Kopaka: the flesh would be willing but the soul is so complicated about it. lay down back to back with him and pretend to sleep to make him slowly turn around and snuggle. WILL wake up early to destroy the evidence. the chill is worth the annoyance

Turaga Metru: only yield to 2-second-long cuddles if exhausted. if you pile all six on one another they will automatically snuggle together though

Toa Hagah: only with each other and still very professionally

Turaga Dume: no (the warmth is NOT worth it)

Takanuva: yes, serial snuggler no. 2

Jaller: yes but you have to sort of casually brute force him into it. will fall asleep five seconds into snuggle

(hi i’m struggling with depersonalization real bad rn so i’m giving my problems to Darlin’, sorry)

Darlin’ struggles deeply with derealization and depersonalization. They feel so disconnected to themself and their body and their life and everyone around them.

Sam will sometimes catch Darlin’ staring at themself in the mirror, a distant and distressed look on their face. He gently talks to them—not touching just talking—to try and distract them and pull them away from the mirror.

Other times, Darlin’ will wake in a terror, temporarily not knowing where or who they are. Sam holds them, whispers over and over their name and his name. He assures them they are home, they are safe.

Sometimes it’s really bad. Sometimes Darlin’ spirals, feeling so trapped in a body and a life that feels foreign and not theirs. When they get to that point, Sam will lead them to the woods. He’ll urge them to shift. To run. And he’ll race alongside Darlin’ for however long they need.

Eventually, Sam can recognize the signs earlier on from just a glance. He’ll ask if he can touch, and if they nod yes he’ll take their hand and they’ll go for a walk. Or he’ll make them food or light their favorite candle or play some music—anything he can do to ground Darlin’ in their senses, in what is real and tangible and present.

If he can make them laugh, though, they come back immediately. Sam will sit there telling stories and jokes until giggles bubble up in Darlin’s chest and clear away any panic they feel. It can be tricky but when it works, it really works. Nothing makes Darlin’ feel more present, more themself, than when Sam makes them laugh.
