sakura pigma micron 08, 0.5mm — uniform line, waterproof, quick drying, medium juicy, dark ink, good for writing addresses on letters and messages on the backs of business cards in packages
sakura pigma professional brush pen, fine — precise yet springy tiny pointy tip, waterproof ink. good for drawing and for writing names on letters fancily. lifts a little when erased over alas but everything else is good
gold pilot metropolitan fountain pen, fine, converter installed / clear pilot kakuno, fine, brass kaweco clip installed — cheap precise fountain pens that i keep banging around in travel or letting dry out and they are A-OK. nice for fancy-feeling list making or journaling. fun for drawing but don't let your sketchbook get wet. I can't remember what ink I have in the metropolitan but the kakuno has green cartridges
pentel energel infree 0.5mm turquoise — just a pleasantly juicy gel pen
pentel twist-erase pencil 0.5mm — vintage style and big ol' replacable eraser. hard to break
pilot color eno erasable mechanical pencil in sky blue — just fun to have as an undersketch option
pentel vistage water brush, fine — mvp. ride or die. if you're doing a watercolor painting on location that's about five by five inches this is your girl
#I'm currently planning to try a different white ink pen than my usual white gel pen. so that's a Maybe#also i used to have a brush pen that was like a waterbrush filled with slightly diluted black ink and i cannot find the same again#no other high capacity brush pen has yet compared#honestly i would happily get like another four kakunos just to try to take more fountain pen inks out sketching.#i also like a generic brand pink highlighter for sketching sculptures. i lost it the other week and missed it

The Adventure of Link... my beloved.
I'm playing a fan-made remaster of Zelda 2 and I REALLY like it. Temples are different. Some backtracking involved for heart containers and magic potions (Much like in later zelda games). The world is a lot more fleshed out too.

I love the traditional look of that brush.

one of my curses is that the only hairbrush that has ever consistently worked on my (very thick) hair is, despite coming from a major company (Goody), bizarrely difficult to find -- I've never found it for sale online and I've only ever seen it in person at the Fred Meyer in my hometown. (so I currently own three, one still in the package, because again, only hairbrush that works on my hair and bizarrely difficult to find.) it is this one. I don't know why it's so hard to find. I assume it's not made anymore. it's got slightly longer, thicker bristles than any other paddle brush I've seen, presumably because it's made specifically for thick hair. (they still break occasionally, but it takes a while.)
(also if anyone somehow finds this brush you will have my undying gratitude. I will also take recommendations for replacements -- I have long, thick Asian hair -- or rather, my hair's mixed-texture, but that's more a problem for my ongoing problems dyeing it, not so much for brushing.)

#(FROM PROJECTS)#personal#the engineering chronicles#WILL HOPEFULLY NEVER NEED TO SLEEP THREE NIGHTS ON THE FLOOR OF THE ENGINEERING BUILDING AGAIN!!!#one class the final project was to build a karaoke machine which my partner and i had planned on making look like actual speakers and#microphone but we couldn’t find the stuff in time and her mom made a joke abt singing into hairbrushes and we decided to take that and#run lol we used a pink sparkly makeup box to store our circuit and cut out holes for the speakers and decorated it with makeup and put the#hairbrush mics inside and it was very fun actually and our class voted us as one of the groups to go to project day which was pretty cool!!#project day did get canceled bc of. asnow day which was unfortunate especially considering we stayed up until 4am the night before#preparing our documents for it and trying to perfect the karaoke machine when we could have been putting that time toward project number#2 😐 but whatever we still get our extra credit and i can say i qualified for it so im happy enough#then project 2 was for another class but we’re lab partners in both (+ another guy for this project) and it was digital monster pet so we#made a dragon i was mostly on design so i hand CADed the whole thing which was living hell if i never want to lay eyes on solidworks#again but also he came out very cute after MUCH hasle putting him together with all the wires and components bc our wires from the kit are#so bad they’re constantly getting disconnected from each other which we didn’t know would happen bc the labs we usually do we don’t have to#connect them together like that since you’re not routing them thru bodies etc and they’ve worked great until now but anywya.#i did the lcd faces and the light sensor and a couple other things + a lot of the code was copy and paste from past labs and fitting it to#suit the project but for the most part it was a shit ton of hardware on my end while she and the other guy managed the rest of the code#which i really wish i could have been more involved with but oh well. as it is though he’s my baby i birthed him <3 we’re planning on#meeting up over weekends next semester to change some stuff and add other extra features that we missed we got a decent grade 85% but we#all agreed we don’t want to leave him like this we want to add the extra features we had come up with and also i think we should switch out#our motors for servos bc the motors we were required to use#instead suck they’re not strong at all compared to what a servo can do for you. also we want to make it so you can not only pet him which w#already have with light sensors but also wash him with a Hall effect sensor and magnet so like we’d stick the sensor inside and the magnet#inside a little cad brush or sponge is what im envisioning and i have an expression in mind for what we’d do then. also paint him and#redesign the platform he stands on bc it’s rlly cramped and also make a pcb bc we only have him with the microcontroller and breadboards rn#and i might mess with his face piece a bit too im not sure. oh and speakers!!! those were technically a requirement but we didn’t get them#done on time but i want to make him play music sooooo bad so definitely that. anyway want to be more involved in the software when we do#all this. pretty excited actually :]

I don’t get why people feel like the Duolingo owl is threatening, if I ever feel like he is I just get mad at him. I could fight an owl. I don’t know if I’d win, but I don’t think I’d lose (two things that can apparently coexist). I think I’d survive at least and that’s not really winning but also not losing.

I’m not going to pay for Babbel yet#Babbel has Icelandic lessons too I think and that is my final boss tbh#I’ve been going from easiest for English speakers to hardest as my plan#and it turns out that I forgot how much some of my issues affect learning new languages#last time I learned another language it was Spanish and I’m not fluent but I’ve had classes and been around it for so long#that i kinda forgot what it’s like to start from scratch#I didn’t start trying to learn Norwegian until I was 26#or was it my 27th birthday? I could check my streak#I was like ‘psh. it will be harder with my disabilities. but I should be able to read. my top priority with this language’#and then I realized I had been somehow adapting to the other two languages since childhood and forgot how much I had to work around#I mean. I knew I was worse at language arts in school than I was in literature and writing. but still#I also already knew I was worse at making new sentences in other languages than I was figuring out ones that someone else made#but I thought that was just because I hadn’t used Spanish much for several years now#every time I try to re-learn Spanish it just ends up with me being able to figure out what someone said to me but not how to answer#if i brushed up on it again i could probably have a conversation with someone who understood English but better spoke Spanish#someone with the same problem as me but reversed language wise#please don’t take this as me saying I could currently have an entire conversation with someone speaking Spanish#I’m better than someone who never learned it and didn’t encounter it’s use a lot. but I really don’t think I could have a real conversation#not at the moment at least#I have been meaning to brush up on Spanish again too. there are at least real classes in my area for it and not just an app#the last time there were Norwegian classes around here my dad was in college and old people still spoke it#no one around here speaks it anymore

The chronic pain has been so fucking bad lately
#And usually colder weather is easier on me idfk#Had a full blown panic attack that my beloved saw...#Not the funnest of times.#But yeah its getting so bad I don't know how much longer I can just. Work. In general#I wish I could take a walk and bring my cat along because she loves being in a harness and going outside#I wish I could swim in the summer#I wish I could go a day without pain shooting through half of my body and I have to brush it off & any thoughts of it being a heart attack#I'm so fucking tired these days#I need to do so many things still. I have comms from months ago I still need to do. I feel like I can't hardly work on art#Without having a full blown meltdown because I've lost so much skill over the years#I've watched my life slowly deteriorate in regards to my health and every result from doctors come back as average or exceptional#Idfk what to do any more#I turned in disability papers in MAY and its still months away from being fully processed l#And is likely to get a no from the first time l#How do I survive another year like this. This past one nearly killed me#I desperately need help and I have no idea where to find it#My poor girlfriend has been getting a short straw for a while regarding how we split payments and god I wish I could#Do so much more. She deserves comfort and so do I.

Me, today, waking up with a swollen and painful mouth infection:
#im in too much pain to find a better react#im so fucking tired#when will life stop throwing me multiple curveballs?? i dont even know how to juggle!!#im just getting hit in the face with each curveball. and it feels like it today too holy shit#im in the middle of teeth alignments for treating my tmj pain idk how im gonna go thru another root canal#my first root canal was only preceeded by hot/cold sensitivity. it never got swollen or hot#im so exhausted man. at least the regular dentist can see me today and hopefully give me antibiotics#im on immunosuppressants so i was crying this morning like damn im gonna have to go to the er for this i wont survive the weekend#im so upset tho it took me forever to fill my last prescription. so dont jinx it but i might still need to keep that er plan on hold#the good thing ab that tho is my back mri is tomorrow which is at the local er so i can do the mri and walk right over if needed#i just dont understand how this could happen i brush and floss after everything i eat or drink (so at least 3 times a day. thoroughly.)#bad genetics and stress strikes again i guess#vent#Cori.exe#Post.exe#god and i spent the last 2 days stress picking my face too so i look ROUGH right now#everything sucks lol#its right over where my wisdom tooth would have been too so like. way back there. im gonna be drinking soup for weeks#rip coris jaw. never had a chance

ik most people on this website love to complain about dating and apps or whatever being like awkward or forced relationships and that can be true, like dating is for sure awkward, especially app dating, but also??? hot take i think it's fun. getting to know someone and discovering that u like them is fun. god knows ive been on plenty of shitty dates but when you go on one and it goes well?? you get the first date banter going??? and then you come home excited about where it's gonna go??? that's fucking amazing im sorry, i just can't relate to anyone who says they hate dating as a concept

On my full comptuer screen it is SOOO easy to spot ai art#like IMMEDIATELy from the little tells and ways certain details morph into each other etc. I dont even mean obvious dalle mini stuff but#like the Fancy High Quality Photorealistic AI art is still pretty blatant 98% of the time if you know what to look for. But I still catch#people sharing it a lot like 'omg where can I buy this pair of shoes!! :O <3' .. erm you cannot.. that is the most balatantly fake looking#pair of shoes I have seen in my life hhjbj.. the heels are both different heights. there's a different number of straps on each one. etc.#AND that phase back before colored hair was Mainstream and people would post photos like 'omg going to bring this to the salon!! dream hair#and it's like.. you can LITERALLY see the parts where it's 'colored outside of the lines' and is so clearly just a person with blond hair#that someone drew over with a tint brush or something not even very neatly. etc. etc. ANYWAY.. Maybe with phones it's harder to tell these#things?? To me so much of it is instantly recognizable and it's suprising to me that people either don't notice or don't care and will#interact with it anyway by buying the product or acting like some ai art fake furniture is real or etc. etc. ..hewwoo#Aslo sidenote - I think I've become soo cynical and tired of constantly being advertised to that I literally cannot shop without getting#exhausted. I do not see how marketing is anything but obnoxious and transparent. Every item description having stuff like ''Our company is#commited to bringing you the highest quality water products! we set out with a mission to bring high quality products to people all over#the world and we believe in spreading health and happiness and'' just like SHUT THE HELL UP!! youre a fucking company#you don't ''beleive'' in anything you are here to sell a product. stop trying to talk like you're my bff who cares deeply about my health#or something just tell me the materials and product specifications of your stupid fucking water bottle and move on. Idont need to hear your#whole bullshit spiel about what ~your company stands for~ that is SO much MORE offputting. you make me want to buy the item LESS..#longing for the type of ads from my 1800s magazines that are just like 'this product is good. please buy it. okay thank you much. bye'

full disclosure, I heavily referenced a pic of a pile of cheese from Google. And I only used a plushie I got today as reference for Plagg lol
#my art#miraculous ladybug#miraculous plagg#hipaint#i think medibang was holding me back i mean i have access to all these different tools with hipaint that medibang would never have#why cant i put in hex codes on medibang???#thats such a basic feature yet they decide “no lets make the app even more unusable with constant ads”#like ad 1 opening the canvas ad 2 fills the screen a few seconds after the canvas opens ad 3 through 59 whenever you save#an additional ad when you try to wxit the canvas and sometimes it dosent even exit and i have to sit through two fucking ads to exit#and then another ad when you try to export the image#with hipaint i get maybe one ad opening the app and then its chill#i was so hesitant to find another app to use for drawing because i didnt want to learn a whole new program and id rather suffer than change#but hipaint is so easy to learn imo?? and its so fun to just fuck around with brushes and tools and stuff#i sound like an ad lmao
