Mage, nonbinary and asexual Hawke, romantically involved with Varric as they both sort through their trauma and emotional issues.- They do not enter an established romantic relationship until years after the events of DA2. Ending- Pure fluff ship. Varric was their strongest support system, and now they're even cracking jokes with one another at the hanged man well into their old age.
Inquisitor: Dalish rogue, romanced Fenris (Twisty turny backstory involving being a side character during the events of DA2.) Started very love/hate and very will they won't they. They only enter an established relationship during the events of DAI, because of their extreme awkward slowburn with several love letters involved- except they were both too autistic to realize they were love letters. Ending- Complicated.
