Moon 169-Newleaf
Amethystdapple (96) and Fry’s (76) kits have been made warriors!  It’s crazy to think that the birth of these kits, particularly Primpaw (11), sparked a revolution, and now they’re warriors.  The Clan has grown and changed so much since then.    Mossypaw (11) has been given the name of Mossyfleck, honoring his warmth (hah).  Amethystdapple is proud of her only son.  Brightpaw (11) has been given the name of Brightfern, honoring her assurance.  And, the star (hah) of the ceremony, Primpaw, is given the warrior name of Primcrest, honoring her adaptability.  She may not have proven herself yet, but Creekstar has no doubt that she will.  Chervilcry (148) has been trying to spend more time with her grandkits, but said grandkit Cypressbadger (35) finds all the attention annoying.  She and the mediator end up getting in a fight.  At least Sleepyfoot (35) seems to like her grandma.  It’s still a little weird for Wildcave (52) to think he has younger siblings the same age as his kits.  Oh well.  At least he enjoys sharing the latest inter-Clan gossip with his daughter.  Conegoat (52) is less thrilled with having a niece.  She ignores Daisypaw (10) and gets her in trouble for not changing out the bedding in the nursery. And she’s not the only one upset with Daisypaw. Rabbitfur (25) is still annoyed with having Daisypaw as an apprentice.  She rolls her eyes when Daisypaw argues with her over a technique, but doesn’t provide any reason why her way of doing it is better.  Daisypaw can’t wait to be done with training and be a warrior like her aunts are. Meanwhile, Shard (66) has grown quite fond of Fennelkit (5).  She knows she won’t be able to mentor the young cat, as their powers don’t match, but she wishes she could.

Moon 172-Greenleaf
Unfortunately, Halfnoise (13) was right to be concerned about Gladepatch (47).  He was working himself too hard trying to teach two apprentices and care for the Clan.  While reaching for some herbs (seeming to forget that he could either make them grow towards him or pull the land they were on towards him), he fell in the river and inhaled a lot of water.  He’s on bedrest while he heals, leaving the two apprentices by themselves.  It’s going to be challenging, but at least it’s greenleaf and there shouldn’t be too much illness. Chervilcry (151) is feeling old and cranky.  She thinks that the young cats are quite annoying.  Halfnoise isn’t very considerate of others and Fennelpaw (8) never does anything useful.  She quite prefers the company of fellow old cat Peakspots (141).  She even hopes that she dreams of him at night.  Peakspots has been encouraging her, a bit, and brings her some pretty flowers back from a patrol.  Fry (79) has been having constant nightmares lately, following the death of Conegoat, and is struggling to sleep.  He feels like Sleepyfoot (38) is downplaying his own concerns over his health.  Meanwhile, Sleepyfoot is preoccupied caring for her kits-both those in the nursery and the apprentices.  Having six young cats to care for at once is challenging!  What was she thinking? Caring for kits is also wearing on Pigeonspot (41) and the two got into an argument.  Pigeonspot also does not notice Elmkit (2) sneaking out of camp.  She returns a little while later, unscathed.   Wildcave (55), meanwhile, is ready to have more kits.  Rustsong (41) is not.  She thinks they should wait at least until Daisypaw (13) is made a warrior.  Gladepatch is developing a bit of a crush on Rabbitfur (28).  Sure she’s mean to him, but that makes her all the more appealing, right?  Apparently he’s not the only one who likes mean cats, because Brightfern (14) has been noticing just how beautiful Rabbitfur’s eyes are.  In the medicine den, Asterpaw (8) has taken to sharing what he’s been learning about herbs with his brothers, to help him remember.  Glowpaw (8) is listening carefully as he explains the purpose behind yarrow.

Moon 170-Newleaf
Riftpaw (11) and Palepaw (10) have been made warriors!  Palepaw has worked hard, and he has proven himself as more than ready to be a warrior.  He is given the name of Palejumble, honoring his spirit.  Riftpaw is also made a warrior earlier than his littermates.  His advice has helped many cats and Creekstar (24) has no doubt that he is ready to be a warrior.  He is named Riftmound, honoring his dignity.  Additionally, Sleepyfoot’s (36) kits have been born!  It turns out, their other parent is Pigeonspot (39).   There’s Elmkit (0), who thinks she knows everything and isn’t afraid to share it, who’s wind-blessed; and Goldenkit (0), who inherited her mothers’ earth-blessing.  As such, she is destined to become a Healer, but may have been better suited for life as a warrior.  She already wants to leave camp.  Hopefully she fares better than her uncle in law of the same name (Pigeonspot’s sister’s mate’s brother).  It’s a little weird for Chervilcry (149) to realize that she’s a great-grandmaother.  She feels old. But all of this good news is tempered by loss.  The newleaf rains bring a flash-flood to the caverns, filling ElementClan’s camp to the brim.  Shard (67), Chervilcry, and Volcanoblossom (97) do their best to hold back the tides and raise cats to safety, but they can't save everyone.  Primcrest (12) also does her part and saves the newborn kits, earning her the title of proven dark-cursed cat.  Despite the best efforts of these cats, Conegoat (53) and the new warrior Riftmound drown in the flood-waters.  Fry (77) mourns the death of his daughter from his first litter.  She had such a bright future ahead of her as the head Healer of the Clan.  He can still hear her talking about her dreams, can still picture her running through ElementClan’s territory, and to know that Conegoat will never get the chance to fulfill her dreams. . .it’s hard.  Wildcave (53) also mourns the loss of his last littermate.  He has his younger sisters now, but it’s not the same.  They didn’t grow up with him, like Conegoat did.  He refuses to eat when offered food, not so much as shifting his vacant gaze.  Despite the loss, life in the Clan moves on.  Featherspeck and Sleepyfoot’s kits have been apprenticed.  Asterpaw (6) and Poolpaw (6) are both made Healer apprentices, as Gladepatch (46) is the only currently working Healer and it’s hard for him to manage all of it on his own.  He’ll be glad when Sleepyfoot’s recovered from giving birth and can help him.  Fennelpaw (6) is apprenticed to Brightfern (12) and Glowpaw (6) to Wormdart (26). The new apprentices miss Featherspeck.  Poolpaw smiles up at the stars as he sits beside Gladepatch.  They seem to shine brighter, and he knows it’s a sign Featherspeck is still watching over him.  Asterpaw is excited for his first chance to go meet StarClan, so he can see his mother again.  Fennelpaw keeps glancing out in the crowd during the ceremony, tricking herself into thinking she would see her mother there.  Fennelpaw is also a little disappointed that she got Brightfern as a mentor.  She’s so young-they were practically kits together!  And she wishes that Chiku (104) had been her mentor.  She likes him more and he’s more experienced. Creekstar has decided to continue bringing her Clan back to its roots and is asking Peakspots (139) for stories about the time when his mother and Skydawn ruled the Clan.

Moon 166-Leaf-bare
Palepaw (6) has been apprenticed to Rustsong (35), as she’s pretty much the only powerless cat in the Clan who doesn’t have an apprentice.  Actually, there are very few cats in the Clan who don’t have apprentices right now.  Creekstar (20) may need to double up on some, although she doesn’t want to.  Despite having an apprentice of his own now and his kits being out of the nursery, Fry (73) makes sure to spend some time with the remaining kits.  He challenged Glowkit (2) to spar with him and has a great time playing with him. Rabbitfur (22) is not a fan of the apprentices.  She feels like Primpaw (8) is always getting in the way and that Brightpaw (8) is too cold and unhelpful.  She’s not even a big fan of her own apprentice, Daisypaw (7).  Poolkit (2) has already proven himself to be quite the trouble maker.  And also good at getting out of it.  He always offers to help out in the  healer's den instead of taking his punishment.  It’s hard to discourage that behavior.  Primpaw really enjoys being the leader’s apprentice, and showing off what she’s learned.  She’s showing Fennelkit (2) how to do a hunter’s crouch.  Conegoat (49) feels like she’s falling in love with Rustsong.  Is it weird, being in love with her brother’s mate?  Probably.  But she can’t control who she falls for.  Sleepyfoot (32), despite having kits of her own with Featherspeck (22) now, has been prancing around in front of Pigeonspot (35).  Featherspeck notices and feels like Pigeonspot should tell her to stop.  Sleepyfoot’s not very considerate of others.  Creekstar has remained close to Conegoat, since the Healer helped protect her when she was a kit.  She views her as a sort of aunt and enjoys going on walks with her.

Moon 163-Leaf-fall
Palekit (3) is having a bit of trouble adjusting to Clan life.  Peakspots (132) overheard the kit complaining about him behind his back about how the Elder doesn’t contribute to the Clan. On top of that, he’s been trying to climb up out of camp.  Featherspeck (19) has to blow him back down with a gust of wind.  With her kits almost ready to be apprenticed, Amethystdapple (90) decides she could spare some time out of camp.  At night.  On a nice moonlit stroll with Fry (70). . .the pair have a great time laughing and purring.  Wildcave (46) is having a not so great time.  He’s a bit frustrated with his kits.  He gets in a fight with Halfkit (4).  However, he, feels like the slightly older Mossykit (5) (who also happens to be his half-brother) is an absolute pain.  Conegoat (46), on the other paw, loves her niece and nephews (aka, Wildcave’s kits).  She especially enjoys spending time with Finchkit (4).   Brightkit (5) is so excited to get out of the nursery.  She and Goldenkit (5) can’t wait to be all grown up.  Primkit (5) would also love to be an adult, or at least have other cats treat her like an adult.  She’s tired of being constantly watched because of her powers.  Pigeonspot (32) is a little jealous of what Amethystdapple and Fry have.  She wishes that she had someone who loves her like Fry loves Amethystdapple.  Wormdart (19) decides to try and make up with Frostheart (66), but it doesn't work.  They just end up resentful of each other.

Moon 159-Greenleaf
There is a lull in the Clan drama when Wildcave (42) and Rustsong (28) have their kits!  Two of them are powerless like their mother: the daring Finchkit (0) and charming Halfkit (0).  The anxious Daisykit (0) has a wind-blessing that is so weak it’s hard to detect, but there. The fourth kit has a surprisingly strong fire-blessing and he is named Riftkit (0).  But the peace doesn’t last long. While the older warriors are sleeping, Primkit (1) decides to sneak out and chase the fireflies around camp.  She thinks it’s cool that they can glow, just like she can!  But she’s better at hiding in the darkness than they are.  She pounces after them until she’s right in front of Yuccastar’s (138) den.  She peaks in and is surprised to see Peakspots (128) in there as well.  She shrugs and goes back to chasing the bugs, but she trips over a stick, making a noise that wakes up Yuccastar.  Primkit doesn’t notice.  Until she hears a noise behind her and startles, sucking the life out of the firefly in front of her.  She has been found out.  Yuccastar is furious about being tricked once again. They lunge towards the small kit, but Creekstripe (13) jumps in front of her.  She was awakened by the noises and is glad that she was.  She stands in front of the kit, growling, darkness seeping from her pelt.  The rest of the Clan awakens and comes out of their dens.  Creekstripe, Gladepatch (35), Conegoat (42), Amethystdapple (86), and Fry (66) explain what’s going on.  And how Yuccastar has killed Rindlefish, Judaschaser, Fumblekit, Cressfreckle, and maybe even Caterpillarmallow and Faiththrift.  The Clan doesn’t believe them, at first, but then Yellowcreek and Cressfreckle come down from StarClan and explain that yes, it is true.  Their star-blessed leader is a murderer.  The Clan is in shock.  Peakspots wails out that he can’t believe it.  Chervilcry (138) stares at her sibling in horror.  The Clan decides to exile Yuccastar and strip her of their lives and name, leaving her as just the elderly Yuccawillow. The Clan convinces Wildcave to step down as deputy, which he reluctantly does, so that Creekstripe can become leader.  Just as Creekstripe had thought would happen.  She goes to the moonstone with Gladepatch to receive her nine lives. She receives the lives of curiosity from Songkit, strength from Cressfreckle, happiness from Yellowcreek, instincts from Airclaw, certainty from Caterpillarmallow, mercy from Skydawn, protection from Graysong, clear judgment from Judaschaser, and tireless energy from Shadestar.  Creekstar is granted guardianship of ElementClan and promises that she will use her power wisely.  She chooses Fry as her deputy.
Meta: What a moon. This is one of my favorite moons that I've written. What do you guys think? Do you think Creekstar will be a good leader, even though she's very young? There were a couple flavor texts that made me decide to (finally) get rid of Yuccastar this moon. I'm pretty sure they were about Primkit catching a firefly and Yuccastar and Creekstripe getting into a fight. The whole deposing thing was something I did manually and did not naturally happen in the game. Also, in game, Yuccastar has only murdered Rindlefish and Cressfreckle. In canon, she murdered Rindlefish, Judaschaser, Fumblekit, Cressfreckle, Caterpillarmallow and Faiththrift. Also, I changed around the givers of Creekstar's lives to cats who would be more meaningful to her. Here are the life-givers listed in game: Songkit (curiosity), Cressfreckle (strength), Strawberrytrail (mercy), Caterpillarmallow (certainty), Moorleg (instincts), Steppemimic (clear judgement), Whistlepaw (protection), Rockypaw (happiness), and Shadestar (tireless energy).

Moon 158-Newleaf
Apparently Cressfreckle (74) wasn’t as subtle as he thought.  Less than a moon after Caterpillarmallow’s death, he was pushed off a cliff into some sharp rocks and died.  The culprit is unknown, but Gladepatch (34), Conegoat (41), Sleepyfoot (24), and Creekpaw (12) suspect Yuccastar.  Shortly after her grandpa dies, Creekpaw is given the warrior name of Creekstripe, honoring her vigilance.  She’s terrified of what might be coming for her, now that it seems Yuccastar is on a murder spree.  Gladepatch mourns the loss of his last parent.  He knows that this is not the life Cressfreckle wanted for his family, but is glad that at least he is reunited with Airclaw, Graysong, and Yellowcreek in StarClan.  Brioche (72) also couldn’t beat the redcough and died.  But all is not horrible in the Clan.  Amethystdapple has a litter of four kits.  There’s the daydreaming Mossykit (0), who has a medium strength fire-blessing; the surprisingly bossy Goldenkit (0), who surprises the Clan with her water-blessing when neither of her parents share that magic; the fittingly named Brightkit (0) with her bullying personality and fire-blessing; and Primkit (0).  An attention-seeking little girl who seems to be. . .emitting darkness.  Conegoat is the one who’s helping with the kitting and, thinking of how Yuccastar has treated dark-cursed kits in the past (e.g. by killing them) opts not to tell her.  She, Amethystdapple, Fry (65), Gladepatch, and Creekstripe are the only ones who know and they want to keep it that way.  Creekstripe knows that, if she decides to lead a coup against Yuccastar and expose her, she will become leader.  She’s not sure she’s ready for that yet.  But if Yuccastar discovers Primkit’s powers, she will expose their leader as a murderer.  She needs to protect this kit like she couldn’t protect her brother.
Meta: In the game, Yuccastar did in fact murder Cressfreckle. Both of them had mutual hatred for each other even without me mediating them to hate each other. I did not want Cressfreckle to die.

Moon 157-Newleaf
Things were going so well in the Clan.  Key word: were.  Amethystdapple (84) had moved into the nursery and Rustsong (26)  had announced that she was expecting kits.  But then Caterpillarmallow (106) was found murdered.  The culprit is unknown, but Featherspeck (13) picks up faint traces of ElementClan scent by the scene.  Peakspots (126) wasn’t a big fan of Caterpillarmallow, but she was his clanmate, first and foremost.  He bows his head at the vigil respectfully.  Cressfreckle (73), Conegoat (40), and Gladepatch (33) have a suspect though:  Yuccastar (136).  Their mate didn’t like Caterpillarmallow, so maybe they murdered her for him.  Their suspicions remain unproven, though.  Chasingskip (69), despite her somewhat rough relationship with the mother of her kits, is sad to see Caterpillarmallow go.  She was such a special cat.  Cypressbadger (23) and Sleepyfoot (23) are devastated by the loss of their mother.  Cypressbadger keeps close to her friends and clanmates, seeking out their comfort and company.  Sleepyfoot listens to memories shared of Caterpillarmallow.  Some of them make her laugh, others make her cry.  Most of them do both.  She misses her mom, but is glad that she is with Burrowpaw in StarClan now.  With feeling like he’s failed by not exposing Yuccastar sooner, Cressfreckle is testy.  He’s complaining that Featherspeck and Pigeonspot never do anything helpful (even though they do).  Conegoat notices this, deduces the real reason behind his mood, and reassures him that Caterpillarmallow’s death wasn’t his fault. Cressfreckle still decides to do some more investigating of Yuccastar (subtly, of course), and the three of them decide to tell Sleepyfoot and Cypressbadger their suspicions.  Sleepyfoot believes them and gives Yuccastar bitter herbs on purpose.  Cypressbadger is less sure.  Creekpaw (11) has also been told about her family’s suspicions.  As such, she’s reluctant to spar with Yuccastar today.  But she does anyways because she understands that it’s necessary that she doesn’t suspect anything.
Meta: In the game, it is still (up to where I've played as of queuing this post) unknown who Caterpillarmallow's killer was. I just recently checked the code (as in, a week before this post went public) and it turns out that Peakspots was actually the one who killed her! But I didn't know that when I was writing these moons and it would have changed a lot later on. So, in canon, Yuccastar killed her. It just makes sense.

Moon 156-Newleaf
Featherpaw (12), Rabbitpaw (12), and Wormpaw (12) have been made warriors!  Featherpaw is now Featherspeck, honoring her tranquility, Rabbitpaw is named Rabbitfur for her loyalty, and Wormpaw is named Wormdart for his observance.  Their mentors are proud of the cats they’ve become and the new warriors are glad they get to have their warrior ceremony together.  They remember how Volcanoblossom’s (83) kits didn’t make it this far, how Burrowpaw left her sisters to graduate without her, and how Creekpaw (10) is missing her brother next to her. At least their ceremony at the beginning of newleaf marks a good start to the season for ElementClan.  In addition to three new warriors, Amethystdapple (83) has announced that she’s expecting kits!  It’ll be nice to have more kits in the Clan.  Now that Featherspeck is a warrior, Chervilcry (135) checks on her to make sure she’s feeling confident, but not like there’s too much pressure on her.  She remembers how much pressure was on Shardfrost to perform when she was younger.  Featherspeck assures her that she’s alright, although internally she is feeling stressed.  She doesn’t want to let the Clan down.  Meanwhile, Fry (63) is feeling stressed about his mate having kits and goes to Conegoat (39) for advice on what to do.  She has no idea-does she look like she’s a mother?  But she tries to give him advice anyways.  Despite being busy, Wildcave (39) makes sure to make time for his mate.  He and Rustsong (25) went on a moonlit stroll last night.  It was quite nice.  She laughed at his jokes the whole time.  Volcanoblossom decides to check in on Creekpaw.  Being from outside the Clan, she doesn’t quite get the Clan’s belief that dark-cursed cats are dangerous and wants to make sure the young cat is doing alright.  Creekpaw says she’s doing fine, but that she wishes there were more cats her age around.  It reminds Volcanoblossom of her kits, and leaves her feeling a little bit down.  Despite still being sick with redcough, Brioche (70) is determined to fit into the Clan and offers to lead a patrol.  Sleepyfoot (22) convinces her to stay in camp, for now, and assures her that she’ll be leading patrols in no time.

Moon 154-Leaf-bare
Leaf-bare illness has hit.  Chiku (88) has gotten whitecough, Creekpaw (8) has gotten greencough, and Featherpaw (10) has gotten yellowcough.  Oof.  Creekpaw is tempted to heal herself with her dark-cursed powers, but Caterpillarmallow (104) tells her not to.  It’s dangerous.  Creekpaw sighs, but relents.  For now.  If she starts feeling much worse, it can’t hurt that much to help herself, can it?  In other medical news, Yuccastar (133) is getting older and Caterpillarmallow is worried that she’s pushing herself too hard.  They bristle and snap at their Healer.  She knows what she can handle!  Caterpillarmallow is starting to feel old herself and has taken to sparring with Featherpaw to sharpen her skills.  She needs to be able to fight high powered cats, and Featherpaw needs to practice fighting, even though she’s sick.  It’s good for both of them.  While Featherpaw’s training is going well, Frostheart (57) is a little frustrated with training Rabbitpaw (10).  The young cat doesn’t want to follow her orders!  Something to do with having a ‘strong moral code’ which apparently, Frostheart doesn’t have.  Pigeonspot (23) wasn’t this contrary!  But during a patrol, she notices that Rabbitpaw is acting off.  She asks her what is wrong, and Rabbitpaw explains that she doesn’t feel like she’s doing good enough, even though she’s really trying.  Frostheart feels a surge of sympathy for the young cat, who grew up in a Clan without parents, and curls around her.  She purrs softly and tells her a story of her own apprentice days, and her own mistakes.  Frostheart promises that nobody but Rabbitpaw will remember her mistakes.  Wildcave (37) continues to buck Peakspots’ (123) advice.  He knows how to be deputy!  He might even be leader one day.  He doesn’t need the old deputy trying to school him.  It’s past his time.  His sister, Conegoat (37), is enjoying that Cypressbadger (20) keeps coming to the healer's den to check on her sick apprentice.  She has very pretty eyes. . .and Conegoat isn’t the only Healer with romance brewing.  Gladepatch (30) has taken to admiring Sleepyfoot (20) from afar. Well, as far as he can get when they both work in the same den. While on patrol, Gladepatch comes across a StarClan visitor.  It’s Yellowcreek!  He tucks his paws under him and listens to the advice his father has to give him about parenting a dark-cursed cat.
Meta: This moon, Moorleg died while she was lost. RIP Moorleg.

Moon 152-Leaf-fall
After a rainy leaf-fall collapsed most of their dens, badgers attacked ElementClan’s camp.  Maybe it was because they blamed the new water-powered cats on the high rainfall, maybe they wanted the cavern for themselves, or something else entirely.  No cat truly knows what goes on in the head of a badger.  But what is known is that a badger attack is devastating.  The elder Strawberrytrail (140) tried to defend herself, but proved too old and frail to fend off a badger for long and died. Steppemimic (35) was trying to protect Whistlepaw (7) and Rockypaw (7), who had gotten ill after eating a bad rabbit, and all three of them were brutally killed.  Once more, not even powerful magic could save them.  Finally, the badgers attacked the nursery, where the almost apprentice-aged Creekkit (6) and Songkit (6) were the only ones left.  The badger immediately went for the kits and snapped Songkit’s neck before he could do anything.  Gladepatch (28) arrived and leaped onto the badger’s back to try and protect Creekkit, but another badger was coming into the nursery.  Creekkit tried to use just her fire powers to fend them off, but, once she saw the dead body of her brother lying on the ground, she snapped.  With the Clan as spectators, she used her dark-cursed powers to drain both badgers of their life. But somehow spared Gladepatch, who was still in contact with one of the badgers.  Afterwards, she collapsed to the ground.  Yuccastar (131) was furious that Gladepatch and Conegoat (35) had hidden the true nature of the kits from her, but other Clanmates were just glad that the badgers were dead.  Peakspots (121) reminded his mate that his mother, Shadestar, had been a dark-cursed cat, and that she had proven herself in a similar way to Creekkit, albeit when she was a bit older.  With most of the Clan badgering (bad joke?) her to allow Creekkit to stay, Yuccastar relented and granted the young cat the status of proven dark-cursed cat, something that her grandfather, Yellowcreek, had never managed to earn.  She does decide to train the young cat herself once Creekpaw is made an apprentice.   The Clan is grieving from the loss of several beloved members.  Volcanoblossom (79) has lost all three of her kits just three moons after joining the Clan.  If that isn’t a sign that she doesn’t belong, she doesn’t know what would be.  But she’ll give the Clan another chance.  Maybe it has some worth she hasn’t seen yet.  Fry (59) is also reeling from the death of his kit. He feels like he’s living through a nightmare.  Steppemimic can’t really be dead.  As Fry’s clanmates comfort him during the vigil, he can’t help but wonder if things will ever feel normal again without Steppemimic in his life.  Wildcave (35) feels sick to his stomach at the loss of his sister.  The last time he saw her, they had fought, and now all Wildcave can do is beg for forgiveness and hope Steppemimic is watching from StarClan.  Peakspots is also hit hard by Steppemimic’s death and grabs a piece of her fluff to add to his nest.
Meta: I like that Creekpaw proved herself in a similar way to Shadestar (Shadestar killed a group of foxes attacking the camp). And yes, if any of you were wondering, Yellowcreek killing a fox who snuck into the nursery should have been enough to prove him. But Yuccastar is a jerk and refused to, making the argument that he was only protecting himself (he was the only kit in the nursery at the time). In this case, she couldn't do that because Creekpaw protected Gladepatch.

Moon 148-Greenleaf
Another moon, another success.  Songkit (2) and Creekkit (2) are still undiscovered.  There was a close call where Conegoat (31) walked in on Creekkit splashing in a puddle. . .and controlling the water in it, but she already knew so it’s alright.  Songkit has taken to spending time in the healer's den with his dad.  He picked some flowers and brought them to Gladepatch (24).  So sweet. Cressfreckle (64) loves having grandkits (even though he feels too young to be a grandpaw).  He’s always checking in on them and Songkit especially appreciates it. Sleepypaw (14) is tired of being the only apprentice in the Clan.  Her sister is a warrior and she really just wants to be a full Healer.  Steppemimic (31) hasn’t been doing much training with her because she’s been so distracted lately, both with the new kits and with her various crushes.  Today, it’s Frostheart (51), who keeps casually finding excuses to hang out in the healer's den and brush up against Steppemimic.  Steppemimic has also been hanging out with the new kits.  She makes sure to give Songkit his favorite prey.  Chasingskip (60) has grown quite fond of Rabbitkit (4) and hopes that she gets to train the young cat.  It’s been a while since she had an apprentice, and she misses it.  Pigeonspot (17) and new deputy Wildcave (31) get into a disagreement.  Wildcave wants her to go herb gathering, but she doesn’t want to.  Just because she’s earth-blessed doesn’t mean she should be relegated to Healer duties.  She’s a warrior and wants to be treated like it!   The Clan really needs to learn it’s lesson about getting too close to twolegs.  While on a patrol with Chasingskip, Moorleg (60) gets too close and is captured.  Maybe she’ll be able to find Mothecho and bring her back?

Moon 147-Greenleaf
Creekkit (1) and Songkit (1) have remained undiscovered.  For now.  It’s pretty easy to pass Songkit off as powerless, considering his low power-level.  Gladepatch (23) just has to keep reminding him not to drain the plants around him. And if he does, Gladepatch can help regrow them.  Creekkit is. . .a little bit harder to deal with.  Besides her naturally troublesome personality (putting thorns in Wildcave’s-30- bedding, seriously?), she is quite powerful.  Gladepatch has managed to convince the Clan that she’s fire-blessed, as that seems to be her favorite magic to use, but it’s hard for her to keep the others under wraps.  She doesn’t understand why she should have to hide.  Why can’t the Clan just accept her as she and her brother are?  To explain why he’s been spending so much time with the kits (and because he wants to) Gladepatch has decided to adopt the two of them.  Maybe he can keep them safe.  Chasingskip (59) has also been hanging out in the nursery quite a bit, as she misses being in the nursery and caring for kits, now that hers are grown up.  So, she surprises Creekkit with a nicely made mossball to play with. In other Clan news, Peakspots (116) has decided to retire from deputy.  He’s been feeling quite worn down lately.  The young Wildcave takes his place.  He has the drive and the power to do well in the position.   Conegoat (30) and Gladepatch are on much better terms after finding the kits together.  And Steppemimic (30) even seems to be getting along with Gladepatch pretty well.  It feels like he’s finally found his place in the healer's den.

Moon 146-Newleaf
Cressfreckle (62) has been upping his investigation of Yuccastar (125).  He’s been eavesdropping on her (which is a lot harder for a powerless cat than one with wind powers) and been seeing if any other cats in the Clan share his dislike of their leader.  He knows that Gladepatch (22) does, but highly doubts that Peakspots (115) and Chervilcry (125) do.  Mothecho probably would have, if she hadn’t been taken by twolegs.  Maybe his former apprentice Cypressbadger (12)?  Moorleg (58), despite being kind of annoying with her crush on him, may also end up on his side.  Maybe Pigeonspot (15) too.  Moorleg has noticed that Cressfreckle likes spending time with the kits, and so she has taken to doing so as well.  She has a great time getting into a mock battle with Rabbitkit (2).  Chasingskip (58) is looking out for her surviving kits and asks Sleepypaw (12) if there are any herbs she should look out for while on patrol later.    Steppemimic (29) has been stressed with training an apprentice and needs some more downtime.  Wildcave (29) offers to take Sleepypaw out for a patrol, which his sister appreciates.  And that gives Steppemimic a chance to hang out with Pigeonspot.  She’s the only cat that can make her laugh and its fascinating to see what an earth-blessed warrior gets up to.  Meanwhile in the elder’s den, Strawberrytrail (134) doesn’t want to take her herbs and gets in a fight with Sleepypaw.  After the fight, she ignores the Healer apprentice. Sleepypaw is also feeling ignored by her mentor and feels like Steppemimic has been shoving her off onto other cats. In the nursery, Wormkit (2) absolutely adores his sisters and hopes that Featherkit (2) will be his friend forever.  And it looks like they’ll be getting some new companions. While on a patrol, Conegoat (29) and Gladepatch find a pair of kittens next to their dead parent.  While investigating them, Gladepatch notices that one is clearly emanating. . .darkness.  And the plants around her are dead.  A dark-cursed cat!  And the other. . .well, the signs around him are fainter, but they’re there.  Two dark-cursed kittens.  Gladepatch remembers what happened to his brother and father because of their magic, and begs Conegoat to keep it a secret. He tells her that Yuccastar actually killed his brother because of his magic.  Conegoat is shocked, but agrees to keep the secret.  They take the two kittens back to camp.  The girl is named Creekkit (0) and the boy is named Songkit (0), after Yellowcreek and Graysong.

Moon 144-Newleaf
Cressfreckle (60) decided to talk with Yuccastar (123) and see if he could get her to confess to anything.  He couldn’t, although he could tell that she was nervous.  Her power kept slipping and causing little gusts of wind around them.  They both ended up resentful of each other.  Seeing as Cressfreckle is one of the more senior warriors in the Clan, Peakspots (113) asks if he could organize patrols for a day.  Cressfreckle refuses, still frustrated with Yuccastar and, by extension, her mate, leading to resentment between the two.  This moon, Cressfreckle seems to be annoying everyone. He feels like Burrowpaw (10) has been too invested in his training of Cypresspaw (10) and they get in a fight.  At least Gladepatch (20) still likes him and thinks that he’s always reliable.  Burrowpaw is impatient to get back to training, but she’s still sick and injured.  She just wants to show her mentor how smart, talented, and skilled she is.  While on a patrol, Conegoat (27) finds the dead body of a tom and his (still-living) kits.  She brings the kits back to camp and names them Featherkit (0), Rabbitkit (0), and Wormkit (0).  All three have powerful wind magic.

Moon 142-Leaf-bare
Yellowcough proved too much for Yuccastar (121) in her old age.  Thankfully, she was able to recover after losing only one life, but it was still a little scary.  She also spread the yellowcough to Chasingskip (54) and Pigeonpaw (11). Thankfully, it was after  Pigeonpaw had been given her warrior name of Pigeonspot,  honoring her valiance.  Caterpillarmallow (92) has been feeling stressed lately, with all the sick cats.  She ignores Gladepatch (18) and her voice has been extra shrill lately.  The sound of it makes Peakspots (111) shudder.  Caterpillarmallow does find the time to chat with Conegoat (25) while getting something to eat, though.   Gladepatch has been feeling a bit like the odd one out in the healer's den.  In addition to Caterpillarmallow being snippy, Steppemimic (25) was making mean comments about him.  He just wants to spend time alone.  Sleepypaw (8) is making some good progress, though.  She feels like she’s ready to take care of any patients. There is also a bit of romance going on in the Clan.  Amethystdapple (69) and Fry (49) were seen rolling around a little too playfully. . .maybe there’ll be new kits in the Clan come newleaf.
