GMMTV 2024 Part 2 - Hot Tops

I did this for the first part, so I'm following up with the second part. I still have no Midnight Museum 2 or gym bros BL (why?!!!!!), and I'm excluding Ossan's Love and ReVamp since we knew those were coming, but, honestly, this list could have just been one show, and if you know me, you already know what it is . . .

#1 - The Heart Killers

I'm a JoongDunk fan first, and a human second. My troublesome tykes get to be gay and do crime, this might be a Jojo show, and they get to chill next to FirstKhao.

This isn't a gym bros BL, but somehow, I still won! Who do I look at first? Khao and Joong playing criminal brothers? Dunk being a mechanic? First being a tattoo artist? Not only am I getting a YinWar heist BL this year, but now this?! The chemistry is going to be 100%, and for this gift from the BL gods, I'm watching TWO shows on my Pride Petty Watch because I. Have. Been. Blessed.

#2 - Us

Sing was looking fine with his hair, and his body, and his presence, so for me to see him in all his beauty and still scream for him to get the fuck off my screen so I could focus on the ladies means THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD! I'm still holding petty grudges against Emi for the character she played in 609 Bedtime Story and Intern in My Heart, but the second she told her boyfriend's sister to come closer . . . *bites knuckles*

#3 - Heart that Skips a Beat

I'm shocked. I am fully invested in watching this idol love story knowing damn well I hate singing and dancing in my shows. And yet, somehow, this three-minute trailer convinced me that this wasn't just an average One Direction fanfic. No. This is about to be gold-tier fanfic storytelling. These boys aren't living in the BL bubble, but in actual this-shit-is-about-to-have-consequences-for-everyone reality. Plus, it appears to be color-coded, so bring me my idols!

Felt like Wednesday should have her own gay panic moment 😆

Enid somehow was able to convince Wednesday to attend the Rave’n again. It baffles the goth how this bubbly colorful girl got her to attend meaningless teenage parties. Still, she found herself staying near Enid during the night. The werewolf pokes Wednesday’s shoulder.

“Could you come with me to the washroom? I need to retouch my makeup.”

Wednesday doesn’t reply but she simply walks to follow Enid. She’s aware that girls accompany each other to the washroom for some reason as if public toilets require to be entered in groups. She also doesn’t understand it but she accompanies Enid nonetheless. Yoko spots the pair and calls to them.

“Where you guys going?” Yoko asks.

“We’re gonna make out!” Enid jokes.

“Hell yeah!” The vampire goes along with the joke and laughs.

As the pair continue on their way, Wednesday remains her cold demeanor on the outside. But on the inside she’s short circuiting. That was a joke right? But would Enid joke like that? Unless she feels comfortable enough with her perhaps. Wednesday was lost in thought that she didn’t notice she was just staring at Enid while she was reapplying powder.

“Wednesday?!” Enid calls and Wednesday snaps out of her thoughts. “I didn’t know you put on some blush on. The color’s a bit out of character but I totes support you wanting to explore.”

Enid’s face was too close for Wednesday’s comfort. No, that’s not true. Wednesday, deep down, was hoping, she’d go closer. And that’s when she realized why she blindly obliged to her roommate’s whims.

As Enid led them back to the party, Wednesday could only mutter under her breath. “Stupid family curse.”

The Reverend Daughter Harrowhark Nonagesimus (The Locked Tomb) vs Mercedes von Martritz (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)

Harrow is a nun of the Ninth House. She's been described as a space goth necromancer fantasy sci-fi bone nun.

Mercedes von Martritz is a nun of the Church of Saint Seiros at Garreg Mach Monastery.

She’s great. She has so many fucking problems. She’s been running the goth space convent since she was 10. She’s puppeting her dead parents around. She doesn’t like tastes. She is extremely passionate about bones. She’s locked in a twisted bond of love and violence and devotion and sacrifice with her childhood best enemy. She lobotomized herself to preserve the best enemy’s soul. She’s been in love with the corpse of the Devil all her life. She goes around in bone jewelry and skull face paint. She’s a sad wet cat who was born in a cardboard box all alone, etc. She chopped another woman’s arm off and regrew a skeleton arm, in a sexual way. She has awkward little fireside chats with God where he makes millennia-old meme references at her and she does not drink the proffered tea. She saw God make a your mom joke and it “destroyed some cavern of her reverence”. She’s even gay. She’s everything.

Mercedes von Martritz

Mercedes was born to the fallen House Martritz and bore a minor Crest of Lamine, a special type of blood that gave it's bearer enhanced abilities. Her father died shortly afterwards and Mercedes' mother remarried into House Bartels, giving birth to Emile von Bartels, who also had a minor Crest of Lamine. Mercie's stepfather was uncaring and only married for his new wife's crest which led to said wife's departure from House Bartels. She ran away with only her eldest child to the Kingdom, where Mercedes would really start her own life as a student of Fhirdiad's Royal School of Sorcery. There, she befriended Annette Fantine Dominic and both girls would later attend Garreg Mach Monastery together. Mercedes is a kind soul with a soft voice and the ability to speak her mind. She's the eldest student attending the Officer's Accademy and takes it upon herself to be a shoulder of support for her classmates, no matter their origin. When the timeskip hits, Mercie returns in a nun's garb and expresses reinforced belief in the Church, even in the route where you fight against the Archbishop. I find her extremely fascinating due to her sub-plot with her brother, Emile. Mercedes held deep regret for leaving her brother behind in House Bartels despite not knowing that he had chosen to stay behind to protect her and her mother. Emile later returns as The Death Knight, a general under the Flame Emperor's command and his story with his sister changes depending on the player's route. Should the player oppose the Flame Emperor, Emile and Mercie can reunite briefly, with The Death Knight granting Mercedes a relic that can only be operated by their Crest before dying in her arms in a later battle, happy to be with his family once again. In the event that the player does side with the Flame Emperor, The Death Knight becomes playable alongside his sister, revealing thatthe years spent in House Bartels changed him, giving rise to two distinct personalities: Jeritza von Hyrm and The Death Knight. Jeritza had been a teacher at Garreg Mach, serving as a spy to the Flame Emperor while The Death Knight quelled his bloodlust under the Flame Emperor's orders. In this route, Mercedes reaches out to both Jeritza and The Death Knight as their elder sister and the exchanges they have are some of my favorites in Fire Emblem history. Also Mercie is bisexual and both M!player and F!player can marry her in the end, regardless of route. Love her for that

- Gets oddly soft with you and nobody else. Becomes clingy and desperate for your attention to the extent of protecting you on the battlefield and overall showing off with his shots. Becomes more awkward than he usually would. Stumbles over his words and panics when speaking to you. You find it cute.

Hello little fräulein!” He immediately turned around and waved to greet you the first time… Before slowly realizing your head was higher than his shoulders and trailed his eyes upward. Meeting your gaze with awkward silence. He had bent down suspecting an innocent, small and adorable woman and so had to immediately stand up and straighten his posture. A majority of girls from his village were abhorrently short.

- “Ah… I see…” He turns away and fixes his glasses. Going back to whatever the hell math he was jotting on his chalkboard. You could vaguely make out it was some sort of failsafe for in case the medigun failed to deploy charge. You were more intrigued over the fact you were taller than this man. You leaned over his head to check your height— Which made him nervous of course.

- “Must you be so nosey? Hah! Relax. It’s not a shrink ray or anything!” He joked. You didn’t know if you should be offended by that or that or not. “Of course, mind you, I do know how to make that. But I don’t have the time nor resources sadly. Then again, everybody must be shrunken to you.” Medic then proceeds to suppress his mild attraction to you; instead opting to tear you to shreds with his sick roasts about your height. Wow, somebody’s insecure.

Challenge: Tell me something about the main Helluva characters, as well as without mentioning Viv’s livestream/twitter info.

Tell me something about Blitz without mentioning he’s a lonely childish boss who likes horses and has a sad backstory.

Tell me something about Moxxie without mentioning he’s the sensitive straight man/punching bag who likes musicals, loves his wife, and has a traumatic backstory.

Tell me something about Millie other than her being a “bubbly farm girl” who’s a killing machine and supports her husband.

Tell me something about Loona other than she’s a lonely goth with daddy issues and has a traumatic backstory.

Tell me something about Stolas other than he’s a sad abused horny gay owl who loves his daughter and has a traumatic backstory.

You can’t, and even if you could, there’s not a lot to say, unless you’re like the fans who pull an alternate version of Viv’s character’s that they created in their heads. These characters are still lacking depth and identity, and it’s because Viv decided to dive right into the emotional core so early into season 1 without getting to know these main characters well.

How does Blitz act without his team? How does Moxxie act around Loona aside from their bickering? What’s the in depth dynamic like between Millie and Loona and Millie and Blitz? What is Millie like outside of her job? Outside of Moxxie and her family? What is Stolas like outside of his family and IMP? What is Stolas like when he’s doing his job or interacting with other royal demons? What are these characters likes/dislikes? How do IMP view each other? What they do outside of their jobs, what are they like? This is because the plot keeps forcing these characters into situations without us really getting to know them, and that’s a problem and still is a problem today. I have yet to see why Viv refers to Blitz and Stolas as gentle and sweet, or Loona as someone who gives advice, or Millie as someone with “strong family ties and memories”, or Stella as someone who has a “complex” relationship with Stolas.

I have yet to see what these characters are like and how they act OUTSIDE of the plot and it doesn’t help that the characters themselves will be retconned or change consistency every episode. Show don’t tell, and it’s crazy how we’re almost mid season 2 and what we know about these characters isn’t enough, cause this show is obsessed with introducing NEW characters/antagonists but not focusing on the ones they need to. 💀

Sierra and Sharon - and how 2 fangirls can ruin great characters

For those who don’t know Braceface is a canadian show about a high school girl. In one episode she went through a breakup with her boyfriend Alden. Her own unsatisfying love life has lead her to pair 2 gay friends of hers solely based on the fact that those 2 are gay , listen to Celine Dion and have a few similarities

Similarly ,the same reasons applied to fans who support Gwuncan

they both like same movies, one is punk and the other goth and like horror stuff

What they fail to realise is these characters have COMPLETELY different personalities that make them unique and hence their reasons why they chose trent and courtney in the first place.

Gwen is a girl who likes deep , meaningful conversations with people like Trent , she likes her alone time ,her privacy where she can create art and live in her own world while Duncan is an attention seeking delinquent who likes to create trouble 24/7 cuz he wants attention, a clear thing that Courtney offered him constantly.

In the “Games , Set , Match episode” , Sharon decides to set her 2 gay friends for a date without their approval while secretly watching them from behind the door to see how it’s going

This level of stalking sounds familiar?

While for her it seemed like the best idea ever , for Dion and Huston was the most uncomfortable moment of their lives.

Sierra: “i get it , love is love just like me and cody woody” gwen:” yeah we’re exactly like you guys”

Sierra thinks her love for cody is “true love” and she thinks he loves her too. In her mind she pictures “true love” A very different concept of what gwen and duncan had thought of hence the disapproving look on their faces at her comment cuz she is blinded by love and thinks that in front of her duncan and gwen ‘s love represent “true love” like her and cody . but in fact it was a subtle message from the writers that even they have no idea why they paired these 2 together.

Dion and Huston repay the joke and set her up with a guy who is a vegetarian like her , dresses like her , has braces , goes to same orthodontist , likes animals and he wants to become a vet.

Dion :” we decided to find someone just for you . You look so cute together and have Soooooo much in common!”

Sharon:” Like what , braces ? We have nothing in common!!! “

Huston: “but you two are perfect for each other !”

Sharon: “no we’re not! . This is so uncomfortable this is soooo annoying … this is …

Dion: “yep, sorry we had to do that hun, but you wouldn’t get it”

Luckily , she got the message and realised how uncomfortable it is to set two people up solely for the shallow reasons her friends have 2 or 3 things in common and fail to consider their own lives, experiences, past and goals and what made their characters great in the first place. Their styles is not a true definition of their PERSONALITIES Gwen , like Raven from Teen Titans , she enjoys horror , darkness, she embraces it hoping for protection still she is scared of it cuz she doesn’t want to hurt people that she cares for .

Gwen wants to form that deep connection to someone that goes way beyond the “similar aspects “ and she doesn’t particularly hope it is a person who looks like her, since she already had a lot of friends who share her tastes in goth stuff and that was way before total drama. If it was that easy , she would have had a strong love with one of her similar goth friend back home already. Gwen is hoping she can find someone that understands SHE IS MORE THAN HER “HORROR ASPECT “ and just a sensitive soul who is not bad but good . Something that Trent could see and accept. She loved the sweet moments when Trent cared for her , more than she liked the dark side of her. She hopes to bound with people like Geoff , Trent , Leshawna and sometimes just be a normal girl who enjoys normal stuff like shopping , a small girly talk between friends, a party . Small things that makes life meaningful for her.

Duncan on the other hand has no interest for such things. Even if he has “ a soft side” he was never proud of that. Everybody has soft moments even Heather and Alejandro. But that is not HOW THEY WANT TO BE SEEN. Duncan enjoys darkness , he enjoys being bad and he enjoys that Courtney is attracted to his dark side. He also enjoys playing with her cuz she cares enough to tell him stop ! He keeps doing bad stuff cuz he wants Courtney to give him attention and to care for him.

Duncan craves attention , he likes it loud he likes to be seen heard and break rules for his own convenience. He likes darkness so he can use it for bullying. Something that Gwen was never impressed of.

Duncan: “being bad is cool!!”

And a clear thing that Gwen is against of. cuz “i m not a villian, i ve done so many good things….”

Gwen is a sensitive artist , she likes to keep it down , she finds comfort in horror stories cuz darkness offers her protection from people who don’t get her. She wants someone to get her through her heart , a deep level of understanding that only Trent achieved.

Coming out sorta?

Wednesday wasn’t one for physical affection. Yet there’s one exception. Enid could freely touch her whenever she wanted. Their shoulders and arms brush while they walk on school grounds. Enid can put her arm around the goth and leave unscathed. Yoko, whether out of curiosity or just being dumb, barely got a ruler’s length close and was threatened with being force fed garlic.

“Wednesday?” Enid called as she positioned herself between Wednesday and the book she was reading. This wasn’t the first time the werewolf invaded her personal space while she was reading on her bed. Enid had already wrapped her arms around Wednesday and laid her head on the psychic’s chest to listen to her surprisingly undead heartbeat.

“Enid? What’s wrong?” Wednesday put her book down. It’s not uncommon for Enid to be clingy but she ought to ask just in case.

“Just tired.” Enid looked up at the shorter girl. “Is this okay?”

“Yes.” Wednesday stroked Enid’s back with one hand and her hair with the other, guiding her head back unto her chest.

Enid sighed comfortably. “Wednesday, why are you nicer to me?”

“Where did you pick up that I’m nice to anyone else?” Wednesday raised an eyebrow. “It’s because I like you.”

Enid froze but she quickly rebooted her brain. Surely she couldn’t mean it like that she thought. “Right. As a friend.”

“No. As more than a friend.” Wednesday casually said like she was stating a fact.

Enid raised her head to look Wednesday straight in the eyes. Not to say the feeling was unreciprocated. But she was always the one chasing. Always the one pleasing others. Her self doubt made her question things. Just to be sure she had to ask. “Wednesday, are you gay?”

The girl underneath shrugged. “I don’t know. I don’t find myself attracted to other girls. Or other boys. I just know that I like you.”

Enid couldn’t see how red her face has become. Her best friend came out-sort of- to her. And she indeed had romantic feelings for her. She couldn’t help but smile.

“Honestly, I am still trying to figure out this whole… feelings thing.” Wednesday moves her hand to cup Enid’s cheek. “But if it’s you. I want to try. I want to court you the way you deserve…. If you’ll have me.” She whispered the last part suddenly losing her confidence.

Enid noticed it and didn’t want any misunderstanding between them. She placed her own hand on top of Wednesday’s. “I would like that.” Enid moved closer until their faces were inches apart. She hesitated not sure if this would be too much for the other girl. But Wednesday made no move to stop her and only closed her eyes.

One hand reached for Enid’s cheek and other supported the back of her neck. Enid placed one hand on Wednesday’s shoulder and the other clutched at her jacket as if pulling her closer.

Their kiss that started shy and short grew long and desperate. Like they were searching for each other all this time. It wasn’t grand or felt like fireworks. It was warm and comfortable. They both thought that they should’ve done this a long time ago.

and like they are actual characters with real life problems and troubles, not just some amazing characters or ones with over dramatic trauma like a lot of people give their characters. they actually seem and act like real life people

i have and will play this game over and over and over
