ok since you guys don't know anything about my agent 8's personality, i'm doing a huge infodump on them. enjoy

Agent 8; they/them, nonbinary — 24 as of current time, in a relationship with Agent 4 and Captain 3

they're pretty, but also one of the worst people you'll meet. everyone who met them has had something terrible happen to them, basically a bad omen...yet they still think they're a saint! 8 is very narcissistic, but also very self-critical. they think they can be the only one to do something, that they're the best at it...but they know this is wrong, so they hate themself for it

they think they're a very fragile and innocent being, like a deer. they want to live a calm and steady life, no excessively loud or overwhelming sounds and music, just them and their close ones. they enjoy writing poetry and creating art to the likes of vincent van gogh, but also impressionism in general. they have a very bad memory now, so they want to capture the present time as best as they can if it ever gets worse. often times, 8 thinks about any big events that are coming up in the near future (concerts, festivals, etc.). they don't like to think about the future outside of these things (was team present if that wasn't obvious)

they used to be full of emotion, expressing and voicing their thoughts well. but slowly over time, they've became numb to most things to prevent themself from being embarassed by...sadness. they think being upset is embarassing, and are easily annoyed by gloomy people. they have such little sympathy, but it still exists. they are capable of love! it's not hard to crack through their shell, nor do they even have one. 8 themself is aware of how they've changed over the years, and they want to go back to how they used to be; loving, sympathetic, mindful of others. they do feel very sorry for the change in their personality, but the partial sanitization that was done to them makes it difficult to revert to their old self

8 feels like they're putting up a front when they want to be nice, and, they can be compassionate and apologetic sometimes. they deeply wish for anyone who recognized them pre-octo expansion to forgive them, even if they did nothing wrong

because of the whole octo expansion situation, 8 has developed truman syndrome, paranoia, and heavily dislikes anything involving a smart AI or robotics. this is one of the reasons why marina pisses them off so badly. to 8, they think that they've caused no harm, and every mistake they've done was not entirely their fault. they make a lot of people uncomfortable in some way without touching anyone or saying anything. despite all that, they respect people's personal space a lot!..other than pearl and marina, who they used to watch sleep before being kicked out

now, onto their relationships. 8 is doing fine with agent 4, he's nice to them so they like him... but so is cap3, yet 8 might be one of the worst things that ever happened to her. cap3 really wants some alone time and hates being stared at, and 8 does the exact opposite of that. they don't touch her at her request, but they Will stare at her whenever she's doing anything, at any given time. they don't process in their mind that they want to make her uncomfortable, they just sort of...do?

i guess you could say they have some kind of parental issues? i don't know, they can't remember who their biological parents are anyways. they have a strong attachment to marina though, can't decide if they wanna be her or want her to adopt them. kind of "eh" with pearl, still respects him nonetheless

The entire time i just wanted free yaoi of the triangle guy. I had someone point out to me that i could have just shipped Dipper and Pacifica, and even though i have some love about the ship (i'm more of a QP Mabifica person) it didn't involve Bill or gay shit so i wasn't as interested. I think we forget that real people don't have the full circle, everything-makes-sense kind of personality quirks or tastes that fictional characters do. Real people aren't written to work back into some kind of theme or message which means tastes in content comes down entirely to "vibes".

If you can articulate a reason why you like something or don't, that's great for deeper discussions but sometimes it literally is just "this one isn't scratching the itch that this one is".

Example: I love teacher/student and I literally couldn't tell you why. I'm not attracted to children, I never had a teacher crush, can't think of any trauma it could have come from. It's literally just there scratching the right part of my brain.

It's not complicated, or profound, or a secret agenda that reveals dark and problematic inner thoughts that you really hold.

It's just personal opinion.

How long has it been? I think Hammer announced their collaboration with NECA a little too early, because the wait for this has felt like an eternity. In that time I feared they'd just make retro cloth figures or even that the license lapsed. Thankfully, none of that is the case. NECA Hammer Dracula is finally here.

I'm a huge Hammer Drac fan. Horror of Dracula is not only my favorite Dracula film, but I enjoy all of the films with Christopher Lee in them... Okay except for Satanic Rites, that movie is a bore. Regardless, Chris Lee's take on the iconic vampire is up there with Lugosi in my mind. I'm never entirely sure which is my absolute favorite, the answer changes daily. They both bring so much to the table.

I could ramble about this topic all day, but just know I've been dying for a figure of this specific Dracula. It doesn't disappoint. The likeness on all three heads is KILLER, especially in-person. The calm face exudes a kind of aristocratic arrogance perfect for the character. The other two heads are when the switch is flipped and he's suddenly turned into a feral animal. One of many reasons I love this take on the character.

Articulation is the NECA standard, albeit the head feels kinda limited. The cape is the same fantastic material used for Lugosi, the way it drapes and hangs looks so good.

It seems like Hammer has a good future at NECA. They've shown Peter Cushing Van Helsing and I'm sure we'll see these two again as the Baron and the Monster soon. They've even teased making Draculas from the sequels. Personally, I'm hoping for one based on Scars. Mainly for the accessories. You could have the bat the spits blood, the knife he used like a total psycho, and of course the BURNING SUPER DEATH SWORD. Yeah, I'm totally in for that if they ever make it.

I love the QSMP. Not only has it introduced me to many amazing international creators, it's also introduced me to the French and Brazilian community, who are so sweet, funny, and chaotic in their own unique ways. I love seeing fans sharing their culture and learning from one another, and I myself have learned a lot this past year. I think it's incredible how QSMP brings so many different people together – all of us united in our love and passion for this project and its goals.

But passion can often evoke strong emotions, and these strong emotions aren't always positive.

The past few months, I have seen multiple waves of hate, bad-faith generalizations of communities, and racist remarks directed at fellow fans – especially those who are part of the French / Brazilian community. This kind of behavior is inexcusable, and is in direct conflict with the mission of QSMP, which is to break language barriers and unite communities.

We are a global community with a variety of people from different backgrounds. Miscommunications may occasionally occur because of cultural differences and/or language barriers, but we should use these moments as opportunities to learn and engage with other people rather than assuming the worst about them and starting fights.

Although certain issues can be resolved with communication, sometimes it’s better to block and move on. Avoid spreading negativity or hate, and save yourself the headache of interacting with people who are just looking for someone to argue with.

No matter what community we're a part of or what languages we speak, we're all here to have fun. Please remember to be kind to each other. We have more in common than we have in conflict.

“The usual. For a double or triple or quadruple—or whatever type of agent she is—Nikki doesn’t encrypt her files as much as she should. I’ve already sent the juicy stuff to Patty.”

“Nice.” Giving a nod, Mac pulls a spare wheeled chair toward Riley’s desk and sits down. “What’re you doing now, then?”

“Oh, just having some fun.”

“Should I ask?”

“Probably not, but I’ll tell you anyway.”

With a poorly contained smile, Mac says, “Go for it.”

“After getting the goods out of her laptop, I hacked into her phone. Weakest wifi password in the history of ever, by the way.”

“Noted.”

“And she’s been listening to Spotify for the past three or so hours, so if I were to guess, she’s probably doing some other task while listening to music in the background.”

Mac gives another nod, still not exactly sure where this is going.

“So, like I said, I decided to have a little fun, and I wrote up some quick code this morning before you and Jack got here.”

“Code for what?”

“Basically,” Riley starts, “I made it so randomly in the middle of her songs, Spotify will pause itself.”

“Is that… it?”

“Yep.”

“Riley, what the fuck?”

Turning her head away from the monitor, she looks at Mac. “What, I can’t have some fun? When I wasn’t doing hacktivist stuff, this is basically all I’d do.”

A stuttered laugh escapes Mac before he can stop it. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen this side of you.”
