If you like birds then you prob already know this, but the reason owls are so quiet is because their feathers are made different from most birds!! They don’t make flapping sound and are literally silent when they fly, except for the quiet take off and landing. Their wings are way larger than their body, letting them glide for longer without the need to flap, which while silent can still cause subtle noise!!! Barn owls are also the owl with the BEST hearing!!!
