Hi this is where I talk a bunch about ocs :D

I dont have a lot of time lately to talk abt lore but i still think abt my guys whenever i have some chill time to myself, so here's some patch notes. This is also just me thinking out loud haha

CD:

ive been playing w some changes for CD and seeing if they stick :] gonna make the story slightly more complex and the sides of the conflict also different (for example I am going to make hades and talas full on enemies at first along with connon, caval and silas >:3 (and I am also making silas and his monster form two separate characters so the lion (hal) is now a mount instead))

Specifically what I've been thinking about is making Hades either a ship captain or a first mate for a rogue ship. The deal with Hades is that he comes from a renowned family from Redbridge and is a disgrace to them. In previous versions of CD they were artisans but that never rly clicked for me, and recently I have been reworking Redbridge into a naval empire to add some 🤏spice 🤏to the world, which would mean Hades' family is actually a naval captain family putting him next in line to be one of them but since his thing is being a disgrace he takes off and becomes a rogue. And instead of hating leviathans he fucking hates hunters instead. Conversely, I think with these changes Talas would also NOT be inclined to kill hunters (or at least not as often as he currently does). He'd pick fights with the naval fleet and other similar factions instead which is more like his character.

I also wanna try and bring back an older concept I had where connon's ship was able to both become fully submerged (like the subs in sunless sea where her character originated from) and this other idea I had where a ship could split in half into two smaller ships. Like if a catamaran could split into two and flank a vessel on both sides. But we'll see if I can make this work x)

Dragons (broken horizon + extinction):

I vaguely mentioned this a while ago as well but I've also been thinking abt my dragons and how I kinda want them to all be in one world/setting, which includes both my broken horizon guys (cer, jarek, octane, etc) and my extinction guys (alex, c, orion, etc) but I dont know how to deal with all of the conflicting lore and themes.

Because for extinction the big theme is there are people who can turn into dragons, and technically all of the dragons' powers are based on energy (for lore reasons). Meanwhile for my other dragons I have a few different elements or other ways of using fire (eg instead of using straight up fire/energy, my oc Jarek can breathe out gas only and ignites it with his mandibles).

I miss all my dragons a lot so I kinda wanted to make a world for them where I could have them Vibe and do different stories in so I thought about having a dragon-only universe but unfortunately Extinction has a pretty huge human element that I cant just eliminate.

It feels counterintuitive, i know the first logical choice is 'just let them be different things' but I genuinely feel like the right choice is to put them both together so the characters can interact and the whole story can be deeper because as it is both are really shallow and I would really like for them to work together so that's what I've been picking at for some months now (it's um. been real slow)

For these two stories I do have two different vibes though that I've been wondering how to weave together nicely bc they overlap for some characters. For broken horizon I had flying and aerial racing as a big theme (and some of the chars in extinction would be rly into that) and for extinction I had dragon arena fights as a big theme (and some of the characters in bh would be rly into that) both of these is another of the reasons why I wanted to put them both together bc it feels like they can fit very well I just have to find the right idea for them to click and then itll be smooth sailing -w-

I also wanted to talk abt this in hopes that talking abt all the dragons gets me to think more about them as well

I wanted to make this post bc I've been really busy lately and rly absent from here in general and I don't have as much time to draw (or even think abt ocs) anymore but I still wanted to keep posted about what's been going on in my head and hopefully get some eyes on it and maybe even some feedback if anyone is so inclined

One of the things I love about SNW (though some of the fandom is totally bitching about it) is how thin Kirk looks, not cause I prefer him that way, but he almost looks underweight? An impression I didn't get of Paul Wesley in tvd! And between this, the episodes in which Bones places Jim on a diet in TOS, and Jim's being overweight in older movies give me the impression that JIm is bad at regulating his food intake, body weight, and probably does have some food disorders as a result of Tarsus!

“I sympathize with your nurse, you know” Garak is saying, his tone oh-so-serious and sincere, “Of course, I can’t say I’ve been bitten by a Klingon, but I’ve certainly been bitten.” He reminds him. “By a child,” Julian counters, “And if memory serves, which you know mine does, you were very dramatic about the whole affair- you would’ve thought you were dying with all the whining you were doing.” He recalls. “It hurt!” Garak exclaims, indignant. Julian chuckles. “I’ve been bitten before, Garak,” He tells him, “By much stronger jaws than those of a Cardassian child. I would’ve thought a former operative of the Obsidian Order would have thicker skin than that.” He teases. “Ah, but you forget, my dear Doctor,” Garak also adopts the teasing tone, Julian can hear the smirk he has on his face, “I had that infernal device implanted so that pain was a non-issue.” He says smugly, like he’s just won an argument. Julian rolls his eyes, and he hopes it comes through in his tone. “Believe me, I couldn’t possibly forget that,” He replies. Then a thought strikes him, and his brow furrows, “Hold on,” He says, “Didn’t you still have that implant when that child bit you?” He asks. Garak’s bravado has never deflated so fast. “Ah, well-“  “You shouldn’t have felt the pain at all!” Julian accuses, sitting up a bit on Garak’s back, “You faked that reaction, didn’t you?” Garak’s tail lashes. Julian swears he sees a blue blush rising on his cheeks. “I had to be convincing.” He huffs. Julian is absolutely not letting him off the hook. “You acted like you’d had your hand bitten clean off, you melodramatic serpent!”  “Were you not injured, Doctor, I would drop you.” Garak grumbles moodily, and Julian only laughs at him for sulking.

so me n sibling finished rise rewatch with all the newfound turtle lore after our big tmnt media binge......... many feelings i wanna get out

firstable........ how anyone watched this show and didnt think those were the ninja turtles in purest form i will never understand. like you cannot deny any of these characters being the same characters but with new roles to fill. raph is the protector. mikey is the heart. leo is the strategist. donnie is the brain. it just created a new dynamic, but never strayed very far from what came before

second....... take the ninja turtles and just hammer home a story about generational trauma and healing from it, giving them strength from how much they love and trust each other.... you break my heart wide open i am crying

to me they are the best amalgamation of all the turtles who came before them like: silly and sweet like 87, they have this close familial understanding unconditional love like 03, and this overarching story of bringing a family back together like 12

started this watch of all turtle media because rise on its own felt so good, but having gone back and seen all the other pieces i was missing makes me appreciate what it was doing more, because i felt every other series and movie in this one in spirit, but with the ideals of the modern cartoon saying: hey kids, its okay to ask for help, youre not alone, your feelings matter, and the people around you should support you

and on top of that, obviously the most visually stunning version to date, utilizing years of lessons learned from western cartoons and anime, meshing together in breathtaking action, but also having the most hilariously snappy comedic animation that uses what seem like cheap movements of a frame to make every line of dialogue all the more hysterical, and having these very expressive characters be able to be very subtle in the touching emotional moments.

i genuinely love this show so much and i feel really stupid for not having watched it sooner, and the fact it is the shortest of all the shows that never got the chance to finish its story makes me so sad. but at least what story it did get to tell was beautiful.

Nope! <3 it shows such a lack of willingness to do even Basic Research that would take maybe two seconds to look up that it makes me want to Kill. like. cmon. he has Fangs because he's half-spider...,,.,

They're hollow, and whenever he Bites People, it is specifically with the intent to POISON them with the VENOM from his FANGS-- he also Says That every time he does it, like he's an anime character, lol, and it means a lot to me. we don't know the exact makeup or potency of his venom, but we Do know that it's fast-acting, paralytic, and (apparently, thankfully) non-toxic, at least.

i just realized why i keep getting stuck while writing and being overwhelmed by possibilities.

imagine you have a script, and you give this script to five different directors. the plot would be the same, yes, but every movie would be different. they all have their own ways of shooting a film and telling a story. the visuals, the sounds, the feeling would be different. it'd eventually be the same story, but a different movie still.

when i start writing i feel the same way. which way do i go??? there is a thousand ways to describe this thing, this scene, which one do i choose... i may write a whole paragraph then stop n think "a different writer would've written this way better" and so i quit. don't even bother trying
