ooh the girls are fighting !! adjsk love seeing sirius all get all grrr over remus and yelling at kingsley. and wolf moony protecting sirius and james !!!! so true. wolfstarbucks love transcends stupid magic rules.
curious tho who you think would actually win between sirius and kingsley? (i would say sirius ofc but i suppose i’m biased towards my favorite little guy <3)
So sorry for the delay in responding to this! Life has kept me *busy* recently.
Pigeon and I discussed this and agreed on this: It depends on what they're fighting for.
Kingsley would normally win, because Sirius won't reach for the devastating magic he is completely capable of in order to win without good reason. To beat Kingsley, he would have to, so he needs a very good reason. Kingsley, alternatively, will absolutely take him down, but will hesitate to use devastating magic on Sirius because it will hurt Regulus if he does. Kingsley never wants to hurt Regulus.
In this specific scenario, (which is the post-full moon fight in chapter 94) Kingsley winning means that Remus would die, or be injured, but Kingsley is mad enough to kill him. Kingsley is only after payback for Regulus, who was not actually hurt. In this case, Sirius wins, hands down.

“silly little whore, you thought you would get to cum so easily?” regulus taunted at you, gripping your hair aggressively pulling on your mangled tresses and shoving your face deeper into his slytherin silk green mattress.
a guttural moan escaped your throat, mixed with pain and pleasure. you knew you almost broke one of your rules. when he was talking you couldn’t make any sounds, including ones created by him.
your legs were quivering in satisfaction, trying to hold back a wave of euphoria threatening to release through your entire body below regulus, as he pounded into you from behind.
“only cum when i say you can, right messy bitch?”
he degraded you, normally people would think it’s abusive, toxic even. but it was filthy and 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩.
“answer when your spoken too, slutty girl?” his hoarse voice, almost spitting over your back. the hand that had a heavy grip on your bum came to lightly slap your reddened face from the previous actions similar from before from gripping and smacking.
“y-yes, s-sir.” you stuttered, hoping he would be satisfied with that.
he pulled out his cock, leaking of precum and painfully hard. you let out a whine in response to the emptiness, he roughly flipped your body over from being in a position on your forearms and knees to your laying on your back.
your cunt was so wet he easily slipped back inside of you, a groan releasing from his throat. his hands and mouth immediately flew to your chest and he roughly thrusted inside of you. you let out a loud moan in response to him pinching your nipples and sucking deep hues of purple on to your chest.
you try to hold back on your sounds of pleasure that’s threatens to escape the depths of your throat, as he rolls his tongue in-between your left nipple and his harsh hand grabs on your right breast and kneads it in his hand.
“c’mon pet, i thought you wanted to be dirty and let the whole school know who’s pleasuring you?” he whispered mockingly into ear. his pace was faltering, you knew he was well on his way to finishing for the third time tonight, and you’re fifth.
you were sensitive, and overstimulated. feeling as if needles were covering your core but you wanted to finish for him.
regulus liked it rough, he liked it passionate but he loved it when 𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪.
“little... needy.... slut, be the messy girl you are. cum.” he almost demanded.
without any hesitation you released, your cum coating his dick and squirting all over his length. he took one more pump into you and he released his ropes of cum into you. both of you panted, and a light sweat ringing your forehead. he pulled out of your core and hovered over your fragile and flushed body covered in marks and starting bruises.
“mi amour?”
“yes- sir..?” you said as if it was a question, wondering if would punish you.
“ s’not ‘sir’ anymore love, s’regulus, yeah?”
“ m’sorry...” you said like you were ashamed, looking away.
he put the bend of his forefinger and calloused thumb under your jaw guiding your face towards his so he could peck your lips.
“no need to apologize darling, m’getting a bath ready for you, yeah?.”
he hooked both of your legs around his waist, hoisting you up pressing against his chest and your trembling arms immediately found his shoulders and smooshing your face onto his broad shoulder.
with the wave of his wand, the tub was full of bubbles and warm water. he sat in the tub, bringing you in with him. his hand wrapped around your waist and both of your legs thrown over his lap. he started to caress and kiss the marks he left on your chest while his other soft hand went up and down your back.
the mean slytherin, regulus black, putty at your finger tips.
“i hope i didn’t go to hard on you, darling.” he said sorrowfully, continuing to caress you and put your hair up in a messy ponytail that was bound to be gone by morning.
you shook your head, your voice almost to hoarse and tired to talk. after your relaxing bath, he dressed you up in his favourite t-shirt from a muggle band that his mother was bound to burn if she ever found it and a pair of his sweatpants.
you were lying on his bare chest, tracing the scars imprinted on him by walburga black.
“ma cherie, what are you doing?” he asked, his tone soft.
“your scars make you pretty, reg.”
“i think you’re pretty.” he kissed your forehead, slightly tightening his grip on your body that rested on his.
“you’ve said.” your tone amused. even tho you were on the brink of sleep you always thought of a way to tease your boy.
“i’m making sure you know that you’re the only person who understands me. the only person i wanna see everyday.”
“how sappy regulus.” you chuckled and looked up at his genuine face and silver pool irises, his name feeling foreign to your mouth due to the amount of nicknames you had given him.
“i’m serious.”
“no you’re regulus.” you giggled.
“let me be sappy to my darling girl, please.”
“continue.”
“you’re the only one for me, ma cherie.”
“endearing french nicknames, my favourite.”
he smothered your face in small kisses before leaving a peck on your nose.

The days turned gloomy after the last time Sirius saw you last. He was in constant search of you but it was like you had never existed, the Ravenclaw table lacked the certain presence he had grown used to having there and the halls were void of the sound of your voice. No one saw you and if they did he wouldn’t really be able to tell, he refused to ask around for you. But he did make an exception, finding the boy that appeared to be attached to you all alone at the library.
He was used to seeing you in the library, usually with the company of Regulus but taking in consideration it was still the winter break Regulus would be at home until the last day he could. Of course he would be.
Sirius shook his head and focused on the important. You were nowhere to be seen at the library, he had made sure to check at least a couple of times, sending Remus on his way to check on his behalf so it wouldn’t be obvious how out of place and lost Sirius looked. He had no luck. But still, Remus managed to gather the important fact that Félix, the boy that you took under your wing and that now was Remus’ shadow, was always there.
“He is brilliant.” Remus told Sirius one morning during breakfast, playing with the cup in his hand “For a first year, he knows as much as you do.” he smirked, lifting his gaze from his coffee momentarily before he settled back on the dark liquid.
Sirius glared at him, running his tongue over his teeth as he clenched his fist where he supported his head, looking away from his friend. He is your way of finding the kid so you can find Y/N and apologize for being an idiot. He thought, pursing his lips in annoyance Maybe Moony has a point.
“Focus.” Sirius hissed, snapping his fingers to bring Remus attention to himself “What did uh-” he hesitated, Remus' look of annoyance making Sirius narrow his eyes with a tight smile.
“Félix.”
“Just checking we were talking about the same person.” he winked, leaning forward “What did he tell you?”
Remus stared at him, eyes void for a split second before he let out a long sigh “Nothing.” he admitted “He knows where she is but it’s not like he is just going to mention the place.”
Sirius groaned, falling back in his seat “Where is he?” he asked, looking over the few students currently having breakfast “You’re too soft, we need to push him.”
Remus pushed Sirius back onto his seat, his hand staying on his shoulder to force him to stay put “We don’t need to do anything.” he stated, leaving no room for discussion “And maybe you should just let her be. Didn’t you promise her that?”
“That was before I upset her.” he mumbled as he stayed put in his place, picking up the food from Remus’ plate “I just want to apologize, then I’ll leave her all alone.”
Remus gave him a knowing look, making Sirius stutter with his words before he lifted his hands in surrender “Promise.”
Remus shook his head, slapping Sirius’ hand as he kept on stealing his food “Quit eating my breakfast.” he ordered, taking the plate in front of him and filling it exactly like his “There. Eat that.”
Sirius looked down, taking a piece of the toast in front of him and making a face as soon as it touched his lips. “Yours is better.” he said, pushing the plate in Remus' direction and taking the half eaten plate from him.
“It’s really a wonder why Y/N’s avoiding you.” Remus muttered, downing the last sip of his coffee before he got up from his seat.
“Where are you going?” Sirius asked, his eyebrows furrowed in question as he followed Remus with his eyes.
“Peter is helping James with something at the Quidditch pitch.” he told him, pointing behind him towards the door “I’m going to make sure both of them make it to dinner.”
Sirius nodded, waving a hand in his direction. Remus left without another word, leaving Sirius to wonder in his own thoughts. What was he going to do?
*******
Avoiding was a very strong word.
You weren’t avoiding Sirius. Or not going to the library to not see Remus. You were certainly not avoiding the Quidditch pitch, specifically that hidden spot where you sat during Regulus’ training sessions, that specific spot where you could perfectly watch him and not be interrupted by other students there. You definitely were not avoiding the kitchens and midnight baking where you had come across Peter more than one time.
No. You were making very calculated decisions of what to and not to do. Avoiding was a completely different thing. You were certain.
The door to the Ravenclaw common room opened with a soft sound, the pages in your book changing as you lifted your gaze. The Castle had been welcoming the students back from the winter break slowly, the tables in the Great Hall getting fuller by the day.
Félix walked inside, the same gleaming look on his face as he had every day since the moment he started to sit at the same table that Remus took in the library.
“Why isn’t he a Ravenclaw?” he asked you with genuine curiosity, flopping down on the couch next to you.
“Hm?” you asked, closing your book and pretending you didn’t know who he was talking about.
“Remus.” he groaned, elongating his name “He is more Ravenclaw than you and I combined.”
You frowned, looking down at him “Hey!” you said defensively “That is a lot of Ravenclawness for one person.”
Félix shrugged, rolling his shoulders back as he lifted his head towards you “He is really tall.”
You narrowed your eyes, letting your body completely sink in the couch. You were both staring at the wall, biting the inside of your cheek as you pointed a lazy finger at him “That’s a good point.”
“He is still looking for you” Félix said after a long pause “Sirius, I mean.”
You chuckled darkly “I assumed you meant him.”
“Should I keep letting out very vague descriptions of your whereabouts or just let them assume you vanished?”
You turned to look at him confused, a pout on your lip as you considered him “I didn’t know you were doing that.” you mumbled, letting out a heavy sigh “You should hint them that I died.” you suggested, waving your hands in front of your faces “A real tragedy, you can come up with the details.”
“I don’t get it.” he told you, turning his head to you “Why are you avoiding him?”
“Ah,” you said, holding one finger up, “Not avoiding.”
“Calculated decisions.” you both said in unison.
“That,” he mumbled “So? He snapped at you, but you should know better than mentioning his brother to him. It’s like mentioning a mouse in front of a cat,” you scrunched up your nose, turning to him as he gave you a knowing look “The cat is gonna hiss.”
“Did you just compare Sirius Black to a cat?”
He clicked his tongue, nodding proudly at himself “And Regulus Black to a mouse.”
You bit your lip, stifling a laugh as you pushed his head softly “You’re unbelievable.”
*******
Three days. It took Sirius three days to finally cross paths with you.
You were sitting by the fountain, outside on the Courtyard with a bunch of letters piled in your lap and a few small flowers in your hand. You looked normal, like you had always been there and it was only Sirius who had failed to see you.
He was growing ever more nervous as he walked up to you, the words repeating inside his head, as he had practiced time and time again. I’m sorry for being an idiot. I know I overreacted, I shouldn’t have snapped at you the way I did but… No, there were no buts in his speech, just the apology. I’m sorry my attitude changed at the mention of my brother, at the mention of Regulus, should he say brother or Regulus? Same thing, right? I’m sorry I reacted the way I did at the mention of Regulus, at the mention of Regulus from you but how could I not? How could I not react in that way when all I want is for your eyes to light up at the mention of my name the way they light up at the mention of his, when all I want is for you to keep a picture of us tucked in the pages of your books to keep track of what you’ve read, when all I want is for you to hold onto my arm they way you do with his every time you walk together. How could I not react the way I did when I selfishly wish I could steal all the smiles you have ever shown him? That you could draw the smiles on my face the way you draw his?
Maybe he should stick with a plain apology.
You must have sensed his presence, not even five steps away from you you lazily lifted your head in his direction, not missing the way he was playing with his fingers. He dropped his hands and ran one through his hair before a small smile settled on his lips. “Hi.” he breathed out, lowering his gaze as he finally reached your side.
You nodded in his direction, moving your arms over all the letters in your lap “Hi.” you said back, leaning down so your elbows were resting on your knees.
Neither of you said anything, staring at one another for longer than it was considered comfortable.
Biting the inside of your cheek, you looked down at the flowers you were holding and noticing you had crushed them. The white of your knuckles making you open your hand immediately as the small pieces that used to make the flower fell to the water. You cursed under your breath, dusting your hand against your leg before you returned your gaze to Sirius, still standing there. Not avoiding, right? you told yourself. “Would you like to sit?” you asked as you moved your bag aside, making space for him.
He hesitantly took the space you made for him, thanking you in a whisper as he continued to look at you. His eyes immediately fell to the water behind them in the fountain, the flowers you held floating on the surface as they moved with the lightest wind that flowed around you. Sirius tilted his head to the side, confusion filling him entirely as you went back to reading whatever was on your lap. Letters, he assumed.
You didn’t seem uncomfortable in the slightest, in fact, you looked more at peace that he had ever seen you.
You blindly reached a hand to your bag, pulling a clear bag from inside and opening it without breaking your focus from the parchment in your other hand, joy lighting up your face. You popped a piece of what he could tell by the smell were cookies and managed a small laugh before you looked up to him, as if the thought of him being sitting right beside you had only registered in your mind.
“Would you like some?” you asked him, placing the bag between the two of you for him to grab some “I made them this morning.”
“Why are you being nice?” he asked suddenly, making whatever words you were about to say get stuck on your tongue.
You didn’t act surprised by his question, shaking your head with a nervous smile “Should I not be nice?” you asked, but he could tell you knew exactly what he meant.
“Don’t do that.” he asked tiredly, running a hand down his face “Don’t start pretending again.”
Sirius wanted you to show some anger, for you to cut his words sharply just like he had done, he wanted you to ignore him. Something. Anything. He felt even more the twist in his stomach now that you were just ignoring the entire thing.
“You always say I’m pretending.” you laughed, “Honestly, I’m not.” you lied. Of course you lied, but looking back maybe you had overreacted at his change of attitude. Now, you were just curious.
“Then stop ignoring the fact that I was rude to you.”
“You say that as if I’ve only been an angel to you.”
Sirius was taken aback by your words. Eyebrows furrowed in deep thought as he blankly stared at you. In his eyes you had been a perfect angel. Then again, James thought Lily was nothing but perfect to him and everyone else could see that, even if Lily did his best friend no harm, she wasn’t exactly nice.
“I asked something that was in no way of my concern and you had every right to react the way you did.” you said, leaving him speechless as you continued “I have no reason to not be nice to you. You are nothing but kind to me and I was just curious,” you said, the words leaving your mouth before you registered you were rambling “Regulus is my best friend but he rarely talks of you, he is really private. Not that I blame him, I’m the same. But all this time I thought you were this mean older brother that tormented him and me, being his friend, I took the blind decision of not liking you. And then you went and started talking to me, Merlin only knows why, and you’re nice and I’m confused.” you finished, breathing out before you locked eyes with him, his slightly wide eyes looking back at you “...and curious.” you added hesitantly, realizing all that you said. Your hand covered your mouth, letting out a groan as you threw your head back.
Only the sound of a low chuckle brought you back from the slightly embarrassed feeling, making you lower your head with an almost pained look on your face.
“You’re adorable.” he said, his usual grin returning to his face.
Your blank stare at his words turned into one of fake annoyance as you faced your side “Right,” you huffed “You’ve told me that before.”
And I’ll keep reminding you. He thought, but restrained himself from actually saying it as he had more pressing matters in his mind.
“You said you were… Curious?” he asked, recalling your words with his own curiosity. “About what?”
You bit your lip lightly, lowering your eyes and folding the parchment on your lap, putting aside “You…” you admitted in a whisper “I mean, that night when we first met left me with thousands of questions but no answers.” you shared, taking a quick glance in his direction as you considered him. He really had been nothing but nice to you, annoying and a little insistent but still nice; maybe talking to him would do more good than harm.
“I asked Regulus about you.” you said, capturing his attention instantly “He reacted the same way you did, actually.” a breathy laugh escaped your lips as you remembered, shaking your head “He didn’t say much, just that you weren’t close.”
Sirius let out a bitter chuckle, moving to sit more comfortably “We used to be.” he said “Before I left, that is.”
“Left?”
He nodded, seeing your face remain the same. So Regulus really keeps to himself, even with you. “I left home.” he explained with the tilt of his head “Let’s just say that my mother and I didn’t agree with each other.”
Sirius almost wanted to laugh, saying he and Walburga Black didn’t agree with each other was putting it lightly. It felt like giving you the ocean and saying it only contained water, but how much water did the ocean hold inside it? What else hid in the depths that no one dared to explore?
“Is that why you said you and Regulus had different ideals?” you asked him, seeing his thoughts die inside his eyes as he came back to the present, back to you.
“He chose his side.” Sirius said with a nod “Still wrapped around my dear mother’s finger.”
You felt the knot in the stomach start to form, the words leaving Sirius’ mouth too vague and yet precise to be confused with anything else. You felt a thousand emotions cross your face, your mouth trying to form words but being too slow to keep up with the train of thought currently running inside your head. Ideals was a rare word to use in day to day conversations, but one that came up more considering the times and the current situation in the Wizarding World. There was a Dark wizard rising and everyone knew what his ideals were, his ideals were known and held highly among the families that stood next to him, supported him. Old families that thought themselves above the rest of the witches and wizards because of the blood flowing through their veins. A blood redder than the ones of Muggles. Purebloods. Purebloods just like the Noble House of Black.
You swallowed the fear rising inside you, forcing a smile to your face as you tried to come up with words but none came.
“I was surprised when you showed me how close you two are.” he continued, only making your stomach drop “Maybe he’s just scared.” he said, mostly to himself but you could hear him perfectly “He is the perfect son, you know?” The ghost of a smile appeared on his lips, sadness laced in between his words “Made it to Slytherin, obbeys Mother, respects Father.” he paused, lowering his head “Hates his traitor brother.” he murmured.
Your eyes snapped at him, frozen in your spot as you stared at him. Your hand moved out of its own will, finding his clutching to the edge of the fountain. Gently, you placed your hand over his, the cold of your hand a shock with the warmth of his skin.
He forced his head up, his eyes following the feeling of your skin, turning his hand over to wrap his fingers around your hand, brushing his thumb over your knuckles in a slow motion.
“He isn’t like that.” you murmured, watching as he held your hand closer to him.
Whether you meant Regulus’ opinions on him or blood status, he didn’t care. Somehow, as selfish as he felt in that moment, he just cared that you had let him in, that you had reached for his hand. He wondered if you would have done the same if you weren’t alone, if Regulus wasn’t away; he wondered what would happen when everything went back to normal.
He let go of your hand, turning to his side to avoid the look in your face. He found he didn’t want to know if it was disappointment or relief what took over your features.
“Sirius.” you called, voice soft and gentle. “He isn’t like that.” you repeated.
He gave you a soft nod. Even if he didn’t believe it, he surprised himself by actually wanting to. For your sake, for himself.
“I really hope you’re right.”

Teenagers Part 3
Harry Potter Marauders Era
Link to Part 2
Pairings: Regulus Black x Reader
Rating: M
_____
You watched with a smile as Regulus put on your locket. Marlene and Lily were both saying “aw” quietly. Marlene leaned over and hugged you.
“He took the bait. That right there shows that he’s interested. You claimed him as your own. There is no way that he will bother with other girls with your necklace around his neck. It's a lovely locket.”
You nodded.
“My father gave it to me for my fifth birthday. It's kind of a big deal because I haven’t taken it off much at all.”
Lily had to agree with that comment. She hadn’t seen you take the locket off in all of the years that she had known you.
“She’s right, Marlene and so are you. This is a huge deal. Regulus just walked into this little trap with absolutely no shame on his face. Evan looked as surprised as we did. Now, let's go down to the quidditch pitch. We need to pray that James and Regulus don’t kill each other.”
You groaned, having a feeling that James was onto your little crush on Regulus. He was keeping an extra close eye on you already. You knew that your brother was going to go mad when he found out that you were dating his rival.
“Merlin, I hope not.
You said before quickly standing up.
Walking down the pitch, you couldn’t help but internally gloat over how eager Regulus seemed to be to put your locket on. He did it without hesitating. There didn’t even seem to be a thought in his head about putting on a female piece of jewelry. It was yours and that was all that mattered to Regulus.
“Potter! Hey, Potter!”
You were pulled from your thoughts by someone hissing your name. Looking over your shoulder, you saw Evan standing behind a tree motioning you over. Both Marlene and Lily were giving him wary expressions. Neither girl trusted Evan Rosier and with good reason. You didn’t like Evan. He was conceited, crass, and most importantly his family was a bunch of dark wizards.
“Don’t go, Y/n.”
Lily begged. You gently patted her hand.
“He’s friends with Regulus. I think Evan is smart enough to know if he messes with me, Regulus will deal with him.”
“We are waiting right here.”
Marlene replied, shooting Evan a glare. You silently agreed to these terms. There was no way that Marlene nor Lily would leave you alone.
You walked over to the tree where Evan stood with a smile on his face. Had he not been such a creep, he may have been mildly attractive.
“Hi Evan, what can I do for you?”
Evan grinned.
“I have something for you from Regulus. Obviously, he’s a bit occupied right now but he asked me to give you this. Since you claimed him this morning with the locket, he decided to turn around and claim you right back. Hold your hand out.”
You did as you were told with a frown on your face. Evan put something in your hand before smiling again.
“I’m sure he would prefer me to do some grand display but I don’t do that. Enjoy, little one.”
You looked down at your palm and there laid Regulus’ ring with the Black family crest on it. Blinking a few times, your eyes widened. You had never seen Regulus without that ring on.
“Oh wow.”
You muttered with a smile. Evan nodded.
“All of his cutesy stuff makes me want to barf but I think that you two will be good for each other. I was going to do some crazy thing like getting down on my knees and giving it to you but we both know that I don’t play those games. Regulus also asked me to tell you to meet him at the astronomy tower tonight.”
You looked up at Evan with a scowl.
“Neither does Regulus. He would have kicked you if you had done that.”
Evan chuckled.
“We know the boy well. Anyhow, I have a match to get to. Cheers.”
Evan walked off with a small smile on his face. He knew that when James Potter found out about the relationship that his brother was in all hell would break loose. Evan didn’t care. He was looking for a reason to get into a fight with Potter and his weird friends and this would be the perfect one.
You, meanwhile, were still looking down at Regulus’ ring when Lily and Marlene walked over.
“What did he want?”
Lily questioned. You motioned down to ring. Both Lily and Marlene’s mouths dropped.
“That’s Regulus’ family ring.”
Marlene managed to choke out. This was a huge deal!
“He turned around and claimed you back.”
Lily commented as you slipped the ring onto your left hand. It was a little big but made it easier to turn around. The last thing that you wanted, at the time being, was for James and especially Sirius to see what was on your hand. Sirius would probably faint on the floor. You didn’t even want to think about James’ reaction.
“He did and I am not the least bit offended by it.”
Lily grinned.
“I’m sorry but this is adorable. I should be worried given how the Black family is but you’re happy and I love seeing you happy. Regulus is actually showing that he has a heart.”
You nodded.
“He does, Lily. He’s so sweet. Under all of the angst and coldness that he shows on the outside, Regulus is so nice on the inside. He’s everything that I want.”
Marlene and Lily exchanged smiles. Neither had ever seen you this happy over a boy before. You were the one who was sensible when it came to love. Now you were becoming giddy and smiling over everything..it was precious.
“You deserve this.”
Lily replied warmly. Her smile faded as she saw James walking down with his teammates.
“I’m sorry to ruin the moment but here comes your brother.”
Your eyes widened as you turned the ring around and shoved your hand in your pocket as James stopped.
“What are you three doing here? I figured that you lot would be with Sirius, Remus, and Peter.”
Lily quickly came in.
“We are on our way down. I had to go back to the common room to get my scarf.”
James didn’t question Lily’s white lie.
“Darling, I figured you of all people would be prepared. Come on, you all have to watch me beat baby Regulus Black and his team of goons into the ground. I want to wipe that smug smirk right off of his face.”
You quickly pressed your lips together as Marlene rolled her eyes over to you. Lily faked a smile.
“James, it's a good idea to not get too cocky. Come on now, let's get going.”
You sat on the edge of your seat throughout the match watching Regulus and James purposely beat the crap out of each other. You shook your head a few times leaning over to Lily.
“Can we talk about the level of petty that we are witnessing?”
Lily rolled her eyes too.
“You aren’t kidding.”
If you didn’t know better, you would think that James was already aware that you were dating Regulus. You wouldn’t have been at all surprised if James was yelling “baby Black” at Regulus to mess with him even more.
Your eyes were locked on Regulus as he finally lost his temper and went after James.
Reg, don’t.
You thought. Things were about to be a shit show!
“Y/n, what is that on your hand?”
You were pulled from your thoughts by Remus’ soft voice. Feeling your eyes widen, you realized that your left hand had left your pocket. The band of the ring was clearly visible in the midmorning sun. You slowly turned to your friend, who was looking curiously at your hand.
Of course, it was Remus that noticed the ring. Remus noticed everything. Had it been James or Sirius, neither would recognize a thing unless it was shoved in their face or they saw the Black family crest. Remus would notice if you dropped ink on your black robes.
“Um...it's a new ring. I….”
You struggled with your words as Remus took your hand in his. He frowned the moment that he realized that it wasn’t just a silver band. There was something on the inside of your hand that you were clearly trying to keep hidden. Remus quickly turned your hand over. His mouth dropped the moment that he saw the Black family crest.
Waiting all of two seconds, Remus turned your hand back over and placed it on your lap. He made sure that Sirius was occupied before speaking to you.
“That’s Regulus’ ring. Why do you have Regulus’ ring? A better question is where is your locket?”
Remus was silent a moment before looking at Regulus, who was after the golden snitch.
“Let me guess, it's around his neck.”
You swallowed.
“Something like that.”
Remus’ face went a shade paler than it normally was. This was something that he should have seen coming. He should have known since the day that you came into the common room freaking out over Regulus that something was going on. How did he not see it? Remus was normally very perceptive on things but this slipped right under his radar.
“Y/n, what is happening between the two of you?”
You were silent a moment, also making sure that Sirius and Peter were busy. Twirling your finger around your hair, you finally looked up into Remus’ typically kind eyes.
“He’s my boyfriend.”
Remus stood up and wrapped his hand around your wrist.
“Come with me.”
Sirius turned to face the both of you. He frowned curiously.
“Where are you two going?”
“To get a drink at the concession stand.”
Sirius reached down into his pocket to hand Remus some money.
“Get me something. You two better hurry, it looks like things are about to get nasty between James and Reg.”
Remus only nodded before tugging you with him. You looked over your shoulder to Lily and Marlene, who had clearly put 2 and 2 together. They gave you a sympathetic look as you followed after Remus.
Once out of earshot of your friends, Remus let go of your hand. He turned to look at you with wide eyes.
“Regulus Black is your boyfriend.”
You nodded.
“Yes. Please don’t tell James...not yet.”
Remus sighed.
“Y/n, do you realize how risky this is? James is going to go mad when he finds out. What about your safety? Regulus isn’t really the nicest of guys. What if he hurts you?”
It was your turn to sigh.
“Remus, please. Regulus has been really good to me so far. We have gone on a couple of dates and I really like him. I really want this to work. If he’s mean to me then you can take him out behind the school and beat him. I don’t think that you will have to do that but there’s my offer.”
Remus crossed his arms over his chest and gave you a skeptical expression.
“Y/n, you know how the Black family is. Look at Sirius...think of how they did him.”
“I know, Remus. I of all people know how Walburga did Sirius but Regulus isn’t his mother. Remus, he’s so sweet and gentle…”
Remus held a hand up. This was the last thing that he wanted to hear. He didn’t want to hear how “gentle” Regulus could be and he definitely didn’t want to hear if the two of you were already “doing the deed.” That was the last thing that Remus even wanted to think of!
“Fine, I’ll keep my mouth shut...just please be smart.”
Before you could respond the loud announcer of the match interrupted the conversation…
“Regulus Black has caught the snitch. Slytherin wins.”
Both Remus and yourself instantly looked at each other. The conversation was over and a new one began...James was going to be furious.
You quickly followed Remus back to your seats. Sirius looked up with a frown.
“Where’s my drink?”
Remus forgot all about Sirius’ drink. He quickly dug around in his pocket before putting a chocolate bar in Sirius’ hand.
“Uh sorry... the line was long. Here have some chocolate instead.”
Sirius shrugged, seeming pleased with Remus’ offering, stood.
“We better go comfort, Prongs. You know that he is going to be angry.”
You didn’t argue as you followed your friends down onto the pitch where your brother stood clearly seething.
“That little shit…”
James started the moment that all of his friends came over to offer their sympathy. Peter was the first to speak.
“That little shit is actually taller than you.”
“Peter...shut up.”
James snapped. You, meanwhile, glanced over to Regulus where he stood gleefully talking to his group of Slytherin friends. Evan elbowed him in the side before looking in your direction. Regulus turned and gave you a small smile. You discreetly held up the hand that had his ring on it.
You were pleased that Regulus looked even happier as he pulled down his jumper enough for you to see your locket. He turned back to his friends leaving you with a happy smile on your face.
James was still mad as hell when you turned back to your brother. Reaching out you affectionately patted his shoulder.
“Come on, James. You’ll have your rematch. We all know how talented you are.”
James finally smiled.
“Thanks, Sissy.”
That night you waited until James and Sirius were sleeping on the couch after a small party. Standing up, you quietly grabbed your heavier robe before going toward the portrait to leave.
“Where are you going?”
You turned to face Remus, who had magically just turned up. Pressing your lips together you motioned over your shoulder.
“I know. You’re going to see him aren’t you?”
Remus interrupted. You nodded.
“Come on, Remus be a pal. I haven’t even gotten to talk to him today.”
Remus sighed.
“I’ll be watching on the map to make sure nothing happens. Please be careful.”
You grinned.
“Thanks.”
The brisk walk to the astronomy tower took longer than you wanted it to. Regulus at the top looking out into the night.
“Regulus?”
He turned around and gave you a small smile.
“It took you a while.”
He commented as you walked over to join him.
“Sorry, I had to wait for my brother to go to sleep. You did great at the match today.”
Regulus chuckled.
“Your brother almost beat the crap of me. Did you tell him something?”
You shook your head before shivering. Regulus raised an eyebrow before reaching out and pulling you against him. This was the closest that you had been to Regulus and you were thrilled by it.
“Will you kiss me?”
You asked, suddenly shocked by your reaction. Regulus seemed as shocked as you were.
“Have you been kissed before?”
He asked. You shook your head, feeling suddenly embarrassed. Even though it was dark, Regulus knew that you were blushing. He gently tilted your face to his.
“This needs to be extra special then.”
Regulus leaned down and nuzzled his face against yours. For once, he didn’t feel like he was on edge. You were the first person that wanted to see him for what he “wanted to be.”
“I think that I am falling for you. Maybe it’s too soon to say it but...I adore you, darling. You sending me that locket, let me know how you feel about me and I am thrilled. Now that I see my ring on your finger, I know how you feel about me.”
You smiled, enjoying the feeling of Regulus being so close to you.
“I’m mad about you.”
You admitted, suddenly not feeling afraid to admit your feelings.
“Well, in that case…”
Regulus commented before kissing you. The kiss was shy and timid at first. Regulus wanted to throw all of the passion that he had been feeling into the kiss but decided to take it slow. This was, after all, your first kiss and he wanted to make sure it was memorable. If it were up to Regulus, he would make sure that he would be the only one to ever kiss those pretty lips. He wanted to make sure that you would only be his.
At the moment, nothing else in his life mattered. His parents, pureblood family, James Potter were all just subjects on the back burner. You were his only concern.
You, meanwhile, were in a state of sheer ecstasy as Regulus kissed you. Everything about this kiss was what you dreamed. He kissed you softly but still had a commanding manner. The kiss was everything that you expected and then some. Regulus held you as if you were precious china as he focused all of his energy into making your first kiss (snog session, at this point) was special.
“Don’t stop, baby.”
You whispered. Regulus smiled before pulling you back against him.
“I’m assuming that you’re a virgin since you haven’t been kissed.”
You pressed your face into his chest. Regulus’ long fingers began to stroke your hair.
“It's nothing to be ashamed of. Honestly, I’m thrilled. Not tonight though...that needs to be special just like our first kiss.”
You stood on your tiptoes for another kiss.
“The kiss was perfect. I don’t want to hide from my brother...I want to be able to touch my boyfriend in public.”
Regulus couldn’t have been happier to hear those words leave your mouth. The last thing that he really wanted to do was hide. He knew that there were risks associated with it. His parents would find out sooner and people would be talking. Regulus really wasn’t worried about the latter of the two. He had made quite the reputation for himself in Slytherin and no one with half a brain would question him (unless they wanted to be hexed). Regulus had already decided that when his parents found out, if there were any issues, he would simply tell his mother that this was the way that things would be. If she didn’t like it, he would turn on his “I am your only son now” attitude that got him what he wanted from Walburga. Regulus smiled at the thought. Walburga Black had a reputation for being a “hard ass” but when it came to her favorite son, she was a marshmallow. The same could be said about his father and Regulus was proud of his work.
“Tomorrow, love.”
The next morning, you stood waiting for Regulus outside of the great hall. Your friends had already gone in without questioning what you were doing. For all James knew, you were just waiting to talk to some of your other friends.
A hand touching the small of your back, made you jump. You smiled the moment that you realized that it was Regulus.
“So...are we still doing it?”
He questioned. You nodded.
“We walk in holding hands and stay together.”
Regulus nodded before smiling slyly.
“Want to make it more interesting?”
Your eyes widened, feeling nervous over what Regulus’ version of more interesting could be.
“What do you want to do?”
Regulus had a dark smile on his face. He knew exactly what he wanted to do and it was going to be one hell of a show.
“Just go along with me, huh?”
This was either going to be something really amusing or something to really freak James out and you were actually amused with it. You had always been James Potter’s “good little sister.” You were the one that tried to protect James and Sirius. If you did something bad, it would be news to everyone.
“Okay.”
Intertwining your hand with Regulus, you looked up at him with a smile.
“Here. We. Go.”
The moment that the two of you walked into the great hall everyone at the Slytherin and Gryffindor table automatically turned. The Slytherins all appeared to be more amused than shocked. Evan and Barty were both grinning as they were already in on the secret.
At the Gryffindor table, you could clearly see James, Sirius, and Peter sitting with their mouths wide open. Lily and Remus both were wincing as if they were waiting for a war to break out. You could clearly hear James shout, “you’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Remus reached out and tugged James down as Regulus led you to an empty place at a table.
“Time to turn up the volume a bit. You want me to take your heart like a man? Here you go, sweetheart.”
He whispered before leaning in and kissing you right in front of god and everybody…

i love you so fucking much - coops proposal
Haha, I feel like shit so here have some fluff. Also apparently I can't just write a cute date, it always turns into some grand gesture, it's called ~love starved~ (I just had a major stress thingy, which is why I can't put my own thoughts into words, only coops cuteness)
(I had paper rings by Taylor Swift on repeat, so do with that what you will - okay update 24 hours later: there will be a paper rings lyric fic :))
And a big thabk you to my beta @tonksandherpinkhair !! I really really appreciate it!!
!! Okay so I havent been very active on tumblr lately and I literally just, like 2 min ago, found out that @fruitcoops also did a proposal fic with paper rings by taylor swift. But I just wanted to make clear that this fic (or the part 2) wasn’t stolen from them, we just got the same idea apparently lmao. (I put this "warning" here, because my anxiety just told me that otherwise everyone will hate me and think I stole the idea)
I recommend that you still read their fic because it's really fucking amazing and adorable!!! !!

'Mon loup, you know I love you, but why are we going ice-skating? It's our job.'
'It's romantic.' Sirius raised his eyebrow. 'Okay, I saw a couple do it on TikTok, but it was really romantic.'
'But do they play ice-hockey for a living?'
'Baby, we can stay there and have dinner and look at the stars. We can stay as long as we want. Please?' Sirius was persuaded at the word baby.
~
Sirius hadn't exactly known what made him agree -it was the word baby- but now he stood in front of a completely frozen lake. It felt different without his protection gear and with the fact that there was ice-cold water underneath the ice. A vivid memory of 10-year old Sirius came up.
It had been his first time skating on natural ice, but I wasn't cold enough. Sirius had taken one step on the ice and his foot went right through. The worst part was that no one seemed to care, except for Regulus. It was when Sirius started to realize they simply didn’t care about anything other than his reputation.
'Pads?' Remus' warm voice broke through the memory. 'Are you alright? You don’t have to skate if you don’t want to.'
'No, I want to.' He tried to smile. 'I'm sorry.'
'No need to be sorry, come, I'll help you.' Remus carefully stepped on the ice and Sirius almost winced at the thought of Remus falling through.
But when Remus took his hand all the ghosts from his past seemed to fade away and he realized that for once in his life there was nothing holding him back from being happy.
'I got you. One foot first.' Remus helped Sirius on the ice. 'Love you. Now let's go skate, shall we?'
Sirius laughed as Remus dragged him to the middle of the lake where loads of families were already skating together.
'Honey, like you said, this is your job,' Remus laughed when Sirius slipped.
'It's the ice! It's different!' He said, but he was laughing too.
'Sure, baby.' Sirius grabbed Remus' arm and pulled him on the ice with him. 'Sirius!'
He just laughed and tried to stand up and skate away, but Loops was put on the Lions team for a reason. Remus had reached him within a minute.
'Were we planning on going somewhere?' Remus' smile still gave Sirius butterflies sometimes.
'Sir?' A small girl looked up to Remus. 'How did you learn to skate so fast?' For a second he hesitated and then he lowered himself to eyelevel with the girl.
'Hi, what is your name?'
'Everly, but, Sir, how did you skate so fast?'
'Everly, manners!' a woman interrupted her. 'I'm sorry, she's six and, well, hard to control.'
'Oh that's alright,' Remus said. 'Hi Everly, my name is Remus Lupin. I play professional ice-hockey. But I can teach you some tricks. If that's alright with your mother, of course.' Sirius heart almost melted at the sight.
'Mommy, can I please skate with Remus?' The girl tried her best to look cute and Sirius had to admit that she was almost as cute as Remus.
'You are- That means you are Sirius Black, I thought I recognized you! Ev, stay in sight, okay?' She gave her daughter a stern look and then smiled. Both her and Sirius watched them skate away.
'I'm sorry, kids seem to automatically have thing for Remus. I can't say I don't understand them, though I hope it's a different kind of thing.' The woman laughed at Sirius', slightly awkward, but apparently successful ice-breaker.
'My name is Sarah by the way. I heard everything about you and Remus on the new some months ago, that must've been hard.' Sirius normally wouldn’t answer to this, but Sarah had somewhat the same motherly energy that both Hope Lupin and Celeste Dumais had, though maybe a little less.
'It wasn't, but it got us here.' She smiled at him.
'I'm glad it did.' She turned around to look for something. 'Oh, Jack! I am so sorry, my toddler just learned how to walk and Cecile and I have trouble getting him to not walk on the ice.' She smiled apologetically. 'Could you give a shout if something happens with Everly?' Sirius nodded. 'Thank you, darling,' she said as she skated to her wife and son.
Sirius saw her kiss her wife, Cecile, on the cheek and bow down over the toddler and he couldn’t deny that he wanted that. Someday. With Remus.
Then he felt a weight against his back and arms around his hips. 'Hey baby,' Remus whispered. Sirius turned around and kissed his boyfriend.
'Where is your little admirer?'
'She's showing her mom all the tricks I taught her.'
'You'd be a great dad.' Remus seemed a little taken aback by that.
'You would too.'
Sirius couldn’t hold it in. 'I want that. Someday.'
'Me too.' Remus couldn’t hold back a smile and kissed Sirius again. 'Love you,' he whispered against his boyfriends lips.
'Hmm, love you too,' Sirius replied.
'Do you want to sit down and eat something? I brought chocolate.'
'of course you did.'
~
Hours later, both Remus and Sirius were getting tired. They had skated, talked and exchanged contact with Sarah and her family and Remus had eaten a shocking amount of chocolate. They had been snuggled on a thick blanket with another blanket over them in a tent-like contraption for an hour now. Remus was the first to notice it was getting dark.
'Pads. Pads, we can see the stars now,' he whispered to a half-asleep Sirius. He took his hand and dragged him up. Let's go on the ice, there is the least unnatural light.' Remus began walking.
'Honey, you forgot your skates.'
'Don’t need 'em.' He walked to the middle of the lake and promptly sat down and then laid on his back. 'You coming?' Sirius rolled his eyes, but went to lay next to Remus anyway. There they looked up, waiting for the stars to become more and more visible. The ice was cold underneath them, but Remus warmth made up for that.
After a while the stars were very visible and Remus pointed to the sky. 'Okay, if that's the north star, than North is right,' he lowered his hand in a straight line, 'there.' He pointed somewhere to into the forest next to the lake.
'How do you know this?' Sirius looked at his boyfriend looked at him.
'I might have looked up how to stargaze this morning,' Remus admitted. Sirius laughed -it could almost be called barking- when he saw Remus' grin. 'Anyway, there is Ursa Major. And I think that that is..' That was the point where Sirius stopped paying attention to what Remus said and more to him.
Remus' lit up when he talked about something made him happy. He had a wide smile and gold sparks in his eyes.
'And that's you, baby, the dog star.' But Sirius didn't look up, he kept staring at his boyfriends face. 'Pads?'
'Marry me.' It slipped out. He hadn't meant to say it, but it was sincere.
'What!?' Remus shot up.
'I- I just realized how fucking much I love you. I want to spend every second with you, I want to talk either to you or about you, I want,' Sirius trailed off in a search for words, 'you.' He smiled. 'I just want you.' Sirius had not prepared this, in any way, but he was happy with what he said.
'Bab-y,' Remus' voice broke as tears welled up and Sirius sat up and then went down on one knee.
'I'm sorry I don’t have a ring, but here goes,' he smiled apologetically. 'Remus, will you marry me?'
'Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes!' He kissed Sirius. 'Ba- fiancé,' he whispered against his lips, 'I love you so fucking much too.'
~
I kinda want a significant other now,, anyway, let me know if you want a part 2 where they tell people!!
(I'll probably write it anyway, but still!)

A place to call home - part III
Sirius Black x reader
This is part of All I want for Christmas is fanfiction
Words: 2.4k
A/N: and this is the part where it gets interesting...
Tumblr media
The week passed by quickly. The meeting on Friday got cancelled as both Moody and Kingsley were occupied with more important things and they were supposed to lead the thing. You and Sirius spent your days clearing out the guestrooms and your evenings in the living room, not talking much, but enjoying each other’s company as you both did something for yourself.
In the past month you had grown to Sirius. More than you had expected. He was fun to be around and he brought light in your dark life now. His jokes had often made the tears roll down your cheeks and his stories were always interesting to listen to. You felt the sparkle there, but if you were completely honest you were a little scared. Scared of falling for someone and then getting your heart broken. So you had kept your distance. Not only from Sirius, but also from the house. You didn’t want to get attached to a place that wasn’t your home. It felt wrong to you to think of this house as your home, when it was Sirius’ home. You were just staying here until it was safe to go back to your apartment, which, as you had heard, would take a while.
But all your insecurities disappeared as you were spending time with Sirius. He made you forget about your worries for a while and instead brought a smile to your face.
On Saturday morning you and Sirius were making the beds in the guestrooms; the final touch before the guests came.
It was the first day of the Christmas break and in a while the Weasleys, along with Harry and Hermione would come to spent the holidays at Grimmauld Place. You had been looking forward to meet everyone. You had only seen them, apart from Molly and Arthur, whom you had gotten to know quite well in the past time, shortly at meetings in the summer, but never talked to them.
‘Sirius,’ you said, your voice a little hesitant. ‘I don’t think we have enough beds…’
He looked up and closed his eyes. You saw him counting and did the math yourself. Harry, Hermione, Fred, George, Ron, Ginny, Arthur and Molly would be sleeping at the house. Those were eight people, nine including you and there were only eight beds. Four rooms with each two beds.
Sirius had come to the same numbers.
‘We do still have my parents’ and Regulus’ room, but we haven’t cleaned them yet and I don’t think anyone wants to sleep there,’ he said.
‘Maybe I can sleep with Ginny and Hermione. I could easily put a mattress on the ground here,’ you said, pointing at a spot on the floor.
‘I’m not letting you sleep on the ground!’ Sirius cried out.
‘Sirius, what else can we do? They are guest, we cannot ask them to sleep on the ground. We just have to find a place for me to sleep.’
Sirius stayed silent for a while and you could see he was hesitating to tell you something. He looked at you, but quickly averted his eyes to his feet as you looked back.
‘You could, if you want to, sleep with me…’ he almost whispered.
You looked at Sirius and saw that he was not joking. You thought about it. It would definitely be better than sleeping on the floor, but you would be sleeping in the same bed as Sirius. Little butterflies came up in your stomach as you thought of sharing a bed with Sirius and you were shocked with yourself. Did you just get butterflies from thinking about sleeping with Sirius?
You looked up to Sirius, the man who had taken you in his house to protect you, the man who had made you feel at home, the man who proved to be a little kid sometime, the man you had grown to over time, and you smiled.
‘Yeah, I would like that,’ you said and caught a flash of relieve in Sirius’ eyes.
For a second it stayed silent and you let the realisation take its time to get to you. You’d be sleeping in the same bed as Sirius. With Sirius. You would be sharing the covers, lie with your head on the pillow next to him and fall asleep with very little space between the two of you.
‘Let’s make it happen then!’ Sirius said and his face turned into his usual smirk.
You gave Sirius and soft smile and turned back to the bed you were making. Just as you threw the pillow on the mattress, the doorbell rang. Excitement bubbled inside of you and you turned to Sirius, who was looking nervous. You took his hands and forced him to look at you.
‘Just relax. These people came to spend Christmas with you, there is nothing to be worried about,’ you whispered and Sirius relaxed a bit. ‘I’ll get the door.’
-+-+-+-
‘No, no, y/n! You have to tell!’
‘Please George, no one wants to hear it anyway!’
It was late at night and you, Sirius, the Weasley siblings, Harry and Hermione were sitting in the living room, a bottle of Firewhiskey on the floor in the middle of the circle that had formed. Arthur and Molly had gone to bed, thinking everyone else had gone too. But as soon as they had disappeared, Fred had pulled out a bottle and given everyone but Ginny, who hadn’t let that pass without any drama, a glass. Figuring that it was the first night of their break and the fact that you nor Sirius were their parents, had made that you had let it slip. Quickly everyone was tipsy, the younger ones quicker than you and Sirius, and secrets were being spilled.
Now it was your turn to tell your worst prank.
‘Fine, but if you ever tell anyone…’ you said slowly, letting a silence fall for effect. ‘Okay, in my fifth year we had this terrible DADA teacher. He always took unfair points from everyone and gave us really difficult assignments and then scolded the class for not understanding. And it wasn’t just that, he was mean too. He made offensive jokes to people and one time he even hit a girl in her face. So-’ you giggled and took a deep breath before continuing ‘-me and my friends got enough of him. We had tried to do it the normal way, but none of the teachers wanted to listen to us. Instead we took the matter in our own hands. We made a potion that makes you go bald, but not forever. Just for a month or so. We had to make the potion ourselves and well, long story short, we made potion too strong and he never got his hair back.’
Everyone in the room burst out into laughter and Hermione shook her head, though she had a smile on her face too.
‘There’s no way you did that!’ Fred cried out with mischief playing in his eyes.
‘Oh no, it’s true. And the best thing is that they never caught us. They did suspect that we did it, but they never found any evidence.’
‘What happened to the teacher?’ Ron asked.
‘He quitted his job, I have never seen him again. It was a bit sad, though. He had been working there for a long time. But you know, he deserved it.’
‘Wait, do you mean Richardson?’ asked Sirius, who was sitting behind you. You turned around to him and nodded.
‘Yeah, do you know him?’
‘I do, he was horrible. We pulled a lot of pranks on him. But I thought that he had left in our sixth year,’ Sirius said and you nodded again.
‘He came back in my fourth year. Worst decision he ever made,’ you laughed.
-+-+-+-
At the end of the night, when all but you and Sirius went to bed, you sat on the ground with your back against the couch. You rested your head on the seating surface of the sofa and tool a deep breath. Sirius was watching you from his place opposite of you. The contours of your face were lit up by the light of the fireplace and your silhouette contrasted with the darkness of the room. Sirius had to suppress the urge to reach out his hand and trace the shapes of your face.
‘These kids sure know how to drink!’ you said as you held the empty bottle upside down above your tongue. Sirius laughed and shook his head. He liked you even more now, knowing some secrets of you. Though you hadn’t told your deepest secrets, Sirius was happy that you had felt comfortable enough to open up a little. It surprised him that you had been somewhat of a rebel in your teenage years.
‘We should go to bed,’ Sirius said, feeling a twitch of nervousness as he realised that you’d be sleeping in his bed. ‘We’ve got a big day tomorrow.’
Sirius got up and pulled you up too. ‘I don’t want to go to bed!’ you whined.
The nerves increased in Sirius’ stomach and he tried not to show it when you stood next to him and wrapped your arm around his waist. You rested your head on his shoulder while you stared at the fireplace.
‘Why is that?’ Sirius asked, though he feared the answer. Maybe he had made a mistake by asking you to sleep with him. Maybe he should have let you stay with the girls, like you had suggested.
‘I’ve had so much fun today. I don’t want this day to be over yet,’ you whispered, your voice barely audible over the sound of the fire.
Sirius turned to look at you and he pressed a kiss on your hairline when he saw your sad face. You looked at him and flashed him a sad smile.
‘I know,’ Sirius whispered. ‘But tomorrow is a new day and it’ll be just as much fun as today. I promise.’
‘How can you promise that?’
‘Because it will be my task to make tomorrow just as fun as today,’ Sirius said and he grinned at you. ‘And I never fail my tasks.’
-+-+-+-
You sat awkwardly on the edge of the bed. When Sirius had suggested to sleep in the same bed, it had seemed like a good idea, but now you were doubting. What if it would get awkward? There’s no turning back now.
You put on your sleep shirt and stood by the window. Outside the street was white with a layer of fresh snow. Little snowflakes were blown against the window. You could feel the cold from the window embracing you, asking if you want to come out. You placed your palm flat against the glass and shivered as the cold spread through your hand.
Two people were walking hand in hand through the snow, their smiles visible from your place behind the window. You chuckled at the two persons slipping on the sidewalk. They were holding onto each other and when the one fell, the other was pulled down too. One of the two scribbled up and pulled the other against their chest. The two lovers stared at each other and then shared a sweet, passionate kiss.
Your hand on the glass cramped together and made a fist. Pain flowed through your body in a shock, leaving a burning feeling in your heart and kicking the air out of your longs. It had been a long time since you had felt something like you had seen outside. You had thought you had found it in your last boyfriend, but that had been proven wrong only three months ago. Although you knew it was way better now you were apart, it still hurt to think of him. To think that everything had been right until one day your heart was ripped from your chest.
The painful thoughts swam in your mind even minutes after the people are gone, causing tears to roll down from your cheeks to the windowsill. What pulled you from your thoughts was a hand on your shoulder. You turned around at the sudden touch and looked in the worried eyes of Sirius. Without thinking you leaned into his touch and wrapped your arms around him, crying in his chest. He put his arms around you and kissed the top of your head. Breathing on the pace of his breath you calmed down.
‘I think that is enough emotions for a day. You should sleep,’ Sirius said and pushed you a little back so he could look in your eyes. You chuckled watery and nodded.
Slipping under the covers you watched Sirius as he closed the curtains, after looking outside to see what you were crying about. A warm feeling spread in your chest and wiping the tears away with the soft sheets you smiled.
Cold air hit your leg and the mattress moved when Sirius lied down next to you. The warmth and closeness of Sirius’ body made you blush. You were happy it was dark and the colour of your face was hidden from him. You moved so you were lying on your side and looked at Sirius’ silhouette in the dark. He was busy trying to get the sheets right and you smiled.
‘Thank you so much for letting me stay here,’ you whispered, when Sirius lied down. He turned his head to you and by his hot breath on your skin you noticed he was close.
‘Of course, darling. Where else would you have gone? I couldn’t let you stay out on the streets, you’d freeze!’
‘No, I’m serious-’ Sirius let out a laugh and you sighed as you realised your mistake, ‘oh, shut up. But really, you have created a home for me here and I can’t think of a better place to spend Christmas than here,’ you said and added in a soft whisper: ‘with you…’
Sirius didn’t react and your heart started to beat in your throat. You feared you had made a terrible mistake and sweat broke out, but Sirius took your hand and pulled you closer to him. He placed his left arm under your back and rested his right hand on your waist, so you were lying on your stomach with your head on his chest.
‘Me neither,’ he whispered and kissed the top of your head.
That night, you fell asleep listening to Sirius’ heartbeat.

Arcturus/Melania for a prompt?
April 3rd, 1923
Arcturus Black scowled at the sight before him.
There were dozens of them—from Hogwarts students who'd barely finished their O.W.L.'s to the despaired over daughters yet unwed and rapidly approaching the number deemed the end of an unattached pureblood woman's use (30), All the available pureblood girls (along with some rather bold, uppity half-bloods) were currently flooding the ballroom at Noire House, each about as desirable as the option that came before them.
As always, thoughts of Cedrella made his lip curl even further.
The sound of Abraxas's hiss of distaste brought the young heir to the House of Black out of what his sister would call his sulking, and he pinned down the young Malfoy heir with a questioning gaze.
"Wilhemina Selwyn is wearing the most ghastly gown I've ever seen in my life," He uttered, shuddering theatrically.
"It's not the dress that's at fault," came the smirking voice of Alexander Rowle. "It's the fact that it shows off those repugnant, veiny arms of hers."
"The gown, the veins—I care not, I'm blaming whatever's remotely involved with forcing me to witness that."
"Boys!"
Arcturus turned his head languidly at the unmistakeably deep voice of his younger brother Regulus—that somehow he still managed to make sound effeminate—and gave his brother a curt nod that the younger Black could glean the meaning off a mile away.
Arcturus was having a miserable time.
"Well, don't tell me you've started without me."
"We would never dare," Abraxas raised his glass, mockingly. "What fun is the game without the best player?"
‘The game’ being the snide comments each of them delighted in making about all the other party guests.
"Now, Archie—I know when my older brother's in a snit," Regulus smiled to himself at the eye-roll this elicited from his brother, then theatrically lowered his voice. "Tell me, which of them was it and where did they touch you?"
Arcturus's face turned bright red while Malfoy and Rowle tried—poorly—to hide their sniggers behind their goblets.
"Careful with your brother, Black," Rowle said, stamping down the last vestiges of his laughter. "The Macmillans pounced on him with their eldest twenty minutes ago and he's been in a state since."
Regulus furrowed his brow and scrunched up his nose in distaste. "Mildred Macmillan? Oh, Archie, you poor dear. Thoroughly repellant woman."
Arcturus huffed in agreement. "Too lippy by half."
"Believe me when I say I share in your misery, Arcturus." Regulus took a light sip from his sidecar. "The Crabbes just downright assaulted me with that Aligherian creature they call a daughter."
Abraxas snorted. "Aren't they speaking with your uncle about Pollux?"
"Yes, but why settle for the third-in-line when you can get the second?" He shrugged, perfectly flippant in that way only Regulus could be. "Not that it makes any difference for them, I'm afraid. Irma isn’t to my taste, ghastly personality aside.”
The others shifted their feet uncomfortably while Arcturus ground his teeth to dust. Regulus's...preferences were bad enough, but to have it alluded to in such a way! Still, Regulus' unflappable manner and his overly sharp tongue—owed to a childhood of reading everything there was in the library—tended to amuse the pureblood men in their set enough to engender a tentative kinship. If nothing else, he was a novelty—and, above all else, a Black.
"Either way, I'd still say my evening has been less miserable than yours, Arcturus. After all, you were the one this whole soireé was thrown for."
Arcturus grimaced. "I haven't forgotten. I can hardly go to the restroom without being accosted by some impudent hoyden with designs above her station. That little jape you made wasn't too far off, I'll have you know."
Regulus laughed, gaily. "I trust nothing as bad as your Hogwarts Graduation party happened yet, has it?"
Arcturus grimaced at the memory of a very drunk, very indecent Caroline Greengrass hiding underneath his bedsheets in some pie-eyed notion to make herself Mrs. Black.
"No, Thank God. Aside from the Fawleys practically throwing their plain daughter at me."
"Eugenie?" Alexander scoffed. "Quiet as a mouse and about as attractive as one to boot."
"What do you expect?" Malfoy scoffed. "She is a Fawley after all—no wonder they decided to send that sister of hers to France. Those debauched cheesemongers will take anything as long as it's got legs."
"Regardless," Arcturus said, over Rowle's chuckling and Regulus's poorly hidden laugh. "I will need to pick one by the end of the night. Won't do for my uncle to waste all this gold for nothing."
"Oh, be still my beating heart," Regulus quipped.
"What do you want from me, Regulus?" Arcturus asked, patience worn thinner than his Uncle Cygnus's hair. "This is a cattle show with ballgowns, nothing more."
Regulus lifted up his hands in mock surrender. "Down, Archie. It's only a jape—you're no fun at all tonight. Normally we all have a delightful time bullying these unfortunates and you're stewing like a...stew? Bah, I can't think of anything clever to say anymore, this sidecar really does pack a punch."
The MacMillans appeared to have caught sight of him if the matriarch—a Goyle from a secondary branch that was far too ambitious for her own good—pointing wildly in Arcturus's direction to her long-suffering husband was any sign.
"If you'll excuse me—I need to leave before that woman tears me to pieces."
Without another word in his companions' direction, he bolted from the pillar they had been hiding behind for the last half-hour, and left through the first open door for the gardens he could find. Thankfully, Arcturus neither saw nor heard any witches or wizards upon his arrival outside, and he breathed out a sigh of immense relief.
He stayed there a few seconds, fixed to the marble flooring as if it were some rendezvous point, then shook off any odd feelings and set about a brisk walk around the gardens to gather his bearings.
As always, however, God had not seen fit to make his dreadful day any easier and after a few minutes of nothing but blessed solitude, he saw a petite girl at the entrance of the greenhouse.
Arcturus frowned. Brown hair, brown eyes—similar enough in looks but less beautiful than her elder sister. Yes, it was most certainly the younger Macmillan girl—she was in Regulus’s year, if he recalled correctly.
As if he hadn’t had enough of that lot today.
“Miss Macmillan, is it?”
The slip of a girl jumped, letting out a slight yelp in surprise.
“Oh, my—Mr—Sir, I, forgive me, I was only—“
“Settle down, Miss Macmillan. I mean no harm.” Arcturus walked toward her, grateful that she seemed to calm slightly at his approach. He had no patience for dealing with a ditzy, skittish schoolgirl tonight on top of everything else.
“Arcturus Black,” He nodded at her, rather less curt than he usually did, much to his own confusion. “We met earlier, I believe.”
“Yes, of course, Mr. Black. What an unexpected pleasure.”
He snorted lightly, but didn’t comment. “Have you an interest in botany?” He nodded toward the venomous tentacula plant she’d been studying before his entrance.
The girl nodded, enthusiastic. “Herbology is my best subject at Hogwarts. We haven’t taken our N.E.W.T.’s yet, but I’m sure I’ll do well.”
“Seventh year?”
The girl nodded once, tucking an errant brown curl that had slipped out of her pinned updo behind her ear.
“The last year tends to be more...difficult for some,” Arcturus said, in an attempt at conversation—not that he knew how it felt for those who were sentimental about leaving hogwarts.
The headmaster during his own years there was his very own grandfather, after all.
She seemed to hesitate, biting her lip lightly. Looking at her in this light, he thought perhaps his judgement of her beauty was rather unfair—she wasn’t as pretty as her sister, but she was the farthest thing from plain. “It’s hard to believe it’s all over in three months. I’m rather glad I have more time to garden, however. Aside from Herbology, school was never much of an interest for me. I’ll leave all those books to my husband when I marry, I’m sure.” Arcturus nodded in approval at that, the beginnings of an idea forming in his mind. “And you?”
He gave her a dry look. “I’m afraid the only thing I know about plants is how to kill them.”
She smiled shyly at the jest, and bizarrely he found himself returning it. “I’m sure you’re not as bad as all that. I hear you’ve an interest in horseflesh—one needs to be somewhat proficient in herbology if they intend to keep their horses in good health.”
Arcturus blinked, rendered mute upon the first thoughtful words he’d heard anyone say all evening. “Quite,” he nodded. “Are you knowledgeable in horseflesh, Miss?”
“I’d like to think so,” She said, fiddling with her gloves. “My grandfather keeps a stable at our house in Kintyre. I’ve been riding them since I was seven.”
“Side-saddle?” Arcturus asked, probingly.
She looked slightly offended. “Of course, Mr. Black—I could hardly ride astride, it’s unseemly for a woman.”
Arcturus felt a feline grin make its way onto his face. “I quite agree, I hope I didn’t cause any offence. Please, call me Arcturus.”
She blinked, then had the grace to blush—as if his choice hadn’t already been made obvious to him, that only solidified it further. “Of course, Arcturus, none was taken. You may call me Melania, then—or Melly, if it pleases you—that’s what everyone calls me,” she supplied, holding out her hand almost hesitatingly. Arcturus, just as all pureblood men were taught, dropped a kiss to the back of it, keeping eye contact all the way through.
Modest? Demure? Beautiful, but not so much it made her unbearably impudent and overly entitled?
The only downside was having that Goyle harpy as a mother-in-law. Then again, if all the men in his family had taught him anything, it’s that every man hates his mother-in-law. Either way, at least this dreadful affair could finally come to an end—as well as the incessant stream of grasping trollops his bachelorhood brought with it.
Silver linings and all that.

Leap of Faith
AO3
Warning: Talks about blood purity.
It was the most hyped up and controversial game of the year. Slytherin versus Gryffindor. In a fight for the Quidditch Cup.
James was quite exhilarated about it all though, despite the hostility surrounding the game.
James lived for large crowds, chanting, rivalry, and winning.
He loved winning.
The feel of being revered when he made a game winning catch. Of being able to walk the halls with people congratulating him or even better, envying him.
Well, the Slytherins congratulated him. And sometimes Hufflepuffs, but Hufflepuffs congratulated both teams for the sake of sportsmanship.
The Gryffindors would envy him. For a while at least, until there was some fight between the sides, showcasing how disgusting some of his housemates truly were, and then Gryffindors didn’t envy the Slytherins anymore.
But despite all of the quidditch-induced rivalry and buzz, James was excited for the game for an entirely different reason.
 Going against Lily Evans.
Lily Evans. Christmas on a stick. Sass level unmatched. And also, Gryffindor’s seeker.
James was the Slytherin seeker.
Which meant he’d be allowed to observe Lily Evans all game long without being scolded by his housemates.
Of course, he was always being scolded and harassed by his housemates because he thought muggleborns and half-breeds alike were worthy of life, liberty, and love. Though his house did not seem to agree.
Besides Regulus Black to some extent. Though Regulus usually sided with his family in public, James knew he did not agree with them entirely. This led to James trying to protect Regulus and lead him down a more morally powerful side, but that only worked for so long.
Regulus had gotten the dark mark, and now there was no amount of protecting James could do.
But through all of his efforts to help the younger Black heir, he befriended the older Black ex-heir. Sirius Black was good fun to be around, though he sometimes lacked ambition surrounding his studies and future achievements.
James didn’t blame him, but thought it was dumb not to at least try to get top marks and excel anywhere he could. Especially if Sirius wanted to outrun the infamy of his last name.
Oh well, at least he was noble…most of the time.
But back to Lily Evans.
James had only gotten to know Lily through Severus Snape, and as such, was skeptical of her character at first.
But when Lily Evans allowed her sass to go against her childhood friend and his beliefs, James knew she could be trusted.
He also knew she could be trusted because after the incident that caused her to end her and Snape’s friendship, she had requested a new potions partner. Slughorn had only been too happy to switch Snape with James, much to Snape’s anger and James’ joy.
Not to mention Lily’s eyes matched his house colors, which he thought made her even more likeable.
The first day they had worked together, Lily had seemed put out to be partnered with him. But after James made sure to stay on top of the potion, and even prevented a catastrophe when Lily confused two different dragon scales, she seemed to at least tolerate him.
And then the quidditch pitch happened.
James had been on his way to practice a few extra moves before his official practice but had been prevented when he found the snitch already being used by his favorite Gryffindor. Well, besides Sirius.
Lily had been trying to practice a diving roll to catch the snitch, which was typically done if the snitch was close to the ground so that one could jump off their broom and land safely on the grass, but Evans didn’t seem to be able to truly jump off her broom.
Her bravery had been lacking that day, and his had been soaring.
He had ruffled his hair as he had begun to speak, “Quite ambitious of you to be practicing outside of your time slot, don’t you think?”
She hadn’t even batted an eye as she responded, “And quite brave to be teasing a girl who could unleash the bludgers while you’re unprepared.”
“Touché. Now are you going to ever actually jump off your broom or continue to miss the snitch because you’re scared.”
She had now dismounted her broom and blew some of her auburn fringe out of her eyes. “If it’s so easy, then you do it Mr. Brave Slytherin.”
James smirked as he mounted his broom, “Alright. Release the snitch.”
Lily had quirked an eyebrow as she pushed the snitch forward. The snitch flittered close to James nose, enough to reflect in his glasses, and then zoomed forward and towards the ground. James leaned as far forward as he could, prompting his broom to speed up, and then at the last second, pushed off the broom with his feet and clasped the snitch safely in his palms. He completed the move with a barrel roll and a quiet “accio” to retrieve his broom, which he smugly caught when he stood up to wink at the dumbfounded girl.
“That—That was—How--”
James smirked at her floundering and ruffled his hair, “Takes resourcefulness and ambition and, something I thought Gryffindors were supposed to have in abundance, bravery.”
He inwardly grinned when her eyes narrowed, “Alright. Fine. Teach me.”
He beamed at those words.
“A Gryffindor asking a Slytherin for help. What would Godric think?”
She stuck her tongue out at him, “A Slytherin being kind, what would Salazar think?”
He chuckled and motioned towards her broom. He had her practice balancing on her feet a few times and then pushing forward with her feet as well.
That had been an awkward exercise for him as he had to stand behind her to make sure she was doing it properly. It had given him a perfect view of her in her quidditch trousers. He had to admit his chivalry was really lacking during that exercise, but he figured he retained a normal amount of it. Not everyone had Gryffindor levels of chivalry.
Finally, it was time for her to actually jump. He should not have been surprised when she achieved it on the first try, but never-the-less, he was.
“Brilliant! Good job, Evans! You’re a natural!” He may have gotten over excited and pulled her into a hug, but well, he felt pride when he was able to help a fellow student.
He remembered the way his chin had sat on her head and her head laid on his chest. It was, in his humble opinion, a good hug.
Lily had blushed at his compliment, or maybe his hug, he wasn’t sure, and told him, “Well yeah. I’ve been practicing on my own for awhile. Just had to gain a little courage and confidence.”
“Just had to use your courage and confidence. You’ve always had plenty, you just let your fears get in the way.”
She had smiled lightly at him, “You know, you’re not that bad. For a Slytherin.”
He snorted, “You’re not that bad for a Gryffindor.”
She had side-eyed him, “I assume you aren’t a blood purist? You didn’t even hesitate to hug me.”
James furrowed his brows at her, “What made you think I might be?”
She shrugged, “Everyone in your house seems to be. Wouldn’t be surprised if you were, especially since you’re a pureblood too.”
James clenched his jaw. People always assumed that about him. On one hand, he couldn’t blame her, on the other, he thought every person deserved the chance to show who they really were, regardless of house or family.
“Right. I guess you just see what you want. Wouldn’t be surprised if you thought Sirius was a purist too.”
Lily could tell she touched a nerve. She had shaken her head, “No. It’s just. We have to be cautious. Could cost me my life if I assumed you weren’t a death eater.”
James raised his eyebrows. He hadn’t thought of it from that perspective. “That makes sense. Sorry for snapping at you.”
She had seemed surprised at his apology. “It’s alright. And um, I think your team is here. I should probably go, but thanks for the help. I’ll be sure to use it when we beat you.” Then she had winked and made her way back to the castle.
James had ignored everything his teammates had said that day in favor of replaying her wink.
After that day, Lily seemed to consider him a friend.
Lily had made it a point to keep a conversation going during potions. Had studied with him in the library. And she had even invited him to sit with her, Sirius, Remus, and Peter at the Gryffindor table.
He thought they were getting along smashingly and hoped it would not crush their budding relationship when Slytherin won.
 --
The game had started in a whirlwind, with the noises from the audience growing to deafening sounds and the wind beating against his face. He tried to drown it all out by focusing on searching for the snitch but when he noticed Lily flying towards him, he couldn’t help but acknowledge her.
He had begun to wave, but Lily continued straight towards him, until she was close enough to lightly shoulder check him.
He rocked a little on his broom but was able to gain enough balance to shoulder check her back.
“Better watch where you’re going Evans. Hate for you to miss when I catch the snitch.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t miss what doesn’t happen.” Then she had turned a 180 and flew towards the sky to get better optics.
They had each tailed the other a few times and yelled at fellow teammates, cheering and booing respectively when someone scored.
Slytherin was up by 120 points. Surprisingly, if James was honest. But apparently, Gryffindor’s chasers were suffering today, much to Lily’s dismay.
Malfoy had yelled at James to stop ogling Lily, though Lucius had used a word James made a point to never say.
Sirius had shot several bludgers Malfoy’s way after that, and Regulus shot a few back towards his brother, though slightly slower compared to when he aimed at other Gryffindors.
Then, James saw it. A golden glint thanks to the sun, near the Slytherin goals.
Unfortunately, Lily had seen it too, and they both shot off towards it.
Eventually, they were both right behind it, with James longer arms being closer than Lily’s. They followed it higher for a few minutes, the air getting harsher, and each of them inching closer,
until Lily yelled a loud, “CATCH ME!”
James looked at her like she was insane, only for her to wink and jump completely off her broom, into the freezing sky.
“EVANS!!”
James abandoned his quest for the snitch and instead focused on grabbing some part of Lily Evans that had dived towards the snitch.
Gravity had barely begun to pull the absolutely mad girl down, when James finally grabbed her fanned out shirt.
He felt his arm strain and he grunted as he worked to pull her up onto his broom, “You’ll be the death of both of us Evans, I swear.” He heaved and used his other hand to support the arm that was holding Lily.
Finally, after tremendous effort, Lily was sat behind him on his firebolt, grinning victoriously and holding the snitch up proudly.
The crowd was cheering raucously, with many people standing and whistling. The Gryffindor team was running towards the Quidditch Cup McGonagall was holding up, with Sirius hugging the usually professional woman. James noticed his teammates looking equally parts angry and shocked.
He ignored them and instead turned to Lily while he began their descent.
“You’re either certifiably insane or incredibly brave Evans, though at this point the lines are blurred.”
Lily grinned at him, “The jump wasn’t that big of a deal. But trusting a Slytherin was.”
And then she kissed him. Which was also very dangerous in the air, but James figured some things were worth the risk.

some of my fav headcannons for regulus:
- virgo sun, cap rising, and pisces moon (still a bit indecisive tho)
- gets top grades!!! he is effortlessly smart and enjoys studying, reading and all of that nerd shit
- he is tall(ish)!!! maybe like a 5’10 or 5’11 around 16 years old. i think all of the blacks are fucking giants, so compared to his brother, yeah he’s ‘short’ 😒
- but.... before he was 16 he was a bit short and on the scrawny side. i think he was one of those guys that went through all of puberty over one summer. so he was seen as a baby for a while 😒
- he’s skinny, but he got a little bit of muscle. he plays quidditch 🤷‍♀️.
- runs a lot... it’s a time for him to be alone and relax
- i hc him as bi, but i also like stories where he’s ace or gay! 💗💜💙
- had a huge crush on james potter, but unrequited :( (but i do like jegulus stories!!!)
- had a confusing relationship with Barty Crouch.
- both were like ✨ bro... are we flirting?... or is it just a bro thing? ✨
- yes it was flirting🙄... but the only way regulus could flirt was roasting the fuck out of barty so it was hard to go any further
- he just cannot for his life able to express or define love in a healthy way.
- all regulus know is, make fun of people he likes, have trouble defining platonic and romantic love, be bisexual, have no moral compass, and lie 😐
- remember the discourse about him being a whore?
- i completely agree. i think he was a fuckboy.
- however, i don’t think he would realize his fuckboy tendencies. it was more just go with the flow... i’ll hook up with whoever i like... but that meant he unintentionally hurt a lot of people
- he probably would act normal right after like nothing happened and tell them it wasn’t a big deal😒
- it’s just that he can’t focus on a relationship and it was just a fun little one-time thing ☝️😩
- cannot imagine getting married or having children. waaaay too afraid of commitment
- his fuckboy energy definitely gives me saggitarrius vibes 😐 i hate those mfs much. def has a lot of sag or gemini placements
- always went for older girls (‼️mommy issues‼️)
- anger issues, will not hesitate to get into physical and verbal fights!!! he’s no shy, whiny, bitch baby 🥱
- he is a sarcastic little shit who teases his friends, but he’s also really sensitive to others' feelings. so for the people he cares about, he’ll try his best to limit the teasing
- i really do believe he was a sympathetic person and sweet sometimes but because of how he was raised it was hard for him to express it
- he can come off as selfish, uninterested, and overall, an asshole. it’s true, but he definitely exaggerates these traits in front of others (especially when met with emotional situations) 😬
- but his sympathetic nature is there 😞 just buried very deep within himself
- when it comes to quidditch... definitely turns into a jock
- yells “LETS GOOOOO” during practice 😭. would also definitely be the type to post his game stats on his story
- will break a rule or few 😼 but scared of authority (his mama mostly) so... not too far... unless he really knows he’s gonna get away with it 🏃🏽‍♀️💨
- really, really deep sleeper. has about 5 alarms to wake him up. trained himself to wake up naturally so he doesn’t have to depend on whether the alarm will wake him up or not.
- does not get cold. however, he will literally throw himself across the room if he comes in contact with cold feet or hands
- sirius and regulus would act like normal fucking siblings!!!!
- if sirius tells reg to do something, he would most likely do the opposite!!! (that’s what my younger sibling does 😐 most annoying shit ever)
- they fight and argue all the time over stupid shit!!!
- and most importantly, they do not think of each other 24/7!!! i saw a post saying regulus should be able to make his own decisions without having sirius involved all the time... and i completely agree!!!
- also, i hate the head cannon that reg and sirius lived in a physically abusive household. yes, they may have dealt with some emotional neglect because the family was so traditional and strict... but there was absolutely no evidence of physical abuse
-anyway... just a few more
- nic addiction and smokes occasionally (smokes joints because rolling is therapeutic for him)
- he struggles with mood disorders. i think we can all agree on this 😁
- i don’t think he was a loner 🙄 he had friends... maybe not super close... but he could rely on a few. maybe like barty or evan rosier.
- hated snape. thought he was gross, a hypocrite, and found his obsession with the marauders and lily annoying
- prodigy level at playing the piano and loves painting and sketching!!! ugh he’s so talented 😼
- dramatic and petty 🥱
- and lastly...
- HE’S FUCKING HOT AND A PRETTY ASS MF!!! 😈

All in the Family
Chapter 144: Hermione's Helping Hand
The room was a very dangerous landing, each of them got a book to the head no matter where they landed. Frank was on a flaming red comforter on the bed with a dog eared copy, the title so faded he hadn't a hope of recognizing it until he flipped through a few pages, and even then did not follow the Muggle story.* Alice had a heavy tomb smash so hard against her forehead she saw stars, and it was over a copy of some muggle thing to do with the human anatomy a Healer would struggle to follow.
Lily groaned miserably as she removed a book on alchemy from her face, and Potter's glasses had broken where he'd faced planted a window with an interesting view of a Muggle neighborhood and still had a book on the windowsill crack a lens he couldn't even read the title of now.
Peter had to pull himself out from a whole pile of books, on top of which was Defensive Magical Theory, by Wilbert Slinkhard, and Regulus even found one on teeth he had to dislodge from his own.
Remus landed painfully on a desk, the book losing its place as the bookmark toppled out of sight he felt bad for, and Sirius even found a copy of Quidditch Through the Ages to his distaste for the first time in his life as he pulled it from where it had whacked his ear.
The silver book itself they were all supposed to be here for sat in the middle of the room with the air of innocence. For once.
"As if we haven't been traumatized by enough books already," James sighed as he tapped his glasses to fix them.
"If this room isn't Hermione's, then I'll kiss a centaur," Sirius happily informed the room at large.
"Brilliant deduction there," Lily rolled her eyes, but there was only amusement in her voice. "Did you figure that out before or after this?" She was holding a picture of Hermione in this very room, a still image of her sitting at this very desk with Crookshank's in her lap, the sun just visible on the horizon from the window.
The walls didn't house much decoration, it was simple yet charming to see so much of her personality packed into the comfortably sized room.
"The best part is, I bet this is only a quarter of the ones she owns," James grinned. "She takes most of them with her to school!"
Sirius laughed and Lily found herself smiling in agreement as Lupin tried the door, which mercifully opened. The others scattered about the house, some for the loo, some for the kitchen. Sirius made to do the latter, but lingered in the door jam to watch in fascination as Prongs hesitated, and then turned back to Evans.
There was a reluctance in him he'd seen a few times now, and he had a very good guess why James was suddenly so hesitant to engage with her. He'd been devastated by the news of Sirius' death, arguably more than him even, and it wasn't hard to follow his logic if he had to change something to keep it from happening it would be taking Harry out of the equation via her. He wished his brother wouldn't think like that, but he'd never liked Evans much himself to understand his fascination with her and so wasn't even sure how to urge him back.
When James turned back holding in whatever he'd been about to say though, Lily startled them both by asking, "so, do you know what a dentist is?" The tone was mild, maybe a little mocking, but she was now holding the book Regulus had spat out with a curious smile.
He would have expected James, as usual, to not actually know how to respond to her when she spoke like a normal human being. Instead he hesitated with an odd smile in place and said casually, "not really, but I got the idea. Teeth and such, Muggles need them cared for without a spell."
Prongs hesitated again, some torn expression lingering, before he softly asked as if speaking of her ill coming death, "how come you never took Care of Magical Creatures?"
Sirius snorted fantastically, earning a dirty look from both of them. He raised his hands in surrender and took a step back into the hall, where Remus came up and pulled on him out of sight. James turned back to watching her, still unsure if he should have asked. She'd gotten assurances on their first day from McGonagall, Flitwick, and Slughorn all the creatures came to no harm for their classes to commence. He'd watched her love of animals long after that, she'd taken to cuddling with every cat in the common room and watched the birds deliver post every morning despite receiving none of her own long after other Muggle-borns grew used to it, but that look of awe and longing lingered in her.
Just because he'd given up on the idea of her didn't mean he couldn't still learn more about her, right? It was something he'd wanted to know for years but obviously she'd never have answered before. Maybe if he tried without the flirting he'd get a better result.
And, it worked. She went a little red, but answered casually, "I was trying to prove something, to my parents, to Snape, myself. Taking Arithmancy and Runes, the harder and more difficult classes. I regret it a bit now."
Potter watched her, absolutely fascinated by her little speech it seemed. She kept waiting for that to wear off now that she was actually trying to talk to him on a regular basis, but it didn't seem to be happening.
"You can take it come NEWT year if you want," he told her, that damnable cheerful smile creeping back now as they managed the first casual conversation of their life. "Remus will lend you his notes for the OWL's next week if you want."
She laughed in surprise, then realized he wasn't joking. He really thought she was that smart she could take a class she hadn't been in for two years? "I'll, ah, take that into consideration," she tried to shrug.
He hesitated, seemed to decide he'd pushed her enough, and then finally left. He'd gotten her to laugh, that was more of an accomplishment he'd managed in his life already! He glanced the way two of his friends went, rolled his eyes, and called towards the kitchen, "hey Alice, want to show me how a muggle stove works!"
Lily blanched in fear of him burning the house down and snatched up the actual needed book, not bothering to pretend to herself she was smiling as she followed along and cracked it open, but paused to take in the rest.
The hallway was littered with cheerful hallmark signs such as 'Love, Life, Live,' and several more of Hermione through the years, but Lily kept watching the muggle photos despite the fact that they weren't moving in mild curiosity for several moments before it occurred to her why they seemed a little odd. Hermione was alone in each of them, smiling brightly, but the only one in focus. Not only no friends hanging off her arm in her primary years as she held up spelling awards and science fair projects, but her parents didn't seem in any of them either. One particularly telling one was a candid shot of a very young Hermione sitting in an empty waiting room, reading a book far too big for her lap. Only when she got to the very end of most recent photos hinted at who could have been there all these years, and it was an extremely elder lady, possibly her grandmother or even a nanny, the photo at such an angle it was clearly taken by her as well as she stood shoulder to shoulder with Hermione. The tender look of love in the older woman's eyes only leveled with the weary exhaustion in the folds of her skin. Beneath that was a hand drawn calligraphy plaque with the year and date, but no other sort of explanation except her socially awkward behavior from back at the first book.
The kitchen seemed to double as a study, there were heavy journals on multiple surfaces, Frank was flipping curiously through one that was ear marked with dates, names, and what the appointment was going to be for, another that Regulus was prodding his wand along curiously through every page seemed to house lots of studies and practices on how Hermione's parents could improve their work. She doubted he followed a word, even she probably couldn't.
The chapter title itself was unsurprising, and she went through it still laughing it was all about Harry's first act as Captain sorting out members of his team, indeed with Hermione's help. Wasn't this just a day of surprises.
Potter continued to rank highest of all in that regards. The look on his face when he found out what Hermione did was priceless.
The reason behind it she misunderstood.
"She cheated? On Quidditch! I'd expect this girl to snog Snape before I heard her do something like this!"
"She did set Snape on fire once during a game." Alice happily reminded as she swatted his hand away from the hot surface, again. He seemed to keep forgetting despite the red light and heat waves coming up from the innocent black circle. "Guess her bar goes out the window during sports," she finished with a giggle.
His flummoxed expression still seemed at war if he should be impressed or agitated at this, while Regulus was snickering relentlessly for the show as well as he said, "I thought it was brilliant, as if I want to sit around hearing about that McLaggen's temper for the games, he'll ruin what little fun we've been getting out of these."
His eyes tracked curiously as he seemed to realize his brother wasn't in here to give his opinion, but seemed distracted enough when Peter spoke, "think of it this way, you or Padfoot would have done it to some arse in the hallway if he was really saying half that shite. Does the location matter that much?"
"I mean, yes," he pouted, but if anything he looked more confused. "Quidditch shouldn't be trifled with," he finished with a hint of defiance, but eventually sighed and turned back to turning the stove on and off with the odd switch and all the numbers while she finished.
Remus let his fingers brush against Sirius' and subtly pulled his fingers before letting go. Sirius needed no further prompting before following him out of the room into what must be Hermione's parents room. Remus didn't care as he locked the door and then hugged Sirius.
He laughed in delight, immediately returning it as he said quietly into his neck, "I'm getting whiplash from you."
"I just wanted to make sure you know I'm grateful," Remus told him as he pulled back, having to remind himself not to let his hands linger. "For not beating Frank's face into a pulp, back in the apothecary," he elaborated.
The fact that Sirius never held his mood swings against him or even ever accused him of being moody because of the full moon made him wish he could snog his face off right about now. Merlin, James had barely been involved and he'd called him on being an emotional ass!
"Oh," Sirius' face did not settle into a promising expression, barely concealed anger still there, but he made such a valiant effort to push it back away Remus had to fight back the urge to kiss him again. "Right, you're welcome. If he had done it on purpose though, I can't say I'd have been able to stop myself." Moony and Prongs had made a valid point, better Longbottom occasionally forget the dangers than continue being a racist arse, but his point still stood there was a middle ground that wouldn't put Remus in pain! The Marauders all knew it, couldn't he?!
Remus really couldn't resist and let his hand brush along his cheek and settle down on his neck as he gazed into his eyes. Sirius hummed as always at the physical affection. Remus could have hugged him back in the apothecary and not been an arse about this too! This really would just have to be enough for him, he could never ask for better friends. He reluctantly let his hand drop back away with one more whispered thanks.
Sirius looked hurt though, to Remus' confusion. "Why do you keep doing that?"
"Doing what?" He denied, he really hadn't thought Sirius would realize he was starting to back off yet, as much else as he was dealing with.
"Remus, you've barely looked at me since the polyjuice prank," Sirius finally called his crap. "So if you're not mad at me, would you please say so?"
"I'm not," Remus instantly promised. Merlin if he was mad at Sirius for every stupid prank he'd never not be enraged at this one. "I'm, mad at myself." He finally reluctantly admitted.
Sirius' face clouded with concern. Even on top of dealing with James, Peter, and Regulus at once Padfoot hadn't once tried to cope a field on him for some fun away from them while in this room, and a traitorous bubble of hope still lingered in Remus' chest this could mean more to Sirius. They were just friends with benefits, he instantly reminded himself. Friends! Of course he cares, you know he does.
"Anything I can do to help?" Sirius was even the one to reach for his hand, their fingers naturally intertwining.
"It's, Harry," he finally gave a half truth, which was still a truth that the book provided. He couldn't believe he'd only been back in Prongs's kids life once so far this year with Sirius out of the picture. "Not even writing to him, I'm just, this future- I don't want to stop-" He stopped himself quickly before something stupid came out. 'Being there for you,' probably sounded way too intimate to Padfoot. Maybe if he'd actually been around Sirius during that awful Ministry fight he would have come back out of it and none of this would be thrown in their face so repeatedly!
What kind of heartless monster couldn't do the bare minimum to look after one of his best friends kids anyways? And he was complaining Sirius wasn't ready for more, he clearly wasn't capable of it either.
Sirius had such a beautiful smile, and one he so rarely showed anyone. A smirk, his teasing grin were all anyone but the Marauders ever got to see, and Remus drank his fill in now as Padfoot squeezed his fingers while mimicking as well, tracing his cheek before letting his hand rest on his neck as they naturally mirrored each other. Remus wouldn't dream of denying he instantly felt warm and assured as he leaned into the touch even before Sirius told, "this future's a mess Moony. Don't kick yourself about this poor kids life we have no control over. We'll find a way to fix this."
He spoke with such assurance it's like they should have heard the very words Evans was reading change to match. Remus was convinced Sirius could hypnotize the moon to never be full again in that moment as he leaned in and kissed him.
It was just sweet, and gentle. There was no randiness in either of them, just a silent promise as Remus leaned back that no matter what, his words would be true.

Chapter 35
Tumblr media
"I don't even know if I'll be able to walk without the crutch," I lean against the wall, watching the others choose a dress for prom.
"That is no excuse for not wearing a nice dress,” says Marlene.
“You don’t need to walk on it, just wear it," Lily adds.
"Better just wear normal clothes and use my crutch to trip others–“
“Don't be grumpy. It’ll be fun. It’s our last party at Hogwarts!” says Jenna.
"Won't you choose a dress?" Marlene asks.
“Jenna already chose it for me.”
"You say it as if I control you.”
"Because you do," I joke. She rolls her eyes.
"At least I know that Black will thank me for it, because you’re ungrateful.”
I laugh.
“Don't overreact. I agreed with the dress. It’s not that important. The real gossip is that it’ll be the first dance in which the two dungheads will finally be together without trying to kill each other,” I point out to Lily.
The others squeal with excitement making Lily blush.
“That's beautiful! We’ll finally be with Lily without her bickering about James!”adds Marlene.
“I never did that!” Lily exclaims.
“Yes you did!” We all say.
"Even Jenna and I knew it," I comment. I move my crutch a little, but it’s a big mistake, I hit one of the boxes next to me causing it to fall and the clothes that were inside are left disorderly on the floor, also, I lose my balance and end up hitting my knee.
"Ok, P. Why don't you wait outside?"
I frown. “You're talking to me like I’m a little girl.”
"Here, go by some sweets,” She says handing me money.
I make a face.
“Fine.”
I leave the store and walk to the nearby bench. I'll rest first, my knee still hurts.
For a few minutes I only see people passing from one place to another. Some girls also look for their prom dresses, makeup, accessories. They squeal while discussing their ideas with their friends. I laugh at their excitement, at least some get to enjoy this.
"Oh hello, Persephone,” I turn to my right to meet Peter.
"Hey, Pete,” He sits next to me.
"How long have you been sitting here?" He asks.
"Uh, just a few minutes, why?”
"Oh, no nothing. You, uh- haven't you seen anything strange?”
"Not yet, but it's still early. " I joke. "Why do you say that?”
“No reason,” He responds quickly.
"Are you okay, Peter? You're sweating a lot,” I point to his wet hair.
"Yes! Yes, I'm okay. Just, uh, a little nervous. It’s almost graduation and there are many things to do…”
"Really? I thought you just had to get a tux, you already have a date, what else do you have planned?”
"Uh, you know, I want that night to be special for the- the girl, my date, yeah,” He looks away.
"If you say so… Need help?”
"What?" He turns back to me. “No, no thanks. I'm fine, everything’s fine,” He looks to his right again. Rosier, Regulus and some other Slytherin boys stare back at us.
"Peter? Sure you're okay? Are they bothering you?”
"I should go. Goodbye, Persephone,” He doesn’t wait for my answer and runs in the opposite direction from the others.
That was very strange.
My gaze returns to Regulus. I sigh when he continues on his way with his friends.
How did he take the news about Alphard? Or maybe he already knew. I wish I could talk to him like I used to.
***
After a month, our student life finally ends. Very strange weeks, from my physical therapy with Madame Pomfrey, the other therapy with McGonagall and Dumbledore, although this was not planned, but it helped a lot to talk to the real adults about everything that I went through.
They didn't provide any solutions to my questions, but I still appreciate the help and advice. Dumbledore had a lot of muggle metaphors and references. I hope that one day they serve me and it’s not just a sign that the Headmaster has already gone crazy.
The time with my friends and boyfriend was quite relaxing. Talking about the future with them no longer sounded so overwhelming. We all panic about what might happen, but at least we are together.
The graduation ceremony was quite emotional. Apollo, Jane and Atlas congratulated me. My friends met my family and the little boy loved the attention, although he’s still a bit upset with Sirius. He was expecting another small gift and when he received nothing, his approval disappeared.
Only until the day of the big party where everyone wore their best clothes, did I realize that it was all over. Next year we won’t return to Hogwarts.
No more jokes in the hallways, late-night meetings with Remus, we no longer have to try to calm Lily before exams. We’ll no longer be able to see the gardens, go to the kitchens. One more minute trying to remember my entire experience in a magic school and I’ll cry.
"Several people are upset because they continue to trip near our table,” says Sirius handing me a glass of punch. “Do you have any idea what it could be? Because, it can't be you. You don't have the cane anymore,” He smiles raising an eyebrow.
“Maybe it's their long dresses. They must watch that,” I smile innocently and he shakes his head.
Oh, boy. Sirius looks like a real star. His long hair is slicked back, his tux fits him perfectly, and that beautiful smile lights up the entire room. Since when did I become such a cheesy girl? I don't know, but I blame him. Him and his perfect face.
"Admiring me again, darling?”
"I can't help it," I say without regret. Why should I?
"You flatter me, but you’re not the only one in front of someone dazzling.”
I laugh out loud.
"Are we really flirting that bad?" He laughs too.
“I don't think we ever tried. It's fun,” He drags his chair closer to me and puts his arm on the back of my chair. "This party is not so bad, is it?”
"I'm sorry I can't dance any longer. I feel like I will sound like an old woman, but my knees can't take it anymore.”
“Don't worry. I like to be here. Only with you,” He kisses my temple. I lean on his shoulder.
The others must be having fun. They laugh, dance and sing to the rhythm of the music. I think this is the first time I've seen Lily and Remus so relaxed. I'm even beginning to doubt if they didn’t get drunk prior the party, but I don’t judge, we are all of legal age.
Sirius and I listen to the music changing from afar to a slow, romantic song. James and Lily don't hesitate to be the first to share it. Some people are still a bit shocked by their official relationship, but I think it doesn't matter at this point. Jenna and Marlene dance near them. They all look so cute, and even Remus got his last dance, although it didn’t last long.
“Percy," Sirius calls after a while. I turn to see him. "Uh, there’s something I should talk to you about.”
"Are you pregnant?”
He laughs. "Not yet.”
"What's going on?”
“I know that after all this, you’ll continue to live with Apollo, but I wanted to ask you something. You don't have to answer me now, not even this week. I just want to give you the idea and you have time to think about it,” He says nervously.
“Okay?" I say confused.
"I wanted to know… Okay, the other day I got to know how much money my uncle Alphard left me and I was thinking about maybe using that money to buy an apartment. Not that is not cool with the Potters or anything. It's just that, I think it would be a good idea.”
"That's great, Sirius.”
Sirius living alone in an apartment, could be fun, watching him solve all the domestic problems alone and stuff.
“Yeah, that's what Euphemia and Fleamont said, even James, but I also thought– Maybe you… Uh, well, do you want to move in with me?”
“What?"
His nerves increase.
“Only if you want, you know. There is no pressure and it's not because we have to do something else, I don't want you to misunderstand things,” He speaks quickly. "I thought it’d be great to be with you and it’s also safer, we would protect each other. As usual.”
"Sirius, I don't know.”
“Think about it, love. I'll see some places with the Potters, everything will be fine no matter what you decide. When you’re ready you can tell me.”
Live with Sirius? Just the two? I'm not going to lie, it sounds good. But I still feel like I'm not physically ready yet and I'd be better off with Jane and Apollo. Just for a while.
But, moving in with my boyfriend. Not in a million years would I have thought of that possibility.
***
I didn't think I would cry on my last day. Right now I have to leave the room that I shared for seven years with Jenna. But what surprises me the most is that I’m not crying about leaving school, but because of the little letter that I found on my pillow.
Dear Persephone,
Despite all the problems we've had, I always considered you a sister. Part of my family, with or without my parents.
Hopefully one day you can forgive me for my past and future actions.
I can only tell you that I will always think of you in any and it is never my intention to hurt you in any way. I hope your life is better than mine. Take care of my older brother and your future together.
Since I met you, I discovered that my family motto is wrong. Family does not always have to be pure.
I will always love you, Persephone.
Do not worry about me. I will take care of you from afar.
Reggie x
I fold the letter, hold it to my chest, and squeeze it against me. In an ideal world, Regulus would be with us celebrating a new era. I’d be holding him so tight that he would complain. In an ideal world, I would protect one of my best friends forever.
***
"And I thought you wouldn't buy any nonsense with the inheritance money," I say crossing my arms.
"What are you talking about, Singh?" James says squealing like a little kid. "This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!”
"Your child is overexciting mine, Persephone,” says Lily to my side.
“It's not like he can help it. He thinks he can do things by himself,” I wince.
"You don’t like it?" Sirius pouts. He is seated on the new bike that he just bought.
"If I thought before that you could kill yourself with a broom, now I think you will kill yourself with that, darling,” I smile sarcastically.
"But do you like it?”
I roll my eyes.
"Yes, Sirius. It's pretty.”
James and Sirius keep talking about… things I don't understand. They both laugh and point to each part.
"I didn't think they would really do it,” Remus says from my left side. Lily and I look at him in surprise.
"You knew?”
“I thought they were joking,” he sighs. “Seven years and I keep falling for this. My bad.”
"Sirius, do you know how we could make this bike even cooler?”
"I hear you.”
"How about we use a little magic?”
"You, my friend. You’re a genious!" Sirius points out.
"This just keeps getting worse," says Lily.
“I don't want to see more. I have therapy,” I say and enter Apollo's house leaving Lily in mom mode with the two children and their new toy.
"Auntie, Phoney!" Atlas greets me from the chair that he shares with his mother, who is preparing some things for my therapy.
"Nephew, Atlas! I just saw you five minutes ago, but it's nice that you continue to get excited when you see me!” I sit next to him and tickle his little head. He laughs, but then he looks behind me. “Remooh." He points it out.
Remus smiles at the little boy and sits in a single chair.
"Don't you want to be with your friends?" I ask teasingly.
“They are very close to drooling on the bike. Atlas behaves better than them.”
"Yes?" The boy asks and we laugh.
"That's right, my love.”
"Ready?" says Jane. Then the torture begins.
At first it was very difficult, I couldn't help screaming, but now it's better. I do my best to relax or at least endure the pain.
"Just a couple more weeks and you'll be better,” reports my sister-in-law. She smiles. “And now, talking about the two children outside. You better get used to it. You’re lucky that Sirius chose a motorcycle. Your brother gets like this every time he gets an old coin. Ever since he knew it was a muggle hobby, he was interested in it. He has a huge collection.”
“No wonder my brother is so weird. Since we were little, he got excited about very boring things all the time…”
“Actually, collecting coins is more interesting than you think,” Remus adds and I look at him with a raised eyebrow. "Ok, I get it.”
"It hurt?" Atlas asks pointing at my leg.
“Not so much anymore.”
"I'll help you,” He leans towards me and with my help he gets up a little and kisses my cheek.
"Thanks, Atlas," I laugh.
"Will you hit me if I say you look nice with a baby?" Remus says with a mischievous smile.
“Hit you? Persephone!” Jane scolds me.
“Don't believe him, Janie. It is an exaggeration.”
“When she had the cane, she tripped me and I told her that if she kept complaining about the pain, no one would want to help her. I still have the bruise.”
"You have such a weak skin,” I pout.
Jane laughs shaking her head.
"But I still think you should have a baby.”
I roll my eyes.
"I already have one and he bought a motorcycle when I wasn't looking at him.”
"Wouldn't you like to have children, Persephone?" asks Jane.
"I don’t know. Maybe. I like children, I just don't know if I want to have one. They’re better when I can return them to their parents,” They both laugh. “What about you, Wolfie?”
"First I need a girlfriend.”
"Oh yeah. I almost forgot!” I roll my eyes. “Answer me.”
“Maybe," Remus replies.
"Well, for now I'll just be the favorite aunt of two children," I kiss Atlas's cheek.
Jane gets up when she finishes healing me.
"Yes, speaking of which…”
"What's going on?”
She smiles nervously.
"You will be an aunt to three babies.”
"What?" I screech.
“They're twins,” She announces.
"You and my brother need another hobby,” I grimace.
"Wow, three children!” Remus says surprised. "And so fast! Percy, can you imagine your children being friends with James and Lily's? It would be total chaos!”
"Oh, don't go to that dark place, Remus. You would be the official babysitter of that chaos,” I joke.
“Oh, no…”

Monday, October 5th, 2020
Greetings, dear reader.
As time goes on, things change and grow. New and interesting things are added to the fray and life takes mysterious turns. These are the changes I track but recently, I feel that many of you have become stagnant. Do you enjoy living dull lives? Following the same routines, seeing the same people? I would hope not. I certainly do not enjoy this - what am I expected to report on? And this is why I challenge you in the next week to try something new. Perhaps you should take up a new hobby. Spend a fun night with friends if you don’t already. Or, take a page from Alastor’s book and kill someone! Really, two weeks without murders? Disgraceful.
We have a few arrivals to celebrate this week, starting off with Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades, who were as confused as all new arrivals are and only had each other to bounce ideas off of. It did not help that they were arguing about where they saw each other last, either. Percy Jackson arrived to the world a little worse for wear, and he was immediately greeted by Celeste Branwell, albeit with some hesitation on her part. Finally, Juleka Couffaine made her arrival and was greeted by Sir Leon of Camelot. Unlike the rest of the new arrivals, however, she took the fact that there were other worlds aside from her own pretty well and was unimpressed by Leon’s description of the world. She will probably have the easiest time out of these four in getting adjusted to this world.
Last week had a lot to do with babies, and so does this one! Regulus Black received a rather odd housewarming gift earlier this week: a baby girl left on his windowsill. Pepper Potts put an end to his confusion by telling him the girl was his to take care of. Not reassured in the least, Regulus took the baby to his cousin Narcissa Black, who helped him pick out the name Lyra Cassiopeia Black. We can only hope, dear reader, that Regulus Black is a better parent than his own were.
However, not all parents are as new to the game as Regulus Black. Arthur and Guinevere Pendragon, despite a small argument with their daughter only made larger by Guinevere’s pregnancy-fueled emotions, are excited to welcome their second child into the world soon and have continued preparing for their baby’s arrival. Although they have started to discuss names, they have not settled on one yet. Speaking of names, not only are the names that we are given are important, but so are the ones we choose. This week saw Ryland Wright ask his adoptive family if he could use the name Harper-Wright, to which Owen and Lucie Harper readily agreed.
If only all families in Worlds’ End were just as happy. Normally I do not cover when people leave the world as there is no fun in saying goodbye, but Alec Lightwood lost both his sister and his fiancé, leaving him to co-parent with Gwaine regarding Xander, Elaina, and Enya Lightwood. They still need to explain what happened to their mother, but for now, let us rejoice in the fact that the triplets are finally getting to go out on their own as they were inseparable in their youth.
That is all for my report this week.
Go on, dear reader, and do not forget to share this with your friends!
Your Editor thanks you.

Meet The Blacks: Part - 3
Sirius stopped and looked down at his brother who flushed a bit. And then Sirius laughed and laughed so loud that his mother had to send Kreacher to 'stop the brat from laughing so loud' .
He lowered his volume as Kreacher apparated out of the room but still kept laughing.
"Shut up Sirius." Regulus mumbled, already embarrassed.
Sirius laughed even more at that and Regulus glared at him. Sirius snorted,"Oh Reggie, sometimes you are worse than James." He chuckled.
Sirius was aware about his brother's attraction towards the youngest Mckinnon. He had been pining for her for months now. Marlene was a Gryffindor in Regulus' year but she had been so close to James and Remus even before Hogwarts that she was more or less an honorary Marauder. So was Oliver Potter, James' cousin and another fourth year Gryffindor.
"Yeah, well Marlene's atleast worth it." Regulus replied like a true Slytherin.
At this, Sirius narrowed his eyes at his brother, all laughter gone. Regulus noticed this too, "I mean Marlene has never rejected me like Evans rejects Potter every other day."
Sirius snorted and went back to styling the younger Black's hair. "And that has nothing to do with the fact that you haven't even told her how you feel about her."
Regulus sighed but didn't say anything. He waited for Sirius to finish and then went to sit on his bed, without any word.
Sirius turned around too and leaned with his back on the dresser to look at his brother. "Reggie" Regulus looked up at him. "What is it?"
Regulus stared at his brother without giving out any expression.
Sirius knew that he was just contemplating how to tell him so he waited for him to open up and after a few moments Regulus did open up.
"She is a good friend, you know? I don't want to loose her. I mean what if she doesn't feel the same for me? She would stop talking to me, won't she? And I don't want that. Even if she doesn't like me the same way, I want to remain her friend. But that won't be possible once I tell her about my feelings because she willl stop speaking to me then."
"She will not stop talking to you, Reg."
"She did, with you."
"Because she needed her time to move on and when she got over her feelings, we started talking again and we are absolutely normal now."
"Yeah, but... I mean.."
Sirius sighed and moved to sit beside his brother. "What is it, really?" He asked looking at Regulus.
Regulus became silent again and looked down at his lap. Then, when Sirius started thinking he wasn't going to get any more answers, Regulus whispered. "What if she hasn't really moved on from you?"
Sirius didn't know what he expected Regulus to say but this was definitely not it. "She doesn't... I mean why would she.."
Marlene had a crush on him at the beginning of last year. She was helping them to research about Animagi and it was around that time that she had developed feelings for him, as far as he knew. But she wasn't really Sirius' type. She believed in forever while Sirius believed in changing girlfriends every month. So when she had told him about her feelings just after his fifteenth birthday, Sirius had very politely refused. He had told her that he was not her type and that she was too good to be with someone like Sirius. Just like any normal girl, Marlene had been hurt...and angry. She had given him a long lecture that he was no one to decide what is good for her and then stormed off crying. They hadn't spoken for months after that. He didn't know about Regulus' feelings earlier, so he had told him everything. He and Marlene had started talking again sometime around Easter.
"She is over me Reg, I know"
"How?"
"I spoke to Remus after you told me how you feel about her and... Remus... well..he knows her you know. They are best friends."
"Hmm. And what about you?" he seemed hesitant now.
"What about me?"
"Do you..." He didn't have to complete for Sirius to understand.
"Of course not, you dolt." He thumped Regulus at the back of his head. "I wouldn't have rejected her if I did."
Regulus chuckled but he seemed relaxed now.
"So are you gonna tell her now or you need more convincing?"
Sirius waited as Regulus thought about it. But just as he was about to say something, they heard a clicking of heels just outside his room and moments later Narcissa Black strolled into his room.
To be continued....

She was already gone when you woke up that morning. Her shampoo scent was still lingering on your pillow. Lying there on the bed with white sheets covering your lower half, you stared at a strand of hair left behind, brown with gold reflecting the sunlight, but you didn’t pick it up.
Things you do know: she’s not coming back. She didn’t exactly say that, but she left a letter on the pillow. A piece of parchment folded in half with your name on it. You remembered the rustling sound beside you, the sound of friction between skin and sheets, the sound of her walking on the wooden floor with bare feet, and the other side of the bed that slowly became cold from midnight or early morning. You were half conscious or half dreaming, immersed in these tiny sounds, in the following silence, and in that little click when the door was closed.
Things you don’t know: she’s not coming back. She put the letter she composed earlier on the pillow. Don’t trust Wormtail. She walked around quietly, putting on her knickers and bra and jeans, and fastened her belt. She picked up your Sex Pistols T-shirt from the floor, put it on, and sniffed at the collar a bit. She stood by the bed looking at you, shoes in one hand and wand in another, so she didn’t have a free hand to reach out to you and brush over your forehead for a moment. She walked out of the room and closed the door with a little click. You didn’t know she apparated to that cave, found a covert corner, disillusioned herself, sat down on a cold rock, and waited for Regulus Black.
Things you do know: you buried your fingers in her hair and forced her to face up to you the night before. Her expression was the same one she always got, like she could see the ending with just a glimpse. What do you want? What the fuck do you want? you asked, just like hundreds of times before you asked how do you know that? What’re you laughing about? Where’re you from? Questions without answers. Questions that have a start but never an end. Her hair tangled around your fingers with such strength that it could draw blood. What do you want? What the fuck do you want? She was staring at you. Love me, she said, I want you to love me, but I don’t have time anymore.
You silenced her with a searing kiss. Shut up, woman. You’ve never said one pleasing sentence since I met you. She smiled on your lips. News flash, we’re at war here. The moment you’re pleased, you’re dead.
Things you don’t know: she was panting when she stuffed the Time Turner into her purse. She looked at the magic photos on the corridor walls in the safe house: the young Weasleys dancing at their wedding; the Prewett brothers making faces; Moody with a wooden leg but still with two normal eyes devouring Firewhisky and laughing. There’s a group photo of the Order on the wall. James was standing beside you. He’s just a teenager with high spirits and messy hair. Her fingers went from James' eyes of wrong colour, Lily’s fire-like hair, to Remus’ scars on his face, and stopped at the lifting corner of your mouth. She closed her eyes, imagining those moving scenes a long time ago or a long time later. Harry said he saw his parents in that mirror. Percy was shaking his brother, and Ron was kneeling beside them, and Fred’s eyes stared without seeing, the ghost of his last laugh still etched upon his face. She raised her wand and whispered Obliviate. Looking directly at his father, Bill said, "Mad-Eye’s dead.” You sank backwards through the ragged veil hanging from the arch.
She made her choice at that moment.
Things you do know: it only takes one moment to make a choice. The 11-year-old you sat in front of the whole school with the Sorting Hat saying in your head, “Ahhhh, another Black.” You knew it only took one moment to make a choice. Many people stood at the crossroad of life hesitating between left or right, but you never paused. You always knew what’s right and what’s easy and they’re always the same for you. It only took one moment to choose Gryffindor. It only took one moment to be Remus Lupin’s friend. It only took one moment to decide to be am Animagus. It only took one moment to join the Order. You dealt with all your life choices with the speed of light until you met her, the girl who appeared in the Order meeting out of nowhere, 18 or 19 years old, thin, with messy long hair and a pair of eyes that pierced you at the first sight. You wrenched her wand away, twisted her arms behind her, and pressed her whole body to the wall. This was your favorite way to disarm someone. Your every sense suddenly turned to highly sensitive mode near her. You can feel her slender arms and her body struggling with alarming strength and conflicting submissiveness simultaneously. Her hair has some kind of flower scent that you couldn’t for the life of you distinguish. You heard her pained panting and whispering, “Sirius…” You turned your head to Dumbledore for orders, but your attention was on her biting her lower lip.
Things you don’t know: predicaments with only one way out were her favourite. She liked to have no way but forward. She didn’t like to hold a malfunctioning Time Turner in her hands with never-ending past and future except home stretching in front of her. She didn’t like to repeat a war. She didn’t like to participate in Order missions, because sometimes she saved someone who died last time but lost someone who would live otherwise at the same time. She didn’t like to toss and turn at midnight, get up to get a cuppa, and see Harry’s father and mother having sex in the kitchen, expediting the process of making Harry to face the unknown annihilation. She didn’t like to meet you, who always looked at her with vigilance, talked to her to probe, and jumped up to contradict her whenever you were discussing strategies. She didn’t like to have her buried fantasy and attraction and love and heartbreak unearthed and slapped in her face by destiny, since she didn’t know how to face this huge irony at all. She didn’t like to become friends with everyone so that she again acquired a whole new bunch of families who would be crushed by the war without making a sound. She hated to have all the choices in the world, yet every one of them was a time bomb with different explosive yield.
Things you do know: the Order found the evidence to convict Peter of being a traitor that day. You punched through a door. Regulus was taken to you by a Portkey with unknown sources. Your brother came back to you with a piece of Voldemort’s soul when you thought you’d lost him forever. He was wet and exhausted, sitting on the floor. You kneeled down to give him a hug. You wanted to ask what happened, but for once in your life, you didn’t have the courage.
You'll never meet her again. END

Hyde Park Meetings
Sirius’ POV:
The worst part of my whole year had always been the summer holidays. I was forced to spend six weeks in my very own Hell on earth. However I had my own way to escape the confines of this wretched place, whilst Regulus was distracted and secluding himself in his room and Walburga and Orion were doing whatever they did downstairs I would open up my bedroom window and scale down the gutter before quickly making a break for it over the fence. No body ever came up to my room whilst I was at home, to be honest I think they just pretend I don’t exist (not that that bothers me in the slightest). Now that I was out of that miserable place I could finally clear my head and enjoy my surroundings, I would walk around London and waltz into random muggle shops spending some muggle money I had hidden from those dictators. Most of the time I wasn’t really paying attention to where I was going, I heard cars driving around, their horns beeping every so often. The iconic red phone boxes dotted around lining the streets. I soon approached the large green space lined with trees, Hyde Park. Walking along the paths my eyes drifted to the tall trees, watching carefully as the birds flew from tree to tree and the squirrels leapt across. Not watching where I was going at all, I felt someone collide with me, shocked I grabbed forward to prevent the person from falling. When I looked at the person in front of me I saw the pink, blushing face of a girl around my age who had clearly also been in a world of their own. Flustered, she glanced up and apologised profusely. I was starting to feel my cheeks warm, wait what?! I don’t get nervous or flustered, I’m Sirius Black that’s how I make others feel!! “Oh, uh don’t worry about it, it was most likely my fault anyway,” I told her with a small chuckle, my hand went up behind my neck rubbing it nervously. “Oh, no really it was most likely mine, I was off in my own world as per usual thinking about all kinds of things,” she giggled sweetly. “What sort of things?” I asked curiously, subconsciously wanting to maintain conversation with this girl. “ Pretty much the usual stuff for me: mythical lands, supernatural creatures and big, old wizards. I read a lot,” she laughed again, a gorgeous smile spreading across her face. “Haha, one of my best friends is just like that. You wouldn’t happen to be day dreaming about the delightful worlds of J.R.R Tolkien would you?” I asked, knowing Remus Lupin definitely had its uses. “Why yes!” And after that we both just completely forgot about what we were previously doing and just sat at the bench to the side of the path and talked for ages. I learned that she had similar taste in music to me and loved escaping to fantasy realms through books, I found myself thinking how she would react to find out how real a lot of it all was true. Her melodic voice floated through the air as she talked about the different things she loved and she had a warm smile as I spoke, an adorable laugh when I made a joke and even a look of understanding when I mentioned irritating things.
We spent so much time talking I didn’t notice the sky had darkened and night was closing in. I glanced down at my watch and saw it was eight o'clock. "Oh Merlin!“ I mumbled, "um, it’s getting late and I don’t want to keep you out here to get cold so uh… let me walk you home?” I asked timidly, “yeah sure! I’d love that!” She smiled sweetly as she stood up, we walked through the park and out into the open streets of London. A comfortable silence surrounded us for a while as we walked, I was about to ask her about meeting up again when she said, “well this is me,” with a shy smile. I smiled back down at her but the disappointment behind the smile was evident. She bit down on her bottom lip slightly before asking, “um, would you like to meet up tomorrow maybe?” without a moment of hesitation I enthusiastically replied "yes, definitely!“ she laughed sweetly before waving goodbye and walking into her house.
I was in a state of complete ecstasy wandering through the streets back to Grimmauld Place. My mind refused to focus on anything but the girl I had just met. Y/N, even her name dripped with beauty. Carelessly I climbed back up the gutter and flopped onto my bed, staring at the ceiling above me, trying to comprehend what had just happened.
I continued to meet with Y/N over the holidays, she made staying at home a lot more bearable. We met in various places like muggle cafes and record shops. I couldn’t possibly explain the way I felt about Y/N. I returned one night climbing through my window as I usually did but this was different. My normally empty room now had two other people inside, those people were my parents. "What do you think you are doing Sirius?” Walburga asked with a hiss. “ I fail to see how anything I do is of your concern.” I replied shortly, "don’t be so rude boy, your actions reflect the Black family so spit it out before I have to make you,“ Orion sneered. "Oh please,” I spat, “ I couldn't give a damn about your perfect reputation, all I was doing was walking around London. Happy?” Their faces remained harsh and looked like they definitely didn’t take this as the truth. “ Hardly, we know for a fact you’ve been seen walking around everyday with a girl, and our sources tell us she’s a muggle of all things! I mean really Sirius how could you do something like this?!” I felt as though I was going to explode, I felt intense anger as I learned that my cover had been blown but even more so by her condescending tone. She always talked about muggles as if they were inferior to wizards and witches and I thought I had grown used to it but as soon as I heard that tone talk about Y/N all the things I had heard over the years about muggles from my family and the things they could do to them came flooding into my mind. Anger was meshed with worry which was ultimately swallowed by fear, I couldn’t let anything happen to her. “ Her being a muggle has nothing to do with anything,” I whispered harshly through gritted teeth. “ I will have you know it’s a very important factor here boy,” Orion spat venomously, “ I am not going to have you fraternising with their sort, as much as we both try to deny it you’re a Black, you have Black blood coursing through your veins!” he continued to rant, his voice steadily increasing. “Just because my body holds Black blood does not mean I’ll be maintaining your twisted views!” I spoke, remaining as calm as possible. “We are simply aiming for what is best for our kind, they’re not the same as us and that goes for your useless little pet,” as soon as the words left his mouth I lost control of my actions and before I could think I shouted, “Hey! Say what you will about me but don’t you EVER say anything about her! You know nothing about her,” hatred dripped from my tone along with the instantly recognisable protectiveness in my tone and stance. “ I will say what I want boy! Now if you want your precious muggle to stay safe I suggest you stay away from it!” Without time for a response Orion and Walburga left the room slamming the door behind them. I collapsed back onto my bed and let out a deep sigh. Different thoughts spiralled through my head like what would they do to her? One thing was for certain though: I needed to get out of here. Quickly, I sped around my room filling a bag with an extension charm on it with all my belongings, including my school supplies, once my room was pretty bare I climbed out the window for the last time.
I wandered down the streets one more time before I ultimately went to seek refuge at the Potters’. I didn’t really know where I was going but I found my way to her street, I was stood outside Y/N's house. It felt wrong leaving her behind like this, she didn’t know what was happening or anything about the world I came from and that was how I wanted it to stay. This was best for her, right? I glanced up to an illuminated window and saw her, she was drawing her curtains. My heart ached, how could this much pain be felt for one girl. With a heavy heart I turned and walked away, I stopped at the corner of her street and waited. Soon enough the big, purple bus sped around the corner and came to an abrupt stop. I climbed on the knight bus and in a flash London was behind me, my parents were gone, she was gone.
5 years later…
London, the place I hated most in this world but happens to be the heart of the magical community for the United Kingdom. I had just been in Diagon Alley for a new wand because Harry had gotten a little handsy with my old one when for some reason I felt the urge to go for a walk around London, like I used to. Before I noticed what was happening I was walking through Hyde park and memories I had tried to forget came flooding back. I looked up at the trees and sun peeking through the leaves as I reminisced about those times which now seemed so long ago. Abruptly, I felt my body come into contact with something. Looking down I saw it was a woman and started apologising profusely, as did she. Her voice was suddenly so recognisable, as if I had heard it before. It clicked in my mind all of a sudden but it couldn't be… could it? As she rambled on about her being clumsy I stood there in silence until I gently tilted her head up with my fingers under her chin. As our eyes met I knew it was her, “Y/N?” “Sirius?” We both whispered in disbelief. We stood in silence for a few moments before I felt her hand come harshly in contact with my chest. “ Where the heck did you go Sirius?” She asked angrily, her anger was understandable but the pained look on her face made me feel even more guilty. “Y/N, I have a very good reason for leaving out of the blue like I did, all I ask is for you patience, time and for you to be completely open minded about this.” I pleaded. She was quiet for a while as she seemed to contemplate my request but eventually she agreed and I lead he over to a bench and we sat down. I started from the very beginning, how I grew up with my family, Hogwarts and the magical community, my friends and ultimately the night I left and what my parents had said. She looked shocked to say the least but as promised she listened and didn’t interrupt or get up to leave at any point. Once I was finished I sat there and waited for a response from her. Soon the space around us was filled with her melodic laughter, I was very confused by this reaction. “So you’re a wizard?” She asked in a whisper, to which I simply nodded. She cupped her hands over her face and giggled in amazement. “So you believe me?” I asked in disbelief, she simply sighed and put a hand on my shoulder and said, “I don’t think you have the imagination to think all that up Sirius," we both laughed and I swatted her hand away saying ‘oh shush’. This girl was completely amazing, she completely understood where I was coming from and didn’t focus on any of that and simply questioned me about the exciting parts of where I came from. We talked for hours just like we did five years ago only this time about the magic in the world and about what we’d done over the last five years of our lives. Nervously I asked, "so do you have a special person in your life right now?” she looked over at me and smirked, “there can be if he’ll just ask,” I looked down to the floor laughing, I looked back up into her eyes and asked, “Miss L/N would you like to join me on a date?” to which she replied, “Of course Mr Black.”
