#25. Rest / Bandages

Selfshiptober 2024 | [WC: 373] / hehe i don't have much to say about this one - it's mostly cute :3 anyways i hope you enjoy it~

"No. You're supposed to be resting," April says, pushing Feixiao back against the bed. She's careful not to press against any of the bandages hidden under the sweater her girlfriend stole from her.

Feixiao's expression shifts and she doesn't have to say anything before April shakes her head. "Don't. I'm not giving in this time, no matter how cute you are."

Her ears don't lower as much as they should, showing that Feixiao hasn't quite given up yet, despite the disappointed look on her face. "But, my beloved…"

"No," April repeats, a little sharper. Her ear twitches at how sweet the pet name is and her tail swishes behind her. It's odd for her to be the strict one. Usually, Feixiao's the one coaxing her to get up earlier, to eat healthier…

"But…" She amends as her girlfriend's ears lower properly against her head, hating to upset her. "I'll cuddle with you the whole time, and we can go for a walk later."

She understands completely the urge to get up and move around. Aeons, she feels it herself when there's a particularly clear night - like the moon and stars are calling for her to be out under them.

But she will not let Feixiao overdo it and potentially reopen her wounds. Not when Jiaoqiu has put her in charge of making sure she rests.

"Yeah?" Feixiao asks, perking up a little. If she had a tail, too, it would be wagging eagerly.

"Mm-hmm. However long you want, but when you start getting tired, we head back."

"Sounds good to me!" She laughs and tugs April closer, laughing softly at the careful way she settles in her arms. Her wolf, always the careful one. "But for now… I need those cuddles."

April's lips quirk up and she snuggles into her mate carefully. "And cuddles you shall have, my darling."

After all, she's still craving all the cuddles she missed while Feixiao was away on the battlefield.

Feixiao makes a contented sound and noses at one of her ears, smiling a little when it twitches at the contact. "Good." Her grip tightens around April the best she's able, and she lets out a soft sigh.

Maybe resting won't be so bad like this…
