I honestly haven’t thought too deeply about it! It was just that one scene I had in mind but—

I think for Grian, he was noticed by the Watchers at an early age because he had an affinity toward divine magics, but they don’t exactly recruit normally. Instead he was basically abducted from his friends and family in order to be trained as a Watcher.

He dealt with it at first, but eventually found an opportunity to escape and took it.

As for Scar, I think he used to thrive by making deals with selfish idiots that he could trick into saying something that worked in his favor.

But eventually he tricked someone with enough power to resist him, a Watcher, and they retaliated by trapping him with that muzzle contraption. It’s not uncommon for Watchers to utilize Vexes for their limitless magic potential in order to expand upon their own powers either.

Stopping him from speaking is significant because not only does it make it harder for him to swindle his way into deals he can abuse, but without his voice, he’s left with only his monstrous qualities on display, so people who sought out his power immediately assumed him to be hostile. But despite his size, Scar prefers to lean on his words, not his physical strength.

I was always so embarrassed by it growing up, but over time, I learned it was so much more fun to find others who ALSO enjoyed doing the same thing. fan ocs/self inserts SHOULD NEVER BE BASHED ON. I genuinely think it's one of the coolest things ever, and I enjoy SO much talking about others' fan ocs/my own. It is one of my biggest passions, and expanding on an already existing story is done all the time in reader/canon fanfics, so why not ocs/aus revolving AROUND OCS!! finally idk if youre big on reading books or trilogies but if you can id recommend reading Edmund Morris' trilogy on TR if you haven't yet. the final book ending had me crying at 7am december 2022 like 10 times.

First off: it’s like your avid 2000s sitcom but with art‼️ The Taft’s (and in later seasons, the Wilson’s) are their neighbors and T.R and W.H.T would have silly angry dad neighbor hijinks (and they both hate the Wilsons together), Alice is the popular girl and there was gonna be a whole episode on her affair with William Borah, Kermit is the shy kid that gets into scuffles with Ted jr, Quentin and Archibald are the spoiled younger sibs, Ethel is the neutral younger sister and Edith is the mostly annoyed mom. Also Quentin and Charles Taft are best friends and I’ll prolly write more ideas for it but I do have designs for Kermit, Ethel and Alice:
