In F/SR, Chiemon was the victim of the Shimabara Rebellion, his family and his village all died because They were christians
He doesn't ever stop being religious, he still prays to God, even if he has given up everything else
He has no hopes of going to Heaven, so what he wants is to see that Hell he lived again
Because that's what he believes that he deserves
And yet, at the end of the day, the only thing Chiemon wants was to be saved (from the DLC 1, Lancer's Team ending, he prays at (possibly) his mother's grave)
But he can't allow himself that because he doesn't even believe he should have survived at all
Why only him
His mother, his father, all of them killed
And he was the only one who survived
Left in that hell
And then you have Lancer
He prayed her summoning, he started the chant as a prayer
Jeanne, who gave her life to save everyone
Who was fine with being killed because she had saved her country
They are opposites and they are one and the same
#do NOT tag as ship AT ALL or i kill you#they go to church together btw#chiemon doesnt want to but jeanne is like âi'll buy ice creamâ she doesnt havey money and chiemon doesnt care for ice cream#he still accepts because his 19 year old older sister|mom (he is on his 20s) looks very sad and while he wont admit it#he cares a little#Just a little#like literally. he cares so little.#he mainly wants her to die#which is hilarious to me#he really doesnt like her#but he wants to be saved#and if he let her#she would#saving is what she does best#she'll pray away your depression chiemon. just trust#she can do it#if he had summoned JAlter (the avenger. lancer isnt jalter. shes just jeanne)#FSR wouldve been WAYYY different#17 more bad endings#unlocked#i love characters who are religious and sad

âthey donât want people to know that their daughter is a monsterâ 1) look whoâs talking, and 2) literally what did she DOOOO that was so unforgivable, except be a teenage girl that was kinda insane over her comphet crush and have access to spells. i jst think, in this fantasy world, aurora rlly didnât even⊠do⊠that muchâŠ. like, out of all the actions she did, she mostly jst kinda handed ppl tools and then it was out of her hands. jacks fucking traded his heart to her willingly (for a protection cuff that didnât seem to do that much for the end of the story, anyway). iâm an aurora defender, because you guys see one (1) female character thatâs not perfectly feminine and submissive and you start screaming
#memorie.txt#.bookthoughts#iâm sorry iâm not over this. ship evangeline and jacks all you want but you guys only hate aurora bc she also had a crush on jacks#& was funny and insane over it. you hate female characters the moment they arenât perfect.#but JACKS gets a pass for being a creep a lot of the time and also being. like. an actual villain#now i personally love him at his worst and hate him in the spin-off#but anyway. proud aurora valor defenderâŠ#i hate that i read caraval when my brain was developing and now i have feelings over a shitty ya series#that i would otherwise not care abt#but god cursed me in this way and iâll take to it with a religious fervor i GUESS#the lack of other female characters even having purpose in this series also makes me sad. say SORRY WOMEN!!!!!#author: stephanie garber#book: a curse for true love#whatâs also frustrating is that i know most of the fans will age a bit in the next few years and realize all the flaws#like i did w the original trilogy#but it makes me sad. aurora iâm sorry you never got to be reunited with your twin. iâm sorry your ex fiancĂ© killed ppl over you.#iâm sorry you were put in a coma. iâm sorry ppl hate you indiscriminately.#same thing w apollo. heâs jst a self-absorbed guy who was cursed 4 times#we never saw his personality and stephanie jst needed a quick villain for the third book she didnât plan for

Pick a pile. Choose one or more pictures. Trust your intuition.
Pile 1: At first glance your future spouse looks like a very inaccessible, complex person, whom it is difficult to get close to and generally interest them in communication but the closer you get to know them, the more reveals themself to you as a very kind, caring, gentle person, ready to support you and help you in difficult times. I can say that this person has two sides and they decide which side to show themselves, depending on whether they consider you close, trust you or not (but in your case they will definitely consider you close, a loved one who can be trusted). They are those who rely on their intelligence and rationality, but often act based on their intuition, they have a lot of life experience. They are prudent, they know how to solve problems, how to find a way out of a situation, they often "do not look for easy ways", they can complicate their lives but this is because they want to do something different, bring something new to life, get a new experience. They are quite hardworking, they work very hard, mostly their work is in mental activity, so can quickly get tired of this. They like to reflect, share their deep thoughts, they can also look for hidden meaning where it may not be. If you are interested in esotericism, then a person can support your hobby, discuss topics from this area with you, or treat neutrally and listen to you about it but they will never condemn you about it. Your future spouse will also treat you with great tenderness, love and care, will try to make you happier, you are a very valuable and dear person for them, they will always feel that they are not doing enough for you, although they may even overdo it in some ways, often cause you pleasant embarrassment. They also respect you, respect your opinion, your personal boundaries, your desires and they respect parents, yours and theirs.
Pile 2: Your future spouse is quite sensitive, gentle, romantic, sensitive, sentimental, a person of fine mental organization. They will love you with all their heart, will devote a lot of time and attention to you, most likely their language of love is words and gifts, they can often compliment you, notice details in your appearance or in your behavior, give you gifts. They are very kind people in themselves, they do not like to argue and participate in conflicts, they are quite calm in this regard, it is difficult to anger them but it is not difficult to offend or hurt their feelings. This person can also be private, someone who doesn't like to talk a lot about his sad thoughts and feelings, such as anger, sadness, resentment, etc. such emotions are suppressed and do not like to be exposed to the public. At the same time, your future spouse is a very smart, intelligent person, constantly engaged in self-development, improvement of their skills, promotion at work / study, they are quite active. They are also very fond of children and animals, so if you have any of these, they will treat them with all their love and care. They may also have younger siblings or nephews, whom they also treat well, do a lot for them. They may be creative people, engage in drawing, be interested in art, literature, music, may even work in this field or have a lot of knowledge in this field. They are also very spiritually developed, they can be religious. Your future spouse will support you in everything since you will be like the love of their life for them, they will protect you and treat you very carefully, they sincerely love you, they may even often tell their family, friends, and loved ones with great love about you. They show that they really love you, it is noticeable by their actions and by the way they look at you with love, talk about you, how they address you using affectionate words.
Pile 3: Your future spouse is a person who works very hard, both in terms of career and in terms of self-improvement, they are constantly busy with important things, they may hold a high position at work, they may have several businesses, they themselves may be business partners for someone. Also, your future spouse has a very attractive, beautiful and sexy appearance, good physique, they have an alluring charisma that is difficult to resist. They like to flirt with their lovers very much, they can be overbearing, as they love to feel dominant, they can be a little jealous and possessive. They are also very active, like a mobile lifestyle, like to travel a lot especially in the company of someone, like to be in a circle of people, they are quite sociable and will always find a topic for conversation, they know how to maintain a dialogue. They are very proud, self-confident individuals, and with this vibe they energize people around them, inspire and motivate them. At the same time, they are quite empathic people, they experience the hardships of others as if they themselves had encountered them, in this regard they can be quite sensitive. They also tend to think about their shortcomings, fixate on failures and at such moments it is important to support them, show that they are loved and very successful people.
Thank you for reading! I will be glad of any feedback đ€

Beautiful Devil
RQ: 'Hi, I have a request: a fic about NightcrawlerxFem!Reader, Beauty and the beast AU, starting it like the fairytale (Reader decide to sacrifice herself for her father because the scared man THINK the mysteriuos blue creature ask him to bring one of his daughters in his place). Maybe in the finale you can add the mob attacking the castle like in the episode of the '90 serie, with Graydon Creed guiding the mob (you can't look at that man and don't think he's a variant of Gaston). Just don't turn Kurt into a human, I love our fuzzy Elf. Thanks!' - @historygirl93
Warnings: F!reader, some violence, minor character death. Unedited.
A/N: I think this is a cute idea, I love the story. I don't see how Kurt could ever be viewed as 'beastly' he's too sweet. The fairytale is a longer story and involving all the details would take me a long time to write, so I did what I could to get the idea of the story across. I did my best, it was slightly challenging, and I changed just a few details just because I thought it would be better for the story.
WC: 2.2k
The village held such a prejudice against the blue demon who lived in the abandoned church. Rumors of yellow glowing eyes and a shadow with a devil's tail flicking in the dark, crawling on the walls like a hellish insect. A monster, the children of the village feared him just as much as the adults, whom had weapons ready to kill if he dared leave the cathedral.
Your father was highly religious. He wanted to banish the devil from the church once and for all, to purify the holy ground, but believed that only a sacrifice would satisfy the creature. You were horrified at first, being so helplessly given away as a sacrifice, you were the lamb that was about to be beheaded for no reason.
Upon being abandoned at the cathedral, surrounded by the harsh cold and snow, you thought you'd freeze to death. To your initial horror and surprise, the devil appeared. He flashed in front of you in black and purple smoke, like they rose from the ashes of Hell. You were far too tired and exhausted, so before you knew it, your body was wrapped and you were inside.
You felt the warmth of the fire inside the stone furnace, you sat up and watched the orange flames dance quietly while the blanket remained wrapped around your drenched form. The snow melted away and left you wet and still somewhat cold. But you were at least inside...
Once you regained enough bearings, you looked around for the devil, wondering where he was and what he was going to do to you. You felt fearful, your mind having heavy thoughts invading your mind of horrific treatment. While you searched the dark room, you saw his eyes peering to you from the darkest corner, tiny irises of gold staring through your soul.
"It's you..." your voice muttered out quietly, "You're the devil." Your hushed tone made him tilt his head slightly, he slowly walked around the wall, the far shadows hiding most of him.
"Nein...I am no Teufel..." he spoke back, his voice was even and not nearly as intimidating as you thought it would be. "I was born like this. But I am no demon." He stepped closer as he spoke to you, his appearance becoming more visible in the firelight. He had blue skin and sharp teeth like the villagers said, a long tail with a devil's spade, sharp nails and pointed ears...
"You look like one," you shakily retorted, still on edge of what his intentions were and you weren't about to fall victim without a fight. He only chuckled back, empty and somewhat...sad.
"I know."
He sat down near you, a few feet away, looking at you and slowly giving a smile, trying to be friendly. "I won't hurt you, I wouldn't ever." He paused, then continued, "Besides, a demon cannot step inside a church." He reasoned, holding out a three fingered hand to you. "Hab keine Angst."
You were cautious, but after seeing he wasn't nearly as horrifying as the town made him seem, you reached out and touched his hand. His skin was warm, he was fluffy. He felt like soft velvet, not like cold scaled skin you had been told was the skin of the devil.
Over the following weeks, you became closer to each other. You warmed up quickly after his efforts to try to appear not so scary, and once you spoke more often, he was actually very sweet and kind. You watched him feed birds and squirrels, holding the seeds in his palms and speaking to the birds as if they could understand him.
His favorites were the blue jays.
He showed you the cathedral, leading you through the massive church and showing you around. He showed you the library with lots of books along the walls, the studio where old paints and canvases were. He gave you plenty of things to do, and he provided you with good food, a large space to sleep, he treated you well. He was kind and sweet and...attractive.
You couldn't help but feel yourself get pulled towards him. Feel yourself get swept up by his chivalry and charm. He showed off in front of you, entertaining you with his skills as an acrobat and swordsman, he even let you try to swing one of his swords.
It was much heavier than you thought, making his skills all the more impressive.
You got word that your father had fallen very ill, and you wanted to see him. Kurt didn't want you to leave, scared you'd never return again. He held your hands and looked at you in the eye, his worry etched on his face. "You won't abandon me, will you?" he asks softly, "I don't wish for you to go..." he brings your hand up to his cheek, rubbing his face into your palm.
Your heart melts and you sigh, "I promise I'll come back. I just...want to make sure my father is okay..." you whisper back. You knew how he felt, being abandoned was one of his biggest fears. All he had been in his life was abandoned, by his mother, this town, sometimes he felt as though God himself has abandoned him.
With great reluctance, he let go and you rushed back into the village, desperate to see your sickly father. You were still angry he left you to die, but he was still your father. When you made it back, you came to his bedside and saw how terrible he looked. You had no idea what he had, but he looked on the verge of death.
Word got loose that you were in the town, somehow surviving the 'demon' who resided in the abandoned church. The town's greatest 'champion,' Graydon, nearly stormed up to your home and forced his way in. His voice loud and demanding, he as angry and furious with you.
The vile man had attempted to court you before. You always denied him. Why would you want to be with someone as crude and hateful as Graydon?
"How did you escape that wretched demon?" he demanded, yanking you from your father's bedside. He held your arm tight and stared at you with fury in his eyes. "That beastly creature will invade our town because of you! You were his sacrifice! Leaving signifies that the deal is broken! You've doomed all of us!"
Your eyes were wide as he basically screamed in your face, his cool was gone and he looked like he wanted to hurt you. You tugged against his strong hold, grunting as you tried to get free. "He's not a monster, or a demon! He's just a man!" You shouted back, "He's kind, gentle, he wouldn't hurt a soul!"
Graydon laughed at you, yanking you closer again. "You are lucky you are pretty, girl...you are such a naĂŻve little thing. That devil is evil, and you have succumbed to his incubi ways. Don't worry, I'll make sure I fix that little head of yours up and rid you of the corruption he has brought upon you."
He threw you down, you hit your head and everything became a hazy mess. You heard his footsteps leave, his heavy boots hitting the old wooden floors with anger. You tried to lift yourself up, but you hit your head too hard. The world was spinning around you, but you didn't want any harm to come to Kurt. Graydon was as ruthless as he was egotistical, and he was dead set on murdering Kurt. He always had been, telling tall tales of cutting off his head and hanging it over the statue in town square.
You could hear his voice, rallying the town and heading up the treacherous path to the abandoned cathedral. You felt your heart ache, your body fading to unconsciousness from the injury.
When you regained consciousness, your body ached but the thought of Graydon already at the church gave you a newfound form of energy. You jerked up, your father had been too weak and sick to help, while you worried for him, the memory of him giving you up to die was there. You had to make a choice, and your heart had been decided.
You needed to get to the church.
You stumbled out to the stables, your body staggering as your brain felt fuzzy and heavy. You probably had a concussion, but right now that wasn't important. You didn't have a horse of your own, you prayed that the one you made it to wouldn't buck you off. The stallion let out a soft nicker, you rubbed its neck, your hand weakly holding onto the mane and you forced your body to mount.
The horse moved a few steps, adjusting to your weight. No saddle, it'll have to do.
You squeezed your legs and held on, the horse moved forward and with your encouragement it began a steady gallop through the trail that led up to the church. The horse was fast and bareback was hard for you to hold on, especially with a head injury. the horse sensed your wavering weight and tried to steady its run.
Over the hill was the church, and the stallion ran you right inside the broken down doors. You heard loud shouting, men fighting, and the sight that came to view was horrible.
Most of the men were down, unconscious, and Graydon was shooting arrows at Kurt, who had been disappearing in puffs of smoke, reappearing in other places. His yellow eyes blazed and he hissed at Graydon, landing kicks and punches to the larger man. You shouted at them to stop, but your voice fell on deaf ears.
The torches the other men had been carrying caught the tapestries and the flames eagerly began to eat the fabric and grow. The horse reared up, and you fell off its back as it ran out of the church. You sat up and cried out at Graydon, "Stop it! Don't hurt him! Can't you see what you're doing?!"
Kurt's teleporting soon became predictable, Graydon memorized the pattern and he shot an arrow into Kurt's leg right as he reappeared again. Kurt let out a strangled cry, stumbling from the beams and to the ground. By now the flames had consumed the entire room, smoke became thick and Graydon towered over Kurt's body. His eyes reflecting the fire, his face red and his hair a mess. He looked like the devil now, the fire only adding to his hellish desires to smite out Kurt's existence.
"Die, I cast you down to the pits of Hell where you belong!" Graydon tore a blade from his sheath, raising it above his head. But Kurt's eyes were focused on the burning wood above him, and he managed to teleport from that spot right as the wooden beams fell from the ceiling. Kurt reappeared by you, his fuzzy arms wrapped around yours as he teleported you outside. The last thing you saw in the church were the large beams falling onto Graydon's body, crushing him.
When you reappeared outside, you saw Kurt was hurt from the fight. He had two arrows in his body, one in his leg and one in his back, several lacerations from fighting the others and some parts of him had been burned. He let out a deep cough and he laid beside you, unresponsive.
"Kurt?? Kurt! Wake up!" You shook him, gently at first but it became more frantic when you noticed his lack of response. "Please get up!" You felt tears prick your eyes, your head swiveled around, looking for anyone to help. You weren't sure what to do, you felt hopeless. After you thought he was gone, his tail twitched at your side, gently curling up around your thigh weakly.
"Kurt??" You asked quickly, glancing down at him. You could see the exhaustion on his face, the weakness, but he nodded back. He gave you a weak smile, his yellow eyes soft and pure.
"Liebe..." he whispered back, his hand held yours and he pulled you closer. Your body naturally obeyed and you let your lips find his, both weakly pressing together as the two of you kissed for the first time. It felt so right, his hand cupped your face and his tail wrapped around you, being so weak but loving all at the same time.
You hadn't noticed the other townspeople had been watching from the trees, seeing how gentle and sweet you were to him. They could see that Kurt didn't resemble a creature of Hell like they thought, while he did seem odd looking, he didn't look to be horrific as they predicted. Their imaginations took over and the tall tales took over their logic.
When you broke the kiss, he smiled up at you. "You....came back..." he rasped, he was hurt still, but he was okay. He'd live. That's all you needed to know.
"Of course I came back...I told you I would..." you whispered sweetly, guilt gnawed at your core, "If I hadn't left then..."
Kurt cut you off, shushing you, "Nein, liebe...do not worry...the church can be rebuilt...I am going to be fine. What's another small scar? My fur will cover it anyway." He added, giving you a playful smile.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes, "Oh, Kurt...don't make me laugh right now..." You muttered, some of the onlookers came to aid you in bringing him to the town to get treatment from the doctor there. You knew he'd be okay. The awful stories were debunked and the town appeared to accept him.
You had your love, safe and sound, and the real demon of the town had been snuffed to ash.
Thanks for reading.

You suppose you did it to yourself.
Spencerâs migraines had gotten increasingly worse over the last few months, and after a few consecutive days of hounding him, heâd finally decided to go and see a medical professional about it.
Youâd expected him to come back with news about how his brain stem was too active from how hard he was working himself, or that heâd managed to raise his blood pressure to an unhealthy high from all the stress he was under.
Instead heâd told you that they couldnât find anything physically wrong with him and that heâd been referred to a geneticist to check if the cause of his sudden mind-numbing aching was due to an underlying condition that might have been passed down from his mother.
Heâd come back and forth to you for weeks about his phone calls with the doctor.
How she was helping him with his sleep deprivation.
How she was helping to manage his diet.
How she loved classic literature.
How she and him had spent four consecutive hours on the phone debating over the logistics of a novel they both enjoyed.
You could see the change happening before your eyes, and you werenât the only one either.
âPretty boyâs chipper this morning,â Morgan joins you at the kitchenette, his eyes following Spencer as he takes a seat at his desk with all of the enthusiasm of a golden retriever puppy whoâd been let off his leash for the first time.
You hum with a nod, focusing your attention on the two cups of coffee you were making, heaping tablespoons of sugar into Spencerâs Doctor Who mug to satisfy his insatiable need for sweetness. âTheyâre reading a book together,â
âReally?â You respond to Morganâs raised eyebrow with a short nod and another hum.
âThoughts in Solitude by Thomas Merton, apparently she finds the religious analysis âfascinatingâ,â You canât help the small contemptment that seeps into your tone as you reiterate what Spencer had told you to Morgan, and you can practically feel his pitiful gaze as he watches you make your coffee.
âIâve heard of that book before from somewhere,â
âI tried to get him to read it a few months ago,â You take a sip of your coffee at the end of your sentence, barely able to taste it over the scolding water but not finding the mind to care.
You leave your conversation with Morgan at that, taking the two mugs in your hands and walking back into the bullpen, placing Spencerâs mug in front of him and walking around the cluster of desks to reach your own.
Heâs sure he doesnât need to verbalise it, but Morgan feels increasingly sorry for your situation, noting how you skirt past Spencerâs âthank youâ without a response as you bury your head in your files.
he canât imagine how much the fact that Spencer had seemingly formed a crush on his geneticist ripped you apart.
And the worst part? Heâd never met her in person.
All scientific laws of attraction be damned, Spencer Reid had fallen in love with someone heâd never met in the span of three months, and you weâre resigning yourself to sit on the sidelines and watch as the man you had been in love with for six years find the happiness that you longed for with somebody else.
How you managed to keep up your facade you didnât know.
Youâd offered him change for the pay phone heâd call her from when he was running short. Youâd let him rant to you about her opinions on a novel that you had failed to get him to read. You made excuses for him to leave the office early so that he could spend his time on the phone with her.
You were the one that sent him to the hospital and caused him to meet her in the first place.
He never hesitated to remind you of that fact, thanking you vicariously every time he relayed his conversations with the doctor back to you.
As the weeks progressed he stopped calling her that. She wasnât âthe doctorâ anymore. She was Maeve.
He didnât call you by your first name and youâd known him for ten times longer that heâd known her. He didnât even call Morgan by his first name and those two were practically brothers.
And that part was probably what hurt the most.
Maeve.
A name of Irish origin meaning âintoxicatingâ. How fitting.
Apparently the Irish goddess of love and desire was named Maeve. You could see the glimmer in Spencerâs eye that told you his Maeve was just as important as the mythological goddess he was describing.
His Maeve.
âSo why havenât you two actually gone on a date or anything?â You take a sip from the mug in your hands, swivelling your chair back and forth with your foot as a pivot. âYouâve been talking for what, four months now? Surely itâs about time you actually met her in person,â
âItâs complicated,â Spencer sighs as he collects the loose papers he was working on in a pile. He didnât want to divulge Maeveâs issues without her permission.
âYouâve been saying that for the last six weeks Spencer,â You roll your eyes as you discard your half-empty mug on the table. âIf I didnât know any better iâd say youâre putting it off,â
Spencer shook his head adamantly at your suggestion. You couldnât have been more wrong. He did want to meet her. Desperately. Heâd wanted to meet her since the end of their first phone call. But he also wanted to keep her safe.
How do you meet up with somebody whoâs hiding from a stalker without endangering them?
âI do want to meet her. Itâs just- sheâs dealing with something personal and itâs put a rift our plans, thatâs all,â
âSo itâs her not wanting to meet up with you then?â You raise an eyebrow at him over your desks.
âLook itâs- You donât get it okay? It was a mutual understanding from both of us.â You can hear Spencerâs tone become more defensive as you spoke, and you raised both of your hands in surrender.
âOkay, iâm sorry for prying-â You ended your apology with a laugh, trying to keep the conversation lighthearted despite feeling your heart deflate in your chest at the way the friendliness his his eyes fizzled out the longer you looked at him.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Spencerâs late to work this morning.
Itâs 8:06 when he finally walks through the glass doors, the coffee you made him stone cold after sitting lamely on his desk for the better part of twenty minutes. He doesnât so much as offer an apology as he picks up the mug and makes his way over to the kitchenette to pour the coffee down the sink.
You follow behind him in a mix of intrigue and a want to refill your own mug, swilling it out with some water as you watch Spencer load a coffee pod into the machine. âPhone call last longer than you expected?â
âHm? Oh- yeah, we were discussing the literary analysis of Annabelle Lee,â Spencerâs demeanour seems to brighten immediately once heâs given an opportunity to discuss the details of his phone call with Maeve, although the beginning of his ramble is quickly cut off by the beeping of the coffee machine.
You wait patiently for his coffee to finish before you begin making yours, raising an eyebrow as Spencer pulls out a regular teaspoon instead of the usual tablespoon heâd incorrectly use to load his coffee with sugar.
Your intrigue only heightened when he pulled a carton of milk from the mini-fridge. Not even normal milk. Soy milk.
âSince when do you drink coffee like a normal person?â
His eyes flickered from his mug to your face as he tipped a single teaspoon of sugar into his drink before replacing the bag back where it came from. âItâs a part of my managed diet, Maeve thinks that my increased sugar intake might be one of the risk factors for my headaches,â
âDid she tell you to put soy milk in it too?â You donât know why you have the urge to be petty, Spencer had long since needed to change his coffee drinking habits for the sake of decreasing his sugar intake and Maeveâs suggestions were beneficial for his health.
It was just the fact that it was her that ticked you off.
âShe did actually, it provides the same amount of riboflavin as cowâs milk, which acts as a soothing agent whilst also helping constrict inflamed blood vessels, but without all of the excess fats in regular milk that might make my migraines more frequent, itâs genius really,â
He thought that her ideas were genius. Him. Mr âI have three PhDs and an IQ of 187â, thought someone elseâs ideas were genius.
Youâre sure that he already knew the benefits of milk alternatives, and yet he attributed the ârevelationâ of what they could do to Maeve. Of course he did.
âWhen was the last time you made a decision for yourself?â The question comes out much harsher than you intend it to, and you can tell by the way Spencer furrows his eyebrows that heâs taken offence to it.
âSorry, that came out wrong,â No it didnât. âIâm just a little surprised that someone as independent as you is so⊠willing to follow blind instructions,â Your attempt at saving yourself half-works, that wrinkle between his eyebrows disappears and you can see that the glimmer in his eyes is returning slowly.
âSheâs a doctor, of course iâm going to follow her suggestions,â
You give him a soft nod as you pick up your mug from under the coffee machine. âYeah, no, that makes sense, itâs just a little surprising is all,â
You donât give him a chance to respond to you before youâre walking away from the kitchenette to retake a seat at your desk, fearing you might say something out of pocket if you continue the conversation any longer.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
You were really pissed off now.
Youâd arrived back in Quantico three days ago, and you were still piled up to your neck in paperwork.
Maybe you wouldâve had it finished by now if Spencer would stop talking about the fact that he was â-finally going to meet Maeve in person,â.
You had half the mind to snap and tell him to just shut up, although by the saving grace of Morgan you thankfully didnât have to.
âReid, give their poor ears a break man,â Your thankful for Morgan in times like this. He knew you were knee-deep in your feelings for Spencer, and he knew that every time Spencer so much as spoke Maeveâs name it carved another hairline fracture in your heart.
You were close to shattering, and Morgan could tell.
âOh- right, sorry,â Spencer offered you an awkward smile which you mirrored back at him.
âItâs alright, donât worry about it,â You shake your head in a polite dismissal of his apology before turning your head back down towards your files.
âI take it youâre nervous then?â Alexâs voice cut through the beginning of an awkward tension between the two of you as she entered to bullpen with a cup of coffee in hand.
âWell- I mean- you knowâŠâ Upon being unable to find a sufficient response, Spencer resorts to shrugging into his chair. âI just donât want to ruin anything,â
âBut arenât you curious what she looks like?â Alex raises an eyebrow with concern like Spencer was he son going on his first ever date.
âit doesnât matter what she looks like I mean- sheâs already the most beautiful girl in the world to me itâs just-â
You donât stick around to hear the rest of the conversation.
You sudden upheaval from your desk stops Spencerâs sentence as his eyes follow you across the bullpen and out of the glass doors, followed shortly by Morgan as he jogs after you.
âHey- Wait up a minute-â Morgan catches your arm before you have a chance to get in the elevator, and as you turn your eyes towards him he can see the beginnings of tears forming in your eyes.
âI donât know how much longer I can do this..â
Morgan can do nothing more than pull your head into his shoulder and wrap his arms tightly around your back with a soft mutter of your name. âI know kid, I knowâŠâ
âHe thinks sheâs the most beautiful girl in the world,â You turn your head up from Morganâs shoulder to meet his eyes, a single stray tear cascading down your cheek, illuminated under the florescent lights. âHow am I supposed to compete with that..?â
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Incidentally, Spencerâs date with Maeve didnât end up happening. Conflicting work schedules or something, you werenât really listening.
Maybe all of your subconscious thoughts had leaked into reality and finally gave you momentary release from the crushing defeat of having Spencer go on a date with someone else.
Maybe it was them punishing you further by forcing you to sit through him rant about the book sheâd left him at the front of the restaurant.
It didnât help that you already had a headache that made it feel like your eye sockets were being kicked by an annoying kid sat behind you on an aeroplane, leaving a dull ache in itâs wake and making you just want to bury yourself in a hole and hibernate.
âAnd right at the back she wrote âLove is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone; we find it with anotherâ itâs a quote from-â
âThomas Merton. Yeah, I know.â You dig the knuckle of your left thumb into cavity of your eye socket over your closed eyelid, hoping to relieve some of the tension thatâs lingering there and disrupting your thoughts.
âThomas Mertonâs âLove and Livingâ specifically,â If Spencer noticed your discomfort he didnât acknowledge it. âItâs a collection of his essays on the importance of love to live, so for her to have written it specifically knowing that I would read it means-â
âReid.â
Your tone stops him from continuing any further, and he blinks at you with that sweet puppy-dog expression that would usually have you weak at the knees.
âNo offence, but I donât care about your over-the-phone girlfriend or the quote that she wrote in your book.â Your tone carried a harshness to it that Spencer wasnât used to hearing from you. It was cold and detached and not like you at all.
âAre- you okay?â
âNo, Reid, Iâm not, and if youâd bothered to ask about my life every once in a while instead of using me like a human diary maybe you wouldâve realised that already.â
You practically slam your file closed as you speak, pushing your chair out from your desk and leaving him sat in shock at your sudden change in attitude.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
After a bit of introspection, Spencer did realise that he hadnât been treating you very fairly. He hadnât asked you how your life had been in 3 months and 26 days. Four of those days heâd spent in damn near radio silence. He wasnât sure he could take it much longer.
He missed you.
It was a bit ironic considering you sat directly opposite him for almost eight hours a day five days a week, but after youâd snapped at him last week, he truly realised just how much of his day he spent socialising with you, and just how much he missed talking to you.
So he decided that he was going to apologise.
And what better form of an apology for being dismissive of your feelings than putting a personal effort into something for you.
He walked into the office that morning with a leather bound copy of The Parasite by Arthur Conan Doyle stored cautiously in his messenger bag, pages scrawled with annotations from Spencerâs own reading of the novel that he hoped would be insightful to you as you read it yourself.
Heâd remembered you saying how much you wanted to read the novel a few months ago, so he figured giving it to you as a personalised apology would show that he really did care about you and had listened to what youâd told him.
âAre you busy?â Spencer asks, though he already knows the answer to the question.
Heâd been watching you from the other side of the room all morning, hoping for a moment or two of eye contact to see if there was a possibility of a conversation. A look from one to the other; even a smile wouldâve been enough to make him feel validated and content. And he would have been willing to settle for that.
But you never looked up. Not even once.
"Mhm," You continue to not spare Spencer so much as glance as he speaks, turning over the page of the file you were working through.
âCan I take a minute of your time?â He tried to catch your gaze again, only to be met by your continued focus on your work. The last thing he wanted to do was disrupt your work routine, but he also knew that he needed to talk to you sooner rather than later.
âPlease,â he said softly. âItâs important.â
You exhale heavily through your nose, exasperation written clearly in your expression as you leave your pen as a page marker to close the manilla folder on your desk. You turn your head upwards, raising an eyebrow and opening your hands to agitatedly indicate for him to continue.
You wouldnât lie and say that it didnât hurt being so openly cold towards Spencer, but youâd reached a breaking point, and you couldnât bare sitting idly on the sidelines and letting him tear your heart to pieces anymore.
Spencer was relieved that youâd granted him your attention, but the look you directed towards him was enough to make him wince. You werenât looking at him through a lens of indifference but rather cold, hard disappointment.
He took a deep breath, trying to gather the right words for what he had to say.
âIâm sorry,â
He seemed almost breathless as he spoke, like heâd just finished a tangent about something without taking the time to breathe. âI know that Iâve been spending too much time talking about Maeve and not enough paying attention to you.â
"You donât say," You mutter the words under your breath to yourself, but your sure that Spencer heard you based on the way his eyebrows knit and the small gleam of hope in his eyes dwindles to barely a flicker.
He was trying not to react to your snide comment. Spencer knew that your tone didnât leave any room to deny your meaning. Heâd been selfish in talking exclusively about his relationship and hadnât realised how it was affecting you.
âIâm sorry,â Spencer repeated. âYou mean so much to me and I havenât been showing that.â
"Thank you," Your thanks are polite but dismissive, like you were acknowledging his apology but choosing to not actually consider it as one, and it left Spencer with an expression of clear frustration.
He was used to being able to read your facial expressions and emotions in the past, but now you were just an unreadable wall of disappointment. He had hoped the apology would've been enough, but it was clear that you werenât going to let him off that easily.
Time to pull out the last resort.
He bent over and fumbled with his bag for a few moments before pulling out the novel heâd brought with him face up.
âI uh⊠got you this,â He holds out the book towards you. âYou said you wanted to read it right? So I uh.. annotated it for you to make it more enjoyable,â
You take the novel from him with a raised eyebrow as your eyes scan the cover, a clear flicker of confusion in your expression.
Spencer noticed your expression and furrowed his own brow in confusion. You didn't seem to recognise the book. In fact, the look on your face made him wonder whether you even knew this book existed at all before this moment.
âI hope you⊠like it,â he said nervously. âI was going off what you'd talked about before. You mentioned the book was a classic?â
"I⊠have never seen this book in my life,â
âB-ButâŠâ Spencer knew this was going to be awkward at some point, but he'd hoped not this early into the conversation. He could feel his cheeks burning from embarrassment, and it was only getting worse as he searched your face for an answer to this awkward situation.
âI⊠swear I heard you mention it once.â
You give him a short shake of your head and a pursed smile of awkward thanks as you put the book down on your desk.
Spencer looked away, embarrassed beyond belief. He hadn't even been able to deliver an apology properly, let alone make you feel special like he'd originally intended to.
How had he gotten it wrong? He had an eidetic memory for godâs sake.
When you put the book down on your desk, his eyes flicked back to the book. He'd spent almost 4 hours annotating and researching it and now it felt like all that effort had been wasted.
If you hadnât mentioned it then who had? Someone mustâve. Someone he obviously equated with you to the point where heâd somehow managed to override his eidetic memory to mix the two of you up.
It takes him a few moments before you hear him whisper out a name under his breath, the palm of his hand dragging down the front of his face at the realisation.
"MaeveâŠ"
The mention of her name had your eyes flickering away from the leather cover and right back to Spencerâs face, awkwardness completely rid of your features and replaced with a mix of negativity that Spencer wasnât sure he wanted to dig into.
"Are you serious?" Your words come out less questioningly and more accusatory, and you hold the book up so that he can see it once more, the gold embossing on the cover glinting under the overhead light as if to only taunt Spencer further for his mistake.
âYou apologise for continuously disregarding me for your girlfriend by giving me a book that she showed interest in?â
You could see Spencer's face fall as your words sink in.
He hadn't even taken the time to think over what he was apologising with. It was almost as if his brain automatically just reverted back to his girlfriend's interests as an escape from dealing with his own guilt and sadness.
"Damn it," he whispered to himself. And in that moment he realised he'd just committed the biggest crime someone could make when trying to apologise.
âLike you constantly flaunting your relationship in my face verbally wasnât bad enough.â
"I'm sorry I-" he says again, voice teeming with sincerity and guilt.
"You are truly and utterly unbelievable Spencer Reid." Your words didnât carry anger as much as they did disappointment, and he could see the astoundment in your eyes as you pushed your chair backwards to stand, dropping the book straight in the trash bin by your desk before walking off.
Itâs where it belongs; Right alongside the small sliver of respect you still had for him.
Spencer could've said so much more: he could've admitted how ashamed he felt for his careless actions and he could've apologised again and again a million times if it meant you'd stick around and give him a chance to make it up to you.
But you had already made it clear that you weren't in the right state of mind to discuss this matter further.
The best thing he could do now was give you space as he watched you walk away, a deep pain in his heart that slowly ate him alive from the inside.
Heâd well and truly fucked up.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
âOh sweetheart, whatâs wrong?â You were bordering tears by the time you reached Garciaâs office, unintentionally interrupting her lunch break with Alex in the process, though the two seemed to care less about the interruption and more about the fact that you liked like you were about to cry your eyes out.
You take in a sharp breath through your nose as you try to tape together the cracks in your composure, although with every one you seal three more seem to appear in itâs place.
âI-â You can barely get the first word out before the tears start rolling down your face, and Alex immediately stands from her seat to guide you to sit in her place.
âHey, youâre alright, slowly,â Alexâs hands find your shoulders and rub reassuring circles against your shirt. The slow breath you take in doesnât stop the flood of tears thatâs blurring your vision, and you only manage to get out a single word, but itâs all the two need to understand whatâs got you so overwhelmed.
âSpencer-â
âI swear I am two seconds away from smacking that boy over the back of the head,â You can hear the clear frustration in Garciaâs tone. âSurely heâs got to realise how much heâs hurting you by now,â
âHe does⊠I lashed out at him and then left to come hereâŠâ You rub your eyes with the back of your hand alongside a small sniffle, trying to rid your vision of itâs blurriness from your tears.
âGood, the boy deserves to have some sense knocked into him,â You appreciate Garcia taking your side, but you canât help that small lingering feeling of guilt that invades the back of your mind.
âHeâs just in love, itâs not his faultâŠâ The words almost physically pain you to say. The verbal acceptance that Spencer Reid was indeed in love with somebody. Somebody who wasnât you.
âThat doesnât mean that he should be disregarding you though sweetheart,â Alexâs tone is soft and almost maternal, and your sure that it doesnât help how emotional you are.
Garciaâs right hand reaches forward to straighten out the collar of your shirt, unintentionally crumpled as you try to wipe your face of your emotions. âYouâre his friend, and you have been his friend for longer than heâs known this girl heâs talking to, itâs not fair for him to completely push you to the side,â
Garcia was right. Itâs not fair. Nothing about how Spencer had been treating you since heâd started speaking to Maeve had been fair. And you were done making excuses for the boy just because you knees deep in your feelings for him.
You didnât deserve to feel guilty. You didnât deserve to feel bad for lashing out at Spencer for apologising for not showing interest in your life by further proving just how little heâd actually payed attention to you. You didnât deserve to cry because he was the most stupid genius to ever live and couldnât see that you were hopelessly in love with him. You didnât deserve to suffer by his hand.
It wasnât fair.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
âMaeveâs been kidnapped.â
You have to consciously suppress the small voice in the back of your head that celebrates the possibility that she might not be a part of Spencerâs life for much longer. Itâs a horrible thought. You should never wish ill upon anyone, no matter how much you internally despised them.
Still, that part of you that was still petty, that was still infuriated with Spencer and Maeve, wanted you to tell Spencer straight to his face that you werenât going to help him find her and that it was karma for how heâd treated you.
But you werenât a bad person.
As much as you might hate her, she was still important to Spencer.
âI have a wealth of knowledge i should be applying to this case, but- i canât focus on anything for more than four seconds at a time⊠which makes me the dumbest person in the room-â Spencerâs eyes are full of desperation as they scan across your teammates.
âSo please help me⊠Please help me find herâŠâ The desperation in his voice is heartbreaking, the remnants of tears staining his face as he explains the context of the situation through broken sentences.
âWe donât have an official case, so weâll be working on personal time,â Hotchâs voice is much quieter than youâre used to. Softer, more considerate. âDoes anybody want to leave?â
You can feel his eyes linger on you as he asks the question, and you subconsciously purse your mouth into a tight line to stop yourself from impulsively pulling out of the investigation.
You might be detrimentally frustrated with him, but you did want to help. Even if it ultimately resulted in your downfall.
Hotch gave you a short nod before turning to the rest of the team. âGood, letâs get to work,â
It didnât take Garcia very long to track Maeve down, mostly attributed to her unique name and specialised job.
Dr. Maeve Donovan, a professor at Mendel University who took a sabbatical leave 10 months ago.
The group split into different groups once theyâd found her, JJ and Morgan heading off to a loft her parents owned, Alex and Rossi heading to the lab she used to work at, and you and Hotch, accompanied by Spencer, going to speak to Maeveâs parents.
âReid,â Garciaâs tone is soft as she looks over her laptop screen towards him as he begins to stand from the conference table. âI have a picture of her, do you want to know what she looks like?â
âNo,â
Spencerâs answer is immediate, joined by a shake of his head.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
You and Spencer watched from behind the one way mirror as the interview progressed.
Theyâd last spoken to Maeve five days ago. Her mother had cancer. She was also a geneticist. They were suspicious of her ex fiancĂ© Bobby.
Her fiancé?
You can see Spencerâs face drop at the words despite the low lighting in the room, and you canât help but furrow your eyebrows yourself.
She had a fiancé?
Spencer practically storms out of the office after the questioning is over, and Hotch has to remind him to calm down as they reach the apartment of Robert Putnam with Morgan and Rossi in tow.
When the door opens the five of you arenât greeted by Robert, but rather a girl, a girl who looked very confused.
You invite yourselves inside at the girlâs recognition that Robert was inside the apartment.
âAnd who are you?â
âIâm Diane, his girlfriend,â She raised an eyebrow as the five of you looked around, confusion cut short as Robert rounds the corner questioning the sudden voices coming from his living room.
âHey babe whatâs-â
âRobert Putnam, FBI weâd like to-â Spencerâs voice cuts him off harshly as he rushes to speak, although he stops his sentence halfway as a flicker of recognition falls across his features and his anger turns to dread.
âHey, I know you,â Robert doesnât have the time to say anything else to Spencer before Hotch forces him out of the room, shutting the door behind him to speak to Spencer privately whilst you Morgan and Rossi remained inside.
Hotch returned a few minutes later. Spencer didnât.
You end up taking Hotchâs place as you push yourself out of the apartment with a small âexcuse me,â to follow after Spencer as he walks out of the apartment building.
âSpencer- wait up a minute-â
He doesnât stop at your call, and youâre practically running down the stairs by the time you get to him, already out of the front doors of the apartment building.
âHey-â You take a second to catch your breath before turning your eyes back towards him again. âAre you alright?â
You could see the flicker of confusion in his eyes as he met your gaze.
The last time you spoke to him you threw away any remnant of your friendship with him in the bin alongside the book heâd given you, and now here you were, chasing after him to make sure that he was okay.
âWhy did you agree to help?â
Your face falls from concern to surprise at his question, and he takes it as a sign to continue.
âI know that you donât like her, so why are you here?â You could see the beginnings of tears forming in his eyes, clearly overwhelmed with how the investigation was going.
âSheâs important to you Spencer. Like her or not I care about you. So therefore I care about her,â You donât think as you speak, words spilling out of your mouth with no conscious filter.
âIâm sorry.â Spencerâs apology elicits a sigh from your mouth, and you shake your head softly at him.
âForget it, letâs focus on getting Maeve home safe alright?â He obliges to your request with a purse of his lips and a small nod, turning his eyes towards the ground.
âWhatâre you thinking about?â His eyes fall on yours once more at your question, round with confusion and glistening with the starts of tears. âI can see it in your face, youâre calculating something in your head,â
He exhales through his mouth in a small laugh. Youâd always been able to figure him out, and not just because you were a profiler.
â2,412 hours,â His tone is uncertain, mixed between gratefulness for you observance and something far more upsetting. âThatâs how long Maeve and I have contacted each other counting letters and phone callsâŠâ
âThatâs what-â You take a second to do the calculation in your head. â100 days?â
â100.5âŠâ He runs his hand backwards through his hair, pressing his eyes closed like heâs afraid tears will spill from them if he doesnât. âWhat if thatâs all I get?â
âIt wonât be SpencerâŠâ
âYou donât know that-â
âYes Spencer, I do,â You have to consciously suppress the sigh that threatens to leave your mouth, pushing your lingering distaste for Maeve down with it. âShe is going to be fine, I promise,â
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Turns out Maeveâs ex fiancĂ© wasnât the stalker. In fact, he was being stalked himself, and whilst JJ and Garcia were looking over the images posted to Robert whilst him and Maeve were still together they discovered something that changed the entire direction of the investigation.
Maeveâs face had scribbled out in eyeliner.
You and the team spent the next thirty minutes rebuilding the profile from the bottom up.
âCelebrity stalkers are usually non violent,â
âYou want to tell that to John Lennon Rossi?â Spencer looked up from his lap towards the group at the table, having separated himself from the group to sit on a sofa lining one of the walls so he couldnât bias the profile.
It wasnât going too well.
âWhat was it that Mark David Chapman said after he shot him?â Spencer stood from his seat, anger flaring in his nostrils. ââIt was like all of my nobody-ness and all of his somebody-ness collidedâ,â
You could hear the rise in his tone as he worked himself up the more he spoke.
âSpencer-â
âMaeve is somebody. And this- bitch is a nobody.â
âSpencer.â
Spencer caught your gaze, and immediately fizzling out of his eyes and replaced with guilt. âIâm sorry- I canât be very helpful right now I should leave-â
âYes you can Reid, you have 100.5 days of communication with this girl and a recall everything verbatim,â Morganâs gaze is entirely concerned with Spencerâs outburst.
âThereâs too much of it, and I canât sort through any of it clearly-â Spencer is clearly on the edge of breaking, and you can tell heâs not going to be able to keep his composure for much longer.
âThen pick one of us and weâll go through it with you,â Hotch leaned his elbows against the table, his voice again portraying that soft, parental tone that said he knew how overwhelmed Spencer was getting.
Spencer didnât even say anything, his eyes just silently flickered over to you and you knew you couldnât refuse him.
You return his silence as you get up from your seat and pat your hand on his shoulder for the two of you to exit the room together.
Time to torture yourself for the sake of Spencerâs wellbeing.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Diane Turner, a research assistant working for her PhD in the same lab as Maeve. A student who had her thesis rejected because it contained a heavy sample bias that included both of her parents.
It took a while, but Garcia eventually managed to track down a loft that was owned under Dianeâs parentsâ names, less than 10 minutes away from Maeveâs apartment.
âTake your gun and vest off,â Dianeâs voice is harsh through the receiver attached to the front of the building, and Spencerâs eyes flickered up from the silk blindfold in his hands to the metal box.
He doesnât question the orders as he immediately begins stripping the vest from his torso, dropping it and his gun on the floor.
âNow come in alone.â
âSpencer.â You call out to him as he reaches for the door handle, and he gives you that look that makes your stomach do flips in your torso. Except this time itâs not that pleasant fluttery feeling, but instead an existential dread at the fact that he might not walk out of the building alive.
âIâll be okay,â He gives you a nod of reassurance as he pushes the door open, and you find yourself clenching your hands around your gun to stop yourself from following after him.
The six of you wait outside for what feels like hours, and you lean back and forth on the balls of your feet as you become increasingly restless with the situation.
Then, a gunshot.
And a second.
And your heart drops in your chest.
Youâre not entirely present as you rush into the building with the team following behind you, gun raised at your eyes.
Spencer had to be okay. He had to. He was going to be fine. You were going to walk into that room and he was going to be perfectly fine.
You hoped Maeve was alright too. As much as she was unintentionally causing you literal hell, you knew that she meant everything to Spencer.
You knew that heâd choose her over anything. Heâd choose her over you.
And right now you donât care. You just want him to be okay.
You force the door open to the loft with your foot, gun pointed straight ahead at the first person you see.
âStay back-â Spencer practically shouts from where heâs half lying on the floor, right hand clutching tightly at his left bicep, trails of blood cascading down his fingers and onto the floor.
âStay back stay back donât shoot-â
You let out an audible sigh at the fact that Spencer wasnât critically harmed, although upon a whimper of his name from further across the room you turn your eyes up to the noise.
And you finally meet the girl thatâs caused you ten months of hell. Held at gunpoint.
That small voice in the back of your head tells you that this might be your chance to finally rid her from your life, to let her succumb to whatever Diane had planned and leave Spencer to you.
But you take one look at the desperation in her eyes and any loathing that remained in your mind immediately fizzled out.
It wasnât her fault. Of course it wasnât. She was just a girl that happened to be in love.
âDiane,â Spencer pushes himself to stand, and you can see the pain in his face as he does. âThereâs still a way out of this,â
âYou never wanted me. Never!â Diane pushes the gun sheâs holding hard against Maeveâs neck, and you can see her eyes squeeze closed as she attempts to keep herself from crying. âYou lied!â
âI didnât.â
Spencer shakes his head adamantly, and you glance over at Hotch as you spread across the back of the room, guns raised in Dianeâs direction. âDiane, I offered you a deal, and you can still take it,â
âMe for her. Let me take her place,â
You only have a view of the back of Spencerâs head now, but you can tell by the tone of his voice that his expression is a pure display of desperation, one that youâre happy you canât see because youâd lose your composure in an instant.
âYou would do that?â Dianeâs question is angry and accusatory, tears rolling down her face as she presses the gun against Maeveâs neck once more.
Spencer nods with no threat in his tone. âYes,â
âYou would kill yourself for her?â
âYes.â
You practically feel your heart stop.
âThomas Merton,â Maeveâs voice is almost exactly as you imagined it to be. Soft, smooth and, as Spencer had called it all those months ago, âdipped in honeyâ.
âWhoâs Thomas Merton?â Dianeâs tone contrasts Maeveâs tenfold, pitchy, uneven and overrun with manic anger.
âHe knows,â You can see Maeveâs eyes flicker, and you assume that they meet Spencerâs as his shoulders drop. âHe knows.â
âWhoâs Thomas Merton?â Diane shakes Maeve in her grasp as if to intensify the urgence of her question, and you tighten your grip on your gun in instinctual response. âWho is he?â
âHeâs the one thing you can never take from us,â Maeveâs voice is confident and defiant despite the clear tears in her eyes.
Thomas Merton couldâve been something between Spencer and you.
âNo.â
You can see a clear change in Dianeâs expression at Maeveâs words, and she lowers the gun from Maeveâs head only to hold it up against her own, staring directly into Spencerâs eyes.
âWait-â
Spencer barely has time to shout the word before the gun fires, and you flinch at the sound as you watch Maeve and Diane both drop to the floor, dark red blood pooling around the two.
You can feel the tension in the room as everyone computes what just happened, guns lowering slowly as their eyes lock onto the two women on the floor.
Youâre not focused on that. Youâre focused on the tightness of Spencerâs shoulders as he takes sharp breaths in and out of his nose.
The way he seems to forget about the bullet wound in his arm as his legs give out underneath him.
The way a sob that leaves his mouth despite the fact that he tries to muffle it with his hand.
The way that Spencer broke.
He's crying. Big, heaving, heart-wrenching sobs.
His shoulders are trembling.
His hands are shaking.
His head is hanging downwards so that his hair is covering his face.
You approach him slowly, kneeling down at his side and placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.
His eyes slowly shift from Maeve, his sobs only seeming to amplify as he meets your gaze. His eyes are red and closely with tears, his cheeks running hot and his lips trembling.
You donât speak, knowing that youâll break if you do. Instead, you guide his head into your shoulder and let him crumble in your arms, grieving the loss of the love of his life.
Youâre sure youâre going to cry yourself to sleep when you get home, but right now, you needed to be strong. For him.
âIâm so sorry-â Spencer speaks through broken sobs as you hold him, the rest of the team moving to secure the scene.
âShh,â You shake your head against his softly, rubbing the palm of your hand up and down his back as you let him cry until he physically couldnât anymore.
âI treated you so horribly-â He pulls away from your shoulder to look into your eyes once more. âIâm so sorry- Please donât leave meâŠâ
You purse your lips into a line, your expression full of so many emotions Spencer canât distinguish any of them.
âIâm not going anywhere,â You pull his head back into your shoulder, leaning your head against his. âI promiseâŠâ

so, you've heard shows be recommended because they had gay characters. you don't really know what they're actually about though, and don't know if they'd be something you'd be into and are worried about spoilers. here's spoiler free plot summaries of em!
The Owl House
The Owl House starts out as a typical teenage girl goes into a fantasy realm story, but with a twist. Actions have consequences. The protagonist is a girl named Luz Noceda, who was being sent to a camp to make her behave normally by her mother after causing too much trouble at school. She ends up finding a place she's always dreamed of: a fantasy world. A world where everyone's so much weirder than she is. And she thinks, maybe if I don't belong out there, maybe people will like me here. Maybe I can be special here.
It's a story about found family, propaganda, erased history, living with disability, religious trauma, and neurodivergence. It's fundamentally a show about people who's brains work differently finding each other and making a family that treats them right. Definitely my favorite of the ones on this list. It's about people who've been oppressed being pissed about it and about finding yourself again after giving up on everyone around you for so long. It's basically a show about being a minority and trying to be understood and to understand yourself in the process. It's about growing up neurodivergent and how isolating it feels and figuring yourself out. It's about repairing broken relationships and parents who fuck up. And it's just. Such a love letter to anyone who was the weird kid in school. It's sad and heartbreaking and also so hopeful, and it's wonderful.
Content warnings: Abuse, Death, Grief, Animal Death, Suicidal thoughts, Vague suicide attempts, Depression, blink and you'll miss it s/h, body horror, religious trauma
She Ra and the Princesses Of Power
Adora was raised in the Horde since she was a baby, being fed propaganda about how cruel the princesses were. After learning how the horde actually was, though, she defects. But there's one problem. Her best friend, Catra, stays behind. Adora finds a sword that can transform her into She Ra, and might be the key to figuring out who she really is, while Catra takes her place as force captain.
It's a story about abuse, at the end of the day. Adora and Catra were stuck in a golden child and scapegoat dynamic, despite how much they care about each other. This leads to them knowing everything about each other but not understanding it. There's a fundamental disconnect between them, because both of their traumas are completely different. They have complete misconceptions about each other. Even in their initial split, they both have completely different perceptions of what's going on and why the other is upset. It's not a story about magic princesses, it's about the cycle of abuse and what makes it so complicated. Does it have flaws? Yeah. But ultimately I really really enjoy it, and when it does something right it does something RIGHT. Get through season one, it starts kids show-y but it gets very good during later s1.
Content warnings: Abuse (obviously), body horror, gaslighting (and I mean actual gaslighting, not what the Internet thinks gaslighting is), suicide, depression, flashing lights and eyestrain during the finale
Steven Universe
Steven Universe is a sins of the father story. Steven is the son of the leader of the rebel group The Crystal Gems, who's name was Rose Quartz. He navigates the confusion of being half gem and half human, as well as trying to figure out the mess of the rebellion and what his mother left behind. He's constantly in her shadow, for better or for worse.
It's a story about grief. How it impacts relationships, how it taints history, how it impacts family. It has some definite flaws, but ultimately it's about very flawed people who have lost so many people in their life trying to cope with it. Trying to handle what they lost and trying to adjust to life without them. It's about how expectations fuck a kid up and about agency and just a show about complicated relationships in general, at the end of the day. Also, it has some FANTASTIC music.
Content warnings: Grief, Abuse, body horror, very creepy people I don't know how to tag, heavy allegories for homophobia
Nimona
Nimona is a story about a guy who gets framed for murder. His name is Ballister Boldheart, a commoner who hoped to become a knight. It seemed everyone was waiting to watch him fail, so it was no surprise when he was the immediate target. Heavily injured and away from the man he loves, he's left alone trying to figure out a way to prove his innocence- until a strange kid comes into his life. This kids name is Nimona, and while he is intent on proving his innocence, she gave up on being anything but a villain a long time ago.
It's about deconstructing the model minority myth, trans rage, propaganda, and with a healthy dose of "FUCK the police".
Content warnings: Heavy injury, on screen suicide attempt, flashing lights
feel free to add more shows! just remember to keep the summaries as spoiler free as you can and add content warnings!

some ranting
people do not realize how important the representations are and itâs really pissing me off so much. they act like byler wouldnât be a representation just because they donât like the ship.
talking about my own family, theyâve always been homophobic due to religious reasons. i had a friend who was lesbian, and when my mom accidentally heard about that, she forced me to cut ties with her. that was how she was in the past.
we watched st with her multiple times. and whether you accept it or not, the queer characters do make a difference. my mom started to feel empathy towards will. he was always her favorite since s1 but in s4 she wasnât disgusted by his sexuality or anything. she was in fact feeling sad for him.
these characters give the audience the chance to see what these people go through. to see the harshness of their lives and how they canât even accept and love themselves, and for what? for the most basic human feeling ever, love.
i was talking about will and how he changed her with my mom and she told me if i ever experience some kind of things or anything i can always talk to her. that wasnât something my mom from 3 years ago would do.
and now if byler happens, she will see how pure the love can be even if itâs between the same gender. how hard their lives can be. just because you donât like the ship itself it doesnât mean itâs not making a difference for good. and we need these representations in mainstream media like stranger things. you know my mom would not sit down and watch heartstopper or any other queer-based show. itâs important to shove it to their faces. and for byler, mikeâs point of view is gonna be a perfect representation of internalized homophobia since we donât have many shows that have that. itâll perfectly show what people thought was love all along was STILL love but a queer one, which will prove them itâs not any different.

IWTV Fic Recs: Part I
You all pinky promised to listen and not judge đ«¶đ»
Please mind tags for all of these. This list is certainly not exhaustive, just the ten I could find. As Iâve said before, Iâm really bad at keeping track of my favorite fics.
Loustat
Headlock by caxemira - Rated E. 16k words. Human Office Romance AU. Louis works through his internalized homophobia as he develops feelings for what was supposed to be his one time hookup. A little angst, miscommunication. Happy ending.
for years or for hours by dulacourt - Rated E. 29k words. Lestat and Louis work on Louisâ sexual stamina. Thereâs so much kissing and coming in pants in this one. Like, so much kissing. Itâs genuinely very sweet and soft. Lestat and Louisâ religious conflicts are very present.
body of water by peacefrog - Rated E. 19k words. Post-reunion. Getting back together is not as simple as it seems, especially when youâve been through everything Loustat has. Grief is the backdrop until itâs the foreground. Technically this is a sequel to a reunion fic, you are the moon that breaks the night for which i have to howl, which you should also read, but body of water is my favorite.
Nickistat
only us, in this room by accideadly - Rated E. 3k words. Still human, first time, mutual masturbation, sickeningly in love. Iâm a little obsessed with Lestat talking Nicki through it here. So sweet, I love Nickistat, have I mentioned that on this blog before?
Loumand
just the pure virgin light by exsanguinate (transjon) - Rated E. 5k words. Armand experienced genital mutilation as a mortal in the brothel; Louis is determined to find a way to make him feel good regardless. Sounding, prostate orgasm. Emotional + we love to see Loumand actually loving on each other.
Lesmand
two-headed mother by tisiphones - Rated E. 8.6k words. mommy kink mommy kink mommy kink. I cannot stress how much you should not read this fic if you donât want to experience insane psychosexual pseudoincestual bullshit between Armand and Lestat. If you do, however⊠this might be the most sad and pathetic Iâve ever seen these two.
Danstat
break up with your girlfriend, iâm bored by SheOfBadIdeas - Rated E. 3k words. Armand is neglecting Daniel. Lestat and Daniel fuck about it. I like this one because Lestat and Daniel arenât in-love but they do like each other and Lestat is genuinely trying to make him feel better đ„ș Plus, it ends in Armandaniel smut. Which leads us to:
Devilâs Minion
may through december by savorvrymoment - Rated E. 15k words. Ongoing. Human AU, briefly professor/student. Armand and Daniel spend a lot of time being very domestic and even more time not talking about it like they should. I have no words for how good this is. Armand is autistic and traumatized. Daniel is old and navigating his own feelings. Nobody is saying what they really mean. I love how much they love each other. *chefâs kiss đ©đ»âđłđ*
Camboy Molloy by GrayGiantess - Rated E. 39k words. Ongoing. Human AU. Old Daniel is a camboy who, in a probably ill-advised move, agrees to an in-person session with his favorite viewer. And as you can guess, they keep meeting. Sweet moments, sad moments, classic Daniel asshole moments. This was recommended to me recently and Iâm obsessed!
Morning by CloeLockless - Rated M. 2.5k words. Classic Devilâs Minion era. To Danielâs surprise, for the first time, Armand stays the night. Unfortunately, the spontaneity of it all means they donât properly account for the sun⊠(no major character death⊠well outside of vampires being dead sort of inherently.) When Daniel cried, I cried, and not for the reason youâd think based on my blurb. Angsty, sweet.
#What? No danlou? From the infamous danlou lover?#Well unfortunately my favorite all time danlou fics are either:#1) deleted#or 2) the author has one-sided beef with me and out of respect I donât post about their work anymore#I am genuinely so upset to have tried to find my other favorite fic and learn the author deleted all of their work :(#interview with the vampire#iwtv#iwtv fanfiction#loustat#nickistat#Loumand#lesmand#danstat#devilâs minion#Armandaniel

i enjoy ur bird abode thoughts! I was a genuine enjoyer of the show when it was airing, Iâm no die hard fan though and love to see ppls personal takes on the overall story/plot. Im curious if you also would agree or have any thoughts on the impacts The Mouseâs cancellation had on the shows ability to be more than it was? srry im not super eloquent with my words, but basically ur response to that ask got me wondering if part of the reason the show like genuinely wasnt all that ground breaking or unique in the end plot wise (other than the villain faces consequences in the end ig) as far as YA/Teen animation goes, was because of The Mouseâs inability to let the writers flesh out the show before gutting it? i have a negative bias toward The Mouse franchise and obviously dont know anything about how writing a show under the eyes of a franchise that big would work, its just smth that rattles around in my head and wanna know what u think!
Well to an extent, but I think it's much more the effect the studio had on how the owl house started out as rather than it not getting a full season at the end - It didn't escape my noticed that the show was initially announced as being a "horror comedy" when it doesn't really seem like either, especially by the second season, and yeah, the original pitch bible is obviously aiming for that much more than the show proper is as it goes along (and is honestly seems quite a bit more funny, weird, and dark, with an overarching plotline about a giant bug being used to religiously suppress people, eda able to cure her curse by killing luz, and one of the major characters being a teen boy awoken from a sleeping curse who ends up being a weird little bigot because he's from the 13th century, among other things)
(side note, i just noticed they actually specifically describe the thing i assumed the show was gonna be about here. huh.) but ultimately the bulk of the show that was actually made seems very influenced by a writing team that was genuinely interested in making a tropey YA fantasy story rather than just being mandated to. I mean even in what aired you can see the show sort of settle in ways that feel less like studio interference and more like, you know, art students creating their ideal fantasy show, like how King is clearly Eda's roommate who's funny because he looks like and sounds like a little dog despite being an adult man at the beginning but by the end they've made him her adopted sad backstory son who's explicitly a child. While I think a third season would have made the show as it existed better, because they clearly didn't get to finish the plot they wanted to (frankly to the point where some major aspects of the show are a bit confusing, I'm still not sure what a grimwalker is), I don't really fault the show for that but also don't think that hypothetical season (which pretty clearly would have been mostly about the magic school teens going to normal school) would suddenly flip around into something that I personally found interesting and subversive. Nor should it, really; again, it being Queernorm Harry Potter thing is clearly the intended appeal of the show, it's not really a flaw but just not a genre I'm personally interested in when compared to what I initially expected the show to be.
HOWEVER I will say they robbed little weird girls of their representation and that can't be forgiven
#does this not make sense or sound mean. I'm not trying to sound mean. it's fine. you'll like it if queernorm magic school sounds appealing#which it will to many many people#I think what happened is that they were studio mandated to make some changes that weakened the initial idea#but then the writers#all again tumblr art students#were just as interested if not more in making their own played entirely straight YA magic school thing#probably more than i even grasp as according to a friend who loves the show there's like.#cassandra claire harry potter fanfic references I'm not picking up on

GMMTV 2025 - Hot Tops and One Bottom
GMMTV offered up ONE straight show, and even though I'm salty that I didn't get Midnight Museum 2 and despite the current state of the world, I have never been happier to be alive at this exact moment that I'm living in. GMMTV really cemented that it is Disney BL, and said FUCK THEM HETEROS!
As usual, I'm listing what shows I'm most excited to see from GMMTV's annual unveiling, but in order to be fair to the other shows, I will not consider one of the shows in the rankings because I am a Jaidee fan first, and a human second:
Dare You to Death
My boys are giving me ~Murder, Manipulate, Make-Out, and MAYHEM~ so I'm already seated, sat, and sitted. I've always thought Joong should play a character who was insincere and a bit crazy, and Dunk should lean into his haughtiness (emphasis on HOT), so even though all these other shows look great, they aren't JoongDunk trying to solve a murder while trying to not murder each other, and it would be unfair of me to hold that against everyone else. I was going to take whatever I was getting from them, but THIS?! Sorry, to everyone else, but y'all never stood a chance.
#1a - Memoir of Rati
Moment of honesty - Inn and Great are fine as fuck. They are already attractive to begin with, so to put them in a historical drama, of course, I'm going to eat it up. This is a serious piece about political and social tensions which I have no doubts they will carry into getting some awards for it. I was getting worried that these two weren't going to have another show together next year, but not only did GMMTV give them one of the meatier plots, the series also has Aou and Boom in it with an amazing story as well, so this was easily my top choice.
Or at least it was my top choice until . . .
#1b - Ticket to Heaven
Religious trauma aligned with Catholicism is my special brand of queer angst, so this series already has me all the way fucked up. Fourth is such a phenomenal actor and Gemini always acts his ass off, so I know they will have me in a fetal position every single episode clutching my rosary and praying for God's mercy since I'm already in my feelings about this. The heathens in the room better read up on some biblical references because if you thought I was doing too much over a cross necklace in Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo and the praying in The Warp Effect, I Saw You in My Dreams, and Marahuyo Project, block me now because that was only the tip of the religious iceberg.
#2 - Cat for Cash
Although I'm a vegetarian, I'm a Disney villain who strongly dislikes animals, yet even I was happy to see First getting advice from cats on how to make coffee and how to win over Khao. This is the FirstKhao romance we have been waiting for! It looks soft and sincere, and even though the plot involves hearing cats, First as the worst debt collector and Khao as a grieving sad boy are their most realistic characters they have ever played. The series also looks like it's going to make me cry, so thank goodness Satang showed up to make sure I would be emotional about every show GMMTV gives me next year.
#3 - That Summer
On the topic of Satang, I'm shocked that I clicked with this trailer. I was ready to write this off as a Hallmark series due to its plot about a prince with amnesia falling in love with a commoner until the trailer revealed that he doesn't have amnesia, and the commoner knows he is a prince. The trailer situated the problem will come from their class differences plus Mond is kissing a homie (in secret), and since I just asked for more series with sad wet boys on the beach, this show goes at the top for GMMTV delivering me something I didn't know I wanted but a show I definitely needed.
#4 - A Dog and a Plane
Tay and New got me by the throat in 2019 and 2024 with Dark Blue Kiss and Peaceful Property, and even when I wanted to be mad at Cherry Magic, I couldn't because these men always sell the hell out of a ship even when they shouldn't. I'm a Jaidee fan first, and a human second, but I'll throw on some polar bear and whale jammies any day to join the Polcas because Tay and New have not disappointed me once in their joint shows or individual shows. So here I am, super duper excited to see New play a GAY flight attendant (a stereotype I love to see) whose man is trying to screw Pun only for Tay to take the hush money yet still catch feelings AND FLIGHTS! Marc's there too, so it's time I was served openly gay men who are trying to join the mile-high club since it's been over a decade since I got Pedro AlmodĂłvar's I'm So Excited.
#5 - My Romance Scammer
I support marriage equality, but I do not believe in the institution of marriage, so I'm thrilled that GMMTV decided to throw me some gay divorce the same year gay marriage was legalized! Next, I'm getting the odd ball couple of Ohm and Fluke with Fluke being a dummy who falls for the first man who is nice to him, only for Marc to think he has a great relationship with Junior, BUT IT'S ALL A SCAM! I will probably end up defending this show with my life because this is the romcom romcoN I deserve!
Side Quest - Tarot Card Series
The theme for this year's announcement was "Riding the Wave" but it should have been "Wheel of Fortune" because there were a lot of shows about destiny and changing the future, so I'm going to rank those in a quick sub-category:
1) My Magic Prophecy
This is the dynamic I want to see from Jimmy and Sea. Jimmy IS a doctor, so getting a clean-cut smarmy version of him will pair so well with muscular Sea being a jerk. I was going to make a quirky comment about how they can now see the future as a reference to Last Twilight, but I'm still salty about that show, so I'll just be happy for them and THIS show.
2) Head 2 Head
I'm excited for the Only Boo kids because I think they should've gotten the My Love Mix-Up remake since I think they do well with being complete opposites that make perfect sense being together. This is also how I found out that Surf from I Saw You in My Dream is now with GMMTV.
So although it was awkward to realize GMMTV had acquired another BL boy under my chismosa nose (am I slipping?), it's nice to see the company staying on brand as Disney BL in its attempt to capture all the Pokemon Avengers BL Boys.
3) Wu
Since I've been watching High School Frenemy through my dash, I know plenty of people will be ecstatic to see Nani and Sky play soulmates, again (because High School Fremeny is gay af!), but I'm showing up because I got the red bracelets of destiny tying the boys together!
The trailers this year were surprisingly lax on the colors, so I'm taking what I can get how I get it. Bring me the RED STRING OF FATE!
4) MU-TE-LUV
This is Club Sapan Fine with a different name so it's going to be campy and messy. But do I think GMMTV will handle fems well? No. Am I pressed about it? Also, no. Because I actually watch AND enjoy Club Sapan Fine, so if GMMTV wants to try its hand at wild wacky camp in an anthology-style series, I'm down to clown, at least for the queer episodes that is.
5) Melody of Secrets
This was originally going to be number three on my Tops List, but as the trailer continued, I got more confused. Then, Force's face blurred and it looked like he got snatched by a demon, so I got scared. Like real scared. I don't eff with los espookys, so I'll be watching this show with the lights on and my Care Bear squad to protect me.
Honorable Mentions
I watch ALL GMMTV queer shows (and even the ones that only I think are queer), so I'll still enjoy something about these shows, but they were just lacking that special razzle dazzle:
Burnout Syndrome
Director Nuchy. Gun in black lipstick. Gun being a sex worker. Off being an asshole. Thor. Poly(?). This should have been my Holy Grail, but I can't believe the show will give me a proper love conflict when OffGun are a branded pair. Also, Nuchy gave me ToddBlack, who I will NEVER be over, so even though I know she can and will give me *THE* toxic couple to root for above all other toxicitos, unless these two are about to drown each other in that bathtub and play Olympic-levels of mind games with each other, I'm reserving my excitement until it airs.
Me and Thee
A soap-opera loving mafioso. Pond in suits with slicked-back hair. Phuwin being beautiful. Santa looking delicious. Est back in his Naughty Babe assistant mode. Perth. COLORS! Just like Burnout Syndrome, on paper it looks like something I would devour, but a third of that trailer was Pond and Phuwin in a bathtub, and in my Michelle Visage voice, "stop relying on that body" even if that's the biggest reason I'll be showing up to watch.
Whale Store
Milk licked cat food off of Love's finger, and I fear this might be too lesbian for me. I don't kink shame, and I'm always down to eat a girl out go down, but cat food? Really, sis? On top of that, this felt like a JittiRain series with Love's character clearly hiding something that is going to hurt Milk's character, then the side couple was crying and making everything awkward. I support the lesbians. I support queer rights AND wrongs. I'll be repeating this even as I'm watching it.
Boys in Love
GMMTV was smart putting all the new kids in a show with Papang x Podd as the little older romance crumbs to keep us satisfied for the time being, but that's also why I'm being petty. If this is the stepping stone for Papang and Podd to be leads for GMMTV 2026, then I'll take what I can get, but I feel like Oliver Twist asking for more porridge, when I should already be getting a damn buffet!
Love You Teacher
This show almost had me in the first half. Sam's character was giving me everything. The premise was solid. Perth was an already gay man in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend. Things were going well even with the accident. Then, the show brought on the real plot --- seven-year-olds. JesĂșs Cristo. It was a lovely time up until then, and now, just like the cat food, I'm realizing new things about myself and my boundaries on a random Tuesday morning, and I don't like it.
Girl Rules
This is the female version of Only Friends saran wrapped in women's empowerment. No me gusta pero lo voy a ver because I support queer wrongs even when they are oh-so-very wrong.
The Love of Siam: The Musical
What. The. Fuck. But also, sign me up!
Dishonorable Mention - Only Friends 2: Dream On
I've reached new heights in my pettiness because this show is in Petty Prison before it even airs. My blog is a living record of how badly I wanted Minx Mix and Flirty Fluke in the first season of Only Friends. It was the only thing I could think about; then, I ended up hating the first season, so I counted my blessings that Minx Mix only showed up for two whole seconds and Flirty Fluke was nowhere in sight. And now this has happened. This is a lesson in "be careful what you wish for" because I have never been more upset that I finally got what I wanted. Unless the show gives Boston his cake and lets him eat it to, I'm not watching it. Not Minx Mix, Flirty Fluke, or Ohm's body could convince me to do this a second time.
#gmmtv 2025#I support the girlsâ the gaysâ and the goths#and strangelyâ I'm kinda get all of those#I support queer rights AND wrongs#dare you to death#Memoir of Rati#ticket to heaven#cat for cash#that summer the series#a dog and a plane#my romance scammer#and so much more

Maybe I'm being silly, but despite all my ranting abt Rollo's mischaracterisation making me seem angry, I'm actually more sad than anything. Idk, it just kinda hurts to see a complex character I love so much being portrayed as a racist, religious bigot.
He's a traumatised teenager who literally watched his brother burn alive and couldn't do a thing about it. Like. Do you understand how horrific that is? And the cause of this horrific situation that left Rollo scarred is magic.
Rollo is, again, a traumatised teenager who watched his brother burn alive, and likely never got the help he needed to properly deal with his grief. Of course he's going to blame magic, it's likely how he copes, how he brings a sense of reason to a complete accident that could have happened to anybody with magic.
It's easier to view magic as a malevolent force that caused this tragic event. That way, Rollo won't have to confront the fact that there wasn't any "reason" at all. And now, he can eradicate the "cause" of his brother's death and make everything better. It's much more fulfilling than not being able to do anything to make it right because it was just an accident.
I would also like to take the time remind you that Idia literally tried to end the world and is still treated better than Rollo is.
"But he's based off Frollo!" You cry, except you seem to forget the fact that Jamil is based off Jafar, an old man who lusted after a teenager and wanted to marry her, and while Jamil is horribly misunderstood by many people, he's still not treated like a bigoted monster.
A lot of people came to the conclusion that he's racist against fae, even though nothing he does indicates that. He hates magic users specifically, and of course he'll hate Malleus, Malleus is notorious for using magic for every little thing and mainly being revered for his magic.
I also think Rollo being religious/Catholic doesn't make sense for his character. Think about it. He sees magic as dangerous, a vile influence that will bring nothing but harm, but people are complacent to adore and use.
Imagine trying to tell him there's an all-powerful, essentially magical being he must submit to and worship? One which, may I remind you, many say "allows" bad things (like the death of a brother in a blazing torrent of fire magic) to happen? He'd hate that shit. He'd probably gear up to fight god himself. He wasn't even afraid when he fought Malleus, after all.
Idk, this is just from a culmination of far too many posts, memes, "analysis'", and fics portraying this incredibly complex and tragic character who challenges the ideologies of our main chast as a creepy, obsessive copy-paste of Frollo, when characters who have done much worse are adored and treated like little meow meows.
I just don't understand why people do this? Is this because he went against the fan favorite, Malleus? Is this because he's "ugly" (he's not, and it's gross how many of you think ugly = bad person)? Is it because nobody can read?
I really don't know. But it really frustrates me that the common portrayal of him is so far from his actual character, especially since I relate to him in the sense of feeling a burning rage at something that has caused suffering for you, and not being healthy in your response to it/not being able to get help.
Idk man

Wish list for CBS ghosts season 4
Make Patience a recurring antagonist for at least 2-3 episodes before that story gets resolved and she gets regulated to a background character.
Patience character to be 50% good religious farm girl, 50% crazy witch. She also needs to have a wicked(ly cool) ghost power
More of Isaac loving dinosaurs
More solo development for Isaac
More of Isaac and Hetty's awesome friendship
No Nigel for a while. I do not like him. He did a lot of things in his and Isaac's relationship that are textbook abusive partner behavior.
I think it is about time for Jay's restaurant to start up, and I would like that to actually become pretty successful/profitable. Mostly because I would like Sam and Jay to have a bit more disposable income to do things around the manor, and I know the B&B is unlikely to become super busy next season (unless the show is ending , which I really do not want).
The difference in treatment between the above ground ghosts and basement ghosts to be addressed. I know after season 3 that they aren't going to move them all up stairs. But it would be nice if Sam and Jay could like furbish the basement , and then more Basement ghosts than just Nancy got invited to come upstairs for games or discussion.
Just to be clear I still want Nancy to keep making her frequent visits up stairs and hang out with the man 8. I just also would not mind seeing Stuart or another nameless basement ghost standing or walking by in the background on the occasion.
Explore Pete's power more. He does not need to hop on a plane and go across the country or anything, but let him keep going out into town and having adventures. Also let him keep going on dates with other random ghosts outside of the house.
I know that Pete&Alberta will probably happen at some point in season 4. The thing is though while that ship was cute in season 1, the way the ship was handled in season 2 soured it like milk to me. Both characters need a lot of development, and separate explorations of what they want out of a relationship, before I can ship them again.
H-Money is still a couple I kinda like. I do not expect them to get back together in season 4 (Please not another season that is fully devoted to coupling up all the character), but I would like them to start scheming together again. Let them figure out how to interact together as friends, and build a stronger foundation to eventually, in season 5 maybe, try again.
I have heard people suggest that Pete's power could maybe be extend to getting the other ghosts through the barrier if they are like holding onto Pete's hand. I want this. Now I know Sass will want to visit a Pizza Hut, and Issac a dinosaur museum, but I would say the most important thing to do with that would be to take Thor and Flower over to the Farnsby manor to visit Bjorn and his girlfriend Judy. It would also be cool if there was a lesbian ghost living there they could set up Nancy with. Since Nisaac is on a "respite" and queer representation (preferably healthy queer representation) is important.
Everyone remember in season 2 when we learned about Flower's super protective, formally MIA, army vet brother : Rob. You remember how the show's staff said they would love to have Rob come to the B&B for a visit, and were already considering actors who could play him? I want this episode. Also if you cannot directly tell Rob his sister is a ghost on the property, then can Trevor or Alberta use their powers to help Flower send a message to Rob. To say that she still loves him. I cannot deal that both siblings spent like 50 years thinking the other hated them when neither did. It is to sad.
It would be cool if we could also have Ira visit once too. I know Flower did not love him like she did Michael or does Thor, but he was still someone who was a big part of her life for a while, and knowing her cannonly had a large impact on his. Maybe we find that while he has done charities in her memory, trauma over watching her be killed by a bear has also lead him to sponsor bear hunts or poaching. Flower is horrified. Then Sam and Jay have to spend his visit looking for a way to convince him that is not what Flower would have wanted.
Four standard episodes for each season are a Halloween episode, an episode where Bela visits, one where Stephanie wakes up, and one where Crash appears and is slightly relevant. I have no idea what to do for an episode with Crash, but for the others
-Ghost animals on Halloween
-Home theater night for ghosts and guests on the night Stephanie wakes up, complete with all the drama of set up and shenanigans that going to the movies encores.
- Bela is broken up with Eric, she does not even like him. This time her and Jay's parents come with her for the visit. Bela wants all the latest gossip surrounding the ghosts, but they have to tip toe around the parents. Jay's dad does not fully support the B&B even without the knowledge that it is haunted, and Sam does not want to give her mother in law another reason to suspect that she might be crazy.
Owning back to the "Can Pete take the other ghosts off the property" theory, can Thomas Woodstone be a ghost who died visiting a neighbors property. We have no reason to see Elias again since he has decided to stay put in Hell. But Thomas reappearing could be interesting for both Hetty and Alberta. If he does show up though I want the twist to be that he is actually severally cognitively impaired (think Lenny from oMaM)... I mean the man was from an inbred family, played with lead based toys as a baby, had a cocaine addict mom, and a father who was a lot of things. He could not have been all there. Also address more on if Earl ever actually cared for any of the people he was two timing (again development that needs to happen to make Alberta want to go from dating an Earl to a Pete).
A Sasappis based episode that is not his death story. I feel like he needs at least one more episode exploring what his life alive was like, to be appropriately gutted when we learn about his secret death.
Actually maybe we can hold off on Sass's death and Hetty's ghost power until season 5. let's keep the element of mystery in the show for a little longer.

Is your url based on the song Babylon canon?? I recently found the song through a camp that Iâm doing and itâs absolutely beautiful :)
Kinda. My URL is based Psalms 137, which the Babylon Canon is quoting. When I first chose this username, I wasn't planning on that account being for writing - I was using it to access the exmormon subreddit. I eventually burned out on them because they were so, so bitter, and I just... I wasn't. I was sad. I would describe myself as very religious, but not at all spiritual. I loved my friends, I loved the ward, I loved all the insane bullshit that happened in scouts, I loved that there were grown men who had busy lives and kids of their own that worked together to give me adventures in my childhood. I talk about the disasters because they're memorable, but these were not incompetent people. For every disaster there were 10 things that just went great.
I wasn't angry. The worst thing they did was hurt people near me, and when people you love do bad things to other people you love, it's just miserable. I wish they'd treated all of my people as good as they treated me. They loved the house, but not its crows.
Anyway, I chose that Psalm for a handful of reasons.
It's a homesick song. And after leaving, I felt homesick. I sat down by the river and I hung my harp on the poplars, and I wept when I remembered Zion.
I know this is incredibly dorky - but the only piece of media I ever found as a Mormon boy that took the religion seriously was Fallout New Vegas. They weren't a punchline in that game. They wrote Mormons that had deep regrets and complicated pasts, who had lived through and did terrible things, and I loved them for it. The most well executed example of this was a character named Joshua Graham, and he spits Pslams 137 at you in a key moment, and changed my brain chemistry. Watch this if you want to get a sense of the character. Or this. Either works.
I had a really, really, crazy seminary teacher. I've got two stories (story 1, story 2) about him, but frankly, I could write like, ten. He talked about Psalms 137 a lot. He had a very strong belief in God's willingness to inflict a terrible vengeance, but he also had like, beliefs on what it took for that vengeance to be invoked. One of the most interesting people I've met in my entire life, and deeply thus deeply entwined with my relationship with Mormonism.
Good question, and well asked! I've had some people just jump into thinking I'm a Zionist. I'm not.

TOO INTO YOU
Youâve been dating around since you got into town, trying to settle into your new PR job. The work has taken its toll, but you tell yourself you canât complain. Admitting that you feel lonely or sad would mean the job isnât worth it. So, youâve thrown yourself into distractions, parties, casual dating, anything to fill the quiet. A lot of it, really. But hereâs the thing: you havenât actually been on a real date. You just donât feel the desire.
You exchange texts and share a few memes now and then, but nothing that makes you crave someoneâs presence. Deep down, you suspected the issue lay with you. Itâs not that the city lacks interesting or handsome men. Itâs you (your trust issues), your impossibly high standards and even the standards you admit might be unrealistic.
Still, you miss the spark.
Youâre a modern woman, independent and self-assured, but you long for someone who makes you want to go the extra mile. Someone kind. Gentle. Easygoing and fun, but not in a reckless way. You want to laugh and feel safe at the same time. Someone who takes care of you, not because you need it, but because they want to. But finding all that in one person? That felt impossible.
And then thereâs David. The star of this recent horror movie. You two met during one of the castâs happy hours. Your job involved preparing the team for interviews, providing guidance on what to say, what to avoid, and how to handle tricky questions. Itâs demanding work, but you love it.
For months, youâve been working closely with the cast, earning their trust and respect. It wasnât easy at first (actors often come with egos) but your calm professionalism and keen insights quickly won them over. Your tips saved them from embarrassing moments countless times, and David, in particular, seemed to appreciate your efforts more than anyone else.
David was⊠different. At first glance, heâs just another handsome leading man, tall, broad-shouldered, with piercing eyes and an easy smile that could disarm even the harshest critic. But then you hear his voice, which stops you in your tracks. Itâs unique, almost chameleonic. The type of voice that was stretched and shaped into every character he ever played.
Itâs warm and engaging during interviews, and every word is carefully measured to draw people in. On set, itâs steady and firm. When he talks to you, itâs softer, more intimate. You loved how he could read a room and instantly change his tone.
Despite his charm and status, David was refreshingly down-to-earth. Actually, he was like a child trapped in an adultâs body (excitable, endlessly curious, and brimming with energy).
Heâs also fiercely dedicated to his work, enduring grueling shooting schedules and long interviews without complaint. âI love this,â heâd say, brushing off your concern after yet another 12-hour day.
But there were moments when his exhaustion showed, like the time you caught him chugging an energy drink during a break. âThatâs not sustainable,â youâd teased, and heâd laughed, as you rattled off tips for better sleep routines. He followed them religiously after that, often thanking you for âsaving his mind.â
Your friendship grew in these small, simple moments. While David was popular among the crew, always the life of the party, he seemed to gravitate toward you when things slowed down.
You loved this. Because you had been gravitating him as well, but in a much more careful way.
With you, the conversations were more profound and more deliberate. Heâd ask about your work, your aspirations, your thoughts on life. It was clear he valued your opinion, often seeking your guidance not just for interviews but for personal matters, too. You began to notice the way his gaze lingered a little longer when you spoke, the way he always seemed to find a reason to be near you. And yet, you convinced yourself it was all in your head. After all, David saw you as a younger sister, someone to look out for⊠didnât he?
At some point, David had started seeing you differently. Heâd always mentioned how he admired your dedication and how seamlessly you balanced professionalism with genuine kindness. The cast adored you, and he couldnât ignore how many of the men on set seemed to find excuses to talk to you. But they were invisible when David was around.
Then came the night at the club. The team had gathered to celebrate the end of filming, and everyone was in high spirits.
You were enjoying yourself until an obnoxious guy decided to ruin your night. He ignored Davidâs presence entirely, throwing out crude remarks and invading your personal space. Before you could react, David stepped in, his usually calm demeanor replaced by something sharp. The guy backed off quickly, sensing the storm brewing in Davidâs fierce gaze.
Later, David insisted on driving you home. As you sat in his car, the adrenaline from earlier wore off, leaving you drained. âIt must be awful to go through this on a daily basis,â he said, his voice low and tinged with guilt.
âYou get used to it,â you replied, though the words felt hollow.
âYou really donât deserve this,â he said, glancing at you briefly before fixing his eyes on the road.
âAnd what do I deserve?â you sighed.
David was silent for a moment, clearly absorbing your words. âSorry,â he said finally.
âDonât be,â you replied softly as the car pulled up outside your building.
You stepped out and waved, thinking that was the end of the night. But as you fumbled with your keys, you heard footsteps behind you.
An awful thought crossed your mind, but when you turned around, you heart melted.
It was David. Still in a messy suit from before. He had put his glasses on. His hands in his pockets.
The relief you felt was embarrassing. It was problematic how this man could make you feel everything would be right.
âDavid? Whatâs wrong?â you asked, worried something had happened.
âCan I answer your question?â he said, his voice firm but laced with emotion. âYouâre the type of woman a man should work hard to deserve. You care about people, for real. You go out of your way to make others comfortable. You work hard to prove yourself, and youâre good. Not just at your job but also as a person. Youâre not just worried about looking good, you want to be good.â
His words hit you like a wave. Youâd never seen David like this, his voice rising with his usual calm replaced by something raw and almost angry. âYou deserve someone who recognizes your value. Someone who will defend you from jerks, make you laugh, but more importantly, never make you feel like you are the problem.â
You stared at him, utterly speechless. The funny thing is.. you thought the same about him. He got closer to you, his wooden perfume touching your nose.
David exhaled deeply, his broad shoulders rising and falling as if trying to steady himself. He ran a hand through his silver hair, a telltale sign of his frustration.
âI canât do this anymore,â he said, his gray green eyes stuck in yours. His voice lost to find the correct register.
âI canât pretend I didnât care more about you than I cared about myself tonight,â he continued, his words cutting through the silence of the night.
âI fought so hard to get where I am, and to think I was willing to risk everything just to make sure that guy never looked at you againâŠâ He paused. His whole body was tense.
âI canât go home because I know I wonât sleep,â he admitted, his tone softening as he looked away briefly as if the admission embarrassed him. âIâll keep replaying tonight in my head, over and over, thinking of all the ways I could have protected you better.â
There was a strange dissonance in seeing David like this. The man who could make a room burst into laughter, who always had a light-hearted comment or a joke to share, now stood before you, stripped of his usual charm, revealing a side of him you hadnât expected, intense, protective and deeply affected.
âDavidâŠâ you began, but your voice faltered. Your confidence is breaking at the realization of your effect on him. This was scary. It was a big deal.
âI will never let this happen again,â he said, his eyes locking onto yours as he took a step closer. There was no hesitation, no ambiguity in his gestures âGive me the chance to prove it.â
Your heart raced, each beat echoing in your ears. Youâd never allowed yourself to imagine this, to think that David, the man who you thought saw you as a colleague, a friend, or even a little sister, could harbor feelings like this. But the intensity in his eyes left no room for doubt.
âDo you see me?â you asked, fearful of asking the whole question. Did he see you as a woman, someone he could honestly care for in the way you secretly hoped?
âYes,â he said, his response was immediate. âI see you that way. Do you think we could everâŠ?â His voice still in a little off-key tone.
âYes,â you replied instantly, the word tumbling out before you could second-guess yourself.
For the first time, you allowed your heart to hope, to believe. This wasnât a fleeting moment or a casual crush. This was real. David wasnât a boy fumbling with emotions; he was a man, the kind who knew what he wanted and wasnât afraid to fight for it.
The realization hit you like a wave. David wasnât just what you wanted; he was what you needed. A man who would stand beside you, defend you, and never let you question your worth.
You were surprised by how right this felt. As David stepped closer, your heart raced, his tall figure over you.
This was the start of something big, and for the first time, you were ready to fall in love.

What you're favorite female Targ says about you
(For simplicities sake, I'll only mention the ones who have the last name Targaryen but I'll be skipping out on ones we don't know enough about from Daenerys of Dorne to Egg's daughters.)
Daenys - You hyperfixate on long dead characters who did 1 important thing that changed the history of the world.
Visenya - You want to bed her AND you want to be her at the same time. You heard "dark, sensual, unforgiving" and found it the sexiest description ever. You almost see her as a goddess rather than a person, you practically worship her.
Queen Rhaenys - You love a women with duality. You respect House Targaryen's matriarch for having hobbies, having fun with pretty boys, & burning entire armies. You also hate the Dornish.
Rhaena the Black Bride - Fat chance you aren't straight. You think she should have been Queen regnant (you'd be 100% right) & you're a Maegor & Jaehaerys's anti. You have a soft spot for sexy sad women
Alysanne - You love a girlboss who can manage motherhood & a 9 to 5 job. You also appreciate how she's the only Targaryen who fought for SEVERAL WOMEN's rights, not just her own.
Aerea - You're a rebellious teen who had a rough upbringing. Her death broke you because you know she deserved so much better.
Septa Rhaella - Are you sure your favorite character isn't just Rhaena?
Alyssa - You also want to ride 2 dragons (Meleys & Baelon).
Maegelle - You love a good nun.
Daella - You want someone to take care of you for your whole life, except unlike Daella, you're not helpless, you're just lazy.
Saera - You love a girl who serves cvnt (quite literally). You're the biggest Jaehaerys hater.
Viserra - You're incredibly pretty and incredibly petty. You know how the world hates to see pretty girls winning.
Gael - You probably have a helicopter parent.
Rhaenys the Queen who Never Was - You're a feminist & you love girlbosses. You 100% hate Jaehaerys and you have 0 love for Viserys I who you think she should have been Queen instead of.
Rhaenyra - You're a feminist & you were 100% the favorite child growing up. If you have a step-parent or half-siblings, you definitely hate them.
Helaena - You're probably a show enjoyer first & foremost. You probably simp for Aemond who you ship her with.
Baela - You might be a tomboy but not the "not like other girls" type of tomboy. You probably like at least 1 sport though & you're definitely a girl's girl.
Rhaena of Pentos - You love pretty aesthetics & Barbie was probably you're favorite movie of 2023.
Jaehaera - You hyperfixate on tragic minor characters. Bonus points if you're neurodivergent.
Naerys - You're either a sad catholic girl or you hyperfixate on tragic female chracters.
Daena - You love baddies who don't take anyone's shit. You might have grown up in a toxically religious household.
Septa Rhaena - You think Baelor the Blessed was the best Targ King.
Elaena - You like a woman with a brain.
Queen Rhaella - You hyperfixate on tragic female characters.
Daenerys - You love a bad bitch (affectionate) and you will not apologize. You also genuinely have good taste & hated GoT season 8.

As Iâm sure youâve all (unfortunately) heard by now, Ben goddamn motherfucking Shapiro is producing a conservative Bluey knock-off called Chip Chilla, about a homeschooling family of chinchillas â starring Rob goddamn motherfucking Schneider â and I need to talk about it.
Done throwing up yet? Cool.
This is obviously disgusting for several reasons but the thing that infuriates me the most is that the dad in this rip-off is largely absent in his kids lives and development and finds them annoying. One of the great things about Bluey is how deeply the parents (ESPECIALLY Bandit) love their kids even when they can get on their nerves or arenât as easy to manage.
I reject the notion that playing with and loving your children is weak and lame. Bluey is revolutionary in that it dives headfirst into love for oneâs family and being un afraid to express it. Thatâs one of the most badass and radical things that can be shown in media regardless of the age demographic, especially with the stereotype of moms being caretakers and dads finding ways to shut their kids up while the game is on.
You think youâre cool for not caring about love? You think youâre breaking new ground for not listening to your kids and caring deeply about their interests?
The problem is that Bluey is a show for families, and this pile of shit excuse of an animated series is a show for parents. Because theyâre scared of educating their children to be radical with love â because what if they end up loving âthe wrong people?â
These people donât want to raise kind, compassionate and and curious humans â they want carbon copies of themselves. Congratulations, youâve completely missed the point of parenting. Have fun at the retirement home! Repression and censorship is just delaying the inevitable. Itâs love that makes people. How dare you throw it away like itâs nothing.
Whatâs even weirder is I feel like Bluey doesnât even have that much about it that would make conservatives raise their eyebrows? Thereâs no obvious political or religious agenda in any direction, there arenât any canon queer characters yet â none of the things in modern kidsâ TV that would make a right-wing dumbass clutch their pearls and say âI could never show my innocent children something so depraved!â
Itâs just. A happy family. Living their lives. Loving each other. How fucking weird and sad do you have to be to look at that and be like âhmm, no, this is not the message I want my kids to come away with.â
Anyway I know Iâm probably preaching to the choir, but go watch Bluey. Go watch something made by people who care.
Edit: Thank you @potato-head-kids for providing the image description.
