Noble Boarding School AU

I’m disappointed in the shortage of Noble Boarding School AUs, so my brain just birthed one.

Quick note: Cale here stands for og!Cale.

Now, picture this: instead of waiting for years to start acting out, Cale Henituse age eleven convinces Deruth to send him to a noble boarding school. Violan is pregnant with Lily so the timing is just right, Cale wants to create the narrative that he’s getting kicked out.

Deruth is unsure, but Cale convinces him by throwing a fake tantrum after fake tantrum. He’s sick of being stuck at home all day, he says; he needs friends, yadda yadda. Cale relentlessly pushes and pushes and pushes, until Deruth finally gives up.

Cale has a plan! He’s going to become the worst troublemaker this school has, tarnish his reputation to the point his family is ashamed of him and the vassals can’t plead his case any longer, then make a huge mess to get expelled in a couple of years.

—except, Cale’s plan ends obliterated when he accidentally becomes the first year’s valedictorian.

"No, I was not standing up for the students! I was just complaining!", "I didn't intend to expose the staff corruption, I was trying to start trouble!" "I was trying to start a riot, not to form an student council!"

Who’s here:

Alberu — Reason: scammed the Queen.

Basically, she wanted to get rid of him to cement her children’s positions in the palace without his interference and tried to send him abroad.

Alberu is no fool and recognizes this is a good opportunity for networking: however, he won’t let his enemies peacefully get rid of him. He says ‘hell, no’ and pulls a Perez (In This Life, I Will Be The Lord/I Shall Master This Family) making the Queen pay him out of her own pocket to get rid of him.

Rosalyn — Reason: fooled her parents.

Our gal just wanted to study magic and the academy has a magic program, she basically lives a double life and her family has no idea.

Taylor Stan (uncrippled) — Reason: buying himself some time away from his crazy family to network in peace.

Eric Wheelsman & Gilbert — Reason: I just want them there.

I wouldn’t include Amiru because I’d like Amiru to focus in her own territory, therefore being homeschooled.

The reason why I’d add Gilbert is because, well, if the school has a magic program why not a knight program as well? Yes, it is just an excuse so I can add Choi Han as well.

I also would make Kim Rok Soo transmigrate as a teacher or something, too.

I have a headcanon that Eric Wheelsman realised that our Cale is not Og!Cale, that some kind of identity theft happened when no one was looking.

There's just a few problems that caused him to keep his silence.

There no evidence, so who would believe him?

Even if anyone believe him, they probably won't care because the current Cale is more likable than that previous trash.

Should he say anything? After everything that current Cale has done and continues to do for them?

Why did no one notice this? Is he perhaps the crazy one?

There is nothing to backup this headcanon, I only thought of it after noticing Eric's suspicious absence from the narrative.

also Rise of the Guardians was peak and i can't believe i forgot about it till just now when i saw a video about Jack and The Easter Bunny being gayer than they remember

Eric comes to visit.

Through a short exchange of letters between Deruth and Count Wheelsman that Cale had known nothing about, Eric and his family go to visit the Henituse county.

The Wheelsman's arrived midday, they were greated by the entire Henituse family sans Cale.

Eric was only a bit disappointed by this- Of course he's heard the rumors. But he still hasn't seen Cale in so long...

His father and Count Deruth went off to talk business in Deruth's office, while Countess Violan invited his mother and sister for tea.

Meaning he was basically left alone.

He held short conversation with Basen and Lily, dismissing himself when it was appropriate.

Eric decides to go see Cale.

While he asked one of the maids for Cale's whereabouts, they responded in "He usually goes out drinking this time of day.."

There's a knot in his chest that only keeps growing.

And when Eric overhears a servant insulting his dongsaeng, calling him 'trash', he gives them a glare that seems so unusual on is normally calm face.

It's already the next day and Eric hasn't seen a hair of Cale...

Is he being avoided?

He assumes that he'll get the chance to spend time with Cale during breakfast but the redhead isn't there.

Naturally, he asks one of the butlers, he thinks their name is Ron?

"Excuse me but is Cale back yet?"

Eric ignores the sudden silence that has consumed the table.

"Yes, Young Master Eric. Young Master Cale returned last night."

"Has he eaten breakfast yet?"

"No sir."

Here, Deruth chimes in with a slightly sad face.

"Ah. As much as I'd like for him to join us, he usually declines."

"I'll go join him then!" Responds Eric with a smile.

For some odd reason, this once again silences the Henituse family. The air is slightly awkward.

"What a wonderful idea Eric! Do tell him to come down soon. I'd like to catch up with him!"

With his mother's approval, Eric stands from the table and only pauses when he hears a quiet- "Why...?"

It was from Young Lady Lily.

"Well.. it's no fun to eat alone, is it?"

Kim Rok Soo’s knowledge about the new world he is in was all from the novel titled ‘Birth of a Hero’. That and whatever he had read in his study at the Henituse castle.

So when those reddish-brown eyes of his landed on an unknown figure that looked important, he was confused. Good thing Eric Wheelsman has his back, aware that his dongsaeng is not up to date in whatever’s going on in the capital.

“I’m not sure if you’ve heard of them but that’s _____ Perduellio, known as Roan Kingdom's Medicus[1], and they are a northeasterner too. They have been adopted by the Perduellio family who is aligned with the Gyerre Duchy.”

The person in question was busy running around healing whoever they could. They were wearing a white robe that reminded Cale of Ancient Greece or Egypt[2]. However, this one looks more luxurious as unnecessary details have been added such as gold linings, sash, beads, and crystals.

Despite all those details what caught Cale Henituse's attention was not their clothing. Rather, the number of guards they have following them.

“It is said that they have a weak body so they have guards everywhere. The story was that the Perduellio couple encountered _____ on the streets when they were 4 years old and immediately felt a connection that’s why they were adopted. Then 5 years later, they manifested a healing ability that seems to be a blessing from the Sun God. Oh, they can also perform small light tricks. In fact, I think they were supposed to showcase some of it today.”

Midway through Eric’s words Cale had stopped paying attention. Instead, he observes the adopted Perduellio. Eric might say that the guards are there for _____’s safety, but to the redhead, it looks as though they are guarding a criminal.

‘Oh well it’s not like I’ll meet them anytime so not my problem’

…Cale spoke too soon.

After the plaza incident, Crown Prince Alberu requested for that very same person to be Cale’s healer. It was to strengthen that image of the crown providing the young master of the Henituse County with the best as he recovered. 

While Cale understands and agrees with the intention, he has a hunch that this decision will smack him in the back later.

“Don’t worry young master, I know all information about young master _____ and have deemed them safe! Actually, the second child of the Perduellio family is said to be something akin to an unofficial maiden of the Sun God. The only reason it’s unofficial is because they are not officially affiliated with the Sun God Church as the Perduellio’s said their health would not be able to handle it.”

Cale, who is now relaxed and lying down on a bed meant for foreign officials, became a bit interested in this fact. Even though the Roan Kingdom has no official religion, families would still consider it a great honour if one of their relatives were deemed a saint or a holy maiden.

“The young master also doesn’t have to worry about political battles. Even though the Perduellios support the third prince, young master _____ is known for not taking any political sides. This is especially true when it comes to helping those in need. It is also why the young master is famous even with the common people.”

What Hans said brought some relief to Cale’s mind. He already has enough on his plate and he doesn’t want to add to it by joining a political strife. But even if he did he’s sure he could make the crown prince act as his shield. 

Hans finishes his report by saying that Cale is to be healed 2 times before the King gathers everyone and makes a proclamation. Each session will last up to 30 minutes only. This was because the crown prince insisted that no guard shall enter Cale’s room while _____ is healing him. The limited time is the Perduellio County’s compromise as they reasoned they don’t want _____ to become sick.

“Humans are odd, why are they healing other people when they are sick? Well, you weak human also save people when you are weak yourself…”

Cale pays no attention to the black dragon’s ramblings in his head as he observes _____ who has come to heal him. 

“That’s odd, I thought the guards were for that human’s safety. Why do they look more relaxed now that those guards are gone?”

He can’t hear anything. Cale can’t hear anything. Blah. Blah. Blah.

He doesn’t need to know any more unnecessary details that might potentially hinder his slacker life. He has already heard too much about the crown prince, no need to find out secrets about this healer that weren’t even mentioned in the book.

However, he can’t deny that the guards are acting odd. They are too strict with the time, and instead of it looking like they are worried. To Cale, it looks as if Roan's Medicus is a prisoner who’s granted limited visiting time.

During the two sessions everyone, Cale and the children averaging 7 years old, could tell that the healer knew that Cale was fine and didn’t need to be healed. This is more prominent by how the only thing they seem to be doing is removing Cale’s stomachache from eating while lying down and replenishing his energy.

Speaking of replenishing his energy.

The Vitality of the Heart works wonders when it comes to keeping Cale in tip-top condition 24/7. However, _____ makes him feel more refreshed. Every time the healer replenishes his energy he feels as though he has taken a particularly good bath. As if he was soaking in freshwater where the temperature was just right. 

Weird considering that their power is supposed to be from the Sun God.

“Human this is weird! That human seems to be using a new power, but don’t worry this great and mighty being can tell that it isn’t dangerous!”

Maybe if Cale tries really hard enough then he will not hear unnecessary comments that can jeopardise his slacker life…

“This is our last session correct?”

“Yes, uhm as you already know young master Cale, this will be the last time I get to officially check on you. You seem to be fine now but try to rest if you can. I heard that you’re going sightseeing in the Ubarr territory, I hope the sea can help you relax.”

Their soft and gentle voice along with tempting words about resting, slacking off in Cale’s vocabulary, sounded like music to the young man’s ears. Unfortunately, his itinerary in the Ubarr territory doesn’t line up with the doctor’s prescription.

“Really weird… Now that I pay more attention to it, they kinda smell like you human…”

But first, Cale is going to pretend to be deaf for his sanity…

Also, smell? Again? Just what does he smell like? First, it was the crown prince, then it was this baby dragon. Why does everyone have questions regarding smell?

In any case, it’s not like they’ll meet again right?

Wrong again! 

Cale was unfortunate enough to encounter the healer again while they were in the Dubori territory of the Caro Kingdom. Poor Cale was planning to pretend he didn’t see anything. But since his luck seemed negative, they made eye contact as soon as he thought of his great plan.

Well, it’s only right to properly greet his healer back in the capital right?

“I didn’t expect to see you here young master _____ much less without guards.”

“Ah no young master Cale, I still have them. They are just currently changing shifts so I have a few minutes to myself.”

A few minutes to themself… Perduellio’s adopted child said in their usual soft, gentle, and almost inaudible voice that Cale wouldn’t have caught it if they weren’t in close proximity. Cale had known since back at the capital how soft-spoken _____ was but didn’t expect that it would be this difficult to hear them.

However, he still caught and heard those words.

Words that again, sound as though there’s more to _____ than being the precious adopted child of the Perduellio’s family.

“However young master Cale, you look as though you are going beyond the territory walls. Please be careful as I’ve read about a phenomenon occasionally happening there.”

“What could that be?”

“I’ve read in an ancient text that dead mana rises there sometimes, but no one knows when it happens…”

_____ suddenly stopped speaking as they noticed a few things:

Their guards are coming over, and;

Tasha caught their eye

“Oh seems like my guards are here. Also, I would like to apologise as I didn’t realise…”

The usual prim and proper _____ is now rushing to get back to their guards making Cale unable to hear the last bit of their sentence. 

Good thing the invisible black dragon did.

“Human! That weird human knows that Tasha is a Dark Elf! While they were bowing to you I heard them say ‘I would like to say sorry as I didn’t realize you have a Dark Elf with you’.”

What now? Cale couldn’t comprehend how _____, whose supposed power was only healing and light magic tricks could know. So he asked Tasha if any nobles knew about her.

“Me as a Dark Elf? No way young master, that’s like asking for a death sentence. However, I am a bit close to Perduellio’s blessed child. Even though they are blessed by the Sun God, their healing powers don't have any purification in them.”

Safe to assume that _____ has known about Tasha for quite a while now but hasn’t said anything.

Cale can feel an additional headache coming. He has a hunch that this would be far from the last time he deals with that healer.

And wouldn’t you know…

Not even a day later Cale encounters _____ again. This time it’s in the most unlikely place you’ll see a child of the Sun God would be. 

The City of the Dark Elves.

Or the City of Life as they named it.

It was a peaceful morning, their stay in the City of Life was extended because of the dead mana rising. Despite that, Cale didn’t mind as he planned to take this chance to sightsee and talk to the necromancer. 

“Young master Cale, young master _____ is now in our healing ward. I don’t know what happened to them but they seem to be in bad shape. I figured I’d let you know as they were your healer previously. I have also sent a message to the crown prince.”

…Who would have thought the first thing Cale gets to sightsee in this city of life is this world’s version of a hospital.

‘Ah damn it, why is my intuition always right?!’

[1] Medicus is the Latin term for healer that stemmed from Medeor that means to heal or cure

I was cooking up a miraculous au for LCF/TCF

Then I thought, why not make an og Cale x Alberu one?

So, here you go:

(this isn't set in that au but a separate miraculous one)

Alberu Crossman as Adrien

Bob as Cat noir

og Cale Henituse as Marinette

Regressor (might come up with something else later idk) as Ladybug

White Star as Hawkmoth

I'd like to say they're not highschoolers or whatever they are in miraculous ladybug, they go to college or something

The miraculouses would also be bit different:

Og Cale: lady bug

Alberu: fox

Choi han: cat (haha)

White Star: butterfly

KRS is og Cale's cousin, in spirit, like they're not related but he was declared so

KRS's of course besties with the Soos and mostly hangs out with them. He wouldn't really make much appearances but does have some important scenes that I'll get to later on

The ws is not related to Alberu btw but his father is giving Gabriel so of course he's put in some sort of Adrien role

WS would call the hero version of og Cale 'a bug under his shoes' btw xdd

Alberu and og Cale go to the same college or something, not the same year probably

Their families are rich and they often need to attend a banquet or two here and there, even hold some

og Cale usually refuses to go, he makes up excuses, spills a drink here and there, brings up his actually pretty real injuries he got some places to get out of attending these events

Because of that it's mostly Basen who attends them but there are times Cale can't get out of going. Ron picks his outfits for that btw

Cale doesn't hang out with people much because he's trying to distance himself, despite his best efforts the eastern nobles still stick to him

He appreciates it really, but feels guilty possibly ruining their reputation. Eric Wheelsman does not care and drags him to places even outside of these events in an attempt to 'teach him better manners' but actually just to hang out

About Alberu's hero name- he was asked by a reporter but he internally panicked a little about will they won't they recognize him so Regressor who was next to him just told them he's Bob

Alberu's expression turned to a mix of offended disbelief and resigned acceptance at that. This is the last name anyone would associate with 'Alberu Crossman' though so he might as well use it... temporarily, then he'd come up with a better name later and correct it

Needless to say, later never came and he got stuck with it. No matter what he tells reporters it's a lost cause now. :(

The first akuma they take care of would be Toonka's. He gets very offending at some people looking down on him for not excelling in academics and overwhelmed by emotions gets himself akumatized

His akumatized version's name is 'The Tyrant' and makes him have enhanced strength as well as making him have stone skin, anyone he touches turns to that

Cale, Alberu make their debut subduing The Tyrant as Regressor and Bob. This is the first time they meet as their hero versions and despite some hiccups they manage to work together pretty efficiently

They get help from the Black Yong (Choi han hero name) who usually works together with Flame Mage (Rosalyn hero name) and Blue Wolf (Lock hero name)

They go on working together often because of the ladybug and cat miraculouses but usually Black Yong works with his own group

As time passes the Regressor and Bob duo work together with Black Yong and the others often enough to be counted as honorary members tho they still have their little own group or smth

(Unrelated but Choi han is like actually older than these two by quite a bit... It's the opposite of a Leorio situation, where instead of looking way older than he is, he looks way younger

He is the uncle of at the minimum-a-teenager Choi Jung Soo after all)

At first they don't know about how the akumas work because no one told them. It takes Cale panicking he doomed the whole place and them running around a bunch to solve the problem and agree to work together from now on if the need arises because it's just more efficient.

Regressor has a flashy style while Bob tends to work with or from the shadows (his Alberu persona is flashy enough as it is), Dark Yong is the brute of the group. Between all of them combined he has the most strength and stamina, uses sword arts to bring out the most of it while Regressor got the power of time that allows him better agility and Bob uses illusions to back them up and confuse enemies. All in all, through trial and error, practice and shouting matches, they make it work somehow.

There are other people who join them sometimes but everyone sorta got a set piece of the city they should look after

Another idea for an akumatized person would be Cage as the 'Crazy Priestess'. She got upset over Taylor Stan, her close friend, being bullied by his brother and some others.

I imagine one time Cale also almost got akumatized but recognizing the type of butterfly he just started frantically swatting at it and it somehow worked out xdd

Regressor likes teasing and getting under the skin of Bob as much as possible. Brings up his name every possible occasion but stops if he sees 'Bob' truly upset. He based his whole life over analyzing people's reactions so he always notices pretty quickly. He also pokes at Black Yong but he's more than ready to throw hands at insults.

Sometimes, Cale uses that to get injured enough to not need to go to events... after finding out Black Yong and Bob both pay attention not to fall for these destructive schemes.

Cale has a habit of trying to shake others off because he believes they're better of without him in general and Alberu likes to keep people at an emotional distance to protect himself from unmatched expectations from them so these habits sometimes show their ugly heads even with their hero personas. They work trough it tho, both as civilians and when they occasionally have some deep talks as heros.

They work as a group but often times they go work as pairs or solo as well when one of them is not available or busy fighting elsewhere. Black Yong can handle himself just fine, has been doing it for a while just not so publicly, Bob and Regressor often get things done together when they're still starting out (mostly because they're still figuring out how things work)

Regressor is different than Cale because he lets himself express the repressed parts of his personality. Working as a hero also helps him open up to the people who care about him because with every challenge he learns, with any 'mission' he slowly realizes a little more about himself and relationships in general.

Bob is also a 'more free' version of Alberu where despite him being covered from head to toe in a hero costume, this is when he can throw away his masks (however ironic that might be). He lets himself be openly exasperated way more often.

To get go to the shipping part- finally haha

Cale/Regressor likes Bob, is infuriated by Alberu Crossman but in a way that he keeps bringing him up with his 'fake smile' and 'smirking eyes' so much that people are questioning why and when he got so obsessed over the guy

Bob one time tries to defend Alberu's (his own) honor before Regressor/Cale only to be faced with the biggest theatrical betrayed look the other can manage to pull off, mouth open, eyebrows furrowed and everything

Alberu/Bob gave up on genuine romance long ago but is developing some feelings for Regressor. It's slow but definitely there. It's the first time this happened to him so he's still figuring out what to do about it but pretty much decides he'll just enjoy what they have till it lasts. He feels curious about Cale Henituse after they had one too many meetings and the other seems keen on laughing in mock silence whenever he gets swarmed by other rich idiots trying their chances with him

One time, to escape said fate at a banquet of sorts, he makes his way to the other and invites him to a dance with eyes that say 'you better say yes or I'm telling on you drinking after your Eric-hyung specifically asked you not to a minute ago'. Cale debated causing a scene to get out of it but after seeing the eastern nobles approach with Eric at front coming with big measured steps, he decided might as well take the offered hand before he gets both an earful about his drinking habits and also a lecture about instead pouring those liquid on others. Alberu couldn't figure out if the other agreeing with just a slight frown was a win or not.

They were both taught dancing as custom from a young age and thanks to it put on quite the performance while exchanging occasional jabs disguised as compliments and accidental compliments disguised as jabs.

If Alberu spent the night thinking about that dance more than he'd like to, that's only for him to know, and if Cale went home from the occasion in a surprisingly better mood than he arrived in, he'd say it was because he could finally leave that stupid place. And if his face flushed thinking back on it, he'd blame it on the alcohol.

Some things to mention,

people would be asked to take precautions because of the akuma attacks, if they see suspicious butterflies coming towards them, run the other direction or think happy thoughts

The heros would be investigating the White Star and his forces as civilians too, trying to solve the issues. It might even bring together some of them outside of costumes

The final fight would go something like this-

most heros are already out of commission (either their miraculouses are taken or they're simply knocked down) and some civilians get caught up in the battle

Regressor has already detransformed and frantically checking up on anyone nearby especially those he knows. The only thing slightly calming him is the fact his family is nowhere near the battle. Well, except his so called cousin, Kim Rok Soo. He was there with Choi Jung Soo. Choi han tried getting to them but he's already been grabbed by the White Star by the arm. Bob is nowhere to be found (he's actually on the other side trying to get people out of the battle zone faster with the police or something and also engaged with some of Arm's forces). Lee Soo Hyuk was nearby thankfully and grabs his two idiots to run to safety. Cale gets knocked out.

KRS while running notices some miraculouses where left around (he knows what they are from before), picks them up quickly and him being the unexpected variable needed to defeat the ws, the heros win. See? There's your important KRS scene. He was not used to using miraculouses tho and sorta gets knocked out because of it too xd

Now, there's a lot we can go into more detail about, especially what the heck was really going down in this fight, where are the other heros? How do they 'win' exactly?

There's also the shipping part that we could go into more detail about but this is it for now, maybe in another post :D

I only watched the first 2-3 seasons of miraculous and the movie so if my understanding of the world building is inaccurate it's most probably because of that

I have more ideas for this if you're interested btw, I should just try organizing them

Number 23 is a short au/snippet today because I was literally working the entire day.

Au: Kim Rok Soo was Cale Henituse’s son. (Partially inspired by the very few fanfics where this concept is utilized).

[ “Papa…can I see the picture again..?

“Of course.”

“Who’s that, papa?”

“That’s Eric Wheelsman. He was papa’s best friend.”

“He looks like a coward.”

“Haha, well, he was always the anxious type, but that never stopped him from standing up for his friends. There was no one whose heart was as big as his. He was also my…hyung.”

“…”

“What about him, papa?”

“Oh, that’s Gilbert Chetter. He didn’t talk much. His face was so stoic, you’d think it was a rock. Kinda like you.” “Ow!”

“Not funny.”

“Ok, ok. He didn’t really show emotions much, but he still found ways to take care of us.. He was always making sure we’d eaten our meals, and checked on us every night just to make sure we weren’t overworking ourselves.”

“Sounds like he had it rough..”

“What’s that supposed to mean?!”

“…”

“And who’s she?”

“That’s…. Your mother.”

“She’s pretty.”

“Yeah..”

“What’s her name?”

“Amiru… Amiru Ubarr… She was a lot like you. Reserved, but kind. She beat sense into me when I would do something stupid. She was calm and patient most of the time, but fiery when she wanted to be. She was smarter than even the King himself..She was amazing..”

“Papa….Do you think in my next life, I could meet mama…?”

Cale looked down at his son’s face. Even covered in injuries and poison, he didn’t cry. His green hair almost seemed brown from the blood sluggishly seeping from a head wound. Tired but sharp reddish brown eyes, like that of his father, but his gentle smile is all hers. Just like hers, when he held her as she breathed her last. Still so innocent and beautiful. Too beautiful for this doomed world.

Cale knew it wouldn’t be long now. He should’ve seen it coming, everyone always leaves him in the end, but just this once….he’d hoped he could selfishly hold on to the only light he had left in this life. But fate deemed him unworthy of this beautiful gift.

“Of course you will. Hey, when you meet her, tell her I’m right behind you. Got it?”

“I’ll tell her you’ll take your t-time. You have to-to live. And eat…lots of delicious food.. p-papa…living is..the..best….”

“…”

“…Arden..?”

“…A-Arden?”

“Arden!”

And with that, Cale Henituse, at 36 years old, lost his only remaining family. His son, at the age of 8, was killed in an attack led by the ones they thought were their allies.]

Randomly had this thought a month or so back. We never see the Northeastern trio! And we never ship Amiru with Cale! Not me wanting to give depth to extras.. Also, why not ship Cale with Amiru? It could be cute..And I want a personality for Gilbert!!

Do you have more character analysis on og!Cale and how his relationships are with the other characters? Before and after transmigrating

Well, I'd love to, but..... here's the thing. For all the hype about OG Cale – and I'm definitely a member of that crowd, don't get me wrong – there isn't actualy... much about him. That is actually canon, I mean.

In fact, despite being one of the most popular characters in the fandom, OG Cale is only present in the novel for less than three full chapters in total (655-657), and all of them are spent mostly discussing how the war in the TBOAH timeline went down, not OG Cale's personal relationships.

Everything we know is all told through KRS!Cale perspective, who mostly just makes guesses and some pretty inaccurate assumptions. Sure, there was some stuff on how OG Cale treated his family in the TBOAH novels; but because "Nelan Barrow" did not really know the actual reason behind OG Cale choosing to act like trash... It's all extremely vague.

Nelan Barrow goes like: "OG Cale yelled at his servants yet never actually hit any of them, respected his father but kept distance from his family, and the closest person to a father figure he had was Ron Molan whom he treated like a human being". And that was basically everything, without any context added.

Ron had all of one flashback about OG Cale comforting his father after Jour's funeral. No explanation about Deruth's second marriage, about Basen – not even that they're not biologically related! OG Cale himself stated that "no matter how hard he tried to act like trash, they wouldn't kick him out", so that means the whole Henituse family did love OG Cale unconditionally. And also Ron and Beacrox were visibly quite tired of his nonsense by the time Cale transmigrated. But beyond that...

Well, to be fair, there were some minor characters sprinkled here and there who had a connection to OG Cale, before KRS!Cale got to meet them. There was Hans the butler, who was kind of scared of OG Cale... before he loosened up completely around KRS!Cale. And also there was the Eric Wheelsman, Gilbert Chetter and Amiru Ubarr trio; who were OG Cale's childhood friends because of their connection as North Eastern nobles. There was also the unnamed niece/OG Cale's reincarnated mom, and some Korean characters came up in the extras. They're all great characters, but... all of their relationships with OG Cale were exactly as one might expect: they're confused by OG Cale, yet overall like him (because for all the "trash personna" he did, OG Cale was never actually a bad person).

...Not much left to be said here.

And regarding the 20 years of war in the TBOAH timeline... OG Cale could be a biased narrator like Cale himself, but it sounded like he wasn't really anyone super important. He saw the confrontation between Choi Han and the White Star from the sidelines, not as someone close to the "main hero". He was just a soldier in the background of the battlefield. I doubt he talked to Choi Han even once.

Look, overall, most of OG Cale's relationships can be deduced or estimated from context – like the fact that despite his terrible reputation, no one who knew him actually hated him all that much – but in true canon, there's nothing much going on regarding his bonds with anyone aside his family. Yes, we can headcanon all kinds of drama based on Choi Han's violent actions in the beginning of TBOAH, followed by him leaving with both Ron and Beacrox without them saying goodbye to OG Cale... But that's all fan theories. In the TCF novel, OG Cale is a complete mystery for over 600 chapters.

...Which is probably why fans are so obsessed with him. Fleshing out OG Cale's character is super fun. No wonder there are so many Twin AUs, hahaha!
