I love hearing ideas on how the Pevensies need to readjust to Earth when they get back from Narnia the first time, but what about them having to get used to living in Narnia when they become kings and queens?
The children having to discover how to lead an entire country.
The Pevensies having to learn how to ride horses because they grew up in the city.
Peter and Lucy taking to it pretty easily but Edmund and Susan having a bit more difficulty at first.
The talking horses trying to give pointers but Edmund ending up falling off multiple times anyways.
On a cold winter's day, Lucy coming into Cair Paravel chilled and wet after having a snowball fight and wishing nothing more than for a hot bath only to discover the amount of time and labour needed to warm a tub of water without electricity.
No toilets. Just, no toilets.
Susan trying to write a letter to Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and getting frustrated because her quill pen keeps tearing the paper and blotting.
Peter accidentally knocking down a candle while looking through papers and nearly setting the whole table ablaze.
The Pevensies slipping occasionally when it comes to mentioning things about Earth to the facination of the Narnians.
Edmund trying to explain Earth being round to a group of curious yet politely confused creatures and eventually giving up when a young faun asks if everything is upside-down on the other side of the world.

Tfw you look at your friend for confirmation that the situation developing immediately in front of you is just as strange as you think it is
I had a lot of fun making this simple gif, and I'm honestly very happy with how it turned out :> I wouldn't be surprised if Donald and Cricket reacted this way at some point! Donald belongs to @kbthebearcat

My poor niece got so upset this weekend because someone saw her outside her sister’s play and told her she did a good job.
Like, I get it. Having a unique identity is important and she’s 9, these things get frustrating fast. But also she is an identical twin and her parents did them dirty with matchey-matchey names. They are both going to deal with this for a long time. One is either going to have to come up with a nickname they like or realize that their father mixes me and their mother up because our names both start with L. Human brains are like that sometimes.
I showed her how my brother and I have the exact same smile and then point out some ways she looks like her brother and that seemed to help. But I think we are entering a new tantrum phase that’s going to be all about identity. I can’t wait until they’re old enough to work this out with a therapist.

Moon 147-Greenleaf
Creekkit (1) and Songkit (1) have remained undiscovered.  For now.  It’s pretty easy to pass Songkit off as powerless, considering his low power-level.  Gladepatch (23) just has to keep reminding him not to drain the plants around him. And if he does, Gladepatch can help regrow them.  Creekkit is. . .a little bit harder to deal with.  Besides her naturally troublesome personality (putting thorns in Wildcave’s-30- bedding, seriously?), she is quite powerful.  Gladepatch has managed to convince the Clan that she’s fire-blessed, as that seems to be her favorite magic to use, but it’s hard for her to keep the others under wraps.  She doesn’t understand why she should have to hide.  Why can’t the Clan just accept her as she and her brother are?  To explain why he’s been spending so much time with the kits (and because he wants to) Gladepatch has decided to adopt the two of them.  Maybe he can keep them safe.  Chasingskip (59) has also been hanging out in the nursery quite a bit, as she misses being in the nursery and caring for kits, now that hers are grown up.  So, she surprises Creekkit with a nicely made mossball to play with. In other Clan news, Peakspots (116) has decided to retire from deputy.  He’s been feeling quite worn down lately.  The young Wildcave takes his place.  He has the drive and the power to do well in the position.   Conegoat (30) and Gladepatch are on much better terms after finding the kits together.  And Steppemimic (30) even seems to be getting along with Gladepatch pretty well.  It feels like he’s finally found his place in the healer's den.

Transference was wonderful and emotional, but also heartbreaking and rude, how dare you! How did you feel getting to add to Narvin's family, and how did you decide what their relation to him should be?
ASK ME QUESTIONS ABOUT TRANSFERENCE SPOILERS BELOW!!
Hi hi! Thank you so so much! I'm really so glad you enjoyed it. :) As for your question, Lenaris and Helico became cousins because I had read the brief regarding Cresta being introduced to the War Room and it started the brain worms whilst working on what I wanted to do with the episode:
We don't know a lot about Narvin's family. Would he potentially also have cousins like Cresta? If so, why haven't we heard about them before? What would cause that sort of separation - would it be something he enforced or someone else?
The story then built around them, and the want to explore Lowtown because I wanted to explore more of Gallifrey and Lowtown really has so little written about it, it felt like the perfect place for these cousins to be hiding - and an excuse to bring Narvin back to Gallifrey.
So yeah, pitching this was difficult, and it took a lot of convincing to sell to Heather and Matt that bringing Narvin back to Gallifrey in secret would work - and I'm so glad it did!

as a child there's nothing cooler than a kid who gets subjected to evil experiments and gains special abilities. it's even cooler if these abilities also cause unfathomable suffering to use/against others. children love stories like this.

I could think of no better way to share the news than this!
So when I was 17, my cat went missing and I'd given up hope of ever seeing him again.
Until on Monday, 27th of May, 2024, my friend sent me a FB post asking 'isn't that your mother?' about the person named on the microchip.
Tumblr media
Here he is! 16 years old, and found safe, twelve whole years after he went missing!
Yesterday (Tuesday the 28th of May, 2024) I went to the rescue that had him, and I reclaimed my boy, renaming him Artie! (He'd originally been called 'Cat' because my mother and I couldn't decide on a name)
He's home safe with me now, currently inhabiting my bathroom and purring up a storm every time someone goes in there!
I'll be doing slow introductions between him and my current cat to give them the best possible chance of living in harmony!
Here's some pictures of Artie once we let him out of the carrier:

guys I had this realization the other day that Redwall works really well for reading aloud, and kinda half-remembered something about the author reading to kids? So I looked it up to see if I had made a connection.
And it turns out, yes, actually, because he read aloud to kids at a school for the blind. But all the books they gave him to read were depressing. So he wrote Redwall, a story about heroism and courage and making it through struggles, and filled it with so many sensory, visual details so he could give them something better and I just-- that's so wholesome-- help

one thing that will always be funny to me about batfam is that jason is forever convinced that dick is bruce's favorite child while all of his siblings know for sure that bruce's favorite child is actually jason
some random reporter: who's your favorite child?
bruce: how DARE YOU imply that i play favorites, i love ALL of my children equally
dick, without missing a bit: oh he absolutely plays favorites, it was jason
tim: rest in peace
