The fact that linnell said he was shocked by how effeminate he was in gigantic watching it back is just really so so funny to me he really was sitting there in the theater watching himself on screen sitting there daintily cross legged one wrist delicately dangling over the arm of the chair the other limply hanging by his face and was just like. Wow okay
#im stuck on this again beecause i had forgotten he said that until vimbry posted about it the other day and then rewatching gigantic i kept#thinking about it#i actually do get what he means that hes like ive always just thought of myself as sort of me and then being surprised at how his mannerism#actually come accross but sorry it is also just really funny to me#like you never noticed

Ok ok ok...
It's been almost 18 years since it aired, but who cares I'm talking about it anyway.
I've seen a lot of people hating on Cyberwoman. And yeah, I understand why. That costume choice was, er, quite something. But it's still my favourite episode and yk why? The build up. The plotline. And most of all the acting. Oh my god the acting. My favourite scene has got to be the tourist office, because oh my days have you seen the way Gareth David Lloyd plays Ianto? It gives me chills. After watching it, I rewatched Everything Changes and Ghost Machine because I never actually noticed Ianto in them, unless he's speaking. The only time you ever see him is when he intentionally draws attention to himself, which he rarely does. I watched them again, specifically focusing on Ianto. He's barely in them. He's one of the main 5 characters, but in the first three episodes he has one of the most minor roles. Like, you see him let Gwen into the Hub, delete the stuff she typed to make herself remember and see him introduced. That's it for episode one. And yes, everyone has a minor role in that, but you never actually see him as part of the team. He works alone, always.
Episode three really highlights that for me. He appears every so often with a funny comment. He has less screen time than Rhys. If it wasn't for the fact that I was actively thinking about him, I would have completely forgotten that he was there. One of his rare appearances really got to me - the ending. Jack gives him the ghost machine to put in the secure archives. That's normal, the archives are his area.
Except Jack doesn't even look at him. He just holds it out, like Ianto is a servant, not someone with years of experience dealing with aliens. Ianto worked at Torchwood One. He was the most qualified of anyone on that team when each of them joined. Owen was medically trained, but no experience with aliens. Tosh was a genius, but she had only experienced aliens through wrong blueprints of their technology, plus a charge of treason. Gwen had police training, nothing more. She got a job by being stubborn, and in the right place at the right time. Jack was reckless, dangerous, and did not want to join Torchwood. He only did it because he needed to do something in the 100+ years that he would be waiting for the Doctor.
Ianto had everything taken from him all at once, and nobody bothered to check on him. He looked fine, so they didn't give it any more thought. They of all people should know that that's not how it works. Ianto was repressing his grief, exhausting himself with the amount he worked both at his job and caring for Lisa. He never had any desire to cause anyone any harm. He was blinded by overwhelming grief. When humans experience loss, the automatic reaction is to cling to what you have. For most people, that means reaching out to friends and family, creating a support system. Ianto lost all his friends, all at once. We don't hear about his family until S3 (goddamn S3), but it's implied that they aren't close. I haven't listened to any of the audios, so if there's more to it than that then I don't know it.
Ianto had nothing, except an echo pretending to be Lisa. He did the most natural thing in the world, clung to what he had. Or at least, what he thought he had. Don't blame Ianto for the events of Cyberwoman. His actions correlate with normal reactions to grief. Yes, his actions were extreme. But so was his grief.
#ianto#ianto jones#cyberwoman#torchwood#im going insane#he's my baby boy#he does no wrong#he was the greatest guy around#idk im spiralling#i love this episode so much it hurts#like give it a chance#ignore the costume for a minute#did you see the look in his eyes?#that's first class acting#that's what you're missing

First Teen Wolf Rewatch (2)
We'll start season 6 tonight (can't wait for the Thiam scenes), but first I wanted to share a few thoughts about season 5.
They're not often in the same scenes, but this one...
You have no idea how much you will actually love Liam later, Theo! ^^ (And at some point Liam will obviously have much less violent ideas of what to do to Theo.)
This is still the funniest line of the season:
And of course what Stiles says here was basically what we thought the first time (just more funnily put)...
... but now it's more like "Theo! âĄ" (I wonder how we managed not to notice how pretty is eyes are until we saw pictures later. We don't have very good eyesight but we do wear glasses to read the subtitles so... Anyway, Theo's eyes are very pretty. And so are Liam's but that, we had noticed on his first episode.) It doesn't change that he was horrible to everyone in this season, but knowing what happens in the next one makes a big difference.
Something funny we had forgotten:
Love Liam and Mason's friendship, by the way. It almost makes me feel like I shouldn't headcanon Liam as bi because it ruins the "proof" that a straight guy can be best friends with a gay one and have absolutely zero problem with it. But of course I just can't resist shipping Thiam.
And bi the way, I had either forgotten this too or not even noticed who it was at all the first time we watched:
Sent to my sister the next day:
On a totally unrelated note, the way French characters speak in the BĂȘte du GĂ©vaudan story is, to these two native French speakers, an interesting mix of hilarious (we were literally laughing out loud at almost every line), weird (considering that it makes no sense to have them speak with an accent when they're supposed to speak French), embarrassing (because we know there are many English words we can't pronounce correctly, so we must sound terrible too when we try) and... much clearer than everything else in the show (no need to read the subtitles in those scenes - for once, we could catch every word easily).

I didnt even notice the body language in these streams theres something rlly funny about cdream leaping up and down
No kidding, I forgot until I was rewatching the finales the other day, just how much Dream is moving. Like Punz is just standing there meanwhile Dream is bouncing around lol XD.
Honestly, I interpret it as the Minecraft representation of ADHD stimming, fidgeting and needing to move since itâs not like that can be shown in Minecraft⊠And itâs something I like to highlight in my fanfics that Punz knows something is really wrong when Dream isnât moving for once.
âWhy?â Dream wonders, his tone dropping all previous emotion and going completely level as he stands there rigid and unmoving. He looks oddly scared. Not just shocked but scared like a snake is crawling up his spine and heâs waiting tensely for it to squeeze him to death. Itâs not a look Punz thought heâd see on Dream. Ever. And he hates it. [Ch 5, Musical Chairs]
{opps, I might have forgotten I had this ask sitting in my drafts before seeing dr3âs post [here] about Dream mannerisms ;D}
#and yes before someone comment about adhd does not mean people canât sit still. I am very aware. I have adhd and having no problems doing s#it does look different in people though of course and a couple of my adhd friends hate even just sitting through a movie#so it is a stereotype but it isnât completely I true⊠as with most things itâs just not true across the board ;)#c!dream#hello there#no one does it like c!dream#dsmp#dreblr#lore thoughts#let me cook#dsmp finale#& since some speculate that people with adhd are autistic or at least they are often together it does add to my case for autistic c!dream#autistic c!dream#(âdamn my typos the app wonât let me edit without rewriting the whole tag đ€Šââïž)

Damn, I remember the first time I watched FMA 03, when I was 16 or 17, I stayed up until 1 am to finish it, and today, watching episodes 38 through 42 turned me into such an emotional mess that I have to take a break lmao what happened??? My own emotional traumas, that's what happened
I'm feeling so many things again
In episode 38, when Ed and Al are fighting, Al drenches Ed in water and he says "it's going to rain!!!" and I'm like haha no don't try to pull a Mustang on me I know this episode won't make me cry and GUESS WHAT the flashback with Trisha convincing Ed to go and find Al so they can talk things out and Al looking so happy that Ed isn't upset with him anymore it's so cute I CRIED
I need -- no, I DEMAND a spin-off series where Winry and Scziezka solve murder mysteries together (I'd love to write it myself but I know I'm not nearly good enough at coming up with mystery stories lol), they're adorable I'm so happy they totally get together post CoS
Martel's death hits SO MUCH HARDER than I remembered holy shit, she and Al actually got close, we see more of her, her death is so horrific and hearing sweet sweet baby boy Alphonse cry just BROKE MY HEART I never wanted to hug an armor so badly
Scar's brother's last moments, the way he looks so terrified and desperate to protect his little brother from Kimblee and Scar being so devastated when he dies I just-- *clenches fist*
Sloth using Ed's PTSD against him that's so UNFAIR; also I was thinking that I was a bit disappointed that this anime did not include the nightmare that Ed has at some point in the manga where he sees his mom saying "why didn't you make me right" etc but this is it, this is this scene, and it's worse because he's hearing it for real, he is very much awake, he has the real voice of his mom in his ears and she's saying this to him and I'm-- *clenches fist harder*
Rose's story, I'm still so mad, she deserves all the happiness in the world
Speaking of Rose, it's so funny how the moment Al is like "I wonder how Rose is doing" the show just full on goes "Ed/Rose shipper" mode lmao, with Ed blushing while pretending not to remember her, him being so awkward when he speaks to her just before they go on their separate ways and her son just smiling and giggling when he speaks (first time we see the baby laugh, he had only been crying up until then) :') To be honest it feels a bit out of the blue to me but idk
Dante sporting Lyra's white ass in the town of brown people and speaking as if she was part of them just because she's following Rose around to manipulate her is incredibly cringe, but then again, it's Dante, she's the villain and we're already supposed to know something is up with "Lyra". But still.
Very random but Al pulling objects from or putting objects inside his armor from behind the cloth always looks very awkward lol
I used to never really care about Scar but I have learned the errors of my way as I now realize he is actually one of the best characters in this goddamn series, even with the orb of knowledge and the three arm losses, and Mangahood!Scar being much more villainized and ending up working with the military will never come even CLOSE to 03!Scar using his last bit of strength to save Alphonse to honor his love for his lost brother and take his ultimate revenge on those who murdered his people in the goal of protecting oppressed people, all of this while an epic music is playing (honestly it even feels like Ed is made to be seen as an obstacle as he tries to prevent the soldiers from entering Liore lol)
Sorry but Wrath is annoying as hell, I know that I'll probably have a different opinion if I rewatch CoS after that, but for now I hate him
We're finally entering the "Rewrite" era of the show and I had forgotten how much it rocks (Ed's hair animation at the beginning fhjkfhkdhjk)
I only have 9 episodes left but between Lust and Sloth in the upcoming episodes I'm not even sure I'll be able to watch it all in one go lol. Still excited to see more of Winry and Scziezka and remembering how much Hohenheim is absolutely useless in this x)
#fma#fma03#fma 03#fullmetal alchemist#fullmetal alchemist 2003#nore rewatches fma#it's so funny I thought I already knew I loved this series#I even feared that rewatching it would actually disappoint me#but actually I think I love it even more now#at the ripe age of 34 I'm happy to see I still enjoy and relate to it a lot#I even learn to love characters I had never really cared about before#like Rose and Scar#and as an equivalent exchange now I despise Izumi lol#but hey people grow and learn and change#that's literally one of the themes of the series so it fits

I'm rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood cause it's been literally a decade since I've watched it.
So cheers, I have a reaction thread (because I'm a sentimental bitch)
Episode 1:
God, I've forgotten how it immediately just got to the action in the first episode. Like, it set up everything and gave a glimpse of nearly all important character.
Poor Isaac, was probably manipulated, but ultimately led himself to his own demise. Very bold though.
And god, I think I was too depressed at the time of watching it, but the Eldric brother's backstory was so painful with that small glimpse.
Episode 2:
I cannot for the life of me understand why this shit didn't affect me as much as it should've as a kid. It might've depression that numbed my emotions, but I guess we'll never know.
Anyway, my point is, this is is traumatizing, and that's me saying this as an adult. The backstory and the short glimpses of the mom, as well as the clear love and dedication they had for her? The way that Ed didn't even hesitate to try and find more truth? The way he dragged himself, bleeding leg and all, to the armor to shove it down, and connect his brothers soul to it???
And god, the way I just kept whisper-shouting when they came to recruit him, cause I didn't remember shit, going-
But man, as someone is is now so much older than Ed is in the anime, they make him act a kid. A very smart, powerful and purposeful kid, but a kid nonetheless. He's so young and you can just feel it in the little things he does. He does not have his shit together and is still figuring some shit out.
Episode 3:
I love the comedy this anime has. It has the funny little pauses and the interuption of what should be serious moments without ruining the actual serious moments.
It is exactly my cup of tea, with a silly joke that just poked fun at a kid or being, well. A kid. He's small, and that joke may remind He's small but I can also remind you that he is so much younger than his peers.
I am an atheist so I do have the same kinda mindset about God that Edward has. Rose has this sort of annoying mindset of God and his priests being this answer to all suffering and anyone who disagrees will suffer divine Punishment. It is frustrating at the start.
But I can fully understand where she's coming from by the end. She clung onto this hope, this prayer that someone she loved so much will eventually be revived. Rose then meets the brothers who lost someone they loved, and tried to being back as well. She saw the consequences and felt terrified. But she spent so long just clinging onto this hope that she desperately wants it to be true. So she argues, trying to convince herself that Cornella was telling the truth and she didn't waste so long praying for something that didn't exist.
People can find comfort in the idea of God(s). The idea that there is someone looking after everyone and offering guidance is reassuring for some.
That was not Rose's situation.
Rose's situation is more akin to having a loved one suffering from a terminal disease and convincing yourself that prayers and God will be able to do what science could not. You can not pray for the impossible. You can pray for hope, for guidance or for even a fast recovery. But you need to understand that even if you wish for something impossible, you cannot spend your life wasting away on these prayers and refuse to do anything else.
Rose needed to stop clinging in general because she was clinging on to something impossible that compelled her to try and attempt awful things. She needed to learn to stand on her own. Maybe she could one day find hope in God again, but it wouldn't be anytime soon.
Man, I went on a rant there.
Anyway, I just wanted to type all that put because my mind just felt like analysing for a bit.
I forgot what the philosopher stone even did until now. I remembered that it was powerful but I that was about it. Now I remember, it was shit about defying the rule of absolute equivalence.
I am kinda happy I forgot majority of the lore of this anime, it makes it fun to put all the pieces together again as an adult who can process things and analyse better.
Episode 4:
This hurts.
This hurts so much. They were so happy, and acting like actual kids. They played all sorts of games with Nina and Alexander. It was so bright. They were so bright.
But Tucker, the motherfucker, only saw what he was bound to lose instead of what he had. He tried to work his way through it, but eventually just gave up.
My heart sank when I heard him ask Nina to play the next day. It broke even more when heard Nina say, in that voice that doesn't belong to a kid, "onii-chan".
He sacrificed everything just to save his title pf State Alchemist. He gave up his wife and then his daughter and the respect of these kids.
God, I hate him. I understand him and his desperation and I hate him.
Scar is back though. We love scar man. He's weird but core to the story and has every right to hate State Alchemists.
Again, when I was a kid, I didn't feel much. This episode never hit me as hard as it does now. Back then, I though the Eldric brothers were being dramatic about the whole thing.
Now it just strikes me so hard how fucked up it wad to be willing to experiment on your own kid for a stupid title. To mutate her into an existence that was nothing like her human one.
Brotherhood didn't make it blatantly, but it was mentioned time and again, just how painful it was to be a chimera in the original. Nina was in pain and Tucker knew this.
I fully understand why this hurt the Eldric brothers so much now. That was horrid. And to be able to even see a semblance of yourself in that was painful.
#fma brotherhood#fmab#reaction time#reaction thread#fma#maybe spoilers?#idk this is an old anime#this is on you if you haven't watched it yet but plan on it

10 Fandoms, 10 Characters, 10 Tags
Hi hi, I was tagged for this tag game by @robo-dino-puppy ages ago!! Like... literal months ago now. I'm so sorry, I didn't realize how long it had been, I hope you don't mind me getting to it now if it's not too awkward! I really do appreciate the tag a lot, thank you!!! :D I still wanted to do this for fun even if I'm terribly late đ
(I'm not gonna try to make this a list of my favorite characters because I'm so bad at making decisions lol but instead here's some characters I wanna give some much needed appreciation to!)
1) Kuon Ichinose (Persona 5 Strikers)
Of course there's another P5 character deserving of this spot, but I chose Ichinose because she's been on my mind again and she's so underappreciated! She's perfect and I won't hear any criticism towards her â€ïž I played P5S for her. Don't get me wrong, I was very happy to see the PTs again and it was fun to meet the Monarchs. But mostly. I knew I was gonna like her. All my friends knew I was gonna like her. No one was surprised. I'm getting dragged off stage before I can keep rambling on-
2) Sylens (Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West)
My favorite old man... He is just so funny. And interesting! I want to know his backstory, where he came from, why he is the way he is. He did all of that, but did you not have fun? Did you not learn about the power of friendship? Exactly, relax. He's good at comments and quips. Ladies love comments and quips, and they go nuts for asides. And since I made a CXGF reference, on that note-
3) Valencia PĂ©rez (Crazy Ex Girlfriend)
One of my favorite characters even in a cast full of amazing, memorable characters that rarely misses! I'm obsessed with her homoerotic rivals-to-friends arc with Rebecca btw. I still think they should have kissed. Uhhh I mean, they did kiss, that was a significant thing that happened, I just think they should've kissed again in a different context. I have opinions on that and on Valencia's (and pretty much everyone else's) season 4 arc but I'll spare you for now â€ïž
4) Amity Blight (The Owl House)
I know, I know, not to say what everyone else and their mothers have already said about it but this is the kinda show that makes me wish I had had it while I was growing up. I like basically the entire main cast, but I chose Amity because I really can't tell you how much of an emotional rollercoaster her arc was for me. But I love her and of course her relationship with Luz absolutely killed me.
5) Toph Beifong (Avatar the Last Airbender)
When I came on here and said I had finally watched ATLA I was waitinggggg for someone to ask me who my favorite character was. But you know what they say, when you're an adult you don't stop having a favorite character but people do stop asking đđ Not really that much to say, though! I just enjoy it when she's onscreen ^^
6) Lake (Infinity Train)
It's so hard to choose just one favorite from this show. I didn't even realize I had forgotten how much I loved everyone until I started rewatching it with Sol (especially Atticus, Amelia, Grace, and Lake though ïżœïżœïżœ). Anyways here's Lake "I am a person I'm not Tulip I'm not foil I'm not reflection I'm not a sliver I'm not a null I'm not any of the hundreds of names everyone wants to give me" they/them nonbinary icon
7) Miles Morales (Into and Across the Spiderverse)
What can I say that hasn't already been said before? â€ïž ITSV is one of my favorite movies (long overdue for a rewatch tbh) and Miles is just such an amazing character all around. I've said it before, but, even with all of the spider people in ATSV, he was still the highlight to me! He deserves the world, I'll kick Miguel's ass if necessary, idc.
8) Fabiola Torres (Never Have I Ever)
My daughter... I'm so sad that she suffers from the protagonist's best friend syndrome :( She's even wearing star pajamas in the gif, she's just like me fr! Except she's a genius! Her best friend is a robot! She's so cute and earnest ;-; I would watch a show all about her â€ïž Even if her arcs don't get as explored as I would like, I love her interactions with the other characters and I especially connected to her arc about feeling alienated from the queer community.
9) Constance Blackwood (Ride the Cyclone)
Also my daughter â€ïž The highlight of RTC to me, without a doubt!! Her monologue really hit me right in the heart... She's just like me fr fr! She deserves so much better. She's everything. And her toxic homoerotic friendship with Ocean is very real, it's happening right now somewhere near you.
10) Shahara Hasan (Bodies)
It's been a while since I watched this show so I'm not as desperate to talk about it anymore, but it really did make me so incredibly insane while I was watching it, trust me. Anyways, never have I been more sure that a character suffered more than Jesus and I don't say that lightly. Her trying her best to sympathize with Elias and nearly getting through to him broke my heart... Tragedy enjoyers when some horrible fucked up guy absolutely shatters the one person who reached out to save him, ig.
Tagging: I'm not gonna make it to ten tags lol. I'm tagging @meep-m33p, @soliscital, @woolmasterleel, and @inkpens-coffee, but absolutely no pressure to do it of course!! Also, to anyone else who wants to do this, feel free to tag me as your tagger!!
#tagged for me#ramble#personal#long post#undescribed#gif#p5s#hzd#hfw#cxgf#toh#atla#itsv#atsv#nhie#rtc

1/2 Yeah, those final pages were really sweet. They may or may not have made me tear up a little xD And before that I also thought it was sweet how they brought back that little kid who can throw plates from his hair. I immediately recognized him as the kid from the start of the liberation war arc. Back then I remember thinking his design was too distinct and wondering if Horikoshi had something in store for him or if he had just forgotten about him. Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised
I admit I didn't recognize him when I first read it, but yeah, it's nice to see a callback like that. I also forgot the basement kid who Granny helped had appeared prior to that. And the only reason that I noticed the reappearance of The Funny Looking Guy (who talks with Deku in the first few minutes of the first episode) was because my brother and I had just rewatched that episode. Clearly, I have an eye for the recurring extras. XD
2/2 I have however seen a lot of people who didn't like Deku being a teacher and waiting so long to be a hero again. They used to accuse Deku of being a nepo baby cause his quirk was a "handout" from all might and now they're doing it again cause he waited years until he was given another handout (the suit) to resume his hero work. I feel like those criticisms are disingenous though so I try not to engage
Deku-
-is a nepo baby-
-despite All Might not knowing Deku prior to a demonstration of his character and being completely unrelated to him.
Yeah, 'disingenuous' might even be understating it.

4/1 Blog Post
âKimi No Na Waâ or âYour Nameâ is my favorite movie of all time. I could just sit there and rewatch it as much as possible. From the visuals to the OST, this movie is absolutely gorgeous. If we didnât have it already have it assigned to us to watch, I would have requested it for every class pick. Every frame of the movie can serve as a wallpaper and I commend the animators for creating something so beautiful. Ever since I watched this movie, I have listened to the songs and even background music on repeat. Mitsuhuaâs theme is a particular favorite of mine and it merges so well with the âKatawaredokiâ song, as they play in similar keys. Thereâs a sense of loneliness when listening to Mitsuhuaâs theme as she is constantly being separated from someone she cares about. For both her and Taki, they forget about what happens every time they switch bodies, but their feelings for one another transcend time. While there are romantic aspects to it, it is more of the deep bond and connection they have to one another due to their fate being tied to one another. Even though they live at different times, they maintain this connection and desire to find one another, which leads to the eventual meeting with Mistuhua and Taki (years before the meteor strike), and her giving him the âred string of fateâ ties them to one another in the future to prevent the deaths that the meteor caused.
The Katawaredoki scene is probably one of the most iconic parts of the movie. Fora climax point of the story, it is calming. During twilight, the two times merge and Taki and Mistuhua finally meet one another. A lot of peopleget frustrated with the fact that Taki had written âI love youâ on Mitsuhuaâs hand as opposed to his name, but it makes sense. She would have forgotten his name as the body switches to them are like fleeting dreams and it probably would have gotten erased, similar to the notes they had left on each otherâs phones. However, since he had written âI love youâ instead, he left her with a feeling instead, which cannot be erased. In the time skip, Taki had felt like something was missing throughout his life and we can assume that Mitsuhua had felt the same way up until they finally see each other once again in the final scene.
There is a lot more than can be said about this movie, but it is a little funny how we go from Penguindrum (a story about fate) to Your Name, which uses fate as a storytelling tool as well, but (in my opinion) in a more cohesive way.
This made me also regret not recommending âA Silent Voiceâ for any of the class picks week.

I just remembered the weirdest thing.
So I was just watching Hercules again, cause I felt like it. And I suddenly remembered something as I saw Hercules adoptive father. See, he made me remember that at one point as a child I was absolutely convinced he and a character in a game was the same person.
I had forgotten this cause it was so long ago and normally I do not think much about these games. But recently I have and so the memory came back to me again.
I mean look at these fuckers.
Same darn hat. Same oddly shaped beard. Hell even same build. Both even have their ribs showing - something I couldn't remember until rewatching the movie today.
It's funny to look back on but honestly... yeah no I can sorta see where I got the idea from.
Fun fact I just learned cause I got curious... both the game and the movie was made in 1997. Same year too. Weird how things are sometimes.
#why was Hercules' dad a fisherman in atlantis? don't ask questions.#it made perfect sense to like 4ish year old me ok.#honestly maybe i was even younger but yeah.#this was just really funny to me. the weird shit you believed as a kid...#ryder speaking#ryder shares#fav#cause i will want to randomly find this again later and laugh at the idea again ok.

Getting to know your BL mutuals - 2022 Edition
Simple, answer the questions. @ some people. Include the tag 'g2ky BL mutuals 2022' on your post so we can find everyone's answers!
What has been the BL that took you by surprise this year?
Big Dragon, I like it way more than I thought I would from the trailer and the first episode. It wasn't really on my radar. God damn are they making my emotions swing from 'this guys is an idiot I can't stand him' to 'I just want to pet him, pathetic meow, meow'. Except for Park and Pong I adore them all the time.
Also Secret Crush on You. Another that wasn't on my radar. The first episode rubbed me up the wrong way and I thought I'd hate the stalker storyline but by god does Billy and Seng have some great chemistry and give it depth to pull it off. Plus the storyline evolved and covered so many topics/themes. First times, body confidence, bullying, gender identity, questioning stereotypical roles in a relationship.
What has been the BL that you felt a bit disappointed with this year?
I normally am a pretty good judge of if I will like it from the trailer so I don't get massively disappointed when watching. Strangely enough, it's not that a feel disappointed with War of Y but I'm not in love with it like I thought I would be. It's good and the chemistry between the actors is great and yet I'm not 100% connecting with it. Fingers crossed for the 4th and last story as it was the one I was waiting for.
Even Sun. Now I adore BounPrem with all my heart but this series had so many things wrong with it. And it was frustrating because I could see glimpses of the good there, Prem was funny as Sun and some of the Bounprem moments were great. But there were too many characters, they should have focused on the one couple, and the translations were so bad that the storyline didn't always make sense (I saw a better translation at a later date and the storyline was so much better!) But overall the writing was abysmal.
What has been your favourite BL this year?
How do I choose one? Seriously? It can't be done. In no particular order. Kinnporsche, Love in the Air, Semantic Error. I reserve the right to add Between Us at a later date! I can and will rewatch all of these numerous times.
Favourite BL couples (not just of 2022)?
So, soooooo many!
Wangxian, Payurain, Vegaspete, Akkayan, Jaeyoung/Sangwoo, Winteam, Wenzhou, Seanwhite, Gao Shide/Zhou Shuyi, Jack/Zhao Zi.
You know looking at this list I think I have a type!
If you had to suggest a BL for someone what would it be?
It's kinda dependent on what they are after.
Love in the Air, Kinnporsche, Not Me, Until We Meet Again, Between Us, History3: Trapped, Plus and Minus, Bad Buddy. (Yes I know not all of them are from this year!)
But if they were newbies I'd suggest maybe starting with the Korean BL's like Semantic Error, Roommates of Poongduck 304 and Choco Milk Shake. They are just kinda fluffy with good storylines and are often comedic.
What's your non-BL favourite for this year?
I have two and I would recommend them to everyone!
Thailand's 'Mama Gogo' made me laugh all the way through plus I loved the Older woman/Younger man relationship between Annie and Chen.
Korea's 'Love and Leashes' which again I'm pretty sure Jung Ji Hoo is supposed to be a younger man to Jung Ji Woo's slightly older woman. Their portrayal of a woman discovering her inner Dom was wonderful. Also seeing a submissive man be confident, for the most part, in his submissiveness was refreshing.
So who wants to go next? Tag as many or as few people as you want.
@fluidsoul31 @kwonzoshi @kdrama-mama @introvertedkeni @lutawolf @tehkatie @negrowhat @massxhysteria @jynxed13 @littleswirlofblue @prapaiwife @prapais @piningbisexuals @piningintrovert @buildjakapan @liyazaki @smittenskitten
Ok, that's enough people, I know I've forgotten someone!

RWBY ReWatch Volume 5: the one where jaune learns to heal and thatâs the only important thing that happens, trust me
From here on out, Iâve only seen these episodes a grand total of once, during my initial liveblog of them. I have not rewatched Volumes 5-7 at any point, so these episodes are going to be the major refresher for me, as far as plot and details Iâve forgotten.
That being said, I remember liking Volume 5 least of all, but I donât really remember why. IIRC (and I probably donât) it felt like Volume 5 should have picked up the slower pace that Volume 4 set, but because the story was so divided, it didnât really accomplish that. It ended up being pretty disappointing.
So, letâs see if Volume 5 fairs better with a rewatch.
Iâm trying to remember the song for the Volume 5 OP before it plays, and I have NO idea what it was, or what it was even about. The same for Volume 6, but I adored the Volume 7 and 8 OPs, so I remember those pretty well.
Going through the character shorts now, and I forgot that the action in Volume 5 took a dip in quality too. Itâs not anywhere near bad, but itâs noticeably slower than the action in RWBY usually is. Not nearly as exciting.
Sad to know that the reason Lionheart was so happy to know where the Spring Maiden is was so he had new information to funnel to Watts.
How did Oscar find Qrow? Did he just happen to see him, or did Ozpin tell him to walk into every bar in Mistral until he found Qrow, lmao.
oh my god, I never noticed when Qrow was drunk, he boops Oscar on the nose before he walks inside akfhklsdjhlasd
Hm, yeah, I donât remember this OP at all. The song is nice, but not as immediately catchy like some of the other songs are.
Adamâs new model in Volume 5 make his horns much easier to see.
I forgot how absolutely gorgeous Sienna Khanâs design is. Itâs such a shame how underutilized she was.
So. Why does the leader of the White Fang need a whole ass throne room?
God, I hate Adam SO much.
âThis curse was bestowed upon me by the Gods, because I failed to stop Salem in the past.â Isnât it interesting that the Gods are always far more interested in punishing someone than just giving them the tools they need to accomplish their goals? Iâd think itâd have been far more useful to Ozma to make him immortal in the same way Salem was, than to just have him reincarnate himself over and over.
There was probably a reason for that that wasnât just punishment, but like I said, only watched Volume 6 once, so the finer details escape me.
Kind of funny that the bandits thought they could keep a Schnee contained. I mean, even without her weapon, her semblance is pretty versatile, as she later demonstrates.Â
The scene with Yang just calmly whooping bandit ass is soooo *chefs kiss*. Like, god, I love her.Â
This is the first fight sheâs been in since she fought Adam, right? Such a simple spat that she easily wins, but the rush of adrenaline just reminds her body of her last fight, so she canât even enjoy it. :c
The hug between Yang and Weiss is so beautifully framed. The lighting, the colors, the way the knight shimmers away, Weissâ feet not touching the ground, sheâs just holding onto Yang for dear life. But also the fact that she fully trusts in Yang and her strength that she knows Yang could easily hold her up.
ALSO Home starts playing?? Cause Weiss is finally âhomeâ with a piece of her family and why am I crying???
So. Who is that a painting of that Corsac and Fennec are standing in front of? I have to assume a family member, cause it looks like they have Fennecâs ears.
Itâs almost funny what a poor job Raven does at trying to convince Yang to stay. âYouâre family and friends that youâve known for so long have been lying to you, but I, family in name only and a practical stranger to you, will tell you the complete truth if you stay with me.â And she says this after being antagonistic to Yang the entire conversation.Â
hehe, get fucked raven
Yang says âno more liesâ if theyâre gonna work together, and Ozpin agrees, and then immediately proceeds to keep lying alkdhskhahfks
âI know all about your master.â Wait, thatâs right. Raven mustâve found out that Salem canât be killed, thatâs why she ran away from helping Oz.
â... a fall maiden with a surname so appropriate, she probably picked it herself. Something tells me youâve got a slight case of ego-mania.â afkjsdkhalsfsfs
Cinder was so blinded by her ego and the chance to enact revenge that she readily agreed to inviting Ruby and Co. to Haven, and couldnât see how obviously that was part of Ravenâs plan. Like, if they had just followed the plan the way Watts wanted to, Cinder wouldâve had the spring maidenâs power and the relic relatively easily. Then she couldâve just hunted Ruby afterwards.Â
Ohhh, the song that plays when Ilia and Blake finally face each other and grab their weapons is soo good. A dramatic swell that highlights the tragedy of the moment.
Knowledge, Creation, Destruction-- all of these are pretty self explanatory in what they might do. But what the hell could the Choice Relic possibly do? Something big, I assume, if Oz wanted it hidden directly under his guard, and he made it much more difficult to find than the others.
Also, Iâm sure thereâs something to be said about Choice being the most powerful of all, but Iâve not the brain power to put that into words, and being hidden under the incredibly manipulative Ozpin.
And speaking of the relics, I imagine the first thing Salem would ask Jinn is how to find the relic at Beacon.
âIâm not afraid, Iâm smart.â What?? lol Salemâs goal is the destruction of Humanity, and you are human. Thereâs nothing smart about not choosing to fight her because if she wins youâll still die.
what the hell is Kaliâs tray made of that it can block bullets
oh my god, she killed a man with that tray
I love Iliaâs character arc this volume. I hope we see her again.
This entire volume the captions have been delayed on Rooster Teethâs site. :/
âTake out the Aerisâ who the fuck is doing these captions. Not only have they been delayed, but theyâve also been completely wrong multiple times, and now weâre just making words up
Itâs kind of sad to see how reliant on her summoning Weiss became. Sheâs trying very hard to summon her knight, even when she doesnât really have the opportunity to, and gets taken down by Vernal in a few hits because of it, but sheâs normally such a capable fighter.
Hazel and Gretchen, Hansel and Gretel is the inspo, I suppose.
Hazelâs motivation is so weak. Like, Ozpin wasnât even the one who killed her, he just didnât tell her no. And Hazelâs really willing to kill all of humanity just to spite Ozpin??
Ohhh, damn. Itâs crazy to see just how far Cinderâs Grimm arm encroaches onto the rest of her body in the future. In the reveal she still has her shoulder at least.
hehe, get fucked adam
Holy shit, I forgot Weiss stabbed Hazel in the kidney with the lancer stinger.
Ravenâs lucky that her daughter is actually a good person, and didnât tell anyone that she was the spring maiden.
i mean... blake couldâve still apologized for abandoning them like that :V she had her reasons, but it was still fucked up. Ruby at least left a note when she left and apologized to Yang when she later saw her.
That was Volume 5! All in all, not bad. I still enjoyed the volume, thereâs nothing immediately wrong with it. Plot wise it was good, and I wouldnât say it was slowly paced. Just that the story being split between so many characters made it feel a lot slower, at least until the last 5 or so episodes. There was also a notable lack of action this volume, in comparison to previous volumes, and what little there was was just... alright. For a show like RWBY, whose action segments was a major selling point, it is pretty disappointing.
That being said, I enjoyed a lot of the character moments and plot threads that we were given here.
Onwards!

Charles Rodriguez - Virtual Sketchbook
Writing and Research
1) My name is Carlito, however I prefer to go by Charles, and a little fact about myself is that I usually love to draw from time to time. My favorite things to draw usually consist of videogame and movie characters, essentially fanart of them on my spare time. However, I am willing to learn how to draw more complex stuff, such as backgrounds, shadings, and many more since I'm still pretty inexperienced.Â
2) I was assigned #27 - Diane Arbus 1962Â Child with Toy Hand Grenade
This photo is one of the most celebrated photographs in the history of the medium
The iconic image embodies the awkward tension between childhood tomfoolery and primal violence.Â
Diane Arbus was mostly known for her eerie photographs of children, intimate portraits of famous figures, and urban scenes.Â
Arbus received two Guggenheim fellowships to support her work during the 1960s, and taught at the Parsons School of Design.
Arbus changed how the world looks at photographs and how photographs looked at the world
The photo is Gelatin Silver Print and the dimensions of the image is 15 1/2 x 15 1/16
Two techniques Arbus would usually go for in her photos was documentary and photojournalistic photography
Arbus's photos were created to represent real life subjects in their natural environments.Â
3) My thoughts did very much change about this picture the more I had looked into it. The first time I had looked at this image and saw the title of it, I thought it was kind of funny out of context since it was just a picture of a child with a toy grenade. However, the more I looked into it and the more I had researched about this subject, I was very interested in the artist behind this photograph. The pictures she would take were very interesting to me because it just has that distinct feeling of eeriness inside of it. Nothing is wrong with it, sure, but it's just very interesting to know the meaning behind some of the pictures of what she would take, how she would take them, and why she took them. Knowing that it was to represent real life people and subjects in their natural environments just made it all the more fascinating to learn about what Arbus had done with her career.Â
Art and Writing
One of the most unique and special things that I have in my room is a poster for Spiderverse. It's still one of my favorite animated movies to watch solely because of how absolutely amazing the animation is. Sony, Marvel, and everyone else behind the team absolutely spent all their time just creating a wonderful masterpiece that will never be forgotten. It's such a beautiful movie from start to finish, I always love to watch it back from time to time because of how rewatchable it is. From the story, to the animation, it's something that I truly love and hope to one day become a great artist.
Writing a Self Portrait
I am 18 years old, I will be turning 19 in July. My preferred gender to be aligned with is male. I am from Wisconsin since that's where I lived most of my life until I moved her in Florida. My ethnicity is mainly American with hispanic. What I usually like to do for fun is mainly play video games, binge watch movies and TV shows, go to the gym, and draw a lot of the time. I don't have any form of job yet, nor am I a part of any organized group. However, one aspect that I truly find unique about myself is that I love to write in cursive and I can do an impression of Donald Duck.
Art Project - Self Portrait
I decided to draw a portrait of myself since I love to have a unique art style that represents how I like to draw my characters. Mainly the eyes, hair, nose, and mouth since I like to keep them simple, but also expressive. I also usually prefer to just color in black and white since it's easier to erase and I'm not the best when it comes to actually coloring, which is something I hope I can improve on. Plus, I always just loved things in black and white.

Since I've been doing my Naruto rewatch (and skipping the filler that doesn't make sense) it's interesting how certain episodes stand out now. Like, everything between Tsunade becoming hokage and Sasuke getting all angsty is filler, since I think in the manga, Sasuke wakes up from his whole sharingan coma thing and imeditately is angsting about Naruto potentially being stronger than him. Where in the anime, there's five episodes between him waking up and him angsting.
So from a character perspective, I can see why I thought Sasuke's emotional arc was paced strangely (as I watched all of the episodes). Even the episode where they try to see Kakashi's face felt out of place because it was their post Land of Waves, pre-super angsty Sasuke dynamic. But it's super fun to see squad 7 like that since frankly we don't see it that much.
The land of waves arc is just focused on them, and by the end of it you buy that the genin are all friends. Going into the chunin exams, at the end of which with Sasuke and Naruto fighting Garra, which I had forgotten about. After that, there's the whole itachi stuff that essentially ends all the goodwill sasuke had towards Naruto.
And it's so sad! I think that's the worst part is that they made Sasuke an antagonist for pretty much the rest of the series! Because his interactions with Naruto and Sakura are pretty funny when they're on friendly terms. And we just get so little of that. It's not until the end of the war arc... which I guess is fitting for drama, but the fan in me just so wishes we had gotten more.
Though I do love Sai. Had Sasuke not been hit with the stupid stick as strongly, I definitely wouldn't have grown so attatched to Sai haha.
Anyways, that was me rambling. Excited for how not watching the filler will help the pacing. ESPECIALLY THE WAR ARC. I remember watching it as it came out, how there was an entire year where only two episodes actually moved the plot forward!
#Also am remembering how much I love all of the toad summons.#Legitimately my favorite part is Naruto interacting with the toads.#I cannot wait until we get to him learning Sage mode

my pitch for assault lily the greatest anime of all time:
everybody has forgotten about this one show from like fall 2021. i dont think thats its actual season but i watched this shit like a hawk when it came out. it gave me so many emotions. a character died and i spent the entire next week in denial until the next ep came out and she was actually dead dead. i have never heard another human being talk about this series irl without me bringing it up and telling them. im literally a ship alone in the night with my gay girls with impossible weapons fighting giant robot monsters. fun fact the entire show is a pun on yuri, which is japanese lesbian content. the main characters (gay as hell they had a child named yuri) are named yuyu and riri. they are shipped by other characters too. the whole show is just one big lesbian fest with a whole lot of beating the shit out of robots. i am the sole shooter for this show left i need my girls to be somewhere. if no one else enters them at least i had the passion. yuri hitotsuyanagi i will avenge you.
god im still so undone over assault lily. like is it good? not really but it did something to my brain. nobody remembers my messed up lesbian girls. god you look at teh show and be like ah moe yuri typical close to magical girl pretty stuff. NO. ITS HARD. list of things that happen in this show: character death that casts its shadow over the entire series, more character death but even worse, blood, oh god so much. honestly its not that violent but the trauma and emotions are what i prefer. i am disappointed as to how fast the second character death was wrapped up bc they got over it kinda quick i cant elaborate bc of spoilers. but it was fucked up and confusing. god i love this show its so funny how gay they got without explicitly saying its gay. LIKE THE ENTIRE SHOW IS ONE BIG PUN ON YURI. ASSAULT LILY. LILIES. FUCKING YUYU AND RIRI BUT THEY DONT KISS ON SCREEN. its all just kaede being a slut tbh. I NEED TO REWATCH IT I HAVE DISEASES. watch it w me even ill be so happy but when we get to episode 9(?) all hell will break loose
