A/N: I have not written anything in two/three years, aside from academic papers. Also, I'm not religious, but this still felt a tiny bit wrong.

Spencer Reid did not believe in God. He was a man of science, of course. He had seen too many horrors of the world for him to believe that there was someone out there who knew it was happening, and did nothing. Not to mention that religion wasn’t exactly a topic of his childhood. Who would even answer his questions? Not his mother, and surely not his father. This doesn’t mean he hasn’t read the Bible, of course he has. He just doesn’t see it as factual. As stated, he’s a man of science. He didn’t believe in religion.

Then he saw you.

There was something about you that made him question. When Spencer first saw you in the bullpen, he couldn’t look away. The way your hair cascaded down your shoulders. The way the light hits your eyes. The way you carried yourself with such certainty. He’d never had any want or need to get on his knees and pray, but he’d do it if you asked him. He’s quite positive he’d do anything if you asked him to in your cherry sweet voice.

Spencer has stepped foot in churches before, but never before for a Sunday mass. It was often when it related to a case, which also meant that you frequently entered beside him. The sun would cast through the stained-glass windows and light you up in a plethora of colors. Spencer knew he talked a lot. He knew that people often wished he’d just shut the hell up. When he looked at you, he was often speechless. His mind was still racing, but he would be too tongue-tied to spit out what he wanted. 

He didn’t need to. Something in your eyes told him that you knew. The kind of high you gave him was something uncomparable to the previous highs he’s known. And you were not something he could possibly build a tolerance to.

When he first kissed you he was positive he had learned what Heaven was. He could’ve died happy with his lips pressed to yours. With his tongue dancing in your mouth. He couldn’t get the taste of you off his mind, not that he’d ever want to. He knew then, his soul wouldn’t settle until he had tasted all of you. He was so greedy for a taste of you. It’s a good thing he didn’t believe in Hell, he knew his greed would’ve landed him a firm place down there. 

Between your thighs his mind was silent. There was nothing more to think about than your taste and the way you cried. Your fingers in his hair, your thighs squeezing his head, the way you gasped and fucking whimpered when you were close. This was all he needed in life. This was all he needed from life. He didn’t need a church when he could fall to his knees and pray and worship all the same.

He wouldn’t need another altar, there was a perfect one nestled between your plush thighs. That thought alone would definitely land him in Hell, but he couldn’t bring himself to give a damn with his tongue buried in your cunt. His nose rubbed against your clit, his breath fogged his glasses that he hadn’t cared to remove. Why would he? Without them he can’t look up and see your heavenly face.

I appreciate the thought process in constructing this, but I fundamentally disagree with the conclusions, both In & Out of Universe. As far as I see it:

In both the main universe & the AU, Jayce is the one judged responsible for the magical explosion, given the gems were his illegal creations. However, he dies in the blast (presumably along with Caitlyn), so he never gets to meet Viktor - which also means that Viktor likely dies shortly after, given there's no Hexcore/Shimmer to sustain him. Evil Cosmic Horror God Viktor either doesn't need to remember, or doesn't even look at, the universes where he dies before the anomaly comes into existence.

Grayson, being a more pragmatic Sheriff than Marcus would have arrested the kids not for the explosion, but for the Breaking & Entering. They didn't leave with anything, so even charging them with burgulary is a bit of a big ask. Given that their ringleader died in the process of the crime, the remaining kids likely get little more than a caution - especially with Vander's deal with Grayson; they'd probably negotiate some kind of resolution that day, instead of the protracted mess that happens in the main universe. Part of the reason things play out so badly in the main universe is the effort to hide what happened & who was involved - that manhunt never happens in the AU because the kids never flee the scene.

There's no guarantee that Vander & Silco's reconciliation happens as a result of the blast - could have happened at any point between Vander's attempted murder and shortly before the "present". It's not unreasonable to think that the cycle could have been broken at any point, the lack of shimmer production in the AU suggests Silco never turned to that as a means for power/revenge. However, if it is as a result of the blast, Vander's grief makes him seek out that old connection, and it's not ridiculous that Silco would be more accepting of a clearly regretful, humbled Vander, especially if they both can forgive the original grievances. The fact that Vi & Powder are the only legacy left of Felicia, and one of those is now gone, the two likely bond over her memory, and that helps rebuild the bridges.

As for Powder, yes, she carries a lot of guilt for Vi's death, but she didn't have the experience of her worst fears being validated (Vi calling her a Jinx - hell, Milo only calls it her in the show as a result of her losing the stolen goods; that doesn't happen in the AU) and believing she was being abandoned before being raised by a man who didn't understand how (or want) to help her heal from her trauma. I'm sure Powder blames herself, and still has work to do to address/recover from her trauma, and yes, her underlying mental illness maybe still be there, but everyone in her life is much more supportive and would be able to help her heal as much as possible.

Powder never lashes out at the council, because there's: 1) No loss of support network for resolving her trauma 2) No rising escalation between Enforcers & The Lanes 3) Reconciliation between Silco & Vander 4) No Hextech for her to even weaponise 5) No paternal figure encouraging her to lash out at the council in response for his death

Also, Caitlyn is also presumed to have died in that explosion too, in which case, Cassandra Kirraman might have even been forced to step down from the council (Jayce was sponsored by her, there'd be some social consequence there). So Cassandra might not even have died even if Powder were to attack the council.

No Hextech means Ambessa looks somewhere else for a weapon to wield against the Black Rose, so she doesn't ever engineer the circumstances to push Piltover to declare Martial Law, so no Dictator Salo/Cait (even if she's not dead). No Dictator means no strike team, and no genocide.

So no, everybody would not die, and not just because of "The power of love and friendship", though Powder having a life full of those things (rather than basically devoid of them) would make a big difference to her wellbeing & development/behavours.

It's not the writers forgetting things, it's them reassessing a lot of the instigating events of the series and looking at what happens if they play out differently. There might be even more opportunities for things to play out differently that you could spot if you went back through Season 1 Episodes 1-3 in more detail!

The writing in the AU episode is so weird.

Enforcers don’t care about arresting children and innocents. So in the AU Timebomb episode, am i suppost to believe that Powder blew up a rich guy's house and they...let her go?

Piltover has killed a bunch of children, they are not going to care about this two kids who were stealing things from them.

Jayce would be arrested for tempering with magic, regardelss of Vi dying or not, he would meet Viktor and he would convince Jayce to make hextech. He would become obsessed with viktor and fuse him with the hextech.

Evil cosmic horror god Viktor told us that! He said "IN EVERY REALITY HE LOOKED".

Guess the writers just forgot about that detail.

- Powder would definitely be arrested and she would have gone crazy with grief and guilt.

- Vander and Silco would not become besties 4ever after a murder attempt.

- Silco would still go after power and revenge.

-And Powder would hate Piltover for killing her sister and for the arrest.

Powder would probably hate Jayce and try to kill the council. Caitlyn's mom would die and Caitlyn would become a shitty dictator and commit genocide. Because she has a massive ego and has to make everything about her and make everybody suffer just because she is sad.

And without Vi around, guess she would never get her weak ass "redemption arc".

Everybody would die.

But i guess everything just got better with the power of love and friendship!

Okay my crack theory for Lucy’s god situation:

What if instead of dying Lucy’s god became an archfey and fucked off, forsaking all of their followers. I could see that as justifiable for a minor god—maybe you don’t want your personality and existence to be dependent on a group of people small enough for a really big hurricane to wipe them out. Maybe you want to try your hand at self actualization, which you can’t really do as a god. Whatever.

But that would still mean Lucy’s grades would be screwed for the year, and the whole group would be switched to pass/fail.

Whatever god they’re trying to bring back seems like they want to stay a god, but would also only have a single living cleric so their nature would be heavily influenced by who that cleric is, and could still be controlled. Bringing back an established dead god with living followers probably reduces the risk of the god immediately dying or completely sucking ass/not being powerful like what happened with YES!(?), and we know the Ratgrinders LOVE minimizing risk. And choosing a dead god that represents something Lucy is actually passionate about preaching and proselytizing would make her work as a cleric much easier for her emotionally than, say, switching to Helio and just going through the motions, and bringing back a god would probably look good on college resumes.

Idk, that’s just an alternative theory to Lucy’s god dying based on what’s been established this season.

Been meaning to add my 2 cents to this (I have not had the time/brain capacity without combusting into madness to create my own, incredibly lengthy akayona ch 266 analysis, so here we are)

Okay. I definitely feel like this is supposed to be Ouryuu's redemption arc of sorts, but there are quite a few things that need to be acknowledged before it can happen because even if Ouryuu's help is a game-changer and is the dragon warrior's and Yona's saving grace, it does not change the fact that Zeno has every right to be angry with him.

Now, I agree that it's completely plausible that Ouryuu doesn't have the power to alter other's lifespans, so I understand why he might not have done anything here. However, the emotions that create the turmoil for Zeno in this moment are much more than simply grief. It's loss, fear, loneliness, abandonment, desperation, and a million other little things that have built up and continue to build up over the next two thousand years. Maybe Ouryuu might not have been able to prevent the grief or loss (human emotions are complex, and Kaya would have died eventually), but imagine the difference it would have made for Zeno to have him appear, if not to encourage or verbally comfort him, than just to simply offer a presence. An immortal presence. The argument can be made that Zeno might not want anything to do with the dragon god since he can't do anything and because he is the one who doomed him to this fate, but I'm sure that at some point or another, he would have appreciated the sentiment.

Then there's also the question of why Ouryuu chose immortality in the first place. The other three dragon's choices were much, much different, so what drove or inspired Ouryuu to choose such a heavy ability? Did he intend Zeno to be a guide for the future generations? Did he want to make his fragment the most powerful? Did he want a fragment that would serve Hiryuu the way Zeno does, with expertise, wisdom, and no bias from various political standpoints? Did he look that far ahead, assume that when Hiryuu returned he would be king again, and intend to plan for it?? Or, the more intriguing, sort of unlikely, but really fun question:

Did he get to choose his fragment's abilities at all? Maybe it wasn't his decision to make. Who knows?

Anyways, that's a whole other can of worms and I want to stay on topic here lol.

Personally, I think there's no excuse for Ouryuu to have not shown up at least once for Zeno, but there might also be an explanation behind it. Pride. To explain, I was watching a review on one of the chapters the other day, and the guy who was reviewing it (griever's review on 265, for reference) mentioned the fact that the crimson dragon is different from the others (kind, merciful, understanding) because he lived as a human. The white, blue, and green dragon gods have not lived, died, or suffered as humans. They don't know what it's like to work hard, to lose, to gain, to love, to grieve, because they're gods. They have the power to do and get whatever they want, and it ties into the reason why they act like selfish, spoiled, self-centered brats. It's because they are! They are cruel to Zeno and their own fragments, and ignore Yona's wishes because, to them, none of it matters because they're gods and they should get what they want. It also explains their hissy fits to the whole "Hiryuu remaining a human and refusing to obey their wishes" ordeal. Now with this in mind, consider Ouryuu two thousand years ago, just as selfish and inhumane as his dragon god brothers, and add his fragment into the mix.

If he truly was by Zeno's side all that time, there's a good chance he picked up a thing or two about humanity as well. Perhaps the experience softened his heart over the years (since he has one, apparently) and he finally started to see where Hiryuu was coming from. It's likely that this transition began or was just set into motion after the og dragon's and Kaya's deaths, when he was still too prideful to care. Or maybe the mindset change had already happened, and at that point, he was far too ashamed to show himself.

Not an excuse. Not condoning it, but I'm trying to understand the development here. And even if this all somehow aligns, isn't this still the same Ouryuu that technically allowed Zeno to fall into the sea of blood and be tossed around and tormented by his own dragon god brothers? The one who offered no explanation and just "Your life has not yet reached its end yet" and shoved Zeno back into life after reciting the prophecy to him when he tried to take his own life with the sword? Now with the last, "reciting the prophecy in Zeno's face" bit, I get the circumstances are different (Yona wasn't in the chalice/in danger yet) but it was still rather harsh. And hypocritical, considering the way he recites the prophecy again in 266, this time in Zeno's favor.

I want Ouryuu to be good. I'm incredibly grateful that he swooped in and saved the dragons and Zeno and Jae-Ha's leg. I'm glad he's taking them to Yona and making things right, but why???

Not that I'm complaining as long as everyone gets to eventually be safe and sound, but I'd like to understand Ouryuu's motives. Zeno might see this as an attempt to atone, but he still has the right to be bitter with the dragon god. Ouryuu's redemption does not justify his past actions and idk... he's weird.

All in all I just wish he'd have given Kaya more time. Or better yet, given Zeno an immortal partner support system thing lol.

I'm perfectly content with plot holes as long as everyone ends up safe and happy, but that doesn't mean I won't try to fill them! Take that as you will. I'm just here. Hoping to get my found family back <3

the 2001 planet of the apes is so good to me. like, the 1968 version will always have a special place in my heart because the makeup magic was... dare i say... very magical, but i liked how the 2001 one leaned into a more biologically accurate angle. like, those are straight up apes. no wonder humans aren’t speaking as a survival tactic, those things could hurt you without even trying. again, the 1968 one was so good and impressive but the fact that taylor could overpower the actors that were playing gorillas was a little jarring lol. which makes sense, cos so much of his escape plan relied on him being strong enough to push people out of the way.

this isn't a complaint btw! they're just people in costumes---they are still very much giving ape, but there wasn't much they could do about that on a physical level. so, when the 2001 had these big hulking gorillas and more accurate looking chimpanzee faces on the screen, i appreciated that detail about the humans exploiting their fear of the water. it leveled the playing field without making the fight against the apes look like a losing battle
