finally, after one of the longest shifts of caitlyn's life, she gets to clock out, grab her stuff, and start on the long walk home. it's pouring rain and far too late to be anywhere except home. the streets are empty. piltover is quiet. she sighs. just how long was she at her post? her feet hurt from walking and standing for hours straight. 

she unlocks the front door and sets her umbrella down on the mat, expecting her wife to be asleep. now that she can finally see the time, it's 2am. god, she's tired. she walks into the kitchen-

"cait!!"

vi, who was sitting on the counter with an energy drink, bolted over to her beloved and pulled her into a bear hug, almost knocking the poor girl over.

"i missed you so much, cupcake."

"you knew where i was."

"doesn't mean i'm not worried."

cait sighs and tries to pull away slightly, to no avail. "vi, i need to change.. and eat.."

"what do you want for dinner?"

"i was gonna make something myse-"

"let me do it. you've had a long day. you deserve a rest."

"..fine."

cait falls asleep at the dining table not even minutes later. vi finishes (under)cooking some pasta and walks over to her, trying to shake her awake. and when that fails, she puts the pasta in the fridge, throws her energy drink away, and scoops her up to bring to bed. "what am i gonna do with you, cupcake?"-----

Some of these “Tobias is a horrible father” takes are pissing me the hell off 😭😭😭 we saw him in ONE SCENE???? People already complain about the pacing like what do you WANT! His wife and the mother of his only child got BLOWN UP! Caitlyn hid so much of what she was feeling already like what did you really want from him lmao

Caitvi professing their love for each other without words in s1 with the bedroom scene, Caitlyn brushing her hand in Vi’s cheek and Vi holding on, and in s2 with the sex scene, giving and taking as much as they can.

Caitlyn and Vi aren’t necessarily bad with their words, Vi is a waxing poet herself (ie “oil and water” & “the dirt under your nails”), but the way their actions say so much more than any words they could manage is just *chefs kiss*.

one thing i feel isn't talked about enough is how caitlyn visually changes over the course of the series. from the decorative and honestly kind of silly looking skirt uniform in s1, to her zaunite disguise that strips all of that away, to the commander uniform in s2, to her tactical gear in the final act

THIS change in particular is so important. her commander uniform, with or without her little dracula cape, reeks of status. it's more functional than her original uniform, but it's still covered in decorative ruffles, gold trim, and symbols that represent her role as piltover's commander and the head of house kiramman

it's all gone in act 3. she wears her hair loose. her outfit is incredibly simple. the tactical gear she wears in the final fight is not only practical, but it does next to nothing to distinguish her from the other soldiers. she also switches to wearing much darker colors, deep navy and black, rather than the royal blue of the OG enforcer uniforms

to me, THAT is the real caitlyn. she's not wearing a uniform or a disguise. she's not putting on airs or attempting to make herself look like she's this perfect, put together person. she's being herself for the first time in the entire series. no titles or pretense, nothing unnecessary in the way. just her
