I did the favorite pokemon quiz thing!
my team from sw/sh is noivern, slowpoke, arctozolt, frosmoth, eternatus, and galvantula, but i used to have golisopod, jolteon, and greedent on my team. I also had a golisopod in my sun/moon playthrough, along with stoutland, ariados, jolteon, sylveon, and a deino that I never actually evolved lmao. I picked decidueye for my moon starter, and inteleon for sword, but I haven’t really liked the starters in a while so I always end up boxing them lmao.
#pokemon#my favorites <3#i just think greedent is cute#i never actually used him lmao#OOH#my jolteon from moon was an eevee I caught and then evolved#but my sylveon hatched from the egg and evolved before I could find a thunder stone#an they're in love#also#i thought i would HATE all the fossil pokemon from sw/sh#but i got arctozolt and read its dex entry and saw it shivering and#i feel in love#i named him meow meow :(#with the sad face#also my slowpoke is galarian#but i didn't realize you could change the sprites in the quiz until i was done lmao#anyways#OH RIGHT#i think eternatus is funny#i didn't like him until i caught him and set up a couple campsites#bc of course the culinary nerd's favorite part of the game is cooking for my pokemon lmao#but i saw how funny he looks and just#wugh#also spinarak was my favorite pokemon for a long time#and ariados is just cool

Review greedent please, i dont really get the hatred people have for it
Skwovet is... a squirrel. That's about it. There's nothing wrong with Pokemon being pretty basic in their execution, but I feel like there has to be something to make them stand out—either a strong visual element or good lore/personality. Visually, they don't have anything super unique about them, and conceptually... they're squirrels. They do have the trait of being extremely gluttonous, but there are just so many other Pokemon that have the same trait that it doesn't really stand out. (Hell, this same gen brought us Cramorant, which has the exact same concept but a much more fun execution.)
Visually, there's nothing much wrong with it. I do like how the tail is split into two parts, with the top being darker and the bottom being lighter, with fur dividing the two, and the freckles are cute, but that's about all I can say.
Another problem that I think this line has is that it's a two-stager, but there's no real change in concept to justify it. The visual changes are good and prevent the two from feeling too similar, but it would've been nice to see some kind of twist on the theme or something.
Anyway, I do like Greedent a bit more than Skwovet. The giant tail and chubby body reflects its love of food, and it even drops stashed berries from its tail when hit in the games, which is a nice touch. The body is nicely divided between light and dark areas, and inverting Skwovet's color distribution is a nice touch. (Though I do find it weird it goes from a gray to red palette, as red squirrels are smaller than gray squirrels IRL.)
Side note: some people seem to find this line really uncanny. They don't bug me at all personally, but I think part of the reason people feel that way is that Skwovet never really closes its mouth, so it looks kind of dead in the games. The overly happy expression in its artwork should be glimpsed from time to time, not made the default.
Anyway, this is a pretty harmless line as a whole. It just needed more of a concept or stronger visuals to really stand out.

Translator's Notes:
[1] lit. “Bidoof Gang”. Pokemon games feature antagonistic groups known as “[noun]-dan” (“noun-gang”), translated as “Team [noun]” in the English localization [2] lit. “madly in love”, a status condition known as Infatuation in English [3] lit. “always B”, pressing B while a Pokemon evolves cancels the evolution. I felt that “mash” best portrayed the enthusiasm displayed here lol [4] lit. “underlings”, a group of NPC trainers that are the lowest members of the evil team, translated as “Grunt” in the localization [5] lit. “airhead”, one of the three Abilities Bidoof can have along with Simple and Moody [6] From what I can tell this is online slang telling other fans of a character to not interact with you? [7] Referring to Rock Climb, which Bidoof can’t learn while Bibarel can [8] It seems “kenmai” is a Japanese fandom abbreviation for Swords Dance based off its kanji (tsurugi -> ken, both meaning sword) [9] As in, Bidoof's strength isp in the number of HMs it learns lol [10] Honestly I’m going by the PV here, it seems to indicate the distorted voice through Miku’s Rotom Phone is the Boss of Team Bidoof

I've seen people do Ghosts Pokémon headcanons before and I feel like none I've seen have focused specifically on the Galar region which is where Button House would be in a Pokémon AU. So my Pokémon takes for the Button House ghosts, using only Pokémon native to the Galar region would be as follows:
Kitty: Alcremie
I feel like it's got a Georgian hairstyle look to its appearance, and it's also pretty and feminine like Kitty.
The Captain: Falinks
You can't tell me this man wouldn't love a little unit of soldiers to train.
Sir Humphrey Bone: Sirfetch'd (Evolution of Galarian FarFetch'd)
He was Humphrey's loyalest knight.
Julian: Liepard
Catty, slinky, sexy, and it has the word lie right in the name. Need I say more?
Robin: Piloswine
It's hairy like Robin and evolves into a the Pokémon equivalent of a mammoth, mamoswine.
Mary: Wooloo
Mary talks about her late husband ploughing so maybe lived on a farm. It seems as though a pastoral Pokémon she could use for wool would be both pratical and cute!
Pat: Greedent
This lil guy has Pat vibes. Has greed in the name and in death we know Pat is more obsessed with food than the other ghosts. (Dunk it again...) Pat probably found him while camping.
Thomas: Indeedee
Indeedee's are like maids and butlers. Thomas's family is well off enough to give him an allowance, pay for a grand tour of Europe, and not worry about the fact he makes no money as a poet. I think he'd have had a butler Pokémon to assist him based on his class and mummy's boy ways.
Fanny: Vulpix
Fanny liked her small dog, Dante, and I think Vulpix is a good fireproof addition to the house. (RIP Dante)
Bonus Round
Alison: Polteageist
Perhaps inherited with the junk inside Button House
Mike: Quagsire
He just has Quagsire vibes I don't know how else to explain it. (Reached the 10 image limit sorry)
Barclay Beg-Chetwynde: Boltund/Arcanine/Manectric/Ninetales
BITCHES! COME ON, BITCHES!

BB24 Houseguests and their Pokemon Unite main
haven't done one of these in a while but Pokemon Unite is still doing anniversary celebrations so here are my lukewarm takes as always
Alyssa: Gengar - a Pokemon that will hex you and as you try to escape will harass you. OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
Ameerah: Zeraora - I swear to God people who play Zeraora think they're hot shit and then complain when they don't get what they want. Literally the vibes I got Week 3.
Brittany: Alolan Ninetales - Honestly nice to use and can come in with a strong play in a pinch. Never doubt their power.
Daniel: Mr. Mime - Great, all you've done is built walls around yourself. We can still get you long range.
Indy: Venusaur - Petal Dance is cute but WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE??? Why are you in every team now? Did everyone just collectively run out of ideas?
Jasmine: Greedent - Annoying as all fuck. Doesn't want to share food. Yep that checks out.
Joseph: Buzzwole - I don't even think I need to explain this one. 💪
Kyle: Duraludon - Was okay for a good two weeks and then all of a sudden I see why it's so problematic. Flush.
Michael: Blastoise - Big "defender that plays like a carry" energy. If you want this goal you're gonna have to pry it from my COLD DEAD HANDS 💀
Monte: Garchomp - Was great, then was really bad, but now it's improved a lot. Takes a while to get going but you can be sure they make the most of their presence in the game.
Nicole: Hoopa - Remember there was one week where her presence managed to get everyone to congregate into the HOH room? Because I remember. And it was nauseating.
Paloma: Wigglytuff - Was in every single team and everywhere at once and then all of a sudden just fell off the face of the earth.
Pooch: Azumarill - Was entertaining for one day and then we got bored. Clap if you care.
Taylor: Gardevoir - Look I just saw someone take on four people by themselves with Gardevoir and managed to kill them all in one fell swoop. Will just stand there, shoot a few moves and then watch the chaos ensue. With the Lays.
Terrance: Trevenant - I don't love it or hate it. It's just there.
Turner: Greninja - Sneaky and crafty with the primary goal to steal objectives. Kinda like with Jasmine's muffin.
#bb24#bb24 houseguests as#pokemon unite#michael taylor britt and turner have my mains#as well as espeon but i didn't have room 😭 😭 😭

@vulphowls
Scourge - Bisharp, Excadrill, and Glalie. All chosen based on their ability to use One Kit KO moves. (Guillotine for Bisharp, Horn Drill/Fissure for Excadrill, and Sheer Cold for Glalie). Most likely had Snorunt first.
Shadowsight - Absol and Duskull. I feel Shadowsight would lean more towards pokemon as companions. Absol would probably be his first partner pokemon with Duskull coming later perhaps followed him out of the Dark Forest who knows. I just think it's cute and he needed a ghost type. You know what Phantump could work too.
Squirrelflight - Infernape, Greedent, and Arcanine. I think Chimchar could keep up with her as a new trainer and I think she deserves a big buppy that could also cause so much damage. Greedent for obligatory Squirrel pokemon. Talonflame could go here too i think thats really piling up the fire types tho.
Flamepaw/Nightheart - Charmeleon, Umbreon. He was probably given Charmander as a starter by default (I would think Firestar was given a Charmander as well) and was frustated with it and neglected its training for a while hense still being a Charmeleon. Probably bonded with Eevee a bit more because of projecting the need to be what he WANTS to be onto Eevee idk how to word it. Gave Eevee the choice of what it wanted to be.
Snowtuft - Sneasle for sure. Honestly I can't imagine him having super strong pokemon he simplyyy does not strike me as a strong presence LMAO. Perhaps Alolan Sandslash too?
EDIT: Added Flamepaw/Nightheart

Drowning in a Frozen Heart (Spanche multi chapter fic)
Spark Rai is the new student at Viridian High. New school, new life right? He meets the mysterious Blanche Overwater, who's the loner at school. Can he melt their frozen heart or will he get the cold shoulder?
Chapter Six: Work
Blanche couldn't believe they were doing this. All to keep their grades up.
They opened the door to their apartment, walking inside. "Close the door after you, please..." They requested.
Spark nodded and closed the door behind him. He looked around. This was cozy, he liked it. "This is nice." He commented.
Blanche blushed. They didn't understand why but they were glad he liked it. "Thank you." They replied. "Go ahead and sit."
"Thanks." Spark sat on their blue loveseat, setting his school binder on their coffee table. Blanche set their school bag down and sat next to him. "So..." Spark tried to think of something to talk about, but found for once, he had a blank.
Blanche chewed their lip. They knew they shouldn't be doing this. They needed to avoid him, so they couldn't hurt him. But they needed this A and so did he.
"So, the assignment is we both need to write a poem, and then we give it to our partner to analyze." Blanche read the assignment form Willow handed out at class.
Spark couldn't help but laugh. "Oh man, I am no good with poetry."
"Well...that's ok, I am." Blanche smiled just a bit. "I'll help you."
Spark blushed, smiling. "Thanks...but wouldn't the defeat the purpose of the assignment? I mean I'm supposed to write, you analyze..."
"I'll just offer you some topics to write about, then you write whatever you can think of." Blanche offered.
"You won't judge if it's bad?" Spark asked. Blanche shook their head. "I would never." They promised.
"Well...okay, whatcha got in mind?" Spark asked.
"Well, you can write about nature, something you find fascinating, the last beautiful thing you saw..." Blanche shrugged. "Anything, really."
"What are you gonna write about?" Spark queried.
"That'll be for you to find out." Blanche smirked as they got their pencil and notebook out.
Spark pouted and nudged Blanche playfully. "No fun." He whined.
"Do your work." Blanche chuckled.
After a few minutes of both of them writing, Spark groaned. "I really don't know what I'm doing." He sighed. "Nothing I write I sounds good."
"Can I hear what you have so far?" Blanche asked. Spark smiled nervously then held the paper up to reveal he did a crudely drawn Tyranitar.
"That is not a poem." Blanche said, although that didn't stop a small chuckle from escaping their mouth.
"I know but I can't concentrate." Spark groaned. "No one's ever wanted to be my partner because of this..."
"Well...why don't we take a small break? I could get us some refreshments." Blanche offered.
"Really? I feel bad, I didn't exactly do anything." Spark frowned.
"We have a week before it's due. That's plenty of time." Blanche said, standing up and walking away to the kitchen.
Spark groaned. They must have thought he was an idiot. What was he thinking? Maybe he would ask Willow to assign them a better partner, and he'll do something else for extra credit. Blanche deserved better than him.
Shrugging, he decided to take his phone out and scroll on PokeBook. He started laughing at a video he saw.
"What's so funny?" Blanche asked, coming in with a tray of two glasses of ice water and a bowl of popcorn.
"This!" Spark laughed, holding the video of a Growlithe bumping into a tree as it chased a Greedent.
"Oh my Suicune, that poor Growlithe." Blanche said, shaking their head with a small smile.
"Don't worry, he'll walk it off," Spark laughed, "provided there aren't any trees!"
Blanche shook their head, setting the try on the table.
"Thank you!" Spark exclaimed, grabbing a handful of popcorn and gobbling it up.
Blanche was shocked to find themself smiling at Spark. He was...so cute when he was this relaxed.
When they should have been working, they spent the evening talking and laughing. Spark told them everything about his life. Blanche listened to every word, fascinated and wanting to know more.
They just wished they could be that open to him as well.
"Shoot, is it already almost 8:00?" Spark frowned looking at the clock. "I promised my mom I'd be home soon."
Blanche bit their lip at the word 'mom'. "You...better get home to her." Blanche said, looking to the floor. "We'll work on the poems tomorrow."
"I swear, tomorrow will be more productive." Spark promised, grabbing his bag. "Good night, Blanche and thank you for the hospitality."
"Good night, Spark." Blanche closed the door behind Spark. They really shouldn't have relaxed that much, now Spark would think he could get closer to them. what were they thinking?
And...he had his mom. Blanche had no one, besides Candela.
Sighing, they plopped onto the couch. "What am I going to do?" They murmured.
They only hoped things could get better from here.

Pokemon AU: The Seven Brothers as Pokemon trainers
A few years ago I made a similar set of headcanon’s for the MysMe characters and what kind of team they’d had if they were pokemon trainer and to this day it’s one of my favorite things I’ve written so I decided to do something similar for the Obey Me! characters.
(Since Tumblr hates links I’ll later reblog this with the source I used for the trainer ID’s but the Deviantart user is on each picture anyways)
Elite four member Lucifer wants to fight…
-The last and most powerful member of the Elite four, if you want to challenge Diavolo you have to very literally go through him and he has a team to be feared.
-Hydreigon and Houndoom are loosely based on Cerberus so I think they fit him very well, also they are known to be very aggressive when defied, just like Lucifer.
-Oricorio was a gift from Diavolo, he was really exicited about the idea of having matching pokemon with Lucifer and Barbatos and he chose the sensu form because it’s elegancy reminded him of Lucifer.
-Speaking of elegancy Persian and Tsareena are elegant royalty-like pokemon that give a prideful aura which fits Lucifer pretty well.
-Salamence it’s a little more difficult to explain. For this headcanon I asked friends that are pokemon fans but know nothing about otomes which pokemon reminded them of the deathly sins and the answer for pride was Salamence… at first I didn’t see it but the earlier stages of Salamence’s only wish it’s flying so on their final stage when it finally can fly there are proud of their wings. Also I can see Lucifer Salamence as reminder of his grief, a pokemon who left the ground and went into the sky for the angel that fell from there.
Elite four member Mammon wants to fight…
-he thinks being an Elite Four member is too much work but is also very proud of being one of the top trainers of the Devildom... just a little salty about being the first member thought; he knows he cannot beat Lucifer or Barbatos but surely he can beat Simeon, can’t he? (no, he can’t)
-His ace, Crobat is based a lot on how he is defined as a character. Zubat is a pokemon that’s usually looked down on and is often associated with evil teams but how does it evolves to Crobat and becomes it’s most powerful self? Throught friendship…and idk that reminds me a lot of Mammon.
-Sableye and Meowth are based on his sin. Sableye is known for tealing jewel (a very good companion for the avatar of greed) and Meowth is supposed to attract money.
-We all know this guy is a gambler and nobody can beat him at gambling, well, what’s the biggest prize you can get on pokemon casino on the older games? Yes, Porygon.
-Slowbro ended up on his team somewhat by accident, Mammon heard slowpoke tails were considered a delicatessen and not only that they grew back afterwards so he saw having one as a good investment….the problem was that just after he caught his slowpoke a Shellder attacked them and bit Slowpoke’s tail making it evolve into Slowbro.
-Scrafty has a similar aesthetic and it’s quick to get into fights, I figured out it would go well with Mammon.
Gym Leader Leviathan wants to fight…
-The water type gym leader, he is famous for the complex riddles every challenger must answer before even getting the chance to fight him.
-Has an old rivalry with Mammon and low key believes he should be on the elite four on his place
- As you might have guessed Seviper and Goldeen are inspired on Henry 1.0 and 2.0; he loves all his team but these two are the ones he had had for the longest and his favorites.
-Toxapex is basically Levi in pokemon form, a water/poison pokemon that when threatened hides on their shell and sends poison around, much like how Levi hides from the world on his room and acts all tsundere.
-For Levi raising one of the weakest pokemon into Gyarados was like farming on one of his MMORPGs and as he would do on one of those he completely outdid himself to the point it became his most powerful pokemon and the one every trainer fears whenever they enter his gym.
- Both Skrelp and Tentacruel are poison and water types and fit his character aesthetic pretty well (If you guessed the other reason why I chose Tentacruel you are reading too much Levi fancfiction….And I’m too)
Gym Leader Satan wants to fight…
-The leader of the Psychic type gym. His gym is themed around an escape room and only the ones who can solve the mystery can challenge the leader.
-Before becoming a gym leader he traveled through a lot of regions learning all he could about pokemon so his team includes species he caught on a bunch of different places.
-the psychic type is often associated with intelligence and knowledge so I think it fits him well.
-There is no much to say about Galarian rapidash, it’s a psychic unicorn. He had to have one.
-Alakazam is known to be more intelligent than humans, a fitting partner for someone who believes knowledge is power
-Grumpig and Darmanitan are inspired on his sin. Grumpig has very powerful psychic power that he unleash upon angered and Darmanitan is a very calm pokemon when he is on zen mode but unleash all his wrath when it goes into blaze mode.
-Satan it’s not only book smart, he is also an adventurer so of course he’d feel attracted to the mysterious Sigilyph usually found on ancient ruins and inspired on the Nazca lines.
-the last member of the team was a little more difficult to pick. Gallade is basically a white knight which is a weird thing to call a demon but if there is one that can act as one that’s Satan
Gym Leader Asmodeus wants to fight…
-Fairy type gym leader, he is also part time a contest trainer and he is really good at it.
-of course he only surrounds himself by pokemon as beautiful as himself.
-Asmo’s personality is based on the duality between his sweet and beautiful exterior and his darker side he keeps well hidden. Most of his pokemon show this but particularly Mimikyu, a pokemon that in its desire to be loved takes the appearance of the famous Pikachu.
-Hatterene just like Asmo has power over people’s feelings and on it’s design it reminds me so much of Asmo I had to make it his ace.
-Aromatisse is a pokemon based on perfume, cancan dancers and plague doctors. It likes being the center of attention as much as Asmo, so they’d get along well
-Shiinotic, Mawile and Gliscor represent his most dangerous side, not for nothing his animal is an scorpion. Both Shiinotic and Mawile are pokemon that are beautiful to look at but if you get too close you’d get either poisoned or biten…and well, Gligar is a literal scorpion (Sorry, the plot doesn’t give us much to work wih on this side, Asmo’s content tent to focus on his more “look I’m beautiful” side)
Gym Leader Beelzebub wants to fight…
-Normal type gym leader
-His team just like him looks bulky but they are a bunch of sweethearts.
-Tauros was inspired on his horns and the way he barrels like a bull when angered
-I know Greedent literally had greed on the name but it represents his gluttony as Greedent is known for hoarding and eating all food available.
-Munchlax had a similar reason behind, they eat a lot but are also very active. Much like Beel.
-Beel caught a little Teddyursa when younger because he thought it was cute and he loved seeing the little bear napping along Belphie. As they trained and grew stronger Teddyursa evolved on his most powerful pokemon, Ursaring.
-Miltank was a gift from Belphie, the younger twin figured Beel would enjoy having a limitless fountain of food with him.
-Cutiefly, I know this one doesn’t like it belongs on the team but it’s a cutie and a fly so I have to give one to Beel.
Gym Leader Belphegor wants to fight…
-Dark type gym leader (you all know why)
-Komala lives all its life asleep hugging a log like it’s a pillow, if that doesn’t scream Belphie I don’t know what.
-Musharna is a pokemon that’s said to bring good dreams, the same way Belphie got Miltank for Beel, Beel caught Musharna to take care of Belphie.
-Zoroark and Liepard are known for being tricksters and liars, much like Belphie enjoys pranking Lucifer and on the beginning hides his true nature from the MC. Inkay was chosen for a very similar reason he is a cute squid but has the potential to turn into the very dangerous Malamar.
-I’m going to get angsty and spoiler-ry on this one so consider yourself warned. Absol is believed to attract disaster and misery just like Belphie blames himself for what happened to Lilith and avoids peolple because of his guilt to the point he ends up causing real misery when he killed MC.
The undatebles coming soon...

ngl I just don't like ANY of the 3d sprites I think they should have stuck with pixel art the 2d sprites were always so cute... I'm so unspeakably mad we got animated 2d sprites for a single generation then immediately went 3d like... could we not have simply stuck with what we had?
i’m not in that camp, but i really do just hate a lot of SwSh’s sprites specifically...some of them (Rillaboom, Yamper, Galarian Meowth, Greedent, and Falinks to name a few) are actually the primary reason i dislike some of the new Pokemon designs, while i’ve never had any issues with the 3d sprites before

Willow @ Nick: "Ah! It's you! Hello!" She trots over with her tail wagging. She stops in front of him, a determined look on her face. "I had a question to ask! I won't ask anything personal. I'm just compiling some records for the library... I'd like to know something about Greedent. Anything, really! Or rather, something that others might not know! There's only so much information a human can gather about pokemon, so I'd like to get knowledge from someone first-hand!"
(Nick waves hello) Oh hi Willow! Facts about Greedents? I think I can come up with something.
(Nick thinks) I do know humans named our lineage after the wprds “Covet” and “Greed”, literally portmanteaus of “Squirrel Covet” and “Greed Rodent” because they have acknowledged that we religiously stash nuts and berries, in our cheeks, our tails, our nests...
(Nick half-smiles, or rather, smirks with a positive connotation) What they don’t tell you though...some of us are willing to share from our spoils. Not the stuff in our mouths, obviously, but the stuff in our nests and our tails, most definitely, to individuals we trust. Like when I shared my pastries, even if it was in the spirit of Halloween, i would do that any other day, knowing a Leafeon like yourself to be such a great friend.
* Nick’s tail sways lightly as he gives a good smile.
(Shelly overhears and steps in) Ooh, we giving facts? Willow, was it? I haven’t seen you since we went to that cute little winter ball! Y’know, we’re a lot heavier in the winter months than we are in the summer months!
(Nick) Ooh! I know this one mom! It’s cuz we put on thick fat to keep warm in the winter! And in the summer, we don‘t need all that fat keeping us hotter than we need to be so we burn it off in the months coming!
(Shelly) Very good, son! That’s exactly why we exercise throughout the spring! Speaking of, how’s your walks with our big ol’ friend going?
(Nick) I think i lost a couple of ounces trying to keep up with her.
(Shelly) Very good! (internal monologue: Exactly as planned...)

What kind of Pokémon themed items are there in galar? Like I bet there's fruit gummies shaped like different coloured snom. All honey based items have combed/vespiquen mascots etc
I know you said items but here’s just a general list of Poke-themed shit they got
There’s a kid’s cartoon about the adventures of a Grookey and Toxel who’re trying to win a battle of the bands contest. Their biggest rivals are a shy solo-singing Audino, and a rough trio of Loudred and their Linoone leader.
A long-running cartoon about a ninja Raboot is quite popular, even if people think it’s running out of ideas.
Sobble’s the main character in a cartoon for pre-schoolers that’s meant to help them gain self-confidence.
A newer cartoon about three brothers - a Beartic, Bewear, and Pangoro - is rising in popularity due to the Pangoro getting an Abomasnow boyfriend.
An incredibly popular show with a cast of Galarian Ponyta and Rapidash teaching the magic of friendship recently ended after nine full seasons.
Skwovet and Greedent are very popular mascot for cafes despite their bad rap for being very greedy, obsessive Pokemon.
The Galarian Linoone line is the face of Galar’s most famous tattoo parlour in Hammerlocke.
A cotton candy business uses Wooloo for a mascot, even if their products aren’t very good. People buy them out of a need for the cute Wooloo packaging.
For whatever reason, Drednaw races are a thing. To the point there’s official tournaments and world records for how fast a Drednaw can run a hundred metres.
Eldegoss is surprisingly popular in the fashion world, while Gossifleur can be found on advertisements for hair products.
Rolycoly rock candy, Snom fruit gummies, and Eiscue ice blocks.
Cramorant-shaped pillows are weirdly popular, as are Sandaconda neck pillows. And Pinchurchin throw pillows for some reason?
Mr. Rime garden gnomes are a staple in any elderly woman’s garden.
If it’s an electrical appliance I guarantee you there’s a ‘Rotom’ version of it (many don’t actually contain a Rotom since the use of Rotoms in electronics is very heavily monitored).

The Sword and Shield (BC x Reader)
Genre: Fluff, Idol AU, Quarantine fiction
Pairing: Bangchan x Reader
Warnings: Innuendos, nerdy Pokémon talk.
Summary: Every warrior needs a sword and shield to defend themselves against enemies. However, two nerds take up weapons in a vastly different fight.
Masterlist
Credits for the banner art go to Satzzz Art.
Life between the sheets does not always have to be characterized by Sensuality because there is more to be found among the pillows and blankets. It is amiable comfort, dozing off together to the sunrays streaming in through the light bedroom curtains or listening to music while sharing earbuds to kill the boredom of quarantine by means of occupying oneself with whatever is at hand. After all, it is yet unknown for how long the global population is forbidden to leave their homes safe for retrieving necessities at the supermarket or drugstore.
A blessing in disguise, however, is being able to spend the period of restriction with a bunch of lively lads which includes the lover of little more than a year. The moment it became known countries were hauling in their own residents a foolhardy decision was made to remain in South-Korea and leave the life in the place of origin behind for a while. The choice did not sit well with Chan at first, not too subtly asking to reconsider it though soon finding a secret delight in finally being able to wake up every day in the same bed.
No thousands of kilometres distance.
No time to be taken away by management and time zone differences.
The pandemic has at least given us this.
A taste of life as a real couple.
Just before IKEA closed as well, the lovable human kangaroo insisted on going there for the last shopping spree so personal taste could be added to the bedroom that would be shared. The well-meant idea was rejected at first, saying it was not needed and that the interior was fine as it was. However, once bleached locks have set their mind to something, it is barely possible to change the focus of determination and thus the private shared space has been decorated with a few candles alongside a new bookcase to house whichever books were already taken from home as well as a few pieces of art and a collection of postcards that have been pinned on a metal grate.
Our perfect little nest.
A haven of comfort for songs and nerdy thoughts.
‘Hey, babygirl.’ The mattress dips as the human koala joins the small kingdom in the sheets of sweatpants and loose tops that are somehow still deemed charming. Even the surface beneath the minimal layer of makeup is apparently preferred by the strong arm wrapping around the waist as platinum locks rest on the head and watch the screen held between hands. ‘What’re you playing?’
‘Pokémon Sword. It’s really good thus far and- Oh my god, it’s so cute!’ In an instance, the screen is lifted to show the six adorable balls clad in armor, a new creature which is called a Falinks. ‘Look at these little buddies!’
A wide smile breaks out on plush lips, wavy locks shaking in closed-eyed amusement before looking up again with the wonder of a new discovery. ‘So that’s why you’ve been kicking the air or screaming something is cute. I didn’t know you were a Pokémon fan?’
‘I have been since I was little, but it’s not something I tell others about.’ The true meaning of the grin no longer passes under the radar, igniting an ember of shame for harbouring a geeky side when it comes to the Japanese creatures. ‘Yes, I know, I am a mega nerd. Bite me.’
The jaw clenched in timidity relaxes when slender fingers tickle the sides as a big nose presses into the side of the neck to nuzzle it. The comment was not meant to provoke although the lowered voice suggests otherwise as it speaks against skin, teeth even cheekily nibbling. ‘Watch your words, Y/N, or I just might.’
However, the sensuous attitude fades as fast as it appeared as irises the colour of pure chocolate wander back to the device. ‘Can I see your Pokémon?’
Because the girl in the sheets is not the only trainer beneath the roof.
‘Sure.’ With the same nonchalance that denies the suggestiveness from a second ago, the index of the creatures which are currently being trained is opened. The current team consists of a Corviknight, Obstagoon, Thievul, Drapion, Boltund and Cinderace. ‘I’m currently training these though I mostly specialize in Dark Types.’
‘Why doesn’t that surprise me?’ To get more comfortable, Chan slouches further down the bed to rest more properly on a beloved narrow shoulder. Nevertheless, the all-knowing grin from before remains plastered onto plush lips. ‘I suppose you’re also interested in training Ghost and Psychic types as well?’
‘I’m an open book, aren’t I?’
‘Just a little bit.’ The teasing is made up for with a chaste peck on the nose followed by one on the forehead. Just the way it is preferred and done whenever apologizing for something or to simply gain a smile. Withal, now, judging by the twinkle in mischievous eyes, it is definitely to say sorry in advance for what is to come. ‘Can you guess what my type is?’
‘Me?’
The witty response evokes the bubbly boyish laughter that has been loved ever since the first time it was heard. ‘You’re not wrong.’
‘Okay, okay, let me think.’ The scanning for clues on the face results in nothing except a brighter devilish glimmer in a loving look. Henceforth, the answer will have to based on personality and all the little things that have been discovered since being in a relationship and now prematurely living together. ‘Electric? Although, no, wait. Fire. Something tells me you at least have a Growlith or had but it has transformed into Arcanine. Then again, judging by that splendid performance of the theme song in your VLive, I’d also wager you have a Pikachu. However, you’re very sporty so maybe you specialize in Fighting types?’
‘You’re on the right track. The answer is somewhere in there.’ Instead of one mocking eyebrow, two rise in a failed attempt to exaggerate coyness while looking cool. ‘Or is it?’
‘Very helpful, Chris.’ Sarcastically disregarding the useless remark and lopsided smirk, the former ramble is composed into a somewhat solid answer. Anywhere close to the truth is better than nothing. ‘You’re a Fire trainer who is also interested in Fighting types.’
‘Almost. I’m a Dragon trainer who always starts out as a Fire trainer. I am, however, also interested in Fighting types too. I do have an Arcanine and Pikachu is an exception to the rule because it’s Pikachu. Every trainer should have one.’
‘I have one too, but it doesn’t have a name since it’s a female and I only name my male Pokémon.’
Focus shifts back to the screen, Chan reading the names of the amiable creatures that form the company on the journey to becoming the best. It started as a fun idea and the names matched fairly well. ‘So I’ve noticed. Are you associating everyone in the industry with a Pokémon?’
But nothing ever runs smoothly.
‘I’m trying, but it’s bloody hard at times. I made Jackson a Pidove. Don’t laugh! I don’t know why I did it, but his name was the first to pop up when I caught it. Baekhyun is an Applin. Wait, he’s transformed already so now he’s a Flapple. Han is a Greedent because, let’s be honest, he’s a squirrel. Changbin, well, Bin is a Corviknight. I gave his full name to a Rufflet. Minho is a Sneasel, Felix a Thievul and I have yet to decide on the rest of the boys.’
‘Which one would be me?’ Judging by the suggestive tone of curious eyes and barely noticeable pout, there is the clear hope of a comparison with an awesome creature. The tightened grip on the hips betrays it too, blatantly so. Almost forcing the unknown comparison to one’s personal preference.
‘Without a doubt, you are Zacian, the giant warrior wolf with a sword in its mouth.’ A deep sigh cannot be helped at the thought of the game’s challenge which does absolutely not allow for failure. ‘The legendary Pokémon of the Galar region. Dammit, Channie! Why do you have to be so elusive and exclusive?’
‘Because I’m an amazing catch.’ The cheek is turned by slender fingers, compelling lips to join in a playful giggly kiss which is broken up by a smug remark. ‘And warriors are not so easily bound to a master. You told me even Beowulf reluctantly helped a king, only to settle his father’s debt.
‘Although,’ the train of thought is easily altered by hooking a digit under the silver necklace that was given as a birthday present, pulling the tease in yet holding off from melting into another kiss by backing away to continue the battle of wits and enjoy the small adorable whine of disagreement, ‘with the right trainer, I suppose I could make a deal.’
‘I plan on winning all gym badges and make myself worthy of the wolf.’
‘You will still have to win in that final fight. Until then, think you can take me on?’ Brows furrow in a suddenly hard-fought battle for concentrated control. Funnily contradicting oneself, the domestic koala shifts positions to hover over the coy soul who was able to tame the beast beneath the roof, faces inches apart and the Switch tucked in the small space between bodies.
Which becomes noticeably narrower when transforming Innocence into Sensuality by creating the image of what might be given after testing out the waters of victory and win in a Pokémon battle. ‘I have more than enough times in this bed.’
To make up for the victory and erase any negative unspoken feelings.
Though the soft growling suggests impatience, unwilling to be kept on a leash any longer. ‘Don’t change the subject. You’re fighting unfairly.’
‘Am I?’ The device is put aside on the bedside table, ankles hooking behind the waist to coax a hard shape into the warmth between the thighs as hands rest on broad shoulders. A much-appreciated action evidently, breath taken away by the friction between two concealed forms of wanting and nails digging into the skin beneath the comfy black printed fleece vest.
And the chest now making escape entirely impossible, hearts racing in harmony. ‘Yes. You’re distracting me.’
‘Says the person who’s distracting me from gaining those badges.’ Enough coherency lingers to remain cheeky. Bashful enough to lean in and utter a final double-sided statement of defiance. ‘I bet I can easily best you.’
But two can play that game, apparently.
‘I think you’re wrong, babygirl. Or do I need to remind you of how good I am?’
‘Grab your Switch and bring it on.’ The challenge is accepted with a scoff which clearly started having different expectations in regards to the order of events. Fortunately, a sweet quick peck cures most of the shallow grumpiness as Chris is dismissed from the sheets. ‘And give me all you’ve got.’
‘Oh, I will. I always do.’
As became apparent in the few battles between teams.
The wolfish actions that followed unspoken hard feelings unhappy with the outcomes of the fights.
And a broken headboard in the morning.

So, how was Pokemon Shield?
Before I start, this is going to cover the main game, not post-game. Sorry, no talk about Dickhead Swordward and Shieldbert. Also, if it wasn’t obvious already, massive spoilers ahead.
IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED, DO NOT READ THIS POST
I’m not going to ramble for hours about this, because to be honest, my thoughts about this are much briefer than they are for gen 7/Alola. Not to say there’s not much going on in this game, just that if you were expecting a super professional and profound review of the game from me, you may or may not be disappointed.
I will do my best to be articulate, though.
I’ll start with the rivals, the most obvious choice the begin with being: Hop.
Hop is definitely not like Hau like so many people were desperate to make me believe pre-release. In fact, while their arcs are similar, there’s a biiig difference. That difference, to me, is their changes in character. Hau had a big ass crash, yes, but his character change was pretty damn gradual. With Hop, after Bede puts him down, well, you can pretty much tell he’s not the same guy right off the bat the next time you talk to him. I absolutely adore Hope and I’m glad he got as much screen time and focus as he did. His arc was fantastically written and beautifully handled all the way to the end. All I can say is, another cinnamon roll for the collection.
Then there’s...Marnie.
Now, I don’t hate her, far from it. I adore her very much as well. The problem is that it seems she doesn’t get much time to flesh out like Hop did. A problem that goes both ways between her and Bede. Of course when I got to the seventh gym and met big brother Piers I actually did like the dynamic they were going for. Buuut I really wish they had given Marnie just a little more time to herself before that. I just didn’t feel like they did enough with her and...that’s a damn shame considering how popular she was upon her first reveal. Of course, again, this isn’t to say I don’t think she’s still just the cutest little punk goth button ever.
Sigh...and now it’s time for me to talk about Bede.
Look, from what I could tell, half the fandom was nuts for him, the other half was sick to death of a generic douchebag rival that adds no flavor to the table. But I’m a little torn on this one. Like I said, him and Marnie share an awful side effect of Hop’s arc being the most prominent...they don’t get enough time or everything that happens in their arcs feels...rushed, by comparison, at least in my opinion. So the thing is, when Bede gets disowned by Chairman Rose, of course my first reaction is “You had it coming, you were being a shit.” But then Opal...takes him in? And...acts as though Oleana manipulated him? I guess I could perhaps see what they were going for here, and, I’ll admit it, I kind of adored their dynamic, albeit a short interaction between them. And I did find it rather cute at the League when he was all flustered about being trained by Opal, having to continue training because everyone was cheering for him. But the thing is...his arc is kind of...broken? Like, I want to feel bad for him, and I want to feel invested in Opal taking him in and showing him the ropes of the Fairy Gym but...it just doesn’t work like it should. Which is odd considering Bede gets considerably more time to flesh his arc than Marnie, at least, that’s how it seemed to me. I do think the general story and Hop’s own arc really just forced the writing’s hand in sweeping Bede’s arc by as fast as possible. He could’ve been an interesting diversion of expectation, but...oh well.
Speaking of gyms, how do I feel about the gym leaders?
Well, Milo is a fucking cinnamon roll, and I do think I’ve settled on shipping him with Nessa because...I mean...c’mon now. Short bean boy, toll ocean gal? Perfect for each other ♥
I don’t really...feel anything towards Kabu. His design is bland, his personality didn’t stick out to me at all, but I guess they can’t all be iconic gems when you think about it.
Then...there’s my baby boy Allister. And lawd, my dudes, if Hop ain’t my new son well then Allister sure as fuck is. I did HC that he was mute like Red before the game came out and, well, his personality and dialogue are pretty good despite not being what I was hoping. I mean, c’mon, how can you not love that adorable little face? Or that he’s so socially introverted he keeps a collection of masks to make absolute sure his face is hidden? I am going to be quoting “Crumbs, that’s aces” forever now.
Opal was an interesting woman, I definitely think there could’ve been more to her relationship with Bede but I already discussed that. My dad thought she was kinda scary and creepy but she reminds me of that old lady from Spirited Away so I ain’t bothered all that much lol. She was nice enough, I do like her humbleness and that she’s willing to admit it’s definitely time for her to call it quits. And yes, I have seen that official art of her when she was younger. She is a fucking QUEEN ♥ ♥ ♥
Then comes Melony...hoooo boy my lesbian ass is fallin’ so hard it physically hurts me in ways you will never imagine in your life. Wicke wishes she was this thicc. In all seriousness though, I am pretty curious about that son of hers. I heard you can meet him in Sword but I’ll have to wait and see that for myself. Aside from being the newest love of my life, she’s absolutely adorable and wholesome. I know her card reveres her as strict, but, she just looks like a cinnamon roll.
Piers...oh Piers, where do I even begin? His design is fucking on point, for one thing. And his relationship with his sister Marnie is just so cute and so much fun to watch. As unfortunately left field as it was for me, I did like his arc about not being a good Gym Leader and wanting his sister to take over for him. It was sweet and kinda sad but I just love him so much. For the first Dark Type Gym Leader, not bad guys, not bad at all. Also omg Piers slay me with your metal, king plsssss
Finally, there’s Raihan and...omg he’s so great. This mother fucker not only takes selfies in the middle of a match, not only bombards you with weather effects therefore making him a fun and challenging opponent, but this dude is also beefin’ with our head champ? SIGN ME UP, FAM. For real though, like, I loved battling with Raihan the most out of anybody that I fought. I definitely haven’t felt this much fun battling a Gym Leader in years. And I will forever be torn as to whether or not I want to ship him with Leon >3>
Speaking of the chadster, I ain’t talked about ‘im yet. Or Sonia, for that matter. Honestly, they’re both pretty great.
But Leon is the fuckin’ MVP this gen, I’ll tell you what. He’s such a bro he tells Rose his “Day of Destiny” bullshit can fuck off til our match is over. Of course, I do like his ditzy and dorky sides too. Like his snapback collection or how easily he gets lost seriously Leon it’s just a straight fucking line to your house how do you fuck that up. But he ain’t just a bro to the main character, naw, he a bro to his actual bro, Hop. And I fuckin’ love it. Their interactions are so investing and entertaining and wonderful to watch. It’s almost kind of magical, in a way. I think he is without a doubt my number one favorite Champion of all time now.
But as for Sonia, well, I dunno...maybe I’m nitpicky or remembering things wrong but she seemed to drop her disdain for researching the legend of the “Darkest Day” like a hat at some point. Granted, I still think her character arc while it wasn’t even needed was very well done. I loved listening to her dork out about the legends, her research, all of it. It was spectacular. And ever since I first found out she was childhood friends with Leon before the game even came out, ladies and gents, these two have dun been my OTP. The only one still challenging that notion is Raihan at this point, lol.
And now...we get to Oleana and Chairman Rose.
Oleana is just...kind of a nothing character for me, personally. Even after knowing about her Garbardor and all that, sorry fam, she ain’t doin’ it for me. She was a red herring so overblown and obvious it has since been laughable that anybody thought she was gonna be this gen’s Lusamine. She is just...some really crazy lady who happens to be passionate about her job. Ok.
Rose, however, is an absolute bastard. And I love it. However, I do have a problem with this, as it sort of connects to my earlier point with Bede. His relationship with Bede is...I don’t even know if I could call it a father-son relationship. I mean, yeah, he basically adopted him, but he disowns him at the drop of a hat. Granted, what Bede did was wrong, but...really? I guess that’s just how much of a dick he is, but, there’s no closure to that. Even after finding out what a horrible, deplorable man Rose is, Bede never talks to him after he’s disowned. Maybe this was meant to be a “Well it’s better he moves on to the next chapter of his life as soon as possible” sort of thing. But his sudden taking under Opal’s wing did not accomplish that feeling with me. So it feels sort of...hollow, to me. There’s no conclusion, follow-up, it’s almost as if Bede didn’t even know who Rose was anymore after Opal scooped him up. And yeah, Bede says “Everything has gone wrong since I met you” but...here’s the problem; That’s as much as he goes into being affected by Rose. It’s not too important, I guess, but it’s something that bothered me, personally. Rose’s motivations seem...ok, I guess. It’s about what I was expecting. Seriously though, his battle theme has no business being that good.
Those are all my thoughts on the characters, at least any that were all that worth talking about. Without further ado: Allow me to introduce y’all to my babies...
As I mentioned on Monday, my team consists of an Appletun, Centiskorch, Greedent, Hatterene, Inteleon, and an Eiscue. And I only just now realize like 5 out of 6 of them have names that start with a “C” lmao.
First up, we have my very first darling: Chastity
There’s a few things one should know about this slick little bitch:
Big shock, she was a huuuge cry baby as a Sobble. Like, mortified of pretty much everybody. Total mama’s girl. But as a Drizzile she was just a total grump goth binch. The only one of my Pokemon in my camp she would give the time of day is her dear friend Chariot, who at the time was a Hattrem. They pretty much grew up together and they’re besties now.
But now that Chastity is fully grown, well...she’s a little...flirtatious. Oh, no, not with the boys on her team. No no no. Every camp we step onto she’s just flirtin’ like a mad woman. She even managed to seduce my dad’s Cinderace who was already a huge playboy
Still, I can’t stay mad at this cute little brat. She’s still a total mama’s girl at heart and I love her to death. Btw, her Snipe Shot is ridiculously strong, though that’s probably because she’s still holding a Mystic Water haha
Up next is our resident lady in waiting: Chariot
I found Chariot in the Motostoke Outskirts and she has always been a picky snob even as a Hattena. She only ate small portions unless it was Whipped Cream Curry. Though nowadays I’m sure she only eats in such small portions to maintain her figure...
As I said before, she and Chastity have pretty much always been best friends. I definitely love to imagine her always hassling Chastity for her less than lady-like behavior though, haha. Chariot was weirdly sleepy as a Hattrem, though. Like...she dozed off a lot. She must’ve been getting plenty of beauty sleep for her evolution lol.
I used to have a Toxtricity on my team named Ripper before I found an Eiscue for the League, and she seemed quite enamored with him. At least for the long period he was with us, she talked to him 50% of the time when I stopped for a little break. It was incredibly adorable, though I fear what might happen if I leave them alone at a daycare for too long... <(⚆_⚆;)>
As a grown Hatterene, she’s rather dainty and conversative. I’m actually surprised, lately she’s starting to talk to some of her other fellow team mates lately. I suppose she’s not as stuck-up as she pretends to be, haha.
Up next we have our looonnnggg boy: Mushu
I picked up Mushu at Kabu’s gym. He was pretty shy as a tiny Sizzlipede and often avoided talking to most of his team mates. He was pretty spooked by a lot of them, actually, particularly Ripper for reasons I never quite understood. I guess when Ripper was still a baby, Mushu didn’t understand why he cried so much and was terrified of the loud noises he made lol.
However, he grew into a long boi rather quickly and he’s pulled us through some pretty tough spots in the gym challenges so I like to spoil him with lots of play time. He’s got a Jolly nature and honestly, it shows a lot more now that he’s all grown up. He loves to play and races with his team mates pretty much all the time. Rip Caramel, your utter annihilation will not be forgotten. He’s a very sweet and almost gentle boy and I honestly feel bad for all the battering he’s had to take before because I was a little too eager to take on opponents way out of my league.
A couple of fun facts about him before we move on:
His favorite curry in the curry dex is Smoked Tail Curry, which he always eats in gigantic portions. He freaking loves camping on Route 6 or in Stow-On-Side, I guess he really loves the heat.
Up next is my precious dumpling baby: Caramel
I first caught Caramel on Route 5, and I love love looove my baby apple pie. He’s such a chill and adorkable little dragon and I’m not one to pick favorites but...oh, who am I kidding? He’s totally my favorite.
As an Applin he was just too cute. He was a little slow and none of his team mates seemed to understand him so they tended to leave him by himself. So I ended up having to give him lots of attention so he wasn’t too lonely. And gosh was he just the cutest little baby apple. Of course, he wasn’t an Applin for very long, so there’s not much to speak of regarding his early stages.
However, once he evolved, he became a fucking tank. Caramel can take hits like a freaking champ and since I gave him Draco Meteor he’s practically an unstoppable beast. Of course, by heart, he’s a Lax boyo and enjoys the littlest things in life: Like the nice breezes in the Wild Area, or his Apple Curry, even if it’s snowing something fierce outside he’s all about it. And I just- argh he’s so fuckin’ cute! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Up next we’ve got the chunky cheeked baby: Peter Griffin Conker
Conker is a Gentle boy who’s been with me since the very beginning at Route 1, and it fits since objectively he’s probably the weakest Pokemon I’ve got on my team. But that’s ok, because he’s definitely scored us a couple of hard gym challenges just like Mushu has. He was definitely useful for buying some time when I needed it, that’s for sure.
He was pretty chattery as a Skwovet, even if some of his team mates weren’t all that talkative looking at you, Chastity. This probably comes as no surprise, but he’s always had a bottomless stomach. Seriously, he’s eaten large portions even as a baby Skwovet and it baffles me. Guess he’s just a really hungy boy, lol.
As a fully grown, chunky Greedent, he’s pretty slow. Like, really slow. Even when he runs it’s like a snail tracking through peanut butter and molasses. And it’s too cute to watch. I really wish I could give him belly rubs tbh, he looks like the type that’d enjoy those, haha. These days he’s best friends with my Eiscue, Cubert. They usually race each other after they have lunch.
And finally, one of my greatest MVP’s: Cubert
Cubert joined us very late in the game on Route 10. And while unfortunately he ended up taking Ripper’s place, I knew he’d be a good addition to the team. I’ve given him Hail and Aurora Veil, which is super useful for battle prep. It’s pretty lucky I was able to find this little guy waddlin’ around up there on my way to Wyndon.
As I said before, he was pretty anti-social with everybody at first. Though I’m sure that’s because he was so new by the time we got to the League. Thankfully, Conker got him out of his shell and they’re best friends. He still seems a little shy around the others, and even myself, but I’m just glad he’s got somebody to talk to. Not much to say about him unfortunately, since he’s so reserved and tends to keep to himself, but I’m sure that’ll change eventually with time.
Now that’s everyone that’s on my current team, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my boy Ripper at all, so, allow me to introduce an old friend who’s been livin’ in retirement for the past few days:
I first picked up Ripper at a Nursery while I was omw over to Hulburry, I believe. So Ripper was with us for a damn long time until I picked up Cubert. Initially I had hoped he’d be a High Key Toxtricity, but I’ll take what I get. Besides, he was more than helpful with quite a lot of battles, especially Opal’s gym.
He was pretty loud as a Toxel, which should come as no surprise. Always throwing tantrums and never really seemed to eat anything bigger than a small portion of whatever curry I cooked, so he was picky just like Chariot was. All around a bastard baby, really. He didn’t really start getting onto the battle field until he evolved, in all honesty.
But once he did, hoo boy, he was killin’ the competition like a pro. I feel pretty bad I didn’t take him into the League with me, but I felt like Cubert would’ve been more useful so I swapped ‘im out. I’ve been pulling him back out of the PC box for some more training lately to help him catch up to make up for it, though. And he seems pretty happy about it, so bygones are bygones I suppose.
And it seems he’s still very much taken with Chariot. Sigh, young love, so adorable. Anyways, respects to the OG madhouse that got me through some toughies, you did good out there buddy. ;w;
Alright, well, that’s just about all I have to discuss, for now. I hope this wasn’t too droning of a post or anything. But before you head out, I’ve got a little surprise. Since this was such an interesting experience, I’m opening a new Tumblr based on my journey that will follow my Trainer OC Luna and her adventures through Galar. If you’re curious to check it out, click here. I don’t really have an upload schedule, so just keep your eye out for any posts in the future. Hope you guys enjoy it!

Top 10 Least Favorite Pokemon
You know what’s harder than making a top favorites list? A least favorite one. I was particular about this list because I wanted my own personal opinion on the matter instead of adding to the echo chamber that can be the fandom’s. I don’t hate these Pokemon. These are the ones I care for the least. Also, the placements kept changing for this list, but I feel like I finally put everyone on here in the right order now.
10) Whismur Line
The only reason this line is the Normal typing is because Game Freak hasn’t made the Sound typing official. Hell, Electric, or even Steel, would have made more sense. But nope we got these weird fleshy sound-based things that I’m never excited to see.
9) Greedent
I take back everything I said about Diggersby (still wished it didn’t have the belching model cry though), and I’m directing that towards Greedent. It looks like your typical fat, lazy, and not particularly bright cartoon character. Almost feel like they were a bit lazy in this design. Like… they could have done something more, or less since it’s large enough. I feel like Game Freak is trying to recreate a likeness to Snorlax, since it’s the poster child for obese Pokemon, but keeps falling short by giving us the ugliest designs. We don’t need more fat normal types. We’ve got plenty.
8) Electrode
Hey guys, let’s make this Pokeball based Pokemon flip upside down, make it less pissed off and call it an evolution! Also, it’s going to be crazy fast as well explode, most likely killing anything nearby, because why the fuck not? Boring and dangerous… what a match made in hell for a design!
7) Pheromosa
It’s an almost 7 foot tall sentient cockroach with legendary stats. Nope. Just nope. *flees*
6) Grimmsnarl Line
I have been disappointed with this evolutionary line since seeing the leaks of Impidimp. I know a lot of Faerie lore and it ticks me off that they chose a Goddamn Goblin for the first Dark/Fairy type. Also, and I know not all Faeries are cute and cuddly, but why does Game Freak keep trying to sneak in ugly Fairy types? About 95% of the Fairy typing has a cute or pleasing ascetic. That’s one of its themes, that and trying to throw pink on everything, so why give us this ugly line?
The only indicator of this thing remotely being Fairy typing at a glance is that it’s pink. I would have never gotten Fairy otherwise from it. Goblins might be in Faerie Tales, but they aren’t Faeries.
The only one in this line that remotely gives off the Dark typing to me is Morgrem. The other two not so much. Putting black on a Pokemon is maybe another indicator of the Dark typing, but even then it ain’t helping…?
Overall to me this thing is goofy to ugly looking with its design and typing a complete mess. It irritates me that our first combination of Fairy and Dark is this line…
Also, using it in a playthrough and it pisses me off that I’m not getting a Fairy move until it reaches its final evolution! That’s if I don’t want to grind up watt points in the Wild Area for a Fairy TR, or beat Opal before getting said evolution!
5) Shiinotic
Fairy typing makes sense for Morelull when you realize what it’s based on. Hell, even Ghost does. But Shiinotic? I don’t care if mushrooms are a big thing in Faerie Culture. You can’t just design some ugly ass alien mushroom hybrid then slap the Fairy typing on it because of mushrooms or lore from a pre evolution! While we’re at it let’s make the Amoongus and Breloom line Fairies too!
Morelull should have been a single stage line. It would have made sense. But no. They just wanted to make an ugly Fairy type just to prove they could say: “hey fandom I know you’re sick of all the cute and pink Fairy types so here’s an ugly one to change things up!”
And don’t get me *started* on that ugly ass shiny! Game Freak: bright yellow and muddy browns are a terrible color combination! Guess why?
4) Spinda
You know how I praised Alcremie for having multiple forms because of what it was and why it made sense for it? Well I have the opposite opinion regarding Spinda.
If I didn’t believe in the golden rule of everyone having a favorite of each Pokemon then I’d very much assume this thing wasn’t liked by anyone.
Everything about its design annoys me. Why is it a panda? And before anyone tries to tell me otherwise, it’s in its American/English name. Why is it in a constant state of vertigo? I literally was trying to think of a typing it would be better off as instead of the Normal typing and none come to mind. So it’s normal because a) it’s an animal or b) because they needed to give it a typing and no other typing fit.
And out of ALL the Pokemon why does this one have an almost endless possibility of “forms”? This thing has got to be a living dex collector’s worst nightmare!
3) Archeops
This Pokemon is on here for pure personal reasons. Technically there are a few other Pokemon that I feel the same towards, but this one was the worst about it.
You know you have a stupid powerful stat as a non-psuedo legendary and legendary when you need an ability to nerf you. What’s worse is when you need a pretty bulky Pokemon to soak up the damage you reap before said ability does nerf you.
It was always Goddamn terrifying to run into this Pokemon in White 2. Not only was a good chunk of my team weak to Flying, but my Samurott couldn’t take more than one hit from it. Not to mention it didn’t do enough super effective damage to OHKO this thing. So I was never happy to run into this thing because I would only get out of the fight with a lot of collateral damage to my party!
This wasn’t the only Pokemon that was this fucking difficult to deal with in Unova. There is definitely a power imbalance in these games which made playing them a pain in the ass. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE Black 2 & White 2, but fuck me if this wasn’t my biggest issues with those games…
(Some of y'all are probably wondering about Slaking, and Slaking is actually easier to deal with thanks to its typing and ability readily triggering.)
2) Pelipper
This Pokemon was originally going to be my least favorite Water type on my favorite and least favorite typings lists, but I think its placement on this list suits it better.
I honestly don’t mind its pre-evolution Wingull. Wingull is kinda cute. Wonder Trade had me groaning every time I saw one, but that was more the player’s fault than anything.
Pelipper is just such a poorly designed Pokemon. Like, what were they thinking when they essentially fused the beak and stomach together? How can this thing carry its front heavy, well front? I assume it can handle all of that weight being airborne since I doubt it can get around any other way with its stubby little feet.
Then they gave it the Drizzle ability and suddenly people give a shit about its ugly ass…
The only time I’ve “willingly” used one was in my Wonderlocke, which was only due to the fact that I was in dire need of a water type, and I'll tell you that right now that I didn’t want to resort to using it. I’m pretty sure it died at the very end in the Champion battle… wasn’t all that sad to lose it if I’m being honest.
This isn’t just reserved for this Pokemon, but I absolutely hate the dual typing of Water/Flying. Nothing says “throw a rock at me” more than this typing combination.
Overall I just don’t like anything about this Pokemon.
1) Greninja
This Pokemon used to be a lot lower on this list, but as I mentioned right before the list that the order changed as I was making it. I can promise you that this Pokemon isn’t on here because of how popular it is (there are others that would be on here if that was the case). There are many other reasons I will go over as to why this one is on the list.
The first is my experience using a basic one in XY. It’s learn set of moves is terrible, and that’s because it learns a lot of physical moves despite having a much better Special Attack. When I thought about the aspects of a ninja’s special attack being higher than physical it made much more sense. It had little to no options for Dark type moves with one of the best moves for it not being available till you’ve gotten the 8th badge for Waterfall. Greninja was the weakest member of my team with my Aromatisse putting in much more work than it! If Greninja is not competitively trained as well as has any of its hidden abilities then it’s not really that useful. I kept the one from that playthrough because I don’t have the heart to release it or get rid of it…
The second is its design. I very much don’t care for it (its tongue scarf is gross!). Its middle evolution looks so much better to me, and it made me sad evolving it into this ugly thing…
The third is its typing. I’ve had some time to think about it and I’ve wondered to myself: why is Greninja a Dark type? Thinking of the history, and to some extent the mythology of ninjas, nothing screams Dark type to me. I’m also taking into account of Dark being Evil in Japan, and nothing about ninja inherently screams Evil or Dark typing. Then I found myself thinking about its other typing in Water which brought me to the conclusion that the only reason Greninja is a Water type is for two reasons: 1) It’s a starter and 2) it’s a frog.
So you’re probably thinking by this point: “well Radish if you don’t like its typings then what would you change them to?” Unfortunately, I’d keep Water since it’s not the only Pokemon to have a typing based on the animal it is (looking at you Poliwag line!). Dark typing would be replaced with Ghost since ninjas in their lore and mythology can traverse and interact with the spiritual world.
I will address the elephant in the room for my closing thoughts on this Pokemon: Greninja and the fandom. I wholeheartedly believe that if Greninja didn’t have the hidden abilities that it did that it wouldn’t be as favored as it is among the fanbase. As someone who used a basic ability one in hopes of giving it a chance I was greatly disappointed, and didn’t understand why this Pokemon was so popular. That’s why I feel as though the competitive scene is where it has gotten all of its fame from. People give Charizard so much shit for being overrated but do they for Greninja? (Not a big fan of Charizard for those who wanna accuse me as such.)

Let’s Talk About Pokemon - Skwovet and Greedent
819: Skwovet
Then we move onto the woodland mammal of the region. Skwovet is, I'll just be upfront about it, not particularly exciting. Not that I think these early-gamer rodents are ever meant to be, but we've had decent ones before. Like Furret! And Patrat! Skwovet feels a lot more run-of-the-mill than even those kinds of common rodents. It also falls into the trap of being the second, no, THIRD squirrel in the series after Pachirisu and Emolga, only making Skwovet feel all the more redundant. Especially since it’s notably more regular looking than either of its precessors, which is saying something since those two were pretty basic Pika-clones.
Skwovet's design isn't bad though. It's cute and cheaply innocent enough in the same way Bidoof is. And it's main thing is that it stuffs loads of berries into its mouth, constantly scavenging for food to store for colder seasons. Yeah, that sure is what squirrels do.
Personal Score: 5/10
820: Greedent
Greedent is notably better in regard to just being a played-straight squirrel. It just pulls off the naturalistic look better with some nicer-to-look-at colors and even if it's still mostly just a squirrel critter, its features are exaggerated enough to have it be a nice enough cartoon animal design. Even if it's still not too terribly exciting.
One neat little detail they threw in is that when it takes damage or faints, you see berries fall out of its big tail by accident. It's using that big tail to store food in! Which is a funny visual gimmick. But evidently even if it does this, Greedent is just dim-witted enough to be constantly forgetting where it hid its food away. Which does reflect a common behavior in squirrels where they bury nuts and seeds it finds under the ground for later, but then forgets about them and then their food stores grow into plants.
I do also like that, even though it keeps its animalistic eyes, it has lighter fur markings around their eyes to make them look a bit more like cartoon eyes. That's nice! And kinda preferred to just outright giving them regular cartoon eyes. Greedent's face in general is funny. Who can resist that dumb smile?
Personal Score: 6/10

So leak season is wrapping up. I’ll go over some personal opinions on each new pokemon/form we know of. I would do an image but tumblr, for some reason, refuses to let me upload them, but you can find them somewhere. We can probably expect maybe 1-5 more in terms of missing mons or mythicals, but this is about what we have right now and seems to be the most complete we’re gonna get.
Grookey Line: Best of the starters strictly because I expected more from the other two and Rillaboom is actually a decent design.
Scorbunny Line: Disappointing, too humanoid. Why tf does it need shorts? Why are its arms so short and nubby? This isn’t a pokemon, let alone a starter, it’s a furry oc that got slipped in somehow. Raboot, though, looks adorable. However, it too doesn’t look like a Pokemon as much as it looks like an Undertale OC.
Sobble Line: The biggest disappointment. I had my hopes on this one, but then, ONCE AGAIN, they made Intelleon too humanoid. I realize its based on a Basilisk Lizard, but it could’ve still resembled more of an actual monster than some Sly Cooper/Gex oc reject. I’m legitimately still angry this was approved.
Corviknight Line: Really amazing. I fell in love with Corviknight the first time I saw him because I LOVE RAVENS and I LOVE GIANT BIRDS, and this is such an interesting regional bird with a STEEL half typing. It’s honestly tied with Talonflame for me. Also, Rookidie and Corvisquire? Really cool looking. That being said, I can’t really tell the difference between regular Corviknight and G-Max
Skwovet and Greedent: They’re okay. Not really life changing. About as forgettable as other regional rodents. I will say, Greedent looks too much like it comes from a Disney cartoon.
Wooloo and Dubwool: Wooloo won over everyone at the beginning, but I love Dubwool. It looks soft and tough at the same time. Not much more to say about it.
Gossifluer and Eldegost: Cute, but Gossifluer feels more complete than Eldegost to me.
Nickit and Thievul: I LOVE THESE! They’re Dark, which is strange since I could see them as part fire, but I guess they can’t delve too deep into Ninetales and Delphox territory. I hope they’re strong and not Mightyena tier weak
Yamper and Boltund: I wasn’t really all for Yamper’s 3d model. Artwork is better by far, but it could’ve been better. I feel like Boltund falls into the same category. It looks like a cartoon dog, but that’s about it. Maybe if they redid colors, give it some fiercer eyes, I’d like it a bit more. Right now its a firm Meh for me.
Milcery and Alcremie: I hate it when this phrase is used, but I gotta say it: Milcery looks like a digimon. Specifically a Fresh or In-training Digimon. I say this as an avid Digimon AND Pokemon fan. Its cute, but still, Digimon. Alcremie is okay, but I don’t think it needs more than one form. Also not really deserving of a G-Max form, imo. The G-Max form seems way too over designed and just… excessive.
Orbeetle Line: Love the typing, hate the designs. Blippug and Dottler look like Mario Galaxy enemies and Orbeetle looks like a reject Sonic Lost World enemy. Seems kind of pointless to make another ladybug when we have Ledian.
Morpeko: Standard Pikachu clone, honestly the base form is boring and just unappealing. However, the Hangry form? God damn why couldn’t that just be the base form? I love it, its interesting, the colors work and are symmetrical, ITS AN ANGRY SHIT. I’ll never feed mine if I ever use it.
Chewtle and Drednaw: All I gotta say is thank God that they revealed Drednaw first, cuz if they revealed Chewtle first? Yuck, no thank you, just disgusting, will be power-leveling ASAP. Drednaw, however, looks really cool and vicious. Its G-Max form is neato too. Definitely getting one when I buy the game used.
Hatterene Line: A strange concept, but nicely executed. It’s basically Galarian Gardevoir but without arms. Probably gonna be pr0nned just as much, though. I can’t really tell what I think about its G-Max form because its so blurry.
Arrokuda and Barroskewda: THE BOI IS A POKEMON AND IS REAL! thank god. Visually appealing! I also really like its evolution, too. Probably won’t use it because it looks about as useful as Finneon and Basculin. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly suprised.
Cramorant: I LOVE THIS GOOFY BOI
Sillicobra and Sandaconda: Really solid designs. I love them. I might try to use one for my team. Not overly designed, nothing too wild, its great, perfect.
Sinistea and Polteageist: Hate it, thanks. I do not want to drink your bodily fluids you strange perverted man.
Rolycoly Line: I’m so sorry my child. They did you so dirty. I’m a fan of the typing, but Karcoal and Coalossal just…. Do not do it for me. I’m sure I’m not the only one that wanted a badass train or something. Coalossal in particular looks like a boring fusion of Rhyperior and Magmortar. At least the G-Max form is decent.
Cupant and Copperajah: Ngl, I thought we were getting Galarian Phanpy, but not bad. I like the design and the fact that we finally have like. A legit elephant, and not a small tire boi or a mammoth swine. I like em!
Impidimp Line: I cannot believe it. This bastard. I hated him. I despised him. And yet Morgrem and Grimmsnarl redeemed it. Honestly I just love Grimmsnarl’s whole look. It looks like you have an ugly jester that snapped and went full grimdark demon-lord. I’d love to have one on my team. Cannot tell much about the g-max form but it looks cool
Toxel and Electox: I loved the grumpy boi, and I LOVE the sparky boi. Seriously, this thing looks so cool! Like maybe a bit like a neopet or a crash bandicoot oc but in a GOOD WAY. I definitely want one for my team and could see it as the Lucario/Zoroark of the region. Plus the typing! Oh my god the typing! It’s so great! Ground types might be a bitch but Rillaboom and Drednaw can take care of those easily.
Snorm and Frosmoth: God, I love it. Snorm? Babey. Frosmoth? Effervescent. Brilliant. Simple. An interesting Ice and Bug Type, which we’ve never had. Brilliant.
Sizzlepede and Centiskorch: BRUH. A fire bug type that actually looks badass as hell! And its G-Max form? It’s a dream! Just a long ass MONSTER! I love it! I want one on my team!
Clobbopus and Grapploct: BABY BOI! BABY! I love this punchy boi! And its evolution looks really great! I’m not really a fan of just pure fighting type but I can live with it. BABY!
Duraludon: Most likely has a prevo, but honestly? Kinda meh. It’s not really that strong of a design. Fan of the typing tho, but that’s it.
Stonjourner: Well, it’s a James Turner Pokemon, that’s for sure. It’s okay.
Pincurchin: Kinda blurry, can’t really tell, but I think it’ll be about as useful as Pyukumuku.
Indeedee: Decent, but probably just a forgettable Chancey clone. Unfortunately I recognize furbait when I see it.
Applin and Flapple: Kind of a lazy idea but it works, I like Flapple. I hope its part dragon but something tells me it’ll just be bug or flying. The G-max is blurry but I am a fan.
Dragapult Line: I fucking love these. Admittedly they look like TemTems or some Pokemon IOS ripoff and less like Pokemon Pokemon, but I do like them and especially just the creativity of it evolving and just collecting young around it. Brilliant.
Falinks: I like the concept. I think its creative, but just as a stand-alone seems kind of pointless. Maybe it’ll have a change forme?
Fossils: Okay, I’m grouping these together because the idea is super intriguing. Mix and match parts to get a pokemon! I like it and its a nice nod to Britain’s own mishaps with fossil classification. I do wish that we could see the original forms because it’s bugging me that they’ll never be completed.
Galarian Meowth and Purrserker: I actually really like this feral bastard. I feel like he’d knock a pot off the cabinet while smiling at me in the face. Purrserker is a bit weird but I think it might be a Viking? Interesting either way.
G-Max Kanto Meowth: ehhhh… pointless, obviously just a meme. We gotta stop making things longer and calling it a day, lads. Also why K-Meowth when we have Galar Meowth?
(Possibly?) Galarian Farfetch’d and Sirfetch’d: Gonna be real, Sirfetch’d is pointless. I think it, by itself, could’ve just been a Galarian Farfetch’d and doesn’t do enough to warrant it as an evolution. Can’t really tell much about the real G-F-Fetch’d other than its browner and has a bigger leek. Idk why we couldn’t get Madame from the Space World Gold Beta, that one fit the origin much better.
Galarian Mr Mime and Mr Rime: I hated Mr Mime when I first saw it, I hated it in the Det. Pikachu movie, and I hate its Galarian form. Mr Rime is tolerable but he’s on, ironically as an ice type, thin fucking ice. The naming is awful though, really goes against the Mime Jr and Mr Mime aesthetic the names had. Mime Sr? Mime II? Who knows.
G Corsola and Cursola: I love it, very topical. I feel so sad for Corsola because it’s just been so abused lately by Mareenie, and now it’s dying. Poor baby.
G Zigzagoon, Linoone, and Obstagoon: Just… Kinda there. Its okay. I much prefer the originals. Obstagoon is okay I guess but I’d rather it be its own design. It was so obviously made for the pointless team yell.
G Ponyta and Rapidash: Really cute, really wonderful, although I just wanna say… I called it. That being said, I find it weird that it’s mainly Psychic and only part fairy as Rapidash. That, and it needs Alicorn wings. I don’t want to toot my own horn, buuuuuutttt I kinda like my design better, lol. I would love to use it though.
G Weezing: Dough Dimmadome, owner of the Dimsdale Dimmadome, and I’m dimmadone with this dimmabullshit. It’s okay but I don’t see why it’s fairy. At least it has an interesting ability.
G Darumaka and Darmanitan: I uh… hmm. I feel like someone is going to be offended by it. Don’t know why. Its okay. Darumaka wears ice type better than Darmanitan. I vastly prefer the original one.
G Stunfisk:… why? I mean… interesting that it’s a bear trap now with a pokeball mimic mouth- Which raises questions. Does this thing hunt trainers!? I wasn’t really a fan of the original but this one is okay. James definitely pushed for this one though. Could’ve gone to Zoroark or Druddigon but nah, nah, STUNFISK. EVERYONE’S FAVORITE GEN 5 POKE.
G-Max Formes not covered above: Gonna just say it now, I think a bunch of these would’ve just been better as Megas.
Charizard: Pointless. Why do we have another Charizard forme? I like the design but like, that’s THREE. Bulbasaur and Squirtle aren’t even IN Galar but he gets a G-Max form. It’s honestly pissing me off at this point.
Pikachu: Pointless, its fat now, that’s it. it doesn’t do enough to differentiate itself from normal Pikachu. It’s not even original, it’s just older Pikachu, that’s it. Sorry, I’m not a fan, get over it.
Eevee: Fluffy boi. I like it, but again, doesn’t do enough to warrant it. I’d much rather have a new Eeveelution than a forme that Game Freak will just toss out next gen in favor of some other dumb gimmick.
Butterfree: I love it. Its too bad it isn’t a mega.
Machamp: Awesome, I wish it was part fire.
Kingler: Dude, I am legit afraid of this thing. It’s cool, but also I am SO afraid of spider crabs. Brilliant.
Lapras: Honestly I can’t really tell enough from the image we have, but I like that they gave Lapras something.
Garbodor: Okay, James? We get it, you like some weird Pokemon. I do love this ironically though. It actually makes me like Garbodor. But why not fuckin Golurk?
Legendaries:
Zacian and Zamazenta: I think they’re decent but should just be the same pokemon with different formes, not enough to differentiate them. I am curious about this alternate form Zacian has, and I guess Zamazenta will have one too. Maybe these are damaged or low powered forms?
Eternatus: HOLY FUCK. I LOVE THIS THING. It doesn’t look like a Pokemon at all but it is so imposing! So threatening! I love it! Both forms! Presumably there’s a third forme too! I definitely think its the source of Dynamax power, and I think it definitely is like the skeletal remains of its former self. It’s just so interesting, man. I want to know more about it. GF, and especially Masuda. DO NOT. FUCK THIS UP. DO NOT. POKEMON Z THIS. Give us. Proper Closure. God dammit. Do not. Fuck this up. I swear to god.
Overall: I hate the starters tbh, but overall a decently designed gen. Definitely polarizing because of some very questionable designs, on top of the Dexit situation. I’m definitely miffed that, AGAIN, GAME FREAK refuses to do 100, I’m saying AT LEAST 100 new Pokemon. No, I do not count alternate forms as new Pokemon, otherwise every Unown would be its own Pokemon. And James Turner definitely needs to workshop some more because he has some great hits but when he misses, by god does he miss.
I like most of these though, I’ll say that much. I hope there’s more, because I need more Pokemon to be satisfied. I’ll definitely get the game, but I’m waiting to buy used because I can’t reward GF for their greedy Dexit cut to promote Home. Sorry, that’s just how it is.
Potential Team I have planned:
Rillaboom
Corviknight
Drednaw
Electox
Centiskorch/Frosmoth
Dragapult/Grapploct
Just depends on what I happen upon first.
edit: more pokemon. Eiscue is okay but isn’t a pokemon, again, it’s more like a cartoon penguin, that’s it. New Toxtricity is okay, prefer original. Indeedee has gener distinction which okay, I guess I fell for the hips. Still fur bait. G Yanmask and Runerigus: Runerigus should’ve just been Regional Coffagrigus. It’s honestly a lazy dex filler. I like the design but it’s not enough to be it’s own dex entry.
#pokemon swsh#swsh leaks#swsh spoilers#ps: my personal opinions as a man that has been a fan for 20 years and loved most of it
