ive recently started writing fics! i wrote a hurt/comfort and its been doing pretty well but do you have any tips for writing smut?
Realistically I think I’m okay at writing smut because I’m good at sexting? (TMI I know, but still) and sexting to me is just a running dialogue between two people
So I feel like dialogue is important in smut and people leave it out a lot but it can make scenes a lot hotter. I try to think of what someone would actually say or how they might make something more realistic instead of just outright pornographic.
As for actual sexual acts, descriptions are good. What feels good for a person, how it’s impacting them emotionally. I try to always keep a mental image in my head of what’s happening so that I can paint a clear image for the reader, otherwise they’ll be like “What position is this? His hand was where?” And it can be off putting and confusing

I have a very specific question, um I understand if it’s not exactly answerable. So I’m a new radfem but I’m struggling ideologically bc I came to this movement after being raped by a straight woman and had my bisexuality used against me as to how I “forced it”, and the ordeal left me with my long term boyfriend believing my assaulter (bc she was straight) before me, hearing my story and “forgiving” me “for cheating” and ultimately left me. so now I’m here, reading Dworkin, learning about separatism and such.
Do you know any readings/accounts or anything in general that speaks remotely on moving forward after this or just. Anything radfem that addresses anything like this. I’m sorry if this is a pointless ask, I just don’t have anyone IRL providing any insight from a radfem perspective.
i'm sorry that happened to you.
i think your situation definitely has roots in the cross between homophobia/biphobia and misogyny, but i don't think i am qualified on giving any direct advice in regards to such an incident of harm. radical feminism focuses on class oppression and collective patterns, so there can unfortunately be gaps when it comes to rarer, more complex experiences, since our focus is specifically male oppression against women.
that doesn't mean you won't receive love and support. i know there's a few radfems on here who have been sexually assaulted by a woman (though the main one i knew got termed a while ago unfortunately). often, the best thing you can do when facing situations like this is to find a group who have shared the same experiences, and learn from each other, comfort each other, and expression your experiences and feelings in a space you know is safe. with female only spaces, it virtually completely removes the possibility of fetishisation and predation in relation to revealing what happened to you, and not having that fear can help majorly with progress in healing.
radical feminism can help, but it can't solve or fix trauma from experiences of harm someone has had, and not every type of trauma or harm directly relates to feminism or male supremacy, and so i think if that's exactly what you're looking for, therapy would be much better at this current time. keep reading those radfem books though, they're full of great knowledge and can put other experiences in your life into words.

there has been more moments than i can count in the past seven months where i felt destroyed by all the death and carnage i've seen due to the colonialism and imperialism of the world. but there was something in particular about hind's death that made me think the world would stop turning bc how could anything continue given how gruesome and inhumane her death was? and yet, the world did not stop. and i thought we were once again left to remember her story only in our minds as she became another number, as her murderers went on killing unpunished, and as her mother grieved with rage when all she wanted was to keep her daughter warm and as safe as she could manage in this man-made hell on earth.
however, hind, a girl who only got to experience her kindergarten graduation, is now being immortalized in universities across the nation. her story did resonate to the masses and we will not let her be forgotten nor forgive those complicit in her death. real justice would be having hind alive, but these students are showing that they will stop the world and burn the status quo it upholds to the ground if it means her people can truly be liberated.

I wanna figure out a more solid design for his ghouls 🤔👻

Low level/continuous pain tips for writing
Want to avoid the action movie effect and make your character's injuries have realistic lasting impacts? Have a sick character you're using as hurt/comfort fodder? Everyone has tips for how to write Dramatic Intense Agony, but the smaller human details of lasting or low-level discomfort are rarely written in. Here are a few pain mannerisms I like to use as reference:
General
Continuously gritted teeth (may cause headaches or additional jaw pain over time)
Irritability, increased sensitivity to lights, sounds, etc
Repetitive movements (fidgeting, unable to sit still, slight rocking or other habitual movement to self-soothe)
Soft groaning or whimpering, when pain increases or when others aren't around
Heavier breathing, panting, may be deeper or shallower than normal
Moving less quickly, resistant to unnecessary movement
Itching in the case of healing wounds
Subconsciously hunching around the pain (eg. slumped shoulders or bad posture for gut pain)
Using a hand to steady themself when walking past walls, counters, etc (also applies to illness)
Narration-wise: may not notice the pain was there until it's gone because they got so used to it, or may not realize how bad it was until it gets better
May stop mentioning it outright to other people unless they specifically ask or the pain increases
Limb pain
Subtly leaning on surfaces whenever possible to take weight off foot/leg pain
Rubbing sore spots while thinking or resting
Wincing and switching to using other limb frequently (new/forgettable pain) or developed habit of using non dominant limb for tasks (constant/long term pain)
Propping leg up when sitting to reduce inflammation
Holding arm closer to body/moving it less
Moving differently to avoid bending joints (eg. bending at the waist instead of the knees to pick something up)
Nausea/fever/non-pain discomfort
Many of the same things as above (groaning, leaning, differences in movement)
May avoid sudden movements or turning head for nausea
Urge to press up against cold surfaces for fever
Glazed eyes, fixed stare, may take longer to process words or get their attention
Shivering, shaking, loss of fine motor control
If you have any more details that you personally use to bring characters to life in these situations, I'd love to hear them! I'm always looking for ways to make my guys suffer more write people with more realism :)

hi there! if it's ok i was wondering if i could get some advice from regarding a male coworker. i think what he's doing is pretty much straight up harrassement at this point. i am so uncomfortable whenever he comes in the room. he is a delivery driver and i work as a pizza chef. i'm 24 and this man is in his late 40s at least. he is just such a creep, grabbed me to hug me and kissed my cheek once, showed me some pics someone drew on his phone but then the next one was just a gross sexual drawing, made comments about women and how any woman can be "bought", saw i had tattoos and said i should get some on my boobs next, called me "love of his life". knows i'm vegan so always tried to make me uncomfortable talking about meat and stuff. for the past few days keeps asking me when i'm gonna marry. i finally had enough of him and said "never" and then he started saying that it's "against the law of nature" for me to never marry. what do you think i should do, this is actually harrassement right? i don't think anything will happen to him like him gettin fired because everyone already knows he's a creep but they don't have enough staff. so basically i'm thinking about how i should completely ignore him or just fight back against his comments from now on, just stop being in any way nice to him. do you by any chance any any advice about how i should proceed? ty
this is completely sexual harassment. write down any incidents you remember in as much detail as possible, round about dates possibly, the situation. and hand those notes to either your boss or your hr, if your employment has that. this is so that, no matter how your boss or hr reacts, there is a paper trail where his actions are on record. also, if he is a delivery driver with a separate company, if you feel safe to do so, report his actions to that company anonymously. if he acts like that with you, there may be other women he's doing it to, and if there aren't already complaints towards him, there may be in the future, and multiple complaints from different people are a quick way to get kicked off a service like delivery.
ask your boss if you can switch with another chef when he comes in, or if you can be out of the room when he comes in, or at the very least ask if you can have another staff in the room at the same time he is. so that, even if hr or management does nothing, there is some helpful change. though, they should do something, as he has touched you and made comments about your body, and no company wants to face legal troubles for violating equality laws (if your country has them), as companies who do not rid their environment of sexual hostility violate women's employment rights. you could also see if there is a local citizen's advice bureau, or community law service, where lawyers, usually union, give free basic advice to people.
finally, he has physically laid his hands on you. even if you feel rude for saying so, you can say something like 'please don't hug or kiss me, i am an employee, not a relative or friend, it's not professional and it makes me uncomfortable. if you do so again, i will report you'. i find that men are more likely to listen if you go at it from the 'professional' aspect first, rather than the 'don't touch women', because then they tend to minimise it. it also removes his potential defence of 'she seemed fine with it, she didn't say anything!' if hr or management does confront him.
i'm not sure how much you like that job, but perhaps also just keep an eye on job listings online and see if anything matches your skills. having a backup makes one feel more confident in advocating for themselves. maybe even applying and see if they offer a better deal than your current employment. applying doesn't mean you have to accept if they reach out to you.
