i cant get over the whole time in the real world rick just sat there watching over morty and when he woke up finally rick sounded SO happy the way he just yelled his name excitedly the second he woke up,,,

#i miss them already….#AND ALSO AT THE END. MORTY WAS KIND OF IN A WAY WHAT STOPPED RICK FROM JUMPING INTO THE HOLE TO SEE DIANE.#you saw him like look sad for a second that he wouldn’t get to see her but then his expression changed to a firm one when he decided he was #-going to put mortys picture on the wall and then his little smile after he did… morty isn’t dianes replacement hes even better than that #THATS HOW I SEE IT THOUGH. one of the biggest appeals of r&m to me is just how they are eachothers absolute favourite and they outweigh-#-everything the others ever known. i think this episode really showed that alot.#despite everything he’s seen and experienced mortys biggest fear is rick not caring about him #and like. that’s funny bc that’s a thing where everybody knows for a fact that’s literally impossible #the biggest contributor for why SO many things in the show have happened is rick loves morty more than anything #also that one part in the whole sequence with them growing up where it showed r&m drinking togehter that made me so happy bc like #it was one of those moments where i was like. I advise looking up 'Make Some Noise' on #yt and watching the full episodes/compilations available for free there #He is in a youtube video with Smosh cast in an improv format they do called 'Try Not To Laugh'. Smosh cast folks are also very funny- a good #proportion of them at this point are also prifessional comedians. There are other Try Not To Laugh videos. a LOT of them. they can be #hit or miss but a lot of them are quite good (blind pairs or the musical episodes are all pretty good)#Smosh has multiple channels- this one is called Smosh Pit ajd also has other stuff they do. Challenge Pit is also quite funny. there is also #smosh games channel. smosh cast channel. and the main smosh channel #tbh i recommend looking up compilations of cast members to figure out what content you might find compelling but they make a pretty broad #spread of stuff at this point so odds are decent youll find something funny. esp if you already watch dropout :)#ok infodump over. glad ppl are having fun with this lol

See now the most compelling thing about Skuttlespring (Gorgug/Mary Ann) is that Zac Oyama the human guy reacts to the “Okay. Do you have a girlfriend?” scene like he’s an actual 17-year-old boy who just got asked out by the girl he’s been fighting tooth and nail to hate for an entire school year in front of his five best friends. That man is FLUSTERED and EMBARRASSED he is selling Gorgug’s sudden onset hate-crush in the midst of a completely unrelated situationship like his life depends on it and all the other Intrepid Heroes are equally in-character it’s so perfect. That is a 30-something year old man who has a whole entire wife but he’s out here stuttering and blushing like a teenager and THAT is why I will absolutely ship these two characters that have interacted two and a half times in canon and were either completely apathetic about or cartoonishly enraged by the other’s general existence for the entire season

The saddest part of Venom: The Last Dance was Venom knew it was his last dance. He knew one of them would have to die and that it would never be Eddie on his watch, so he did what he could. He stalled until he couldn't anymore and while he stalled he took Eddie on the adventure of a lifetime. He danced with Mrs. Chen, went on a road trip and was able to be the hero of the story. He knew he was going to die but by god if he wasn't going to live a little first. They were the Lethal Protector, and, in the end, Venom got to protect the human and planet he loved so very much.

I do think Blazing Saddles handled its one depiction of native americans very poorly, and the full extent of its representation of chinese workers on the railroad is they were literally just there. not even one single speaking line. unclear if this is worse or better than the redface.

it's fucking phenomenal at lampooning antiblack racism though. extremely blatant, extremely funny satire, which is constantly and loudly saying "racism is the philosophy of the terminally stupid at best and morally depraved at worst, and we should all be pointing and laughing at them 24/7"

plus the main character is a heroic black man who has to navigate a whole lot of bullshit but is constantly smirking at the extraordinarily stupid racists and inviting the audience into the joke. the one heroic white character is a guy who was suicidally depressed until he met the protagonist and they just instantly became buds, and he's firmly in a supporting role the whole time and happy to be there. the protagonist saves the day with the help of his black friends from the railroad, and uses the position of power he was given to uplift not only those friends, but all the railroad workers of other minorities too, in an explicit show of solidarity.

anyone saying "Blazing Saddles is racist" had better be talking about its treatment of non-black minorities. it had better not be such superficial takes as "oh but they say the n-word all the time" or "they have nazis and the kkk in there!" because goddamn if that's the full extent of your critique I very seriously suggest you read up on media analysis. there is too much going over your head, you need to learn to recognize satire.

#blazing saddles #finx watches tv #finx rambles #I recognize that I'm saying all this as someone who's not black #but I am also saying it as someone with a basic understanding of race relations in the usa #and a basic understanding of sarcasm #bc it really does not take more than that to recognize what they're doing in this movie #it is NOT subtle #and it is very funny #mel brooks movies are kinda hit or miss for me ngl #men in tights is great if a bit too crass for my taste #spaceballs has great jokes but the central story lacks any real heart so it doesn't grab me #history of the world was just kind of unpleasant and then I switched it off #but blazing saddles? phenomenal #I could not stop laughing the whole way through #and the central story DOES have heart bc it's the friendship between bart and #whassisname #jim #the Kid #plus bart working out how to succeed at an impossible task #also frankly cleavon little just grounds the comedy really well even before gene wilder shows up and we get their chemistry #bc he's cool calm collected and constantly inviting the audience into the joke #but the character's not too cool to ever mess up or ever be silly #he makes bad choices and gets into bad situations and then has to get himself out of them #but it's.....oh wait duh there's a term for this already #he's the straight man #he grounds all the zany nonsense by being in strong contrast to it #and he does a great job of it!#anyway #point is I deeply enjoyed this movie and I'm glad I finally watched it
