MC: Look, I understand that being sent to a new place can be scary; I've been in that situation before. But can’t you at least consider the fact that Skully is the only person we can depend on in this world?

Sebek: That's easy for you to say, human!

Sebek: You won't lose anything if you make a mistake!

Jade: Oh dear, I think you shouldn't have said that.

MC: ...

MC: Grim, hold my tie.

Grim: Huh, what—

Jamil and Riddle: HEY! NO FIGHTING!

Skully: ...

Skully: I’m really sorry. It’s my fault that you and your friends got into a fight.

MC: Nahhh. We're like this almost everyday. Especially since Sebek and I are both first years.

MC: By the way, you're a fan of Jack Skellington, right?

Skully: Why, yes! I've been a devout follower of Jack-sama!

MC: Then, might it be possible that you have watched the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas? Oh, wait. Wouldn't that be considered a documentary in this world?

Skully: ...

Skully: There's a movie about Jack-sama? 🥹

MC: Uh, yes?

Skully: *fanboys* Please, I would love to hear all about this movie!

MC: Uhh...

Skully: We should talk about it since you seem to be an avid fan of Ms. Sally.

MC: ...

MC: Shit. How did you know?

Skully: We're kins!

OKAY WAIT. (i only have a loose idea of the tnbc event thanks to translations BUT WHAT IF)

Skully is one of the few members of Ramshackle Dorm, & during a trip to Foothill Town, he stumbles across the Nightmare Before Christmas book. He's sucked in and meets the NRC students. The story plays out and he's sent back to his time, centuries before any of his new friends are born.

He doesn't know this, of course, having forgotten everything. But there's this feeling of want in his chest, not only for a grand Halloween (a day full of life for the dead, much different from his previous ideals) but also for a friend.

He's always longed for friends, but why does his heart ache like he just lost one?

It takes some time, maybe a few weeks, as he tries to decipher his thoughts and feelings to figure out what's wrong. He spends most of his time planning the perfect Halloween to bring the holiday back onto the calendar; something more inviting, something that'll spread the joy he's recently begun to feel about the holiday.

"What gets people up and running? Hm... Perhaps music? Haunting and jaunty melodies would suffice... Why not dance as well...?!"

"Oh, I do adore a pitch-black pallet, but... There's no harm in adding color, right? It's all the rage these days anyways... Perhaps orange, to match pumpkins would be a good start?"

He's not quite sure where these ideas came from, but the ghosts of Ramshackle seem enthusiastic when he shares his thoughts. He has no one else to listen to his plans, and decides, what's the harm with talking to the ghosts? (The ghosts are pleasantly surprised at Skully's change of heart, and will do all they can to encourage this new path.)

Eventually, Skully begins to remember bits and pieces of his time in the book ("I could never forget an encounter with the lovely Jack-sama!" He says. Really, it's the idea of the friends he made that claw the event to the front of his mind).

Most of all, he remembers a magicless human. Oh, how sweet they were, even when he made some rash decisions. Among all the boys in his tale, the beast tamer was his closest companion—even if it were only for a little while.

He recounts the adventure in the book as best he can to the ghosts, seeing as no one else could believe him. A magical book that takes you far away? Who ever heard of that? The ghosts hang on his every word, laughing and gasping at the wonderous characters in Skully's story.

Halloween is a hit at NRC, and once he graduates, Skully decides to share Halloween with the rest of the world. The ghosts wave their old friend goodbye and safe travels, watching him part with spectral tears in their eyes.

The years pass, with Skully now departing from this world, and Ramshackle has fallen into ruin.

Until one day, a magicless beast tamer arrives in Twisted Wonderland, and is sent to live in Ramshackle.

The ghosts are overjoyed at having company after so long, but they can't help but be excited for a different reason.

After all, the King of Halloween's dearest friend has finally appeared.

Skully hates ghosts because he lost someone by them?

I was watching the Nightmare before christmas event, so I think, what if if Skully hate the "bad" ghosts because he lost someone he loved with a ghost.

I mean, HE IS SO ROMANTIC! I think, as Rollo maybe, He loved someone (someone like Sally hah) but he lost him/she (?), he absolutely hate bad ghosts in the chapter 2-5 he said:

"Good Ghosts are not the problem, the ghosts who does bad things are a trouble for the gorgeous Halloween" "Theyre bad criatures who disturb Halloween doing mischievouness. Its natural for their behavior they would be punished!"

Im not pretty good making theories...maybe I need help or, while the event advances may I can finish it with more if we dont get an answer.

Design Notes!

I absolutely LOVE the scratchy gothic style mixed with the elegance of 1920s fashion so this one was a lot of fun

Yuu is based on both Sally and the other boys' designs in this event

Sally's leggings and the inner part of her hat but desaturated to have Yuu's design more coherent with the guys

Since Haze wanted nods to Sally, I thought of a mafia donna. The inspo is a mix of Lady Dimestreau from Resident Evil and a 1920s lady's fashion magazine

Pin-stripes and stitches!

Tattered edges to give the spooky vibes

I wanted to give her a big ass coat but then her torso looked too busy so the tattered veil is attached to her hat through the hat pin

The colour palette is desaturated from her usual design

Jack Skellington's bow/skeletal hand pose on her hat

Darker, more gauntly make-up

Spider web necklace because Halloween Town LOVES spiders while the choker is there to mimic Sally's neck stitches

I like to think that Skully's UM turns people into Jack-o-lanterns immediately because he's 16 he's still developing it.

I like to think it gets more horrifying when he's older, and it's more developed. Maybe it turns people into pumpkins slowly, for the sheer fear factor of it. Feet turning into roots and the rest bursting into vines and tough skin and swelling up until you're a pumpkin. Coraline movie other-father kind of thing.

I like to think that if he tried and blew out the light in the jack-o-lantern, it could do anything from weakness/magic loss to fatality.

I like to think the area around him would go dark, or that whoever it's cast upon would get a little blinded, because Scary Night , and leave them to watch in terror as they see themselves (see easily, because of the pumpkin's orange, because of the light), how they twist and turn into grotesque pumpkin people before becoming jack-o-lanterns.

Basically progression to more fearful execution over time.
