#poorly drawn odyssey #the odyssey #odysseus #penelope #epic the musical #Epic's version was very sweet and very well executed (and so cathartic!)#But Odyssey Penelope is *so* done with all the bullshit at this point in the story.#Credit where it is due; at this point she's been through a lot.#And to top if all off - her own son and one of the few maids on her side are buying into this (supposed) ruse.#This cannot have been the only time someone tried to pull this trick on her either.#Its the contrast between: 'Oh you're My husband?' and 'Ohh *sureeee* you're my husband. Just like the 30 other 'Odys' before you.'#The olive tree bed trick is a great gambit because it really is the final test to verify his identity.#I'm just a sucker for couples who have a secret only they know between them I suppose!#The match each other in will and wit! They will always find each other!!!#Anyways. The Odyssey is a worthwhile read and I highly recommend it. Epic is also a great musical worth checking out.

#sebek zigvolt #kalim al asim #jamil viper #lilia vanrouge #kalim is a first year in this AU because he didn't enroll until sebek was invited (it still involved bribery obv.)#theyre roommates and it's awful. they had two other roommates at first but the other two requested to move dorm rooms #because sebek kept putting them in headlocks for stepping over the imaginary line demarcating kalim's quarter of the room #jamil is determined to be completely on top of his job because his parents have been complaining about lilia for years #and if this how do you do fellow kids shithead does a better job of being malleus's right hand than him he will fucking wither and die #he has 100% passive aggressively brought up maleanor's death to lilia while malleus was out of earshot. at least twice #he fucking HATES silver. silver can beat him in a fight and he cannot deal with it at all. like he's WAY more steamed about it than sebek #i think in this AU's version of spectral soiree jamil spent the entire time trying to get silver lost for ever in the ghost dimension

Hi it's just to let you know that the official romanization of Revaan's name is Raverne ! Also they have romanized Baul's name to Baur !

Twst coming back at us again with the least expected romanization! thank you everybody (oh god my inbox) (no it's great, I literally asked for this and the reactions have been INCREDIBLE, thank you all!)

I do like Raverne though, I think it's got a nice fancy sound to it! (I had kinda suspected it was going to be an R instead of an L, so the fact that it's SO close to Laverne except for that is hilarious to me personally.) and Dragoneye Duke is honestly probably the best translation for his title, I wasn't envying the localizers that one. :') Baur instead of Baul I was NOT expecting, but in retrospect I think his name's supposed to be a reference to the Bauru crocodile, so that actually makes way more sense!

someone else also said Meleanor has become Maleanor, which is the REALLY weird one to me, because I was so surprised it was written as Mel instead of Mal in the first place?! oh god no I can't decide which one I like better. 😭 (I wonder if they might change it to Mal...they have made romanization changes before) (like I remember House of Distraction being corrected to House of Destruction in Playful Land) (I did check and she's still Mel for now, but I dunno, they might Mal her up and some point and save me from having to make a decision about which one to use) (HECK I CAN'T DECIDE)

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #lan wangji #jin guangyao #qin su #The parallels to the mulderskully comic were genuine scripting coincidences that I kept in for the irony.#wwx and mulder both have a strong need to show their beloved (investigation) partner the cool thing they just found.#Much to their chagrin and concern.#For as much of a mess the plot gets in The Untamed...one of the things it does probably the best of all adaptions is setting up JGY.#specifically how we spend time getting to know him as a *Regular Guy* around our deuteragonists' age.#I love how he's present in the cloud recess arc! I was rooting for him as a character! The twist villain reveal felt so heartbreaking!#Here in the audio drama (for as much as it does well) we pretty much get 2 scenes tops with this guy before he's villain monologuing.#before this we know him as 1) the guy NMJ yelled at a lot 2) a suspect 3) leader guy Jin Ling was partially raised by.#The elements are there but but not with any particular depth to make him...interesting (in this version).#Sure we get to learn more after the fact but it just falls so flat in comparison B*/#ohhhh noooo the guy we are pretty sure killed a guy is gaslighting his wife and has a secret torture chamber. And he's a politician.#not much of a mystery to it all innit.#Feel free to disagree or bring up differing points btw; I love media analysis convos and this truly is just my opinion.
