So I went to the wiki page for the henghill Bullet & Brain mission of 2.2 looking for some dialogue I had missed and

a) I found something incredibly tasty that slotted into some other thoughts I'd been having, more on that on another day, and

b) I saw this super fun little trivia at the bottom, which!

I knew Penacony characters like Boothill took a lot of inspirations from old movies, but I didn't realize it was even in his and Dan Heng's relationship, that's so cool!!

It fits them very well, it's such a fun reference. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was an old buddy Western film (from 1969- nice) about a pair of outlaws. Butch Cassidy was the leader of a gang, and described as clever, affable, and talkative. Meanwhile, his closest companion, the Sundance Kid, was known as a man of few words.

Cassidy's original birth name was much more plain, but similar to Boothill, he took on a new moniker when he became an outlaw. "Cassidy" had been the last name of his beloved mentor, who taught him how to shoot and ride. And Sundance Kid was known as he was because Sundance was the name of his hometown, and it was the only place that had ever managed to catch and jail him, back when he'd been younger (also similar to Dan Heng, but ouch).

These two stick together like glue throughout the length of the film- through Cassidy's leadership of the gang being challenged, through a train robbery gone wrong, through being pursued by mercenaries, and even through fleeing to Bolivia and trying to start over together.

I don't want to say too much more, since the mission title is referencing one specific movie that I've never seen. I kinda wanna watch it now, though, just to see the inspiration that went into Boothill and Dan Heng and how they get along. I just think it's really sweet that these two were literally made to be the best of bros, how lovely is that. 💕

After rewatching it over and over again, I noticed something so I’ll map out which lyrics appear with which character for y’all to see:

In Ais’s part, the lyrics are about a certain weakness (ik the lyrics “my weakness” refer to a person but I chose to ignore that jskdksk) and survival. This may be a reach BUT doesn’t this reminds you of Ais’s official character description? Specifically of this part: “Ais seems capable of curing you...but a sick sense of dread surrounds him. He's beginning to suspect that he may not be as in control of his powers as he thought. Can you save each other, or will he drag you down to the abyss with him?" This so-called “weakness” could be his very own powers and he’ll need the player to help him, to “survive”.

Now, about Vere’s part, I don’t have much to say tbh other than the fact that the lyrics “Cause everytime we touch” appear for the first time in his part and I guess you could say it’s related to his frequenting at the brothel? (iykwim 😏) Oh! And you could also see him being touched by a lot of different hands in the trailer. Besides that, his part ends with the lyrics “need you by my side” sung softly by the singer hmm…

Kuras’s part on the other hand, starts strongly (I suck balls at describing music so pls listen 4 urselves, you’ll know what I mean😭) and at 1:59 mins the lyrics are “Cause everytime we touch” then his face darkens a little and it stars an instrumental interlude. I don’t know what that really means but he’s sus

Mhin’s part is sung very softly as well and the lyrics “We’ve been through them all. Finally, Leander’s part!! Now, LISTEN. His part is the reason why I even made this post in the first place lmao This mf is way too sus but first of all, the building synth progression at 2:58???? oh my god I got CHILLS. literal chills. *ahem* Moving on, his part, starts strongly the same as Kuras’s part did. Their parts are the only ones sung like that… Weird, huh? Anyway, after the lyrics “I can’t let you go. Want you in my life” at 3:49, the song gets SUPER intense and starts sounding very desperate ig?? (kudos to Dan! love his voice frfr) and Leander’s part ends with “Need you by my side”. Okayy y'all… Y'ALL. THIS IS CRAZY. In his part we have both the lyrics "I can't let you go. Want you in my life" AND "I want this to last. Need you by my side". In conclusion, there’s no fucking way the red spring team didn’t assign the certain parts of the lyrics very and I mean VERY purposefully to each LI. The parts suit them specifically well so I highly doubt it’s random but it could also just be me reading too much into this

Lmao, I don't mind if it's not about my series. I will be adding Jazz to the list tho bc I love her and she deserves to be included.

List below:

1. Dan: the most terrifying and deadly, bc he WILL take off limbs to ensure that his loved one can't run away from him. He is also volatile, extremely jealous and possessive, as well as not that mentally sound, which makes for a terrifying combo with his sheer power. He will also hurt others and even the people his loved one loves in order to keep them close.

2. Tim: he's scary for his toxicity, abilities, and mundanity. He's extra scary bc of how ordinary he is, bc you would literally not suspect that he would be doing all sorts of illegal actions in order to keep his loved one close. He is also very intelligent, and able to gaslight his loved one and kill anyone who interferes without anyone knowing.

3. Danny: if he was a yandere, he'd be 3rd for sheer power. Ngl, I can't imagine him being that violent or horrifying, but he is very creepy bc I think he'll be the type to watch his loved one at all times. There's also not a lot anyone can do to stop him/convince him otherwise, so that's why he ranks high.

4. Jazz: manipulative and frightening for the amount of help she has as well as the abilities she's got. She's also terrifying and toxic bc she'll gaslight anyone in order to achieve her goals. She's also a perfectionist, very needy, and very, very stubborn/single-minded, so that makes for a bad combo. However, she is 4th bc she has no special abilities.

5. Dick: lower than Jazz bc I think he would have more morals (even while he's yandere), but I think he's equally as terrifying and unhinged as her. He has a lot of friends, a lot of influence, and a lot of abilities. He's a great spy, and that also influences his yandere activities.

6. Jason: I was honestly just going to put "he has guns" and call it a day lmao. I just can't see him as a yandere tbh? At least not without being physically abusive, but I think he could also be the gaslighting kind of yandere who acts all sweet and gentle until his loved one disobeys and then he starts threatening them violently until he switches attitudes again and goes back to being sweet.

7. Damian: honestly, I don't think he'll be that scary compared to the others. He's the very basic, jealous, murderous yandere, but that doesn't mean that he's not scary. He still has his fighting abilities and a volatile temper. However, he's also easy to predict.

8. Dani: she's the least toxic and dangerous yandere, not bc she doesn't have it in her, but just bc she's rather gentle compared to the others. She'll lock up her loved one and treat them like a pet. She's not likely to be violent, but she does have a lot of friends, so it's hopeless to escape her.

Part 2 of Vampire!reader craves Dan Heng

tbh the titles may not corelate to what I'm writing. As you can see what I wrote is purely self indulgent. Anyways, not a lot of vampire action going on in this one. Description: continuation of part 1 , please read it if you haven't already. This is just mostly Dan Heng taking care of reader Warning: vampire, small wounds, blood?(idk)

Dan Heng has always noticed your fangs and how your eyes would glow a little when you see your crewmate’s wounds after a battle. At first, he thought you are sadistic and a threat to the Astral Express. You refuse to treat wounds or look at blood for longer than 5 seconds. He thinks you’re weird.

“Slow, slow down. I’m all yours.” Dan Heng truly hopes he could relief your hunger.

You soon came back to your senses. You stop sucking on Dan Heng’s wrist and look at the two little holes on his wrist. Horrified to what you’ve done, you push him away.

“Shit! I’m so sorry, Dan Heng. I truly don’t mean to hurt you. I’m so sorry.” You said as your eyes not scrambling everywhere but Dan Heng’s eyes. Your eyes started to tear up.

"Hey hey, shhhh, it's alright. Just drink up." He comforted you as he held out his wrist again.

As he is about to leave, his thumbs wipe the corner of your mouth that have some of his blood stains on it. "And also... don't fall asleep in the water."

The door shut gently. (What is going on) You messed up. Not only did you hurt him, but also now that you tasted human blood or his blood especially, you can't go back anymore. Before you think too much about what happened, you strip and dip yourself into the hot bath that Dan Heng prepared for you.

You stop overthinking and leave the bathroom, heading to the kitchen.

Dan Heng was right at the stove cooking what seems like instant noodles. The microwave is heating somethings up at the same time. The lights are all off, only a single lamp is lighting up the area. Stars can be clearly seen outside the big windows.

"Ah, you're done. Sit down. It'll be ready in no time."

Dan Heng place down a heat proof mat and the pot of noodles right in front of you along with a pair of chopsticks and a chinese soup spoon. Not long after, he took a plate out of the microwave.

"Here, eat up. It's not much. These are the leftovers from dinner." He said as he sat down opposite of you.

You haven't had any human food other than drinking Dan Heng's blood just now. Your stomach is starving and hurting like crazy after throwing up nothing but stomach acid.

"Ah wait, darn, I forgot. Here, stomach medicines." He hands you some stomach medicine for soothing your stomach after vomiting. He knew you might throw up again if you don't take care of that fragile stomach of yours right now.

"T- thanks." You take the medicines and start munching down your food. Food had never tasted this good before. Maybe it's because you haven't eaten the entire day or it was made by Dan Heng.

"Jeez, I told you so." He said as he fetch you a glass of water. As you gulp down the water, he gently soothes your back, as if to help with your choking.

"Ah sorry, I can't help it." You said with a sheepish grin. Dan Heng blushed slightly, but it's left unnoticed by you. He suddenly pat your head and clear his throat.

"J- just be careful next time."

You finished your late night meal. Dan Heng wash up the dishes. The relaxing sound of running water made you sleepy. Soon later, you fell asleep at the table.

After Dan Heng turn off the sink and wipe down the counters. He turn around and see your head resting on top of your arms, eyes closed, taking in deep breathes. His heart clenches at the sight. Knowing that you had been restless the entire week, you deserve all the rests and his blood. Ah, what have you done to him. He's ears are turning red at the thought. He thought back at the incident in the bathroom. The feeling of your fangs sinking into his skin. The way your tongue would seldomly lick over the wound to make sure not a single drop is wasted. These thoughts made him heat up so much. He starts to feel dizzy, not knowing if it's the recent loss of blood or the thought of you. All he knows is it's all your fault. He glance down on the two little holes you made on his wrist. He thinks it's cute

He sweep you from your chair into his embrace. With one arm under your knee and the other cradling your shoulders. He hoist you up a little to allow your head to rest on his shoulder, making sure you won't fall or feel uncomfortable. He carries you to your room and lay you down. As he is about to leave, you grip on his sleeves.

"Don't go," you whined.

"I'm not going anywhere," he sighed. He had no choice but to sat down beside your bed on the floor, not wanting to lay in your bed without your consent. He stayed awake until he knew you are completely asleep.

Dan Heng stands up from his sitting position and starts to tidy up your bedroom. He picks up all the pillows on the floor and starts to throw out the empty blood bags. He takes the untouched cold tray of food out and clear out the mess you made. After all that, he place a bandage on the wounds and went back into your room. He went back to his previous spot and fell asleep there.

Looking at how they've presented themselves over time is always interesting. I think the queer experience of slowly questioning societal and gender norms (and gender, in many cases) is something I recognize in them. Im also curious how Phil's journey is different because he was out to his close ones for a lot longer, and it feels like Dan has more fun shouting about being gay because of the trauma that he associated with the label. I loved seeing their support of queer identities even when they were publicly closeted. It's nice that, even if they weren't comfortable being out, they wanted everyone to know they were a safe space

dan's journey wrt to gender presentation and how he feels about gender (not gonna theorise on how he identifies bc what do i know, but to quote him he's fine with being viewed as a man but also not offended if people use pronouns/gendered terms outside of that to refer to him) is interesting because he's said he's always been "flamboyant" but tried to hide that in his youtube career for a long time, and he's gone from saying "i can't do it i'm just such a boy" about painting his nails to having them painted more often than not, but also in day in the life of manchester he said he sometimes wishes he was a girl when looking at 'women's clothing', so it's clearly something he's felt for a long time.

i don't think phil necessarily feels the same pull to be gender non-conforming, but it is also something he's struggled with doing (in one of the stereo shows, when talking about the maid dress he wore in VPMO 2, he said that while it was a cheap joke outfit, a few years ago he would not have felt comfortable wearing a dress at all) so that might be something he's still working toward being comfortable with, but at the same time he's never felt shame about telling us things like he likes using raspberry scented body wash or that he does skin care (while when phil mentioned doing skin care dan was clutched by toxic masculinity saying "don't do- i mean that's fine!"

agree with dan having more fun shouting about being gay because of the trauma and i'm so glad he's reached where he is now! phil...i think for a long time he thought he didn't NEED to shout about being gay, especially because like you said he was out to a few people for longer. but i think it's something he realised he DID want to do after coming out to us. as he said in his coming out one year later video he didn't realise how much of himself he was holding back from us by not being out and it feels like a weight off his shoulders now. i think they both love being gay and shouting about being gay and celebrating that with us and im so proud of phil too <3 i actually have a hot take which is i think if it wasn't for dan's coming out he might have never fully come out to us, not just in a "if dan never had he never would have" way, but in a "if he and dan never met he wouldn't have" way, because he IS a private person and didn't think he was missing out on anything.

i am always so glad they made sure we knew they were accepting of us even if they weren't ready to be out. ngl it got kind of rough in like 2012 for me when dan was so adamantly against people thinking he was gay my own internalised homophobia brain went "does he hate gay people?" but that's on me, not him, or more accurately on BOTH of our internalised homophobia situations lmao. but yeah they've always been so sweet about their queer and trans fans, and one thing i personally appreciate so much is how they will use they/them for any fan they don't know the gender of no matter what their name/appearance/voice would make other people assume their gender to be! i feel so safe with them, and im gonna add this bc im still sappy after this weekend, so safe with phannies too <3 i think phannies queer identities and dnp's queer identities have ALWAYS flowed into each other and both sides of the parasocial line have made the other side feel safe and grow into their identities and helped them accept and appreciate other people's identities.

jayce arcane!

How I feel about this character?

Jayce, my baby, my sweet, sweet child they could never make me hate you. Easily my favourite character in the show. Earnestness is one of my favourite character traits, and I love how emotional Jayce is, how he's such a touchy-feely guy, the golden retriever to Viktor's black cat if you will. Actually, there's something to be said (and this applies to Viktor too) for the fact that Jayce isn't a dick about how smart he is. Thinking about it, that's an aspect of the show that could be so insufferable, if the science bros actually milked it in the way scientist characters often do, especially since, as I said in the Viktor post, I think they're both some flavour of Doomed Scientist. Sure, Jayce had his moment of being shot down by Heimerdinger, but he wasn't resentful, he didn't stew with arrogant rage, he just thought Heimerdinger was wrong and decided to manipulate and manwhore his way to the top instead.

He's a very dynamic character, he's a scientist, a fighter, a politician, and a lover/friend, all of which are important at one point or another, and at the same time he's kind of dorky and simple, with a boyish charm that you can easily underestimate. It's impressive that he can be all of those things without it feeling forced or like he's OOC at times.

Also it would be remiss of me to add that he really does remind me of Leo dan Brock from Joe Abercrombie's Age of Madness trilogy. Jayce is much smarter and infinitely more likeable, but I'm sure the reason I'm so drawn to Jayce is because of their similarities. Earnestness, man! I can't get enough of it!

All the people I ship romantically with this character?

Mel & Viktor. Both equally. Like how I ship Arthur from BBC Merlin with both Gwen & Merlin, don't make me choose. I am also deeply in awe of Mel, she's so gorgeous and perfect, so I totally relate to Jayce in that regard too.

My non-romantic OTP for this character?

I really liked the moments in S1 with Cait and Jayce, I wish there was more of them tbh! Also Jayce & Vi were cool, and in the same way I like the idea of Mel being friends with Viktor, I'd love for Vi & Cait to be friends with Jayce. I'm intrigued by Jayce & Ekko, they're an unlikely duo for sure and I'm hoping we'll get to see more of them next week.

My unpopular opinion about this character?

Not really unpopular, but I've just always liked him since day one. I know he rubbed people up the wrong way with his fascistic bent in S1, but I loved it regardless.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon?

Ngl, at this point I really would love Jayce/Viktor to be canon. Like, I still think it would be OK if that doesn't happen, I'm not getting my hopes up, but it would take the show to the next level IMO, especially with the emotions ramping up this season already. I want a confession of love (not just affection!!), even they don't do more than that in a way that allows people to interpret it as platonic. I'm hoping the majority of the focus will be on Jayce, Mel, and Ekko, and really the biggest stake for Jayce is his relationship with Viktor Those chips needs to be cashed in! (though a reunion with Mel wouldn't go amiss either, I really hope she gets her considerable due in Act 3 D:). I'm a fan of event TV and the thought of a JayVik confession happening next week is like Yuri on Ice episode 10 levels of Internet meltdown (what is itwith characters called Viktor?). But nope. Not getting my hopes up. Nuh uh. 😐

I'm in chapter 145 of the Dan Da Dan manga, so very nearly caught up!!!

I'm enjoying it, but i will say i think the show is better, and also it almost feels like the manga was only created as a precursor to the show? A lot of the coolest things about the show are, at most, only implied by the manga. (Action scenes, use of color, music, etc.) Like, there's action sequences or referenced music that is just not possible to do w a printed b&w comic! And fight scenes, character designs, and detailed backgrounds are kind of difficult for me, personally, to parse without color. Also i think the manga is a little worse in terms of sexualizing the girls :/

All that said, the manga is definitely still very good, and the heart of what made the characters likeable and the story compelling is definitely all in there!! Momo and Okarun's crushes are so sweet; often that kind of storyline, (the slow getting-together) especially when you mix in their jealousy towards others of their gender, would be kind of irritating to me. But they both just feel like real teenagers, like, the jealousy doesn't take over their personalities or really get in the way of their friendships. Also they're busy trying not to die or saving the world or whatever. They just have a lot of feelings!! Tbh it's very sweet and nice that you can see that they both ARE trying to process their feelings and potentially do something about it, like, their hangups make sense for the most part.

Honestly very pleasant to me that pretty much all the main characters are fundamentally compassionate people. Momo's definitely still my fave; best girl of all time!!! 🩷🩷🩷 But Okarun is great, too, he's such a sweetie and he's SO brave, and, honestly? Really great at communication for a teenager who's never had friends before in his life!!

I found a stopping point in the middle of the Jumanji-type arc; I think it was partly not holding my attention as much bc our main couple is separated! 😅 (it feels kind of silly and perfunctory whenever there's an attempt to establish romantic tension between Momo or Okarun and a third party-- it's like, yeah, okay, they're cute, they have chemistry, whatever, but none of that matters bc they're ALREADY IN LOVE) (not to discount my poly friends. But Momokarun seem to be operating from a pretty monogamous mindset.) but I'm sure I'll finish catching up soon. I've read most of it the last four or five days, I think? I can't tell if the chapters are short, or it's just so fast-paced that it feels that way, lol.

The motorcycle/ECTO-C. I've always wanted to see Ray on a motorcycle (because of my headcanon that Ray is just as into motorcycles as Dan is), and now that has been fulfilled.

I feel like I've just listed every scene he was in 😅 But I loved every scene he was in, so there's that.

Anyway, I love this movie, and I love Ray, and nothing will ever change that.

so a long time ago (2018, when i had time and ambition) i wanted to make a zine of gon and killua traveling around the world (landmarks of earth) and doing some stupid silly shit that they might do (like climbing the eiffel tower barehanded, like dan goodwin did long ago at the CN tower). that's one of the many ways i thought in my head about how gon and killua would reunite! in their late teens/early 20-somethings, and be absolute fools, but fools together again :)

I'd like to think they would both communicate with each other since they have phones, just that it would be hard for them emotionally, and gon's more likely to reach out first within the first year or two! I'm a big fan of fics where they'd still text each other from oceans away, and killua and alluka would make a stop in whale island, or promise to ;w; I've also made some art of them calling and texting each other. it's just sweet to think about! (any other queer couples in an LDR would relate tbh. i did with my gf for the longest time)

as for whether gon gets his nen back, I don't think i want that to happen? it keeps it interesting, it makes the consequences of his actions more...real and permanent. it leads me to think about how killua might treat him differently, now that they're not on as equal terms in fighting ability as before. gon would fucking try to get his nen back through any means for sure though! I don't know if there's any other instance in the hxh universe where someone else who lost their nen ability could get it back, so it's kinda a big question mark for me. it'd be suuuuch good angst if gon works way harder than before to get his nen back, only to fail and have to just...cope with being ordinary. it's a continuation of what he's probably going through now that he's back home. lots of stuff to obsessively think about on work hours!

So using my Anthro degree for something. This is Academic interest. I'm only giving the loose reasons why. I'm not particularly promoting fetishization here. I'm saying, do the research into this specific culture for this specific cultural aspect. rather than blind worship.

Agriculture

Of the three major regions, (West Asia, Southern China-ish, Meso America/Northern South America) hands down, The Americas.

I mean, if you look at the genetics and origin of the potato, that itself is super impressive. Through domestication alone, they managed to make the potato grow in all environments, AND changed the amount of genes the potato has. !@#$ What? Really? And then you have things like Amaranth, corn, squash, beans of different kinds, quinoa, tomatoes which is related to nightshade, which is used more than eggplant worldwide, and Sweet Potatoes which they gave to Polynesians. Also single handedly through the Potato and Sweet Potato saved China, Korea, Ireland, and several other places from famine, thus also helping to end the slavery cycle in Korea, China and Japan. I mean... who are you going to rank the highest in that case?

Second place ranking I have to give to Western Asia. Daaaaamn, you have wheat, oats, barley, sheep, goats, cows, horses (supposedly), pigs. That's pretty impressive.

Third place Southern China—rice production, most of the world's commercial flowers, soybeans, a lot of the fruits including citrus. You also get honey.

Honorable mention to South Asia for Chickens. (Indonesia and India specifically)

Despite this, apples are my favorite fruit. lol I need to eat a Courtland apple please. I can eat them by the bushel.

Sea navigation

Hands down, Polynesians, beats the pants off of everyone else by a nautical league. When you can feel sea currents with your hands, be able to get your people first to the South Pacific from China, and then navigate ALLLLL the way to the Americas and beat Europeans, Yes, definitely they get the crown several times over. I mean... think hard about it. When you memorize stick charts, casually and then don't have them at sea and sometimes your tattoos are only brief reminders, FLOORED.

Make Europeans in the same time period look terrible.

House design

I'm looking at passive solar, specifically rather than aesthetics. For me, this is kinda toss up. Indigenous peoples rocked it pretty hard, especially in the South West US into Mexico region. They were exceptionally good at regulating air flow. But Koreans invented underfloor heating. And Chinese figured out Feng Shui which is just Passive solar+ a bunch of other stuff that's practical. (Such as your bathroom shouldn't be above your kitchen). But I have to admit I also admire some of the Indian Passive solar efforts (subcontinent). This one is hard to decide. But if you're researching, I'd look there.

Gender

My favorite to point to is Bugis people of Indonesia. 5 different genders. Freaking awesome. Of course it's a bit disciplined these days by the government, but it's worth investigating.

As I wrote before East Asian gender systems of the past were often more fluid and flexible and still are compared to European ideologues.

Clothing?

No one has impressed me that much, tbh. It's a pick and choose. I can choose the most impractical, but not the one that wins my heart for inventiveness.

Crakows, though, crack me up every single last time. Especially for the Phallic nature and that they were associated with men. But that's on the impractical list. That's also why I submitted it for review on History Hit's fashion list. I haven't gotten over it since I first saw it, I think it was on a Dan Snow documentary about British kings. I mean look at them and resist laughing your butt off.

Religion

I personally think that real Voudoun is much cooler than what's in the movies, which is really racist 98% of the time. It is a Synchronized religion, and it is Christian-based in some ways, but c'mon, look it up and be impressed.

BTW, I really dislike the conflation of zombies with Voudou, granted as an outsider, since it belongs to Bokor and is a warning against *becoming a slave* not about white people trying to shoot zombies with grey and darker faces because OMG, slave uprising psychology.

Zonbis, are cooler than zombies since it's about overcoming and resisting masters, rather than about masters mass killing their slaves, which is what the later meaning seems to say. Ad Zombie movies are at their best when they symbolically get the original concept and meaning. So like becoming a work drone.

^^ I still have a soft spot for Muism as a Korean, but ya know, Korean. I lean towards liking shamanism, probably because of the historical acceptance of LGBTQIA and disability.

Shamanism is also appealing in some ways because often shamanism says that if everything in your life is going wrong, then that might be a sign of powers or spirits calling to you, rather than saying in the old Christian ideology that you've sinned deeply, so you need to repent.

But this is usually not what people are asking about when they are thinking about religions. They usually want the polytheistic, Jade Emperor, Greek, Roman, Egyptians, Norse route. Or Monotheism. Kinda dull, really. Where are the other types in fiction. I mean, Druids?

Give me some totemism for once.

Government System

Look up Wigan Council. I might also be biased towards it because of Gaya, but it's a way to play with things and also allow for more LGBTQIA royalty. Royalty without autocracy?

Inventions?

Hands down, no doubt, Islamic Empire. I mean, when you have Automatons without electricity, you're winning without question. When your people are inventing surgery, calculating the size of the Earth, allowing women to read, learn and write, inventing the lens, which is the cornerstone of so many inventions, and you got Europe's Bacon by inventing the Scientific Method first, historical crush does't cut it. I mean, when you can calculate a pointed arch, do geometric mosaics with mathematical principles, I am floored beyond reason.

Conclusion

This isn't to say I'm not impressed by specific things from other cultures as well, but this is broad strokes. Vedanta Hinduism, for me, is impressive from India. And I really like the practicality of Hanbok. (Why hanbok over hanfu is a long, long post) And I've raved over kimchi before multiple, multiple times, more than you know (quora... I think I have the most answers and I also answer with the food science of Kimchi down to the bacteria.) BTW, dumplings are damned clever.
