Stalker Oh Jun Yeong X Reader --------------------------------------------------- warnings: Stalking, curse words, psychopathic behavior. ---------------------------------------------------
Introduction
The night was quiet, the only sound being the rhythmic tapping of Jun-yeong’s fingers on his keyboard. His eyes were glued to the screen, his mind lost in the dark corners of the digital world he thrived in. His hands danced across the keys effortlessly, as if the complexities of hacking came as naturally to him as breathing. But tonight, he wasn’t just manipulating code or stealing information. Tonight, he was watching her.
Y/n. The woman whose phone he had found, discarded carelessly in a café. He didn’t know why he picked it up. Maybe it was the thrill of something new, something that didn’t belong to him. Maybe it was the way she had looked that day—her eyes, her smile, the way she moved through the world with a quiet confidence that intrigued him. She didn’t know him, didn’t know that he was watching, and yet he couldn’t look away.
With the phone in his hand, he had dug deep into her life. Her contacts, her photos, her texts—it was all there for the taking. He’d mapped her out, learning her routines, her favorite places, the people she talked to. Every detail was a small piece of a puzzle he couldn’t stop assembling. The thrill of knowing everything about her made him feel alive in a way nothing else did. He didn’t need a reason. He didn’t need a purpose. Watching her was enough.
Tonight, he sat in his dark room, surrounded by the glow of multiple monitors, waiting for her. She didn’t know him, but he knew everything about her. Her work schedule. Her favorite café. The way she responded to texts. Even her deepest secrets, buried in her personal files. He had seen it all. She was his, in a way. He had already won. All he had to do was wait for the right moment to make his presence known.
As the hours passed, he grew restless. He couldn’t help but feel that something was missing. The screens in front of him, filled with her pictures and messages, no longer satisfied him. He needed more. He needed her to notice him, to feel the weight of his gaze. He needed her to know that he existed, that he was watching, that he was there.
His phone buzzed—Y/n had just posted something on social media. A picture of herself, smiling, carefree, unaware that someone was watching her every move from the shadows. He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the screen. There she was, so close yet so far. The thrill surged through him again, and for a moment, a twisted sense of satisfaction washed over him.
His fingers hovered over the keyboard. He could send her a message, pretend to be someone else, someone who cared. But he didn’t want that. He didn’t want to play games. He wanted to be real. He wanted her to know that he was here, in her world, in her life, without her even realizing it.
He typed quickly, a single line of text appearing on her phone screen.
I see you.
It was simple, cold, but it was enough. He watched as her phone buzzed, the notification appearing. His heart raced. What would she do? Would she panic? Would she confront him? The thought of her responding, of her acknowledging his presence, made his skin tingle with anticipation.
He didn’t care about her reaction. It wasn’t about getting her to like him. It was about control. It was about knowing that he could reach her, invade her world in ways that no one else could. He was the invisible force in her life, the shadow that hovered just beyond her vision, and that was enough for him.
As the minutes ticked by, Jun-yeong leaned back in his chair, a twisted smile curling at the corner of his lips. He wasn’t looking for love, for connection. He wasn’t even looking for anything logical. He was just watching, waiting, feeding off the chaos he was about to bring into her world.
And Y/n had no idea that her life was about to unravel, all because of a lost phone and a man who had nothing but an unrelenting obsession.

i think my problem with the point five books thing is not the books themselves, so much as it is the marketing and way they're presented.
for those that aren't aware: point five books have a generally understood meaning/connotation that authors and fans both sort of know. it's basically code for "book that is not mandatory to understand the story, but it's there for fans that want extra content". usually this comes in the form of short story collections or whatever else the author may want to do. sometimes it's just a single short story. for example, a proper way for kotlc to utilize point five books would be to for instance, make a book 7.5, which has keefe and fitz's flashback short stories in it. extra bonus content from flashback (book seven), but you don't have to read it to understand the main story itself. you'll be okay without it. that is what a point five book actually means, as far as the wider literary world is concerned.
but books 8.5 and 9.5 in this series are not extra bonus content. you very much do have to read them to understand the main story. if you read it book eight, then nine, then ten, you will be lost or miss important stuff that's crucial to understanding the story.
just call it book nine. just call it book eleven. all this will do is label the books properly and not confuse people. and people will be confused. we aren't seeing the effects yet, because books are still coming out and everyone in the fandom keeps up with shannon's updates, so we all know what's up. but trust me, in a few years, after the series is over and new people get into it, they will be confused. they will skip straight over book 8.5 or 9.5 unknowingly, and it won't be good.
my theory is that someone on shannon's team wants to make this series seem shorter than it really is. because that is the only logical explanation here. you could describe this series as having "nine and a half books" now, instead of ten, and by the way the series is officially marked, that's not incorrect. but it is. this series has ten books. because there are ten mandatory books that you have to read that are out right now. stop calling books that aren't supposed to be called point five books as point five books!!!! this isn't quirky, it's just going to throw people off.
this is super, super confusing for people that aren't "in the know" with this series, so to speak, and there will be people that read this series incorrectly because of this. i have been a casual fantasy series reader for pretty much my entire existence on this planet, and let me just tell you, this is not how this works. at all. if i didn't know books 8.5 and 9.5 were mandatory, i would skip over them completely, going on my understood knowledge of how these epic fantasies are generally structured.
just market them correctly. praying to the heavens for shannon's team to stop. this is actively hurting your readers!!!!
*i assume it isn't shannon herself who is coming up with this strategy
#and unraveled is already confirmed to be proper book length. why are we embarrassing ourselves like this please just call it book ten#i promise it wouldn't be any funkier than making your third person limited series have an entire book from the pov of another character#POINT FIVE BOOK = EXTRA BONUS CONTENT. THIS IS THE WAY OF THE LITERARY WORLD I'M GONNA THROW HANDS#STOP BREACHING THE CODE!!!! IT'S VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD!!!! THIS IS GOING TO CONFUSE NEW READERS SO MUCH#i DESPISE the way this makes the series seem shorter than it is!!!! come on just accept it!!!! this is embarrassing!!!!#if this book is mandatory to understand the story THEN JUST CALL IT BOOK TEN. THERE IS NO SHAME IN THAT!!!!#okay look i complained a lot about unraveled (and i will continue to do so) but honestly?#if this is what shannon feels she needs to do to continue the story then by all means let her do it. just PLEASE label the books right#kotlc#kotlc unraveled#kotlc unlocked#unraveled#unlocked#point five books#.5 books

kotlc tumblr I have a question
Did y'all read the entirety of Unlocked? I tried reading the Registry entries but got bored bc I had just binged the series so I was caught up and didn't need refreshers, and then I read the novella bc that's what I was most interested in (to be able to read Stellarlune)
And I added the book to my Goodreads and Storygraph, but I never took it off after finishing the novella, and now it's been marked as "Currently reading" for like 8 months...and idk if I should just mark it as "Read"
(@myfairkatiecat help me, help me myfairkatiecat)
#kotlc#keeper of the lost cities#unlocked#kotlc unlocked#i opened my epub and just realized there's also a section called 'keefes memories'#i should probably read those before marking it as read tbf#but did yall read the registry part? and those other sections like 'life in the lost cities' and 'the intelligent species'?#lune talks#i hope it's ok that i tagged you katie

Stalker Oh Jun Yeong X Reader
Chapter 1
The next morning, Y/n was jolted awake by the sound of her phone buzzing on the bedside table. She had slept poorly, her dreams tangled with strange, fragmented images that left her feeling disoriented. Reaching for her phone, she rubbed her eyes, still half asleep as she glanced at the notification.
I see you.
Her heart skipped a beat, the message sending a cold shiver through her. It was a cryptic, unsettling text from an unknown number. The words seemed to linger in the air, heavy with an ominous weight. She stared at the screen for a few seconds, trying to process the meaning behind the message, but it felt like her mind was moving too slowly.
She didn’t know who it was. She didn’t know why someone would send her something so strange, so chilling. She opened her contact list to see if it was anyone she recognized—no luck. The number was completely unfamiliar. Her stomach tightened with unease, the disquiet gnawing at her.
She’d been in situations before, had people make strange comments or send uncomfortable messages, but this felt different. Something about the simplicity of it—I see you—spelled out a deeper, more dangerous meaning. A part of her dismissed it, telling herself it was probably some random prank, but another part of her felt that strange, nagging suspicion that there was more to this than met the eye.
Y/n decided to ignore it for now. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe it wasn’t meant for her. She went about her morning routine, trying to shake off the eerie feeling that clung to her, but her mind kept circling back to the message.
By the time she left for work, the feeling of being watched intensified. The world seemed the same—people walking down the street, the noise of cars, the familiar buzz of the city—but something was off. She couldn’t pinpoint it. She just knew that something had shifted.
As she made her way into the office, she tried to focus on the tasks at hand. But her mind kept drifting, wondering who would have sent that message. She checked her phone repeatedly, just to make sure there were no new texts, no sign that whoever it was had contacted her again. But it stayed quiet.
At lunch, she went to the same café she always visited, hoping to ground herself in something familiar. She ordered her usual—a black coffee and a small pastry—and sat near the window, watching the people outside. The sun was bright, the world full of life, but all she could feel was a subtle tension in the air, the gnawing sense that someone was watching her.
She glanced up briefly, catching sight of a man sitting across the café. His face was familiar. She couldn’t place where she had seen him before, but there was something unsettling about the way he was staring at her. His gaze wasn’t just a passing glance—it was intense, purposeful. It made her skin crawl.
He was seated by the window, one hand resting casually on the table, the other holding a cup of coffee. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes never left her. There was a flicker of recognition, something she couldn’t name, but it sent a shiver down her spine. As their eyes met for a moment, he didn’t look away. Instead, his lips curled into a faint smile, almost as if he were acknowledging something she couldn’t yet understand.
She quickly averted her gaze, her heart rate picking up as the tension in her chest grew. She felt her palms growing clammy, her breathing shallow. Had he been watching her before? Was he the one who had sent the message? She didn’t know, but the feeling of unease was undeniable.
She tried to shake it off, telling herself she was just being paranoid. It was a busy café; people were just being people. But there was something about him, something about the way he sat so still, so deliberately, that made her feel like she was the target of something bigger. The longer she stared, the more his presence seemed to press in on her, suffocating her.
When she stood up to leave, she noticed him standing as well, moving in the same direction. He wasn’t following her directly, but his movements were synchronized with hers, as if he were always a step behind her. Her pulse quickened, her instincts screaming that something was off.
She turned a corner and walked faster, her thoughts racing. Was she imagining it? Was he really following her, or was it just her anxiety making everything feel worse?
But when she reached her building, she turned around one last time, catching a glimpse of him again across the street. He wasn’t moving any faster, wasn’t making a direct approach, but he was still there—watching. And in that moment, the unsettling realization hit her: this wasn’t paranoia. He was watching her. And he had been for some time.
The weight of the message from the morning—the one that had seemed so distant and abstract—suddenly became all too real. He had been watching her for longer than she realized. The connection between the text and the stranger in the café was no longer just a coincidence.
Suddenly, she wished she hadn’t ignored the warning signs. Because now she was tangled in something far darker than she could have imagined, and the person responsible for it was far closer than she could have guessed.

see the issue that’s not realllllly that much of an issue but absolute leaves other people bewildered sometimes is there’s fanfictions that to me are just exquisite works and in some cases became very well known in their relative fandom and in other cases were never really well known at all but were well known to me and i quote them because they live on in my heart and mine and breath and i’ma do whatever the fuck i want and also fanfictions truly just have some amazing ass quotes sometimes so why tf not but then i have to remind myself that sometimes people aren’t at all versed in the fandom let alone fanon and fanfiction of said fandom and it’s just a beautiful spiral of connections that may confuse the fuck out of a majority of people but ya know what i get it and that’s what matters sometimes. on that note. elk are large. in herds they run.
