And today, instead of anylysing another Yasmina and Sammy scene, we're analyzing THESE TWO BAMFs!!!

OMFG, these two I can't with these two I love them so dearly my lord. One of my favourite brother/sister relationships of all time. Their so supportive of each other and have a "sorry I just threw you down a mountain, it's how I show affection :)" relationship it's the best dynamic ISTG.

Like, I think Ben is the only other person Yaz voluntarily hugs (Not counting all the time's with Brooklyn cause those were kinda out of like "I protec u").

Like, Yaz didn't really have a strong relationship with Ben before he became "Island Ben", but when she sees him, instead of standing in shock like Brook and Kenji, she just throws herself at him (In a very "Sammy-like" manner, if I do say so myself lol). She obviously cares for this boy, even in when he was "Scared-Ben" and before their relationship really took off.

And she CONTINUES holding on to him like a lifeline for a good 7 seconds (Trust, I counted lol) AND THEN SHE FUCKING-

She pulls him in AGAIN. And Ben isn't like, akward about it at all. He just hugs her back instantly, which to me screams that there were never any romantic interest between them (Sorry to those who ship these two) and honestly shows need more of this. Like, these two are the only ones in this series...

ok I take it back, no one has shipped Ben and Brooklyn or Darius and Sammy as far as I'm concerned, but they have such limited screentime together I can see why.

They're the only well-developed and HEALTHY non-romantic duo in this series.

But like, Brook, Kenji, and Darius all had this really...weird and unexplained love triangle going on. Like I swear I wasn't the only one picking up on Brooklyn and Darius in Season 1 and 2, but then it shifts to Kenji for no real reason. Then obviously Yaz and Sammy were hinted at since the very first episode lol, but these two.

They're not even really as sibling-coded as Darius and Kenji (Yet another ship that I hope no one wanted to sail because...ew. their brothers yall. BROTHERS). They're just...different. I really don't know how to explain it. Honestly the best way I can explain it is with these two vvv

Yaz would definitely call Ben "Dingus" and make a "You Rule | You Suck" board I will die on this hill.

And Yaz obviously trusts this boy with her life. Like, when they were hiding from the robo-dogs (Oh my god, the demodogs and demogorgons of JWCC, the BRADS and BRAD-Xs) she's leaning into him.

And then they think their gonna die and this snipped right here actually breaks and heals my heart at the same time 🥹

Yaz just clings to him and hides her face in his shoulder and Ben doesn't waste a single goddamn moment before he tries to shield her as best he can.

*Raine pauses and watches again for science*

Screaming, crying, sobbing over them.

Can't find the GIF for it, but in season 5 when Ben sees Bumpy on get off the boat and makes a run for it, Yaz is the first one who notices Ben is gone. She's looking around for him before everyone else and she's the one who asks "Where's Ben". It's the little details in their relationship.

There's a whole other post I might make tomorrow on the amazing wingmanship between these two with Sammy and Ben's hilarious misunderstanding of Yaz being Kenji's wingman (Still not over that).

I love these two so much, my babies :))) There's so many moments between them that I caught on my rewatch.

Season 2 SGA live blogging:

If you haven't read season 1 and want to, here's that link! I'm rewatching SGA for the like 5th or 6th time at this point I think and putting my thoughts on here as I go for funsies. (Episode 1 is with season 1 because it's siege part 3 and it made more sense)

- The Intruder, AHHHH I love this episode

- The way Weir and Sheppard stand up for eachother makes me so happy, I get why people take it in a romance way, I think the writers were hinting at at, but there is just no chemistry in that regard imo. I adore their dynamic though

- Sheppard and Hermiad having a damn staring contest 😂

- I love how murder mystery this episode is, someone killing off members of the crew just as they discover who's doing it. The fact that it's a virus makes it even cooler I mean, the ship you're trapped on is turning against you???

- DUDE, the fighter bay scene is AMAZING. The way those two just stare at eachother dumbfounded with the open bay doors in the background 😂

- then of course the badassery kicks in as they seamlessly work together to remove all the infected hardware before the shield fails and they die with that amazing ass music in the background AHHHH

- I love that Rodney is experiencing Gs like this for the first time while in an intense chase after an infected F302 dangerously close to the coronasphere of a damn STAR

- "You wanna take the stick?" "Really?" "No"

- their sunburns omfg

- Teyla being in charge of Atlantis while Weir is gone makes me so happy. I love how they work in tandem running the city, having complete confidence in the other to keep it safe.

- also, I know the guy who plays Lorne was on stargate first, but I can't stop seeing him as Andy from Eureka.

So I rewatched 92sies and GOD, why was that so amazing, I think the more I watch the more I fall in love with it, and here's why or at least a few thoughts

-it's definitely the background information, like seeing the Lodge House inside and how everyone wakes up and KOLPPMAN (sorry if spelled wrong), witch we get a little of this in the Broadway but still more lore in a way

Demon Slayer - Entertainment District Arc A Rewatch Commentary (*manga spoilers)

-for some reason it's really creepy when muzan just keeps repeating "akaza. akaza. akaza." i physically recoiled -senjuro giving tanjiro rengoku's sword guard :') he's so lovely, senjuro is -it's so sweet how the boys basically live in shinobu's place -okay but tengen with his hair down is so pretty -dude, inosuke is amazing -tanjiro and senjuro exchanging letters though <3 -when tanjiro gets angry and powers up to go RAWR it's so good. you want to scream with him -daki's/raiden's/acheron's va is amazing huh? -"isn't this kamado nezuko? i see she's becoming a flashy demon" OMFG TENGEN! -WHY ARE THE CIVILIANS JUST STANDING THERE, LEAVE! FREAKING LEAVE! -OH NO! i was like, who is gyuutarou, who is doing this voice- and IT'S BENNETT'S VA?! GENSHIN'S BENNY'S VA?! BOUKEN DA, BOUKEN?! HOW?! HOW, MAN, HOW?! -if i had a nickel for every time the boys almost became someone's tsukugo, i'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but still -those two-second scenes with uzui and rengoku make me tear up, what a strong duo they would have been. -uzui's fights are so satisfyingly flashy -i think tanjiro's the perfect amount of strong mc who still has a lot to learn. he's not as strong as The Strong, but he's strong enough to be actually useful before his Big Glow-up Moments, and then the Glow-up Moments make sense because they don't come out of nowhere. -zenitsu is so cool. we manga readers all know what should be added in the hashira training season, anime original scenes, and i hope they do add them. -everything improves with every reason. every single thing, everything. -dude the directing is so good -dude when tanjiro, zenitsu and inosuke are fighting together it's beautiful, it's absolutely beautiful, it's excellency. the music, the shots, the animation, the directing, the voice acting, everything. and how they can work together so seamlessly because they've trained together and they're close and ARGH IT'S SO GOOD -it's such a good arc, isn't it -dude nezuko is so strong as a person. i think it goes unnoticed. -"but even if i end up turning into a demon, i'm sure that someone in the demon slayer corps will do me the favor of beheading me" ahahaha tanjiro ahaha… sigh. -THE MARK THE MARK THE DEMON SLAYER MARK -it's funny (and a good good thing) how zenitsu and inosuke didn't show demon slayer marks even though they've been killing upper demons since entertainment arc AND zenitsu kills one all on his own later. one could even say that maybe they would have become stronger than the current hashira if they can do That without the demon slayer mark -OMG LITTLE NEZUKO IS HUGGING INOSUKE ALONG WITH TANJIRO THAT'S ADORABLE -NEZUKO'S LITTLE WAVE WHEN SHE GOES TO SAVE UZUI -you know, after all of That, one eye down, one hand down, and there's not a nail chipped in uzui's fingers. they don't make nail polish like that anymore -I FORGOT THE SIBLINGS WERE TURNED BY DOUMA I WAS JUMPSCARED BY DOUMA AND MAMORU MIYANO ALIKE. DC's Stargirl 3.07 "Chapter Seven: Infinity Inc. Part One" has aired on the CW and I'm here to talk about it.

Jennie is back and I'm so excited! We get to meet Todd! And he has a boyfriend?? Ooooooh, finally the gay we deserve to see! Who wants to take Todd to find Jennie, omfg.

This connection Todd clearly has with the lantern ring plus his shadow powers is already really interesting. And we love a good moment of siblings getting their powers at the same time. You know something bad is going to happen when the cops randomly know your name. Fuck that, get out of there.

MR BONES!!! He looks so fucking gross man, I love it.

One of my favourite pieces of the "we're being watched and we know that but we can't let whoever's watching us know we know" trope is this exact moment of everyone trying to play it cool but just being terrible at it. And all the different scenarios are so funny.

It's starting!! Rick's giving himself unlimited access to his powers and he's starting to get angrier. He's losing it. Clearly, we're going to get a drug abuse metaphor out of it this season, the question is which drug.

Shade's back!!

You know what? Yolanda should just leave, her parents suck. She has a job and a killer support system with adults who will be there to help her. Barbara & Pat, or likely the Chapel's even, would absolutely give her a place to stay.

Jennie & Shade just hanging out is amazing. I like that they were tied together for this arc and the way they were linked is interesting. And clearly thought-through and preplanned as well. I've actually just now gone and rewatched the scene they're referencing from season 2, and yeah. The flashback we just watched was exactly that scene, darkness going into the ring and all. It would've been very easy for them to add that detail into the flashback now but they didn't have to because they were planning for this exact plot moment at least as far back as writing 2.12. Which is more than a lot of shows can usually say.

I'm excited to see how Shade reacts to Todd's shadow powers.

The wish needs to be specific and intentional. You need to make it like you know exactly what you're looking for.

For Levihan, I know this is cliche, but every levihan fan’s pilgrimage starts at this very spot:

Fucking “right here” sexual tension so thick it breaks my fucking butter knife. Because I���m an idiot, I didn’t *notice* it the first time (I used to watch the anime when having dinner during University forgive me), but when I rewatched it and this scene came on. Omfg. I just-

What even is that Levi? What is this smouldering look? Did your face have to be that close to Hanji’s to make your point? Omg! And Hanji’s stupid wide-eyed expression because Levi caught them off-guard? Stop it. Stop. We’re in public. We’re at work. Human Resources will be hearing about this!

The second scene that made me absolutely feral was when Hanji barged in on Levi’s squad’s tea time and talked to Eren while the others were like “fuckkkk go awayyyyy” and Hanji just barks a curt “Levi! What’s Eren up to today?” And he replies, completely deadpan, and Hanji proceeds to ignore his comment completely, switches back to their “uwu hewwo bb Ewen” voice and pulls Eren out of his duties. It was such an embarrassing partner (who is the manager of another branch and technically my boss) shows up at my workplace to wreak havoc moment? And Levi is just- completely used to it by now? He doesn’t mind?

And the third, after investing countless hours on this goddamn ship, they hit me with the telepathy scene. God. If that doesn’t sum up why I love them- Hanji getting excited and Levi being like “how the fuck were you raised? Why are you so feral? Stop being embarrassing!” And Hanji getting annoyed because “I know! Don’t you think I know? How dare you think I wouldn’t know!” And then they proceed to demonstrate that they, in fact, do not know.

Jeankasa

There ain’t that many but- we do what we can… (I do have favourites).

The scene where Jean swoops in to save Mikasa? A classic. A cliche. A favourite. It’s always Mikasa who has a handle on things, but when she’s in danger Jean fiercely protects? He’s just a boy trying to save the girl of his dreams? So tropey? So heroic? Iconic.

But my two absolute favourite moments?

One would have to be when the gang was talking about Eren and how he put everyone in danger. And Mikasa knows he’s not the same Eren, but she just doesn’t wanna face it. And Connie’s had it with everyone’s bullshit and is like “so tell me Mikasa since you know him so well- Why did he laugh?” And Mikasa looks at Jean and this is me reading into it because I’m obviously a sucker for them, but she looks at him? You always look at the person in the room you’re most comfortable with- whether it’s a tense situation or whether it’s to laugh. Or you look at the person whose counsel you seek or whom you trust to give you an accurate read of the situation. And she looks at him for assurance, for confirmation. And when she sees his face- she knows he feels the same, that Eren has gone astray, he just doesn’t want to say it because what’s there left to say? What’s the point of hurting her more? At that moment she looks away and her expression is one of realisation? She finally faces the truth? Ugh. This moment has such brilliant hurt comfort potential? I gaped okay. This scene makes me feel things.

The other? When Eren said shitty things to Mikasa and they rejoined the group and Jean asked for elaboration on how Eren had hurt Mikasa. And she was like “it’s fine…” and Jean, very calmly but very firmly, said “no it’s not fine. What did he say?” Very protective, very delicious. But in a way that isn’t him swinging his ego about and yelling and being forceful about it and making it about him? And after when he tries to rationalise Eren’s behaviour, reassure them that he’s out of it and he’s saying things he wouldn’t normally say? It’s just such a defining moment for Jean? It shows how mature he is. He didn’t use that to his advantage to be like “lol told y’all Eren’s an asshole”? He just wants to make sure everyone’s okay, and that Mikasa isn’t hurt.

“THE MORN A THOUSAND ROSES BRINGS”

just as promised, i’ll be making a post analyzing the trailer to the best of my ability. i’m thinking of posting my reactions to a major update like how i did with inazuma last year. might not go too deep because there’s a chance i might bring this discussion up in my next stream on sunday (if you mention it to me through chat)!

there’s so much to unpack here, so if you haven’t watched it yet, the content is under the cut to avoid you getting spoiled.

REACTIONS

the soundtrack hits so hard omfg i was jamming the entire trailer.

kinda bummed that dehya and cyno didn’t make an appearance and weren’t featured in the poster because i was looking forward to see them. however, after hearing that the devs took the feedback about the pace of inazuma by stretching out the main story until 3.2 (4 patches), i’m okay with that. waiting for those two along with the desert region will be all worth it in the end.

the visuals of sumeru are stunning. one of my favorite scenes was nilou transforming transforming what seems to be a dendro crystalfly into fragments of power and spreading them into the land that revealed the landscape of the region is such a sight. another scene was with her dancing in the midst of chaos.

props to the voice actors holy shit. they sound amazing. absolutely in love with tighnari’s, collei’s, nilou’s, dori’s, and nahida’s. al-haitham... hm, i need to get used to it. i’m not too sold on him sounding robotic (eng dub).

“the world... forget me...” that last line? every time i rewatched the trailer, i always get chills down my spine. was it kusanali who said that or was it the former dendro archon?

the lore my god. corrupt scholars? the refusal to acknowledge kusanali as the new dendro archon? the interruption of the sabzeruz festival? we’re gonna steal an object that would reveal something huge and become criminals because of that? man, i can’t wait for 3.0.

ANALYSIS

tighnari explained that the akasha terminal is created by the akademiya through the power of greater lord rukkhadevata. then an npc followed it up by saying that we can use it to access the akasha, which i believe is an archive of sorts to find any information we need. after her death, the sages took hold of her gnosis and created that system to ensure that the citizens aren’t questioning their rule. instead of a god having it in their possession, it’s in the hands of humans -- in the wrong hands. at first, i thought it was a headpiece that filtered information that are considered threats to the regime so that may be the case as well.

the sages were against the celebration of kusanali rising up as the new archon of the region, seeing it as confirming that rukkhadevata is dead and declaring that “our archon created the utopia that is sumeru city”. there was a scene that had a bird in a cage. the sages were trapping kusanali and restricting her powers to avoid “destroying” that image of peace for everyone. the scene with an eremite boss and the machine from the desert might have some connection with this.

in the teyvat chapter storyline trailer, dainsleif summarized the conflict of sumeru as “in the city of scholars there is a push for folly, yet the god of wisdom makes no argument against it”. the reason why kusanali doesn’t take action is because she’s basically held hostage by the sages and can’t do anything about it.

also the first line of the sumeru chapter was “the god of wisdom’s enemy is wisdom itself, and the oasis of knowledge is a mirage in the desert of ignorance”. know too much, you’re dead. kusanali wished that the forest and the desert got along. the desert region is a metaphor of truth; they know what tf is going on. however, the forest chooses to remain ignorant and that whatever the desert believes in is a total hoax.

“are you really ignorant? or are you just living in complete denial?” was said as some parts of sumeru city disappeared. the theme of the 2.8 gaa event was mirages, created by the fatui through kusanali’s power and manifested by a person’s memories and dreams. i have a theory that what we see sumeru city as is not real, rather it’s been long gone with rukkhadevata. the sages refused to believe that, hence using the gnosis to create that illusion and keeping that alive through their dreams. that may explain why adults are incapable of dreaming. their dreams may be considered to be threats and were told that the rule of the sages are absolute.

black widow reviewish? but it’s just my thoughts™️

i just watched black widow thursday night and i am shook. i'm going to do two separate reviews; one WITHOUT spoilers and another WITH spoilers. the one without spoilers will be here and the one with spoilers will be beneath it.

here are some stuff i guarantee to you:

you will miss nat

other than that? it was really good. i think it'll be in my top 5 marvel movies. obviously, it takes place before she dies lol and she deals with her past. it was funny, action packed, and the COMPLETE opposite of boring. literally the shortest 2 hours of my whole entire life. there was no scene where i was like 'damn this is taking a long time', like i said, ZERO BORING PARTS.

i would so recommend this movie, although, for people who haven't really watched the mcu or care for it might not enjoy it as much as they should but this movie really connects into the mcu timeline. we learn so much about her past and things are starting to make sense again. black widow definitely answered a lot of questions about her past which made me feel so happy because nat has been treated as a 'sidekick' for so long and to see her finally have a black widow centered movie? wow.

also, yelena????? (aka florence pugh's character) i am in love with her. i love her so much. i hope you will too because she's really funny and relatable.

also, keep in mind that this movie is supposed to explain natasha's past because i feel like a lot of reviews that criticize the movie are forgetting that

first off, critics that are saying that the whole idea of a villain in this movie is weak. i somewhat agree??? taskmaster seemed to be a lot less important than portrayed in the trailers. then again, this movie wasn't supposed to focus on hero vs. villain i think? like it literally takes place after civil war because marvel needed to have a redo on their misogynistic take of nat. but also this movie is to show us her past. if anything, the movie was hero vs. their past. taskmaster was there just because but was not the main villain.

it's cool if you disagree with me because i haven't read the comics and whatnot. i do wish that they used taskmaster better but the movie obviously had a purpose to focus on (nat and her family/backstory) so too much could've just been a distraction.

also thought it was cool that taskmaster could copy the fighting style of everyone. as i was watching it i was like 'oh, wakanda forever! captain america shield throw! black widow pose! winter soldier knife throw!"

anywhooooo, i cried the most when yelena was at the table with the fam fam and they were hurting her feelings without even realizing it. and then when she was like 'the best years of my life was fake and you didn't even tell me' i was so gone. i was dead. i really understood her in that moment and i wanted to hug her so bad omfg.

also????? i just want to know... did they teach the girls how to braid their hair in the red room? was there a class for that? everyone's hair was so fucking good lol

parts of the ending also gave me super captain america: the winter soldier vibes. like when nat lets taskmaster out from the room and she's like ya know don't fight me pls it's like steve with buck in tws. and the fight being the sky just reminded me of the helicarriers from tws. but then again, steve and nat were cool buddies so it's not weird that they became similar.

FIGHT SCENES. oh my god, action packed amazeballs. like i wasn't even expecting that. mcu has great action/fight scenes but in black widow? DAMN. what specifically amazed me in this movie is that in the past, they've downplayed the aggressiveness of fighting. but they didn't hold back for black widow. every punch, kick, and throw emitted so much power and rage, which is exactly what you'd expect coming from a bunch of russian spies. i loved that aspect so much.

THE CREDIT SCENE OH GOD. throughout the 2 hour long movie, i fell in love with yelena and i'm not even kidding. i love her so much. i just want to hug her (as stated before lol). to see her there at nat's headstone. i started crying then fricken valentina showed up. i was shocked while at the same time i was fricken like jesus then could've been a sad and touching moment for yelena. i also wonder if they meant for valentina to be introduced in black widow first or tfatws first? like which one was the original original idea? because of the bonk bonk release dates. i seriously want to know.

more onto the credit scene, the time in between yelena whistling and what SHOULD’VE been nat whistling back? longest like 5 seconds of my life. the silence was deafening. i fucking cried.

black widow is fucking great but i still wish we got to have her funeral :(

I had no one to talk to while watching the movie and I hate being alone with my thoughts so I wrote everything down in my notes app. It's not coherent! Enjoy!

Strickler survived because fuck you, and Toby also survived and just has scars now. Maybe a wheelchair but he's fine, also he can use the Warhammer for super speed and make it awesome once he's used to it. Archie and Charlie get freed once they rebuild the bridge (and they were playing scrabble to pass the time). Nomura is still dead because she died on screen and I can't really deny that but she's with Draal so it's okay. Everyone is traumatized but they'll be fine. NotEnrique is still babysitting 500 babies and Steve is about to bring 7 more.

In summary, I reject Groundhog Day ending but everything else was great, as long as it actually happened. It was a good movie. But you can't just cancel years of passion. Having the prospect of a million "canon AUs" sounds great for writing but at the same time nooo you can't do that he didn't have to go back THAT far HHHHH

I liked the movie. It was a great watch and a satisfying end to a franchise, but I gotta say I do not fancy the ending of it so I will from now on be in denial. I honestly feel kind of betrayed that this show was my whole life for so long, I learned every smallest fact, and they basically deleted it from existence. I know what they were going for, I think, but no thank you I will be going with my own opinion. Still gonna rewatch it a few dozen times though ✌🏻

THIS MOVIE. i love it so much. nori is one of my favourite barbie characters ever, and im obsessed w her design as well as the plot of this movie actually being really fucking good. the design of those freaky little baby mermaids, and their mermaid food? i loved the giant sea snail and her huge Body. alina was a really compelling character in this because of her relationship with nori, and this movie gave us one of the best scenes ever with bibble and those fruit. 

7. barbie in a mermaid tale

literally i just have so much nostalgia for this because i was like 10 or something i dont know but something about it like has me in an iron grip. the intro scene, the music, the animation. reminds me of being a kid. sobbing. 

6. barbie in a christmas carol

WHEN HAS THIS MOVIE EVER NOT MADE ME CRY. god as a kid i hated this movie because the blonde girl pissed me off but i was totally missing the core message. i cant believe barbie fully told a story about child abuse and neglect, and did it well, making me feel for that horrible woman. but i still cry in that scene where that lady cant adopt the little girl because shes like. totally dead. so tragic. 

5. 12 dancing princesses

not much 2 say abt this one! i kind of despise half of the plot but the costume design was amazing, the theme song is . PHENOMENAL. and the love interest was great. also, a talking bird. im listening to the song rn and holding back tears. magical experience. 

4. barbie in the nutcracker

CRYING AND SOBBING. so much nostalgia...oahhg man. i want to marry the nutcracker but only in his nutcracker form hes kind of ugly as an actual guy. the theme of magic in this movie is palpable, the dancing scene is absolute ass in hindsight but its one of the first barbie films using computer animation so i can forgive it. its literally just so beautiful. the only complaint i have is that i WISH it had ended in tragedy, with clara fasding away forever, unable to return, but always remembering..i wouldve pissed y pants.

OKAY I would make this number  2 but number 2 HAS to be number 2 i cannot change it. this movie is just so gay like actually. for real gay. i love the flirting, the touching, the love between the two girls. its also beautiful, i loved the colours in this the palette is so bright and fun. (also the song at the start of the movie makes me cry like a baby)

I have just finished rewatching Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and here are some details I forgot before that I now remember after rewatching it (not in order, also this might include spoilers):

Ahn Min Hyuk is not extra, he is EXTREMELY EXTRA™

Bong Soon saved the trapped girls first before the actual final battle

Kyung Shim being kidnapped as well (this is like such a big part of the plot but somehow I forgot lmfao)

The dude who works in Kim Jang Hyun’s (the psychopath) workshop is also his accomplice (I thought he had nothing to do with those girls but turns out Jang Hyun fed him drugs in exchange for taking care of those girls omfg)

Bong Ki and Hee Jin didn’t end up together

Just when I was thinking that this drama didn’t have a scene where Bong Soon and Min Hyuk made out, they instantly fed me a scene where they made out (yk, the one with Bong Soon on a piano or smth)

Min Hyuk is only present in this drama just as Bong Soon’s love interest and nothing more

Anyways i watched the whole first season again...and i just finished the last episode it just never ceases to amaze me how fucking AWFUL Perry was. Like this show wrote and excellent abuser omfg 

The fact he was prepared and ready to fight 5 women...5 GROWN FUCKING WOMEN instead of loosing his punching bag/victim is what really hit home for me. That scene where they show what happened. Idk if im gonna watch season 2 again (i definitely am)

this show is soo well written i feel bad for bonnie because you can tell in season 2 that she is just one of those people with a soft soul. She can’t take heaviness.
