I think people should stop putting members against each other. It makes no sense. They have only ever shown us friendship, so why can’t Tae mentioning Jk or hanging out with him be just that (or more in their case)? It weirds me out so much to see supposed fans creating drama out of nothing. Because there is no base for those allegations at all. Only the sprouts of some unhealthy minds.

The members are friends. When they interact or drop each others names it’s out of love and support.

Tae doesn’t need to mention Jk to get attention. Tae loves Jk and that’s why he mentions him. Jk mentions Tae as well, albeit not as much maybe, but Jk rarely mentions anyone; he’s more private.

This would actually be a great gimmick for hotels. Like you have no idea how many people will pay extra to sleep in a haunted hotel room, and yes, many supposedly haunted hotels do charge extra because those rooms are usually very popular. What would make this even cooler is if this were the updated interior for the Stanley Hotel.

The Stanley is a real life supposedly haunted hotel located in Colorado, I believe, and served as the inspiration for Stephen King's The Shining. So this would be a really cool homage to Kubrick's version of The Shining🤩😌

not to sound like a boomer, but I need some people to learn how to write emails in a semi-professional (at the very least) format so you're not cold emailing a business/potential employer/any other stranger about formal matters in the exact same way you'd DM a close friend on instagram

the formality/language can loosen up in the email chain once you've established a rapport and you match the other person if they're being less formal, but please don't have the very first email you send a stranger be written in all lowercase ultra-casual sms slang with no greeting or signature and a billion emojis

this is just my opinion but i think any good media needs obsession behind it. it needs passion, the kind of passion that's no longer "gentle scented candle" and is now "oh shit the house caught on fire". it needs a creator that's biting the floorboards and gnawing the story off their skin. creators are supposed to be wild animals. they are supposed to want to tell a story with the ferocity of eating a good stone fruit while standing over the sink. the same protective, strange instinct as being 7 and making mud potions in pink teacups: you gotta get weird with it.

good media needs unhinged, googling-at-midnight kind of energy. it needs "what kind of seams are invented on this planet" energy and "im just gonna trust the audience to roll with me about this" energy. it needs one person (at least) screaming into the void with so much drive and energy that it forces the story to be real.

sometimes people are baffled when fanfic has some stunning jaw-dropping tattoo-it-on-you lines. and i'm like - well, i don't go here, but that makes sense to me. of fucking course people who have this amount of passion are going to create something good. they moved from a place of genuine love and enjoyment.

so yeah, duh! saturday cartoons have banger lines. random street art is sometimes the most precious heart-wrenching shit you've ever seen. someone singing on tiktok ends up creating your next favorite song. youtubers are giving us 5 hours of carefully researched content. all of this is the impossible equation to latestage capitalism. like, you can't force something to be good. AI cannot make it good. no amount of focus-group testing or market research. what makes a story worth listening to is that someone cares so much about telling it - through dance, art, music, whatever it takes - that they are just a little unhinged about it.

one time my friend told me he stayed up all night researching how many ways there are to peel an orange. he wrote me a poem that made me cry on public transportation. the love came through it like pith, you know? the words all came apart in my hands. it tasted like breakfast.

On today's episode of "Weird Shit I've Watched"....

Paid two bucks for this movie at Goodwill. Loved the ideas in it. There's even a few scenes I appreciated.

Thing must have looked real good on paper.

I want to like this movie. I really do. The plot synopsis is so far down my alley that it's a landlord charging an arm and a leg for rent every month. I'd say that the biggest issue with the whole thing is that it's unpolished.

In a nutshell: This is Hisss.

In Unfinished Tales, she was the only one in Eregion who suspected that Annatar was lying about being an emissary of the Valar. Celebrimbor was deceived by him. She was not. She was certainly not "under his thrall." No, not even because she had Nenya.

Yes, when Frodo offered her the One Ring, she was tempted. It could have given her the power to prevent the fading of Lothlórien. But when she makes this speech in the book, and in the Peter Jackson movies, it's her own thought, she's not repeating something that Sauron said to her once:

“You will give me the Ring freely! In place of the Dark Lord you will set up a Queen. And I shall not be dark, but beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night! Fair as the Sea and the Sun and the Snow upon the Mountain! Dreadful as the Storm and the Lightning! Stronger than the foundations of the earth. All shall love me and despair!”

These are Galadriel's words. Her words. Not Sauron's. And she was tempted by the One Ring because she could have been a more powerful queen, not Sauron's queen. Like, you guys really took one of the most powerful and complex female characters in Tolkien's works and you made her story all about a man and his power over her and his manipulation of her. Fuck off.

And stop tagging ROP as Lord of the Rings.

Go find some smaller IPs. Bring back discovery. Bring back never having heard of a book before you buy it. Bring back watching obscure anime online that none of your friends know about.
