that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.

This new Interpretation of Medusa in the new episode of Percy jackson, as a survivor of abuse that directs her pain, because of missing justice, against people that she associates with her abusers, shows not only how much Rick Riordan has grown as a storyteller and interpreter of mythology but also how much we as a community have grown in interpreting and understanding the deeper meaning of mythological storys and the context they were made in.

I've always wondered why the Romans think demigods all of a sudden started getting claimed? They couldn't know about Percy's deal with Olympus, so what do they think happened?

The gods were probably like "as a reward for fighting in the war we will now claim you all!"

The Romans were probably pretty proud of that.

Then like a year later this conversation happens:

Annabeth: and then after Percy made the gods promise to claim all their children-

Jason: THAT WAS YOU?!

Percy: yeah. Why did you think the god suddenly started claiming everybody?

Percy’s “I don’t think she’s like that” and Annabeth’s “He isn’t that way” are groundbreaking. Here are these two kids in the middle of this twisted situation of the gods just trying to survive and figure each other out yet they are willing to see the good in each other and know that they are better than the gods because of that kindness and optimism

Lamb came across Percy during a crusade, his attempt to distract the vessel worked but not exactly how he expected, instead of killing him Lamb brought the heretic back to the camp with them.

Percy can articulate few words (his name among them) but usually will just caw or sing. He was reluctant at first like most but found that he loves being praised for his melodies.

The remaining old ichor left him unable to fully control his own body, shaking constantly so can't work with the other followers cause of it. Used to be a summoner but lost that power, can make fire flicker if he tries hard enough though.

Percy: Dad, can I borrow the trident?

Poseidon: Sure! What do you need it for?

Percy, aside: Uhh... what do you need it for?

Percy:

Percy: Actually, you know what dad? I don't need the trident anymore.

Poseidon: I knew I could count on you to be reasonable!

Percy: What if I said I needed to get revenge on someone?
