✨Pairing✨: Terry Richmondxblack!singlemom!reader
Summary🪄: Your daughter’s at it again…
🚨: pretty much all fluff🌸
A/N🎤: it’s my first Terry fic🤗! I’m very nervous (then again when am I not🙃), but I hope you guys like what I came up with☺️
*DISCLAIMER!: I DO NOT CLAIM OWNERSHIP of pictures used as they were all found via Pinterest*
“Ma come on!” The excited nine-year-old pulled you just hard enough past the barricades that your steps were a tad more hurried to avoid stumbling over your daughter.
Callie relax, the rides aren’t going anywhere.”
“I know, but Jianna-,”
“Isn’t going anywhere either,” you chuckle still being led by the girl clearly on a mission with her eyes set on the infamous ‘High Flyer’.
Besties since kindergarten, you couldn’t lie about how cute the duo was. They were practically stuck at the hip during school - always working or playing together at recess - and outside wasn’t all too different seeing that one would typically be at the other’s house. It always brought a smile to your face watching their animated conversations and lighthearted debates.
And after this past year, you were especially glad to see none of that had changed. That she had a true friend to support her during the tough times.
“There she is!,” Callie smiles already beginning to bounce and skip towards her best friend. Jianna begins to frantically wave alerting the much taller and unfamiliar man to her right. Jianna’s mom’s boyfriend maybe? She did mention a new guy she was really into...
Before you can stop her, Callie easily slips away running to hug her friend - and introduce herself to the tower of muscle who adorably shakes her hand with an amused smile of his own.
“Um Callie-?,”
With the man in tow behind them, Jianna tightly wraps her arms around your waist in one of her famous warm hugs before peering up at you with a sweet, “Hey auntie!”
The term given to you by the young girl herself when she was about six since, “You take care of me like my other aunties. So that makes you my aunt too!” You didn’t have the heart to go into the semantics with the wide-eyed little girl, so you just smiled and said, “Okay sweetheart.”
“This is my uncle Terry from the army. Uncle Terry, this is my friend’s mom.”
He was broader up close, and the orange shirt stretching across his chest and shoulders only made that more apparent. That paired with the dark jeans over his thick thighs didn’t help the ache beginning to pulse in your core that you haven’t felt in…damn when was the last time you felt that?
“Hi Callie’s mom,” he greets with probably the prettiest smile you’ve seen in this town on a man and an outstretched hand. A hand that completely envelopes your own once you place yours in his.
“Hi Jianna’s uncle Terry,” you softly chuckle along with the man himself.
God that deep baritone voice was dangerous. And his grayish-green eyes?! You didn’t even know they came in that color.
“Well we’re going to the line bye!,” Callie rushes grabbing Jianna’s hand. Your quick, “Hold it” begrudgingly halts both girls turning around to face you again.
“Tell us what rides you’re going to, and we’ll follow behind.”
“Mom we’re nineee,” she whines with that pouty secret weapon of hers and batting those curly lashes similar to yours.
“You want us to choose the rides?”
There’s a brief, silent stare off between you and your mini me before she announces they’ll be in line at the High Flyer.
“And we’ll be sitting at that bench.” It was about 20 feet away and had the perfect view of both the entrance and exit lines so you would always see the girls.
“Spoken like a true mama,” Terry murmurs with a low chuckle as you both sit. Meanwhile you try to ignore the flutter in your lower tummy at how ‘mama’ sounds out of his mouth.
“Reminded myself of my own back there,” you softly laugh while inwardly cringing. Although you’re enjoying your time so far with Terry - a brief, comfortable silence currently between you two - there’s this creeping suspicion you can’t seem to shake. “Is everything okay with Nitta? I thought she was bringing Jianna?”
“She said she wasn’t feeling the best and asked if I could bring her instead,” he casually answers.
Huh..maybe it’s nothing then.
“She also said Jia told her she really wanted me to go so she could show me around? Didn’t know she was meeting yall here until we got out the truck.”
Yep. There it is.
Your quiet ‘huh’ along with the knowing look on your face has his brow rising in intrigue. And admittedly, he thinks it’s cute how your deep brown eyes slightly squint. “What’s up?”
From your sudden shift to surprised, you clearly didn’t expect him to hear you. Or be paying close enough attention to read you so well. Who wouldn’t pay attention to you though? Bright skin that nearly shined gold when the sun hit you just right. Your full lips that looked so soft. Not to mention your body with curves in all the right places that made him realize it’s been too long since his last time.
You debate on whether to say anything, but the way he deeply gazes at you tells you he probably won’t just let it go. “I uh think a couple of nine year old matchmakers may be trying to work their magic.”
Looking back at the girls, they each throw both of you a quick wave now at the front of the line.
“You think it’s working?,” Jianna asks.
“I mean they’re talking? That’s more attention I’ve seen my mom give a guy,” Callie shrugs. “Might be going better though if he brought flowers like I said.”
“Then that would’ve gave us away like I said.”
“Not that Jia doesn’t want to spend time with you though!,” you hurry to correct meeting those hypnotic green eyes again. “She talked about you all the time when you were gone.”
“Really?,” he smiles and you swear you feel your heart skip a beat. Or two.
“Anytime you’d call she’d get so excited. And when you’d send her something for her birthday or Christmas? All she’d talk about for a good week.”
Deep down Terry knew his sister and niece loved him. But actually hearing how he made them feel from another person made him emotional in a way he hadn’t during his time in the service.
“I have a feeling mine was the ringleader here.”
At that moment you can hear both girls squealing and giggling as the carousel like ride gently swings them higher than any playground swing would. Their arms waving and legs kicking before disappearing on the other side.
‘So you were single,’ Terry thought.
“Sorry to get you wrapped up in all this. If it makes you uncomfortable-,”
“Far as I’m concerned, we’re just two friendly adults watching two kids,” he replies holding up his hands showing he saw no harm. “If it makes you uncomfortable though-,”
“No! No I agree, just two friendly adults,” you smile. There was a glint of something behind your eyes that told Terry there was more to your daughter playing Cupid, but rather than dig he opted to leave it alone until you were ready. Hopefully trusting him enough to explain.
“Did you see us?!,” Callie shouts running up to the both of you with Jianna by her side.
“We did. Surprised yall aren’t dizzy going around so much,” you answer making the girls laugh as they shake their heads.
“We should all do the firecracker next!,” Jianna suggests, which of course Callie quickly agrees. Just a few feet across the way, the line was already filling up with teens and adults alike waiting to ride the infamous drop tower that’s been popular since you were a kid. Those already on it screaming as they quickly free fell before stopping halfway to rise and repeat the motion again.
“Afraid I’m gonna have to sit that one out girls, but maybe Uncle Terry will ride with you?”
He doesn’t get a chance to answer before being pulled by the girls. Judging from the quick, concerned glance he gives you he clearly wasn’t a fan of the ride either.
‘Sorry,’ you innocently mouth when he turns to you from the line shaking his head with that cute tilted smile.
‘Later,’ he mouths back, which you didn’t fully get until he brought up the Tilted Record when the girls didn’t know what to ride next.
“You gotta ride it ma,” Callie practically begged. “It’s so much fun!”
“Yea you gotta ride it ma,” Terry playfully winks bringing those flutters back stronger than ever as a heat creeps to your cheeks. A few minutes later, you were smushed into his side pleasantly smothered by his clean, woodsy scent as you all spun around and eventually backwards. Callie and Jianna in the seat behind you having the time of their lives squealing and singing to the music playing overhead.
“You did that on purpose,” you jokingly glare up at the taller man while following behind your still somehow energized kids.
He simply shrugs with a glimpse of a smirk on his lips, “Maybe. You had fun though.”
He might’ve had a point. “Still, friends don’t do that.”
His deep chuckle and wide smile hits you deep instantly making your knees feel like jelly - something you never thought possible let alone experienced. Not even with Callie’s dad. “Best friends mess with each other all the time,” he counters. “Guess we’ve leveled up.”
-
“So Jia’s uncle was nice,” Callie starts. She tries peeking at you in the standing mirror as you dutch braid her hair for the night, but it’s difficult with the way her neck is craned downward.
“He was. We’ll have to get him something for winning those stuffed pigs for you and Jianna.”
“Mhm,” she agrees as you move to the last section. “So what else did you think about him? You think he’s cute?”
You knew she’d been itching to ask since you both got in the car. Especially after Terry was nice enough to make sure you got there okay before wishing you both a good night.
Securing the last braid with the small rubber band, you pat the spot beside you beckoning her to join you in the king sized bed. She instantly climbs in snuggling under the fluffy throw she loved so much. “Callie I don’t want you worrying about me and dating alright? And definitely no more blind dates.”
You still had nightmares about the one with her principal. Who can put away that much shrimp?
“I just want you to be happy. Like how you were with dad,” she whispers peering up at you.
Eventually you’d have to tell her the truth about that strained relationship and how things were only ‘happy’ for her sake.
“I am happy lovie. Long as I have you I’m good,” you smile kissing her on the forehead. “You just focus on being the amazing kid you are okay?”
She nods, sleepily smiling and clearly minutes away from slumber. “Love you ma.”
“Love you too. Now let’s get you to bed.”
Moments after returning to your bedroom, beginning to feel the familiar heaviness of your lids, a couple of short vibrations from your phone stop you from sliding under your covers curious as to who would want something this late.
Hey, it’s Terry. Got your number from Nitta (sent 10:56 pm)
She’s still feeling bad so looks like I’m bringing Jia to dance tomorrow and apparently on snack duty?? (sent 10:57 pm)
Hey and yea forgot it’s her turn. I was next week but we can switch. I’ll pick something up, no worries😊(sent 11:02 pm)
Also I can take Jia if you want? Not sure if you had other plans (sent 11:04 pm)
Was that too much? What if he thought you were trying to pry?
Nah it’s ok, I got her. And thanks for taking over🙏🏽 (sent 11:13 pm)
Look at us, friends helping friends😉 (sent 11:14 pm)
“Nice,” he thought as his hand frustratedly passed over his face. “And with the winky face? Somebody take this damn phone.”
lol always😌! (Sent 11:17 pm)
Terry didn’t realize he was holding his breath until your response finally flashed on his screen allowing him to breathe again. Relief soothing his tense muscles as he sat back against the wooden headboard.
Neither one of you were really able to sleep that night though. Thoughts of the other and the time at the fair admittedly making each a little excited about being together again the next day.
And while you never knew what was planned for the future, something told you this ‘friendship’ would be far different than your other ones.

Best friend
Tumblr media
Lando Norris x reader, George Russell x reader
Summary: You’re about to marry the love of your life. Or so you thought. But his best friend is not happy about it…
Warnings: heartbreak, implied cheating, break up, fluff, love
A/N: I’m not usually writing on request, but this stuck in my head. It’s based on prompt from @yasdiazepam and I hope you like it! Tried my best.
Please don’t use my writings without my permission! Pictures found on Pinterest.
———
Let’s say that my relationship with Lando was messy and chaotic. Me constantly chasing his ass around the paddock or Monaco, or anywhere else he wanted to be, I thought that it was act of love from my side, but I was just desperate to get an attention from him, that he loves me and cares for me.
Then he proposed. Out of nowhere. At the time I was actually thinking about the break up.
Looking at the engagement ring on my hand, it felt heavy, but I said yes, so it means it’s right, isn’t it?
“Baby, you look troubled, are you okay?” Lando sat next to me, his hand took mine with the ring on it and he looked almost proud. I thought that after the idea of marriage, he’d be cool soon-to-be husband, that his flings would go out of the way. But I was so wrong.
“Nothing, just admiring the ring.” I put on my shining smile, like always.
Suddenly the clinking of glass interrupted our conversation, and I looked up at the hostess of the night, our engagement party, it was Lando’s mum. She was the kindest person in the world, I had a great relationship with her, spending time with her at races while Lando was out on the track. Very often she was a support I needed, every time I saw some tabloids about Lando’s newest fling.
———
Looking into the mirror while I was choosing the wedding dress, I felt confused. None of them really was my style, I actually hated it. My mom and my bridesmaids were having a good time, sipping on champagne, not caring about my distressed face.
“Please, sir, this is private session, you can’t-“
I heard associate of the bride boutique speaking disapprovingly at someone, which made me turn around on the spot. My face was reflecting the confusion I felt inside my heart.
“You look- you’re stunning.”
George Russell. Lando’s best friend.
“George, what are you doing here?” I just stood there, watching him, wedding dress on me feeling uncomfortable.
He looked at my party of girls, who were shocked. I gestured for them to leave us alone.
“But dear, you can’t be with any other man than Lando.” My mom tried to oppose, but I dismissed her. When they were out of the room, I looked at George.
“Now tell me. Why are you here?”
He took slow and careful steps towards me, still trying to take in my appearance in that dress.
“I can’t bear it anymore. Clearly nobody sees how you don’t want to do this.”
I snorted at his comment. “What? Of course, I want to get married.”
“But not to Lando.”
I was speechless, maybe he has a point.
“I can’t look at how Lando is careless about you.”
“Why do you even care?”
“Because you’re the centre of my universe.”
George blurted it out, putting a hand over his mouth suddenly, his eyes wide. Then he ran a hand through his hair, his desperation and frustration clear as a day.
“What? But- you don’t actually talk to me when I’m near. You’re always aside, being with Lando when I’m not around and disappearing when I’m close.”
I couldn’t wrap my mind around what he just said.
“That’s because I hate myself for what I feel for you. I hate myself for being in love with my best friend’s fiancée. That’s horrible, yet I can’t help myself. I thought that it goes away, that I’ll find someone else, but then you got engaged and I couldn’t- you can’t marry him.”
He took another few steps towards me, now being so close to me.
“What am I supposed to say to that, George?”
My whispered words were like a needle falling to the ground, being loud in the silence.
“I- .. it’s really selfish from me, but I want you to be happy. And sadly I know, I can see, that you’re not happy with him.” His hands carefully cupped my cheeks, colour of his eyes drowning in mine. Somehow I felt weak in my knees, something in my chest fluttered so much. This was the act I needed, this was an act of a man.
Seeing all the overwhelming images of our relationship with Lando flashing through my mind, my eyes watered.
“You’re right.. I’m not happy, and I don’t want to marry him.. I just- I thought it’s the right thing, that I can change him.”
Gently placing my head on his chest, he ran his hand through my hair gently, while I was clinging onto him, sobbing into his luxurious white shirt. He didn’t care that there will be mascara stains. He didn’t care that he’ll be seen with the crying messy girl.
He cared about me. And that was a lot. And also enough.
———
Buzz of the paddock never fails to amaze me. It was a year since the last time I’ve been here. Since I broke off my engagement with Lando. While I expected him to be angry, he was actually relieved, and we parted our ways as a friends.
As I stood in the box at the garage, admiring the Mercedes’ luxurious surroundings, George was going through his preparations for the upcoming practice session. In the last four months, he showed me the different ways of love, joy and partnership, that I never imagined before. Also he was very careful with my feelings, trying to be slow and smooth with me all the time, knowing that I had a hard time getting from the break up with Lando. I didn’t want to hop into another relationship right away and George understood that.
“Mesmerising, huh?” His voice interrupted my reel of thoughts.
“Yeah, indeed. But not more than you.” My wide smile plastered over my face.
“Ah, and I was starting to get worried that you might be more in love with Mercedes than me.”
“Who said that I’m in love with you?”
He feigned being hurt, placing his hand over his chest dramatically. “That stung, miss.”
I chuckled playfully. “No, really, I feel like home, somehow.”
He smiled softly, feeling the flutter in his stomach, the woman of his dreams cheering for him. Kissing her forehead, he reached for his helmet, putting it on.
“Keep your eyes on me, darling.”
Suddenly I felt rush of emotions through my brain and I stopped him from going to his car.
“I love you, G.”
I placed a kiss over his helmet, the act of affection captured by the cameras everywhere, getting all over the media, making all fans crazy.
I could say, from the wrinkles around his eyes under the helmet, that he had his beautiful smile over his face.
“I’ll show you how much I love you later, darling.”

This flight – compared to my last 3 – was a lot more fun.  Between getting some sleep me and the boys entertained each other enough that time passed quickly.  Even if I spent the first few hours with headphones in pretending to be asleep.  Han sat with me for the flight, taking the opportunity to rest his head on my shoulder as he read a book when I was ‘sleeping’.
When we landed and I turned my phone on I was immediately bombarded with incoming texts.  All from J, who found out about the incident at the airport and apparently freaked out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I left him on read, beyond annoyed with him and Chan.  Even Seungmin, though he was just doing what he was told – he still should have told me.  Good intentions or not, I trusted them, and they broke that trust and treated me like a possession or a child instead of like a person.  Especially J, who knew me better than I knew myself and knew how I would feel about not being told.  And he still chose to do this.  He made this decision for me.
There were no incidents at the landing airport.  The fans were calmer in comparison to the ones at home.  There were two cars waiting for us and I immediately claimed the one Chan wasn’t in.  Instead, I was with Felix, Han, and Bin.
“You made it thought the airports just fine.  Mostly.  You really do make all this look so easy.”  Bin commented as we drove off.
“Being angry helped, but I am happy I didn’t trip or something as well.  Or totally freak out in front of fans when I was drenched in blood.”  I shrugged off his compliment.  The feeling of the blood soaking my skin was still very fresh in my mind.  The smell stuck in my nose.
“If you would have tripped, I'd have laughed hysterically at you.  Forever.”
I swung and hit Bin playfully in the stomach.  “Meanie.”  I pouted and Bin doubled over dramatically, holding his stomach and groaning.
I looked out the window at the new scenery.  The first stop on our mini tour was Australia.  Melbourne to be exact.  Everything looked so like what I grew up with, yet so different.  Everything was so new; I couldn’t wait to see it all.
I patted my bag where my camera bag sat, begging to be opened.  “Do we have any downtime while we are here?”  The schedule on my phone was overwhelming, and I hadn’t yet figured out how to interpret it, so it made sense – but I was working on it.  I knew besides the concerts there were a couple of interviews and photoshoots planned, which I was a bit anxious about.  It would be the first time we split up for a length of time.
“Depends on if Chan and Lino let us out of practice.”  Han answered.  “Why?”
“I want to take photos.  I’ve never been here.  I haven’t gotten to see much at home yet either.  It’s kind of sad.  I bet its beautiful.”
The 3 Omegas exchanged a look.  “We will make sure you have some time.”  Felix promised.  I smiled widely at him and turned back to the scenery.
I took mental notes of the places I wanted to photograph and explore.  And we were so close to the ocean too.  Beach photos had such beautiful natural lighting.
Gasping, I flung my arm excitedly behind me, managing to catch all 3 boys in the chest.  “Look, look, look!”
Bin, who was closest to me, ignored my excited order and gasped for the air I accidentally knocked out of him.  The other 2 looked over.
“Flinders Street Station.  Its famous.”  Felix confirmed.
“It’s yellow!”  It was such an awe-inspiring Victorian style building.  I craned my neck to keep looking at it as we passed, bumping my forehead lightly on the glass of the window, making Han chuckle.  “It’s gorgeous!”  I breathed, fogging the glass in front of me briefly.
“You should see the street art.”
I whipped around to face him.  “Can we?”
He shrugged.  “Why not.  Anywhere you want to go.”
I clapped and squealed, bouncing in my seat in excitement.  I couldn’t wait to get out and see some new, amazing sights.  I had taken pictures of nothing but my Omegas since I came back.  As gorgeous and photographable as they are, I was dying to photograph other things.  Get back into nature and its beauty, and the wonder of the human soul put into things like architecture, sculptures, and art for the public to enjoy and wonder at.
“Oh my god.”  Bin whispered.
Looking over, I saw all three of them staring at me with wide eyes.  “What?”  I stilled myself, becoming self-conscious immediately.
Han shook his head and waved his hands.  “N-no, no, no!  Its just – you’re adorable.”
My face heated instantly, and I covered my cheeks with both hands, trying to hide the blush.  “Shuddup, Hannie!  You’re not funny!”  I whined.
Felix dived over to pull my hands from my face.  “Oh my goodness – you’re blushing!  You’re so red!”
“Lix, Stop it!”  I complained, fighting to get my hands back and hide again.
Lix easily held both my hands with one of his and poked my hot cheek with a wide smile.  Han and Bin joined in the poking as I shrieked and fought to get away, slipping almost completely out of my seatbelt and seat onto the floor in the process.  They finally stopped when the driver called back to us in annoyance.
“No cuddles for you!”  I declared slapping Lixs’ thigh and panting.
He clutched his chest.  You cannot deny me cuddles!”
I struggled to get back into my seat and sat again.  “Watch me, turd.”
“What about them!  They were doing it too!”
“You’re the ringleader!”
Felix gave me his best big eyed, watery pout, complete with a protruding bottom lip.  Full force adorableness x1000 activated.  The blonde sunshine was pulling out all the stop for the cuddles I never would have denied him anyway.  Not in a million years.
I scrunched my nose and pointed at him.  “That’s just not fair!”
“But it’s working, right?  Because I’m your bias.”
I shook my head miming zipping my lips and throwing away the key.  No way would they get me to tell them.  That way lay only trouble.  And they were already competitive enough.
“We already know it is me.  She had more posts about me on insta than anyone else before they deleted everything.  Its obvious.”  Han declared proudly sending me an air kiss.
“Purely coincidental.”  I denied.  “You were just extra cute during a video is all.”  Han pouted.
“What about Hyunjin?  He’s gorgeous!  A prince!”  Bin gushed.
“He is both those things and more.  But I am not telling you my bias.  Give it up.”
“Ah!”  Bin pointed at me and looked at the other two.  “She didn’t deny he was her bias!  Its Hyunjin!”
Han and Felix made noises of acknowledgement and agreement.  “Hyun is not my bias!”  I shouted swiping Felixs phone as he pulled it out to send a mass text of their false discovery.  I held it out of his reach.
We wrestled over the phone until the car came to a stop at our hotel and an annoyed driver ushered us out.  I gave them an apologetic smile on the way by.
The second group met up with us in the lobby.  “What were you doing?  We could see you guys fighting from the other care!”  Ayen asked reaching out to fix my hair to reestablish contact with me after the short ride apart.  Hyun squeezed my hand quickly and Lino swatted my butt to do the same.  Chan steered clear – wisely – and Seungmin hid behind him looking miserable.
“We found out who her bias it!”  Felix announced distracting me from Seungmin.
“You did not!”  I jumped onto Felixs back and locked both hands over his mouth, latching onto him with my legs as he tried to escape.  “I am not telling you if I even have a bias – let alone who it is!”
“Alright, enough!  Behave!”  Chan ordered.  I felt him pull me off Felix and immediately shook him off, still pissed at him for lying to me.
Fine.  Where’s my room?”  I snapped.
We had an entire floor to ourselves.  Between me, the Omegas, security, and other staff, we needed the whole floor.  I got a room to myself, but the boys all doubled up, two per room.  Our rooms were in the middle of the floor – away from the stairway and elevator.
My suitcase was already waiting on the bed for me.  A brand-new luxury branded suitcase full of new clothes and items I would need while on tour – when they weren’t telling me what I needed to wear at least.
As I unpacked and settled in, my phone pinged with a notification.  I had it set to only notify me for the posts the boys make or any lives that are started.  Any other notifications I didn’t really care about and were a bit overwhelming.
It was Chan on a spontaneous live.  Curious, I clicked on the notification and let the live play.  I could see several other Stray Kids already viewing it, probably just as curious as I was.  What prompted Chan to randomly go live?
He was currently talking to someone off camera – I’m assuming Seungmin since that is who he was rooming with – as he waited for people to join.  He sat on his bed, against the headboard and it didn’t look like he had even changed out of the clothes he wore on the plane yet.  I couldn’t make out Sungmin’s responses but could hear he was responding – probably from the other bed from the angle Chan was looking towards.
Suddenly, he sighed heavily and faced the camera.  “Y/n, come get Seungmin.  He is very upset.”
“Hyung!”  Seungmin complained.  He sounded thick and stuffed like he had been crying.  Like when you’re sick with a stuffy nose.
Easily giving in, remembering his miserable look in the lobby, I headed across the hall to their room.  The last thing he needed was to keep mentioning me in his live – especially after what happened at the airport.  I haven’t looked, but I’m sure it’s all over the internet by now.  Posted, gifed, memed, and reposted a thousand times over.  And I suppose since both Chan and J said they made Seungmin stay quiet, I could let him off the hook now.
When I opened the door Chan silently pointed at a lump under the blankets of the second bed in the room.  Seungmin was curled into a ball, completely hiding under his comforter.
Throwing my phone on the bed, I climbed up to lay on top of him, weighing him down securely with my own body weight and letting my scent soak into his blankets.
“My Minnie.”  I called quietly.
A second later Mins hand snuck out of his blanket cocoon; palm open in invitation.  When I took his hand, he immediately jerked both back under his blanket.  I could feel soft puffs of hair as he brought my hand – and scent – closer to his nose.
I patted the blanket where his head was.  “Silly boy.”  I murmured making myself comfortable.
Only then did I realize Chan was talking, starting his live now that fans had a chance to get on.  I had been too distracted taking care of Seungmin to notice.
“…one is alright.  No one was physically hurt in the incident.”  He was abnormally serious, making my interest pique again.  “What happened at the airport was regrettable and it affected not only Y/n – our Alpha – but us as well.”
Twisting at an odd angle so I didn’t rip my hand from Sungmin’s, I took advantage of Chans pause to grab my phone and read the comments.  At the same time the bedroom door opened, and the other Omegas filed in and joined Chan – adjusting the camera to get them all in frame.  Even Seungmin slid gracelessly out from under me to appear.  Together they projected a united front that left me feeling stunned.
“So far we have chosen to ignore the negativity and threats from some members of STAY, never wanting to stifle your opinions.”  Felix began explaining uncharacteristically dim for one of the sunshine twins.
“However, Y/n is one of us.  A Stray Kid.  And our Alpha.  The most important member to us.”  Chan continued.  “And like we would with any member – we will do what we need to to keep her safe.”
“The difference is – if she is forced to go on hiatus for her safety – we are all going on hiatus.  A full blown one.  And we don’t want that, for anyone.”  Lino explained.
Surprisingly, the comments were pretty supportive.  STAY was condemning the actions of the attacker and saying we handled the situation very well.  There were even several comments inquiring if I was okay.  I was touched by their concern.
Cautiously, I hoped this show of support for me continued.  That this attack will bring them to accept me as Stray Kids’ Alpha.  That I may have proved myself in some small way.
“JYPE is investigating the incident.  We will continue the tour as scheduled as of now.”  Chan announced, though he sounded stressed.  “Though anyone attending can expect a bit more security until we are sure all of Stray Kids are and will remain safe.”
Alright, that way more than enough seriousness for one live.  He made his announcements and explained the consequences.  It’s time to bring the room back up.  Launching myself off the second bed, I flung myself across Lino and Hyun’s’ laps, quickly scrambling to sit up and face the camera.
“Let me tell you how beautiful Melbourne is!”  I gushed immediately.  “I can’t wait to take pictures and share them with you!  The architecture alone is mind blowing!  They have a yellow Victorian building!  Yellow!”
Flinders?”  Chan asked.
“Flinders – that’s it!”  I pointed at Chan.  “And Felix told me there’s street art – and oh!  The ocean!  It’s unlike any I’ve seen before!”
Chan chuckled.  “We are here for a reason, bug.  It’s not a vacation.”
I scoffed.  “To you it’s not, you’ve been here before.  I’m going to make the most of this trip!”
“I want to see the street art too!”  Hyun almost whined.
“Tough.  You will be in practice with the rest of us.”  Lino replied sternly.
Hyun mimicked him, making a face behind Linos back.  I snickered, rubbing my nose to cover it up.
Lino snapped around to glare at Hyune – who immediately smoothed his face and went silent, looking down.  “You’re getting scrambled eggs and tissues for breakfast!”  Lino declared.
Hyune whined and collapsed forward.  “Nooo!  I’m sorry!”
I reached back and patted his head with a laugh.  “Just think of it as extra fiber.”  I suggested.
“I’m sure we can manage to find some time for Y/n to sight see.”  Bin said rubbing Hyunes back.
Back to the camera I sighed.  “STAY – despite what happened, I am so excited to be here with Stray Kids and even meet some of you as well.”
The live ended pretty quickly after that.  The main goal of addressing the airport attack taken care of.  Everyone was tired from the long day.  I was ready to unpack the rest of my stuff and get something to eat.
Everyone left, back to their rooms, talking animatedly and too loudly.  After one more quick nuzzle, Seungmin disappeared into their bathroom.  I heard the water turn on a couple seconds later.
Chan was trying desperately to appear engrossed in his phone, but his need to make up with me and reestablish good contact permeated the room.  I really wanted to keep giving him the cold shoulder, I was still really upset about the whole thing.  But I was his Alpha, and he is only human.  And this early into the first times being significantly apart from each other with no reestablishing contact was a pretty harsh punishment.  And hopefully one he will remember so he doesn’t do this again in the future.  My trust, however, will take a lot longer to get back.
I sighed heavily.  “You lied to me Chan.  Treated me like a thing or a child.”
Immediately Chans phone was put down and he sat up straight, all pretenses of not being solely focused on me gone.  “I was trying to protect you.”
“I get that.  I understand and appreciate your wanting to keep me safe.  But this was something I needed to know.  I need to know anything like this so I can properly be aware and on guard.  You can’t – nor should you – shield me from everything.  I need to learn to navigate your world.”  I tried to explain.
“I know that now.  I was just worried they would bully you and scare you into doing what they want.  Staying home.  Leaving us.”
I deflated entirely.  “I’m not going to leave you.  And I won’t be bullied by some backwards thinking bigots.  Sorry to break it to you = you are stuck with me forever.”
Chan breathed out a laugh and looked at his hands twisting in his lap.  “I’m sorry.”  His voice cracked slightly with emotion.
I held my arms out in invitation, soft smile on my lips.  Chan immediately rolled forward, wrapping his arms around my waist and hiding his face in my lap.  I draped myself over his back.  “My trust will take longer to earn back, but as long as you don’t do something like this again you will eventually get it.”  My actions probably just fed his fears of abandonment, but he had to understand that what he did was not okay and couldn’t be repeated.

“Do you know how to swim?” Coryo asked, settling behind you, pressing a kiss to your neck as you rifled through the wardrobe to find something to wear for the day. Ordinarily, your lady’s maid was to help you pick out your outfits and help you into them, but you found that you liked including your husband—your husband—in the process instead.
“Yes.”
You could feel the smile on Coryo’s lips as he kissed your neck again. “Good. There’s a lake on the property that I’d like to take you to. Swim, have a picnic—” he nips at your neck “—perhaps have a little more fun.”
A giggle escaped you. “That sounds lovely. But what would you have said if I didn’t?”
“Offer to let you cling to me.”
“I’m sure you’ll do that anyways.” You moved your head, exposing more of your neck to him. “But I didn’t have any swimming clothes packed.”
Your knees nearly buckled as Coryo sucked on a sensitive spot just below your ear. “That’s where the little more fun comes in, my pretty petal.”
“My, my, I didn’t know my husband was so insatiable.”
“How could I be satiated when you’re so addicting? For every piece of you, you offer, I find myself wanting more.” Coryo pulled away then reached around you, pulling a pale pink dress out. “Put this on while I ask the staff to prepare lunch for us.”
“Hurry back,” you said, turning around so you could face him, “I might surely die if I’m deprived of my husband.”
Coryo grinned. “Now who’s insatiable?”
You giggled, watching as Coryo leaned down for a kiss before disappearing out the door. Once he was gone, you began to dress for the day. Butterflies fluttered around in your tummy as you thought about your husband. Your husband. You never would have thought that the word would have you blushing like a schoolgirl—certainly not when that very husband was Coriolanus Snow. And yet, here you were, twirling around in a pretty pink dress, giggling at the thought of seeing Coryo in a compromising position while swimming.
A grin stretched across your face as you heard the door opening, Coryo stepping inside. Though you weren’t looking at him, you could practically hear the pout on his face as he said, “Damn. I was hoping to catch you undressed.”
“Then we never would make it to the lake,” you said.
“And, oh, what a shame would that be.”
Tumblr media
You held your Coryo’s hand as you walked down the dirt path to the lake. Your dress dragged the ground, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to pick up the skirts. If only your mother could see you now—she would surely have a heart attack if she knew you were about to be positively ravished anywhere but a bedroom. Stifling a giggle, you glanced at Coryo from the corner of your eye. He was already looking down at you, a soft smile on his plush lips. You moved up to your tiptoes and pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth.
“How did you manage to convince the Peacekeepers to let us come alone?” you asked when you pulled away.
You had been surprised when Coryo led you out of the cottage, holding onto you with one hand, a picnic basket in the other. No one followed after the two of you like they normally did. When you had sent Coryo a questioning look, he kissed your temple and ushered you along.
“I told them I would sooner carve out their eyes than allow them to see me fuck their Queen.”
“Coryo!” you chastised, hand smacking his chest. “You can’t say things like that!”
“And why not?” His smile turned into a smirk as he bumped his hip against yours. “Everyone knows what happens during the honeymoon period. Is it a crime to say it aloud?”
You leaned your head against his arm. “I just don’t want anyone but you to think of me like that.”
“Oh, petal,” Coryo cooed. An arm wrapped around your shoulders, tugging you into his side. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I won’t say things like that again. Being with you robs me of any sense of propriety. All I want is for people to know that I’m the lucky man who gets to warm your bed, who makes you smile and laugh, who is fortunate enough to be called your husband.”
Laughing, you said, “You can wax poetic to whoever you want. Just leave our more intimate moments between us.”
“Deal.”
The lake soon came into view. It was beautiful. Something straight out of a fairytale. The water sparkled under the sun’s rays. And the water—oh, it was so blue. You would almost think it was artificial if it didn’t look like it had been untouched by humans for decades. As you neared the lake, Coryo dropped the picnic basket to the ground and led you out onto the dock.
A giggle escaped you as he quickly removed his clothes before reaching for you, undoing the ties on your dress. As it slipped off your shoulders, down your hips, a growl rumbled from Coryo’s chest. “You wore nothing else?”
“What? I can’t seduce my husband on our honeymoon?”
His hands came to rest on your hips, tugging you against him. You giggled again and placed your hands on his chest. “Say thank you for me not allowing the Peacekeepers to come.”
You stood on your tiptoes and gently kissed him. When you pulled away, you whispered on his lips, “Thank you, Coryo.”
“Now, for your punishment—”
“Wait, what—”
Coryo picked you up as if you were a doll, took you to the edge of the dock, and tossed you into the lake. You screamed as you hit the water. Another splash quickly followed. Coryo emerged beside you. His eyes crinkled at the corners. One arm wrapped around your waist, the other tangling itself in your hair. He pulled you in for a searing kiss, his tongue slipping into your mouth. You moaned and moved your legs to wrap around his hips. His hand on your waist fell to your hip to help support you.
“Fuck, petal—” he groaned.
“Would you?”
And, oh, he would.
Tumblr media
Coryo reached into the picnic basket, pulling out a container of strawberries. He took care with selecting one before placing it at your lips, looking down at you as you took a bite. Your back was pressed against his chest, still bare after the swim, and hummed in appreciation at the sweet taste. Tilting your head up, you watched as he finished off the strawberry. You turned slightly and leaned up to steal a kiss.
“Little minx,” he chastised. He, nevertheless, was quick to chase after you for another kiss.
“How am I the minx when you’re the one who suggested this entire little escapade?”
“Because you went along with it, little petal,” Coryo said.
You laughed and shook your head at him. Of course that would be his logic. Never mind that this was his entire grand plan, that you only went along for the ride. But, if that was going to be his argument, you supposed you should give him something to support the rhetoric. You turned around to face him, settling on your knees. You bit down on your lip as Coryo’s eyes drifted down to your bare chest. “I do believe you promised me more fun, did you not?” you asked, grabbing his hands and pulling them to your waist.
“I did.”
“And what kind of husband would you be to break such promises?”
“A horrible one,” he groaned, pulling you closer to him. You swung a leg over either side of his lap, your hips settling against his. He hardened against your thigh. “You should send me straight to the gallows if I ever dared to deny you.”
“Let’s not let it come to that.”
“Let’s not,” he agreed. He reached between the two of you, guiding his cock through your slick folds. Your head fell against his. A gasp escaped you as you sunk down on him. You had only taken him in this position a few times before—it still took you by surprise, how much bigger he felt like this. Your nails dug into his shoulder as Coryo groaned out, “Fuck, petal, keep squeezing me like that and I’ll serve you Panem on a silver platter.”
You kissed him, desperate for more of him. “You’ve already given me everything I could ever want.”
Coryo’s fingers dug into your hips as he guided you up and down his length. You were grateful for it, your legs already trembling from the mounting pleasure. Sensing your exhaustion, Coryo pulled you against his chest, cradling you as he rolled you onto your back. Your back arched off the picnic blanket. Oh, how was this so much more pleasurable now?
“Coryo—” you gasped.
A hand fell between your legs, his nimble fingers rubbing circles around the sensitive bundle of nerves. Your hand caught his wrist, holding him there as he thrust into you. The coil deep in your belly began to tighten, so close to snapping.
“Go ahead, my petal, come for your King,” he cooed. He draped his body against you, his nose nudging against yours. “Come for your husband. Come for your Coryo.”
You screamed as the coil finally snapped. Coryo pulled his hand out from between your legs, cupped your face, and pulled you into a searing kiss. His hips continued to rut into you as he chased his high. It was one of the few moments where you got to see your husband truly desperate, and all of it for you. His hips stuttered as he finally toppled over the edge, still fucking his spend into you.
“I love you,” he breathed against your lips.
“And I love you.”
You felt him smile. But then he pulled away, his brows pinched together. Coryo brushed some stray strands of hair from your face, his pale blue eyes searching yours. Looking for any doubts, any hints of insincerity. You just smiled up at him, and said those words again. “You mean it?” he asked.
“More than anything.”
A smile broke out, his white teeth twinkling. “Say it again.”
You only laughed. “Give me a reason to,” you challenged.
He did. He gave you many, many reasons. And when the two of you eventually made it back to the cottage, a right mess compared to the regal King and Queen you would have to act like in front of the Capitol, you showed him just how much you loved him in return.

“Can one of you explain what the hell just happened?” You say, looking at Steve and Sam.
Steve and Sam looked at each other before looking back at you. Steve desperately wanted to tell you, but it’s not his place to say. You kept looking at them, waiting for one of them to say something. Your attention was quickly turned to Bucky when he groaned as he started to wake up.
“Bucky, baby.” You immediately went over to him and hugged him.
“Doll…” Bucky wrapped his right arm around your wand held you against him. “Steve…” He looks up at Steve.
“Which Bucky am I talking to?” Steve asks.
“Your mom’s name is Sarah and you used to wear newspaper in your shoes.” Bucky says.
“Can’t read that in a museum.” Steve says.
“Like that, we’re supposed to be cool?” Sam says.
“What did I do?” Bucky asks, looking at Sam.
“You didn’t do anything, baby.” You say, caressing his stubbly cheek.
There was a moment of awkward silence before Steve spoke up.
“Buck, does she know?” Steve asks him.
“Know what?” You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. “What’s he talking about, babe?” You asked, looking at Bucky.
Bucky looked down, feeling ashamed that he never told you the truth about who he really is.
“You never told your girl?” Sam says.
“Sam…” Steve warns. “We’ll give you two some time alone.” He says, walking away with Sam following behind him.
You and Bucky were left in silence. Bucky couldn’t look you in the eye. He was nervous to tell you the truth and he hoped that he didn’t have to tell you, but here you guys are. Bucky kept this from you for a reason and that’s to protect you and cause he loves you so much.
“Bucky, what were your friends talking about?” You asked.
Bucky was quiet for a moment longer before he looked at you.
“Please don’t make me lie to you.” He says, his voice cracking.
“Whatever it is, you can tell me.” You say.
Bucky took a deep breath before saying anything.
“I’m the Winter Soldier.” He flat out said.
“Who or what is the Winter Soldier?” You asked, furrowing your eyebrows in confusion.
“Me.” He repeats. “These people called HYDRA found me the Alps in the 40s, gave me a metal arm, and trained me to become an assassin for them.” He explains.
You took a step back, trying to process what Bucky just said.
“Babydoll, say something.” He says, his eyes tearing up.
“All this time, I thought you were someone who showed up on my doorstep injured for almost a year ago when you possibly could’ve killed me.” You say.
“No!” He quickly said. “I would never hurt you. I would never forget myself if I did hurt you. You have to believe me.” He says.
You faced away from him and walked away from him. Bucky managed to get his metal arm free and follow you. He gently grabbed your arm, stopping you in your tracks.
“Don’t fucking touch me!” You shout, yanking your arm out of his grip.
Bucky took a step back, not wanting to make you more mad than you already are.
“You really think I would hurt you?” Bucky asks.
“I don’t know what to think anymore, Bucky.” Your eyes teared up. “We’ve been dating for almost a year and you’re just now telling me the truth about who you really are.” You say.
Tears rolled down your cheeks. You didn’t want to cry and look weak in front of Bucky, but you couldn’t help it. It’s like a dam broke loose. He wrapped his arms around you, holding you close to him as you cried in his arms, your tears soaking his henley.
“I love you more than anything, doll. Please know that.” Bucky says in a whisper.
“I know.” You sniffled, looking up at him. “I love you too.” You say, looking in his beautiful blue eyes.
Bucky’s right hand caressed your cheek, his thumb softly rubbing against your skin. He leaned down and kissed you passionately. Your lips moved in sync with his.
“Please don’t leave me. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” He says, pulling away from your lips.
“I’m not.” You whispered. “I love you too much to leave you.” You kissed his lips. “Don’t ever keep the truth from me again.” You say.
“I won’t. I promise.” He says against your lips.
Steve and Sam walked in the room at the wrong time.
“Sorry to break up your moment, but if we’re going to do this, we need a plan.” Steve says.
“I know a guy.” Sam says, looking at Steve.
“Count me in.” You say.
From then on out, Bucky told you the truth about everything. No matter how bad his past was, he still told you. He loves you too much to lose you.

Level Up For 2024!
Tumblr media
“Be confident trust yourself and never let anyone put you down, if they put you down it’s because they’re jealous.” - Adriana Lima
Tumblr media
Set goals for yourself! It could be daily, weekly, monthly, yearly goals. I recommend you set goals for your career, health, knowledge, mindset, or just what you want. There is only one rule with setting goals though. Whatever you decide, make it happen.
2. Stop lying to yourself! “Oh, I’ll do it tomorrow.” I don’t remember you doing it that day though. So, why did you lie? You need to be able to trust and take care of yourself. Lying to yourself is not helping with either of those. Of course if your schedule got busy and you couldn’t do it, thats fine. On the other hand, when you say or promise yourself you’ll do it and then don’t. That’s disrespectful to yourself.
3. Prioritizing your peace! Take time out of your day to meditate, read, dance to your favorite songs, go on solo dates. Not only is this prioritizing your peace and you but also your happiness. Once I started to prioritize my peace I found true happiness. This is why I stand by prioritizing your peace a lot. It’s something you won’t regret. So, take time for yourself EVERYDAY!
4. Romanticize your life! Try to live in the moment as much as possible. Even, do your favorite things. Romanticizing your life doesn’t mean you have to have money and buy a bunch of things. It simply means to find joy, love, peace in your surroundings. Life is so beautiful when you realize the blessings you have. For example leafs falling in fall, dancing to childhood songs, breathing in cold winter air, picking out a cute outfit, the first snow fall, etc.
5. 2024 is the year for more! Reach for bigger achievements, more money, working out more, doing more self care, more self love, more knowledge, the list goes on. Let’s make 2024 a great year and start by getting in the habit of those things already!
“I sent myself love letters…” - Cher Horowitz
Tumblr media
For those who want to know more about romanization then I recommend you check out Vivian Rose and Fernanda Ramirez podcast’s takes on it!

what started out as sensual morning sex quickly evolved into a whole play scene. i couldn’t be too surprised, harry and i both had no plans for this rainy sunday. sometimes we like to plan out our scenes, but most of the time, like today, they come naturally.
this morning, i had just started waking up when i felt harry’s arm that was draped over my mid section pull me closer to his chest. “morning love” he whispered into the back of my neck. i gave him a short “mm” in response, barely awake yet. it wasn’t until his hand started to roam up my stomach and to my chest did i really start to gain consciousness. harry moves his hand slowly and sensually over my right boob, applying enough pressure to make my sensitive nipples rock hard. i can feel myself getting wet just from this; we are both so fucking sensitive in the mornings. i rock my hips back to grind against harry’s morning wood that i know is aching by now.
“yeah, baby? you want to?” he asks in his sexy as fuck scratchy voice.
“yes please, H.” i know he gets off on me acting desperate for his dick. it’s not entirely acting, but i like to ham it up for his ego and pleasure. after my consent, he reaches down to guide my flimsy sleep shorts down my legs. i lift my leg up and back to rest over his legs behind me to allow him easier access to my aching cunt. we really went at it last night, him taking me deep and rough with a cock ring on, making him last over an hour. i was almost entirely spent after four orgasms, plus one more in the shower around 2am when he insisted we go clean off, but i knew it was going to lead to a final round of slow, soft sex against the shower wall as a form of aftercare. needless to say, my entire vulva area is sore and likely bruised. i don’t mind a bit though, having a massive pain kink that harry loves to explore with me. he knows i prefer him to go straight into fucking me if i’m wet, knowing the burn and stretch of no prep gets me to orgasm fastest.
with my leg propped up, he takes his heavy cock in his hand and slides his tip up and down my slit making us both hiss in sensitivity. once his tip parts my folds and just barely enters, his hand leaves his dick to come around my neck. he pulls my top half flush against his chest by my neck, just slightly choking me. i turn my head to make eye contact, knowing it’s something he loves. while i love being entered without prep to feel the sting, he loves to see the effect it has on me.
“please baby, i need you.” i whisper into his lips before he presses forward slowly, beginning to fill me, inch by painful inch. my eyes start to roll backwards and roll with pleasure when i feel him tighten his hold on my neck.
“don’t close your fucking eyes, love. need to see what i do to you” he grunts. when we have sensual morning sex like this, he’s much quieter than usual and instead has a furrowed brow and mouth slightly parted while watching my own face twist in pleasure. he observes my body closely in order to give me the most pleasure, in turn helping him get off in knowing how safe and good he makes me feel.
once he bottoms out, he loosens his grip on my neck and slowly begins to pull out. he keeps a slow, torturous pace that makes my head feel completely fuzzy. he increases his speed and force slightly, letting us hear our skin meeting at the end of each thrust.
i let out a long, low moan while staring into my baby’s eyes. his brows furrow at this, squeezing my neck again and beginning to up his face. “h?” i breathe out.
he removes his hand completely from my neck and pushes the hair out of my face, “yes my love? what can i give you?”
“can you take me from behind?”
“fuck baby, of course. i won’t pull out but let me adjust us.” he rolls on top me as i also roll to bury my face in our fluffy white pillows. he grabs me the crease of both hips to lift them in the air, then slowly begins his pace again.
“how does this feel, baby? good for you?” he asks, running his hands over my skin in a comforting manner.
all i can do is groan into the pillows. it must be our activities from last night catching up with me, because while morning sex with harry is always one of my favorites, i rarely get to a state of pleasure like this. he’s not even stimulating my clit right now and is just giving me medium paced deep rolls of his hips, but that along with this loving touch all over my body has lit me on fire. i feel almost as if i’m floating, only tied to my physical body from the pleasure. harry has obviously picked up that i am really in for an intense orgasm from my reactions right now, so he ups his speed slightly and wraps his hand around my front to dust his fingers over my patch of hair, then a bit further down to where we are connected, then back up slightly to my throbbing clit. he begins rubbing fast circles suddenly, shocking me.
“ohhh fuck…oh fuck im going to cum baby. you’re gonna make me fucking come” my eyes are pinched shut, both hands fisting the sheets in preparation for a long, intense orgasm. what i didn’t expect though, was the pressure the suddenly forced me to bear down, literally pushing harry’s cock out of me. i scream as i orgasm, squirting all over the sheets below me.
“oh fuck honey.. you felt real good, hm?” his assault on my clit hasn’t stopped, only slowed as my entire body trembles. i don’t know how much time passes before i feel like i’m back in my body again. i open my eyes to see harry leaning over me, checking my facial expressions for any signs of discomfort. “hi little love. you maxed out? you haven’t squirted in a few weeks, didn’t see that coming”
“yeah neither did i or i would have warned you. wait baby, did you finish? i was kind of out of it.”
“i haven’t baby, but seeing you that blissed out almost did me in. if you’re up for it though can i make a request?”
my body has fully relaxed now, my focus on getting my love to have a just as powerful orgasm as i did. “sure baby. how do you want to finish?” harry is slowly stroking his swollen length and i can tell it won’t be long until he finishes too. i want him to feel as good as i did, and i’m ready to do whatever he asks of me.
“when i had you in doggy i can’t help but fantasize about finishing in your ass. claim all of you as mine, see me dripping out of your stretched bum. are you up for that?” harry and i have had a lot of anal sex, it’s something we both love. we’ve never gone raw though, just for the ease of clean up. but his words right now have me tingling all over again.
“i’d really like that, h. please make me yours. im at your mercy.” this makes him groan as he nods and climbs to straddle my legs that are outstretched while i’m still on my stomach. like vaginal sex, i love the stretch of no prep. it usually hurts a good bit, but i seriously can’t get enough. harry really didn’t like this at first, too scared of actually hurting me in a way i didn’t enjoy, but once i convinced him to try it and see how hard i cum afterwards, he’s been on board since. especially after the intense orgasm i’ve just had plus the fact that i feel completely safe and comfortable with my love, its easy for me to relax my muscles.
he pumps his cock a few more times, then slides it between my closed thighs along my slit to collect my arousal as lube. his tip rubs along my hole for a few moments before he begins to push in.
“jesus christ you’re fucking tight. i’m going to take you slow and deep baby, but say something if it gets to be too much” he says softly, leaning down and pressing a kiss to my shoulder blade.
i moan a “mhm” into the pillow that i’m gripping with both hands and also have my blissed out face shoved into. i feel him straighten again before slowly sliding his length all the way in. the pain is honestly searing, but the pain mixed with the knowledge of how much pleasure harry is getting out of this makes it way easier to handle.
he keeps up his slow but steady pace with his hands tightly gripping my hips. i turn my head to look back at harry, and find him with his head faced towards the ceiling, eyes screwed shut. you can tell he’s holding back and his looming orgasm is getting the best of him.
“harry, use me.” his eyes snap open to look down when he heard my words. any lingering slow morning sensuality has dissipated and replaced with the need to please my lover.
the corner of his lip forms a small smirk as he mutters, “yeah? you sure?”
“want you to use me.” the need to make him feel good is causing most of my brain to dig over. as harry picks up the face and force of his hips, the pain i felt when he entered me has faded into searing pleasure. i open my eyes to see harry’s head dropped between his shoulders, hair hanging down as he heavily pants and mutters praises. i can tell he’s going to finish soon, and at the rate he’s beginning to pound into me, i know i likely won’t be far behind him.
i arch my back sharply to allow me to snake my right hand down to play with my swollen clit. the change in position has harry groaning and his hips lose their rhythm. as my mind tries to process the stimulation to my clit, harry draws back and thrusts so hard and deep we both shout in ecstasy. i water board my fingers back and forth over my clit, my entire body shaking as i squirt for the second time tonight. at the sight of this, harry pulls out but grabs my ass cheeks to keep them pulled open. we’re both groaning for different reasons- me because i’ve just squirted twice in less than an hour which is a new occurrence, him because he’s watching his cum drip out of my ass onto the squirt soaked sheets.
“jesus fucking christ.” i’m still incoherent and barely able to hear harry speak over the ringing in my ears when i feel him remove his large hands from holding me open to a harsh spank on my right cheek. my eyes roll back and i scream out at the shock, “baby! no more please”.
harry groans, presumably at the large red hand print im sure is plastered over my sensitive skin. he leans his face down to be eye level with me before saying, “i’m going to run us a little bath. day hasn’t even started yet and you’re a mess for me.” i feel my cheeks grow red and i nod in response. as i watch him fix his hair off his forehead in a little clip, i wonder how the hell i’m going to make it to the bathtub without making any more of a mess.

The heels of my boots smacked against the hardwood floor as I hurried around the room, trying to finish my work. The setting sun had blasted its rays through the window, an indication that I had about a half hour left before the work day had ended and I was able to go home.
Even though I would have rather stayed longer, with him.
Part of me thought of going to ask him if he needed me to stay later tonight but that would require me going into his office and talking to him; something I had only done one or twice in the few months of me working here.
Any time he needed something, he would either write a note and leave it on my desk or send me an email. We barely spoke to each other and if we did it was a quick good morning as he was walking in and a goodnight as I was walking out.
He was always right behind me in the morning, both of us usually arriving at the same time but he would always stay much later in the evenings, long after I had gone home.
Being New York’s top mob boss was a full time gig and it kept him busy. Which is why he hired me. When I first applied for the job, I thought I would be the assistant to a C.E.O or something. Needless to say, I had been shocked on my first day when I walked in and noticed who I was actually working for.
His name was the hush gossip around town, his mob gang running the neighborhood I had lived in my whole life. It has been passed down from generation to generation. When he found out that I had lived here and remembered his grandpa running the gang before his father did, I had been hired on the spot.
When I told the people in my life of my new job, they were worried for my safety. They reminded me that I could have gotten a job anywhere in New York, why did I agree to this one?
The pay was perfect, exactly what I needed to get by and then some, but the main reason why I accepted this job was because of him. It would have been a lie if I said I didn’t find him attractive. I had to keep reminding myself, though, that it was just a crush. Nothing more.
Of course, I couldn’t help but worry on how I would be assisting him. But it ended up being the typical mundane tasks any assistant would have. Running errands for him, helping sort his meetings, taking some calls, deterring anyone he didn’t want to see or didn’t have a meeting away. There was only one person who was allowed to walk into his office freely.
Her.
With a soft sigh, I packed up all of my belongings, the clock on the wall striking six in the evening, and the thought of sitting on my couch in my lazy clothes watching trashy television brought a smile to my face.
The door behind my desk clicked open and I felt the warmth radiate from him as he walked out, a charming smile across his soft features.
“Leaving for the night?”
My eyes glanced at him and felt my heart begin to pound in my chest, the vibrations echoing up to my throat.
I nodded. “Unless you need something else from me?”
He shook his head, a smile still plastered over his face. It was almost as if he knew how much his smile made me weak in the knees. The hairs that had been slicked back when he arrived this morning were now a mess on top of his head, no doubt from him running his hand through it. With the light from the lamp on my desk, I could see the few gray hairs that peaked underneath the browns of his beard.
He looked breathtaking.
My eyes darted to his left arm, the black and gold vibranium catching the said before light and I had to force myself to look away, so I didn’t get caught staring.
Except I knew I had because he hid his hand into his jacket pocket.
“No, you go home. Enjoy the rest of the night. I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Have a good night Mr. Barnes,” I smiled with a red face at being caught.
“I already told you, Y/N. You can call me Bucky,” he insisted.
I smiled at my boss, James Buchanan Barnes, and while tossing my bag over my shoulder bid him a goodnight with a nod. I could feel his burning gaze on my backside as I walked away.
Tumblr media
I hummed a low tune while I typed away at the computer in front of me, the list of emails waiting to be sent. Bucky had made sure that this task was my number one priority today because the monthly meeting with the other two mob gangs that ran the other neighborhood around us was coming up. He wanted to make sure that those leaders knew what was going to be discussed before they would arrive that day.
It had been held here at Bucky’s office for the last handful of years because of his reputation and position in the mob. He was well respected among the other gangs, their own leaders looking up to him. The reason for these meetings were to discuss business, of course, but also to make sure that everyone remembered who was in charge.
A large presence was felt behind me but I didn’t have to look to see who it was. A smile pulled at the corner of my lips but kept my attention on the email I had been typing.
“Need something?” I asked over my shoulder.
The blonde smirked. “I’m just wondering when you’re doing the next coffee run.”
I spun around in my chair, eyes glancing up towards the man. His beard had been a bit fuller since I saw him last week and his long hair was slicked back, his blue eyes shining bright.
“Last time I checked Rogers. I’m not your coffee runner,” I joked while standing to my feet and gave his chest a pat.
The firmness of it did not go unnoticed by me.
Steve chuckled. “It’s Buck. He’s ready for his afternoon coffee with lunch.”
I nodded. “Is he busy or can I pop in to get his order?”
He held up a piece of paper in his hand. “I already got it. Bucky wants me to go with you.”
“Sam usually comes with me,” I raised a brow. “
Steve shrugged with his hands in his pockets. “Figured you could use a change of company.”
I nodded, eagerly to spend some time with him. Steve was not only one of Bucky’s bodyguards but was also his childhood best friend. The two of them grew up together and while I didn’t speak much to Bucky, Steve and I found ourselves talking almost every free chance we could. There had been a few times our conversations had taken a flirtatious route, neither of us correcting it or changing it. What started off as fun was slowly becoming serious which confused the hell out of me.
Admittedly, he was very attractive as well but there was only one man that currently kept my wandering eyes, even if that’s all that it would come too. I wouldn’t allow it to become anything else because of her.
“Bucky does know that I don’t need someone to come with me almost every time I run errands for him, right?” I spoke.
Steve nodded. “He does but it’s company policy.”
I playfully scoffed. “Is that what you think of me, Steve? Company policy?”
There was a flash of something in his eyes and his tongue quickly darted over his lips.
“You really want to know what I think?” Steve’s voice became heavy as he took a step closer.
I met him halfway, chin raised up to him. “Yeah, I really do.”
We stared at each other, gazes burning, and I couldn’t ignore the way my stomach flipped when Steve’s bottom lip got stuck between his teeth and I knew he heard me suck in a breath when he began leaning closer.
Someone clearing their throat caused me to move away from Steve and when I saw who had caught us, my heart sunk.
Bucky stared at the two of us, lips parted in confusion. “Am I interrupting something?”
Steve sighed while shaking his head. “Always had perfect timing, Buck.”
A red blush of embarrassment covered my body and I kept my gaze at my feet while the two friends bickered back and forth. I waited for them to finish so I could make the afternoon coffee run, hoping that the rest of the day went by fast.
“James, you’re not going to believe who I ran into at the shops this morning.”
My head snapped up at the petite voice, eyes watching with jealousy as the woman placed a quick kiss on Bucky’s cheek.
“Hi, sweetheart.” Bucky mused.
Steve nodded with a smile. “Hey Natasha.”
The red head smiled back at Steve. “James keeping you busy?”
“He’s actually letting me leave with Y/N to grab the lunch order,” Steve joked while looking at me.
Natasha's gaze followed and even if her smile said one thing, the look in her eyes said something completely different: annoyance.
“How are you, Y/N?,” she asked.
I gave her my own fake smile. “Good.”
It wasn’t news to anyone that Natasha wasn’t happy about Bucky hiring me, she wanting to be the only girl in the office but as Bucky told her many times, it was his choice and his alone.
“Well, I have to fill you in on my morning,” Natasha returned her attention back to Bucky.
My broken gaze watched as she cupped his cheek to lay a kiss upon his lips, the diamond on her left-hand glimmering in the sunlight.
Steve noticed the way I longed to be in her position, so he gently nudged me. “Ready to go?”
My eyes locked with Bucky’s for a second, a small glimmer mixed with the blue pool of his iris', before I had to force myself to look away once again, now staring at Steve.
“Yep.”
Steve wrapped an arm around my shoulder and nodded a fast goodbye to Natasha and Bucky before leading me away from them.
With our backs to them, I hadn’t seen the look Bucky burned into Steve, who still had his arm nestled on top of my shoulder.

✨Pairing✨: trucker!Ari Levinsonxblack!reader
Summary🪄: It’s always a time when uncle Ari comes around
⚠️: uncle!Ari (just as damaging as dad!Ari and regular Ari lol) mention of nightmares, pretty much all fluff💕
A/N🎤: Hey guys! Another Halloween themed fic but this time with a softer Ari😌. This will serve as atonement to myself (and others who might be affected) for daring to make my fave dark in my last post lol. Hope you guys like it!!
*DISCLAIMER!: although visual made by me via Canva, I DO NOT CLAIM OWNERSHIP of pics used as they were all found on Pinterest*
As expected, four year old Grace had been attached to Ari since the moment you both arrived to babysit for the night. You wouldn’t say you were upset seeing that he was her uncle and that they’ve talked nearly every day since she could babble, but there was still a little sting every time you were greeted with a quiet “hi” or short wave before she was gone and you long forgotten.
Like now as they dug through their shared pumpkin emptying it’s stringy contents while you were in charge of decorating the sugar cookies waiting on the cooling rack.
“S’cold!,” she squealed dumping out her handful of pumpkin guts.
“Be careful of the seeds, you swallow one and a huge pumpkin’s gonna grow in your belly,” Ari warned to which little Grace quickly shook her head.
“Nuh-uh!”
“Uh-huh!”
“No uncle Ari, we can eat. See?” Before either of you can say anything, she’s quick to set one on her tongue happily chewing until she can swallow it down rubbing her belly. “I’m fine.”
“I guess you showed me huh,” he chuckles tapping her nose and leaving some juice from his finger on her skin successfully turning it light orange. Grace is quick to retaliate though rubbing her hands on his cheeks to leave behind tiny pieces of string as she giggles - and you do too from the other side of the kitchen.
Honestly you couldn’t blame her for picking Ari over you as her favorite. You’d choose him too if you had to pick between the two of you.
“Alright, it’s pretty much cleaned out now. You want scary or funny?,” he asks watching as she adorably tapped her tiny finger to her temple in thought.
“Hmm…funny!”
“Got it,” he nods. “Why don’t you get cleaned up and help your aunt with cookies?”
“I got everything we could ever want Grace,” you smile reaching in your grocery bag full of decorating goodies. “There’s sprinkles - three different shapes I might add - glitter, edible stickers, and stencils to help us draw shapes!”
The way she gazed at the sprinkles with her mouth in a little “o”, you think you’ve got her. Finally able to bond with her over a shared love of cookies like you were in one of those Hallmark movies. Like a little happy family.
“Um..wanna stay with uncle Ari.”
Well, so much for that.
“Oh okay,” you answer successfully hiding your hurt behind your nonchalance. Ari still notices though giving you a sympathetic smile and mouthing, “sorry.”
You appreciated him trying, but maybe you were just meant to be the fun uncle’s wife that barely got a hello. And who tends to go overboard with cookie decorating supplies.
“Alright ladies are we ready?,” Ari asks sitting on the navy blue sectional between you and a bouncy Grace nodding yes. During your spaghetti dinner - made by Ari since apparently his was the best although he used your recipe - he suggested that you all watch a movie afterwards.
Specifically, Gremlins.
His thought process being what better way for everyone - more so you and Grace - to spend time together than to watch a movie? Especially a spooky one seeing that it was the night before Halloween. You, on the other hand, had a few concerns on his niece potentially being scared of the little troublesome creatures.
“She’ll be fine. It’s not that scary,” he assured kissing your cheek.
Freshly bathed and in her appropriately themed pumpkin pajamas, Grace couldn’t wait holding on tight to her Mickey Mouse blanket as she watched her uncle press play.
“Share with me!,” she smiles just as Ari spreads the bigger, cream blanket over both yours and his lap.
“I’m not gonna fit though bug.”
“Uh huh! Watch,” she states crawling into his lap and neatly spreading the grey blanket over her legs and his thighs. You - again - casted off to the side with your blanket as she tilts her head back to look up at him. “We fit!”
“Y-Yea, looks like we do.” He gives you another sympathetic smile draping his arm around your shoulders while you bundle deeper under the blanket.
“I’d rather be by myself anyway. Little does she know her uncle is a blanket hog,” you think trying to make yourself feel better.
Ari appeared to be right on Grace not being scared. She even fell asleep towards the end with her upper half on the cushion next to them and lower half still on his lap; mouth wide open pointed towards the ceiling. Ari was the one to tuck her in bed, while you cleaned up the blankets and plates of cookie crumbs left in the living room.
You were the last to enter the shared guest room to finally get ready for bed yourself. Your love struck husband taking turns gazing at you and the last period of some hockey game as you strode back and forth from the bathroom to the bedroom. A small, dopey smile on his lips watching you wash your face and apply all your products.
“Share with me?,” he pouts with those puppy eyes making you giggle while sliding into the full sized bed.
“I don’t know,” you sigh, “I feel like Grace is gonna somehow come in saying how she wants you to sleep in her room instead because that’s where you’re supposed to be.”
Yes probably a little petty, but you couldn’t hold it in anymore.
His tattooed arms bring you closer into his body pecking the top of your head as you settle between his pecs. A low “aw” vibrating in his chest while his hands rub along your back.
“I know I probably sound jealous, but I’m not. I love how you have a great relationship with your niece! But it’s like she hates me and I have no idea what I did.”
He knew that had always been a bit of a fear for you. Kids hating you for whatever reason, thus meaning you shouldn’t have them although you did desire to be a mother one day. It’s why you were nervous meeting Grace all those years ago, afraid that the smallest mess up would ruin everything.
It didn’t help that the minute Ari passed her to you, she began whining and squirming. Your coos of comfort and gentle rocks didn’t seem to help, only making her more agitated not getting what she wanted. She didn’t stop until she was back in Ari’s strong arms and you kept your distance the rest of the visit cautious of a repeat interaction.
If only he could get you to ignore that fear and really see how everyone you met - adults and children alike - had no issues with you. Some even left enchanted by the charisma you thought you lacked.
“I promise, she doesn’t hate you gorgeous.”
“She said so?,” you quietly ask lifting your head with a hint of hope.
“Well…no. But she didn’t say the opposite either.” He tried to soothe your qualms, but it’s not helping the way he hoped watching your head fall back to his chest with a light huff. “Trust me sweetheart. I guess she’s just attached to me because-,”
“You’re amazing and clearly the favorite,” you mumble making him chuckle.
“I was gonna say because I talk to her more, but I’ll take the compliment.”
It’s not long after that you’re both falling asleep lulled by the shared warmth from holding each other. Ari’s soft snores vibrating the side of your face still lying on his chest.
You think you’re dreaming when a mix of a whine and cry hits your ears disrupting your rest and making you groggily sit up. Hearing feet shuffling outside your door though confirms those sounds are in fact real, giving you more motivation to investigate.
Your husband’s too far gone in his own dreamland to be affected by your moving; still lightly snoring with an arm over his forehead and the other out by his side.
Quietly opening the door, you wrap your arms around yourself in your thin pajama set feeling the chill of the night air seeping into your sister in law’s house before carefully padding out to the living room. There, you notice something on the couch moving under the blanket you folded earlier causing you to freeze in place. It was then you realized you probably should’ve woken Ari up so he could be the one playing detective or at least grabbed something you could use to defend yourself.
“H-Hello?,” you call out to the dim space only lit by a couple plug in nightlights in the walls.
“Hi,” Grace’s soft voice responds with a short sniffle.
You also realize how you’re sleepy brain might not be fully thinking straight unable to conclude earlier how it could just be your own niece sitting there on the couch.
Stepping closer, you sit on the cushion next to hers peeling back the cotton throw until you see her splotchy face and red eyes. Water attached to her curled lashes and some still threatening to spill over. “What’s wrong?”
“Bad dream…gwemlins,” she answers using the blanket to wipe her eyes. You immediately hug her close as you coo and assure her everything’s okay.
And surprisingly, she hugs you back.
Her tiny arms wrap tight around you - well, as far as they could with her adorably short reach - almost refusing to let you go.
“Yea, when they get angry they can be scary huh?”
She nods. “And have very very sharp teeth.”
“They do, but luckily they’re not real so there’s nothing-,”
A crash from the back room startles both of you making Grace scream, with the six year old nearly choking you now having her arms around your neck.
“It’s them!,” she cries hiding her face in your shoulder just as Ari limps into the living room holding his knee and appearing half asleep.
“Damn dresser,” he grumbles wiping his eyes that quickly fill with concern seeing both of you on the couch and his niece upset. “What’s wrong?”
“Grace had a nightmare about Gremlins,” you answer pointedly glaring at him as if saying, “I told you so!”
The slight wince on his face isn’t just from an uncomfortable knee as he walks forward to perch on the coffee table. “I’m sorry bug. I didn’t mean to show that to you to scare you.”
“Not nice uncle Ari,” she mumbles still attached to you.
“Forgive me?,” he pouts holding his arms out for a hug. “Peas?”
Wiping her eyes one last time, a small smile begins to spread on her lips as she moves from you to Ari. A fit of giggles rapidly escaping her mouth as his larger body practically swallows hers in a bear hug and he attacks her cheeks with kisses. A dramatic “mwah” sounding every time he made contact causing you to giggle as well.
And fantasize the undoubtedly joyful future you’d both have with your own children.
“Don’t do it again!,” she chastises when he stops. Wagging her finger inches from his nose making him chuckle. She was definitely her mother’s child.
“I promise I won’t.”
“Alright guys,” you sigh, “Since it’s gonna be a bit difficult to go back to sleep, I say we watch something happy.”
“Not Gwemlins!”
“No definitely not,” you chuckle. “I was thinking..Aladdin.”
“Yay! I love Aladdin!,” she claps in Ari’s arms as he picks her up so they both can sit on the couch. To both of your surprise, Grace crawls from her uncle’s lap and squeezes between you and Ari. “You like too?”
“Mhm, I even went as Princess Jasmine for Halloween when I was little.” You have to admit, seeing that gleam of admiration in her eyes as she gazed up at you made you silently thank Ari for showing her that movie. It was the reason behind this bonding moment that you didn’t think would happen.
As the movie played, you and Grace talked about the scenes and of course sung along to your heart’s content not caring if you were off key. All the while Ari watched you both with a soft smile on his pink lips loving how fast of friends you’d become.
And when you both fell asleep - you leaning on his shoulder and her across your lap - he couldn’t help but sneakily take a picture with his phone. Sending it to you with a message saying “looks like you’re amazing and a clear favorite too😉”.

Day 1: Family Reunion #spnadvent2024
Dean sat out on the deck, staring at the snowfall as the beer warmed up in his hand. Sam had decorated back here with twinkling lights across the whole place, a little winking Santa statue in the corner, and some other small Christmas decorations scattered around. He liked how the rocking chairs had big huge ribbons on the back, he was sure he saw that somewhere on Pinterest and knew that was all Jessica.
Dean was lost in thought, just one that bounced around his head like an echo chamber when he heard the click of the sliding door open and close. Muffling the Christmas music all over again but he didn’t look to see who it was. He didn’t need to.
The chair next to him was quickly occupied and started to rock back and forth. Dean noticed the holiday socks peeking out from under the black dress pants and he couldn’t help but smile at those.
“Are you going to ignore me all night?”
Dean shook his head, eyes traveling back to the falling snow above him. “Not all night.”
He heard a low chuckle. “Not all night.” They repeated with a sigh before relaxing back in their chair like Dean was.
They both stared up at the night sky silently for a bit. Letting the cold creep up on them for a little longer while Dean tries to silence the echo in his head.
Cas. Cas. Cas. Cas. Cas. Cas. Cas.
“Cas.” He let the name slip through his lips in a low whisper but it was still heard.
He expected a sarcastic response but all he got was, “I’m here, Dean.”
He turned to meet those sad blue eyes. “You sure are. Why?”
This was supposed to be a family reunion for him. He hasn’t seen Sammy since they were teenagers. Dean moved across the country for college, occasionally visiting for holidays, but then Sam went to study abroad and they lost touch until recently. Now they call every day and Sam’s back in Kansas, starting his life with his fiance, and ever since Dad died they became close. More open.
Such as letting Sam know about his sexuality and his ex-boyfriend.
“Sam invited me.” Cas said casually. “Said you wanted to see me.”
He wasn’t wrong but still, “Why?” Dean repeated. He leaned forward on his chair, elbows on his knees as he scrapped the paper off the bottle. “I hurt you so much, Cas.”
Dean almost gasped as he felt a hand on his shoulder. “I knew it wasn’t you who said those words that night, Dean. I knew that you loved me and I love you so when Sam reached out to me I just…I had to come see you.”
Dean placed a hand on top of Cas’s own. “That night it was–I was so lost and my Dad just…I was a mess,” Dean looked at him again. “I’m sorry, Cas. Hurting you will always be my biggest regret in life.”
Cas smiled softly at him. Letting their hands fit together as they fell on Dean’s lap. “I found out later why you did it.”
Dean's face froze as he squeezed Cas’s warm gloved hand. “You do?”
“After your Dad died, I wanted to check up on you but knew that wasn’t what you needed right now. So I came by weeks after you left to check up on your Mom, we had lunch and talked all day. When I brought her back home she told me what happened with you and your Dad that night we broke up. You saw no other way…you protected me.”
Dean shook his head, gently letting the beer on the floor as he wiped his face. “You know that man never made empty threats and when he threatened you I just…I just lost it.” Dean brought Cas’s hand to his lips. “I lost you and myself that night. So I left again.”
“No goodbye.”
“Didn’t think you wanted to see me after that.”
“You’re probably right.” Cas chuckled. “Would have turned on the sprinklers on you.”
They both laughed before Dean stood up, leading Cas to the end of the deck where they could see the snow not stick to the ground. They faced each other, smiles warm and eyes still sad.
Dean swallowed the lump in his throat as he slowly talked. “Cas, you deserve so much better than I could ever give you and now you’re this big important person but there hasn’t been a day that I didn’t love you. Even looking at you now,” Dean reached to hold Cas’s face gently in his hand while he still didn’t dare let go of his hand with the other. “I feel like that 18 year old that followed his best friend to college and fell in love with him.”
Cas smiled, turning his head just enough to kiss Dean’s hand. “Just spit it out already. We’re turning blue.”
Dean wrapped his arms around Cas, pulling him in from around the waist and holding him close. Their lips are just mere inches away. “If it’s warming up you need, I got you.”
“Use your words first and then we’ll see.”
Dean could feel himself warming up as his heart hammered in his ears. “Cas?”
“Yes, Dean?”
“I love you. I love you and I’m so sorry for everything. I missed you so damn much, Cas. I love you. I lo–”
Cold lips pressed against his own. Warming him up so quickly it felt like he was on fire. But it was a burn he’ll gladly feel again.
This time Dean wasn’t listening for the click of the door opening but he sure heard the Christmas music get louder and saw the flash of a camera go off.
“And here we have what we like to call a Christmas miracle.” He heard Sam say as Cas pulled away from the kiss. They heard cheers from the family and another flash blinded them.
“Oops.” He heard his Mom say. “Just needed another one for the family newsletter. I told your Aunt that I could get you two together again!”
“Okay! Okay, show over now!” Dean sent everyone back inside, before taking Cas’s hand. “You okay to come in?”
“Yeah,” Cas’s eyes sparkled this time. The sadness was gone. “Let’s get some hot chocolate.”

You hunkered in on yourself, folding your arms around your torso and pursing your chapped lips. The humid, dusk breeze hurtling through the street tugged at the hem of your dress, the cardigan draped over your shoulders doing little to fend off the early autumn chill. You’d texted her while wrapping up business at the bistro a block over and had walked over to the coffeeshop to clear your head after the entire ordeal and to check in before heading home.
“Horribly,” you said flatly. “I took one of my few vacation days and was subjected to an hour-long lecture on the growing value of cryptocurrencies before being asked if I intended to give up my career once I found a spouse—like I’m just spending the money on uni for funsies.”
“...Oh.” Your coworker’s face creased with equal measure of shame and sympathy. “My flatmate told me he was a decent bloke, save for a couple of rocky breakups the last year or so—I had no idea he was a wanker to boot…and probably at fault for those situations to start with, since that’s the case—but I should have given it more thought before roping you into it. That explains a lot about what little I heard about him. I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright,” you sighed and leaned against the humming lamppost at your back, “you had no way of knowing how he’d be in person, and you were trying to help me step out of my comfort zone a bit. It was kind of nice to have an excuse to dress up and go out for a bit, if nothing else. He insisted on paying, too, even if it was an underhanded attempt to woo me…so no money was wasted on my part, at least. I was going to buy myself a pint of ice cream on the way home to distract myself from the crushing reality that no one worth the effort could ever find me attractive and want to pursue a meaningful, long-term relationship with me, but now I’m not so sure. I’m exhausted, and I couldn’t even get a word in edgewise for a solid twenty minutes—I just did a whole lot of nodding along and ‘mmhmm’ing.”
“Firstly, you should treat yourself—I’ll even pay for it since you were the one who had to tolerate all that shit, undoubtedly like an angel because I know you and you’re a painfully polite person—and secondly, I’m not going to unpack…all of that statement, but I am going to tell you right now that you are a prize who deserves the best treatment a girl could ask for and shouldn’t have to. You’re worth it, even if you don’t feel like it—don’t try to deny it, I’ve heard all those little self-deprecating comments you’ve made over the months—and I’m sure there’s someone out there just dying for you to grant him a chance at making you the happiest woman alive.”
“I’m sure—he’s liable to just walk around the corner at any moment.” You rolled your eyes, but your expression softened into one of gratitude when you spotted the conviction on the barista’s face. “...Thank you, it helps to hear that occasionally. Maybe one day I’ll believe it, too.”
“Of course. It’ll stick eventually.” Amy opened her arms to offer you a hug, and you accepted it gratefully. Cheek pressed on top of your head, she rubbed and patted your back in a few soothing sweeps before releasing you and stepping back while drawing the shop keys out of her apron with a grin and a lingering gaze toward the main plaza across the street corner. “...But I honestly think you’re a little more oblivious than I thought if you really haven’t noticed.”
“What do you mean?” you asked, brow furrowing as you fiddled with the thin leather strap of your crossbody resting across your chest. Had she changed topics without you realizing?
“It’s a wonder what a little…gentle prodding can do in the long run,” she continued idly, eyes glittering with mirth as she twirled the jangling keyring on her finger and returned her attention to you. “There’s a reason I talked you into all that—well, besides getting you out on the town for an evening, of course. I think primping yourself did you a lot of good—you’re glowing.”
You blinked and opened your mouth to question her further, but approaching footsteps captured your attention due to their familiar scuffling cadence. You turned and spotted Steven’s slumped silhouette emerging into the ambient, watery light casting a cone around the coffee shop’s entrance. He’d already spotted you, evidently, and his face lit up in an infectiously warm smile as you recognized him. You found yourself returning the gesture subconsciously.
“Hello, mate,” Amy chirped, waggling her fingers at him. “How’d the application process go today? Did you pass the assessment?”
“With flyin’ colors!” Steven crooned, his back unfurling as his shoulders pushed back and his chin raised. He came to a stop near you, hands tucked into his pockets as his chest pressed forward against his otherwise gargantuan jacket. “The lady who looked it over seemed shocked that I knew so much, but that just goes to show you—I told ‘em for months that this ol’ noggin’ of mine wasn’t empty!” He knocked his knuckle on his temple with a toothy grin.
“You’ve got a sponge for a brain, darlin’,” you told him with a chuckle, reaching out and squeezing his elbow affectionately. His eyes softened as he refocused on you, his smile smoothing into a closed-lipped one. “I think you could talk circles around all those stuffy professors at the university, honestly—half of them haven’t updated their sources since the nineties. And it’s not your fault that your old manager had her head crammed so far up her ass.”
“Yeah, well,” he responded, color building beneath the high arches of his cheeks and gilding his tawny skin with rose-gold even under the otherwise unflattering fluorescent bulb of the streetlight, “I just like to read, is all. And I haven’t had to deal with her, thankfully—different divisions and all that.”
You shook your head fondly. He certainly didn’t have to remind you of that fact—the countless hours he’d spent in the coffee shop and the bookstore with his aquiline nose buried in books were proof enough of that. “Did you get all the paperwork filled out? It didn’t give you any trouble?”
“Got it all sorted. I, uh—” He cast a furtive glance towards Amy. “—got help when I needed it.”
Ah. Marc likely had to help him fill in the gaps. You often wondered if Marc was the one that got him his job in the gift shop to start with, but…Steven didn’t talk very much about what he was able to remember from the tenuous times he fronted before he met you while Marc was trying to wrap up all of his personal affairs in attempt to flee from his problems.
Steven didn’t go out of his way to advertise their situation to others, as he and Marc were still trying to iron out all of the kinks with their living situation and attending therapy sessions, but you had the feeling that Amy sensed something was remiss with him because of how often she was around him in proximity to you. She hadn’t ever said anything besides the occasionally affectionate, “He’s a little odd, isn’t he?” but you were always able to distract her with a casual, “We’re all a bit strange.”
“That’s good.” Another breeze skated through the street, blowing over your exposed legs and causing you to shiver. You hunkered into your cardigan and glanced up at the pitch black sky. “I’d probably better hit the store and head home. I can hear a hot shower calling my name, and I intend to sleep in after that entire disaster.”
Steven perked up. “After all what, love?”
“Oh.” Heat crept into your cheeks. “I, uh…had a date. It didn’t go so well.”
He blinked, brows inclining upwards for a tick in a surprise that he wasn’t quite able to conceal. “I—oh. I-I didn’t realize. I’m sorry to hear that.”
“It was sort of last minute.” You cleared your throat. “The guy was an ignorant prick anyway. I was lucky I made it out of there with my intellect still intact.”
That managed to draw a chuckle from him, at least, but you couldn’t shake the way his eyes lingered on you, slowly traversing over your silhouette—you felt terribly vulnerable, laid bare under the gentle weight of his troubled umber gaze. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but you couldn’t quite read the expression on Steven’s face—an unusual occurrence, to be certain, as he was an open book to you most of the time—so you weren’t certain what to make of his reaction.
It didn’t help that you were terribly insecure about the situation to start with, given the fact that you would have much rather had Steven as your date instead.
With that desire, however, came an entire Pandora’s box of complicated emotions. Negative past experiences had left you extremely hesitant to initiate romantic connections of any kind. And, despite how much you trusted Steven, you had an extremely difficult time trying to shake off your doubts. The sliver of boldness in you wanted for nothing more than to grab the lapels of his wrinkled, oversized jacket and kiss him breathless to avoid the awkward song and dance of treading that tenuous line between friendship and romance when it came to people who had grown inextricably close as the pair of you had…but the overwhelming majority of your mentality, insecure and timid and wounded, would rather keep him at arm’s length to secure his platonic affection at the very least. If that was all you could ever have of him, you’d take it gladly—but the heart wants what it wants, and you longed for all of him, as selfish as you knew your feelings to be.
He was in a difficult place, trying to rediscover himself and having to reassess his entire worldview, and here you were pining for him like a teenager with a helpless crush on someone far beyond your league. Steven was everything you had ever wanted—so very smart and sweet and sincere—but who were you to think he’d ever be interested in you of all people? When he could have anybody he wanted, far more gorgeous and intelligent and better than you could even dream of being?
A needlessly poetic notion, perhaps, but…you always had been a romantic.
That is why you had never tried your (admittedly poor) luck. You liked Steven, more than anyone else whom you’d ever before met, but…he’d never made a move. He was naturally open with his affection with everyone, amiable to a fault at times, so you couldn’t assume that his behavior indicated any particular favor on your behalf.
Still…you couldn’t bear it to pull yourself away now. He’d become your best friend within a couple of weeks of meeting him, and he was the only one with whom you felt completely safe in this sprawling, suffocating cityscape. You knew without a doubt that you could rely on him for anything—he had proven himself reliable time and again over the last few months, dropping everything when you needed him. You’d give him everything you had in a heartbeat in return—including your heart, although he’d unwittingly taken possession of it long ago.
“I, ah…” Steven cleared his throat, placing his closed fist over his mouth while tipping his head down to look at you through his lashes, “...would you like me to walk you home, love? It’s awfully late for you to be goin’ to the mart by yourself.”
Although you and Steven had fallen into the habit of catching the bus together on the instances that he got stuck taking inventory before he’d gotten fired, given that you both closed up shop about the same time, that routine had fallen by the wayside. He still offered to almost every night, though, oftentimes texting you to check in around closing time (and he’d held you to a promise to let him know when you got home when you refused his offer). You missed your quiet, late night bus rides, honestly, but the last thing you wanted was to inconvenience him by having him make such a long round trip across London.
Tonight, though, with him standing there with those watery, sympathetic puppy-dog eyes, knowing that he understood poor dates better than most (nevermind the fact that he hadn’t mentioned going on any lately, now that you thought about it)…you couldn’t resist him even if you wanted to. Your self-esteem, already dangerously low, had suffered a severe toll tonight, and you needed Steven’s reassurance more than anything (even a scalding shower to scrub your woes away).
“That would be greatly appreciated, darlin’,” you said, smiling wearily. “There’s a store a block away from my apartment complex, so it’s not too far of a walk from the bus stop.”
Steven bobbed his head, and you turned to hug Amy, who patted your back. “Sorry again he turned out to be a wanker,” she said. “Maybe you’ll have better luck on the next one.”
You pulled back and raised a brow at her glittering eyes. “If there even is a ‘next one’,” you chuckled wryly. “I’m just about ready to give up at this point.”
“Bad luck’s bound to turn into good luck eventually,” she said, then turned with her keys. “I’ll see you Monday—have a good weekend.”
“You, too.” You readjusted your purse strap and glanced at Steven, tilting your head towards the other end of the sidewalk. “Shall we?”
“I think so.” He offered you his elbow, and you took it with a quiet sigh of relief. His frame offered a welcome reprieve of a blockade against the wind, and his warmth seeped even through the plethora of loose layers he favored wearing.
Mutual comfortable silence followed your stroll to the bus stop, and you leaned against his arm when you both settled on a bench near the back of the bus when it rumbled through. It didn’t take long for him to readjust in his seat and you straightened on reflex, embarrassed that you’d done it subconsciously without asking him for permission first.
“No, no, love,” he murmured, lifting his arm over your shoulders, “here. Figured this would be more comfortable for you. You’re still shiverin’.”
“Oh.” You bit the inside of your lip, fighting the flutter of your stomach. “Thank you.”
You accepted his embrace, resting your head upon the cradle of his shoulder and sinking into him. His fingers curled lightly around your arm, squeezing absently. You closed your eyes as the tension drained from your body, taking a deep breath, and—in so doing—drew in a lungful of his cologne.
He had no right to smell so damn good.
“What do you need at the mart?” he asked quietly. “So I can help you look.”
“Just some snacks,” you mumbled. “Ice cream, maybe. I have leftovers in the fridge I was going to reheat since he made a comment about what I ordered.”
Steven’s arm tightened around your shoulders. “...He what?”
You shook your head. “It doesn’t matter. He insisted on paying, so I guess he was just watching his budget.”
Steven scoffed, and it was one of the only times you’ve ever heard his tone slip into open disdain. “The gall.”
“It’s over now. I consider it a reward for wasting my time, at least.” You turned your head and tucked your nose under his jaw. “I don’t really want to think about it anymore, if that’s okay.”
“That’s perfectly all right,” he told you, tugging you closer. “Just let me know if he gives you any trouble, yeah?”
“Oh, I already have him blocked, don’t worry.” You let out a snort... “I don’t think he was particularly impressed, anyway.” …and a sigh. “Can’t really blame him.”
Steven sucked in a breath. “Now why would you go and say a silly thing like that, love?”
It had slipped out, honestly. You’d meant to internalize that lapse of self-deprecation, but you found it hard to conceal your thoughts around Steven. You had no answer for him, so you attempted a hamfisted effort to divert his attention. “I have enough food for you, too, if you’d like to stay. I figure you haven’t had much to eat this evening, and you can crash at my place since it’s so late.”
“...Do you want me to stay?” he asked softly. “So you won’t be alone?”
You laughed under your breath. “I don’t know how you do that. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re able to read minds, Steven Grant.”
“No telepathy to be had,” he said mildly, the pad of his thumb beginning to draw circles on your bicep over the chunky knit of your cardigan. “Just…I know how it feels.” He cleared his throat. “I’ll be happy to stay, if you’ll have me.”
You wished you could kiss him. You wished you could get away from him before your heart ended up shattered once again by your own helplessness. “Always.”
The supermarket was just short of empty when you both shuffled in, rubbing your arms to wring the growing chill from your extremities. The pop music from a top-forty station gave the aisles a melancholic quality, and Steven trailed you with a basket as you picked up the handful of necessities that needed restocking. A cursory glance at him on the freezer aisle, tilting his head back and staring up at the fluorescent lights thoughtfully, prompted you to grab a pint of raspberry sorbet instead of your normal go-to flavor of ice cream. If he noticed the change from your usual purchase while the sleepy teenage cashier rang up the handful of groceries, Steven didn’t comment on it. You’d rarely seen him so pensive.
Your apartment was blissfully warm when you let yourself back in, locked the door behind you, and turned the television on. You took the paper sack from Steven (having insisted that he carry it even though it wasn’t that heavy) and tipped your head to the living room. “Make yourself at home. There’s more blankets in the coffee chest. I’m going to put these up and grab a quick shower.”
“You wanted a long one, yeah?” he prompted. “Don’t rush on my account. I know where everythin’ is. I can take care of myself, you know.”
You nodded and turned. You were too tired to quibble with him—you knew he didn’t mind you not playing the perfect host all the time. “Okay. Watch whatever you want. My kitchen’s yours.”
“All right.” His hand grasped your elbow. “I mean it: take your time.”
You flashed him a small, appreciative smile. “Yes, sir.”
You watched the color bloom under his cheeks with more than a little fondness. He wrestled the sack back out of your arms. “I know where all this goes,” he blurted. “Go on, then.”
Maybe it was a little selfish of you, but…letting him take care of you just this once wouldn’t hurt anything, right? You chuckled. “Okay, okay—I’m going.”
You retreated to your bedroom and shut the door. Your shoes came off first, then your cardigan and your dress. Everything else followed shortly thereafter—all of it was tossed into the hamper as you tread silently into the bathroom. Frissons broke out over your bare skin as you stepped onto the cold tile, reaching around the glass divider to start the water so it would warm up while you went ahead and started your bedtime routine.
You took Steven’s advice, although with no small amount of guilt at not entertaining him (in spite of the fact that he was a grown-ass man and could very well occupy himself, as he’d said). You hated being separated from him, even through two measly walls, but the urge to get that other man’s lascivious, if critical, gaze off of you as soon as possible was far stronger at the moment.
You stood under the steaming stream for a long time, listening to the music you’d selected to play from your phone. You washed your hair and body with a certain degree of clinicism, doggedly avoiding looking at yourself in the mirror lest your mood deteriorate even more. His skepticism over your ‘generous’ choice of entree shouldn’t have mattered—he’d ordered a meal that would have made bulking bodybuilders jealous—but the subtle comments he’d sprinkled throughout the meal had taken down the carefully constructed walls surrounding your appearance. You’d worked hard to repress your hangups, dammit, and all it took was one lousy date? When he was just an asshole and didn’t even deserve to get under your skin like that?
You growled under your breath and shut the shower off, ringing out your hair and swiping the extra moisture from your skin before stepping out to towel off. You finished up with your skin care routine and went back into your bedroom to put on your favorite sweatpants and t-shirt, topped with a baggy hoodie. When you reemerged into the living room, Steven was nowhere to be seen, but the opening titles of The Mummy were playing on repeat on the television with the case open on the TV stand.
You stepped into the kitchen, following your nose and ears, and found him standing over the stove reheating the leftover vegan shakshuka you’d experimented with the night before.
“You didn’t have to do that,” you said softly, lingering in the doorway and fiddling with the ends of your sleeves. “I was going to.”
“You’re dead on your feet, love,” Steven admonished you lightly, glancing over his shoulder with a small, lopsided grin. “I can handle it. Wouldn’t mind a drink, though.”
You wanted to point out the dark circles beneath his eyes and the fatigued slump of his shoulders, but you refrained in order to save his dignity. “Would you like some tea, or soda, or…?”
“A cuppa would be lovely.”
“Is chai okay?”
“Sounds perfect.”
You set the electric kettle on (bought just for him, as you preferred iced tea, but you’d never admit that to him because you knew he’d feel guilty about you spending money on him) and pulled the box of tea bags out of the pantry, as well as a pot of honey, for him to fix it how he preferred. You grabbed a mug from the cabinet, as well, and set it out for him. You opted for a bottle of water, pouring it over ice.
“Think it’s ready,” Steven said, and you grabbed a couple of plates for him to ladle portions of the dish onto. You grabbed some cutlery and napkins, as well as your glass, and followed him into the living room.
“I’ll be right back,” he said, setting down the plates on the coffee table before straightening. “Mind if I borrow the loo first?”
“Go ahead,” you told him, sinking down into the couch with a tired groan. He disappeared into the shadows of your room, and you rested your head against the cushion at your back as your eyes drifted shut.
You remained still, listening to the music coming from the TV and to Steven’s movements as he soon came back and stepped into the kitchen. Water poured, clinking of metal on porcelain, socks scuffing on flooring. The cushion next to you dipped and creaked under his weight, and his knuckle brushed your wrist. “Not hungry, love?”
“Just waiting on you.” Truthfully, you didn’t have very much desire to eat, but your stomach was protesting the insufficient sustenance of the salad you’d opted to order instead of the club sandwich with chips you’d wanted. You sat up and pulled the plate into your lap. The inviting smell certainly helped. “I hope it’s okay, I don’t know if it’s any good.”
“Anything you make is mana on earth, love,” Steven assured you. He grabbed the remote and started the movie before sipping his tea tentatively.
“There’s always room for failure,” you responded wryly, but bringing up a mouthful proved that your endeavor had been successful, thankfully. “Oh, thank God. I ended up snacking while I cooked last night and got full before I could try it. It’s okay.”
Steven tried it himself and hummed with pleasure. “It’s more than okay, love.”
“I’m glad.” You turned your attention to the screen and hunkered against the arm of the couch. “...Thank you for all this.”
You felt Steven’s gaze fix itself on your profile. “...You’re welcome.”
The night outside grew darker, and when the both of you finished eating, Steven bullied his way into taking the dishes and washing them while ordering you to stay put. You paused the film in the meantime, tugging the blanket off the back of the couch and curling up beneath it. He turned off the lights and took the other end when you offered it. Other than the occasional chuckle, neither of you spoke again until the credits began to roll. By then, you’d grown sleepy. Steven had anchored you into his side once again, resting his cheek on the crown of your head. You’d started to doze off when the rumble of his chest roused you.
“...You know you really shouldn’t say such cruel things about yourself, love. You looked extra gorgeous tonight.”
You swallowed, and in the safety of the apartment’s darkness you let your expression fall. “I know.”
“You really are somethin’ special.” His fingers drummed slowly against your arm. “I mean it. I’m honored to know you. And I want you to know that I’ll always be here for you.”
“You don’t know how much I appreciate that,” you murmured, even if that traitorous, if scarred, part of yourself denied his claim automatically. It wasn’t fair to him, but old habits die hard. “Thank you for staying with me.”
“It’s the least I could do,” he responded, “you know, as an apology on behalf of all men for that sorry wanker wasting your time.”
You laughed in the midst of a yawn. “It’ll be a story to tell on holidays, if nothing else.”
“Tired?” he asked.
“Yeah.” You pressed your face into his shirt. “You can take the bed if you want.”
“Now, you know how this debate will end.”
“I do. I still wanted to offer.”
“All right. I will need to shower first, though, if you don’t mind. I still smell like the cleaner they use in the museum.”
You sat up to give him space to stand. The smell of the museum suited him, but you didn’t exactly want to reveal that you’d been discreetly huffing his collar for the last hour. “I don’t. I have your spares in the same drawer.”
“Thank you.” Steven extricated his arm, but after a moment’s hesitation he placed a kiss on your temple. You looked up at him, shocked, and that seemed to be his intention, because despite the outlines of his face matching your flusteredness, he appeared deadly serious. “You mean more to me than you’ll ever know, poppet,” he whispered. “And you deserve all the happiness in the world, bad dates be damned.”
“I…” You swallowed roughly. “Th-thank you, darlin’.”
His mouth opened as though he’d intended to say more, but hesitation won out in the end. He shook his head and patted your knee before straightening to his feet. “Go ahead and go to bed, I’ll take everything with me in there. You need to sleep as much as you can.”
“All right,” you murmured, watching him go. He fidgeted with his hands all the way of his retreat into the bathroom. You couldn’t breathe until you heard the shower whine to a start. Your heart didn’t stop pounding against your ribs until after he exited, curls damp and pajamas draped over his lean form, told you good night, and shut your bedroom door behind him to give you privacy.
When you woke up the next morning and wandered into the kitchen for something to eat, Steven was waiting for you with two bowls of sorbet ready, and you decided then—much to the distress of your frightful heart—that you were in love.

finished re-reading tig!
can I rant about how JLB matched the clues to the Hawthorne brothers so fittingly
(Maybe I’m reading too much into this but a girl will dream)
Spoilers for The Inheritance Games below the cut‼️
Tumblr media
Nash “Westbrook” Hawthorne
-> like water, he goes with the flow. a really laid back kinda guy
-> imo, this clue was the first and probably the easiest to find (it wasn’t hidden like Gray and Jamie’s so…)
-> Nash is simple and straightforward, in a good way of course
In fact, the oldest Hawthorne brother gave the impression that the whole mansion could come crashing down around him and he’d just keep leaning against that fireplace. Nash Hawthorne would probably tip his cowboy hat to Death herself. - thl pg6 (just started it, couldn’t help myself)
Tumblr media
Grayson “Davenport” Hawthorne
-> he’s a desk :D 🪑 <- here’s a chair ‘cos I couldn’t find a desk
-> looks to be straightforward but has some hidden secrets or dare we say, ✨trauma✨
-> tbh I found it quite amusing to have Gray’s clue be a plastic keychain… I thought it would be something more refined (?) like an engraved pen or handkerchief tucked in the desk
(maybe it shows the shallowness of having a person like Em*** haunt you for like 4 books, just saying)
Tumblr media
Jameson “Winchester” Hawthorne
-> a gun :D
“None of them are loaded, but you treat them like they are. Always” - tig pg239
^let me do some delulu-ing literary analysis here
we know Jameson is a sensation seeker, someone akin to fire, who’s passionate and isn’t afraid to show it
so you’ve got to handle him with care, cause he’s dangerous, or potentially so
(Or you might get the “little lapse of judgement” at black wood)
-> and I find it interesting cause it seems that Jameson can only focus on one thing at a time (?) like the opposite of Xander who likes to sidetrack
-> yk the kiss at the Laughlin’s cottage after the attempt? Like his mind was solely on solving the puzzle
-> You can’t change a bullet’s trajectory once it’s been shot
Tumblr media
Alexander “Blackwood” Hawthorne
-> the old man grew a whole forest in the shape of a zero just to give a clue :] need I say more?
-> also, idt anyone got the clue until Xander gave the hint, which goes to show that no one really, truly gets Xander (yet?)
“I am a human Rube Goldberg machine,” he said. “I do simple things in complicated ways.” - tig (I have lost the page number boohoo)
Also, I find it really fitting that the clues led to 10/18
“Jamie and Gray, they’d team up against me, then double-cross each other right at the end.” - tig (the page numbers just seem to disappear into the walls man)
Jameson and Grayson both have the number 1 in their clues. And the ones kind of double cross each other to form 10 and 18.
-> I like to think that Jameson’s one is in the 10 with Xander’s, and Grayson’s with Nash in the 18.

Bucky walked in the gym of the Avengers Compound to see you training with Natasha. He stood in the doorway and watched as you and Natasha sparred. He couldn’t help but become entranced with your fighting technique. The way you threw punches and kicks made him fall even more in love with you. Bucky has had a crush on you for a while now, but he’s not sure how to tell you how he feels about you. Bucky was so entranced by you that he didn’t hear Steve walk up behind him.
“What are you doing?” Steve asks, making Bucky jump.
“I- uhh… nothing.” Bucky says nervously.
Steve followed Bucky’s gaze to you.
“Oh I see what’s going on here.” Steve starts. “You’re impressed with Y/N’s improvement since she became an Avenger.” He says.
“Yes!” He said a little too fast. “I’m definitely impressed with her improvement.” He says, nervously smiling.
Steve stared at Bucky for a moment, knowing that something is going on with him, but he didn’t want to press on about it.
“Ok, well…” Steve patted Bucky’s shoulder. “See you later.” He says before walking away.
Bucky nodded and turned his attention back to you. Natasha glanced at Bucky and smirked.
“I think Barnes is staring at you.” Natasha whispers.
You turned your head to see Bucky looking at you. His face turned red in embarrassment when you caught him staring at you. He quickly left the gym, making you and Natasha giggle.
“The man is clearly in love with you.” She states. “It’s been years since he’s been in love” She says.
“You think he’s in love with me?” You asked.
“Yes!” She smiles. “You should talk to him!” She says.
“You know what…” You start, a smile forming on your face. “I just might.” You say.
Later that day, you walked in the lounge room to see Bucky filling out a mission report from a previous mission.
“Hi, Sarge!” You say, smiling.
“Hi, Y/N.” Bucky says, looking up from the mission report.
“You know…” You took a seat next to him on the couch. “I seen you staring at me when I was training with Nat earlier.” You say.
“I-I’m sorry.” He stutters. “I wasn’t trying to be creepy or anything.” He says, his cheeks turning red in embarrassment.
“It’s fine, Bucky.” You giggled, putting a hand on his shoulder. “You’re impressed with my fighting skills. Is that it?” You asked.
“Yes!” He said too fast. “Your fighting skills have improved a lot. Not that you’re bad at fighting, it’s just- I’m going to shut up before I say something to embarrass myself.” He says.
Bucky gathered his papers and stood up. You quickly grabbed his wrist before he walked away.
“Don’t leave.” You pouted. “I like hearing you talk.” You say.
“Y-You do?” He asks, stuttering.
Bucky hasn’t felt this nervous around a girl since he was a teenager.
“Yes.” You stand up. “I like seeing those handsome lips moving when you’re talking.” You say in a flirty tone.
Bucky’s breath hitched in his throat when you reached up to rub your thumb across his bottom lip. He stared deep in your eyes as you leaned in and kissed him, standing on your tippy toes to reach his lips due to the height difference. Bucky was caught by surprise, but kissed you back. He tossed the mission report on the couch and placed his hands on your waist, pulling your body against his. You left him breathless when you pulled away.
“Holy shit…” Bucky says breathlessly.
You couldn’t help but giggle.
“Looks like I have you under my influence, Sarge.” You say in a flirty tone.
“I’ve been under your influence since the day we met.” He says.
“Oh yea?” You bit your bottom lip and stood on your tippy toes. “I love having you under my influence.” You whispered in his ear, sending a shiver through his body.
“Me too.” He says, kissing you again.

Summary: “Did you think you could hide from us? That’s adorable, little one. There’s no where on this planet where you could hide from the Shostakov Bratva and even if you did manage to evade us, the Barnes Bratva would find you. Your связи, your connections, will always come back to haunt you, Y/N.”

A week passes by in a blur of moving and staring out the window while that stupid song, Possibility by Lykke Li, plays in the back of my head. Bucky arranged for all of my stuff to be moved into his penthouse but promised to keep my apartment for me. I think he even offered to take over my rent but honestly I don’t remember. I’ve tried to tell myself that I haven’t fallen into a depression but that would be a lie.
Between having my world crumble around me and then rebuilt by others, it’s to be expected that I’m feeling…awful. That’s not the right word but it’s all that I can think of to describe the feeling of complete isolation and loss of control that’s taking residency in my chest.
Bucky and Sam did stay around for the first couple of days, probably to make sure I didn’t do anything stupid but after that, it was just me, the two guards who never look like they’re doing anything, and two other staff members. Thor, the massive blonde guard, lounges at the kitchen island everyday and flirts with the golden haired cook named Jane. The other guard, Valkyrie, is always within sight of me and moves when I do like a little shadow but I rarely see Loki who I can only assume runs the entire place. If he’s not on the phone, he’s just hanging up or is excusing himself to answer it.
I’m grateful to have had time to process and grief before being shoved back into my life and forced to act like nothing happened. Tony and Steve both have called numerous times to make sure I’m okay after randomly taking a week off but it’s Carol’s insistence on texting, calling, DMing, and FaceTiming that gets to me. I have half a mind to show Bucky and get him to do something about however something tells me that I won’t like his methods.
His question comes in the form of a text the first night he’s not around. It was simple; “what’s your favorite food?”
“Are you really going to waste your question on that?”
“It’s a question all the same.”
“Pho but it has to be from the place down the street from my apartment.”
The next day Jane brought me that exact meal and made a point to show me the note that accompanied it.
“See? Not a waste.”
It wasn’t signed but I knew it was from him. Although I wanted to be angry with him for the part he’s playing in all of this, I couldn’t be. I can’t. He’s just as stuck as I am.
We’re both stuck being pawns for a giant game of chess that neither of us want to play.

A debriefing with Wanda and Carol wasn’t exactly what I thought my first day back at work would entail. I’d hoped for a relaxing day with my head buried in paperwork so I could avoid any questions but apparently not.
It surprised me at first that I would be allowed to go back to work but my father apparently hadn't cared enough to make any terms and conditions regarding me after I married Bucky. His concerns lay in the merging of their lower men and giving the directive of “shoot first, ask questions later” if they saw Antonia or any of her people to their Brigadiers. Neither of those things involved me and seeing as I was now a member of the Barnes Bratva, I became Bucky’s burden to bear.
The lack of rules regarding me meant that I could return to work and use it as a cover to help with the FBI’s investigation. Hence why I’m being forced to endure Carol’s stare as Wanda gives me the complete run down on Alexei. The entire time Carol’s been burning holes into my back and Tony’s done the same to her.
The moment I walked in, he had grabbed and yanked me into his office, demanding to know what the fuck happened. I explained as much as I could without putting him in danger but he refused to hear it. He’d threatened to send Steve after me if I didn’t give him the full story and the thought of Steve lecturing me was enough to have me spill everything. I swear tears pricked his eyes but he was quick to engulf me in a hug and promise to do whatever I needed him to.
“Anything at all, you call me. I don’t care what time it is, you call me,” he’d whispered into my hair and I nodded.
I honestly think if I asked him to make Carol disappear, he would. He might even be trying to do that now with the way he’s shooting daggers at her. Wanda pretends to not notice but the air is growing too hot around us and she lets out an annoyed huff.
“You need to figure your shit out right now. I don’t get paid to deal with children so you better grow up and sort it all out right now.”
Carol is the first to speak, “this isn't safe anymore. We need to call it off and find another way to get evidence.”
Wanda arches one auburn brow, “and why isn’t it safe anymore?”
“You know why.”
“I do but if you’re going to suggest something that stupid, you need to back it up.”
Tony snickers to himself and earns a glare from Carol.
I interject, “the operation is fine and we all know nothing is ever going to be ‘safe’ not when you’re dealing with criminals. Your best chance is me. Alexei will trust me more than anyone else you’d send in. It’ll be slow and you probably won’t get anything useful for a few weeks but sending in more people or even pulling anyone will be suspicious and he’ll catch on. I’ve been made Bucky’s Sovietnik and he’s obviously a part of all of this so I’m already in a good position to infiltrate Alexei’s organization or at least get someone else in.”
“Barnes made you his advisor already?” Wanda asks with curiosity and something else edges her voice.
“He only did it to piss me off,” Carol snips as she moves to make herself coffee.
“I’m starting to think you’re the problem, Danvers. Maybe you need to be reassigned,” Wanda snips back as she goes back to look at the file splayed out on the table. She’s leaning over the table and Tony joins her, coming to sit next to where her hand is on the table. They begin to speak in low voices and I take that as my cue to take a break or make a run for it. I still haven’t decided as I get up and excuse myself to go to the bathroom. Carol’s lurking on the other side of the room, angrily stirring her coffee and staring at the ground so I think it’s safe to slip out.
Alas, everything I think is apparently wrong and I don’t see her follow me out but she makes her presence known when she grabs my arm in the hallway and stops me.
“What is it with people grabbing me?” I sneer at her as I spin around and pull my arm away from her before she can say anything. Hurt flashes in the eyes that I once loved to get lost in but that was before I found out she’s been using me. Now they’re dull and lifeless like a painting that’s been sitting in the sunlight too long. “What do you want?”
“I…” she stammers clearly not expecting me to snap at her and that makes me even more angry. Did she really think I could forgive and forget, move on after hearing that she’s the reason my sister is dead and that she’s been lying to me since we met? The void that’s eaten away at me now fills with molten anger and demands to be released.
“Spit it out. I have to pee.”
“I'm sorry. I wanted to say I’m sorry and ask if you’d come over for dinner tomorrow.”
If I were feeling anything other than anger, my jaw would’ve dropped in surprise but instead it clenches and I raise a brow at her.
She continues, looking around to make sure no one hears a single desperate and disgusting word she’s saying, “please, Oksana…”
When I didn’t think she could fuck up anymore, she does and she knows it by the way her face pales.
“Let me make myself perfectly clear; my name is Y/N and I want nothing to do with you after all of this is over. Bucky already told you that we can’t be seen together anymore. We can’t be together anymore and nor would I even want that if it was a possibility. I will be professional because we have a job to do but don’t expect me to come running back to you because you said you were sorry. It means nothing to me.”
Something shifts in her and she takes a step forward as a dark look overtakes her features, “but it means something when he says it?”
I narrow my eyes at her and scoff. Jealousy is a terrible look on everyone but on her it’s appalling. Shaking my head, I turn to the bathroom and she yanks me back, pinning me between the wall and herself. She leans down to whisper in my ear, “because he’s the good guy, right? The guardian angel who saved you from turning out like your sisters? Is that it? Is that why you didn’t even try to stop the marriage and just rolled over like a fucking dog?”
“No,” I grit out as I try to push her but she doesn’t budge. “Move.”
She presses further into me and I gasp out of anger, shock, rage, take your pick.
“He’s the criminal here, don’t forget that,” she whispers in my ear and I squeeze my eyes shut at the feeling of her breath washing over me.
“I can see it clear as day now,” I whisper back and she pulls away with pinched brows. Dropping my head back against the wall, I use her confusion as my chance to slam it forward and smash my forehead into her nose. She lets out a shriek of pain and jumps away from me as blood gushes from her nose. I can feel where my forehead made contact with her nose and blood drips down my face but I don’t care.
“Tell whatever story you want, Carol, but don’t think you can make me the villain without forcing me to turn into one. You don’t know me half as well as you think you do nor do you know what I’m prepared to fucking do if needed. You are a pathetic excuse for a human being.”
Finally she’s silent and I straighten my shoulders at my victory before giving her a look that would make even Alexei shrink away. I know that someone will have something to say about what just happened but for now, I’ll bask in the glory of getting her to leave me alone and clean up my face after I pee like I originally wanted to.
Tony is sitting on the bathroom counter when I open my stall and go to clean up. He doesn’t look pissed but he doesn’t look happy either. I choose to ignore him as I gather paper towels and wet them so I can dab at my forehead. He takes them from my hands and finishes the job.
“You need to be more careful.”
“I’m aware.”
“Are you though? I don’t know exactly what Barnes has worked out with the Feds but I’m sure there’s a clause somewhere that lets them drop you whenever they want.”
I stare blankly at him and he rolls his eyes; what a perfect duo we are.
“All I’m saying is that if something happens, I don’t know that I can help you.”
I step away from him, narrowing my eyes at him, “I don’t need you to save me. I don’t need anyone to save me, I can take care of myself. If something goes wrong, I’ll be fine because that’s always what happens; I find a way out.”
Tony’s eyes soften and he drops the bloody towels into the sink, “I didn’t say you needed saving, I said I might not be able to help. Those are two very different things and this..”
He gestures under us as if the lies are tangled into the air, “this is different. This isn’t a bad day on a case or even a criminal who got away. This is your past. These are your connections that you’ve tried to sever for years coming back to show you that you won’t be free until every last one is gone. All I’m asking is for you to be careful please.”
I nod and shift my stare to the woman in the mirror that looks vaguely like me. Her forehead is a collage of dark hues, throbbing under the surface but the blood is no longer visible. Her eyes are void of anything, any life, any emotion whatsoever but there is a slight curl to her lips, a shadow of a smirk.
Oksana is staring back at me and I find myself welcoming her home after so many years.

The first thing out of Sam’s mouth when he sees me is “Jesus fucking Christ” as he hands me an ice pack. It’s been a few hours so it’s not like it’s going to do anything but I appreciate the gesture nonetheless.
“You should see the other guy,” I half joke as I take the pack, pressing it to my forehead with a wince and he shakes his head even more.
Bucky on the other hand is silent, nothing betraying what he’s thinking as he stares at me from across the kitchen island. It’s unsettling. It’s unrelenting. It’s enough to make me want to vomit.
Sam notices and clears his throat, drawing me into a debrief about the meeting with Feds. He sits beside me and doesn’t hesitate before diving into how I got my lovely bruise. Only then does the Pakhan speak and causes us both to freeze mid sentence.
“Question for a question,” he barely utters as he leans back against the cabinets and crosses his arms. “Did she threaten you?”
Sam’s eyes dart between us as I carefully pick my words, “In a way, yes.”
“What do you mean?”
I raise a finger at him, “it's my turn, what changed that night?”
Vague sure but he understands.
“Take your pick. Alexei’s men came in too early, Joseph was killed, you fought me more than I expected, Yelena wasn’t sedated and then she bit Sam.”
I nod, satisfied with his answer and tell him to ask his second question which he repeats. Sam and him give each other a look before he slips out of the room and leaves just Bucky and I in the kitchen. Jane had left us all plates in the fridge but only Sam and Bucky had eaten. Mine still sits untouched only a few inches away on the island but I’ve been too focused with talking to even think about eating.
“She followed me to the bathroom and grabbed my arm.”
“There’s more.”
Damn, he’s getting good; stating things so that I have to either confirm or deny them but not outright asking.
“No there’s not.”
“Yes there is, tell me what else happened,” his voice is stern and it sends a shiver down my spine.
“There’s really not.”
“So your forehead just randomly bruises like that,” he states with a bored look and gestures to the darkening spot on my forehead.
Suddenly my food looks appealing. He calls my name, softer this time and I let out a sigh before looking at him over my food.
“She pinned me against the wall and wouldn’t move so I made her.”
“And head butting was the best option?”
I narrow my eyes at him, “one at a time.”
“Fine, ask yours then.”
I chew my food, pretending to think of one even though I already have one in mind. I maintain eye contact with him as I swallow.
“How long were you and nat together?”
He rubs his jaw and scratches at the stubble that’s grown into almost a beard since the start of this all. Eye bags are slowly starting to form and I wonder if it’s from me or the Feds or anything other aspect of his life. Everything seems to be complete chaos around him albeit organized to some degree.
“We weren’t.”
My brows knit together in confusion, “what? She was in love with you, she wouldn’t shut up about it.
He shrugs before sliding off the counter top and grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. “Some things are better left alone.”
“Are you always this frustratingly vague? No wonder Sam is always in a mood, you only speak in riddles and sarcasm.”
Bucky chuckles. “And I’m guessing you have a habit of picking fights when backed into a corner.”
“I was raised by the one and only Alexei Shostakov; isn’t that what he’s known for?”
He nods in agreement with a smirk but doesn’t say anything. We settle into silence as I finish eating and he stands guard with his arms crossed while leaning against the wall closest to the front door. The penthouse isn’t extravagant but it’s not homey either. Steel, concrete, and dark wood cover every surface giving it a showroom vibe and the severe lack of any personal touches makes it worse. The room I’ve been staying in was like a hotel room when I first moved in but now it’s at least comfortable thanks to my things. I tried once to be a minimalist but after years of not being allowed to enjoy life, I couldn’t deny the little girl in me that anymore.
Plants line the window seals and terribly hand knitted blankets cover the white bedding I couldn’t get rid of. While it might have felt sterile at first, the sheer comfort and luxury of those sheets and blankets convinced me to keep them. Where there aren’t plants, I put candles and small lamps so I don’t have to turn on the main lights. My little haven is the complete opposite of the kitchen that feels even colder with Bucky’s cold stare but it’s mine and mine alone.
He breaks the silence before I can escape to it and watches me closely.
“Has she hurt you before?” he asks, his voice dropping an octave in an effort to not scare me off I assume. I freeze as I’m putting my dishes into the sink with my back to him. I know who he’s talking about and I know my answer but I can’t figure out why he cares.
He seems to see the hesitation in me and taps my elbow to get my attention. I’m thankful he doesn’t grab me and I suck in a breath before turning around.
He is unlike any of the other Bratva men I’m used to. The others are filthy, worn, and all around awful to be near from their lives in crime but there’s something about this man that’s different. He looks every bit of the menacing Pakhan that he is, however I still remember that laughing young man who pulled pranks on my sisters with me. The years aren’t usually kind to the children raised in Bratvas but he’s found a way to make them work in his favor and at 34, Bucky is the most respected while fearsome Pakhan this world has seen.
The kitchen light above us emphasizes the dark flecks in his blue eyes and amplifies the sun kissed hue of his skin. The dark blue threads of his eyes rival that of any ocean wave I’ve ever seen and mild concern lurks in them as they bore into me.
“Has Carol…” he starts and I interrupt him.
“No. She’s…she wasn’t like that at all. She’s never even raised her voice at me before.”
“Lisichka,” he murmurs to me and the nickname catches me by surprise.
Little fox.
“Don't call me that,” I spit out and clench my fists at my side before storming off to my room.
Little fox.
He used to call Natasha that.
