diverging from traditional vampire mythos, ginger can physically age but due to How He Is hes still stuck in the same mindset and place in life as he was when he got vampired. which serves a lot of purposes! but a big one is that everything he does is kind of worse when you consider that this is a guy who is still thinking of himself the same way he did in 7th grade. the fights with virtue (which r already supposed to be somewhat uncomfortable in how theyre portrayed) mayberrys manipulation/possession (again, already supposed to make you feel icky) and his relationship with his parents are all things made slightly more gross with the information Oh This Guy Thinks He Shouldve Died At Age 12 And Acts Like It Too

vanessa is so egregiously into ginger, both aesthetically (gingers mantis swag and visible back muscles appeals to vanessas lesbionic nature) n because theres a recognition through others sitch w/them being 2 crazy creepy crawly dykes with violently oscillating self worth and obsessive not-quite-queerplatonic relationships with dead brunette tgirls. but ginger fails so thoroughly to live up to the impression vanessa gets from his svelte vampiric form and dry demeanor and instead is constantly saying stuff like "thembo" and various lies so all that weird half-repressed attraction is just channeled into constantly thinking and saying "ginger is a detestable sex pervert and i find solace in how he is clearly worse than me at like, existing"

What is mayberry's. deal

Cracks knuckles. mayberry sweetsunn was born as the second (or third, if you want to get technical) (dont ask me about that im not explaining it) child to the sweetsunns, a somewhat affluent family circa 50. which means around 50 years ago. i have a calendar system. said family generally ignored her--her brother and sister were always the gogetters, and mayberry, being...strange from the beginning, was not a child her parents quite wanted to acknowledge . she didnt like this

the next step to this is obvi patricide. a certain mysterious force that is not pretending to me Anyones father convinced mayberry that she would be NOTICED and acknolwedged and people would see her and her name and face would dot the streets of the big cities shes never visited even though she could, if only she just--gave up a little. it wont hurt! and it didnt! but her father is now dead and her small town is small enough for everyone to know and her mother is in her room now and her siblings look at her and say "maybie, why?" and she doesnt have an answer

so...she keeps going. once youve staked the plot you might as well just dig your own grave. god-or-whoever is strong and hey, theres those ads, and hey, heres an affair with someone sharp tongued and pretty, and heres a messy breakup that puts your name even farther, and your brother has married the girl you loved and your sister starts dating the person shes always giggled at and you marry a man and youre the worst stepmother ever and your brother gets a divorce

slowly the public influence grows boring. you could probably topple a life over if you tried, and you do, its really very easy. maybe you could control one. Theres the force again ! it tells her, murky and rottinf, that you could have even more control. so she finds somevulnerable people--government-funded scientists among them, HI WAINWRIGHT PARK--and tells them nice things and were all warm bodies death calls for in the end, so what does it MATTER if you give something up now if yoy give it all up at some point? Anyways breaking from the weird poetic part of that i rambled into she gets in gingers dreams #lies like a #femalemanipulator and she ends up possessing ginger for a month. Which gives him zero problems 👍 And is framed in a really normal and comfortable way 👍 He is so normal about his own free will much like everyone in this story

i cant choose just one im incapable of making a character playlist without like 5 tmbg songs on it . "careful what you pack" is good for the melancholy parts of her character, contrecoup is EXCRUCIATINGLY vanettie, "am i awake" is about time loops so of course, "last wave" is a song about the inevitability of death over a semi-upbeat instrumentals, but i think "celebration" is the best one in general. etoiles birthday is a plot point, and celebration is about a birthday party with all your friends and looking forward to the future ahead of you. which . um . Anyways etoile playlist below ^_^
