… I can’t imagine that we actually watched the same show. Like I REALLY AISNSOSNWKMEJDND
hold on I’m gonna need to calm down.
Let me just make a list of why I disagree and at least organize my anger. Long post incoming.
Vander was friends and had a deal with Grayson. The sheriff. Idk what else to even add to that
Caitlyn is more than a cop and Arcane isn’t copaganda. Genuinely don’t know what kind of progress some of these people are looking for. Real allies are a necessity for real progress.
SILCO IS A CLASS TRAITOR. HE FUNNELLED DRUGS INTO THE UNDERCITY AND PUT POOR KIDS IN FACTORIES FOR THAT DRUG FOR PROFIT!!! HE PAID THE ENFORCERS TO LET HIM DO IT WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE
Vi is not as much as an activist as you would like to believe
WHY IS EKKO NEVER EVER BROUGHT UP IN THESE CONVERSATIONS????
Silco was not good for the Undercity
Silco was not a great guy. Ekko had to build an entire separate hidden community for the people he hurt and stepped on for his own benefit
Caitlyn is ignorant and naive. That’s ok. That’s what character development is for.
Loving imperfect characters like Silco and Jinx then hating characters like Vi and Caitlyn is peak media illiteracy to me
FOR THE LAST TIME: VI DIDNT ABANDON POWDER!!!!! Silco literally wanted Vi DEAD for trying to stop him from killing Vander??? How could you possibly say silco was there for jinx when Vi refused to be???? SHE WAS IN PRISON BECAUSE OF HIM???
Silco’s manipulation is working wonders on y’all
Embracing all the outrage without at all looking out for the people harmed by bigotry is not activism
SILCO IS A CLASS TRAITOR x929282929394
Caitlyn was the first person in years to show Vi kindness and care. She listened and stuck by her and took care of her after Vi was locked up for years and beat up by cops (i wonder what led her to be thrown in there?). Cait being a cop stopped being a point of contention once Vi recognized her naivety and genuineness.
NUANCE NUANCE NUANCE. ITS NEVER EVER BLACK AND WHITE
The only way I can see Vi touching ‘class traitor’ in season one was the shimmer raid. Guess who the hell put those kids in there in the first place.
Just hanging out with Caitlyn isn’t being a class traitor if Vander’s allowed to be friends with Grayson.
Critical thinking is very necessary for watching shows like Arcane
What the hell did Silco really do for the Undercity???? What changed over the 7(ish) years he was basically in power of the place? All I’ve heard was he made the air cleaner, which would be great except for, you know, shimmer and the child factory workers
Jinx is unwell and feeding into it like this in a fully serious manor would not help Arcane as a show at all
What do you want Arcane’s message as a full show to be? ‘Screw cops’? That’s a little boring and unproductive isn’t it?
CAN WE TALK ABOUT EKKO AND HIS IMPACT PLEASE???? x9382728283
Caitlyn is trying to make Piltover and Zaun a better place. Is that not allowed? Am I missing something?
Caitlyn and Vi’s arcs have only just started. Season one is basically fully set up except for characters like silco and Jinx. This is far from the end.
Genuinely think Vander would appreciate Vi for being friends (using this term loosely because they are in love) with Caitlyn considering he was the one who was opposed to war and Vi wasn’t.
Silco should NOT be your idea of Undercity independence and respect. He oppressed the Undercity the same way the Council and the Enforcers did. He helped no one but himself, his team (barely) and Jinx.
You’re allowed to like and dislike any character you want but pretending like Silco is better for the Undercity than others is just so ridiculous to me. Everyone is of course completely allowed to like Silco, but we can’t pretend like he’s this stand up guy. If you have to pretend like he was, maybe you don’t like him as much as you think.
“Because Cait’s pretty” is also incredibly incorrect. Go check point #14.
Vi never stopped loving and caring for Powder. Powder’s mental health issues were amplified and utilized by Silco because he couldn’t even heal himself.
If all of your opinions of Caitlyn and Vi start and end with “cops suck” and “class traitor” then you genuinely don’t respect Arcane as a show enough to show you nuance.
The misinterpretation of characters is just so … it’s like you go out of your way to love and/or hate characters no matter how much they show you who you are.
Your closed mindedness is clouding your judgement and making you out to seem like you don’t actually want the Undercity’s triumph, you want Silco and Jinx’s, even if it means ruining the Undercity. And that would be fine because father/daughter evil duo but trying to say you’re all for this duo because you want what’s better for the Undercity when they continue to hurt it is simply not correct and very harmful (to fictional characters in a fictional universe 😭)
Only being able to understand how Silco and Jinx were oppressed and therefore should be able to not just destroy Piltover but also Zaun is not the eat you think it is
Why is Viktor never called a class traitor? I think he's great (I also think Silco and Jinx are wonderfully written) but we hardly saw him in the Undercity/ interact with people from the Undercity plus he killed someone (Sky) from there (accidentally)
EDIT TO ADD ANOTHER POINT: Caitlyn has shown little to NO malicious intent and has no real negative impacts other than Jinx’s attachment issues and insecurities being amplified by her mere existence. Again, this is her story and development. Throughout the season she is exposed to reality and recognizes her and her peers/ families wrongs. I have no idea what you want from this character. Should Piltover just be gotten rid of in the story? Then what? Should Caitlyn have just never gotten involved and continued to embrace her privilege? Should she have left Vi in prison and stay ignorant?
#arcane#arcane league of legends#arcane netflix#point number 32 sums it all up I think#i blocked most of the people who added and made the post so they wont see this lol#i might be overreacting or misinterpreting#maybe i didnt watch the show right#or maybe i did and some of these people are bad at this#some points are most definitely redundant#and im open to people disagreeing.... respectively lol maybe dont wish death on a character and ill hear you out#again i wouldnt dislike silco as much if he wasnt put on a pedestal by people who swear theyre all for the undercity#i wrote this kind of in anger so like sorry about that lol#anti silco#<- for tagging purposes if this is too silco critical for the people who like him#to slay or not to slay#caitvi#this is the second repost because the first two didn’t show up in the tags cuz I messed with my settings 😭😭😭

So I recently went to go watch KOTPOTA again. I wanted to share my thoughts overall on the film, I couldn't properly do it before because I had forgotten some stuff lol
The pacing: at first watch I though it was kinda weird but watching it again I realized it pretty much went straight to the point, if anything I wanted MORE but you know the movie would've been too long but I wouldn't have minded either way. I mean, I've watched the Avatar and Harry Potter movies, so yeah I could've handled that lol
I really like the environment they set up with the eagle clan; their culture, their tradition with the eggs, and their bond with the eagles. I hope we get to see more details in the next movie.
The cinematography was amazing, they really nailed it. The sceneries were outstanding. A lot of that stuff reminded me back to Rise, back when it was filled with human life, now sadly the structures are abandoned and overtaken by nature but look pretty either way. The action scenes omg were so engaging and just done so well.
Let's talk about the main characters:
Noa: Great character. He's curious, smart, brave, and compassionate. I know a lot of people wanted him to be Caesar's descendant but i didnt really care about that. I'm excited where his next journey will take us if they have the chance to make a sequel (please 🙏) I'm pretty sure at the end of the film, Noa now has a new view of the world he lives in and now questioning his entire existence lol
Raka: loved him!! I really like how he truly understood what Caesar stood for. I did notice some things he believed were wrong lol but he's got the spirit and would lighten up the mood after what happened with Noa's clan. He's got a good heart, he sacrificed himself for Mae despite knowing her for a very short amount of time after all. Also I refuse to believe he's dead so there's that also and I hope he comes back to guide both Mae and Noa onto the path for the coexistence of both apes and humans.
Soona: I really wish we could've gotten more scenes with her, but I really like her. She's brave, sweet, and a ride or die for both Noa and Anaya. I hope we get to see her more in the next film
Anaya: yall already know cause I made a seperate post lol but loved him and I wish we had more scenes with him as well! I felt so bad for him when we see him again with Proximus, he's been through enough!
Proximus: he was a great villian and I did not like him, which is good! Not all villians need a sad backstory, this dude was clearly only hungry for power. He was twisting Caesar's words, enslaving other apes, killing humans, and wanted access to technology capable of bringing destruction and chaos. He's smart and knows how to be resourceful. I find it funny that he was talking smack about humans yet his way of thinking and actions are similar to the bad side of humanity. I only wish we could've gotten more scenes with him; he was underused and I thought he would have a much bigger role based on the trailers, but I enjoyed his presence overall.
Mae: I've already made a seperate post about her character and I still sorta feel the same way about her. Rewatching it again, I got to sympathize more with her situation. She's a survivor who clearly grew up and was taught misinformation about apes, but after meeting Raka and bonding with Noa; i truly believe she'll come around and change her mind. I believe in her, and I hope we get to see her again and get more of her backstory to understand her better.
The movie was great. The plot, visuals, and acting were so well done. I took about 5 years for them to work on this, and it SHOWS. Their dedication shows that when enough time is given; movies that involve CGI can be done properly. I'm sick of projects being crunched and the visuals ending up looking like 💩 because the teams/artists aren't appreciated enough. I definitely recommend watching at least twice, and I pray for a sequel.

I wish they would because it'd be funny as fuck but it might kill the mod
Lets put this in terms you might understand. Im going to repeat what you said, and then make a Katara 'critcism' of equal value
zk: aang is kind of inattentive and gets distracted easily
"Katara is kind of mean and gets really prideful and self-righteous"
These are two things Aang does, and two things Katara does, but if we made this Katara's entire fucking personality, that would be anti Katara
zk: aang yelling at toph was kinda shitty
"Katara making the blind comment at Toph was kinda shitty."
"Katara saying Sokka didnt love their mom like she did was kinda shitty."
The statement about Aang is true, as are these statments about Katara. If we were to call Katara a bad friend because of these, or toxic, or bring it up as reason that Katara isnt deserving of Aang, that would be anti Katara
zk: aang getting so jealous at the idea of Katara being with someone else that he would go into the Avatar state is kind of problematic
"Katara getting so jealous of Aang she says shes not going to come watch him ride the unagi to make sure hes okay is kind of problematic"
Neither of these statements are true. Both are ignoring the larger context and making their behavior out to be jealousy when its not. Aang was upset about the play as a whole. His comment about the avatar state was clearly not a literal thing, but him trying to express how upset the play as a whole has made him. Katara was upset Aang was being irresposible and letting the praise get to his head and didnt want to come watch him show off.
Aang doesnt even show any jealousy in this scene, zutara shippers just like making it about themselves. Aang doesnt mention Zuko once. Hes not thinking "Katara might have feelings for someone else" hes thinking "I dont know where I personally stand with Katara as she has been sending mixed signals." Which is, frankly, reasonable, even if he went about trying to express this in the wrong way. Thats not jealousy, thats a basic desire of wanting someone to communicate with you.
Painting Katara's frusteration and refusal to care about the potential of Aang getting hurt as just toxic jealousy would be anti Katara.
zk: here's a fic where aang faces consequences for burning Katara
Now, before I go into this one, lets remember the real consequences Aang faced, like getting jumped and slammed into the ground, like feeling so guilty as to swear off something he needs to save the world, like this incedent shown to be one of the things that haunt Aang the most when hes opening his chakras. Like this insident (incident? Im not looking it up rn) literally being the context in which he allows Zuko into their lives as he believes Zuko can help teach him firebending in such a way as to avoid ever hurting someone again.
Heres a list of things Katara did and did not face consequences for: abandoning Aang along with Sokka because Aang withheld a map for a few hours, stealing a waterbending scroll and sneaking to use it despite agreeing not to and putting everyone in danger, (she got saved and still got to keep the scroll, even made it very obvious she felt no remorse for this, I consider that not facing consequences), making Aang think Appa was sick, telling people Aang is the avatar because shes proud of it despite that putting Aang in danger many times, encouraging Aang to throw himself at problems with no help like Hei Bai and the NWT invasion, stealing appa after Aang said he did not want her to.
If someone were to write a fic where Aang's mistakes are ignored, and these mistakes of Katara's were emphasized and used as reasoning shes not good for Aang, to the point where they add consequences that didnt happen but could have happened, like Aang getting captured and/or hurt in order to make her feel guilty, that would be, say it with me, anti Katara.
When someone ephasizes or exaggerates a characters flaws while ignoring their good deeds and qualities, that is being anti, not fair criticism, especially if they do it while ignoring most of the flaws and mistakes another character has made and treating them as near perfect and a victim of the first character.
Most zutara shippers are not interested in analyzing the show for the sake of fair criticism of characters. If they were, they would be pointing out Katara's mistakes just as often as Aang's. They are only interested in justifying their dislike for Aang.

7th comic infodump post because i dont wanna spam. Enjoy my random thoughts neatly separated with ='s, which neatly symbolize the equal absurdity of each one. Fair warning - I have my favourites.
===
The comic began with 3 different covers, each in a different tone, but all showing the same scene, a girl sitting before her dead parents. First cover is a burning mansion (red), second is a frozen lake (blue). The third one is weird - it looks like some factory and there are blueprints on the ground. Id say it looks Grayish.
I believe those 3 are supposed to represent the Mann brothers and their relationship with their family, mostly their father.
Redmond was probably physically abused by his father, hence the burning mansion
Blutarch was emotionally neglected, thus the blue lake
Gray never had a family at all and was left to fruitlessly make plans and scheme
===
Wait hasnt the Helen like ultimately failed in torturing Zepheniah halfway, because in the end the Mann family had a heir - first Gray, then Olivia?
Even while in her torture chamber he must have known that Gray followed exactly the path he wanted him to follow by killing Blutarch and Redmond and that the line has a heir with Olivia
===
I wish that the general premise of the story was more about Helens and Gray rivalry, instead of her just wanting to torture Zepheniah with Gray being just a distraction to her. She and Gray would make such a cool pair of enemies, and generally TF2 franchise could be SO MUCH if it took itself seriously for once
Like it could be an exemplary, juicy, 1960s retrofuturistic spy movie pastige touching the themes like greed, war, capitalism
===
As much as i enjoyed the whole comic i didnt really like that Gray just "told" Helen about australium immortality. It doesnt make sense, however i understand that he found her in a moment where it seemed likely that she wouldnt care.
But still, its incredibly stupid to just go meet some random person, ask them for all their immortality ingots and genuinely expect to receive them after a week.
===
That ^ makes Grays death a tad more ironic. I think he told her because he wanted to impress somebody with his knowledge, because he just has an ego and wanted to flex how smart he is, and he really did assume shes not gonna care.
Such carelessness was obviously a mistake as she probably packed it up and fled the second he left. Almost 150 years later when TFC heavy asked Gray what are the rocks he refused to answer knowing it could end badly, but again his ego got the better of him because he mentioned that hes almost 150 years old
===
If Helen was able to revive Zepheniah like 10+ years after his death with australium then its 100% possible that Gray was revived too. He did not turn into dust for more than 3 minutes after he died, while Helen disintegrated almost instantly, so its very much possible that he was revived!!!
(Also TFC heavy also has not disintegrared upon dying!)
(Cope of the year award is mine!)
===
I like what happened with Olivia, but its a bit obvious that in canon she probably doesnt think of the time she spent with Gray most fondly.
Still i think that by all standards Gray was a decent dad. Not perfect, he had some Zepheniah in him, but all in all he was good
===
The general tone of the comic is so nostalgic. Its as if valve was trying to tell us something. I sersiously wonder whats in store for TF2 in the future.
===
Honestly i really did like the comic, but the Zepheniah bit was so... macabre. Like damn that panel where hes a fucking god emperor corpse hooked up to a million cables is just straight up bodyborror. Its so twisted and grotesque. Brrr.
Also, i noticed that the cables he had hooked to him had traces of australium in them. They were really big, so perhaps keeping Zepheniah alive was eating like 90% of her supply
In the panel where Zepheniah and Helen disintegrate heavy is holding medic back, almost as if medic wanted to move and do something
===
Why tf did Maggie just leave Saxton lmao
===
Im sorry but if medic did not speak a SINGLE LINE in the comic then we cannot say that background characters like Olivia or Gray didnt get to be more important because the focus was elsewhere. So far the most focus was on fucking soldier lmao
Also im sorry but seriously - why has medic not said anything!! Sfhtgfddd
===
I wonder whars up with Engies dad

ok you know what makes me sad. as like a former self proclaimed misandrist man hater that would cry and scream about how much it sucks to live in a mans world etc etc etc put estrogen in the water fountains (was never a terf. yall can still die)
for anyone who is still… like that… how can you live in that hatred and misery every day. are women paid less yes are we denied reporductive care by old fart men who are going senile and some by some middle aged women yes. are men statistically like responsible for almost all violent crime and child crimes yes. the more you focus on this shit JUST TO GET MAD ? No ACTION? your fucking soul will get torn apart. genuienly whats the fucking point of just sitting in a circle and hating men. its such a stupid fucking “personality trait” to GENUINELY hate all men sorry babe but you are self harming your soul is shriveling. im sorry please cope. i dated a “””bi””” man because i “hated straight men” for 2 1/2 years…
tldr i hated “masculine” men so much i ended up in a loveless touch deprived relationship with a man who wouldnt touch me because he was actually gay (didnt feel the need to tell me this for 2 1/2 years..) nothing wrong with that but you see where my hatred of MASCULINITY landed me. in a relationship that was about to kill me from stress trying to figure out why i was untouchable because i chose the most feminine man in the midwest to date. hitting myself with sticks in the forest hoping someone would come kill me all because i refused to date a straight man. SWORE never to date a straight man. then i fucking did and hes normal. are they all? not at all. maybe i got lucky but im sorry. girls who are attracted to men but hate them genuinely just are in a cycle of not knowing how to pick them or of unresolved trauma. its on you to fix that. are they going to say sorry? no 😂 so YOU fix it because we all have to.
are the majority of straight cis men uneducated, rude, bigoted and kind of stupid? yes! literally yes. if you feel some type of way or anger towards men because of trauma i ABSOLUTELY understand. but we still gonna need a therapist tho girl. i cant even feel bad if you don’t address your issues and spew hatred at half the population for no other reason than to hear your own voice, and making no effort to heal yourself.
i like to believe, ground breaking statement here, that some straight men are actually great fucking people with manners and decorum and emotional intelligence. do you have to risk it to find them? yes. is it worth it? yeah. 1000000x over. there is beauty in TRUSTING SOMEONE. if they hurt you? ok ouch! do whatever has to be done to keep loving. you cannot shut yourself behind reinforced fucking bars because 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 men hurt you. easier said than done yes esp if you have trauma. do you have no desire to HEAL????? and become full of love again???? stop w the bullshit. like actually its tired childish and im going to say it its pessimistic, annoying and posionous. keep that shit to yourself until you resolve that shit. or dont and shut the fuck up!!!
some of us are trying to keep faith which you clearly have lost. and its a sick, stinky attitude to have. keep it to yourself because it makes anyone with a healthy relationship and attraction to men feel like a wet blanket. like sorry that happened to you and you havnt put any effort into healing and that you are seething with hate. its not my problem. survive like the rest of us and for your heart health, literally get help before you have a heart attack or get ulcers.
#yeti#watched a tiktoker talk aboutbhow men should all die and i was loke what a miserable way to live. stop projecting what happened to you onto#me and like fix it. theres NO way you ever feel peace and dont bring that near me

Because you said you love rambeling about lore and you are looking for excuses to talk about it redeem this cupon for one free lore ramble, any topic
OH YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT U JUST DONE
SIT BACK AND RELAX CUZ THE GOATS UNIVERSE HAS BEEN IN MY MIND THE WHOLE WEEK + SOME HEKET RAMBLING Cuz I got her a partner idea hehehe <3
LONG RAMBLING UNDER THE CUT!!! (btw bless chu I appreciate u <3 )
ABOUT CULT OF THE GOAT AU:
About the Purple Crown: Ive been seeing a lot of interpretations of Goat's Crown going around and honestly Id like to put in my cents: I dont think the Crown being purple changes who the owner was, because the eye shape is still the same as Lamb's Which brings me to think that, just like how in COTL everything seems to be colored after warmer/reddish colors, everything in Goat's universe must be following cooler/purpleish palettes What does that mean to me? That ALL the other Crowns are of different colors as well, maybe a colder one compared to their original ones
Im still thinking about what each of them would be here but so far I like to think that Yellow -> Ocean green?? Green -> Blue Blue -> dark pink? Purple -> Cyan/White
I think the Crown shapes would still be the same + what each Bishop's domain would be as well
About Aym and Baal: They were never offered to Narinder. Shamura didnt have that compassion. They were so mad at their brother that they couldnt bring themselves to consider his feelings for being banished. Neither did any of the other siblings, for they wouldve been too busy fighting off Old Gods and hunting for empowerment
So where are Aym and Baal? Theyre alive! With Forneus! And both of them are lil jerks as much as their mother Taught to steal, lie and fight, all in order to survive no matter what. The twins have already expressed wanting to go out and explore the world, but Forneus refuses to let her kids go, much for her own selfish reasons of them being the only things that make her happy in this fcked up world AND because, of course, she loves them. She knows how cruel the world has turned into, she does not want to lose them Aym and Baal never met Narinder, and Narinder never met them Maybe eventually, while Goat is out in a crusade, they shall cross paths........as enemies
About the Purgatory: This is still smtng I am speculating about, but what I have so far: instead of it being MS to tell the Goat to free the Bishops from their deserved-suffering, itd be them asking the deity if such thing was possible, because Narinder wouldve been feeling bad about it He believes that his siblings could change over time, especially now that the Crowns were relinquished by the Goats power, and so they are allowed to have that chance This would unlock many scenarios of the Bishops actively trying to take over the cult, run away or kill the Goat + their followers. It is smtng Ill let cook for a while more
IF ANYTHING Id just- leave them dead lol they wouldnt be redeemable in this world (BUT BECAUSE I LOVE MY SKRUNKLIES EQUALLY ILL TRY TO MAKE IT WORK-)
ABOUT HEKET: Ehehehe I accidentally started shipping her with my follower OC Astrid so we'll see how it goes
Astrid is someone who keeps to herself for the sake of others; she is not used to opening up and oftentimes believes her pain is not worth of complains compared to others she is caring for However, she is very much talkative, maybe as a way to make her forget her problems Whilst Heket she- well. She cant. Talk much it hurts like hell UASHDNJASMDK
SO WE HAVE A TALKATIVE BUBBLY GF WITh her mostly quiet butch wife that shes constantly having to change the bandages of <3
I have a dialogue set up for them which I shall get to drawing a comic for as soon as I am done with thIS CURRENT COMIC-
ANYWAYS thats the ramblings for now, HOPE YALL LIKE THE IDEAS bless u again for givng me a free pass made me rlly happy MWEHE,,!! 💜💜💜

my forever - calum hood. (kinda angst, kinda fluff)
a calum hood x reader
she/her pronouns, reader is michael’s sister.
he traced shapes into her back, his cold, coarse fingertips leaving goosebumps down her spine. something he’d always enjoyed, giving the girl goosebumps, seeing the little bumps appear reminded him what power he had over her.
“calum?” she whispered, so quiet that the kiwi boy wouldn’t have heard if it wasn’t for the near silence in his hotel room, the TV playing american psycho being the only other noise source.
he took a small breath, not knowing the topic of conversation before it started was something he always hated.
he liked interviews. interviews were planned, almost scripted, he knew the upcoming questions and he knew exactly how to answer them.
this wasn’t scripted. this was too real for him - life was often too real for him. “yeah baby?” he spoke back, his own tone just as hushed as the girls.
she hesitated, almost regretting striking up a conversation. “this hurts.” her quiet voice broke, calum shooting up to face her.
“what hurts, babe?” he questioned, placing a hand on her soft cheek, rubbing his thumb up and down. “tell me what hurts and i’ll fix it, okay?”
he’d never seen her so broken.
he knew she could be sensitive, micheal had warned him and his friends of that when they’d first met y/n. ‘be careful what you say, she gets hurt so easily.’
but calum had never truly believed such a thing, not once had he witnessed y/n cry, or even heard mention of her being upset from something he’d done. (poor oblivious calum, y/n was just very good at hiding it from him.)
“i don’t think you can fix it, cal.” she pouted, tears spilling from her eyes, her mascara beginning to run. “being.. this with you.. it really hurts”
he took back his hand, humming in silent agreement. he’d thought it for a while, he was almost hit with relief that she’d bring it up.
calum had always struggled at doing ‘casual’. he knew he needed to, especially now. if michael found out he was with the boy’s sister, he’d go crazy.
even then, it killed him. not holding her hand in public, not being able to kiss her whenever he wanted. not having the ability to really call her his.
“i just- i don’t want to be your maybe anymore.” she began playing with her shirt, the button suddenly becoming more interesting than calum’s eyes - though, to her, nothing ever really was. “it’s either we’re together or we’re friends. i’m not prepared to be neither, or both.”
calum remained quiet, unable to gather his words. he was rarely ever speechless, but times like this left him more than so. he was never good in sad situations.
“friends.. they aren’t what we are. they don’t love like us. if that’s what you want to be, be it. be my friend, but don’t keep hurting me like this.”
the maori boy smiled sadly, bringing a hand upward, tucking the girls hair behind her ear “i don’t want to be your friend, n/n.” he sighed, watching her face fall further, a thing he didnt quite think was possible. “i want to be your forever.”
a shocked look replaced the sadness, his words hitting her harder than ever, through sobs she brought his lips to hers, smile refusing to leave her face.
“i would love for you to be my forever, hood.”
(i wrote this at 2am don’t fault me if it sucks.)

Honestly i kind of think the mechanisms said ‘what passed between them then is perhaps too personal for us to speak of’ in hnoc because they actually just. don’t know what is said.
I mean. Not like they ever cared about keeping their characters privacy before so why would they now? That moment is the most emotionally charged moment of the album, the resolution of the finale and of one of the main plot strings (mordred being arthers child) so i cannot imagine them leaving it out because they wanted to.
Now there are a few options.
1. brian doesn’t know what happened. In my opinion really plausible because. well. he was still hanging. he wasn’t actually IN the room when the polycule-showoff happened so why would he know what is said? I think if this is what happened he knew about the showoff because of his prophocies, probably up until ‘I’m sorry father‘ which would also explain why he only tells arthur about his son, because that seems like the most relevant thing there (y‘know with mordred killing everyone and stuff)
I can only imagine him foreseeing that scene and kind of grasping at straws to think of what the hell to tell arthur to do in order to safe the world, eventually ending up at ‘so recognise, embrace and believe him’ because well. fatherly love can’t hurt, right?
2. he doesn’t want to tell.
a) maybe he knew that the mechs would forget him in the sun and that’s why he tried to prevent the world from ending, which would potentially make his not-telling a revenge fuck you to the rest of the crew for leaving him. This also makes sense because it would be justifiable in both mje and ejm mode and i can’t imagine none of the mechanisms tried switching his mode when he refused to talk.
This also makes me think of a distraught crew trying to get brian to talk, while he just sits there smug. Except for nastya whom brian has told before but enjoys their suffering too much to tell.
b) but also, they hadn’t actually seen him for a millennia at that point so maybe they forgot that switching his morality switch was a possibility. This gives us another option if they wrote the album while he was in mje mode: He saw what happened but genuinely thinks ‘its too personal for [them] to speak of’, which would mean that line came from him. Maybe because he was genuinely emotionally attached to mordred, arthur and their world, which also makes sense with his effort to safe the world.
Maybe after leaving earth the toy soldier flips the switch because it wanted something from him that he would only do while in ejm. Then, when jonny expresses his frustration again about brian keeping quiet he happily starts talking about what happened. The crew just stares tiredly. Raphaela asks why he decided to tell now (‚just because you wanted to annoy us? By waiting until we finished the last concert?‘) but before he can answer ts pipes in like ‘Oh No, I Just Switched His Mode! We Talked and Were Both In The Mood For A Fight But He Didn’t Want To Start It, So I Switched Him To EJM!’. When asked why it didn’t remind them of the switch when they made the album it says it didn’t think they forgot about such an important part of brian and just didnt want to switch for whatever reason. ‘I Wasn’t Sure What Your Reason Was, But I Just Thought It’s Not My Business!’ Cut to a lot of defeated deadpans (and a guilty frown from marius) and ivy announcing she’s going to bed.
3. he forgot. He did spend a millennia in the sun so like. What did they expect?? That he remembers every little detail? He’s not ivy.

adding to that earlier discusion abt morality
one of my fav characters is jesse pinkman and while he does bad things like killings i dont think he is a good person he kind of reminds me of levi because they both never enjoy hurting other and both care a lot about kids
so when jesse (spoilers ahead) killed this guy gale he was shown to really be affected by that and he spiralled into toxic behaviours. he didnt want to kill him but walter make him do so. so while yeah he did a bad thing he isnt a bad person.
Hey there, and as always, thanks for your asks!
The thing that's being claimed about "Attack on Titan" by people making this argument, that killing is always wrong, and so killing automatically makes you a bad person, is that the story itself pushes this message, but it doesn't. AoT doesn't actually present any, definitive answer on the question at all. It doesn't show us or try to convince us one way or another that killing is right OR wrong. All it does is present scenarios in which violence breaks out, and the various reactions to that violence and the subsequent outcomes of those reactions. It doesn't condemn or approve either reaction, but simply presents the circumstances and lets the audience decide for themselves what they feel is right or wrong based on those circumstances. Levi conveys this idea, and really encapsulates the nonjudgmental nature of the story itself, when he tells Jean that he doesn't himself know what's right or wrong, but only knows what the factual reality of the situation was, that reality being, if Armin hadn't killed the woman from Kenny's squad, Jean himself would now be dead, and the rest of them might be as well. He thanks Armin for his sacrifice, but also tells Jean that he should decide for himself what he believes is right and wrong. He doesn't try to impose any definitive answer or opinion on any member of his squad regarding the moral question of killing.
Armin says "we're bad people now" after they've killed other people, but Armin also refuses Reiner's offer to sit out fighting the Yeagerists at the dock just to keep his hands clean. Armin in that moment is acknowledging that it would be selfish to refuse to engage in violence only to preserve his sense of moral comfort and righteousness. The situation was desperate, and if Armin had refused to fight the Yeagerists, they never would have managed to obtain the airplane, and so they never would have been able to engage with Eren and, as a result, countless millions of people would have died.
So does that make Armin a bad person, because he engaged in violence to save millions of lives? Does this question even need to be asked?
Similarly, if killing is always wrong, and if killing someone automatically makes you a bad person, regardless of circumstance, does that mean it was wrong to kill Eren in the end, and does it make Mikasa and the others bad people for doing so, even though it saved millions of lives?
Instead of asking Armin if he thinks he's a good person or a bad person based on his actions in these situations, maybe it would yield a more accurate answer to ask the millions of people who were able to go on living because Armin chose to kill.
My point is, this question of what makes someone a good person and what makes someone a bad person can't be boiled down to ones actions alone. To judge the worth of someone's character based on their actions, without taking into consideration the mitigating circumstances surrounding those actions, the intent behind those actions, or a person's genuine feelings about those actions, is completely unfair and reductive. That sort of thinking and judgment only leads to making unfair and unjust generalizations and assumptions about others, which, as AoT shows us itself, can lead down some very bad roads indeed.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Morality is not a static concept. Calling someone "morally grey" is stupid, because morality itself is grey. No question of morality is set in stone. No question of morality is immutable. Like everything in life, morality and questions of right or wrong are dependent, always, on circumstance. How we measure ones morality isn't based on their actions alone, but on the reasons behind those actions.
Are we meant to accept that Levi is an immoral person because he kills other people? Regardless of the reasons for him killing? Regardless of his intentions or feelings? Are we supposed to condemn him as a monster and a bad man because he kills, and just ignore the motivation behind the action? Does Levi's kindness, compassion, selflessness and genuine desire to help others not count for anything simply because he's taken another person's life? Are Levi's positive qualities rendered worthless because he's engaged in violence?
That's what people who claim that killing another person automatically makes you a bad person, regardless of the reasons or circumstances, are saying.
They're saying, that because Levi has killed other people, it doesn't matter what the reason was, and it doesn't matter what his intention was, and it doesn't matter how he feels about it, he's bad for the act alone, and nothing else about him counts or redeems him. He doesn't get to qualify as a good person anymore, because he's violated some other persons fantasy about the immutability of moral principles.
It's stupid to try and make definitive statements on moral principles at all, because, again, morality isn't contingent on principle itself. It's contingent on circumstance and intention. If you kill someone because you think it's fun to do so, then that's morally wrong. If you kill someone to save your own life, or someone else' life, then that's morally right. Killing on its own can't be deemed morally right OR wrong. It's simply an action, one which alone does not reflect a persons moral values or worth.
Levi can be stated to be a moral person because he only kills in self-defense or in defense of others. He doesn't kill for personal pleasure or satisfaction. He doesn't kill out of petty revenge. He doesn't kill to win himself accolades or glory. He doesn't kill to hurt anyone. He kills when either himself or someone else is being threatened, and that's it.
Levi is irrefutably a good person because he contains within him multiple qualities which by any standard would mark him out as such. He genuinely cares about and wants to protect other people. He's deeply empathetic and sensitive to other people's feelings and wishes. He's incredibly kind and shows immense compassion toward other people and their circumstances, and does all he can to alleviate their suffering. He's selfless to a fault. He values life more than anyone else, and wants and tries to do all he can to preserve life.
To dismiss all of that, simply because Levi has killed other people to defend his own and other people lives, is not only unfair, it's frankly disgusting.

What were those theories about atsv you mentioned in the post with my ask? It's the Daily Yappathon™ so feel free to talk as much as you want :3 I'm all ears or eyes since I'll be reading this and not listening
OH YESSSSS >:]
so, miguel is wrong. just, dead wrong.
first of all, hes a fucking psychopath. he was stalking the other miguels family and when he died, he could replace him perfectly and no one noticed. and hes delusional, like bro, its not your life or your daughter, and just because you got attached to them doesnt give you the right to act like a psycho. if you want a family, download tinder or smth
second, i get that he was a little bit nice to miles in the beginning (even though he threw a trash can at him), but here he is.
???????????????????????????????????????????????
who gave you the right to act like that? chasing a teenager on all fours and choke slamming him into a fucking train and repeatedly calling him a mistake just because he refused to be part of your fucked up fake sustem?
because the canon is basically murder. letting people die "because they have to" is murder. and seriously, before the spider society existed, who took care of the canon? when miguel made the spider society, he also made the rules and he also made the canon. hes fighting a villain that he created.
also, miles is not an anomaly. if he was, his universe would have collapsed when the spider bit him. because thats what the supposed canon says, anomaly = universe falling apart. and yet, 1610B is very very stable. you know which universe did collapse?
miguel is projecting his problems onto everyone else. miles isnt the original anomaly, miguel is. and he knows that, but hes too emotionally immature to understand what 2+2 is.
miguel blames miles for everything, when nothing is actually his fault. miles didnt start the collider or kill peter or create the spot or anything. if you look into it, you understand that even though it seems that its his fault, it isnt. was miguel too bored to look into it? maybe.
& hes a drug addict. rapture is the most addictive drug the universe and hes addicted to it. whats 1+1 again?
from what i understood, it was jess' idea to save gwen in the beginning of the movie (also we stan mother jess 🙏), miguel was very hesitant to save gwen, which means he was full on going to leave her there. and he neglected her. and he sent her back. to her father. who pulled a gun on her. bro, you cant only take care of the people that comply to your system. its giving government
i get that he has trauma, but like, so does everyone else. peter b has trauma, miles has trauma, gwen has trauma, hobie has trauma, everyone in the society has trauma but you dont see them abusing minors. miguel is the only using trauma as an excuse to be a horrible person.
also, i have strong reasons to believe that jeff dying wasnt miles' canon event. i mean, it was, but not 1610 miles'. when the go home machine read miles' dna, it sent him to E-42, because thats where the spider that bit him was from (which was ohnn's fault, btw. its not your spider bro put it back). and thats what probably happened when miguel was seeing miles' "canon events". jeff dying was miles 42's canon event, and it happened. like, the one is fatherless and the other is uncleless. why does one have to be both uncleless and fatherless? bffr.
basically, miguel to me is this: "oh, look at me, im miguel ohara, im the leader of the spider society and that makes me 200% better than you, nothing is my fault ever, everything is your fault, im a literal fucking psychopath, id rather beat a teenager up than admit that im wrong, my ego is the size of the atlantic ocean and im a furry who doesnt know non-violent communication. grr 👹"
and im not a hypocrite, if miles had done something wrong, i would be able to realise that. like, "miles is a great character but thats where he made a mistake". but he didnt do anything wrong. he didnt know that the canon existed, he only wanted to save his dad.
and i know that if the roles were reversed, if miguel was the one who couldnt save someone he loved, he would do the exact same thing. and so would everyone else in the society, who took miguels side. like, didnt your moms teach you "dont treat people the way you dont want to be treated"??
and it pisses me off so much when people defend miguel, first of all youre defending an abuser and second you dont have any good arguments.
1. "miles shouldnt have ran" thats victim blaming. and seriously, youre telling me that if you saw this
chasing you, you wouldnt have ran? bffr.
2. "he has trauma, thats why hes aggressive" i already explained that before, but trauma isnt an excuse to be a horrible person.
yeah, there are a lot of shit arguments ive seen over time but i dont remember all of them.
also, hes not even hot. not that him being hot would excuse his actions, but then id partly understand when people liked him. but NOW? girl, he has 0 good angles and he looks like he hasnt showered in 3 months. you only like him because hes tall and has muscles and speaks spanish. have some self-respect
i wanted to say another thing but ive talked too much already lmao
#these arent really theories theyre just me yapping but yk#also now im fuckin pissed again#i hope he dies so i can dance to gagnam style over his grave#disrespectfully#️🫶🏻#miguel slander#atsv#selene core

Also hate how Lilith is just pretty much a plot device. I don't know what the game is doing now but I hate that she's pretty much there to speedrun a relationship between MC and the brothers.
And that's when MC is already developing a genuine bond with some of them.
But if there are any other instances of her being a plot device, I'd love to hear it.
i do wanna make it clear that this contrived plot point that is lilith does not drive forward the relationship on ALL of the characters. just the most difficult two to really complete the list. i refuse to believe that mammon, satan, leviathan, asmo AND beel didnt care about MC before this turd-bomb of a plot point happened, but i absolutely do believe that is the case for lucifer and belphie for different reasons.
i believe it is a method to sort of "punish" belphie by the games weird rule of telling but not showing. it was the first sign of cowardice on the writing team back then for pulling their punches and taking judgement out of our hands; something they honestly do not often enough and too much at the same time with more mundane things, but with it being a multiple choice type game, options were never really ours to make. just the illusion of it.
by making us the very distant relative of lilith we are punishing belphie for his rash action to anger and and giving us a contrived reason to feel bad for him afterwards. which doesnt work when hes still got the blood on his hands, diavolo hot on his trail, and lucifer coming to his defense.
its a plot point for lucifer because until you earn the trust of all his brothers, he could pretend to care, hell he might even care a teensy bit, but no matter how he feels about you, if there is a shadow of a reason as to how you could betray him and his brothers and use them against their will, there is a shadow of a reason for lucifer to not hesitate to kill you.
picture a scenario where all of the boys save for belphie (and consequently lucifer himself) are forced via their pacts to attack belphie as revenge for him attacking you. with belphie out numbers and his own brothers losing control of themselves to potentially kill him, lucifer would be his last defense against those odds. lucifer is nothing if not cautious and powerful, so he could hopefully subdue his brothers in due time. it also helps that in comparison to lucifer, each of his brothers as you go further down the line have a unique type of fear of him that could in theory ensnare them from continuing their assault on belphie at your command. ie. mammon is really afraid of lucifers wrath and more than anything wasnt to avoid having his credit card taken and being strung up from the ceiling for hours. aside from everyone else in the house, mammon is more powerful than THEM compared to lucifer. then next comes levi, a sort of spineless coward-like person i feel (when it comes to a fight anyway, you basically NEVER see him stand up for himself) and wouldnt want to face lucifer and deal with the punishment of that. and then you go further and further down the list and they get weaker and weaker as we go. satan cant combat lucifers spells, he himself far too busy learning how to cast them rather than protect himself from them. asmo is much like levi in that he would rather not lift a finger, if not for fear of broken nail than broken bone. despite this, he could fold beel like laundry (which still doesnt make sense to me but whatever i guess?) and speaking of beel the guy is built like a truck. hes also the only other one lucifer has physically struck with intention to subdue that was tied to a serious event. and i believe it was more than once at that.
my point being they were very specific and careful about who came in the pecking order, and it was for precaution that lucifer be the one able to straighten them all out in the end.
if there is an MC out there hellbent on destroying belphie, that is a person lucifer will never trust. and so its rather coincidental that in the heat of the moment we choose to forgive belphie, or at the very least put it off, until "months later" since the game jumps ahead in time a LOT since the killing in c.16 and the end of the years program in c. 20.
lilith being our distant relative was for belphie to feel shame, then quickly feel attachment, only for lucifer to see that if we all get along (or perhaps fall in love with belphie in that short period of time for the belphifuckers out there) hes allowed to feel something finally too. or at least let it show more.
so it was a speedrun not for all of the brothers. lucifer, while he wouldnt hesitate in killing you in an instant before belphie got close with you, i wont say didnt feel anything beforehand. he just puts his brothers before anything and everything; something he makes clear time and time again. it was a speedrun ONLY for belphie. lucifer and MC have a sort of slowburn going on, but to say that their relationship is speedran from c.16 onwards is disregarding the little moments beforehand that were special to his character.
as for if and when shes used as a plot point again later, that requires i redownload OG and look around for it there and honestly playing in a pit of spikes sounds more fun than that. playing nightbringer is already such a painful chore....
edit: im also trapped in the early episodes of season 2 bc i flopped so hard at that boring ass gameplay in the first one lol

Okay I’ve never done a submission before so I’m hoping I’m doing this right. I want to see Robin confront Luffy about Circè’s death and Rosè’s disappearance in Myth and God’s au for your special event if you can?
- @curlyhairednerd
--
(Okay I'm gonna test out a few hcs with this because I've been Thinking abt how they managed to take Rose and it would Not have been easy)
Robin was always a patient god. As a rule, she always believed that time revealed all, that information was gained through thoughtful observation. Thst was how she tended to conduct herself as well.
But not today.
She stormed up the mountain Luffy had been protective of recently, Chopper behind her holding something so incredibly precious that Chopper shouldn't have.
She finds the god of the sun in front of a shabby treehouse, sitting around a fire with two human children and smiling like nothing could be wrong. He didn't notice her at first - which had never happened before, his vision was supposed to be wide, wide enough to see this entire island at the very least.
But the children saw her and paled, Luffy looked only startled enough she could see it. Luffy was never startled. It didn't matter, what mattered was in Chopper's gentle hooves. "Doflamingo needs to be killed." She said firmly, and Luffy's posture shifted defensively.
He turned to the children. "Go to Makino." He said shortly, and the darker haired child looked combative, but his blonde counterpart dragged him away, eyes never leaving Robin as if she would hurt them. Maybe it was her fault she let her horns show and her hands multiply and her eyes glow but she couldn't care - she stayed hyperaware of the soul Chopper carried. Luffy looked at her gravely. "What happened?" He asked, and it made Robin's teeth clench because he should know. He was the god of light, he should see everything the light touches, he should have seen Circe's bloodied, broken body before Robin did. But here he was, burying his head in the sand.
"He took Circe from us." She hissed. "He tortured and killed her and we still can't touch him as per your deal with Usopp. If you don't fix this--"
"--He refused to see us." Chopper cut in. "Usopp won't face what Doflamingo is doing, Luffy. Why are you still on his side?" He sounded desperate, Robin hated it.
Luffy didn't look surprised at that. Robin hated it. "I'm not on his side - I'm just--"
"Hesitating." Robin snapped. "You know what's wrong, you know how to fix it, but you won't because you're a coward."
The god of the sun took the reprimand. "I care about Usopp, I won't go against him." He said after a second, and Robin hated it. Hated it. Hated it.
"You know who I cared about?" Robin muttered, gently plucking the soul from Chopper's grasp to show Luffy. "I cared about her. And your husband won't look at what he's done, and you won't either." She hissed. Luffy stared blankly at the soul in her hands. "If I didn't have to grovel, I wouldn't, but you're one of the only gods strong enough to oppose Usopp. If you don't fix this, then in the sea of mortals Doflamingo is killing I only hope those children don't get caught." She said finally, holding the soul close to her as her anger dulled into grief.
Luffy kept staring at all that was left of Circe. "Tell Ace and Sabo I'll be gone." He said, letting light - slightly wavering, sick - lick at his hair. The next second he was gone. Robin hoped that was enough.
--
Franky didnt know what to do with himself, when Robin had first brought a small, small child to him and told him Circe was dead. He'd gotten attached to mortals before, dozens and dozens of mortals he has grieved, but it never got easier. He never cried less, or recovered quicker, or changed to deal with grief. He never would, later he'd think he'd never want to, but now he was alone under Water 7 safe for the squirming infant that fit in his single human-form hand.
Her name was Rose, that's what Robin had told him, with rage enough to shake the ground before she left him to challenge light itself.
Rose was on the larger size for a baby - Franky wondered if she would be tall. He wondered if she would be brave and spirited and demanding and amazing like her mother. He wondered if Rose was old enough she would even recognize Circe if Franky showed her a picture.
Again the ground rumbled, and Franky looked up for his wife.
Instead he saw a lanky figure, void of all colour but the red eyes that stared squarely at him. Franky held Rose tighter to his chest. "What--"
The void shot forward, mouth open to show flat white teeth and nothing else, and before Franky could even hope to dodge the thing bit into the socket of his shoulder and pulled. Franky couldn't help the cutoff scream - gods didn't normally feel pain, they weren't supposed to, but this hurt. He quickly put Rose in the little hatch in his stomach, right before the void moved again. This time it's jaw snapped in open air as Franky just barely managed to dodge.
It's eyes never left him, a hand made of void shot forward and grabbed his leg, yanking him before opening its mouth again.
"Stop!" Someone called, and the thing halted. Franky's eyes shot to a small group of human marines. "You had your snack, any more and Robin might find you!"
The void never stopped looking at Franky, but it slowly closed its mouth.
Then it's hand covered Franky's eyes, and when he woke up, Rose was gone.
#submission#one piece#myths & gods au#Sorry this took so long! I fell asleep and then when I woke up I was still a slow writer#frobin#I've also never gotten a submission before so I also don't know if this is how this works

*cutely asks you about las nevadas era cquackity*
I am really interested and I think I missed a lore stream or two (I'm still tryna piece it all together)
tumblr FREAKING ATE MY DRAFT AGAIN IM SOOOOO PISSED OFF i should stop using the app for it to answer these.
But hehe yes i didnt think someone would actually outright ask me about las nevadas era cquackity but here we are. here is a extremely brief introduction to him/his motives. lmk if i should go more into detail on something specific/i missed a part that needs explaining.
first we need to establish WHY he even made las nevadas in the first place;;; which would be his need for power and more importantly a safe place for himself and the people closest to him. as you know in the manberg era he would be undermined, brushed off and stripped of his humanity/political power.
so, he recruits people (foolish sam charlie fundy purpled) by projecting his insecurities of being acknowledged and lack of power mentioned before, passing on the trauma and his pessimistic views on the world
lots of shit happens but here are the most important points that are from his pov specifically:
1- karl, losing his memory as a price for time travel, completely erases any good memories of quackity in his mind and basically destroys the chance of the three fiancees to get back together after quackity believing that they just didnt care for them. they made a nation without him while he built one for them all alone!
2- recruitment and loss of charlie. quackity as he does with everyone tries to project his pessimism onto other people, charlie being a PRIME example (his lessons for charlie) charlie always challenged quackitys beliefs whether he knew it or not. so even if it was working, charlie already knows much more than quackity from watching the server for years. for the first time in so long quackitys personal beliefs are being questioned, specifically for the first time after his spiral to a pessimistic and negative identity starting from pogtopia/manberg. quackity makes the “mistake” of trusting someone again, which led to the temporary downfall of his country (yes he reconstructed the country yes i refuse to believe it went down with the nuclear bomb as the whole dsmp finale the finale sucks freaking ass) . i think this might be a literal metaphor to charlie destroying and reconstructing his belief system but anyways. this is a core part of quackitys character development, but mind you we dont see it in a very direct sense and a lot of it is hypothetical.
3- cdreams prison escape. its self explanatory but it once again put his loved ones in danger. months of applying physical/psychological torture is an extremely violent show of his need of power over people/how he claims revenge from the “violence over words” thing he developped from his time as a vice president/presidential candidate. Q also loses a life indirectly from him too, being killed by charlie. pretty big stuff.
basically:
traumatized and pent up guy repeats history by constructing a country to build a safe haven for himself and his loved ones, to reaffirm status and confidence and to pass on his insecurities by projection. slime guy comes, he is forced to rethink what he believes in while trying to borderline manipulate him due to his naive nature. country is destroyed because history repeats itself 💣

Death is a Guide
Okay so i have realised that tumblr might be the place for my random obsessive analitical shit. So here goes:
Death in media is mostly portraied (from what ive seen) as one of two broad categories:
A: Death as the antagonist to life, the one who is the cause of all death and yearns to eradicate life. The Death that if killed would lead to dying not happening again because Death is portraied as the cause of it. Death is the reason life comes to an end. Often also the most evil of it all.
B: Death as a sort of guide. Death not as lifes antagonist but something of a companion. Death not as the one responsible for the end of ones life, but the one to guide you after said end. Deaths death would not make live everlasting because this Death was not the cause behind the end of life.
And in my overthinking mind i have today come to the conclusion that everyones favorite wolf is the latter altough he evidently does not behave like your typical guiding Death. Nobody asked but i will explain why anyway because i didnt see anybody else do it yet and i want to because it is fun.
I base this on two things specifically, one of which is the scene with the past lives of Puss.
Puss is rather shocked to find out Death himself has come to him because "Im still alive" and one of his past lives even states that what Death is doing is cheating. If not this then what else can tell us that Death is not the one meant to end the lifes of beings? Death is not the one ending their lifes, not the one who decides when a life is over because otherwise this wouldnt be cheating to begin with. If this is cheating then he is supposed to collect the souls after their demise, lead them to the afterlife or whatever other iteration you might choose for him.
He also does not object this statement, he only shushes it with a gesture like he is much aware of his own breaking of the rules and just does not care much about it. A motion somewhat akin to admitting that taking a life directly is not something he is supposed to be doing. Not part of his job as litterally Death.
Second thing is:
He is not an antagonist to live itself either. He is not Death because he has a hatred for live, quiet the opposite. He hates Puss specifically for having nine lives and valuing none of them. He lets him go when he starts to fight and live and VALUE his life. So instead of having a thing against life as a concept he has a thing against wasting life. Which is not much of a thing you would do if you sought to destroy life itself.
Honestly:
I think we all noticed that in some way. I think watching this movie everyone (in one way or another) is aware that Death is a Guide here. We are all aware that he is one of the most crucial parts in Puss's Character Developement in this movie because without the Fear of Death does not come the want to live. That is something you can hardly miss watching this movie and one of the parts that makes it so amazing for me.
But!
Where it gets really interesting for me personally is this:
I refuse to believe that an exsistense to cruical to the world like Death would not know his own role in it. It does not sit right with me to imagen Death himself would not know about how he is essentially a guide, a way for others to value the time they have alive because through him it is limited. And in some way he is also connected to that sentiment, to valuing life because if you don't it is evidently shown that it pisses him off.
So if he knows that, what does that mean?
I will not tell you that he never actually tried to kill Puss and how the cats character developing was always his goal, but i will lean out to say it was always a possibility he was aware of and a possible outcome he didnt object with.
I like to see Death first going out of his way to meet Puss at this bar as a plan with two possible ends for him:
1. He gets to cut work short and even have a little fun by fucking with someone he does absolutly despise for the ego twice his size.
2. Someone starts to value their last life before throwing it out the window.
Both of which options he (evidentially through the end) is at least okay with. I can go on another tangion of why i believe that he was not as invested in the chase at the first encounter as he was in the last and why i believe he wouldn't have been as pissed if he has scared some sense into Puss in their first encounter. But i think one is enough for now.
So while Death does not act as your typical guiding figure i do believe he is aware that he is one. He was always aware that Puss changing was something his interference could lead to and that was at least part of the potential his plan held.
I never know how to end my own rambling so i will just end it here.
In short i really just love thinking about him because he does make a great character with various things to dip into.

drunk rambling about mark and sampson below
their dynamicmakes me insane i need content for them SO BAD. sampson said and i quote that he thinks there was something real at thebeginning of their relationship BUT NEITHER OF HTEM CAN TELL (BECAUSE SAMPSON CANT REMEMBER) WHEN HE GOT BLOOD BONDED TO THAT SUTPID FUCKING THINBLOOD ABUSER ASSHOLE FUCK and sampson started spying on mark and MARK FORGAVE HIM SO FAST FOR CHEATING ITS INSANE because he felt SO BAD about the whole thing and felt like it was his fault evne if rationally he KNEW it isnt his fault he got targeted but BECAUSE OF THE DAMN BLOOD BOND TO JULIUS (HIS SIRE) he cant blame HIM for it so who else is left ? that dam nthinblood? well he got killed so who is left? HIMSELF so Mark wants the world of sampson but is SO SCARED sampson is gonna resent him once HIS blood bond to mark wears off and is also SO SCARED that the blood bond wearing off is gonna fuck him over but ALSO caNNOT bring himself to force sampson to be blood bonded agian because of all of SAMPSONS TRAMUA but anyway is SO WORRIED about corssing boundaires cause hes so worried sampson nly stayed with him cause he was forced to to spy that he wont call sampson Sammy aymore which he used to. its a whole thing. god. god god god . i dont know if sampson loves him anymoire but if he does im going insane. he wont say it. prob due to being worried but like. holy shit. i need a happy ending for sampson so bad idc if he gets back w mark or not but he needs to be happy. mark is trying so hard to make sampson hapy but sammy has SOOOOOO MUCH TRAUMA and its HORRIBLE what happened to him and the camarilla is so fucked.
and mark is just some guy who didnt ask for ANY OF THIS and he JUST WANTED TENURE and to find LOVE in a HOMPPHOBIC SOCIETY but now the MAN WHO LOVES IS AT RISK FOR JUST BEING ASSOCIATED W HIM AND HES NOT EVEN SURE IF HE LOVES HIM ROMANTICALLY OR NOT ANYMORE BUT HE IS SURE HE LOVES HIM. and hes gonna do his damndest to make everything work out but he knows hes fucked. but fuck. he just wants sammy to be happy man but is too scared to share in that happieness. and he refuses to believe sampson still loves him until he says it. it hurts him so bad that probably the last 2 years of their relationship are a lie. he feels like a fool. so he jsut focuses on all the shit in his life right now cause theres a FUCKING LOT OF IT to resolve but once he resolves it. hes gonna have to confront that hes horribly lonely. so horribly lonely. who does he have left? he cant tell anyone everything
except
for julius who he loves because of the blood bond; julius chose him. hes spcial. julius is so amazing and powerful and handosme nad perfect. but hes evil. on some deep deep level mark knows this. but hes blood bound. hes trapped. he loves him. he can Tell Julius Anything. and He Should
except
in their first meeting he said "you can have many sammys" flippantly. he doesnt care about sampson at all. it is showing that julius does not Care about humans in the same way. the phrase HAUNTS mark. its SO FUCKED UP. how could he love someone who says this ? You cant just replace people like that.
so he doesnt fully open up to julius, due to his love for sampson, this stupid fucking bartender who flirted with him for tips.
this is massive cringe
wow. i love them.
