Whenever I make a pixel art in rblx, I DO NOT put the name of the character and the process is mostly done in a private server to avoid ppl asking too many questions.

Names like Kylar, Sydney or Whitney are VERY recognizable, so I instead put a random title like Kylar's "Unknown" named piece or "Double faced" for Sydney.

In case someone asks about it in the times I am working on it in a public server, I DO NOT say the game's name and I only answer saying it's an OC.

In case you do things similar to me, PLEASE do not put the character's name nor disclose the game's name. No one there will know who the character is unless you tell them or put a hint in the title, which you should NOT do.

Since it's a small game and people just say 'Ohh, pretty art. Like.', there are not many problems. Only one has asked about it, and I've answered as I said above.

Now, why am I bringing this up?

Because there is an username in TikTok tagging, mentioning the character's game and leading SEVERAL minors to discover it.

I've found out about this on twitter. And they are DOUBLING DOWN on it mentioning there's worse stuff on tiktok (which there is. But you are not making it better by adding to it)

There are comments from minors saying they enjoy the game, and it's really freaking me out.

Sure, tiktok is not solely a place for minors. But the sole fact that minors have already COMMENTED in those videos and YOU are aware that they recognize the game + actively ask about it in the comments is the problem. (That without mentioning that the username laughed about it and then said something like 'Ughh, fine. I'll put a +18 warning. Does that make it right?' BRO, YOU DIDNT EVEN PUT IT BEFORE??)

Even if it's SFW content, it still comes from a RAPE GAME. PLEASE DON'T MENTION THE NAME OF THE GAME IN SPACES WHERE YOU CAN'T CONTROL YOUR AUDIENCE.

Every time I see an author promoting their debut Greek mythology retelling on twitter I mourn the loss of like. To put in ineloquently. Just using these stories as inspiration for your own. Your story does not need to force itself to fit the shape of Orpheus and Eurydice it’s fine you can just allude to their story!! You can use their themes!! Oh, I didn’t know that.

I was listening to Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” on youtube, and browsing the comments several people mentioned …

Okay. The song is about the real sinking of the freighter the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior in 1975. And there’s a line in the song:

“In the Maritime Sailor’s Cathedral,

The Church Bell chimed till it rang twenty nine times,

For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald”

Which references something that the actual Maritime Church in Detroit did in honour of the ship’s crew. And I just found out in those youtube comments for his song that when Gordon Lightfoot died in May last year (2023), the Maritime Church rang those bells again, this time 30 times. Once for every man on the Edmund Fitzgerald, and once more for Gordon Lightfoot.

That’s … That is a memorial I would be proud to have earned. And proud to give. I do like that. A lot.

Apparently, the Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior also lit its beacon in honour of him.

Sorry. I’m having … extremely maritime sort of feelings over here. Songs and memorials, bells and beacons, and the ways we carry memory forward. That’s … that’s a good memorial. I like that.
