oc (x canon) - trooper AU

This is just a silly little thing that kept bugging my mind. Cori being part of the 8th division instead of being a bath house lady. There are female trooper cards for Seonhee and Kaoru etc. so why not. A great excuse to play dress up with her.

Been talking to Mimi about this but the idea is just so angsty. In her canon Cori didn't know much about what exactly Todo was doing while on duty or during certain operations, right? She didn't ask, he didn't tell. That made his death all the more sudden for her. Sure, there was the fire in Kyo and the green haori was suspect, so there were signs of things going on in the background but still.

(don't ask me how she got here BUT)

And yet the seemingly inevitable happens, he dies and she's end up blaming herself. "Why do I even have a sword if I couldn't even protect the man I love? Why did I not go with him? Why did I not talk him out of it?"

In this AU that would change. She'd be in the known. Perhaps she'd even know about Todo's secret mission as a double agent. And it would just cause her massive anxiety all the time. Seeing something brewing on the horizon, feeling it very well that things are changing and are changing fast. Captains are dying left and right.

She'd constantly nag at Todo to stay safe, to not do anything stupid, and he'd try to calm her saying how he's been in this role for months, how it'll be fine. How they are so close to make Kondo's plan reality.

Depending on why/how she joins the Shinsengumi this could either go in a way that she reluctantly stays with them as a form of carrying on his legacy, in a "he would've wanted me to live and I'm a devoted little soldier" kinda way. OR she'd absolutely not care about anything, she'd try to desert because "what is even the point anymore", not really caring if she lives or dies.

Do you think bayonetta 4 will happen on the switch 2? I think it’s likely going to happen if they haven’t stopped all productions of bayonetta 4. I vaguely remember in the end credits they said viola’s story would continue in the next generation. Of course that could be another 15 years down the road. Though if the switch 2 doesn’t do well in its production it would be damning the bayo franchise more. I mean bayo 3 did good in sales but I wouldn’t be surprised if enough people were fed up with the ending of 3 that it would cause those people to never pick it up. I just hope viola gets more of a character and some better battle mechanics, please I just want a better reward for using the dodge button. I also hope that viola gets better customization options. Like I’m not expecting sexualized because there’s a fairly huge possibility that viola is still a child. I think costumes of viola wearing different alternative subcultures would be so cool because she has that punk style. A new sword would be nice too but I’m far more focused on weapon variety. Also if they bring back demon slaves some other demons that viola has contracts with would be cool. Also more of a focus on the faerie thing, it just seems like it was brushed over. Maybe give us some new characters, like yes they give us a new villain but like maybe a new child to escort, this series has a weird pattern with those. I know we all want cereza to be brought back, but I do think viola would be wasted potential if her story was never explored. Like thats a lot of plot armor to never show up again, and yeah Loki had that too, but it’s not so much that it weighs him down like it does viola. I think doing the whole split story thing would be a good idea for the next game, kinda like re2 did. Like still connected but they have other shit. Like viola explores her heritage and cereza kills gods, and they eventually meet up somehow. (Also yes bayo 3 technically did that but not in a way where you have to play the other’s section to move forward in the story. More like in the way where you can play the others story, and they have separate goals that eventually ends up intertwined is what I meant when thinking of how bayo 4’s story should work (I probably explained that badly)) honestly I’m too far in deep to leave this fandom also I got into this fandom because I like the art style, and I continue to do so.

I was originally gonna joke abt how me straightening out cogs's feet from my wonky pencil sketch resulted in screwing up my attempt at keeping their heights like.. proportional on the ref sheet to how I want them & stuff (unlike Amalure & Lefou's ref) but then I noticed.
