I love the "Hob taking care of Dream" motive, but what about the canonical "Dream having a soft spot for one stupid human"? Them being weird together, talking about things that nobody understands? Dream just being happy he has someone who doesn't care (know) about his status and powers? Hob being bloody stupid, reckless and making tons of mistakes because that's who he is? And Dream not caring about that? Because that is his friend? What about that?

Yes I know J.K Rowling is transphobic, yes I know that looking back Harry Potter wasn't as good as we thought it was at the time, but that just makes reading fics of Harry Potter by actual good writers on ao3 all the sweeter.

Plus idk ever since the transphobia news came out and people started critiquing Harry Potter, I've kinda just been burying myself in analysis videos of the series and it's been making me crave fanfiction.

They meet and fall in love over time. Bruce is being an idiot in love and take forever to come to terms with his feelings and when they finally are together Clark dies.

Bruce tries to live through it but after a couple of months he can't anymore.

Clark comes back from the dead and goes to Bruce first only to find out he died a few days/ weeks before.

Clark then dies again because he counts bare be without Bruce.
