Oh I think he likes calling to check up on you. Comes over with food and maybe pizza sometimes because your son loves the one he buys at his usual pizza place. 🎻- Anyways, Shu would be best matched with someone that would try their best at any given game, especially if they're competitive

☕️- He needs someone strategic and communicative so they can conspire together on ways to win

☕️- Reiji's best match would be someone who's competitive but also cunning. Ooh and never let him feel like you're the one in charge, he'll go crazy

🏀- He would want someone as arrogant and competitive as him, but is that what he needs? Absolutely not

🏀- Ayato needs someone level headed that can help balance out their team dynamic in order to win

🏀- He needs someone that'll see the flaws in his mistakes and take accountability for HIM because I have no idea if you could even convince him he even made a mistake in the first place

🏀- In short, Ayato needs someone to save that burning ship he's on

🏀- You need to be in control without specifically admitting you're in control, you need to be sneaky about it and make it seem like HE'S the one who came up with those ideas

🏀- The best example I can think of is when you're playing pictionary, you whisper something REALLY close to what the actual thing is and have him come up with the answer himself

🃏- Laito's best match would be someone who's a bit laid back and playful

🃏- While we all know Laito's extremely smart and can read people well, we need someone to bring out that side of him rather than takeover and never have him put his skills to use

🃏- He needs someone that'll force him to take the lead otherwise everything would just be a big joke to him and unless it's a game he likes, he genuinely does not care

🃏- You need to kind of be a Shu in this case

🃏- What I mean by this is, you need to tease him a bit, make him feel just the inciest bit insecure about his game skills. Tease him, make jabs at him, play mindlessly into the opponent's hands

🃏- Hmm this example would best describe what I mean. Imagine you're playing a game of Ludo and you roll a six and instead of moving your piece out of the way before it gets "eaten", you choose the option to unlock another of your pieces to the game. He goes nuts after your like 3rd time of this and subtly starts giving advice despite cussing you out in his mind

Kanato Sakamaki

🧸- Someone patient for sure but also extremely determined

🧸- You need to essentially gentle parent him to the finish line

🧸- Don't get mad at him when he makes a dumb move but let him scold you because you did

🧸- Kanato would work well with someone that's headstrong and has a clear view of victory. He needs someone he can trash talk the other players to, regardless if they're his brothers or not

🧸- Aside from him being batshit insane, he'd be a fun person to play with. He's smart and calculated in the emotional aspect of the game and he can read his players really well

🧸- He knowsss how to get under their skin and might even have a freak out if someone calls him out. Of course none of it is real, but what the others said DID hurt his feelings (just maybe not to that extent truthfully)

🧸- Kanato would work well with someone willing to put up with his antics, someone who's patient and well versed in the game they're playing

🧸- The only example for this scenario I can think of is imagine you guys are playing checkers or chess and Kanato stands behind you while outwardly critiquing your opponent's every flaw and making disappointed noises and distracting them purposely

Subaru Sakamaki

��- Similar to Kanato, he needs someone patient

🥀- Obviously his anger will be an issue, but you also need to be smart to be able to point out the flaws in his moves and communicate to him ways to win

🥀- See Subaru would pair great with someone that can tell him what to do clearly and precisely

🥀- You need to be the brains to his brawns, you need to think and act quickly

🥀- You also need to shit talk his brothers with him

🥀- Maybe they made a stupid move, why not try lightening the mood with some loud whispering about them

🥀- Subaru would act like he doesn't like the idea of game night, but by the time he has the dice in his hand, he's folded. And because of this, he needs someone that can have fun with him

🥀- He needs someone playful but yet a person that can lock in at any given moment

🥀- Even if you guys don't win, he'll make a comment on how fun it was in the end

🥀- Example wise, I can honestly only think of you guys playing Snakes and Ladders and you shake the desk while the dice rolls to give someone the exact number they need to get eaten by a snake and he's just in the background backing you up and vouching for you that you didn't do it, meanwhile he's trying so hard not to laugh his ass off

Going with my timeline, Hatake Haruka was 49 when she had Sakumo, a good 5 years into Konoha's creation.

Meanwhile her twin sister had Hashirama at only 19, and Tobirama at 24.

(There's some sort of joke to be made here about her sister getting all the fertility in the family)

So like, super easy timeline tweak: Haruka just gives birth way, way earlier. Maybe at the same time as her sister has Hashirama, so they're the same age

Anyways I don't have any specific thoughts for this. Just like. Sakumo in warring states. I wish to see it.

Sakumo being raised by the Hatake clan as their heir instead of growing up orphaned at 7 with his entire clan dead overnight,,, ough,,

He grows up in the woods of iron country, acompanies his mother to Iron Court that fateful day that the Daimyo began to crack down on Iron shinobi clans,, Does this mean he replaced someone in the original party that went or is he just there alongside them?

Tetsuo is no longer clan heir, which is also part of what got most of the kids his age to stop picking on him. (Well, that and the fact he started beating them up for it) So does that mean the teasing continues for some more years than it would have otherwise? What's his place in the clan like, if he isn't heir? I feel like Haruka might still single him out as someone to keep an interested eye on, and his father is still one of Haruka's most trusted people, so.

Tetsuo and Sakumo friendship,,,, that'd be an interesting change in dynamic actually, since in the original Tetsuo kind of acts as an older brother / uncle figure. He's supposed to raise Sakumo after Haruka goes and dies, (tho ofc he also then goes and dies) was training him to be clan heir— but now in this AU they're like. Around the same age. Actually, if anything, Sakumo is older than him. That's fun to think about

Umm Sakumo maybe taking Tetsuo under his wing when they're kids and helping discourage the other kids from picking on him? That could be fun and also just an interesting flip in dynamic

Tetsuo is no longer Haruka's second, now he's Sakumo's in this verse ig

Anyways.

Sakumo having Kakashi around or some time before Konoha's founding ,,, Kakashi is one of the first Konoha kids, let's go

Let's say he's like. 5 when Kagami and friends are like. 10. Does that work? I think that fits in with the timeline but this is a silly what if AU so I'm not going to worry about it too hard

Kakashi being friends with Hashirama and Mito's kid,,, whoever tf they are. They'd be like. 6 to his 5, so. Childhood friends!! And cousins, actually. That's another fun thing to think about.

"Kakashi is actually directly related to the founders" aus are so fun but u know what's even MORE fun? When u take one of those aus and make it like. A relevant relationship we get to see on screen in some way.

Tobirama babysitting Kakashi and Hashirama's kid,, he is winning all the best uncle awards

Anyways yeah. I feel like Sakumo's presence would have to affect things somehow, but I'm mostly just having fun thinking ab the silly day to day. Maybe we could get second hokage Sakumo instead of Tobirama out of this or smthn, idk.

Sakumo and Kakashi existing somehow manages to save enough clan members for the Hatake to survive to modern Konoha, totally changing the political map.

Maybe he somehow manages to prevent Hyuuga Hiname's poisoning, meaning she actually manages to become clan head and begins to dismantle the caged bird seal? Or maybe he doesn't and gets to be one of the people who allied themselves w Hiname who are forced to look on as she's not so secretly killed for her beliefs, unable to interfere bc of it being an "inter clan matter"

Or maybe his interference affects when Madara left the village, giving Konoha a few more (or maybe less...) years of peace (if we go with the idea that the jinchuriki being created sped up the first shinobi war)

Still thinking about this post and continuing to be frustrated about Elsie, and how poorly developed her relationship with Eris and Drifter is, and how underutilized their friendship is in general.

Thinking about the intersections of their lives. Elsie knows Eris and Drifter, even if they don't know her. Elsie has faced off against Eris at her worst, and now stands at her side at her best. Elsie has found Drifter dead as he desperately and selfishly tried to survive, and now he's alive, more sure of himself, more willing to look out for his friends.

And Eris and Drifter don't know Elsie at first, but they must trust her for their collective survival — for humanity, the Traveler and the Light, if they are to use Darkness against Darkness.

Thinking about the parallels of their stories. Elsie, who like Eris trapped in the Pit, has pressed on day after day, held onto hope against better reason, who finally finds a way out, traumatized, changed, but wiser. Elsie, who like Drifter, has lived by different names and identities, has endured betrayal, and withstood apocalypse.

Thinking about these three as the three who transcended their design, as foretold by The Nine. The hourglass counting down with infinite patience, the forgotten blade sharpened anew, and the dredgen. Their meeting is not just happenstance, but fate.

How satisfying it would have been for them to find in each other what they lost or never had. For Elsie, friends to walk at her side as she escapes the cycle and faces an unknown future. For Eris, a fireteam; not a replacement for her lost comrades, but a chance to make new ones. And Drifter gets a crew he will neither be betrayed by nor forced to betray — learning the real meaning of trust.

I think a catastrophic disservice has been done to all three by focusing on Eris' and Drifter's relationship, all but cutting Elsie out of the picture. It would have been so much more powerful to have Eris send a radio message to Elsie and Drifter talking about how their friendship helped her aspire to more than survival. Imagine if all three continued their studies of the Pyramid and its technology together, continuing the arc first started in Beyond Light. (This one is shockingly egregious for being set on Europa and hand-waving Elsie away to focus on Eris and Drifter — as the fandom does.) What if Elsie and Drifter had visited Eris together in Season of the Witch, what if Elsie had told Eris that she trusted her despite the terror she felt at Eris picking up the mantle of hive god as she had in all her dark futures, instead of getting into fights with Ikora over it?

These are relatively small tweaks to the narrative that would have kept Elsie relevant beyond her role as emotional support sister to Ana, would have added depth to all three, and truly established them as a "Dark" mirror to the Vanguard. I'm heartened that all three were together at the final battle, but it sucks that we got zero development of their relationship between their fight with House Salvation in BL, and the very end of TFS.

No bc I'm so mad rn I usually post my rants on ig stories but I need the tumblrites to tell me if I'm crazy or what. Jwcc/ct spoilers WHATEVER

First of all I want to preface this by saying that this is just my opinion on the matter, I'm not saying your headcanons are "wrong" or whatever tf, it's a kids cartoon where they unironically use terms like "fam". You can play with the characters however you'd like.

That being said, this is why TO ME it does not makes sense for Ben to be anything other than gay. Again, if you think he's bi or straight or anything else that's cool. I'm also leaning towards the opinion that he does actually have a girlfriend. I don't think the shows gonna pull a 180 on it because, realistically, 2 queer characters is already a lot for a DreamWorks kids show. As much as I'd like it not to be.

But, since the beginning, Ben has been very clearly coded as exclusively into men to me. Before finally going into it, I remind everyone on here that I'm a lesbian. I have felt an affinity with his character specifically for the experience of only liking the same gender. I might be totally projecting.

Ok, so.

1. The arc Ben goes through during the show is yes, one of self discovery, but also one of self acceptance. He changes a lot from the start of s1, but he also comes to terms with stuff himself or other people didn't like about him. He doesn't throw the dork pouch away or tells Kenji to keep it, the first thing he does when he takes it back from Kenji is put on hand sanitizer. He is covered in dirt, he's not afraid of filth anymore, but he still does that action because it's part of who he is as a person. He also becomes very unashamed at the things he does. He went from being embarrassed of his carob bars to eating grubs in front of people who he knows think it's gross. He knows himself as he is and he accepts it. To me (and to lots of other people) this works very well as a gay metaphor, and pairs up pretty nicely with the whole "jungle boy? Jungle MAN" arc being a trans metaphor. But how does this make Ben uniquely into men?

Well, it doesn't. But I think this next one does.

2. Enter Yasmina. She's pretty, she's smart, athletic, funny, all that good stuff. I'm not saying that means every wlm character should automatically be into her, but it certainly helps. Now forgive me if I don't remember specific episodes/seasons, but we all remember that episode where Ben convinces himself that Yaz is in love with him for some reason. When he "rejects" her, he says : "I'm just now starting to find myself". That's cool, cause I'm pretty sure Ben's " finding himself " personality wise was over and done a couple of seasons ago. To me, that is a really good hint at him dealing with his gayness.

3. He's also the first person Yasmina talks to about her feelings for Sammy. Now, in this particular context, the options for Yaz to talk to were Darius, Brooklynn, or Ben. It would initially seem to make more sense for her to confide in Brooklynn, since the two of them are far closer than her and Ben, and it also wouldn't be the first time she brings up Sammy as a romantic interest for Yaz (see: everyone tweaking abt that one line back in like s2). So why does Yasmina, a very private and reserved person, choose Ben to talk to about her same sex crush? She has probably gathered from the previous conversation that Ben relates to her struggle in a unique way in which Brooklynn just can't. Ben seems very receptive of what Yaz is saying ("feelings, am I right?") and it seems like he REALLY gets where she's coming from.

4. This is one I don't see talked about a lot, and maybe it's just cause I'm too out of the loop with the fandom, but I want to examine it as well. It's when Ben decides to not actually stay on the island. Everyone (except Sammy) already knew he wasn't going to stay in the end, but still didn't force him out. I think this is especially clear in a line Darius says when they reunite on the boat that goes something like "you needed to figure it out on your own" *smile hand on shoulder combo*. No explanation needed I think

Jean Grey rethinks her life while dying

As she's bleeding out at the last Hellfire Gala with Moira's knife through her breast, Jean asks 'where did I go wrong?'

Little cuties

Using Phoenixology, she explores major decisions in her life as a kind of What if? The first scenario she imagines is the O5 keeping their memories from the time older Beast bought them to the future. Bobby gets to stay out of the closet, though it doesn't impact the story.

Chuck pushes back against the idea, but Jean's telepathy is at full strength and he can't force the issue. The rest of the team trust her.

The first big divergence comes when Magneto attacks Manhattan. After some back and forth Jean just shuts his brain down. Xavier would absolutely do that, lol. In fact, he has. Scott is not impressed by that.

Charles is so mad about this he kicks them out, choosing to spend his time trying to restore Mags. The X-Men, out from under Xavier's influence, go public to try and get ahead of the hate - establish themselves as superheroes. Jean becomes more and more comfortable with what Scott calls 'mind tweaks.'

They look to tackle the issue of mutant manifestations and the inherent risk. On site for a young mutant exploding shit, they rescue who they can but Jean opts for a cover up. I find it unlikely that forensics would be able to uncover the lie if they did it correctly, but they do. Also, Jean threatens the team with psychic tampering and bonds begin to fray.

Their conversation is interrupted by Trask's sentinels attacking them in downtown Manhattan. How TF did he get whoever to sign off on this? It looks dangerous as hell. The X-Men escape and pivot to using future knowledge of mutant manifestations to grab them first, starting with Kitty Pryde.

Kitty's parents... come around and they do the same for Mirage and Cannonball. Tensions are really fraying re: Jean's methods and she doesn't look too happy.

They take the kids to Chuck, who's surprisingly passive about everything. I guess his X-Men experiment going bad quite quickly (from his perspective) affected him. Mags looks washed up AF though, oof. Chuck challenges Jean by asking the rest of the team if they're still with her, and to her surprise and anger they're not. There's a bit more to it than that, Scott is the last to leave after she shuts down Hank's brain. Magneto is like 'I love your work but you really need to murder more people. Think about it.'

Jean says fuck it and calls to the Phoenix early, then starts rampaging harder than Magneto. After some effective uses of girl power the X-Men decide they have to try to stop her. Mags is like 'no, not like that!'

The rest of the O5 + Mags suit up in Magneto helmets and face her head on. They look cool AF, but the situation quickly escalates causing a ton of damage. I really empathize with Mags wearing his helmet if the alternative is Chuck's big bald astral head moralising at you constantly. Jean gets real mad and kills everyone on the planet. At this point she realises maybe this What If? isn't working out too well, lol. Good to know.

I know I already did this but I wanted to make it better and add some other headcanons I had about this idea so here you go! Some are the same as the old one, some have been tweaked and some are new headcanons I wanted to add

CHAI AS A DAD HEADCANONS:

•The baby would almost be a carbon copy of Chai with one or two features from his S/O

•He would be a boy dad (idk why but I feel like he would(im not hinting that he had a boy in my tomodachi life what))

•Chai would try to play it cool during the birth (his poor hand) but as soon as he sees the baby resting on his S/O, he would break and maybe cry (happy tears of course)

•He would be kinda nervous about holding the baby but once he holds them he will NOT let them go

•Chai: "Holy crap! I'm a dad now... I'm gonna be the coolest dad ever! And this little dude gonna be the coolest kid ever!"

•With his musical robot powers he would be in charge of both bedtimes and naptimes cause the baby would knock tf out when in Chai's arms

•During his S/O pregnancy the baby would only really kick or move when Chai puts his robot arm on your baby bump

•When he finds out that his S/O's is pregnant he'd be nervous and a little scared about it but after awhile he'll be chill about it, excited even (this might help with his inferiority complex a bit idk)

•Chai would have to take parental classes and read the baby book cause he would be quite clueless about this stuff even though he claims he's a pro with children (sorry Chai but you are a little stupid /lh)

•I think he would be actually pretty good with the baby minus changing the baby's nappy/diaper

•He'd attempt it but he would struggle and eventually cave in and call his S/O for help

•He would LOVE to dress the baby! He'd put them in lots of cool/cute onsies

•He has a matching shirt for him and the baby that has something like "big rockstar" "little rockstar" on it

•If he got one of those baby front carrier things he would constantly wear it and show off the little dude like the proud dad he is

•When the baby is still a newborn he would take them to the hideout to meet the tea-m (of course he'd show the newborn to 808 first)

•His S/O finds Chai asleep either on the bed or sofa snoring with the baby laying on his chest or resting in his arm also asleep (S/O definitely takes a couple of photos cause it's cute)

•When the baby gets a little older Chai would form a little two person band with him playing his guitar and the baby on drums (banging on random toys or kitchen utensils) and/or sing (making noises)

•I can imagine the baby dancing or doing the toddler bounce to Nine Inch Nails or The Glass Pyramids

•The baby would be accident prone like Chai but instead of nearly getting killed they trip on thin air or run into walls even if they're ultra careful (poor baby ^^;)

•Chai would have so many "conversations" with the little dude once they start cooing/making noises and he could put on a slight baby voice like he kinda does with 808 occasionally in the game

•Chai: "Who's my little rockstar huh?"

•Baby: "Ooh!"

•I feel like the baby's first word would either be "dada" or "cat" that's if 808 is there during the moment (it would be funny)

•Chai would be over the moon if their first word is "dada" and maybe brag about it (he's just a proud dad)

•The baby would love 808 simply cause she's a cat and 808 would love the baby too

•Chai would catch 808 cuddled up next to the baby when they're asleep (he'd get a quick photo and show Peppermint cause again it's cute)

•Speaking of the tea-m...

•Peppermint might not want to hold them but she would have the baby rest in their bouncy chair thing next to her desk and occasionally look over to the baby and talk to them

•Macaron would also love the little dude but he'd be extremely nervous holding them cause of how small they are (I mean look at the size of Macaron(huge lad))

•He might call the baby either "little little guy" or "littler guy"

•Korsica would be fine holding the baby but she might be slightly awkward when trying to talk to the baby

•CNMN would hold the baby in a funny way like holding them out away from him and immediately give them a psyhc profile even if they're only still a newborn (it would only say mini-Chai(for now that is))

•As this happens after the project armstrong defect fiasco and when Roxanne returns, she'd be great with them as she obviously has had experience with children and honestly she'd be happy for you both

•Overall I think he'd be a fun dad and love his little dude (^^)
