whatever whatever i'm thinking abt an actor!au with toji,, you're just co-stars on this silly little action film, doing interviews here n there and the fans are fucking loving you. it's obvious that the chemistry is there, that it's real – toji is stealing glances at you at every possible moment he can, his eyes flicking to your lips when you laugh and smile. and you're no better either; your hand rests on his thigh as you lean into his side, giggling at a stupid comment he made and the cameras are catching it all. there's no doubt that something more is going on behind the scenes...

and when a picture of the two of you taking a nap together on the set gets out – your face burrowed into the crook of his neck while his big arms snake around your middle, holding you to him like a small kitten – the fans fucking lose their minds.

Perhaps it's just one of those differences between the way that people experience fandom- obviously, we're all going to process a story in a different way than someone else because we're all different people from each other- but one of the most peculiar things for me about being part of a fandom, especially one so deeply mired in character death (Alien Stage) is the way that . . . well, the idea of the actor au isn't comforting to me. It probably has something to do with the way that I am but alternate universes and the idea that the characters are just actors playing parts, well, it doesn't really help me to reconcile the deaths of the characters I love. It feels kind of like when someone fakes their death in a story and their loved ones still grieve them because grief is an emotional response not a rational one. Like, it's pathetic to say but I'm still grieving Ivan's death. I'm still not over it. Literally I almost broke down crying in a Thai restaurant about him about a week ago because I heard My Love Mine All Mine and thought of him.

I don't know what it is exactly but perhaps it has something to do with the way that, for me, aus and the canon storyline are separate in my mind, almost as if they're different stories entirely. Especially with the way that in the ALNST actor au, they are actually different characters who act differently and have relationships unrelated to their canon counterparts, it's hard for me to be like "oh yeah, mizisua and ivantill are fine because they're just actors!" because that doesn't help me cope, personally. Because even though they share the same names, that isn't ivantill and mizisua to me. They're different characters, living out different lives, and not in the way that regular aus are where they're more or less the same characters but in a different font but the actor au and canon are entirely separate in my mind, different guys. But that's probably just a me thing.

You watched in horror as Nanami smiled gently at you. He looked so content for someone with half of his body missing. And there you were in a stunned silence, tears brimming on the edge of eyelids. You couldn’t move, you couldn’t scream all you could do was just watch him. Your beloved Nanami was gone.

“Are you…(Y/N) are you crying right now?” Kento asked pulling you closer to him.

Without looking you pushed your finger to his lips with a loud “Shhhh!”

You cried, “The love of my life is dying.”

“I am right beside you.” He replied. The one con to being an actor is your own partner falling in love with the character version of you.

“Not you-you, him-you!”

“That is still me…” Kento sighed as you straighten up. You lean forward on the edge of the couch, watching the scene intensely.

“I can’t believe they would kill off my husband like this.” You cried.

“I’m starting to think you like Nanami more than me.” Your actual husband stated.

“I’d cry if you died Ken.” You said, unfazed. “And you do your own stunts to, I’m worried this all hurt you.”

Kento let out an amused chuckle as you dramatically held back tears, leaning even closer to the TV. He had to admit the whole ordeal of you falling in love with his character, the one you swore up and down acted almost exactly like him, was very endearing. Even if he knew your real concern was your TV husband.

Soo it would take place after like Whumpee’s recovery arc so they’re all good now, only lightly traumatised. But they’ve got a job now (thinking maybe actor or musician for this prompt) but you know how famous people have fan meets where they sign photos and stuff.

So Whumpee is signing away but then a fan passes them a photo, not from on or their shoots. But of them tied up/bound/gagged/beaten bloody/heh maybe even naked. (You know whatever strikes your fancy) and Whumpee is just shocked, how has a fan gotten their hands onto this, the only person to have a copy of this is whumper.

And then everything goes quiet as Whumpee looks up to see whumper (be funny if they’re decked out in whumpee’s merch) but like saying something “can you make it out to Whumper, your biggest fan” and maybe “to whom I owe everything” dunno stuff about how whumper made them who they are yada yada. But yeah

My brain just hit an old hyperfixation (is this what it's called? I hope I used the word right) and oh dear am I losing my mind now. I need to write a story I think. About this one old guy. He's unhinged. There's so much information about him and yet not enough. I want to explore his character so much. He's definitely a criminal - at least he was one - and I'm 95% sure he can do actual real magic, and he's a musician and an artist and an actor and a magician and a philosopher and a traveler and a conman and so much more and also I think he's some kind of immortal. Maybe he just has a VERY long life. It's strongly implied he was a pirate at some point of his life. He started a cult by accident several times. My conspiracy theories about him include him being a secret god.

He's also a freaking round blue raven. Someone save me from my mind.
